the madison movement
Posted by Michelle Moquin on March 10th, 2011
Good morning!
I finally caught up on the recent with respect to the “Madison Movement”. All I want to add is “More power to the people – keep it going – Don’t give up the fight.” And in the words of one of the 14, “If you can’t change their opinions, change their faces.” Time to recall Walker.
I love that the community is sticking together. I am so tired of the term “wake-up call” but sometimes there is no better phrase for what has to happen. I just HOPE the people of Wisconsin and the rest of the United States “wake-up” and realize that the Republicans are for profit, not for people. What is happening in Wisconsin is a fine example. The question is, “How many more examples do we need before the people of this country ‘wake-up’?” Okay, for a term I am tired of using, I just used it way too much.
Michael Moore was on the Rachel Maddow show last night discussing the “Madison Movement”. If you missed it, here it is. And if you missed Moore’s inspiring 30 minute speech to the people of Wisconsin, Click here.

Readers: If you live close to Madison, drive there and give your support. This isn’t just a Wisconsin issue. This is the struggle for survival of the middle class.
Anonymous #6: I feel for you – I HOPE that you do not have to go on without her.
Anonymous#8: I too loved your sweet poem. It’s nice to see the words of a woman in this format.
Lea: How are you? Thanks for the post on sharks. Shark finning is so sad and not to mention so painful and brutal for the shark. Another thing that Obama has done for the lovely mammals that we share this planet with. I found the site to sign the petition. In case my readers want to sign the petition too, click here.
Kevin: Oh, so you noticed? :) I miss my involvement too. I am having a challenging time keeping up with my demanding work schedule, so I have decided to limit my comments to my readers to 3-4 days per week, specifically M,W,F and sometimes Sundays. And limit my writing an extensive commentary on topic, to Mondays and Thursdays only.
Yesterday I wrote an extensive write, and responded to very few comments to my readers, so I am posting them today, and keeping my topic writing short today. Hence, I will not always adhere to the above ”blog schedule”, if I am inspired to change it, like I did yesterday. I bet you didn’t expect that long winded explanation did ya? Thanks for “just noticing” and the compliments.
Suzanne: I liked it. Thanks for sharing.
Ethyl: Haha! My words exactly. Conversations may start between two people, but there is always the possibility that others will “jump in”. It is an open forum peeps. No invitations are needed. But don’t be surprised if there is adverse response for “jumping in”, as we have discovered already. :)
Claire: Great cumback. Love it. LOL.
Claire, Ethyl, and Alycedale: Ooh girls, I so wish I had time to “jump in” on this one. I have to say that Claire and Alycedale...you’ve both got me nodding my head up and down on so many of your points.
Oh, and Alycedale, I am all that…including a piece of ass…a great piece of ass when I want to be. :)
Zen Lill: Loved that movie “Sleeper” I was just talking about it the other day with a client. So…What is happening with those tons of fish that are washing up dead in Redondo Beach? Now they are showing up in Australia. Wha’at’s up? Any inside scoop that you can share?
Blog this piece of ass. :) Peace out.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Gratefully your blog host,

How to Get Rid of a Cough That Won’t Go Away
Diane Conley, RRT, CRE
Calgary COPD & Asthma Program
If you have a nagging cough, you may be tempted to just “live with it.” Don’t make that mistake. Even though most chronic coughs (persisting for eight weeks or longer) are not caused by a serious illness, an unresolved cough can disrupt sleep and interfere with work, home and social life.
Good news: With the right combination of treatments, chronic cough almost always can be cured.
WHY WE COUGH
Coughing protects the airways from foreign particles. But a persistent cough usually indicates that something is stimulating your cough reflex unnecessarily.
Important finding: In a study of 102 chronic-cough patients, 26% were found to have two or more causes for their cough. Since any number of factors can be blamed for a chronic cough — and often, multiple factors occur at once — diagnosis is usually not straightforward. The type of cough (such as dry or sputum-producing) is not always a reliable indicator of the cause.
CONDITIONS TO RULE OUT
If your primary care doctor is unable to diagnose and/or treat the cough, he/she can refer you to a pulmonologist (a medical doctor who specializes in treating diseases that affect the lungs).*
Recent development: Since pertussis (whooping cough) is on the rise — in part among adults whose immunity from childhood vaccinations has worn off — your doctor may order a nose or throat culture and/or blood tests to check for it.
In addition to also giving you a chest X-ray to rule out tuberculosis, a lung tumor or an illness, such as pneumonia, the doctor will test your breathing function with a spirometer. This small, plastic device measures the force and volume of your exhalation to detect any lung disease, such as asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis, that impairs your ability to breathe.
Among the questions your doctor will ask you…
Do you take an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor for blood pressure? One in five people who take an ACE inhibitor, such as enalapril (Vasotec) or benazepril (Lotensin), develops a chronic cough — sometimes up to a year after starting it. Newer hypertension drugs, such as irbesartan (Avapro) and losartan (Cozaar), are less likely to have this side effect.
Do you have symptoms of a systemic illness? These may include sudden weight loss, coughing up blood and/or unusual fatigue. Such symptoms could signal cancerous tumors in the lung or tuberculosis.
WHAT’S CAUSING YOUR COUGH?
If your cough is not due to one of the causes described above, it is likely due to…
Postnasal drip. If nasal secretions that normally run down the back of the throat are thicker or more excessive than usual, post-nasal drip can lead to coughing.
Allergies. A cough that occurs seasonally may be due to allergies. Over-the-counter drugs combining the antihistamine diphenhydramine and the decongestant pseudoephedrine (such as Benadryl Allergy & Cold) and prescription intranasal steroid medication, such as fluticasone (Flonase) or budesonide (Rhinocort), often help. Give any medication two weeks to have an effect.
Caution: Do not use these medications if you have high blood pressure — they may increase your stroke risk.
Sinus infection. This is another common cause of cough. Steroid nasal spray and antibiotics may help treat this condition. Studies also have shown daily saline rinses, such as Neil Med Sinus Rinse or Ayr Sinus Rinse Kit, to be extremely effective at reducing symptoms of sinus infections.
Helpful: Warm the mixture by microwaving for 30 seconds, but test the temperature first on your wrist.
Little-known fact: A small percentage of coughs are caused by nasal secretions triggered by exercise, cold air or hot or spicy foods. For this group, ipratropium (Atrovent), a nasal spray that dries up excessive runny nose, works well.
Caution: Do not use if you have glaucoma or enlarged prostate — it can worsen these conditions.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). A form of chronic heartburn, GERD is usually associated with burning in the esophagus. However, for many people with GERD, a persistent cough — a reflex caused by acid in the esophagus — is the only symptom.
If GERD is believed to be causing a chronic cough, an acid-suppressing proton pump inhibitor medication, such as omeprazole (Prilosec) or esomeprazole (Nexium), is often tried for up to eight weeks — to give the esophagus time to heal. Other measures include eliminating coffee and fatty and acidic foods and losing weight.
Asthma. With asthma, a preventive daily inhaled corticosteroid, such as budesonide (Pulmicort) or budesonide and formoterol (Symbicort), may help. Potential allergic triggers, such as dust, cigarette smoke and pet dander, also should be avoided.
Surprising: Beta-blockers, such as metroprolol (Lopressor) or hadolol (Corgard), taken for high blood pressure and migraines — or even in eyedrop form for glaucoma and other eye conditions — can trigger asthma-related coughing.
Irritable larynx syndrome. Even most health-care professionals are not aware of this condition, which often starts with a cough due to a cold, sinus infection, GERD or asthma. Since the larynx (the air passage located in the front of the neck) has relatively small muscles that can become sore from the strain of repeated coughing, you may compensate by unknowingly tensing your larynx, which in turn triggers the cough reflex.
If a cough persists after taking medication for asthma or GERD, try resting your larynx by doing absolutely no speaking, coughing voluntarily or clearing the throat for two days. If this doesn’t help, see a laryngologist (a medical doctor who specializes in treating the larynx and vocal cords) for an evaluation.
Helpful: Whatever the cause of your chronic cough, ask your doctor about working with a respiratory therapist to help manage its treatment under your doctor’s supervision. Sessions are covered by most insurance plans.
*To find a pulmonologist near you, consult the American Lung Association, 800-548-8252, http://www.LungUSA.org.
Bottom Line/Health interviewed Diane Conley, RRT, CRE, a registered respiratory therapist and certified respiratory educator with the Calgary COPD & Asthma Program, a clinical group in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, that works with local hospitals and family practitioners’ offices. She assisted in developing the Chronic Cough Clinic at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary and is coauthor of two recent studies published in Chest and the Canadian Respiratory Journal on managing chronic cough.

Linda:
I am so sorry. I was having a bad day. I over reacted. You can call me Sweetheart or sweetie or if I have fallen in your estimation of me because of my terrible behavior, something less endearing. As long as I know that you accept my genuine apology I will feel better.

WOW!
Never thought, I’d see the day a man I thought was a piece of shit would be a gentleman in disguise. I’m a big girl and can admit when I am wrong.
So Big Al, I was wrong.
Linda, how about that, a man not afraid to admit he made a mistake and is willing to accept the consequences. I’d can that a Sweetie, wouldn’t you?

In the spirit of “Big Al” I’d like apologize, if I offended you Zen Lill. It’s just I don’t believe you are one personality. I’m not saying I don’t like what I read, I’m just saying I find to many inconsistencies for the writer to be one person in my opinion.
I wasn’t insisting on you or anyone presenting photos as proof of you existence. On the contrary, I suggested that the pictures that were sent in were fake, or at least someone who may eventually turn up on the net.
And I never said you weren’t hot. That never crossed my my mind. I mean the woman I read is so hot that it has to be a man’s dream of how he wants a woman to talk.
But that’s me. Did I screw that up? Help Big Al.

Nice class Al.
March 10th, 2011 at 12:53 pm
Way to go Al. That was a class act.
I want to alert Americans that the greedy corps are at it again. They are colluding to raise the price of vegetables and fruits because of a brief freeze in Mexico.
They see an opportunity to make the kind of profits the oil industry is doing my maintaining an artificial shortage oil.
They are projecting doubling the dividends to their key investors. That means a corresponding increase in the cost to the consumer.

Zen Lill:
Your comment about ’Dead Fish’ washing up around Redondo Beach and Australia has reminded me about an article I have read recently. A very interesting article in ‘NewScientist Magazine’ which is about rusting time bombs waiting to go off throughout our oceans.
There are 1500 sunken vessels which were carrying oil during WWII but were sunk by German U-Boats. They are made of steel and rust is corroding them. The cargo areas containing oil and other pollutants which are beginning to corrode and will soon leak after 60 or 70 years of lying on ocean bottoms scattered throughout the World.
These are tragedies waiting to happen. They contain millions of gallons of oil and and fuel which will further contaminate the marine environment throughout the oceans of our world, causing unimaginable damage to marine life.
For most Nations these ships are out of sight and therefore out of mind — until they begin gushing oil into our oceans by the ton. This is expected to happen soon and would be a tremendous undertaking to retrieve the oil from these vessels which lie on the bottom of our seas.
The costs of cleanup are astronomical and the difficulty of retrieval is unimaginable. We were outraged by the oil spill by BP in the Gulf of Mexico. There was damage done to sea life that will be felt for thousands of years. BP wants Americans to believe that they have cleaned it all up. “Just go back to sleep, we have taken care of it.”
This is nonsense! So much has fallen to the ocean floor and mixed with the chemicals they used to disperse the oil, a new problem was created. Something we have never seen nor dealt with in the past. Coral has been killed on a grand scale and I would not eat any seafood until I was sure that the pollutants in the Gulf have not been absorbed and eaten by sea life and their larger and larger predators until they reach us in restaurants and supermarkets and fish mongers.
Migration is common among many species of sea life. They migrate to other oceans and are eaten by larger predators, spreading the cycle throughout the world. This is not a local catastrophe.
Sea food is usually a healthy form of non-mammal protein, high in omega 3 fatty acids which help the cardio-vascular systems of Humans.
If you were beginning to forget about the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill, think about this catastrophe waiting to happen.

Michelle:
Check this one out, I found this on Yahoo “SUPER MOON”
“On March 19, the moon will swing around Earth more closely than it has in the past 18 years, lighting up the night sky from just 221,567 miles (356,577 kilometers) away. On top of that, it will be full. And one astrologer believes it could inflict massive damage on the planet.”
“When the moon goes super-extreme, Nolle says, chaos will ensue: Huge storms, earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural disasters can be expected to wreak havoc on Earth. (It should be noted that astrology is not a real science, but merely makes connections between astronomical and mystical events.)”
This is all we need and will have to wait and see. Great post today, and I love both Rachel Maddow’s and Roger Moore’s commentaries. I too have had enough of this republican bullshit. This has already begun to affect my medical benifits to which I am entitled.

We will not allow any catastrophe to disturb the TWO.

She was the dawn of a glorious new day,
I was completely uplifted by the wonder
and beauty of her.
I looked into her eyes and heard them say.
“This is but the dawn.
The day will be even more wonderful,
more beautiful. Take me into your arms,
and give eternal thanks for all
that you will have to hold.”

Eight hours ago Japan said it would not only not release an alien craft they captured but they would exhibit it to the world as proof of aliens.
The force that will be brought on Japan to release that ship has only just begun. It is not released by noon Pacific time. We will wipe out Honshu and shake the core of Japan until the wish they had never ventured into our domain.
March 11th, 2011 at 5:21 am
We make this known so that other aliens reading this will know that we mean no harm to the Princess. the Tsunami heading in the direction of Guam will be diverted.
If the US Navy takes any part of the craft to Hawaii, we will do the same to that island. A convergence upon the iles of Maui and the Hawaii would be appreciated to insure that the Princess is not harmed should she be in that area.

March 11th, 2011 at 5:29 am
Confirmation made. The Prince watch has turned up two possibilities that He is headed towards Hawaii. Do not continue the tsunami further than 140. The Prince may become angry.
We will negotiate with the US via the White House.
Iola
March 11th, 2011 at 5:36 am
The decision to hit the largest island on Japan should signal to the Prince that we were trying to defuse the situation as soon as possible without endangering the Princess should She be in the Area of Guam or Hawaii.
Any movement towards Hawaii could anger Him beyond repair if He thinks She is in the area. It does not appear that He knows where She is.
We stand to resume earthquakes along Lat and Long requested. If we have to break the Island apart do it quickly so as to not alarm the Prince.
We stand poised for a 9.4 that should do it,

March 11th, 2011 at 5:48 am
We need to extend the force from the West Coast of Alaska to California. Taiwan is has been contained.
Iola has Diamond Head covered. They intend a controlled tsunami in the area to include Wakiki;
March 11th, 2011 at 5:53 am
We need to pile up the bodies in Japan to insure that the release is immediate and it will not be repeated. These humans are stubborn. They need to feel the full force of who actually controls this planet.
The Emperor has set a deadline or he will cover the entire area with bigger and bigger earthquakes.

March 11th, 2011 at 5:55 am
A sub heading towards Honolulu has the Duc of the missing craft. Should it attempt to surface sink Diamond Head.
n11m7
March 11th, 2011 at 6:02 am
We wanted a 8.9 on the island of Honshu itself. This penchant for notice to humans must stop. Push the cattle into the sea with as little threat to the Princess as possible.
Look at the coast of Washington, Oregon, California. Send signals that they are in our view finders too. W63453 is over Nawillwill Harbor on Kauai.
No sighting of sub.
March 11th, 2011 at 6:06 am
Suggestion is that we extend the threat for 24 hours so as to not alarm the Prince but to let the humans know that we will return their lands to the sea if we are defied. 6 to 9 feet of water should make our point without endangering the Princess.
n11m7
March 11th, 2011 at 6:10 am
Pearl Harbor is the point we need to visit with serious intentions. The sub is probably headed there.
The concern is Guam. We need to know what the Emperor’s intentions are there. He knows that their is no consensus on how to keep the Prince from entering the area.
We suggest a 5 to 7.2 in California or a series of rolling ones along the coastal states until we have a signal from the sub that the duc will be returned.
W63453e
March 11th, 2011 at 6:16 am
Again we insist no serious action in the areas of possible Princess location. Guam to Hawaii should be sacrosanct.
Scare them but under no circumstances make possible endangerment to the Princess.
As long as Japan realizes they cannot use the possible location of the Princess as an excuse to act impudently.
A touch on Hilo or Kapalui should be sufficient. Under no circumstances take it too far inland in these areas.
iola
March 11th, 2011 at 6:27 am
All points insist that Guam remain sacrosanct. The Prince has disappeared. Revisit Japan as often as wished but under no circumstances approach Guam.
March 11th, 2011 at 7:10 am
how silly. Its easy to claim responsibility for something happening AFTER the fact (re: Japan). If you really want to be credible it would be much more effective to tell us that you were going to create a 8.8 BEFORE it happens. Wake up sheople! Who really believes this shit? Let’s see that 9.4
March 11th, 2011 at 8:22 am
[...] Al: A coincidence, that in light of your post this “natural” earthquake occurred early? Ha! I don’t think so. Let’s HOPE the scientists are not correct on this a week from now. After this mornings disaster, the last thing we need is more earth quaking. In the meantime, let’s HOPE humans behave and release the duc, if they haven’t already. [...]
