“just noticing”: observations of a blogger
Posted by Michelle Moquin on February 27th, 2011
Good morning!
“Just noticing…”
- …anything “coconut” makes me feel like I’m on vacation. Try my fave body lotion “Skin Trip“*, or try substituting Coconut Milk instead of cow’s milk in your morning latte. (Thanks Doug!)
- …I can always do more than I think I can, if I don’t constrict out of fear, and I just expand.
- …the Huff Po has a heading for “divorce”.
- …being open to the unexpected can lead to the unexpected. Here’s a personal short story:
Mike: I get frustrated too. And I sometimes think I lose HOPE, but it isn’t lost…it never is. Somewhere in the depths of chaos and questioning, HOPE is still there for me….and I know it is there for you too. HOPE can be found anywhere. Find it where you least expect it and continue doing what you do. I look forward to your posts. This one’s for you:
- …I saw a guy walking the streets in SF the other day, completely covered in Tattoos. As he passed me, I looked down at his legs and tattooed on the back of his calf he had Shepard Fairy’s HOPE poster of Obama.
*No, I am not getting any kickbacks from this company.
Readers: What are you “just noticing”? Blog me.
Doug: I like that saying. Unfortunately there are quite a few examples of this country doing just that. on another note, I can see areas where I need to step aside and get out of my own way….to relax and let things come to me.
Zen Lill: Yes, the Republicans may have got to ‘em, but when will people learn that Republicans as a whole are not looking out for the peoples’ best interest. How many more examples need to be shown? How bad does this country need to go down before people wake up and see past the lies and fear that the Republicans instill in their rhetoric. Greed and racism are woven in the cloth of lies and fear, and people are just too stupid and lazy to pull apart the threads to expose what is truly hidden. Once again, all the Republicans care about is regaining their power, and then and theirs – not the middle class, nor any one else.
Oh…Elke will have to wait – No idea where that recipe is.
Adam: I appreciate your openness and honesty. A great observation of others and yourself.
Emily: How are you? That was cute.
Peter: How are you doing? Your comment concerns me. Being threatened is not a good thing. I am so sorry. Please be careful in your decision. Hafa Adai.
PEACE OUT.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle

The republican party is business writing laws to force parents to have to give or allow the schools to give vaccinations to their children and babies.
They are doing this to pay back the pharmaceutical industry for their campaign donations.
Aren’t these the people who want to throw out Obama care because it impedes a person’s right to make his/her own medical decisions?
They are also including in the bill immunity from suit if the vaccinations later prove to be harmful. So now the pharmaceutical industry can put anything they want in their vaccination cocktails and screw you can’t sue them.
The republican investment firms are all touting the value of stocks of pharmaceutical and companies that support that industry as great ground floor investments.
Years from now when the bigots find out what those vaccinations have done to their children they can remember how race was more important than the health and life of their loved ones.

6 Foods You Didn’t Think Were Good for You… But Are
John La Puma, MD
Santa Barbara Institute for Medical Nutrition and Healthy Weight
Many foods that we perceive as nutritional lightweights actually are just as healthy as — and, for many people, more enjoyable than — the so-called superfoods, such as broccoli and spinach. Here, some of the best…
ICEBERG LETTUCE
The light green color of iceberg lettuce suggests that it isn’t rich in nutrients.
Fact: Iceberg contains lutein and zeaxanthin, carotenoids that reduce the risk for cataracts and age-related macular degeneration, the leading causes of blindness in older adults.
Bonus: Eat a salad at the beginning of a meal. It is low in calories and, like any food, stimulates the release of cholecystokinin (CCK), a satiety hormone that reduces appetite and causes people to consume fewer calories overall.
WATERMELON
It contains more water than most fruits. The high liquid content, along with the sugars and fiber, make watermelon the perfect snack before workouts. But it’s more than a snack food.
Fact: Watermelon contains 40% more lycopene than fresh (uncooked) tomatoes. Lycopene is a potent antioxidant that strengthens the immune system and may lower the risk for breast and prostate cancers.
Helpful: When you take a watermelon home, keep it on the counter even after cutting it open. Room-temperature watermelon continues to produce antioxidants for about two weeks. It will contain up to 40% more lycopene and up to 139% more beta-carotene than cold watermelon.
SAUERKRAUT
Fresh, minimally processed vegetables are presumed to be the healthiest. Not always.
Fact: One study found that women who ate at least four weekly servings of fermented cabbage, better known as sauerkraut, were 72% less likely to develop breast cancer than those who ate less.
Eating fermented cabbage changes gut metabolism and may help to protect the intestinal tract. Isothiocyanates, which are naturally present in all the cruciferous vegetables, appear to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and accelerate the death of these cells.
Korean kimchi, a spicy form of fermented cabbage, appears to have similar effects.
ONIONS
Most people use onions mainly as a seasoning ingredient in soups and stews and on burgers and salads. For good health, use a lot of them.
Fact: Onions are high in vitamin C, fiber, vitamin B-6 and folate. They also are rich in quercetin, a flavonoid with powerful anticancer effects, and allyl sulfides, the same protective compounds that are present in garlic.
Studies have found that people who eat between 14 and 22 servings of onions a week can reduce their risk for oral cancer by 84%. They have a 56% reduced risk for colon cancer, a 25% reduced risk for breast cancer and a 71% reduced risk for prostate cancer.
Red onions have the most quercetin. However, pink shallots contain the richest mix of chemical compounds and more antioxidants than other onions.
ARTICHOKES
They’re work to eat, but the payoff can be better digestive health.
Fact: One study found that people who took an artichoke leaf extract had a 26.4% reduction in symptoms from irritable bowel syndrome. One of the chemical compounds in artichokes, silymarin, is reputed to improve liver health in patients with hepatitis, but this hasn’t been proved.
I advise patients to eat whole, natural foods rather than depending solely on supplements. Artichokes contain a mix of antioxidants, including narirutin and apigenin-7-rutinoside, that aren’t necessarily included in supplements.
Helpful: Look for artichokes with long stems. When cooked, the stems are almost as tasty as the hearts. Peel the stems to make them more tender. Canned, frozen and jarred artichoke hearts are good, too.
AVOCADOS
Avocados have the distinction of being higher in fat than any other fruit or vegetable. One medium Hass avocado, for example, has about 29 grams of fat and about 320 calories.
Fact: Nearly all of the fat in avocados is the healthful, monounsaturated form. In a study of patients with high cholesterol, those who included avocado in their daily diet had a decrease in total cholesterol, along with an 11% increase in beneficial HDL cholesterol.
As a source of healthy fat, avocado is better than butter and is delicious when spread on toast or a sandwich.

Thanks for thinking of me Michelle. It is amazing how you take the time to acknowledge your posters. I know it must take many hours to prepare and to post your blog.
Here’s my little ditty for today.
10) SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week of school . ‘I’m just wasting my time,’ she said to her mother. ‘I can’t read, I can’t write, and they won’t let me talk!’

Hey M. I knew just who you were referring to. And she’s been popping up in my consciousness frequently of late! What a firecracker huh? I miss her and (most of) her shenanigans. Never a dull moment w T.

The chief butt rustler of the catholic church on the island is upset with the passage of Bill 34. Guam’s legislature passed the law which open a two year window for victims of child sex crimes to file a civil action against the perpetrator.
The archbishop just wants to protect the church’s pocketbook. He could care less about the harm his butt bandits did and are doing to innocents every day.
Now excommunicate asshole.

4 of the Most Dangerous Myths About Washing Your Hands
Becker’s ASC Review reveals nine widely held myths about washing your hands. Here are a few of them:
Hot water is better than cold water for effective handwashing
Scientists have found that various temperatures had “no effect on transient or resident bacterial reduction.” Not only does hot water not show any benefit, but it might increase the “irritant capacity” of some soaps, causing dermatitis.
Hand sanitizers kill germs more effectively than soap
Using alcohol-based hand-hygiene products is in general not more effective than washing your hands with plain soap and water.
Frequent handwashing or use of hand sanitizers promotes healthy skin
In fact, contact dermatitis can develop from frequent and repeated use of hand hygiene products, exposure to chemicals and glove use.
Soap with triclosan is an effective antimicrobial for handwashing
A recent study compared an antibacterial soap containing triclosan with a non-antibacterial soap. The results showed that the antibacterial soap did not provide any additional benefit.
In addition, concerns have been raised about the use of triclosan because of the potential development of bacterial resistance.

Zen Lill:
RE: February 24 – Post#4
Thou protest too much. The facts speak for themselves. I said that you would not acknowledge that you are suffering from a “daddy’ little girl” syndrome.
Any sane person reading your posts that refer to men and women issues can see that. You have a abnormal drive to please and be liked by males. I’m not talking about natural interest heterosexuals have for each other.
I made a genuine statement that I liked your other contributes to the blog. But you could not accept it within the context in which it was given because you viewed it as suspect because I was a woman making it after criticizing a part of your writing I didn’t like.
Contrast this to the men whose little bon mots you accept as genuine even though they have said despicable things about women on this blog.
You give them the benefit of the doubt reflexively because they are men and they see ZL to be above those other “bitches.
I am talking about your penchant for soliciting the approval of males because they are males. Before you go off in another tirade. Reread everything you have written on this blog. If 90% isn’t about you making some statement, hint or suggestion that you understand men better than the average woman I will just STFU.
I don’t expect you to instantly realize what you are doing. You have a neurosis that probably couldn’t be cured with decades of therapy. So I obviously don’t expect my mere citing of the condition will make you say;
“You’r right, I do kiss up to men or give them deference by suggesting that I always know women who have done whatever a woman is writing in complaining a man did.”
Leave it to you ZL to point out to us that a man can be a feminist too. We have dictionaries also. But you get to say it so that men will appreciate that good ole ZL has our back. She so fair!
However feminist a man maybe, he will never know what it is like to be threatened with lethal physical body evasion simply because of your gender.
Unless a Madaline is real and she lands in the middle of the street and says, “men your shit is up.” Or they get lost naked in the lion country of kenya.
But then they would have Zen Lill to the rescue. With all the appropriate logic as to why the men should be saved because you surely know many women with the same bad traits as many of those men.
And that my dear is the rub.

I don’t want to take sides in this tete a tete between you and Zen Lill Alycedale.
But I will say women don’t rape cattle, Brazilian man Getulino Ferreira Paraizo of Aragoinania, Brazil, was arrested in August 2008 for allegedly killing, mutilating and raping over 400 cattle. Paraizo says he only had sex with the calmer ones. He also says he wants counseling.

Okay Carrie, you had your say. This one’s for Zen Lill.
Lancaster, Pa., native, Anthony Miller, 39, suffered some sort of breakdown in Feb. 2007 and decided to hold up a bank in Ephrata, Pa. with an unloaded BB gun.
He was seen on the bank’s surveillance video waiting around for 4 minutes around for police and even asking a witness if they had called the cops.
When he was brought before a judge Miller confessed that his wife so abused him that he wanted to go to jail just to get away from her.
According to Lancaster Online, the arresting officer said that after spending 20 minutes with Miller’s wife, “I was ready for jail, too.”

Just noticing…and stating for the last time – Alycedale, really? You want to go here again?
Ok, how’s this? I will check myself into 72 hour hold right now at your urging bc I don’t have decades to undo my brainwashing, boo freakin’ hoo, or can I say, “You’re right, I do kiss up to men or give them deference by suggesting that I always know women who have done whatever a woman is writing in complaining a man did.” and now can you just leave me alone? Or fuck off?
And no, I don’t feel bad at all saying that. So any of your followers who think I’m ill bc I don’t want to kill all men (just the bad ones) or ‘reflexively’ come to their rescue (I do believe I’ve told George and several others to FRO but you apparently didn’t catch any of that) can also fuck off, I’m serious and the rub, my dear, is that you want the last word. Consider it done. end of convo, do not address me with this BS again. I won’t respond.
Just noticing…why am I bothering to defend myself now? I really don’t care what your personal feelings are about ZL so why bother? I think you should go back to head shrinking school bc yeah I’ll admit, it annoys me that you feel you have the right to pick apart my pysche, or that you think I should care – just noticing…
Misch, I’ve made friends on the fly like that also, love that : ) I love all things coconut also.
Just noticing that I’m missing the red carpet part of the Oscars…bye! Luv, Zen Lill

Alycedale, or may I call you AcidMouth:
Since Michelle’s post today is ‘Just Noticing,’ I am just noticing that you have got a big problem. You spew hatred with your every word. Your cruel accusations of anyone having a “syndrome” highlights the fact that you certainly do.
You seem to be familiar with Psychotherapy and probably need many more years until you learn to lose the jealousy and raw hatred which has turned you into what you are; a vile mouthed accuser; a Woman on a mission of hatred.
You obviously have had a terrible experience with a male in the past, therefore you assume that ALL men are evil and no Woman should ever be friendly or agree with those horrible creatures.
We were created to LOVE each other. You do not seem to have learned that love is what makes the world go around . . . Not hatred. Perhaps another 20 years of therapy will help you reach that conclusion.
I do not know the exact name for your “syndrome,” but it is not very feminine. Grow up and learn to live in this world with tolerance for others who do not think exactly as you do. You seem to have the same bad traits as many of those men who have turned this society into the ugly place that it is.
Feminism is a good thing, which you turn ugly. And that my dear, is the rub.
Get a life!

Ah Mischa, in response to your comment to me…
Methinks the puppetmasters are working the strings of the red and the blue parties, in other words, we’ve got a 1 party system with 2 heads/names. I have been investigating a comment from Anonz, in a hint to me re the ptb, to blog about – oh two years ago – sorry for the delay but life was stressful and I didn’t have the concentration power I have now to go down that rabbit hole. …and in fact, while doing some readimng now, I just spotted the name of a book he’d recommended to read at the time, coincidental? I think not. I read the book and understood the depth of it but like I said, no time for rabbit holes then…
There’s a lot of media power (owned by ptb and front companies, very few free market media outlets) out there that gets us focused on the left hand while the right hand is doing all kinds of things that our minds can’t comprehend bc #1 they do not think like we do, while we are all capable being bad and good, these people are capable of much more and are pathological about it, for reasons we may or may not believe #2 it’s been in plan for a very long time & #3 it is all planned to play out and look like ‘natural events’ led things to be this way…nothing is unrelated, it is only reported in another spin so to throw us off the scent & #4 we are fed things to get concerned over like ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ (and other important news items but just mere distractions to them) #5 words/images and other subtext is carefully woven into most media reports, pay attention next time your viewing…
On that note, Misch, tomorrow bc I am in ‘hurry up and wait’ mode re: biz, so I will be avial and having some extra downtime till Weds at 5PM : ) have a few links and other things I’d like to discuss with you.
Luv, Zen Lill

I read Alycedale and while I didn’t agree with all she said, I didn’t see what you saw in her post.
It is you that is putting “hatred” into the equation. Both Zen Lill and Alycedale carried on a discussion with dignity and dignified discourse.
You entered the fray with derisive name calling and mean accusations all in the name of love. Practicing what you are preaching might be the better call here.
Interesting that you could say this in one paragraph “You seem to be familiar with Psychotherapy and probably need many more years until you learn to lose the jealousy and raw hatred which has turned you into what you are; a vile mouthed accuser; a Woman on a mission of hatred.”
And this in the next.”We were created to LOVE each other. You do not seem to have learned that love is what makes the world go around . . . Not hatred. Perhaps another 20 years of therapy will help you reach that conclusion.”
Perhaps you should yourself take your own advice to Alycedale and “Grow up and learn to live in this world with tolerance for others who do not think exactly as you do.”
You could start with your tolerance of Alycedale’s right to “think” differently than you do.

What I found most interesting about posing as a human is sight or rather your human eyes.
At first it was very difficult to navigate with your eyes. I had difficulty judging depth. Walking was especially dangerous because I could not tell the difference from a curb with a 3 inch depth or a 10 inch one.
I experienced dreams for the first time while slumbering in your body. My human wife is very comfortable with her dreams.
She expressed amusement when I said that I could do things in my sleep that the human body could not do awake.
She said “you dreamt you were flying didn’t you?” I was amazed that she had guessed that.
Our doctor said that you humans use what your brain has accumulated while it is learning to interpret what you are seeing from birth until you are about 6 to form dreams.
Dreams can act as an anesthesia while it heals the body in sleep. Dreams can activate a set of situations that will occur because you have willed them to while in rem sleep that incredibly mimics the ability of the Gods.
Dreams can foretell events that will occur because in a certain state they enable the being to enter a dimension that exist in the future but mirrors his own.
Dreams also act as a tension release valve. They can help the mind cope with the fear, anger and confusion that the everyday world brings to it.
Brains that do not have the ability to grant itself this relief to release it’s fear via dreams do it while in a conscious state. The being becomes one with a multiple personality disorder.
I am very happy that I can dream.

Zen Lill:
I received a message that Anonz was recovering from injuries he received in Northern Africa. I was not informed as to his whereabouts just he was making very good progress.
I also heard that he had dictated a series of comments that would be published in this blog at a later date. I do not know their contents or who will publish them.
Actually I don’t know if it has not already begun.
Looking forward to seeing you. I mean if Evelyn “recovers” from this pregnancy. Frankly, I have never seem a woman so enthralled by a growth within her belly.
Maybe I should have had another child while she was old enough to understand what was happening or exposed her to other pregnant women during that time.
I won’t make that mistake with my other daughters because they are constantly around Evelyn and actively immeshed into hers.
I sometimes feel that I have 4 or 5 pregnant daughters complaining or marveling that they are pregnant. I am so happy for Evelyn and Harris.
He is such a big brother, father figure, and best friend to my daughters while being an attentive devoted husband to my daughter.
He tries so hard to find time to sit with me over a cup of his “specially brewed coffee,” to just listen to me unburden myself.
Why didn’t I find a man like that in my day? It seems the two men in my life are the only truly exceptional men I have met.

It is almost 6:30 and the roads to the Two Lovers is still closed. Rumors are rampant of another UFO sighting. The government claims that the road is closed because a Chlorine gas was discovered in a wastewater treatment plant tank.
We are getting as close as we can with our field binoculars. Its wikkileaks time Guam stye.

My sentiments exactly Gloria.
Anonymous11 could be anyone of my relatives. They are always spouting their religious beliefs. While willing to support political party that revels in hate and bigotry.
They like #11 can praise god from one side of their mouths while claiming the superiority of our race and the inferiority of OTWs from the other side.
Alycedale and Zen Lill obviously see the world from different perspectives but at least they can be civil with each other.
Their discussions lends to the rest of us a little light to see ourselves better.
You #11 settled for disparaging the orator rather than her oration.

I love reading this blog. It is filled with the stuff of life. And the alien bit is like the icing of a delicious cake.
Zen Lill, my favorite female commentator, is ramping up to give us some inside scoop on the movers and shakers of this planet.
After reading Ruth I am left to wonder if her beau, Anonz didn’t send his secrete blog scrip to her.
Alycedale, I like Zen Lill because she speaks in an intelligent mode with a sexy woman’s slant. And the fact that she is a knockout beauty doesn’t hurt.
Just because she can see the other side of an argument doesn’t make her a “daddy’s girl.” I agree with Sharilyn. It adds to the information we can use to understand ourselves better.
She also makes for more interesting blog chatter. She brought in observations from Alycedale to Sharilyn. You have to admit the beauty has a gift for controversy.

Zen Lill
I hope you won’t allow Alycedale to get into your head and change the way you comment on how you see things. Here in Israel you are a very nice topic of convo.
I am a soldier and I sit with a few of my shekemists and basar tari to discuss the latest Zen Lill observations before we head out to our various check-point duties. I can’t tell you how much we miss your pictorial additions to the blog.
We do hope that you will consider making the life of soldiers on kadur toran in the Middle East happier by bringing back the “shots of ZEN LILL.”
You did promise us some full head shots and a full body shot. It is very much needed if we are going to have a poster in our canteen.
Reading your comments with their sexy under and overtones is always both entertaining and erotic.

Sorry I hit the send button before I was ready. Maybe just talking about you gets me going. If I make 21 before my tour is up I plan to go to LA for my birthday.
I don’t know anyone there but you Zen Lill. I’m not asking to meet you. I’m not your type, I am only 5’9″. I just want to see the city you live in.
A fan
