How Many More of these “Unavoidably Unsafe” Drugs Will Become Mandatory?

Good morning!
A follow-up from the other day:
How Many More of these “Unavoidably Unsafe” Drugs Will Become Mandatory?
By Dr. Mercola
For more than a century pharmaceutical companies have created and enjoyed a lucrative monopoly on health care in America.
They’ve done this by forming alliances with doctors and politicians and scientists inside and outside of government.
In this manner, slowly but surely, they’ve managed to steal basic human Constitutional liberties from you, especially your right to choose what is best for yourself and your children when it comes to drugs and vaccines.
Through it all, Barbara Loe Fisher and the National Vaccine Information Center have been fighting to help you keep your rights to make your own health care decisions.
But it’s getting harder: these corporate entities are digging their heels in deeper and deeper, with the goal of taking your health liberties away from you through forced vaccination.
Here, Fisher lays out the harsh facts on this most important issue. Read it and weep. Then take swift action!
By Barbara Loe Fisher
In America today, there is an unprecedented assault on the human right to exercise informed consent to medical risk-taking.
It is being led by one of the most powerful and wealthy corporate empires in the world: the global pharmaceutical industry.
What is at stake for Big Pharma is a one trillion dollar market for prescription drugs and vaccines.1 What is at stake for the American people is our health and our liberty.
Pharma’s Lucrative Monopoly on U.S. Health Care
For more than a century, pharmaceutical corporations have created a lucrative monopoly on health care in America. They have done this by forging an alliance with a select group of medical doctors and scientists inside and outside of government, who develop and promote widespread drug and vaccine use.
Every “Like” Helps Support This Cause
Doctors in private practice, who are encouraged to deliver drugs and vaccines to the people, have become – perhaps without even realizing it – de facto drug company sales reps.2
Americans, who represent about five percent of the world’s population,3 4 are the most highly vaccinated5 6 and drugged population on the planet.7 8 We consume nearly 40 percent of all pharmaceutical products sold.9 In 2009, doctors ordered four billion prescriptions for Americans,10 which is one big reason why annual health care costs are nearly $3 trillion dollars in the U.S.11 Half of all Americans, including 25 percent of our children take one or more prescription drugs.12
Today, our children are being given three times as many vaccinations as they got in the early 1980′s. 13 14 15 Three times as many vaccinations means three times as much profit for drug companies and doctors selling vaccines.
The base cost for a child to get every government recommended vaccine in a private pediatrician’s office has increased from $80 per child in 198616 to a whopping $2200 per child in 2011,17 and that doesn’t include physician office administration fees. The federal government now spends nearly $4 billion dollars per year to purchase vaccines for public health clinics,18 where half of America’s children are vaccinated.
It is no surprise that vaccine development is one of the fastest growing sectors in the pharmaceutical industry.19 By 2013, Pharma will enjoy a $36 billion dollar vaccine market.20
Eight Big Drug Corporations Selling Vaccines Get Total Liability Shield
In 1986, there were three major drug corporations selling vaccines in the U.S. (Merck, Lederle, Connaught) and now there are eight (Merck, Pfizer, Sanofi Pasteur, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Astra Zeneca, CSL Biotherapies, Emergent BioSolutions). That is because, in 1986, Pharma blackmailed Congress into giving them partial liability protection from vaccine injury lawsuits21 by suggesting they would have to abandon the U.S. childhood vaccine market without a liability shield.
In February of this year, drug companies got what they wanted all along: the U.S. Supreme Court gave Pharma total immunity from lawsuits – even if they could have made a vaccine less harmful. 22 23
Vaccines, said the Court, are “unavoidably unsafe.”
So if your child is brain injured by a vaccine that you may not have wanted your child to get in the first place, all you can do is file a claim in the federal vaccine injury compensation program. Even though the program has awarded more than $2 billion dollars to vaccine victims, two out of three plaintiffs are turned away empty handed.24
With no liability or accountability for those making, licensing, selling and giving vaccines in America, there are no checks and balances to ensure that vaccines are safe and effective. Doctors, who have been taught to believe that infectious microorganisms should be eradicated from the earth with the mandatory use of multiple vaccines, are as ripe for exploitation as the people they vaccinate.
Big Pharma Does Not Want You to Have Vaccine Freedom of Choice
The only barrier left to unlimited vaccine profit-making is the freedom for Americans to choose whether or not to use every new vaccine Pharma creates and wants mandated. Freedom of choice is something Big Pharma and the medical lobby does not want you to have.
They know that many educated consumers in America and around the world are dissatisfied with the old pharmaceutical-based health care paradigm.25 26 27 They know that 63 percent of all Americans, including 76 percent of health care workers, are empowering themselves with information and choosing less toxic, less expensive, more naturally effective ways to achieve and maintain health.28
Today, millions of Americans are choosing to buy and eat organic29 30 and avoid genetically modified foods.31 32 We are choosing to buy and drink pure water with no chemicals in it. 33 We are choosing mercury-free dental fillings.34 We are choosing exercise and meditation. We are choosing drug free, hospital free births35 and breastfeeding. We are throwing away the bottles of prescription drugs in our medicine cabinet and choosing to get advice from holistic health professionals offering less toxic alternatives to stay well like acupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy, and naturopathy.36
And we are questioning why we and our children should be required to get a long list of expensive vaccines that carry serious risks37 and sometimes don’t work at all.38
This is a health liberty revolution and Pharma knows it.
So Pharma is funding medical organizations profiting from mass vaccination policies39 to press politicians into quickly passing laws that force Americans to buy and use dozens of doses of vaccines. 40 The goal is to demand that everyone salute smartly and obey doctors’ orders to get vaccinated or be barred from getting an education,41 health insurance,42 medical care43 44 or a job. 45 The goal is to, in effect, brand unvaccinated citizens as enemies of the state,46 47 so they can be fined or imprisoned.
Can this really be happening in America?
Yes, it can.
Doctors Threatening People and Taking Away Vaccine Exemptions
In 2007, we witnessed physician public health officials summon nearly 1,000 parents with their children to a Maryland courthouse policed by armed guards and dogs to show proof the children had gotten chickenpox and hepatitis b shots.48 Parents were threatened with stiff fines and jail time if they did not comply.
Last spring in Washington state, medical organizations joined with Pharma lobbyists to pressure politicians to pass a law that requires parents to get the signature of a medical doctor or designated medical worker for a child to receive a non-medical exemption to vaccination.49 What this means is that some citizens in society, who have M.D. or certain other medical initials written after their names, now have the power in Washington state to pass judgment on the conscientious or spiritually held beliefs of fellow citizens. It gives some citizens, who may be ideologically opposed to the informed consent ethic,50 a green light to threaten and coerce other citizens into violating their conscience and personal beliefs.51
This expanded authority is added to the authority that medical doctors have had for a long time, which includes the power to refuse to grant a child a medical exemption to vaccination52 53 54 55 – even when the child has suffered a sudden and serious decline in health following previous vaccinations and could be more seriously harmed if additional vaccines are given.56
Colorado and California Citizens Losing Vaccine Choices
Right now, drug company- and medical lobbyists are trying to put further legal restrictions on vaccine exemptions in Colorado 57 and other states.58 In cash-strapped California, the Pharma-Med lobby has succuessfully pushed for a law to be passed that will allow doctors to give minor children expensive new vaccines for sexually transmitted diseases – like Gardasil – without the informed consent of parents.59
Nobody is Held Accountable for Vaccine Injuries and Deaths
But what happens if a vaccine given to a child without the parent’s consent ends up injuring or killing a child? Is anyone accountable?
No. Nobody is liable in a court of law to be tried before a jury of our peers when our children and grandchildren are injured or die after getting vaccinated – not the drug companies that made the vaccines; not the federal health officials, who licensed and recommend the vaccines; not the doctor or medical worker, who gave the vaccines; and not the state politician, who voted for vaccine mandates or looked the other way while state health officials added another new vaccine to the required list.
Nobody is held accountable or liable when a child is injured or killed by vaccines in America except the parent of that child, whose informed consent rights may have been violated by fellow citizens wielding power they should never have been given.
This is a Health Liberty Revolution
After 50 years of heavy prescription drug and vaccine use, Americans are waking up to the fact that they are not healthier, but are sicker than ever before. And they are asking a lot of questions.
More of us are wondering why doctors inside and outside of government are insisting that every child get 70 doses of 16 vaccines starting on the first day of life 60 and why that list includes expensive new vaccines for mild diseases, like chickenpox, and for diseases you can’t catch in a classroom, like hepatitis B.
More of us are asking why we have to get a flu shot every year 61 and why health care workers are losing their jobs if they don’t.62
More of us are looking at vaccine studies published in the medical literature, many of which are paid for by drug companies 63 or public health agencies promoting one-size-fits-all vaccine policies, only to discover that a lot of those studies are the best junk science that money can buy. More of us are watching doctors paid by Pharma64 65 persuade journalists to demonize anyone asking questions about vaccination 66 so other people are afraid to speak up because they know they will be targeted for humiliation and persecution.
Why are so Many of Highly Vaccinated Children so Sick?
But, mostly, we are asking why so many of our highly vaccinated children are so sick with no good explanation coming from the public health officials and doctors we have trusted with their health.
Today, 1 child in 6 in America is learning disabled;67 1 in 9 has asthma;68 1 in 10 is diagnosed with ADHD;69 1 in 110 develops autism;70 71 1 in 450 becomes diabetic,72 and millions more are suffering with severe allergies,73 inflammatory bowel disorders,74 crippling depression75 and other kinds of brain and immune system dysfunction, while America’s infant mortality rate ranks among the worst of all developed nations: 6 out of 1,000 babies born live in America die before their first birthday.76 77
New Vaccines Coming to Change Your DNA
Despite the reality that more vaccination does not equal better individual and public health, there are over 3,000 new vaccine clinical trials underway.78 Pharma is creating genetically engineered vaccines, which will ramp up the manipulation of our immune systems79 and even change our DNA,80 81 to prevent everything from tooth decay, 82 acne 83 and smoking84 to high blood pressure,85 herpes,86 gonorrhea87 and HIV/AIDS.88
It is time for all of us to stand up and end our participation in the failed Pharma-based health care paradigm so we can take back our health and our liberty.
If vaccines are safe and effective for everyone, then those who choose to get vaccinated should have nothing to fear from those who choose not to get vaccinated.
If vaccines are not safe and effective for everyone, then it is unethical to require anyone to get vaccinated without their voluntary, informed consent.
The human right to protect bodily integrity trumps any authority the state gives to some citizens to coerce other citizens into taking medical risks against their will. Because if the state can tag, track down and force individuals to be injected with biologicals of known and unknown toxicity today, then there will be no limit on which individual freedoms the state can take away in the name of the greater good tomorrow.
Please go to www.NVIC.org and volunteer to work in your state to defend vaccine exemptions. Empower yourself and stand up for liberty today.
It’s your health. Your family. Your choice.
What You Can Do to Make a Difference
While it seems “old-fashioned,” the only truly effective actions you can take to protect the right to informed consent to vaccination and expand vaccine exemptions, is to get personally involved with your state legislators and the leaders in your community.
THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY.
Mass vaccination policies are made at the federal level but vaccine laws are made at the state level, and it is at the state level where your action to protect your vaccine choice rights can have the greatest impact.
Signing up for NVIC’s free Advocacy Portal at www.NVICAdvocacy.org not only gives you access to practical, useful information to help you become an effective vaccine choice advocate in your own community, but when national vaccine issues come up, you will have the up-to-date information and call to action items you need at your fingertips to make sure your voice is heard.
So please, as your first step, sign up for the NVIC Advocacy Portal.
Contact Your Elected Officials
Write or email your elected state representatives and share your concerns. Call them, or better yet, make an appointment to visit them in person in their office. Don’t let them forget you!
It is so important for you to reach out and make sure your concerns get on the radar screen of the leaders and opinion makers in your community, especially the politicians you elect and are directly involved in making vaccine laws in your state. These are your elected representatives, so you have a right and a responsibility to let them know what’s really happening in your life and the lives of people you know when it comes to vaccine mandates. Be sure to share the “real life” experiences that you or people you know have had with vaccination.
Share Your Story with the Media and People You Know
If you or a family member has suffered a serious vaccine reaction, injury or death, please talk about it. If we don’t share information and experiences with each other, everybody feels alone and afraid to speak up. Write a letter to the editor if you have a different perspective on a vaccine story that appears in your local newspaper. Make a call in to a radio talk show that is only presenting one side of the vaccine story.
I must be frank with you; you have to be brave because you might be strongly criticized for daring to talk about the “other side” of the vaccine story. Be prepared for it and have the courage to not back down. Only by sharing our perspective and what we know to be true about vaccination will the public conversation about vaccination open up so people are not afraid to talk about it.
We cannot allow the drug companies and medical trade associations funded by drug companies to dominate the conversation about vaccination. The vaccine injured cannot be swept under the carpet and treated like nothing more than “statistically acceptable collateral damage” of national one-size-fits-all mass vaccination policies that put way too many people at risk for injury and death. We shouldn’t be treating people like guinea pigs instead of human beings.
Internet Resources Where You Can Learn More
I encourage you to visit the following web pages on the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) website at www.NVIC.org:
- NVIC Memorial for Vaccine Victims: View descriptions and photos of children and adults, who have suffered vaccine reactions, injuries and deaths. If you or your child experiences an adverse vaccine event, please consider posting and sharing your story here.
- If You Vaccinate, Ask 8 Questions: Learn how to recognize vaccine reaction symptoms and prevent vaccine injuries.
- Vaccine Freedom Wall: View or post descriptions of harassment by doctors or government officials for making independent vaccine choices.
Connect with Your Doctor or Find a New One that Will Listen and Care
If your pediatrician or doctor refuses to provide medical care to you or your child unless you agree to get vaccines you don’t want, I strongly encourage you to have the courage to find another doctor. Harassment, intimidation, and refusal of medical care is becoming the modus operandi of the medical establishment in an effort to stop the change in attitude of many parents about vaccinations after they become truly educated about health and vaccination.
However, there is hope.
At least 15 percent of young doctors recently polled admit that they’re starting to adopt a more individualized approach to vaccinations in direct response to the vaccine safety concerns of parents. It is good news that there is a growing number of smart young doctors, who prefer to work as partners with parents in making personalized vaccine decisions for children, including delaying vaccinations or giving children fewer vaccines on the same day or continuing to provide medical care for those families, who decline use of one or more vaccines.
So take the time to locate a doctor, who treats you with compassion and respect and is willing to work with you to do what is right for your child.
See new “The Greater Good” Documentary for Free This Week
“The Greater Good” movie is a groundbreaking documentary about the vaccine safety and informed consent debate that is a “must see” for everyone who wants to learn more about the different scientific, health policy, economic, legal, ethical and political issues involved in the vaccination controversy. This film will help you educate others about how important it is to do your own research and learn more before you make a vaccination decision for yourself or your child. ANYONE CAN ACCOMPLISH EXTREME GOALS
Have you ever dreamed about doing something really amazing in your life, like sailing a boat across the Atlantic, starting a business or going to graduate school and switching careers?
What is it that drives some people to forge ahead and do something that, to most others, seems nearly impossible?
I found myself thinking about this because I just finished reading a book, You Are An Ironman, about six men and women of a variety of ages and physical conditions who set out to accomplish the almost unthinkably difficult physical and mental challenge of the Ironman triathlon.
For those who aren’t familiar with it, the Ironman is an endurance race that participants are supposed to finish within 17 hours, beginning with a 2.4-mile swim in open water (the equivalent of more than 77 lengths of an Olympic-sized swimming pool)… followed by a 112-mile bike race (equal to riding from New York City past Philadelphia)… and culminating with a full marathon run, which is, yes, a grueling 26.2 miles.
If you’re thinking that these must be people who are already amazing athletes and are probably in their primes — you’re wrong.
For example, one of the participants profiled in the book had cystic fibrosis before receiving a double lung transplant. Another is a formerly overweight mother of five children.
Though I am not interested in taking on such a challenge myself, I am fascinated about what drives others to do such things, because there are lessons that we can all learn from them.
So I called Jacques Steinberg, a New York Times writer and the author of the book, to ask him some questions…
Daily Health News: Why did you write this book?
Jacques Steinberg: I wanted to tell a story for people who may not necessarily have the desire to do an Ironman but are just curious about the bounds to which we can push ourselves as human beings.
Whether we’re challenging our bodies or our minds, we tend to be our own worst enemies. I would argue that we can all push ourselves well past what we think we’re capable of accomplishing.
DHN: How do Ironman triathletes accomplish such an enormous goal?
JS: The trick is that they tend to focus on the positives — what they can do, as opposed to what they can’t do.
They think about training one day at a time — so the task doesn’t seem too massive or insurmountable — and slowly build the intensity and length of their workouts.
That simple strategy works. More than 90% of the people who set out to do a race like the Ironman complete it.
Building enough physical strength and endurance is part of the challenge, obviously, but at a certain point everyone will tell you that the mental challenge is what takes over.
The bottom line: These triathletes believed in themselves and were psychologically determined to see themselves through to the finish line.
DHN: What do they get out of it?
JS: It’s true that at some point during their training, the majority of Ironman participants suffer injuries of various degrees — after all, completing an Ironman requires a lot of wear-and-tear on your body.
But you hear competitors say that the sense of accomplishment that they feel afterward is so powerful that it makes the whole journey worthwhile. And certain participants have noticed health benefits from competing.
For example, some say that their depression was cured by their Ironman training or that it made their back trouble become a thing of the past.
DHN: Was there a common thread among the triathletes you followed, in terms of what they were trying to accomplish in their lives?
JS: It’s interesting to me how many Ironman triathletes didn’t consider themselves athletic when they were kids, but in middle age they chose to carve out new identities.
For instance, the woman with five children told me that she wanted to be known as something other than just “Mom.”
She said that completing a triathlon made her feel more fulfilled and that she was a better wife and mother for having taken it on.
Another participant wanted to celebrate the fact that his cancer was in remission — he didn’t want to think of himself as a “patient” any longer. These are people who wanted to rewrite or augment their life stories — and they did just that.
DHN: We live in a time-pressured world. Why do you think people choose to participate in an event where the training — and the race itself — is so time-consuming?
JS: Day-to-day moments in life today can seem so fleeting — text messages, tweets and Facebook postings are taken in and quickly left behind.
Experiences pass by us so fast that it’s sometimes hard to appreciate them. Taking on a challenge that requires endurance, like a triathlon, serves as an antidote.
If someone can spend eight or 10 hours on a bike on a Sunday preparing for a race, it becomes a way to slow life down, to focus and to savor your time.

I am not for Cain but this I believe that Sharon Bialek is a lying opportunist. She knows that the white media will eat up a white women claiming that a black man sexually harassed her.

Courtesy of a hot microphone, journalists attending the G-20 last week heard President Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy complaining about Israeli Prime Minister Banjamin Netanyahu.
The French media watch website “Arret sur Images” was first to report the conversation.
“Obama began by reproaching Sarkozy for not warning him in advance that France would vote in favour of Palestinian membership of UNESCO,” the website reported. “The conversation turned to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, with Sarkozy saying ,’I don’t want to see him anymore, he’s a liar.’
“To which President Obama replied: ‘You’ve had enough of him, but I have to deal with him every day!’ Obama then asked Sarkozy to try to convince the Palestinians to slow down with their UN membership drive.”
The journalists who overheard the remarks did not initially report them, but since then other European media outlets have started to do so, including the BBC.
Reuters is reporting the comments, having confirmed them with one of its reporters who overheard them.
ABC News’ Alexander Marquardt reports that Israeli media outlets are covering the comments, with the Jerusalem Post writing that one of Netanyahu’s rival political parties, “Kadima, whose last Knesset campaign slogan was ‘Bibi, I don’t believe him,’ chose not to comment on the matter. ‘What Sarkozy said is more than enough,’ a party spokesman quipped.”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Like they didn’t know they were miked. Good way to get a slam in “unintentionally” I’m thinking. Even N’s own countrymen know he’s two-faced.

Michelle you aren’t the only one being pursued non stop by those who want to shut you down or at least slow you growth.
Apple is about to taste the full weight of governments, like China, Korea, Japan and Finland to name a few. These countries are teaming up with their corporations who are the chief competitors to Apple and hiring people to work 24/7 on ways to damage the Apple brand.
The idea is if people stop buying Apple there will be more market share for that country’s corporation to move into.
Also Michelle, you should know that the CIA and other government agencies both from this country and others are targeting your blog.
They have people who track the information presented here to help make many decisions, such as: feeling the pulse of foreigners as to how they might act given a particular contrived social situation.
Under their employ are experts in the library science, internet specialists, natural language speaking people, and those with the ability to track an idea across the net from country to country.
Not many blogs have the reach across the globe yours does. That makes any topic that you get to take root become the occupation of that country by its citizens.
No one wants an “Occupy Wall Street” type movement, or an outright move to overthrow the present regime.
Hence, the collective mantra of world governments towards your blog is “Shut Her Down!”
They are attempting to accomplish this by randomly blocking access to your blog. This prevents you from establishing that there is a concentrated attempt to hack into your life.
Be as secure as you can and continue to call and report blockages to you server. A pattern will develop if they don’t slow down and some of the dogs will be outed.
Sometimes the price of success involves enduring the evil of others.
Good luck

A gaffe is what happens when you say what you really mean but didn’t intend to say.
Sarkozy is right. Israel treats the U.S. like the big brother it really doesn’t like. Without us, it wouldn’t exist, yet Netanyaho constantly complaints and does whatever he can to make life harder for us in the Middle East.

Bialek said she encountered Cain at a tea party event earlier this year. “I shook his hand, and he remembered me,” she said. “He looked a little uncomfortable.”"
You shook the hand of the guy that supposedly assaulted you? Weird.
“She said she waited so long to come forward because “I was embarrassed … and I just kind of wanted it to go away.”"
So you were so embarrassed that you didn’t make a peep, but now, instead of wanting it to go away, you’re appearing on the national talk show circuit — with Gloria Allred, of all people. Sure.

It seems that white women in America get a pass to accuse OTWs with anything.
The media was all over the motives of the OTW that accused the frenchman in his hotel room and she didn’t wait 15 years.
This woman claims to have waited to talk it over with her 13 year old son. Ludicrous on its face. Only white americans would even consider such a blatant lie.
Cain may be guilty of harassing other women, but certainly didn’t harass this one.

That is the kind of lie white women used to tell down South that got many black boys and young black men hanged. I see it still works.
So you can be sure that the white media will play this story non stop for the next 2 to 3 weeks.
She and that ambulance chaser she has for a lawyer will make another killing and then Ms. Bailek will be forgotten.

Netanyahu and his ilk will destroy Israel if they don’t destroy the US first. Right now a congressional subcommittee is contemplating an AIPAC bill for the US to attack Iran.
November 8th, 2011 at 8:37 am
I can’t see Obama or Sarkozy having any serious problems for expressing their feelings about Netanyahu’s tendencies to lie to gain advantage and to force the US to support his not well thought out moves.
I do believe that the media should not have reported what was overheard when two world leaders thought they were speaking in confidence.
One would think that the media would respect the right of Presidents to have an off the record honest conversation.
Evidently not.

The world leaders are such a joke. They’re going to get us into WWIII with Iran because of a terrorist democracy called Israel who will stop at nothing until all Palestinians are dead or “relocated” while at the same time the same leaders privately despise the Israeli president and his policies?
“settlements are not the cause of the problems with Palestinians, they are a symptom” -Bibi to the UN
“taking indian land is not the cause of the conflict with the natives, they are barbaric heathens and lack souls” -any us president in the 17th century
What a total joke!

Patiently explain to a liberal why their hero Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story depends on an entirely false premise—that capitalism is the same as corporatism.
Most of Moore’s targets in the movie are the unwieldy, corrupt corporations that his hero Obama has spent so much taxpayer money bribing and bailing out.
They’ve got about as much to do with the free markets that conservatives favor as Michael Moore has with charm, wit, or healthy salads.
And if he really has such a problem with capitalism, what was he doing allowing movie theaters to charge audiences eight bucks a ticket?
Shouldn’t he have used some of the vast fortune he has earned from books and movies railing against capitalism so that his vital public service announcement could be put out for free?

DEEPER SLEEP = LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE
Do you ever feel extra groggy when you wake up? It’s probably because you were awakened during what’s called slow-wave sleep (SWS) — the phase of sleep that’s deep, restful and restorative.
The trouble is: If you frequently miss out on SWS, besides being tired, you could also be at greater risk for high blood pressure — and that’s very bad.
Researchers from various universities (including Harvard Medical School in Boston) recently found the association in their study, which was published in the August 30, 2011 issue of Hypertension.
Since I sometimes have trouble getting a full night’s sleep, this news worried me.
I placed a call to Susan Redline, MD, MPH, the Peter C. Farrell Professor of sleep medicine at Harvard Medical School and one of the authors of the study.
THE QUALITY OF YOUR SLEEP MATTERS
In the study, researchers recorded the sleep patterns of 784 older men (with an average age of 75) by using a polysomnogram that analyzed their brain waves for one night at home.
The majority of these men were considered prehypertensive, meaning that their blood pressure was in the highest range of what’s considered normal.
After approximately three years, the researchers checked both the blood pressure and the sleep patterns of the men again.
The researchers found that 41% of the study participants who spent less than 4% of their sleep time in SWS during the second reading developed high blood pressure –
while only 26% of those who spent approximately 17% or more time in SWS developed high blood pressure. In other words, the guys who got more deep sleep appeared to be more protected from developing high blood pressure.
While this study involved older men, Dr. Redline said that these findings are likely relevant to everyone. In fact, similar studies have linked poor sleep to higher blood pressure even in children.
Dr. Redline’s study is just one more example of how the body needs sleep — and good sleep, she told me.
She explained that SWS is particularly important in the restorative process because this is the period when both blood pressure and heart rate naturally go down to their lowest levels.
So when people don’t get enough SWS, their blood pressure may not dip as much as it should during the night, which can lead to higher levels throughout the day.
TO GET A MORE RESTFUL SLEEP
So how can you spend more time in SWS? Researchers aren’t sure exactly how to elicit more of it, said Dr. Redline, though she hopes that future studies will answer that question.
In the meantime, if you’d like more information on how to get a good night’s sleep, check out the February 1, 2011 issue of Bottom Line/Health.
Will getting deeper sleep help treat high blood pressure someday? “Maybe,” said Dr. Redline. “But right now there is no data to support that.”
In the meantime, don’t take this snooze news for granted. Getting seven to eight hours of sleep a night is sure to do your body good!

Mischa, hi, good subject, and I’m annoyed still that I had to get my girl a whooping cough vaccine otherwise she couldn’t go to school, public school in LA county also, piss me off, you have no say though you can register a complaint (which goes into a giant round file).
Mark, you’re too funny…not sure if you’re screwing with me or what, and Eric, I’d love to answer that but I cannot fully, something sort of similar was found in a template in my site, how it got there I cannot say…probably not the government but I’ve had my share of hacking stalkers in the past year so they’re highly suspect, if it’s that easy to hack my phone/email surely it is easy to embed code that has no message decipherable by me, mostly bc I rarely scan the template content on html mode. ERic, I’m not sure how or why I get in everyday, I’d answer that part if I could, maybe the govt has deemed me ‘harmless’ to their mission : D
Anonz, glad you’re alive and reporting in for duty ; )
I saw the woman who came forward after 15 years on TV last night, you could $ee the $ $igns $wimming in her eye$…a pathetic media blitz ala Weiner, so scandalous you have to resign/give up campaign/go away…

Mika Brzezinski said this about Bailek.
She continued, “Clearly this woman and Gloria Allred are very interested in the limelight right now and taking this on and I wonder what their reasons are. Now I’m sure I’ll get killed online for saying that.”
“The whole thing is a pathetic side-show,” she concluded.

Dear Loyal Conservative,
The next 52 weeks will determine what kind of country we and our kids and grandkids live in.
I know where I stand. That’s why I wholeheartedly support Click to Victory 2012 and its urgent work to create a dominant new conservative messaging machine targeting voters 18-34.
Not having that capability cost us the 2008 election. Obama connected with young voters using email and cell phone messages, videos and social media like Facebook. He brainwashed them with liberal lies — and blew us out of the water.
If we don’t act now, we’ll see this catastrophic headline 52 weeks from now:
Click to Victory 2012 is our conservative counter-attack. Work is underway — but there’s a huge amount yet to be done. Especially when we see numbers like this: 992,286.
That’s how many grassroots donors the Obama campaign pulled in nine months. It took the 2008 campaign more than a year to reach that number. So never mind the approval polls — Obama’s getting more new supporters, new donors, and new money, faster than in 2008!
That’s why we’re seeing REAL headlines like this one — today.
OBAMA WINS
PRESIDENT’S SOCIAL MEDIA DOMINANCE PROPELS RE-ELECTION VICTORY
This fb&Business cover story (October 2011) opens with “Hey, folks, it’s already over! Barack Obama has already won the election of 2012…”
That terrifying thought is why Click to Victory 2012 is urgently working to ensure that every young voter hears our conservative solutions — and knocks King Barack off his throne a year from now.
The Click to Victory 2012 team knows how to influence 18–34 voters — because many of us are 18–34. We all believe we can win back millions of them — but only with your help.
This is costly work that requires the support of every freedom-loving conservative. We need donations — a lot of them. We need bloggers to spread the word.
For a donation of $40 or more, you’ll receive a special free gift — Ann Coulter’s new blockbuster, Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America (a $28.99 value) — where she proves that everything liberals do has all the characteristics of mob behavior.
If our worst fears come true — Obama Re-Elected — I, for one, would not be able to sleep at night if I weren’t supporting this effort. But we must get our conservative messages out to young voters, who are bearing the brunt of Obamacrat failures, so they’ll know our solutions will help them vote their way to a better future.
Please give us a YES — and help us convince young voters to say NO! to Barack Obama in 2012. Click here to see our Click to Victory 2012 Five-Point Plan — and to donate.
With all my appreciation,
Jason Mattera

Anonz, your words herein are appreciated regarding the global attempts to quell Michelle. The fight against those who do not wish for truth to be out is, and has been ON! It’s about time the global populace woke to the fraud, manipulations, corruption, mass murders, inequalities, and on and on and on. It is interesting how so many people will say they don’t believe in conspiracies of a global corruption of the .01%, etc., yet we see a global massive outpouring of frustration against “the system”. We all know the system is broken, and most refuse to come to terms with what it might take to fix it. Change is not really an option, but replacement is more akin to the necessary results. It is a matter of the people waking up out of their complacent slumber to the realities of their lives. There seems to be movement in that regard in many countries on a massive scale, as we have seen in Syria and Egypt, and now with the representations of OWS in other countries. The United States is growing with people getting off of the couch and realizing that they have been fucked for some time. Perhaps being unemployed or underemployed has finally pissed enough people off to realize how screwed things have become. Perhaps the realization of the becoming part of the escalating poverty rates or the people losing their homes through fraud by the banks is beginning to piss people off. Whatever it is, it seems to be getting some momentum, and the shutdown of Michelle’s blog certainly is testimony as to the fear that corporations and governments are having to come to terms with as to the global awareness that is growing. It ain’t stopping on this end…

Doug:
Nicely said. Talk about conspiracies how about the one by the republicans and industry to do away with the EPA. I have my theory why the republicans feel they can do anything to the people and remain in office.
But here is a republican candidate for the Presidency advocating getting rid of the EPA. How safe must he feel if he can tell the people that he wants to get rid of the agency that protects their environment?
Are people so dumb that they can’t make the connect between protection of their environment and their own biological health?
Or is it that race is so important to them that they don’t care what the candidate espouses as long as he is white?
When I read this article, “Dust in the Wind: Time for the EPA to go,”by Newt Gingrich, my mouth dropped.
In a time when people all over the globe are being poisoned by arrogant, law protected polluting industries, this candidate for the Presidency advocates not only more deregulation but the out right abolition of our environment’s protection agency.

Dust in the Wind: Time for the EPA to Go!
by Newt Gingrich
The key to eliminating our oppressive regulatory regime is simply to replace the existing bureaucracy rather than try to reform it. The current systems are so entrenched that we need to start over with new organizations and new people.
Overbearing bureaucrats are especially prominent at the Environmental Protection Agency. The arrogance, economic ignorance, and dictatorial attitude of the current organization are well known throughout much of America.
The EPA bullies and dictates to businesses, small towns, and states. It routinely tells states what they have to do and then claims not to be at fault when the states tell local communities and businesses they must comply.
The EPA has become a clear example of “bureaucratic socialism”—an ingenious adaptation of European socialism.
Under “bureaucratic socialism,” you get to own your company, but federal bureaucrats tell you how to run it.
Two recent events surrounding the rumors of stiffening “dust regulation,” which led to a new height of anger against the bureaucrats, highlight the need to replace the EPA with a brand new Environmental Solutions Agency.
In a speech last week, EPA Administrator Linda Jackson acknowledged the anger when she said people referred to her officials as “jack-booted thugs.”
What was amazing about her comments was her complete inability to ask why people would use terms like “jack-booted thugs” to describe the agency’s behavior. She exhibited a total unwillingness to listen to her critics or try to understand their frustration.
Thanks, Ronald Reagan!
Today’s Washington might be out to ruin your retirement.
But lucky for us, Reagan’s White House might have just saved you.
How? With a little-known “loophole” Ronnie signed into law nearly 25 years ago.
Similarly, a Washington Post report on the dust rules was so infuriatingly one-sided and dishonest that it was easy to see why many Americans feel their concerns are trampled by an evasive bureaucracy.
On November 3 the Washington Post ran a story that claimed members of Congress were working to “ban [a] phantom EPA dust rule.”
With great glee, the Post writers reported:
“Earlier this year, Republicans found what they saw as an ideal talking point to illustrate a federal bureaucracy gone batty.
“The Environmental Protection Agency, they warned, was trying to regulate something only God could control: the dust in the wind.
“‘Now, here comes my favorite of the crazy regulatory acts. The EPA is now proposing rules to regulate dust,’ Rep. John Carter (R.-Texas) said on the House floor. He said Texas is full of dusty roads: ‘The EPA is now saying you can be fined for driving home every night on your gravel road.’
“There was just one flaw in this argument: It was not true.
“The EPA’s new dust rule did not exist. It never did.”
I was stunned by this assertion.
Everywhere I had gone in Iowa, people had been complaining about the proposed dust rule. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R.-Iowa), a senior and informed leader in the Senate, had been speaking out against the rule aggressively. In fact, he assigned a staff person to fight the EPA over the proposed rule.
The assertion that it was never considered was plainly dishonest.
Although there was never a formal proposal to create the rule, the prospect of stricter dust regulations had been on the table for months after EPA panels gave conflicting recommendations. Since the EPA makes no distinctions between urban, industrial dust and dust from agriculture or rural roads, many rural Americans were justifiably terrified that the agency was dragging its feet. It was not until mid-October that the EPA finally said it wouldn’t tighten the rules, as its panel had recommended.
The Post’s characterization of the issue as “hubbub over this phantom rule — surely one of the most controversial regulations that never was” was both false and insulting to the 112 House members and 26 Senators who had cosponsored legislation to prevent the agency from regulating farm dust.
The article, obviously based on one-sided, dishonest EPA description of the fight, suggested all of these elected representatives and their staffs were ignorant and cynical, instead of acknowledging their legitimate concerns on behalf of rural Americans. It was the Washington elite at its most infuriating.
Rep. Kristi Noem, a freshman Republican from South Dakota, the author of the bill on farm dust regulation, issued a powerful statement of myths and facts demolishing the EPA argument.
Between an administrator, who jokes that Americans perceive her officials as “jack-booted thugs,” and widespread dishonesty and evasion about proposed dust regulations, it is clear the EPA must be replaced, not reformed.
We need a true Environmental Solutions Agency to replace the EPA—an agency that will emphasize innovation, collaboration, common sense and economic rationality. It can’t be done with the same old bureaucrats. It will require new people in a new institution.
Your Friend,
Newt
P.S. My new novel with Bill Forstchen, Battle of the Crater, about one of the most daring and catastrophic combat operations of the Civil War, is out this week. Last night I was on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight to discuss it! Watch here.

We he says it will require new people who have “economic rationality,” he means if they are paying me, then they can pollute.

Guam – Born and raised on Guam, Guam native Derrick Brodus made his college football debut for the University of Tennessee as the kicker. Brodus is a standout soccer player who turned down several scholarships to play soccer to pursue his football career at Tennessee.
Derrick kicked a field goal and 3 extra points in his team’s shut out win over Middle Tennessee State University. He was rushed to the football game by police escort 50 minutes before the game after the backup kicker injured himself during warm ups.
He was given the game ball after the win by Head Coach Derek Dooley.

Robert, I saw an interview with Newt on Piers Morgan last night. I heard him state that about the EPA. It made me laugh outloud …alone…I can only take so much of P Morgan, because when he goes to political shows or discussion he and I do not see eye to eye whatsoever. But, the Newtster caught me for a couple of minutes. What an asshole. And Piers just nods and agrees so sappily that he is clearly kissing some ass…
