Good morning.

Two men arrested over Oklahoma ‘hate’ shooting spree

TULSA, Okla. — Police arrested two men early Sunday in connection with the North Tulsa shootings that saw three black people killed and another two injured, police said.

Cops apprehended two white males — 19-year-old Jake England and Alvin Watts, 32 — at 1:47am local time, KOKI reported.

They will be charged with three counts of murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill.

A statement from the Tulsa Police Department said, “Within 24 hours of its formation, the task force ‘Operation Random Shooter’ has completed its mission. Our sympathy goes out to the families of the victims and we hope that our efforts can bring some resolution and closure to these heinous acts.”

“We would like to thank everyone that assisted and more information will be forthcoming in a Sunday afternoon press conference,” it added.

The victims, all black, were seemingly shot at random as they walked in the street during a seven-hour period early Friday.

The killer did not utter slurs before blasting his victims with a small-caliber handgun, said investigators, who are trying to learn if the same weapon was used in each attack.

Police did not rule out the possibility of a hate-fueled rampage.

“If that’s where our investigation takes us, that’s where we’ll go,” Tulsa Police Officer Jason Willingham told The Post.

The shootings took place within three miles in Tulsa’s mostly black north side.

At 1:03 a.m, the gunman shot Dannaer Fields, 49, police said. She was rushed to the hospital where she died.

Three minutes later, he fired at two unidentified men, hitting one in the arm and the other in the torso.

They were hospitalized in critical condition, but are expected to live, said cops.

Before 2 a.m., Bobby Clark, 54, was shot dead, also in the torso.

A fifth victim, William Allen, 31, was discovered in the yard of a funeral home at about 8:30 a.m., police said. He had also taken a fatal shot to the torso.

“We assume that a [fifth] shooting occurred in the same time frame as the last four,” said Willingham.

Homicide Detective Sgt. Dave Walker said investigators have no forensic test results yet, but believe the attacks are linked because they happened at around the same time in the same area and all five victims were out walking.

Fields was found on Charles Shoemaker’s front lawn. Shoemaker said he didn’t hear any commotion before the bloodshed.

“I was awoken by my dog making a bunch of noise around one-fifteen,” said Shoemaker, 43. “I opened my front door and there’s a police officer.

“I didn’t even believe when he told me there was a body on my front yard so I came out.

“It looked like she was laying balled up in the fetal position,” he said.

Cathy Privette, one of Fields’ neighbors, said the victim was deeply religious. “I would give her rides to church,” Privette, 54, said.

She added that Fields, who lived alone, was always dressed as if she was headed to Sunday Mass.

Black community leaders met Friday evening in an effort to calm unrest and promote safety.

The Rev. Warren Blakney Sr., who heads the Tulsa NAACP, told the Tulsa World newspaper that someone seems to be “targeting black people to shoot.”

“I’m on edge for my people,” he said.

Residents of the north side fear an armed bigot is roaming the streets.

“We’re all nervous,” said Renaldo Works, 52, who was getting his hair cut at a salon yesterday morning.

“I’ve got a 15-year-old, and I’m not going to let him out late,” Works added. “People are scared.”

Blakney warned that distrust between cops and the city’s African-American community could prompt vigilantism.

More than a half-dozen citizens have sued the city, claiming wrongful arrest, and almost 40 people have had convictions overturned or sentences cut in a federal corruption probe of the Tulsa police.

“The police chief has assured me they are doing all they can,” Blakney added. “We don’t want anybody else hurt, white or black.”

Shoemaker, one of the few white people living in the neighborhood, said he feared being targeted for retribution.

“I’m always armed,” he warned. “I’m more inclined to carry now,” he said, although he concedes he doesn’t have a concealed weapons permit.

The Deadly Dark Side of Narcissism

When he walks into a room, he captures everyone’s attention immediately with his wide smile and witty jokes and charms strangers into becoming friends with him.

You know the kind of person I’m talking about.
Maybe you’re friends with this person. Maybe you’re in love with this person. Or maybe…just maybe…you are this person. And if you are, you should pay especially close attention.

This type of person is likely a narcissist.

Narcissists often make great first impressions, but a new study from University of Virginia in Charlottesville and University of Michigan in Ann Arbor shows that many male narcissists, in particular, have characteristics that can lead to serious health problems, such as a weakened immune system and cardiovascular problems.

    MIRROR, MIRROR

The study of narcissism included 106 undergraduate men and women (average age 20). The subjects each provided two samples of saliva—one at the outset of the study and a second sample 25 minutes later after they had completed a series of questionnaires, including one that was intended to determine which, if any, types of narcissistic traits they had.

The questionnaire measures several key components of narcissism. Psychologists consider some of these traits—such as leadership/authority, superiority/arrogance and self-absorption/self-admiration—

to be generally “healthy” because they contribute to positive aspects of narcissism, such as high self-esteem, said study coauthor David Reinhard, a graduate student in psychology at the University of Virginia.

(Remember, we are talking about the health of the narcissist, not the health of those around him!)

But other traits, such as exploitativeness (imagine Tom Sawyer tricking his friends into painting a fence by telling them how much fun it is) and entitlement (feeling that you deserve whatever it is that you want) are considered generally “unhealthy” because they have been associated with increased anxiety and depression.

Why the saliva samples? They were for measuring levels of the so-called stress hormone cortisol.

And what the researchers found was that men (but not women) who scored high on questions that pertained to “unhealthy” narcissistic traits had significantly higher levels of cortisol than participants who scored high on questions about “healthy” narcissistic traits.

WHAT A HORMONE CAN DO TO YOU

This cortisol elevation, Reinhard told me, suggests that men who have unhealthy narcissistic traits may have stress response systems that are always “on.”

And multiple studies in the past have linked long-term activation of this stress response system with a weaker immune system…cardiovascular problems such as high blood pressure and heart disease…chronic muscle pain…skin rashes…and more.

Researchers don’t know why certain narcissistic traits appear to crank up cortisol in men but not in women, but Reinhard speculated that it might be related to different societal expectations for men and women.

For example, females generally are encouraged to value relationships and seek social support, which may offset some of the worst costs of unhealthy narcissism and cushion them from stress—

whereas men, generally speaking, are less likely to call their buddies on the phone and talk about their feelings.

Even though narcissists have inflated self-opinions, their egos are often fragile, so constant perceived threats to their masculinity may cause narcissistic men to react defensively.

They take things personally, and they tend to see minor annoyances—like someone cutting in front of them in line at the store or grabbing a parking space before them—as major affronts.

Over time, the stress caused by defensive thinking and, in many cases, confrontational behavior takes its toll.

Narcissistic men are all around us—they are our husbands, fathers, brothers, sons and friends. They can be maddening but, ultimately, they are who they are.

So here’s my proposal—when you can, help guide them away from stress. It’s for everyone’s good.

Hi Mischa, wow, what’s going on with people…

RobertRt, Im glad I could provide you with a pleasant memory. And that is correct, having and showing heart & soul has nothing to do with color.
It also made me smile bc I was out with a longggg time friend yesterday and she said I don’t always like what you say or agree with what you say but your delivery is all heart and soul and for that reason alone I hope to keep you around in my life for a long time, like the rest of it.
My response: till death do us part and I don’t need to sign anything to mean that…she laughed. I’m married to several friends and it’s all free flowing, you need the Lily love, stop by for a dose, and if you’re good for a time without it or even contact, I’m good with that, too, it’s right here, being, doing and waiting…till next time…

    Luv, Zen Lill

…and condolences to the families of the victims, I really cannot fathom how people do things like this, it’s completely baffling. – ZL

  4. Charikar Says:

Islam does not require the wearing of a face-covering veil (niqab) nor does it prescribe women to wear a burqa.

The burqa was in use before the period of Islam, in Bedouin tridition.

Muslim men are the worst enemy of Islam. They use Islam as a means of controlling women and making pedophilia legal.

The Burqa should be banned, simply because it’s politic, not Islamic.

    Charikar

  5. Human Events Says:

All of that for nothing, huh? Among all the fanfare, including the unveiling of two, brand-spanking new statues of former leaders Kim Jung-il and Kim-il-sung, the launch of a North Korean missile took all of a few minutes to explode. This certainly, as others have said this morning, pretty much puts a kibosh on the hopes of the Obama administration to have meaningful talks with the Hermit Kingdom over their nuclear aspirations.

In other news, the on-going Hillary Rosen/Ann Romney saga finally comes to an end with the president weighing in. President Obama, rightfully, commented on the situation last night, “There’s no tougher job than being a mom. Anybody who would argue otherwise, I think, probably needs to rethink their statement.” Republicans have to keep hammering this notion home: that it’s the liberal elites that are anti-women. Heck, this White House pays its female staffers LESS than it’s male staffers. Columnist Michelle Malkin weighs in on the situation in today’s celebrity columnist section.

On our end — the great John Stossel stopped by the Human Events offices this week, and David had a chance to sit with him and talk to the Fox host about his new book and the incompetence of government. Part one of David’s interview is below.

On the campaign trail — Mitt Romney is in St. Louis today, addressing the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting. Stay tuned to Human Events for updates this afternoon. Speaking of guns, Neil W. McCabe, our fearless editor of Guns & Patriots, has a report on the latest book on the Fast & Furious case. The book charges that Department of Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano knew about the ‘gun-walking’ operation that led to Border Patrol agent Brian Terry’s death.

That’s all from me this Friday the 13th. Have a great weekend.

    -Adam

    =============

Bill O’Reilly sat down with Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, Thursday night to discuss the Wednesday arrest of George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed her teenage son.

Martin was walking through a gated community in Sanford, Fla. in late February when he was shot to death by Zimmerman, a self-appointed neighborhood watch volunteer. Following the killing, Zimmerman was not arrested for his actions, as he claimed he shot Martin in an act of self defense. The case garnered a huge amount of public scrutiny, as supporters of Martin’s family and activists called for Zimmerman’s arrest, stating that Martin was a victim of racial profiling. Zimmerman was arrested earlier this week.

O’Reilly, who has been critical of the media for “rushing to judgment” about Martin’s case, told Fulton that he was sorry for her loss. “I can’t imagine the pain you go through,” he said. “So I think all Americans are feeling your pain. And we all want justice in the case…From the beginning, we’ve just called for calm. Let the system work. Let’s not convict Zimmerman on television. Let’s not make these wild charges.”

O’Reilly said that last night, he called for MSNBC host Al Sharpton to apologize. Sharpton has been a vocal proponent for justice in the killing of Martin, and has organized rallies with the family in Florida through his action network. “Was I wrong to say that?” O’Reilly asked Fulton.
    ================
Racist have no feeling for OTWs. It is easy to see how cruel the nazis and american slave master could be that way to another human being.

Just watch this bigot bring a grieving on just to ambush her with his agenda of showing the bigots that watch his channel that he is against the man who forced the police of Sanford to take action against the murder of 17 year old child.

    Davud

  7. Lewis Says:

My white friends are always saying “why does it have to be racial.? That statement is an example of the insensitivity the white race has because they have been America’s Affirmative Action Beneficiaries all their lives.

I just want to collar one them sometimes and say asshole think before you flap those slits you call lips

If he had been a white boy walking through that neighborhood he would not have been accosted by Zimmerman. He was followed BECAUSE he was BLACK?

How much more racial than that can you get?

The pretend ignorance of that situation is what is so galling. It they had a teenager who have to fear being followed because of the color of his skin. They would be screaming racial every fucking thing they could.

These are the same hypocrites who could clearly see racial profiling when the latino woman was accused of not allowing some white boys to take a test.

But it is just too difficult to see it when a black child is murdered by a white boy stalking him with a gun because he is BLACK.

My advice if you have friends that pose that question to you. Whether you are an OTW or a white person with common sense, just ignore the racist bastard. They have told you enough.

    Lewis

  8. Sharon Says:

David, I read that article. Not all white people are like O’Reilly. I agree with you. Many whites want to pretend this was just another shooting because they don’t feel the threat in their lives.

We don’t get stalked because of the color of our skins unless it is by one of our own serial killers. Many of us pretend that it isn’t that bad because we don’t have to experience it.

One of my friends copied this quote from O’Reilly and sent it out to several people as an example that this was just Sharpton and other black agitators trying to make a “tragedy” a racial issue.
    ———————–

“We’re all Americans here. No one wants a 17-year-old son shot down on the street…Mr. Zimmerman doesn’t want to see his son’s life ruined because of this. This is a tragedy all the way around. And we have to handle it with the utmost respect,” O’Reilly said.
    ——————————-
The question that comes to mind is why is it that we whites try to label the death of a black person by a white person as a “tragedy.” when we have no problem seeing racial overtones when a white person suffers some injury at the hands of the system or any OTW in that system that had a vote in the white person suffering that injury?

Hypocrisy is the easy answer. But I think it is just an inability to put oneself in the place of an OTW if you are white.

I would just like to set the record straight for the O’Reillys of the world. The tragedy is that a black child has to fear being stalked and murdered by a white person just because he is black.

The Tragedy is that the justice system was all too willing to let the murder go because the victim was black.

The Tragedy is that it takes a super mounted effort by members of the victim’s race to force the media and the justice system to address the child’s murder.

The rest is just every day living in a white world. Face it, in America it is our world and OTWS just live in it the best they can.

    Sharon

  9. Mindy Says:

I am sorry to say that I watched that episode of O’Reilly. He was despicable. But my husband daughter and two sons were rooting for O’Reilly to set the “race baiters” straight.

So sad that white people will pretend that they don’t see the difference between Trayvon being shot by a black man and his being stalked and killed by a white because of the color of skin.

    Pathetic

    Mindy

  10. WR Says:

I don’t give an ish about what Mr. Zimmerman wants. He should have helped his son deal with his anger management problems before an innocent young man got shot. As for Ms. Fulton I think she appeared on O’Reilly in part to show that this case shouldn’t be divided between party lines. It’s not a freaking political debate.

  11. WO Says:

There is so much hate on this blog. As soon as some people see Fox News or Bill O”Reiily’s name mentioned they go crazy.

I watched this video at least 5 times and never saw any disrespect for Trayvon’s mother. As a parent I think he sees both her and Zimmerman’s father as victim’s.

My greatest concern is if after all is said and done it is shown that Zimmerman commited no crime under Florida law (if you like the law or not) the same people will reappear and try and make people believe justice was not done for Trayvon and his family.

  12. AD Says:

although I can’t believe I’m agreeing with him, I think O’Reilly was fairly respectful to Treyvon’s mother.

just imagine for a moment what Nancy Grace would have done to her.

  13. RC Says:

I wonder how BillO would feel if it was his son? Then Fox News would be calling for the shooter’s head!

  14. Ellen Says:

For the Right hypocrisy has no bounds. So here they are showing compassion for murders.

Well as long as they are white murdering OTWs.

Imagine bringing a grieving mother on your show to make a point that you think one of the people who marched to get the justice system to take it seriously needs to give the murderer of her son an apology.

Only a racist would see nothing wrong in that move.

    Ellen.

  15. Regina Says:

WO, you nailed it when you said “there is so much hate on this blog.” Actually you must have been looking in a mirror when you posted it.

How much hate for blacks you must have to suggest that your “greatest concern” was that “is if after all is said and done it is shown that Zimmerman commited no crime under Florida law (if you like the law or not) the same people will reappear and try and make people believe justice was not done for Trayvon and his family.”

That just about said all we need to know about your concern for the fact that a mother’s child was murdered. But of course that wouldn’t be a concern to you because the mother was black.

It’s the white boy who you are more concerned about. Will he be acquitted because he was within the SYG law to shoot that child.

Never mind the fact that he stalked and shot him because he was black. It is okay with you because he had the right under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law.

Let’s hope you are not one of the white bigots on the jury.

    Regina
