Tribal Baroque

Good morning!

Doug and I went to a party last night in Mill Valley, in an old church remodeled into an artist’s abode/studio. We witnessed a very interesting dual between two performers who at first seemed very opposing, until they started performing, and then…they melded as if they were meant to be.

He, Thoth, dark-skinned, tribal like in his appearance, while she  Lila ‘Angelique, pale-skinned, dressed all in white, shimmering in silver and feathers. Together they both share the love of violin and opera.

And when they come together in union, it is a beautiful haunting of times past, a romantic worldly divineness that evokes not only the ethereal goddess in me, but stirs a passion in the very raw.

The dichotomy…was breathtaking. The result, is Tribal Baroque.

Here is a little taste of what the dual does. However to see them live is a treat one should not miss. For my local readers, you can see Tribal Baroque in Golden Gate Park today near the Conservatory of Flowers. Everyone else, check out their website.

Enjoy.

It was an amazing mix of musical styles. It is great to learn more about Thoth, and his protoge. It was grand to watch such pure expression of music from the heart. My producer’s “cap” heard some great production possibilities with rhythm and drums…then, in their second set, the drummer joined in…then, he offered me a drum, too. It was transcending. My mind is reeling with new ideas…

    Michelle:

I was reading the News on my computer this morning and ran into an interesting article by the Huffington Post, titled: ‘White House Correspondents Dinner: Obama Takes On Trump, Birthers, The Media, And More‘. The photo of the President smirking is also precious. This is the article:

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama exercised his revenge Saturday after weeks of attacks from his would-be Republican challenger Donald Trump, joking that the billionaire businessman could bring change to the White House, transforming it from a stately mansion into a tacky casino with a whirlpool in the garden.

With Trump in attendance, Obama used the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner to mock the reality TV star’s presidential ambitions. The president said Trump has shown the acumen of a future president, from firing Gary Busey on a recent episode of “Celebrity Apprentice” to focusing so much time on conspiracy theories about Obama’s birthplace.

After a week when Obama released his long-form Hawaii birth certificate, he said Trump could now focus on the serious issues, from whether the moon landing actually happened to “where are Biggie and Tupac?”

“No one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than ‘the Donald,’” Obama said, referring to Trump’s claims the same day that he was responsible for solving the issue.
For Trump’s decision to fire actor Busey instead of rock singer Meat Loaf from his TV show earlier this month, Obama quipped: “These are the types of decisions that would keep me up at night. Well handled, sir.”

Trump chuckled at some of the earlier jokes, but was clearly less amused as comedian Seth Meyers picked up where Obama left off.

“Donald Trump often talks about running as a Republican, which is surprising,” said the Saturday Night Live actor, entrusted with providing some of the comedy for the evening. “I just assumed he was running as a joke.”

Trump stared icily at Meyers as he continued to criticize the real estate tycoon.
The two men found themselves in the same room after an intense week of attacks from Trump, who has piggybacked on the birther conspiracies and even Obama’s refusal to release his university grades to raise the profile of his possible presidential bid.
And the birth certificate was clearly the key punchline for the evening, which typically offers the president a chance to show off his humorous side and a town consumed by politics and partisanship to enjoy a light-hearted affair.

I would like to remind your blog readers that May 1 is Holocaust Day (Yom HaShoah) in remembrance of the Millions of souls of all Races and Religions who were brutally killed in the Holocaust by the Nazis.

I, for one, will never forget.

Nice summation Howie. I found the HP and it was a good start on Trump.

I sitting here wondering how I can see my beautiful baby’s gorgeous body. We have the technology, but technically it can’t be done.

So at last, I’m stuck looking at her name, but not her body.

  7. Robert Says:

Osama Bin Laden was killed several days ago. His body was returned to the US for DNA confirmation. I am pleased that he was brought to justice, but he is not the face of evil that the white boy is placing on Bin Laden.

Just because he killed a few white boys doesn’t make him the face of evil. The face of evil belongs to those white americans that bombed the church that killed innocent school girls. The face of evil belongs to those white boys that murdered 12 million American indians.

The FACE OF EVIL belongs to the evil white american boy. This is not a time for the kind of celebration the white boy wants to whip us into. It is a form of “Just-Us” justice that the white boy is known for.

We hear about a man that has cost “so many Americans” their lives. Let me remind you white Americans that OTWs that are “so many Americans” too. So when those among you race murder us, maim us, imprison us, frame us, and denigrate the President that brought the man you call the face of evil to justice, you show us the true FACE OF EVIL!

    Robert

  8. Ichiro Says:

Robert, I was about to say you couldn’t even stop your tirade against white people to celebrate the death of Osama bin Laden. The Debra Burlingame came on and began immediately playing politics in her response to the news of the death of the man who killed her husband.

Her remarks were she would have liked to be thanking Bush. And she immediately tried to take away any credit that should go to President Obama by falling on the canard that we should thank our military.

Whites can sometimes be insensitive to the feelings of others. I will admit that President Obama will probably not be given the credit he deserves for not taking his eyes off the boll Mr. Bill Doyle who lost his son in 911 made it clear when he said that when Bush said “Mission Accomplished,” he asked himself what “Mission Accomplished?” Bin Laden was still at large and plotting new things against us.

    Ichiro

  9. From the Desk of Anonz Says:

It will be learned that the operation to get Osama Bin Laden did not involve any Pakistani military or police help. Bin laden operated with the total cooperation of the Pakistani military. President Obama ordered the operation without considering any participation by Pakistan. The Navy Seals did their jobs with exact precision.

Pakistan was not alerted to the operation until Osama bin laden was on a plane to the US. DNA confirmation was completed in Germany and the body was delivered to Washington DC late tonight.

The battle involved 27 military fighters. They entered the compound and the fire fight was engaged immediately. The scene involved many women and children but none were killed or injured. Osama died in route from his wounds. All efforts were made to take him alive.

I will not discuss the intelligence that was recovered from the compound and but Osama bin laden second was not there but he is in custody.

  10. Health Info Says:

    OBESITY AND ESOPHAGEAL CANCER

Some complications of obesity are well-known. Increased risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes top the list, but according to the National Cancer Institute, obesity also increases the risk for cancers of the colon, breast (in postmenopausal women), endometrium, kidney and esophagus and is associated with increased risk for cancer of the gallbladder, ovaries and pancreas.

How significant is the link? The National Cancer Institute reports that overweight and obese individuals are twice as likely to develop a specific type of esophageal cancer called esophageal adenocarcinoma than people of a healthy weight.

The incidence of adenocarcinoma has increased 350% over the past three decades, while obesity levels have also climbed.

Researchers have attempted to connect the dots between obesity and this somewhat rare (about 7,000 new cases a year) cancer. The trail starts with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which is strongly associated with adenocarcinoma, I was told by Leo Galland, MD, author of The Fat Resistance Diet.

He explained that compared with people with acid reflux who are not overweight, overweight people with acid reflux are more likely to develop Barrett’s esophagus. This is a condition in which the cells lining the lower part of the esophagus change into or are replaced by pre-cancerous cells.

Barrett’s esophagus is caused by exposure of the esophageal lining to stomach acid and bile. A small percentage of those with Barrett’s (“perhaps only 1%”) go on to develop full-blown cancer, said Dr. Galland.

WHERE DOES THE CANCER COME FROM?

What’s the connection between obesity and esophageal cancer? Researchers don’t yet know for sure, though they do have some theories. As with so many conditions, it seems a probable culprit is inflammation, the body’s way of reacting to infection or injury. Inflammation revs up the immune system and, when chronic, can have serious, degenerative effects throughout the body.

“Inflammation promotes cancer,” Dr. Galland pointed out, and people with abdominal obesity have metabolic disturbances, including inflammation. Dr. Galland believes that this excessive inflammation increases the risk for esophageal cancer.

The most obvious measure to reduce your risk for esophageal cancer, as well as for other conditions associated with obesity, is to lose weight. According to Dr. Galland, people who follow his “Fat Resistance Diet” program often experience relief of reflux symptoms immediately, even before they’ve lost much weight.

“It’s the change in the eating pattern that does it,” he explains, noting that this is because of the emphasis on foods with lots of omega-3 fatty acids, found in cold water fatty fish, walnuts and flaxseeds, along with brightly colored fruits and vegetables, including berries and apples, which are loaded with anti-inflammatory plant compounds like ellagitannins, anthocyanins and the flavonoid quercetin.

Additionally, Dr. Galland recommends calcium (250 to 500 mg) immediately after meals, to help tame the acid reflux from the stomach that can potentially lead to increased risk. “Calcium helps the esophagus resist the reflux of stomach contents and can tighten the valve between the stomach and the esophagus,” he explained.

To achieve this toning effect quickly, in order to prevent post-meal discomfort, he suggests buying calcium citrate in capsule form. Open up the capsule, dissolve the calcium in water and drink it down.

Get a free one-day meal plan with recipes by visiting Dr. Galland’s Web site at http://www.fatresistancediet.com/trial.

Source(s): ??Leo Galland, MD, is board-certified in internal medicine and practices in New York. Dr. Galland has received international recognition as a leader in the field of nutritional medicine for the past 20 years and is author of more than 30 scientific articles and textbook chapters.

  11. Angelo Says:

White americans are ecstatic with the death of Osama bin Laden. They will not only expect but demand that the OTWs of America celebrate with them. But even in this celebration the white american is looking to place the credit in a place other than the administration of a black President.

Do not be surprised if white america doesn’t attempt to bring an attack on Islam. There will be many claims of the win of Jesus over Allah.
