Greed lives here too

Danny: “Since no one was claiming them”? Do you even pay attention to the last thing that I add to my blog write everyday? I didn’t think so or you wouldn’t ask me such a bold and stupid question.  What gall you have asking me to make it convenient for you to steal from me.

Let me reiterate to all out there…“All material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog.” (Of course if it was written on a prior locations such as She’s poetry, it is not my property.) What is not clear? It is people like you Danny that inspired me to remove my blog roll, and privatize my writes.

Jarod: Sorry about that. You can thank the greedy opportunists for depriving you of a good read. As usual the greedy ruin it for everyone else.

Readers: I have no doubt that people have already stolen many ideas here for the next big hit, the next money maker movie, and they will continue to do so, but don’t think I am going to sit back and make it easy. I have sat back for too long already. I wish I had done something a long time ago. That was my stupidity.

I feel like I do a good thing here. I spent a lot of dedicated time building this blog to the status that it has risen to, and I did it not even aware that I was doing it.

Yes, in the beginning, I like everyone else who has started a blog, hoped my blog could bring in some revenue for my time. I still do and It hasn’t.  I have made sacrifices in my life to continue this blog.  This more than a part time job takes away time from a job that makes me money, takes away time that I could be working out, hanging out with friends and family, etc. But I give up my precious time, something that we all have so very little of, for the betterment of this world for all.

If I didn’t believe I was doing something good for people…for the world…if I didn’t believe that I had the power in this venue to do more, believe me I wouldn’t be making such sacrifices. Life is short, and as much as I am passionate about the things I blog about, I’m not that altruistic. I am not a Mother Teresa. I’d love to get paid for my time.

However, I continue to write because even though what I am doing has not brought me value in terms of the dollar, it brings the intangible value…of insight, depth, connection, to a degree I am not even aware of. I know I and this blog, including my readers, have brought about change…and that change continues to ripple throughout the world. And that is what drives me to continue. Money is not the driving force. Bringing in revenue would not make me continue to blog, nor will the lack of it prevent me from continuing to write my blog. I have made a commitment to be here either way.

And my commitment to write is out of my passion to do something good, to learn, to inspire…to give myself a voice, give women a voice, give the animals a voice, and obviously give my readers an unedited platform to vent and rant and tell their stories. At this point I don’t think I couldn’t stop blogging if I wanted to.

That being said, I don’t say this to get recognition. Many people make sacrifices much more greater in life than I. And these sacrifices are my choice. It is my contribution. And I really enjoy doing it.

So yeah, I get a little pissy when I’m not getting a financial benefit from my years here, and greedy opportunists stroll in, read, see the dollar signs flash before their eyes…and then steal from me and others, and financially benefit from copying and claiming as their own.

However…why would I think that like life in the real world, the blog world would be any different? It isn’t. Greed lives here too.

She: Unfortunately it won’t be the last reminder that humans are greedy opportunists.

I’m done with my rant. Whatever you want to say, say it here. blog me.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

…I don’t feel like saying much

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 30th March 2011

Okay…so I am at a loss today. My mind is reeling with too many topics. The news is overwhelming and everything is melding into one. I am a tad frustrated this morning and I don’t feel like saying much. But I will check in and address a few of you.

AH: I read the “list” of gangs that you posted. I recognized the name of only one: The Bowery Boys. And only because of the television show the same name, that I watched when I was young. A slapstick comedy involving a mob of juvenile delinquents. Not exactly what you described. I watched the BB trailer just now, and funny, I don’t find much humor in it anymore. But at the time I loved it.

Linda: I loved that quote too. And no doubt, it is a battle.

Robert: FOX says, “The radiation leaks at Fukushima don’t come close to that of Chernobyl”? I wonder what FOX has to say now after seeing the headlines on the Huff Po this morning about this nuclear disaster. This is just so devastating. You can’t lie about something like this and get away with it, can you? I don’t think so but if anyone is going to try, it’s going to be FOX. And yes, I tend to think along the lines of Zen Lill with respect to the Japanese Government. Can we really believe that all is being disclosed?

Afaf: Politics isn’t based on fairness. And life is not fair in many ways. But to answer your question,  simple, “Bush is a white man”.

Haruki: I can not even imagine the state of emotions, what thoughts…fear that must running through the minds of everyone in Japan. This is not something that you can escape. Terrible doesn’t even begin to express what is happening over there. I wish you and your well.

Anonymous #12: Thanks for posting the entire poem. I too like Dan love that line, “The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, moves on”. I can’t tell you how many times that line has been used in conversation with a particular person, when he was trying to make a point. But I never knew from where it came from. Thanks for enlightening me.

IN HONOR OF WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH:

“The prejudice against color, of which we hear so much, is no stronger than that against sex. It is produced by the same cause, and manifested very much in the same way. The negro’s skin and the woman’s sex are both prima facie evidence that they were intended to be in subjection to the white Saxon man.”

~Elizabeth Cady Stanton

One of the best-known of the mothers of woman suffrage, Elizabeth Cady Stanton helped organize the 1848 woman’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, where she insisted on leaving in a demand for the vote for women — despite strong opposition, including from her own husband. Stanton worked closely with Susan B. Anthony, writing many of the speeches which Anthony traveled to deliver.

Readers: Did you “Just Notice”?

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 27th March 2011

Good morning!

**Blog Biz**

Readers: This one’s for you. Did you “just notice” the new disclaimer that I added in the right hand column of my blog? The new added one makes it a total of three (3) disclaimers. And for the purpose of this blog, and to make you aware of them, I am also going to blog all three here today beginning with the newest disclaimer added. Please familiarize yourself with all three as they are all very important.

Disclaimer: Adult Blog

I DO NOT CENSOR COMMENTS POSTED TO THIS BLOG: Therefore this blog is not for the faint-hearted, thin-skinned, easily offended or the appointed people’s moralist. If you feel that you may fit in any of those categories, please DO NOT read my blog or its comments. There are plenty of blogs that will fit your needs, find one. This warning also applies to those who post comments, who would find it unpleasant or mentally injurious to receive an opposing opinion via a raw to vulgar delivery. I DO NOT censor comments posted here. If you post a comment, you are on notice that you may receive a comment in language or opinion that you will not approve of or that you feel is offensive. If that would bother you, DO NOT post on my blog.

Medical Disclaimer:

I am not a doctor nor am I medically trained in any field. No one on this website is claiming to be a medical physician or claiming to be medically trained in any field. However, anyone can blog information about health articles, folk remedies, possible cures, possible treatments, etc that they have heard of on my blog. Please see your physician or a health care professional before heeding or using any medical information given on this blog. It is not intended to replace any medical advice given to you by your licensed medical professional. This blog is simply providing a medium for discussion on all matters concerning life. All opinions given are the sole responsibility of the person giving them. This blog does not make any claim to their truthfulness, honesty, or factuality because of their presence on my blog. Again, Please consult a health care professional before heeding any health information given here.

Legal Disclaimer:

Michelle Moquin’s “A Day In The Life Of…” publishes the opinions of expert authorities in many fields. But the use of these opinions is no substitute for legal, accounting, investment, medical and other professional services to suit your specific personal needs. Always consult a competent professional for answers to your specific questions.

Since the first disclaimer above ( Disclaimer: Adult Blog) is the newest addition, I am going to expound on this one a bit. There are a lot of you out there reading who are sensitive to what is said on my blog….sensitive to how someone responds to other comments. For those of you, and you know who you are, please don’t read my blog if the content and/or the language bothers you.

And definitely don’t post anything controversial because you will get addressed by other readers. And if you are sensitive to the conversations between other commentators that you read, you will be just as sensitive if not more, to what others will be saying to you directly about your post. If this sounds like you, do not comment on my blog, do not read my blog. I repeat: Do not comment or read my blog if you are sensitive to my writes and the reader’s comments.

For example, if you are new to my blog you may not have experienced our resident racist “George” yet. George uses terms to describe those “other than white” (OTW), that many of you may find offensive. He uses the terms, and now I quote George, “muds, monkeys, animals, savages, dogs, slopes, niggers, nigs, spics, wetbacks, wets, camel Jockeys, rag heads”, etc. So if these terms bother you, DON’T READ MY BLOG.

George also has a way with women. He uses derogatory terms towards women such as, and I quote, “cunts, sluts, meat, chattel, bitches”, etc. Although I have been called a “greedy cunt”, I came back with “my ‘cunt’ is very giving, a hot piece of ‘meat’.” :) I laughed, but some of you sensitive readers might not have. And the latter? Well  I personally praise myself as quite the “Bitch”, but George definitely uses it, as well as the other “terms”, in a demeaning manner.

And George definitely has a thing or two to say when it comes to “a woman’s place in this world.” And believe me it isn’t pretty, and it isn’t about equality. Everything I stand for, he opposes. So for those of you who are sensitive to such words and how they are being used by George and the likes of him DON’T READ MY BLOG.

As you can see, hit me personally with a derogatory word or statement, and I will try to make it into something positive and delicious, and yes, sometimes funny. Humor is always welcome here too. But, again, even a joke can hit a sensitive person the wrong way, turning a posted piece of humor meant to bring laughter, but doesn’t even a crack a smile, and perhaps leads to anger and/or tears. And possibly rightly so.

As I said, I don’t censor the comments posted. I think I’ve posted enough examples for you to peruse. So…let me say it again...Those of you who find these terms listed offensive, and the language a bit too colorful, a bit too graphic in whatever manner that bothers you (and I’m being nice here)…simple…DON’T READ MY BLOG….DON’T POST ON MY BLOG.  Find a blog that you enjoy.

That’s it for me today. Enough said. Blog me your thoughts.

Peace out.

Good morning!

Rose: I was about to respond to you with a, “Thanks for the info! I am in dressing rooms a lot.” But before I did, I decided to check what you posted, first on Snopes. Only because the post seemed a bit suspicious to me. I’ve learned the hard way about passing along info that isn’t exactly true.

When I checked Snopes, they found the information to be “false”. Hmm…Why? Ruby discovered that her uncle had several 2-way mirrors in his house. Evidently, the fingernail test worked for her.  It was then I decided to read Snopes write to find out why. It turns out Snopes and the advice were both correct.  It was the terminology used to describe the item that wasn’t exactly correct, which is why they labeled it “false”.

The mirror that Ruby discovered was not 2-way mirror, nor was it the expensive first-surface mirror that Snopes talked about. As Snopes said that type of mirror, while it would allow the fingernails to touch, would not be used in a bathroom because of its expensiveness. What Ruby discovered was a “transparent mirror.”

The fingernail test, although it is not the most reliable test to do, it evidently helped Ruby and her aunt discover her scoundrel of an uncle, thanks to Rose’s post. But If you want to determine if it is definitely a “transparent mirror”, and you don’t want to “hurl an object”  into the mirror as the article suggested, I would suggest that you read Snopes, as there are better tests based on the more obvious physical features of “transparent mirrors”. One of them being that the real mirror hangs on a wall, the transparent mirror is part of the wall.

To read the rest of Snopes findings, Click here. I found it interesting, Perhaps you will too. Unfortunately snopes doesn’t allow you to copy and past. :(

Thanks Rose for peaking my interest, and Ruby for inspiring me to want to investigate it further. All in all, the advice was worth heeding.  When in question It is usually good to err on your side. For you, Ruby, regardless of whether the terminology was correct, the information lead to the discovery in your uncle’s house.

Hey Jackie: Welcome! Believe me, sometimes it’s a bit overwhelming for me too.

Hi Glenda: Thank you and welcome to you too! I’m happy to hear that you find my blog to be helpful for you. Good luck in school. Keep reading. When new girls are needed, I always post it here. Any girl who volunteers to be beamed up into space has the potential to be one of my girlz.

Doug: I love watching Elena Lev – she is so amazing at her craft. Thank you for the nice reminder that my hoops are gathering dust. And yes Lacy, I am a very lucky girl.

With respect to your link on Trump: I loved Whoopi before and I love her even more now. I don’t know how she contains herself. I would’ve been jumping out of my seat with anger and frustration toward Trump…and Hasselbeck – Ugh…she just rubs me so wrong; the way she sits there with that smirk on her face. It’s not the first time she’s shown her racist side.

Zen Lill, Lisa: I so wished I had received it. I have so few republican friends; they all know me well enough to know not to send it to me. I’d love to hear any reactions that you get. Blog it.

Heddie: Hi and welcome! I used to watch General Hospital soo many years ago. Can’t say I was hooked but I had many friend that were. I am always so shocked that soap is still on the air. So…are you hooked on the blog too? :) It does get pretty steamy here.

AH: I am not much into cowboys, but I know aliens love that time period as well as country music. However I did find your chronicle interesting. Once again, the white guy gets away with murder… a typical thug with a gun trying to be something bigger than what he really is…a coward.

Oh…But I have to say I loved the bit about the banquet. And hilarious that Adam was running off, absconding with the seconds in hand. Too funny. I bet Adam wants Bita to steer again. Can I come along some time? :) Nice to hear from you again. Oh and Doug: Your addition was a hoot too. It seems you were up a bit earlier than you thought.  :)

Quote of the day honoring Women’s History Month. I love this one:

“The world has never yet seen a truly great and virtuous nation, because in the degradation of women, the very fountains of life are poisoned at their source.”

~Lucretia Mott, a Quaker, was known as an antislavery advocate and women’s rights activist

Readers: It’s Friday. Flap whatever moves you . :)

Blog me.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I just love the above font. It expresses “whimsy” and “happiness”, exactly how I am feeling this morning. I HOPE everyone is feeling some of this too, or at least HOPEful.

A new year has a tendency to do that…instill a sense of HOPE that the new year brings a new beginning. Hence we can let go of the old, forgive, forget, move on, start with a clean plate, make room for the shiny bright and new, change habits, create fresh ideas, do things differently, view from a different perspective…etc., etc.

I really wasn’t planning to write about any particular topic this morning. I thought I would just leave it up to fate and see what my finger tapping would spontaneously produce. And currently I am at a standstill. :) I read a few pages of A New Earth this morning, and in my state of happiness, I am also feeling quite introspective…and quite private.

Not a good thing when I am trying to write my blog and give my readers something inspiring to chew on. Nope, not today. :) So…it looks like the chewing  and the inspiration and is going to have to come from you, if at all. I’m taking a back seat and leaving the forum wide open.

However, before I slip out…I will comment, as I am in the mood for that.

Lan: I think gratitude towards Suzanne is in order. She certainly inspired the interest. And I learned something new too. So thanks Suzanne.

Evelyn & Harris:  Wow. Another big congrats is due! Twins?! How delightful. I am so happy for the both of you! Evelyn, reading your commentary made me smile and laugh. Yes Harris, girls certainly need breathing room. Doug can attest for that. But hey, doting on the woman he loves, carrying the babies that you two created together is so endearing and sweet. Eat it all up, and be grateful that he loves and cares deeply for you.

On another note, so sorry you had to quit your job – but somehow I think you’re pleased. (?) At least now you can just relax and enjoy your pregnancy (?) Coming from a girl who has never had children, let along, enjoyed a pregnancy, I really don’t know what they hell I’m saying. :) All I can say, is that I am super excited to be over there, and meet all of you, whenever your plans allow. And now I will have the added excitement of meeting your newborns, or perhaps even seeing you with the precious plump belly!

And Harris, why is it that even though I have not met your lovely Evelyn, I have no problem visualizing her saying those words to you?! You have a fireball on your hands and I expect if you produce one of each, as Evelyn would so love, the little girl will be just like her momma. You will certainly have your hands full then if you don’t already. And don’t you love women and their every changing minds and moods? One minute she feels this way, and the next, completely the opposite. We like to keep our men on their toes. But I can see you are able and willing. :) You two are so cute together.

But like I said, I don’t have children, so I am going to stay out of it when it comes to the “proper precautions”. All I will say, is that many women have handled the challenges of pregnancy without the help of “help”. I’m sure Evelyn will be just fine listening to her gut, and perhaps Ruth too. And as far as your marriage…I think you two are handling it just fine without my added two. :) Love to you both.

Speaking of…

Hi Ruth: Nice to hear from you, and no worries. I can imagine that your hands are always full. Again, sorry for the inconvenience of the blog fame. It seems my blog’s popularity is subdued here but evidently not in your area.

Happy to hear though that you are having a wonderful cruise in the Greek Isles. One of my favorite things to do is go island hopping. Although I can’t say that I have done it in the fashion that you are now currently enjoying. I HOPE all of you are having a wonderful time!

Oh, and I must not forget to congratulate you too! – After all, with the help of two lovebirds, you will now have 15, as Evelyn has pointed out. No surprise that Evelyn will be an excellent mother. How could she not be when she has such a great mother model to follow.

Ruth, I have said it before, and I will say it again. I am really looking forward to meeting you too. And ditto on the variety of subjects that we will surely discuss into the early morning. I so look forward to our girl time, and learning what you have discovered. Kinky sex and intrigue in hidden files…Ooh, too much fun!

I have to say that 18 months felt like such a long time away, but now…well I just get more excited thinking about how soon it will truly be when all of us will meet even sooner than I expected. And now your comment that we, you and I, look similar? Not fair; you can see me but I can’t see you…yet. :) Oh my curiosity is growing!

So…onto logistics. As far as the details of me getting there, like I said, France and England are quite different than what I experience here, so I will defer to you and Anonz in that area. With respect to Anonz, I’m looking forward to meeting the big lug. Love to you, and the girls. Enjoy your excursion!

I see more comments have some in but….

…I can hear my Readers now, “It’s after 11:30 am – where is today’s post?! What’s going on Michelle?” Sorry peeps…I’m posting late. I’ll be back on track tomorrow with “articles and keen insights” (Thanks Peter) …I HOPE.

Its been a pleasure and I look forward to another year with all of you!

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle
