“Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger

Good morning!

Sometimes while perusing the net, I come upon some strange shit.

Just noticing…

…a teen conservative magazine claims that Ronald Reagan was the first black president because he was far better to blacks than Obama has been.

Readers: This is incredible – Can you believe this crap? Just look at what this magazine is telling these kids. And the conservative parents just love it: “Hey, subscribe your kid to The Conservative Teen…teach them your set of values early on in life.” My translation: “Subscribe your kid to The Conservative Teen to indoctrinate them early on to your set of values“. And really…c’mon…”values”? We know about conservative “values”.   Brainwash them into believing the lies, and teach them the art of hypocrisy, is more like it. We know they’re good at that.

To see the 9 best headlines from Conservative Teen magazine, click here. Thankfully, I read that this publication only ran for one issue this winter.

After this post went viral, the magazine mysteriously disappeared from the Internet!  The website is gone, the publisher won’t talk, and the man who registered the website can’t be found.

But no doubt something will be created to take its place.

MM: I have been thinking about your comment for a few days now. I so did not have the energy to answer you as your comments were so, if you don’t mind me saying,  ”inane”.  And then luckily I didn’t have to waste my time answering you. Lewis did it for me. Thanks Lewis.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone! Blog me what you’re just noticing.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. Good morning, hmmm…wonder why this magazine disappeared? (bc it needed to)

Kent, are you happy, it’s unlikely Howie will ever come back and your demanding ‘hurry up and write, I’ve got deadlines’ shit was part of the cause…he also didn’t feel the fans were very loyal and you can rail about him being a baby or whatever but the man supplied some rich alien stories and now that’s over.

    Luv, Zen Lill

  2. Laure Says:

I couldn’t get in all yesterday to comment on this title. I hope this makes it.

I have so many friends that frequent that publication. It is a bogus magazine aimed at controlling the minds of our white youth.

  3. June Says:

Michelle, I guess using the same standards the Right could if Romney by some incredible case of insanity got elected president they could call him the first female president since he proposes that poor women shouldn’t be given a choice.

Poor women, he said, shouldn’t be given a choice, but instead should be required to work outside the home to receive Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits. “[E]ven if you have a child 2 years of age, you need to go to work,” Romney said of moms on TANF.

Recalling his effort as governor to increase the amount of time women on welfare in Massachusetts were required to work, Romney noted that some had considered his proposal “heartless,” but he argued that the women would be better off having “the dignity of work” — a suggestion Ann Romney would likely take issue with.

“I wanted to increase the work requirement,” said Romney. “I said, for instance, that even if you have a child 2 years of age, you need to go to work. And people said, ‘Well that’s heartless.’ And I said, ‘No, no, I’m willing to spend more giving day care to allow those parents to go back to work. It’ll cost the state more providing that daycare, but I want the individuals to have the dignity of work.’”

Regardless of its level of dignity, for Ann Romney, her work raising her children would not have fulfilled her work requirement had she been on TANF benefits. As HuffPost reported Thursday:

  4. Christine Says:

Michelle that magazine is free for many of my friends. We read it a lot. We need more third parties to represent the fact that more people are independents and libertarians than truly hard left or right.

  5. Antonio Says:

That article is only one of the stupid things you can find in that magazine for “American (meaning white) teens.

Seriously, how is their racist, sex obsessed, homophobic fascism gonna survive if they don’t continue it in their children.

    Antonio

  6. Joyce Says:

This is from the magazine’s website
    ——————————–
“Regrettably, we were unable to reach the minimum number of subscribers required to mass print the first issue of The Conservative Teen magazine. The completed first issue in digital form is now available for free viewing on this website.”
    ————————–
From the cover it looks like it could have been straight out of the Nazi reqime.

  7. DI Says:

i’m still trying to figure out why conservatives talk about african-americans being brainwashed to be liberal but in the entire magazine there was not one black person not even the token black that you put in to not look racist.

  8. GF Says:

For a group worrying about “indoctrination” from liberals, this seems a lot like… oh… what’s that word I’m looking for? Oh yeah. Indoctrination.

Which is sad because there actually could be a decent teen conservative magazine out there. But when you’re calling Ronald Reagan the first black President when he started his campaign in the town where civil rights workers were killed… I don’t know.

This much bullshit must be mocked mercilessly.

  9. RW Says:

After seeing that i assumed they probably spread this subjective propaganda exclusively to elementary school kids.

  10. Miguel Says:

I love the way they decide to define certain words to help the teens get along with the reading.

They had to define “Cameo” that is just wonderful.

  11. WJ Says:

Abstinence works! That’s why states with the highest use of abstinence-only sex education have the lowest teen preg… wait a minute.

As long as we raise our children with the proper shame about their genitals and natural desires, teaching them to wait until marriage like God wants, they will never get pregnant as teenagers, like Bristol Palin… hold up one second…

I love how a magazine that states it’s own “conservative bias” on the cover, in the title, keeps going on about liberal bias in the media. It’s so unaware that it’s sadly hilarious.

  12. Sharon Says:

Face it. That magazine is for all the prude, racist, ignorant teenagers out there who want to be just like Mommy and Daddy.

  13. AM Says:

The “Ronald Reagan was a black man” article is amazing. I love how the team boldly stood up for separate but equal. They were true heroes.

Also, if anyone cares, the “black unemployment” claims are classic lying statistics because they don’t take into account how black unemployment related to white or other races’ unemployment.

  14. DI Says:

The statistics also “lie” by simply ascribing the drop in black unemployment in later years to the policies of Ronald Reagan’s tax cuts (paraphrased). Which is opinion.

With that open-ended language, black unemployment could have dropped in the last 4 years of the Clinton presidency and still be claimed to be caused by the Reagan tax cut policies because, see, well…that was when it really started working. SMH…

  15. DK Says:

Pretend that these things being said were being done in Iran, North Korea or even on UK or Japan – Would the Americans see it as anti-American?

Whether you like it or not President Obama is the president of our country. The office deserves respect by Americans and I see this as unpatriotic at the very least.

Liberals, Gays, Women, Minorities are a part of our country. I am just as American as an old white christian man from Alabama and to demonize me is to demonize America.

You can criticize a policy without doing what these people are doing.

  16. NR Says:

Those definitions are put there solely for the home-schoolers… But actual really hard words like “promulgated” are NOT defined…

  17. ES Says:

NR, Speaking as someone who was home-schooled until the 9th grade, I am quite well-read of my own accord, and understood easily both “cameo” and “promulgated.”

I am sure you are aware of children that public school education has failed, and private and home-schooling fails some kids.

I think it is a sweeping generalization to assume that all home-schooled children are unintelligent. Browsing the articles, I was a little offended that the author felt the need to define certain words.

I tried to excuse it by saying some teens may not know the definition of eugenics, but then I quickly realized that, as I have a Republican Christian background, I am very familiar with the term, and any teenager reading this magazine would also be well aware of it.

  18. Anonymous Says:

I actually found the article “How to Draw Obama” to be interesting.

It’s an interesting question. All caricatures of politicians (or any caricature) are loony. That’s the point. But if you caricature a black person you are always opening yourself up to criticism for being racist.

So political cartoons are not allowed? I think it’s a fair question: How to caricature a minority in an acceptable way.

  19. Robert,RT Says:

If one wants to settle the issue of whether Ronald Reagan deserves to be called “The First Black President,” he or she need only examine this quote by Ronald Reagan.

“If an individual wants to discriminate against Negroes or others in selling or renting his house, it is his right to do so.” — Ronald Reagan

    ——————-
If you were a bigot having a little fun. I guess you could call him that.

    Robert, rt
