‘Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger

Good morning!

“Just noticing…”

…It has already been a year since the tsunami hit Japan.

I haven’t been keeping up on the happenings but I found this interesting article that maps the tsunami in a series of  Telegraph videos.

Japan earthquake and tsunami anniversary: How the disaster unfolded in video

March 11 2012 marks one year since the earthquake and tsunami in japan devastated the country.

*******

Jena: Obama was destined to be where he is. Thanks for sharing.

Social Butterfly:  Haha! Love it.

Heidi: Love your enthusiasm and urgency. I’m with you.

Al: I was curious over your comment: “So besides being a women’s blog, (which is cool by my me) it also promotes (sic) racsism.” Not sure why you think my blog “promotes” racism. I don’t “promote” it (in face quite the opposite), but it is prevalent, so I certainly “point it out” over and over again, in HOPES that enough will see the insanity of hating someone because of the color of one’s skin…in HOPES that people will step into the shoes of those (OTWs) that live with racism as a daily part of their lives, and have some compassion to change, to do something...and lastly in HOPES that racism will die; cease to exist. It’s a big HOPE, but being sensitive to those that have to endure this sick behavior, I find it worth the time and energy.

10:42 AM: By the way Al, I have to add, with respect to your comment about Robert, RT and George WN being racist, I have to share my two. This is where you and I differ – There is not one ounce of me that thinks Robert is a racist, and every part of my being knows that George is.

Lewis: How sad this is. No doubt you’ll probably be correct.

Happy Sunday everyone. Peace & Love…

  1. Al Says:

Michelle: You are 100% correct, and white boy would not normally bother me. It is my preception that when Robert RT says white boy it seems to bother me because he strikes me as some who does not know that the same white boys that have fucked up life for his people, have fucked up life for me (a white boy from Detroit) as well.

I have nothing against Robert personally. But being white has not a thing to do with power corrupting, and absolute power corrupting absolutely.

I live in Miami, one of the most currupt cities in the country. It’s goverment is nearly 100% Latino. Latinos are not corrupt, those with power become bad leaders once greed gets it’s ugly hands on good people.

I have seen Black, White, and Latino’s all act the same here once in public office. Greed has no preference for color, race. It all depends on who would like to abuse their power, no one is immune.

    Al

    Bye for now,
    Al

Anyway, I should probably tell Robert I am sorry. But I doubt I will. If he is going to talk rasist, blame everthing on the white man bullshit, I will call him on it.

Sorry Rob, but that’s the way it is. Michelle, I am sorry for making or being involved in trouble on your blog

  2. Zen Lill Says:

Al, you don’t need to apologize for causing trouble. You and RobertRt are grown men and you can get along or provoke each other as you wish.

I think you and RobertRt both make and have valid points, I don’t think RobertRt is a racist or bigot but he’s got a serious angry chip and rightly so, you and I actually do not have to deal with half the BS an OTW does, ever.

…though I think I get your flip side complaint, the over usage of ‘white boy’ in all of RobertRt’s rants doesn’t actually elevate the argument intellectually due to the undertone of mega-angst against all whites, (percentage factors aside) it sounds intellectual in statement of case argument (I believe he’s a well trained atty) and then from a feeling place, energetically/psychically speaking, it sounds like a righteous anger rant with a large dose of white categorizing thrown in. It’s just how it sounds/feels, not a judgement against RobertRt. It is his anger to handle.

It would seem intellectually uplifting to want to get to the core of the mega-anger, anger in and of itself won’t improve anything or change laws either, though I do understand that some consider it the impetus that makes changes occur. To me, this manner of battle is over done and yielding little results…and the definition of insanity is doing/behaving/speaking the same way and expecting a different result.

If Ghandi can come up with a new approach maybe we can, too, and we could still get the job of changing laws against women/OTW’s done, while also making valid points to ‘white men’ without blowing their hair back every single time. I only know this: there’s an effective way to approach others/(or me) and there’s a valid/angry – yet – not-so-effective way to approach others/(and me) – (and it only really matters if you are trying to get me to: act on your behalf, do something for you, etc…), just food for thought…

Like i said, I think you both make valid points…

    Luv, Zen Lill

  3. Al Says:

ZL: There is another factor at play here, one that I should have known would change my attitude and is making me a bear, even Howie is ready to throw me out.

Last Tues. evening just after dark I was hit by a car, hit & run. Friday I was sent home from OrthoICU. I have a broken pelvis & clavical, both on the left side.

This has made me unqualified to speak with anyone, and I should have known Better than to touch this keyboard and to communicate with anybody.

Being struck by an auto, my insurance backing out of all I was promised, constant pain (I was given a prescription for a powerful pain killer that was written wrong and is unfillable). I am immobile and must depend on another for a glass of water.

This person is getting weary of me. As am I not expressing myself without

    Al

  4. Cynthia Says:

Zen Lill, I am a white woman who has been married to a Japanese man for 31 years. We married secretly, because we were not allowed to marry in the state we lived in.

We have 4 beautiful children. The three that can pass for white have no problem but the one who is obviously not white catches hell.

If you were not white, I wonder how sympathetic to Al’s comments you would be? Daily suffering from the abuse and disrespect a non white has to put up with from us can be unbearable.

I sometimes wonder how they do it. But unlike you I never think it is a “chip” they carry on their shoulder. Perhaps you could use a little of that brown polish on your body so that you could discover that “chip” you want to place on Robert’s shoulder.

Al is just being a pretentious ass. He wouldn’t last two minutes in Robert’s or my husband’s shoes. White men whine when they get deprived of a job opportunity and scream “reverse” racism.

It makes the news 24/7 while non whites suffer job discrimination, as a matter of course, daily. Al is just one of those bull shit artists who know they benefit from being white but pretend that their situations are from merit alone.

Women like you are like the men who don’t object to wife beaters. By condoning Al’s hypocrisy you encourage his asinine behavior.

But what would any woman on this blog expect from a male apologist like you.

I understand why Robert would prefer a thinking woman like Michelle than a male kiss ass like you. The fact that he would make known on a blog, as big as this one, that he has romantic interest in a white woman says he is not a bigot.

But that would be lost on you. Half the bullshit you say? Walk in my shoes lady. I have watched my man be humiliated by white, yes Al, “boys” with badges from one end of his and our country to the other for better than 30 years.

So don’t tell me about chips on a shoulder. I wouldn’t blame my husband if he got one of those automatic guns the white “boy” needs to enlarge his penis image and shot as many as he could.

But he is a gentle man. So, he sucks it up for us and makes the Als of the world feel like the world is okay. If you were to complain about the behavior of men to women to the likes of an Al he would tolerate it for a while and then he would lose patience and begin calling you the same things he is calling Robert.

Most of us don’t want to hear about the sufferings of non whites that we cause. If you doubt that, consider what is said on this blog by the Native American.

We murdered 12,000,000 of them and forced the rest into concentration camps that the rest of us to this day could care less about because the white “boy” calls them “Reservations.”

By-the-way if you bothered to read Robert’s rants you would understand who the white “boy” is. Not one who is not one would think for one minute that Robert is referring to him.

That is a silly notion that only a republican would spout against the likes of a Rev Wright, or any number of black men who called for resistance against the white “boy’s” institutionalized attempts of preventing non whites an equal opportunity in this country.

The only people who are stupid enough to buy into that argument are dumb ass southern whites and ignorant white women who keep the rest of us from equality by kiss the white “boy’s” ass.

I have two daughters, I don’t want them growing up in a world that forces them to have something a white “boy” wants shoved up their vagina’s to discourage them from having an abortion.

What world are you from? Whatever the state of affairs Al has to live in, he has only the white man to blame. They have had all the power in the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches of our government up until Barack became the President.

The last time I checked that still left them with the Legislative and Judicial Branches. Al’s bitch is with the white “boy” no one else. Your denial of that is pass ludicrous it is pathetic.

When my son comes home crying because he is called names by the children of racist white “boys” I want to kill the little bastards. So I guess by your estimation I have a “chip on my shoulder too.”

    Cynthia

  5. Harold Says:

Sorry Al, but you are wrong again. The state of Florida is controlled by the republican party. White men control every aspect of that state. Bush was the last governor of FL and Crist is today’s.

Blame the white man for your problems in florida. They control that state as well as the other 49. If not by the executive branch then by the legislative and judicial.

They take credit for the good that their leadership brings and pass the bad on to the OTW. If you have problems with how the state of florida is being run, look in the mirror and vote the opposite when you go to the polls to elect FL representation.

    Harold

  6. Brenda Says:

Hello Zen Lill “it sounds like a righteous anger rant with a large dose of white categorizing thrown in.” It sounds that way to you because you are white.

What “categorizing” does he have to aim at? The category he has named is the category from which his angst comes from, that would be white racism. He calls the perps that from that category white boys. He does not call white men white boys. Is this just too deep for you?

If there is someone with a chip, it seems to be you. You see yourself being picked on by Robert. I don’t. You are not a racists, so correspondingly, he would not be calling you a racists.

Al, you are not a racist, so correspondingly you are not be called a white boy. If one or both of you have a problem with his calling those that practice from that category white boys, then I will accept by implication that you have never used the words, nigger, spick, wet back, slope, chink, etc when angered by an OTW in private.

    Yeah, right.

    Brenda

  7. Alycedale Says:

Zen Lill, you mean well. It is just that you have mistaken Robert’s intentions. I am not attempting to speak for him. But I know that most of us blacks are not asking for whites to do anything for us any more.

We have realized for a long time that we have to act or we will end up like the american white woman. You have spent 200 plus years asking the white boy nicely, to be nice.

If you had gotten off you knees and voted you would be in control of your own destiny today.

Robert doesn’t feel he has to kiss white ass by speaking to white america in a manner that would be acceptable to them to do “something for him” because his experience has told him that the white boy will always be a racist bastard.

So when he is speaking he is just telling it like it is and who gives a rusty mother fuck how it is being taken by the white world.

    That’s my take

    Alycedale

  8. Paul Says:

Zen Lill, so let me get this straight. The abused must be careful not to offend the abuser so as to get the abuser to lighten up.

I don’t think that was Ghandi’s intention. But if it was, Fuck that. I like Stokely Carmichael’s – “If a white man puts his hand on me I’m going to kill him before God gets the news.”

    Paul

  9. Tasha Says:

I’m black Zen Lill, and you can be in my posse any day. I like your guts. We got your back girl.

    Zen’s Posse, the Black Lillys

  10. Hui Says:

You americans are whacked. The topic is about Japan.

  11. Linda Says:

    Al, we got your back.

    Al’s posse.

  12. Irene Says:

Hui, don’t sweat it. Every now and then the regulars go off on each other. It’s all love.

As for Japan, when will they learn to stop using a blow torch as match. It is insane to use nuclear energy as a replacement for fossil fuels.

One accident or the lack of storage for the radioactive waste are reasons enough to understand that.

It is my belief that they are due for another disaster because they are still violating the earth’s dignity.

    Irene

  13. Scott Says:

Al, I find it very difficult to believe that Howie would evict you under those circumstances

    Scott

  14. Kent Says:

Aliens, Please, will somebody please start talking about aliens.

  15. Aya Says:

You americans with your “DRILL BABY DRILL” should not be lecturing Japan about its need to provide energy for its people.

  16. Jose Says:

    Zen Lill,

I like your style, too. And you are sexy when you go off like that. But I have to say that white me are lucky that it’s only their hair that is getting blown back.

The demographics are changing in this country. And when they are no longer the majority, that might just happen.

    Jose

  17. Nao Says:

Aya, people on this planet have every right to voice their opinions about what is happening in our country. Many Japanese don’t want to continue with nuclear power plants.

Men in government are forcing this upon us. Perhaps world pressure would help.

    Nao

  18. Marilou Says:

Zen Lill, I’m filipina american. It is true what Robert, RT is saying. My father is white, my sisters can pass. I cannot. It has been a miserable life for me. This country is so racist, it divides families.

Even my grandmothers on both sides resist having me along in pictures or family outings. Racism is deep. I hate myself sometimes.

Why did I have to be the one born filipina? I turned 20 yesterday and none of my father’s relatives came to my birthday party.

They send me off to law school tomorrow. They were careful to send me to a college across the country so they can play at being the happy white family.

    Marilou

  19. Liz Says:

It is my opinion Zen Lill that we would be doing something for ourselves as women by siding with Robert,Rt. Why support the white male establishment that suppresses us also?

I live on the East coast, but I would love to meet you Robert. I am Greek American 28 and a stock broker. I have a 646 area code and 36-24-36/ 5’10”, 124lbs frame with a killer ass.

    Need more

    Liz

  20. Anonymous Says:

    Shameless hussy.

  21. Eric Says:

Al, I agree with Scott. I can’t see Howie, doing that.

  22. Zen Lill Says:

Just to set the record straight – I did not say I disagreed with RobertRt, I merely stated the WAY in which it’s stated is redundant at this point. And not blowing back the hair and blowing back the hair of white men has not worked, so a new way is necessary. And yes, how about voting, I’m not on my knees, that would be religious women who have been indoctrinated to vote that way, not me.

If I disagreed with RobertRt, it would mean that as a woman I would be voting rethug, do I ever sound like that’s an option?? I think Alycedale and my the Black posse (thank you, Tasha) and Jose understood that I meant well and I’m merely throwing out suggestions for newer improved discourse on the subject. (AND go vote!)

…and Marylou/Cynthia, I have firsthand observed 2 friends go through life with siblings that look white while they look very Asian and black. I know…and I observe it here, do you think they’re pulling over whites for traffic infractions here, no it’s mostly Mexican and blacks in our ‘beach cities’ and the cops are racists to the core, they want to keep them ‘out’ even if they live here.

My take on Al’s rant was/is that white men who are not racists understand Rrt’s rant, it is just one of those things that I think merits a rethink, ALL of RobertRt’s arguments are excellent, to me they don’t really require all the ‘white boy’ repetition, we get who the culprit is and we all agree, the George’s of the world are not going to be persuaded, converted or anything else and calling them ‘white boy’ isn’t going to change that. I wasn’t suggesting to lie down like Ghandi (it’s not for everyone, to be sure) I said, there must be another way…this current way has not been working well…

To all of you who understood my essence of meaning well, thank you, to Cynthia…do you think I grew up under a rock? Of course, I know how offensive whites in this country can be, I do believe all US citizens should be shipped to another country for 2 years when they are over 16 so they can get over their American-centricities. There was no need to get personal and certainly not about who RobertRt ‘prefers’ bc if I want to date an intelligent brother, I will do so, Rrt isn’t the only one on the planet and in fact there are 2 in my dance card line who are articulate and intelligent and athlete that are built like brick houses ; ) so don’t you worry yourself about who’s picking ZL, I can hang on my own just fine, darlin’

    Luv, Zen Lill

  23. Zen Lill Says:

Al, I’m so sorry to hear your story, I hope you get the care you need and you’ll be up to posting again soon, Luv, Zen Lill

  24. Zen Lill Says:

…and I think you could do a reread of my comment, unless you were twisting words to fit your own worldview, and you can judge your own anger quotient there, there’s nothing in the content of my comment that agrees with racism.

My gist is to find a new approach to the issue bc to date, ranting and not voting for change hasn’t worked.

I am, however, frustrated myself with white women who think that bc they have it just freakin’ groovy that women around the rest of the globe are just a different cultural ilk and it’ll sort out in the end, really – how?! Women who think like this bc they have the luxury of hiding behind men and religion and probably some family indoctrination – I just watched religulously again, and the above groups are all in mass hypnotic state, which explains why massive groups of people can retell the god myth stories and keep a straight face, they’ve never even heard of Mithra and other way older god myths that hmm, have many things in common, I’d love to say I forgive people for falling for the doctrine but I have a hard time forgiving grown women/men for believing in the ‘good books’ bc they were written by men, and they just ‘have faith’ just because…

I’m ok with the idea that someone wants their imaginary omnipotent friend on their side and I say go for it as long as your views don’t run this country and those view don’t automatically overshadows others’ views of how women and OTW’s are treated. & someday, OTW’s will outnumber whites which is exactly why whites want to control them now.

…and that is the end of my morning rant, thank you. – ZL
