The Chosen One

Doug needed a good laugh last night, and who am I to turn down a good laugh especially when it involves Jack Black, one of my most fav actors. If you are a JB fan like we are (loved him in ‘School of Rock’), you will love him in this role. Why do I suspect that his personality is not much different from the characters that he plays? I would just love to have Jack as a friend….I might even adopt him if I could…that is just how cool and funny I think he is.
Anyway, if you haven’t guessed it by now, we went to see the animated Kung Fu Panda…his latest flick. And I have to tell you it was hilarious, although maybe we were the only ones really laughing in the theater. JB plays a noodle cooking panda named Po who dreams and inspires to becoming the ‘chosen one’: The Dragon Warrior! Unfortunately he is fat, slow, and not only out of shape, but is basically a level zero in Kung Fu. Dustin Hoffman is perfect at playing the guru, master Shifu, a little reminiscent of Yoda, so he is instantly likable in a very familiar way. Can you tell who plays ‘Tigress’?
I won’t tell you the rest, but I thought it was sweet, thought provoking, and funny all at the same time. How could I not like a movie that quotes one of my favorite sayings, ‘Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift…that is why we call it the present.’
Today is a gift…every day is a gift. Be ‘present’ and enjoy it.
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle ?

It was a funny, enjoyable, and delightful film. There were parts in the script that hit home as their ZEN descriptions and examples rang loud. It was a great story, with good v/o acting. I would go to see Jack Black read the phone book, as he can make anything hilarious. For a good time out to laugh and let things go for a while, go see this one!

HI Michelle, I loved this movie, so many good lines, I’ll have to see it again. The last part where his Zen master is lying down with his eyes shut and Po says, ‘are you dead?’ and Zen says, ‘No, you idiot’ was sooo funny, alonog with ‘wanna go get something to eat?’ hahaha…
My friend Jayne and I were singing ‘everybody was Kung Fu fighting’ along with the movie at the end, normally that would embarrass my kid, but Lily laughed and her and the pals sang also. Love that animation with the Zen background styling, I could live in a place like that (for a time, 3-6 months a year maybe?).
Today is quick and I can’t believe I just did what I did,
http://edgy1.wordpress.com/ “I said WHAT?” yeah, very short today. Got my new used 17″ laptop and am about to upload/download/whatever so I will be FREE to roam the coffeshops of the South Bay writing, working (?) etc…as of this afternoon! Yes…
Have a great weekend, Zen Lill

You could never offend me. I respect your comments because I know that they are made, whether to me or anyone else, honestly without intentional malice.
I am vain. So I’m spending a lot of time looking into the specialists who perform this service. Well not so much time, I have to keep up with the politics of the day and the needs of those that I promised that I would do what I could for their unfortunate situations.
I feel so inadequate when it comes to doing what I was sure at the time I could do. Money isn’t as powerful today as I thought when I assured them that I could help. I am dividing my time between my promise to them and my desire to get deeply involved politics again.
I haven’t decided if I will support the “exotic” candidate. But i know that I can’t support that flip-flopping McCain. I might be persuaded if he picks Huckabee as his VP to give a few dollars to the cause. I am presently looking into his positions on the war.
