9/11 Remembered 10 Years After

I really didn’t know what to write today, but whatever I wrote I knew that the devastating day of 9/11 was going to be the topic.

I, like so many others remember the tragic morning of 9/11. We had just come back  a few days prior, from our first experience at Burning ManI was feeling so much love and HOPE, that I wanted to continue to hold on and carry that feeling from the past week into my life  for as long as I could. It was such a moving and memorable experience…I felt such a connection to the people, who rejoiced in art, music, and dance, in the spirit of community…in the spirit of life, that I actually shed tears as we drove away from the playa.

I woke up the morning of 9/11, in good spirits only to receive a phone call of the tragic news. I ran to my television, turned it on, and watched the tower in flames, only to see the second tower get hit. I could feel my HOPEful thoughts of the previous week drain from my heart…my gasping breath and words of “Oh my God” as I clasped my mouth and tears streamed down my face, was all that I could say.

It was a day for me, like for so many others, a day that will never be forgotten. For those of you that lost your loved ones, my heart and good thoughts go out to you and yours.

September 11 Anniversary: Ground Zero Ceremony Live Feed

Dignitaries from around the country, including President Barack Obama and former president George W. Bush, are gathered at Ground Zero for ceremonies marking the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. Joining them will be victims’ families to help remember and honor those who were killed on that tragic day.

After two moments of silence to mark the exact times that each plane hit the World Trade Center towers that morning, Obama will read a passage from Psalm 46.

Above is live video from the scene via MSNBC. Follow the events this morning in our live blog.

Pick a fight with a liberal on:

    FAIRNESS.
The top 5 percent of taxpayers contribute 60 percent of government revenue; the top 10 percent of taxpayers contribute 75 percent of revenue; another two-fifths make up the rest. Half the U.S. population is now exempt from paying tax. 2012 may turn out to be the first presidential election in American history where non-taxpaying voters outnumber taxpaying voters. At this point, remind the liberal: “Still, I guess the imbalance will find a way of working itself out in the end. Your side thinks it can go on taking more and more of our money. Our side has most of the guns and ammunition.”

    =======REBUTTAL=======
As usual the slick republican lies to both his rank and file and the potential other sucker.

The truth is that the top 1% of the american people own 90% of its wealth. By the way the republicans failed to tell you that they have written tax laws that eatable that 1% to pay less than The rest of the 10% most of them pay no taxes at all.

But that is not revealed in this slick presentation appealing to the “John Wayne” attitude that everything can be solved at the point of a gun.

Also notice that the white boy has to emphasize that they will have the fire power.

Less we forget history, that is how the white boy went around the globe in the height of his days of genocidal colonialism with the fire power to exploit, rape, and murder at will.

So this group of liars and manipulators tell you the lie that 10% of the taxpayers pay 75% of the revenue.

The truth is in the fact that they want you to think that the 1% that hold all the money and who they protect with bought and paid for tax laws are part of that 10%.

They end with the threat that they have most of the guns and ammunition. Interesting that the law doesn’t matter when they figure they are going to lose the legal fight.

This points out another hypocrisy that they exploit – their claim in the belief in law and order and the Constitution of the United States of America.

They believe in their Just-Us justice system. The one that makes the America’s Affirmative Action Beneficiaries.

Here they are applying it to an even smaller group. But that’s the way of the greedy.

Unfortunately, they have made two fatal mistakes. 1). That 1% will never allow them to become part of their privileged group; and 2). Their pack with “most of the guns and ammunition” won’t have the stomach for a fight they could lose their lives in.

As for “Fairness,” these bought and paid for legislators interpret that to mean something that benefits them or their owners.

It is fair to them that the corporation has more rights that the american citizen.

It is fair to them that 1% of the country should have and control 90% of all the country’s wealth.

It’s fair to them that most of the country should not be able to afford basic health care.

It is fair to them that industries that impact our environment, health, and finances should not be regulated.

What isn’t fair to them is that ALL the people of the United States of America should have a say in what is fair in our country.

    Robert

  2. A citizen Says:

My two cents about 9/11 is fuck 9/11. All this reverent remembrance is just another ploy by the rich manipulative white boy to advance his agenda politically.

If they really cared about what happened, they would have shown the arabs by immediately rebuilding. That would have shown the world what we are made of. Action speak much louder that the rhetoric that we will spill today.

But that didn’t happen because that same group of manipulators couldn’t agree on who would get the biggest slice of the government money to re build. So 11 years later we are still celebrating around a hole in the ground. And we are being told to keep us from discussing their greed and incompetence in rebuilding that if we say anything negative on this day we are un-American.

Fuck them! It is un-American to have that hole in the ground for 11 years. Other countries have built whole cities in that time. It is shameful. But as usual the average white boy is so dumb that he is content to wallow in his grief because he loves having an excuse to hate another race, religion, lifestyle.

That’s what make this work for that slick criminal 1%. They keep telling the white boy how special he is and he “never forgets” the injuries done to him, while perfectly willing to tell anyone else to get over it.

    and true patriot

  3. Health Info Says:

Natural Remedies a Pharmacist Has in Her Own Medicine Cabinet

    Suzy Cohen, RPh

As a pharmacist for more than two decades, Suzy Cohen knows the importance of medication —

but she also has learned to “think outside the pill” and recommend natural options that often are just as good or better at promoting health without the risk of dangerous side effects.

Here are the remedies she recommends most often. All are free of significant side effects unless otherwise noted, but always talk with your doctor before using any supplements.

    TEA TREE OIL FOR WOUNDS
This oil kills germs, reduces pain and helps wounds heal more quickly. You can use it in place of antibiotic ointment for minor cuts, scratches and burns… to treat toenail fungus… and, when diluted, as a gargle to kill the germs that cause sore throat.

How it works: It’s a strong antiseptic that kills bacteria as well as fungi.

How to use: Moisten a cotton ball or swab with one or two drops of the oil, and apply it to the area two to three times daily until it heals.

For a gargle for sore throat: Mix a few drops in a cup of water, gargle and spit it out. Caution: Do not swallow it.

    GINGER FOR NAUSEA
Studies have shown that ginger can relieve nausea — due to pregnancy, seasickness, etc. — as well as or better than over-the-counter drugs.

How it works: Ginger increases the pH of stomach acid, reducing its acidity. In one study, published in The Lancet, volunteers were given either ginger or Dramamine (a nausea-preventing drug), then were seated in a chair designed to trigger motion sickness.

Those given ginger were able to withstand the motion 57% longer than those given the drug.

How to use: Put one teaspoon of peeled, grated fresh gingerroot in a cup of boiling water. Let it steep for 10 minutes, then drink (you can filter out the ginger if you want).

Or chew and swallow a piece of crystallized ginger, sold in health-food stores.

Caution: Ginger can increase the risk of bleeding when taken with blood-thinning drugs, such as warfarin (Coumadin).

    RHODIOLA ROSEA FOR STRESS
This herb acts like a natural form of Valium by reducing physical and emotional stress. The supplement is made from the root of the Siberian plant.

How it works: Herbalists classify Rhodiola as an adaptogen, a class of herbs that “sense” chemicals in the body and either raise or lower them.

It normalizes levels of brain chemicals that affect mood, such as monoamines and beta-endorphins, which help counter the effects of stress. Rhodiola also may increase serotonin, which enhances feelings of well-being.

How to use: During times of stress, take 100 milligrams (mg) of rhodiola rosea in capsule form, two to three times daily. It’s best taken on a cyclical basis — two months on, two weeks off.

    CALCIUM PLUS MAGNESIUM FOR CRAMPS
People who experience frequent and/or painful menstrual or muscle cramps often have a deficiency of calcium and magnesium.

How it works: Calcium and magnesium regulate the contraction and relaxation of muscles.

How to use: Before going to bed, take 500 mg to 600 mg of calcium, along with 150 mg to 200 mg of magnesium (using the chelate or glycinate forms — check the label). Combination formulas are easy to find and fine to use.

For menstrual problems, start 10 days before you expect your period to begin each month and continue until your period is complete.

    GABA FOR INSOMNIA
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a neurotransmitter (mood-related brain chemical) that is naturally present in the body.

It’s taken in supplement form to reduce insomnia, as well as anxiety and depression.

How it works: GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that slows activity in the brain and makes it easier to fall asleep.

How to use: Take 500 mg to 1,000 mg one hour before bedtime if you have trouble getting to sleep. If your problem is that you wake in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep, take it then.

Don’t exceed recommended doses on the package. Do this for two weeks. If it doesn’t help, talk to your doctor.

Caution: Combining GABA with prescription or over-the-counter sleep aids can cause excessive sedation.

    CAPSAICIN CREAM FOR PAIN
Capsaicin is the chemical compound that puts the “hot” in chili peppers. It is effective for easing muscle aches, back and joint pain and nerve pain caused by the herpes virus (post-herpetic neuralgia).

How it works: When applied as a cream, it causes nerve cells to empty their reservoirs of substance P, a pain-causing chemical. This results in less pain from the underlying disorder.

How to use: Start with a 0.025% concentration. Apply it two to three times daily — the initial burning sensation diminishes with continued use.

If needed, you can always buy the stronger 0.075% concentration — but it’s best to work your way up to this strength.

Caution: Wear latex gloves when applying capsaicin — and wash your hands thoroughly after using to prevent residual cream from getting into the eyes, nose, etc.

    PROBIOTICS FOR DIGESTIVE DISCOMFORT
A healthy digestive tract contains trillions of bacteria, many of which have beneficial effects.

These so-called “good” (probiotic) organisms promote digestive health, improve immunity and aid in the synthesis of B vitamins, among many other functions.

How they work: Probiotic supplements replenish beneficial bacteria and crowd out harmful organisms that can cause gas, bloating, diarrhea and other digestive problems.

How to use: Take a daily supplement of a least 10 billion organisms that contains a variety of living organisms, such as L. bulgaricus, L. bifida and B. longum. Some yogurts contain these live active cultures, but avoid those that contain sugar or artificial sweeteners.

    BIOTIN FOR CRACKED NAILS
The B vitamin biotin is the only nutrient that has been shown to improve nail health in generally healthy adults. People with a deficiency of biotin often have fragile nails that crack easily.

How it works: Biotin is absorbed by the nail matrix, the part under the fingernail where nail cells are generated.

How to use: Take 2,000 micrograms (mcg) to 4,000 mcg of biotin daily, as well as a B-complex supplement.

Most people will notice an improvement in nail strength and thickness in one to two months.

Personal interviewed Suzy Cohen, RPh, a registered practicing pharmacist for more than 20 years and author of The 24-Hour Pharmacist (HarperCollins). Her syndicated newspaper column, “Dear Pharmacist,” reaches 20 million readers.

You nailed it citizen! I am an arab american and I am tired of taking white america’s bigoted shit.

No one went around hating every white hick with a pick up truck when Timothy McVeigh blew up 600 plus men women and children.

Hell, we don’t remember it at all because that was a white boy crime. Can anyone tell you what day it happened?

    It was April 19, 2010 at 3:40pm.

Are their deaths less important because they were not in a big fancy rich man’s building? Or was it because this was just another tragedy caused by a white boy?

    Fuck 9/11, I remember 4/19.

    David

  5. Anonymous Says:

David: You are not very good with dates, Mcveigh did his crime exactly 16 years prior the date you specify (4/19/1995).

If you remember 4/19/2010 so well as the day the Murdock Building was blown up, I say you are full of shit, and could careless about either attack. Both incidences were a tradgic and needless loss of life. Being you are here only to cause trouble, I suggest learning how to use a calendar first.

I see the disclaimer from Michelle every day which reads: “I DO NOT CENSOR COMMENTS POSTED TO THIS BLOG: Therefore this blog is not for the faint hearted, thin skinned, easily offended or the appointed people’s moralist. Lately the atmosphere on MM Blog has been like the Old Wild West — everyone shooting it out with everyone else. Fingers pointing, accusations, insults, and personal attacks are what I have been seeing a lot of.

I come here to read other people’s opinions and to write my own when I have something I think people would enjoy reading.

The characters on this blog are real, while keeping their anonymity. If you are new to this blog, it is not necessary to insult the regulars or accuse them of being fictional and not really existing.

  8. Zen Lill Says:

Hmm, I’ll get to 9/11 but first this….

my neutrality was re: whatever Robert’s sexual escapades to get ahead, wasn’t ‘doggng him’ just not judging in the least, thus neutrality…hello…are you ‘blond’?

Here’s Mischa’s sentence, ‘Why shouldn’t a black man use his big dick to get where he wants to go? It certainly is an asset and a talent. And I certainly would rather get fucked by a black man with the way he uses his “talented” dick, than fucked by a white man, with the way he uses his “talents” to fuck up this country. I’m just sorry you got the short end of the stick (no pun intended). I HOPE you have found someone else who reciprocates your love.’ The part where a black man can and could use his dick to get ahead sounds like she’s oK with it (and I’m not judging that either, just observing : )

A bit of a ‘blowhard’ is Robert’s style and frankly, I used his own words when he once cut up SB momentarily or do you all need the archives to remember everything??

So, hello, this blond is standing by what I said…and yep, sometimes I write stream of consciousness but if I switch opinions in one sentence perhaps my sentence is being misconstrued (by you) or written unclearly (by me) and I will reread before posting (point taken).

I do think that there’s a lot behind the 9/11 rememberance and I do feel for the people who lost people…what about all the countries that have a similar 9/11 fatality count pretty much everyday right now though? Pakistan, Sudan…the hidden numbers…everyday…let’s commemorate them, too.

Oh and Patriot, I couldn’t agree more, we should’ve rebuilt there not left a ‘memorial’ hole, when I looked at that one thing came to mind ‘the depths of hell’ I’m not sure why that thought slammed into the forefront of my mind but it did.

Howie, I agree…and not just bc I was listed as a regular who gets the uncivilized end of things regularly and btw, (Natasha, I think), I was not perturbed to be mentioned in the regulars list, why would I be?

Fuck you Anonymous #5. At least I had the elementary sense to use a title so that others can communicate without the hassle your dumb ass has given us.

As for making a mistake about the dates, how does that deter from the facts? Obvious you are a white american.

You assholes are always diverting from your fucked up deeds. Me losing sights of the dates doesn’t change the fact that a sick white racist hick blew up the federal building and killed more than 600 Americans.

But because he was a white son of a bitch the news media didn’t encourage that Americans become suspect of every white hick with a pick up truck or one of those american nazi flags racists apologists like you call the confederate flag.

Whose more full of shit the guy who can not recall the exact date of an attack or the hypocritical bastard that denies the details of the attack?

I’m sick of you and your fucking white angsts, Who gives a fuck that a bunch of you racist bastards bit the dust. My only regret was that it wasn’t more of you fucking bigots.

    David
At least I have a name

  11. Aswad Says:

Those of you that don’t have to be looked at with suspicion have no right to gang up on David.

He was correct about the hypocrisy of most white americans. They see nothing wrong with profiling us American Arabs while allowing their own home grown terrorist actions to go untouched.

I as any other American deplore what happened. But if the truth be told this occasion would serve the country better if it focused more on the inept conduct of those charged with protecting this nation form foreign threats.

But since that would embarrass the bush administration and the republican party it won’t happen.

    Aswad

PS as has ofter been suggested on this blog. It would be at a minimum courteous to provide a name, make up one.

  13. Wayne Says:

Howie, I can appreciate your honest wish for some civility on this day.

But as far as I am concerned this date don’t mean shit. It is just another opportunity for the white imperialists to deny the ramifications for the shit they do around the world.

Fuck them and the horse they rode in on.

    Wayne

  14. Natasha Says:

Zen lill, I am not an American but I can understand why some Americans feel the way they do about white America forcing them to make this a special day.

One of theirs murdered MLK and he couldn’t get a day for a long time. Even today in the architect firm I work for they don’t celebrate it. Actually, most whites I have lunch with on that day make fun of the “nigger.” Or find a way to tell me how much safer or happier they were when their “niggers” knew their place.

Sure you think there is a lot behind the remembrance of 9/11 , but as has been pointed out you and the rest of your race does not have to contend with the racial profiling and the excuse for bigot behavior that occurs every year on this date.

The way I see it is white americans feel so entitled that they have lost the ability to feel compassionate towards any but their own interest.

As for your getting on Robert’s case, it seems to be a case of “thou protest too much.” Could I be detecting a little envy from those white women that did get some of that “sweet black dick?” I confess a little interest bubbling below, myself.

    Natasha

  15. Robert Says:

As for your quote of Saul Bellows that is one of the fallacies of argument, that would be to attempt to give more weight to an argument when it can’t stand alone by attaching it to someone of some social prominence.

The other was to assume that the rest of us give the same weight to an all white Nobel awards committee to decide for us who merits exceptional status in a particular field.

I for one put no special significance on their selections. That would mean that Saul Bellows words would have about as much weight with me as yours does.

If that is too deep for your need for illusion, let me make it perfectly clear. I still think you are a hypocrite and perhaps a coward being that you don’t have the courage to title your trite.

    Robert

Point well made Natasha. Zen Lill’s blowhard tag for Robert may have been a freudian slip.

  17. Charles Says:

Freudian slip or not Zen Lill, you are confusing a blowhard with an astute and honest informer.

Robert’s input is as valuable as Howie’s, Doug’s, Michelle’s, and many others who educate the readers of this blog with their special expertise.

Just because you find disagreement with some of his input or even the manner in which he conveys it to you doesn’t make it rise to the level of boasting in an unpleasant way.

His opinions or the delivery of such may be unpleasant to you, but you can hardly call them boasts.

Natasha, Pavin and CHarles, let me be clear…a bit of a blowhard was Robert’s language and yep, I think he comes on strong…did I say his points were not valid? No. There are people who say I am intense during heated debates, do I take that to mean I come on strong – I do – and I’m glad I do.

And ladies, trust me, I am handled very nicely, no need to yearn for Roberts appendage and do no need any of what Robert has offered others : ) but thanks for thinking about my libido ; ) did you think I wouldn’t take care of such a strong instinct in myself? C’mon now…

And Natasha, I am white so no I’m sorry I do now know – firsthand – about what an OTW handles everyday but I do empathize, which I know is not the same to any of you OTW’s and sorry again, but as far as I know I cannot change races in this lifetime to understand this point better. I can only observe (and judge) my own race for acting idiotic and just be the change I’d like to see in my own life (and vote for people who aren’t racist assholes).

sorry, typo, I do NOT know firsthand…and I should’ve called you women of MM blog, ‘ladies’ is not a way I address any group of females.
