Internet Down

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 9th December 2008

Good morning everyone:  My internet service is down. I am having it checked out so in the mean time I am borrowing a friend’s computer, and unfortunately they work from home on this computer so I only have a few minutes. So you see maybe even I am being prevented from posting. But ha! I am resourceful.  I will prevail…always have, always will. :)

Since I am going to keep this short and sweet I am just going to address those from the other day….

Dana:  I have no idea where the aliens are.  Maybe Gleia is still around and he’ll come in and bless us with his humor.  Tal is gone for a bit and there is a ‘head’ here to replace him…don’t even ask.

Devyendu and Ajay:  You have both spoken and if you desire to leave and not read, that is your decision. I said what needed to be said yesterday and really…what more is there to say? You either ‘believe’ or you don’t. I don’t have the time or energy to try and convince you. Peace to you both.

Madhavi: I wish you luck in fending off marriage until you can marry who you choose – if that is even possible. As far as ‘sensible’ people prevailing….There is not much that is making sense to me lately. Things that are happening and actions that are being taken do not seem logical to me. Some answers seem simple, yet they are not the answers that we are getting.

Caroline: Oh…you nailed that one on the head…I am not much in the Christmas spirit…but I am trying. And really it is not that I’m not in the spirit, I am just preoccupied with a few other things that are priority right now…but I’m actually excited about the holidays and the fact that I am going to spend it with my family. It is going to be a different Christmas with much to be thankful for. I think of last year and how so much was different in my life then. Amazing how much can change in a year. And yes, next year will be totally different than this year. I am hopeful…

Thanks for sharing your story. I am sorry about your mother but I am sure that your father is so thankful that you are close to him. I hope that you Holiday is sweet.

ZL: Thanks for chiming in…same same story. I’m sorry that I have not called. I have worked the past 5 days and I have not had a minute for anything personal. I hope that you are doing good.

Peace out.

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle

Is This Blog Bogus?

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 8th December 2008

Michelle’a Holiday Picks!

If you would like to buy any of these, click on any book and you will be taken to Amazon.com.

To all of my readers…loyal, newbies, seasoned, and anyone else who joins the blog banter here:  I have been accused several times that my blog is ‘bogus’ and that I have control over those that are able to post their comments. Once again….’I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHOSE COMMENTS GETS IN AND THOSE THAT DON’T.  If I had a Bible or the Quran or the Tipitaka, or any other sacred or holy book, I would place my hand on either or all and swear that there are powers that prevent you from posting your comments and that I have nothing to do with it.

If you have been reading these past few days it has been quiet with no comments from anyone.  Now, let’s be logical here. If I had any control why would I not allow any comments in at all? How un-fun would that be?  And quite frankly, it is un-fun…and frustrating. I look forward to hearing from all of you, daily!

If I had my druthers, I would prefer to let hundreds in, but then forget this blog being as personal as it is. With the few that do get in I am able to address each of you, and if hundreds got in, the vibe of this blog would be very different. First of all, you can forget the intimate setting that we have created here. And I definitely would not be able to address all of you, even if my blog was a money making business, and all I did was respond to as many of you as I could, all day long.  So…in reality I am not sure that I would want to lose the intimacy and connection that I have, if even only with a few of you.  That being said, ‘My blog is not bogus.’ But believe what you must. I cannot seem to convince some of you otherwise.

Lastly, Even though I need not apologize because it is out of my control, I apologize because I understand your frustration too.  And with that,  I will end this blog and apologize for not responding to those that did get in yesterday. I am delighted to hear from you but I have run out of time – work calls.  I’ll catch ya tomorrow – talk amongst yourselves if you are able. :)

Michelle’a Holiday Picks!

Hello…

I have decided that I will use the above section for special things…such as my ‘Holiday Picks’, so that you will have access to them throughout the holiday. Have any of you checked out any of the books? Some good stuff eh? I like to think so. The content may change as the weeks go by as, I discover new products that inspire me, or perhaps a product that is meaningful to an article that I write.

I thought this would be a fun addition to the blog. After all, I have always wanted my blog to be of service through inspiring and informing….not to mention just a ‘fun’ place to hang out. If I can pass along something that I have discovered that I think does either, or hopefully both, I will have accomplished my goal. Your thoughts? Blog me.

Until then…I look forward to surprising you with more!

Did You Find Your ‘Jewel’ Today?

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 5th December 2008

Ummm…I woke up this morning; it was early, totally dark. There is something about the early morning. It is not just the darkness that I love but the silence and the freshness, the newness…that the morning brings as dawn breaks into a new day.  Any issue the day before is a distant past and a new day is born, possibly bringing new challenges.  I guess that is why I love my sleep so much. When I wake up, it feels like a clean slate even if it isn’t. New days always give me hope.

A new day also brings a new person. I was tired last night but this morning I am re-energized; My body and mind are awake, alive, and aware.

I love this photo.  Why? Because it gives us a different perspective than maybe what we’re used to seeing. I’m all about looking at things from a different view and seeing something that maybe I would not have seen had I not changed my perspective. Sometimes the beauty of something just needs to be seen from a different angle. And sometimes when we’re baffled about something in life, all we need to do is look at it from a different perspective and the answer jumps right out at us. Just as the shadows of the Zebra do.

This is the perfect image for me to discover this morning. This is my little jewel that has revealed itself.

Readers: Did you find your ‘jewel’ today? Or does this image speak to you too? I would love to hear your view. Blog me.

Hey, it’s Friday – have a good one!

Doug & Zen Lill:  It’s been a little quiet on this blog, but I am so happy that both of you are still here. :)

‘….there are jewels in everything we do even if they are very small and we can’t see them immediately.’

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 1st December 2008

Well…I’ve been perusing the net looking for something to inspire a write and I have to say that I have come up totally empty. I have not been watching the news AT ALL, as I have been working like a dog. And let me tell you, ‘dog’ is the operative word here.

Remember when I said awhile ago how I was a woman who was blessed with not having to work? Or at least not having to work at something that didn’t inspire me?  I always jokingly said that I was a ‘stay at home mom with no kids.’ – that was me. Actually I am a woman looking to be inspired by a new career or even the old one…as long as it is exciting, and I am passionate about it.  I have been blessed to work in a field that I love for my entire young life, and I am not about to change that.

But today, like many others in this sucky economy,  I have had to go out and get a second job…immediately. Yes the economy is affecting this girl too.  I am a working girl now with two part time jobs and sadly, very little pay.  But hey, I am grateful that I landed something even if it is not my ideal situation. I have learned from the past that all of my experiences in my life have lead to the totality of the person that I am today. This one will too. And yes I believe that there are jewels in everything we do even if they are very small and we can’t see them immediately.

So this new job may lead to a new career or it may just be a ‘job’ for awhile. Time will tell and so will my attitude. So far I am enjoying it in spite of the modest pay (ugh!), and as I said…I am testing the waters…is this for me?  It is quite humbling.  I am seeing this position as a new part in the play of my life, and this scene may end quickly or drag on.

Therefore, a good positive attitude is the utmost of importance. I try not to get too wrapped up in it all, and just find the jewel. Sometimes it means faking it.  Hence the saying, ‘fake it till you make it.’

My life is pretty strange at times and things change pretty quickly…sometimes daily and sometimes even hourly.  Yesterday’s upset is not a concern today…and today’s happiness…well….like I have said before, ‘happiness’ is a state of mind’…

In the mean time I have hired head hunters in my design field to actively ‘hook me up’ with employers looking for a candidate such as myself.  The next scene is coming up – Wish me luck!

**********

Hi Kristin:  I don’t know how to answer your question. The insanity continues in many other forms today. And there are still barbaric acts of genocide happening all over the world. You can’t take away what has happened in the past but you can learn from them and you can be a voice…a participant in stopping the atrocities that are happening now.

Hi Ratnavali: As I mentioned, I am behind in the happenings of the world right now. I am in survival mode myself and doing the best that I can to keep in touch with the time that I have. Regardless, I have been advised to lay low at this present moment. Believe me, I wish that I could do more.  ’Hang in there’ seems to be the phrase I am using these days. :)

Peace out…
