Good morning!

Perhaps this information might be useful to some of my readers out there.

Q: Is there a way to surf the Web anonymously so that the sites I visit don’t know that I have been there?

A: There are ways to surf anonymously, although there is no guarantee that what you do won’t be seen. Here are two options…

An anonymizer hides information that is coming from the user’s computer. It often is used by government agencies and corporations — it can make communication seem to come from an entirely different place. A company called Anonymizer (www.Anonymizer.com) is a major provider of this type of service for $80 a year.

Onion routing is another method of disguising the origin of most Internet activity. It can be complicated, making it more appropriate for advanced users. You can use onion routing for free through www.TorProject.org.

Anonymous: I know it’s late but thank you, and a good day to you as well.

Just wondering about Just wondering: Evidently it would not have been very hard if you had just asked it. I didn’t see a question asking me anything. Nothing. Now I’m annoyed. Dru asked: “What is wrong with answering the question? I would like to know when Anonz came in to.” (sic)  But, JW about JW: I didn’t see your question.

If you are asking how long Anonz has been on my blog, ask the question. I’ll repeat your comment to me: “How hard could it be to have just answered the question?” My answer is the same as above, “It would not have been very hard if you had just asked it.”

How to answer a question you never asked? “I have no fucking idea.”

Now…to answer the question you never asked: ”I have no fucking idea either. Read the archives. I enjoy my readers, and I’m grateful for them being here, but I have enough to do that deals with my blog than keep a running track of every person’s first time entry onto my blog.”

Does that answer your question? Oh that’s right…Zen Lill answered it. I HOPE you’re satisfied now. My suggestion? Next time try to be a little clearer in asking for what you want, before you give me wrath for not getting what you didn’t ask for in the first place. Is your head spinning or did you get that?

Howie: Thinking in the “now” keeps me sane. I used to have a tendency to dwell on the past and get anxious about the future. Again, your write was so interesting. And a Happy Passover to you et al.

Anonymous: Now that…is simply lovely.

Readers: Blog archives dated before January 17th 2008 are no longer available for viewing.

PEACE OUT.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

Gratefully your blog host,

    Vernon Schmidt

How long your appliances last isn’t just a matter of how well they’re built. How you treat them matters, too. Here are some simple tricks to keep your major appliances running as long as possible and avoid expensive
    repairs…

Dishwashers and clothes washers: Use less detergent. People tend to fill dishwasher soap cups to the brim and use the amount of clothes detergent recommended on the bottle or box. That’s way too much.

Modern dishwashers and washing machines use less water than those of decades past, so less detergent is needed.

Also, more powerful and concentrated detergents are available today. Using excessive amounts of detergent creates a soapy residue inside the machine that results in a buildup of mold and mildew, which smells and eats away at the rubber parts, shortening the appliance’s life.

In a dishwasher, try using just one-half to one full teaspoon of liquid or powder detergent. If that doesn’t clean your dishes — perhaps because you have hard water — gradually increase the amount up to one tablespoon.

If you have used too much detergent in the past, also use a dishwasher cleaner, available in most supermarkets, to remove soap residue. Leading brands include Glisten and Finish.

Alternative: Use solid tablets that include premeasured amounts of detergent. If you have soft water, split the tablets in half. Don’t use liquid gel packs, because they contain too much detergent and are too sudsy.

In a clothes washer, use just two tablespoons of regular detergent, or one tablespoon of concentrated detergent if you have soft water and your washer is a modern front-load or high-efficiency top-load machine.

If you have hard water and/or your clothes washer is not a modern front-load or high-efficiency top-load machine, use one-quarter of the amount of detergent recommended on the detergent label.

Only if you are washing extremely dirty clothes should you use the amount of detergent recommended on the label.

Clothes dryers: Clean out your dryer’s exhaust line at least once each year. If the plastic or flexible-metal ductwork that your electric dryer uses to vent hot air is clogged with lint, the dryer’s heating element will overheat and might fail.

Clogged lines can cause serious mechanical problems for gas dryers, too. And with either electric or gas, a clogged vent can double or triple the amount of energy required to dry a load of clothing.

On a gas dryer, the lint that builds up also can cause carbon monoxide to vent into the home and possibly start a fire.

If your dryer’s exhaust line is too long to clear out by hand, purchase a dryer-vent cleaning kit with a flexible extension rod long enough to reach the full length of your dryer’s exhaust line.

These are available at home-improvement stores for less than $50. Remember to clean both the portion of the exhaust line that leads from the dryer to the wall and the part inside the wall.

Refrigerators: If your older refrigerator’s rubber-door seal gaskets are becoming brittle, apply a layer of Vaseline to keep them supple. Reapply whenever the gasket feels dry to the touch.

It’s probably time to replace the gasket if it has cracked or split. Replacing door gaskets on older machines with screw-on gaskets is a labor-intensive job that usually costs $200 to $300 per door.

Also: On most refrigerators, you need to clean the coil — the metal piping typically located behind a removable panel at the base of or behind the refrigerator — at least once a year.

Clean it at least twice a year if a dog or cat that sheds lives in the home. A refrigerator’s compressor is forced to work much harder when the coil is coated with dust or pet hair.

That can cause overheating and compressor failure. Having a new compressor installed is likely to cost more than $400 in parts and labor.

Your refrigerator’s manual should include directions for cleaning the coil. Even if the owner’s manual says that the coil is self-cleaning, it still needs to be cleaned at least once a year.

I have never seen a clean “self-clean” coil on a refrigerator after two years of use.

Ovens: There isn’t much you can do to extend the life of an oven, but there is something you can do to reduce the odds that it will fail at a particularly inconvenient moment. Best: Wait until after the November/December holidays to run the self-cleaning cycle.

People tend to run oven self-cleaning cycles immediately before big cooking days, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving and important dinner parties. Unfortunately, ovens are most likely to fail during or soon after these self-cleaning cycles because of the very high temperatures involved.

It isn’t easy to get a broken oven fixed around the holidays, either — appliance repair shops and parts distributors often are closed.

Personal interviewed Vernon Schmidt, who has more than 35 years of experience in appliance repair.

Currently he is service operations manager for Clark Appliance in Indianapolis. He also answers appliance questions through his RefrigDoc.com Web site and is author of The Appliance Handbook for Women:

Simple Enough Even Men Can Understand (AuthorHouse), available through Amazon.com and http://RefrigDoc.com.

Looks like Anonz was right again. More and more money is being authorized for the build up of troops coming to our island.
    ==========================
GUAM – The price tag for the Guam military buildup will exceed the planned $10 billion as the duration and makeup of the transfer of U.S. Marines from Okinawa change, according to a senior official involved in planning and cost estimates.

“Any layman that looks at an agreement in 2006 and sees it again in 2011 is going to realize that the $10 billion number will grow,” U.S. Marine Corps Pacific Division Policy Director Bryan Wood told GuamBuildupnews.com. “We’re continuing to look at the number and working with the Department of Defense now to come up with a whole program projected cost.”

In 2006, the cost of the transfer of Marines from Okinawa to Guam – then seen as a force of 8,000 Marines plus dependants and support staff – was estimated at slightly more than $10 billion, with about $6 billion coming from the government of Japan and the rest from U.S. federal government sources.

The deadline for the buildup has since been delayed to 2016 from 2014 amid preparatory work such as architectural and engineering planning and a Marine Corps “pre-decisional” policy document dated March 24 obtained by GuamBuildupNews.com also hints that the final elements of the buildup could be in place only after 2016. It also raises the possibility of boosting the number of Marines to be transferred to 9,700, an increase of about 13 percent.

About $1.2 billion has already been appropriated for construction spending related to the Guam military buildup, not including the $420 million in the Japanese government’s fiscal year 2011 budget and buildup provisions in the U.S. budget signed last week by President Obama.

“Congress has asked for this cost study,” Wood said. “Anyone will understand that the (price tag) number needs to rise. What Congress wants is a full costing timeline of individual MilCon projects through the end of the buildup program. We are working on a ‘Cost to Complete’ study.”

Possible changes to the buildup plans cited in the March 24 policy document could include increasing the portion of infantry personnel in the transferred force, and that could alter the type of housing and infrastructure required.

“It may mean more barracks and a little less family housing, but overall, we will have about the same type of cantonment,” Wood said.

Wood said the concept is one of several being floated within the Department of Defense, and would still be within the boundaries of the final environmental impact for the Guam buildup. The buildup’s 2010 Environmental Impact Statement caps the total transfer at a potential 10,500 active duty Marines.

“It’s not a plan. It’s a discussion concept,” Mr. Wood cautioned. “We’re looking at alternate laydowns for discussion purposes, and even (Assistant Secretary of the Navy) Jackalyn Pfannenstiel in her recent testimony in Congress stated that we continue to look at proper mix and uses.”

The policy document was “a discussion brief for a working meeting of lawyers,” Wood said. “This was meant as a talking paper in a meeting. It’s not a decision paper. It was just meant as talking points.”

    =========================
The greedy criminals are already here now for the influx of the general criminals with all the seedy and terrible crimes they will bring with them.

We have not had a one to one chat in a while. I look forward to hearing your opinions and telling you mine.

In the past few days I have explained what the Duc actually is and how it was modified into a time machine in which the user(s) can take part in the past instead of just watching it, as do AH and Adam. I tried to take a complicated topic and make it cleat to the average human without a PhD in Astrophysics. I also wanted some of the ‘Brainy’ Aliens to understand the theory behind it and the changes made to it by Adam and Tony.

When I mention ‘Brainy’ Aliens I am referring to Iola and Kial of April 16th and the morning of the 17th before the new Post. You guys are high in the I.Q. department among Aliens. Tal and the Emperor have got the title of “Super Intelligent” as far as Aliens I have been told of.

Most Aliens would give anything to have this technology. Luckily, Adam and AH do have it, and have been broadcasting old Roy Rogers, the ‘Singing Cowboy,’ as well as Gene Autry and the Lone Ranger and his Native American companion, Tonto into space.

Many Aliens who will arrive here expecting to see the ‘Wild West’ when they arrive. They will be disappointed.

The more knowledgeable Aliens who have been hanging around Earth for a while know this to be false. The know what movies are and have a more realistic knowledge of what our ‘Present’ is all about, with Global Warming, Nuclear Pollution, the Dying-off of species by the thousands and our insane Politics.

Hi Mischa, good one, might have to try one of those sites…might protect my identity but in that regard I think I’m already outted : ) oh well.

Howie, it’s funny (and I know you’ll think it is, too) but suddenly I feel honored to be addressed by you : ) you have all this incredible information and you present it in such a cohesive manner, it is much appreciated. As far as rude newbies, ahhh, I cut em’ some slack bc even when I went back to reread some of the archives it was at times, hard to follow. It’s very stream of consciousness writing most of the time which is defintely part of its appeal and certainly lends itself to the addictive quality of it.

Although, I don’t like rudeness in general and particularly if you are asking me a question, – hey, be polite and you’ll get an answer – but, don’t ask a question and then =demand= an answer bc my ‘Mt Vesuvius’ temper (hidden deep within my zenishness for a very long time now), might just go off : ). =sigh= I hate returning rudeness with rudeness also bc that doesn’t serve anyone, oh what to do, what to do, hmm, how about ignoring it (demand/rude request) as we do when someone new (or old) decides they know us better than we know us (or ourselves) and decides to ‘out’ you/me/whoever. I think that’s a plan for me : ) Whatdya think of that idea?

Tax Day is coming on Monday. And Michael Moore has a message about why you should join with other MoveOn members and fellow progressive groups in San Francisco to call out the big corporations who aren’t paying their taxes while programs to create jobs and help the needy get cut.

    Dear

Do you wonder (like I do) what the tax accountants and executives are doing over at GE this weekend? Frantically rushing to fill out their IRS returns like the rest of us?

Hardly. They’re taking the weekend off to throw themselves a big party and have a hearty laugh at all of us. It must really crack them up to see us like suckers scurrying around to make sure we report everything to Uncle Sam—and even send him a check, if necessary.

The joke’s on us, folks. GE and tons of other corporations will have a tax bill for 2010 of ZERO. GE had $14.2 billion in profits in 2010.

Yet they will contribute NOTHING to the federal government while every last dime is soaked from us.1

In the latest budget deal, our politicians could have tackled the deficit by stopping the flow of these ill-gotten billions to corporations.

Instead they cut billions from “wasteful” programs that do “wasteful” things, like create new jobs, drive economic growth, and help the needy and our nation’s children. It’s Democracy in reverse and it sickens me.

GE spends $20 million a year to lobby Congress to throw themselves this party.2 But do you know what speaks louder than $20 million? 20 million votes! 20 million people, and more, standing together and taking to the streets. That starts now, with you.

This coming Monday, April 18 is Tax Day—and that’s the day when “we the people” will demand our country back from these corporations in events all across the country.

The folks at MoveOn tell me that the nearest event to you is in San Francisco. I hope you’ll be there:

    Host: Lawrence A—fellow MoveOn member
Where: Wells Fargo Headquarters (in San Francisco)
When: Monday, Apr. 18, 2011, at 4:30 PM

    RSVP by clicking here
This Monday, MoveOn members—along with union, community, and environmental allies—will gather outside the headquarters and local offices of the biggest corporate tax dodgers to deliver tax bills from the American people. And we’ll demand that our leaders make these corporate deadbeats pay.

We’re doing this because we don’t buy into the Big Lie: that greedy teachers caused the crash on Wall Street! That the selfish firefighters sent millions of jobs overseas! That pregnant woman, infants, and children are sending us into deficit!

No, it was the big corporations that did this. It was the CEOs and the top 1% of the country. THEY brought on the mortgage crisis.

THEY made off with trillions of dollars from our economy. THEY are systematically destroying the middle class. And THEY have bought and sold the very people elected to represent us!

This Monday we will call them out—can you join in?

On Monday, we will have something to say to Exxon, Chevron, and the big banks that crashed our economy and got billions in bailouts, like Citigroup and Bank of America, who pay little or no federal income tax. In fact, the IRS will likely give them a tax REBATE.3 If that doesn’t boggle your mind then nothing will.

The Tax Day events are about sending this message: We are coming after you, we are stopping you and we are going to return the money, jobs, and homes you stole from the people. This is your tipping point, Corporate America. And I, for one, am glad it’s going to happen this Monday.

If you’ve never been to an event like this before, this is the time. And don’t go alone, because none of us can win this fight by ourselves.

Plus, it’s more fun and exciting to go along with friends and family to be part of real democracy in action—not the store-bought kind Big Business gets on Capitol Hill.

I really hope you can make it. Click here to RSVP:

    http://pol.moveon.org/event/events/event.html?event_id=114239&id=26978-7692656-kOCAj7x&t=5

This is our chance, my friends. Take the time on Monday to make your voice heard. I can guarantee you I will. Please join me.

    Sincerely,
    Michael Moore

  15. She Says:

The poems that I have written here, have all been written in another location prior to appearing here. I don’t sign my name on this blog because my lover asks me not to. Apparently I needed a reminder today that humans are greedy opportunists.

    Danny, a plageristic little turd
Tried to steal my written word
And should he put them into print
He’ll find a hell comes with his stint
For when he lays his head at night
He’ll remember me when he feels the bite
I offer all my friends your neck
They have permission to take a peck
Over and over, it will never end
We don’t take lightly to those that offend

Keith, thanks for letting me know. It worked for me on two computers but I’ve got my Brazilian tech man checking into all technical difficulties, from now in I will follow Mischa’s lead and put a ‘click here’ if you can’t access video.

Today is ‘weight set point’ info along with Dove beauty video and if you haven’t seen that video it’s well wirth checking out, haven’t we had enough of the media telling us how we meed to look??

Speaking of cool vids, Mischa I am embarassed to say I have never looked at your ‘about’ page or ‘wardrobe’ page and that video is excellent, as is the hot pic at (is it) Burning Man, you have got one rockin’ bod BABE : )

Catch you all later, oh – She – right on, Danny and all the rest of you trying to cash in on stories told here, maybe you should just appreciate this space instead of trying to lift info/stories/etc from those of us who just love being here for your love of $’s? Try giving something of yourselves and expecting nothing in return, isn’t that what the BABE offers you everyday??

    Luv, Zen Lill

Spotted on an e-card today: “Let’s hope America isn’t the fourth venture Donald Trump bankrupts.”
