“Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger

Good morning!

“Just noticing…”

  • …Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) was noted saying that Republicans “don’t have a problem with women.”
  • … Judge Head told FOX 34 in Lubbock, Texas, that if President Obama gets re-elected “I’m thinking the worst. Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy.”
  • South Carolina this week will try to convince a United States federal court its new voter identification law doesn’t discriminate against black voters, contrary to a finding by the federal government.
  • …with all of the backlash that Akin is receiving from his comments on “legitimate rape”, American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer is now comparing Akin to a victim of rape.

Readers: These are just a few of the recent thoughts and actions of the republican party. You know there are plenty more to discuss. Hey, it seems that even mother nature isn’t on the GOP’s side. If that isn’t a sign of horrific times to come, I don’t know what is.

What are you just noticing? Blog me.

Happy Sunday everyone! Peace & Love.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. 2. LL Says:

Its about time someone put the RNC chairman in place and their party . I watch the Morning Joe show every morning and this morning it was a good one.

I am getting tired of the walking on eggs when it comes to a serious topic. You told it like it was and I do believe the majority of US totally agree. Kudos to ya . OBAMA in 2012

  3. Lois Says:

LL, I didn’t see the show but I got this dialogue quote from the “Morning Joe” show between Chris Mathews and that fucking bigot Reince Priebus the chairman of the RNC.
    ========================

Chris Matthews exploded at Reince Priebus on Monday’s “Morning Joe,” tearing into the Republican National Committee chairman and accusing his party of playing the race card.

The MSNBC host was livid over Mitt Romney’s recent birth certificate joke, and false claims that Obama ended work requirements for welfare.

“That cheap shot … was awful,” Matthews said, referring to the joke. “It is an embarrassment to your party to play that card … you are playing that ethnic card there.” As Priebus apparently laughed and co-host Joe Scarborough tried to get a word in, Matthews continued, “you can sit there and giggle about it, but the fact is your party is playing that card.”

“You think Mitt Romney’s playing the race card?” Scarborough asked.

“There’s no doubt he did,” Matthews said. Co-host Mika Brzezinski speculated that Romney may have said what he said because he is an “awkward joker.”

Priebus said Matthews was just trying to “push his brand” with his “monologue.”

“it just seems funny that the first joke he ever told in his life was about Obama’s birth certificate,” Matthews said.

Later when Priebus alleged that Obama was looking at European policies for guidance, Matthews lost it again.

“Where do you get this from?” Matthews shouted. “This is insane.” He charged that Priebus was “playing that card again.”

“Let’s just work on tone,” Brzezinski said. “Chris, let him answer the question,” Scarborough said.

“I’m not going to get into a shouting match with Chris so you guys can move on,” Priebus said. “Because you’re losing, that’s why,” Matthews said. “Garbage, garbage,” Priebus muttered.

“It’s your garbage,” Matthews fired back.
    =========================
People like those in my family that pretend that they aren’t aware of the racism that many in our race are using against Obama create the permission that breed this type of racism.

    Lois

  4. Willis Says:

Romney is playing the race card. The Right are proud of it. It makes them smile because it is code to all the knuckle dragging mouth breathing amoeba who will be lead to vote for Richie Rich.

  5. Juliet Says:

Chris Matthews is the kind of white male I wish I had in my family. Men who are not intimidated by the racist tiny prick guys that play the race card every time it is convenient for them.

Thank God for men like Chris Matthews.

    Juliet

  6. DD Says:

Chrissy sure has his panties in a bunch!

  7. Jeff Says:

Matthews went off, but he was spot on there. The GOP is playing the race card. It is one of their “go to” plans when they’ve got nothing of substance to say, which is all the time.

It works because many of my race are conscious less to the sensitivities of the OTWS.

    Jeff

  8. MH Says:

Chirs Matthews is hack for the Obama Adminstration. It’s almost funny to watch him “do his thing” for Obama. I guess Obama still gives Chirs that ” tingly feeling up his leg”…LOL

  9. Ingrid Says:

    Sorry Boys & Girls,
Chris was on the money with this issue debate.

  10. Health Info Says:

Heart-Healthy Ice Pops and Other Treats

When I see patients during the summer, I love to talk up some of the great fresh foods that they can easily add to their diets. A basic tenet of naturopathy is that nutrient-packed foods can be used as “medicine” to help prevent chronic conditions such as cancer and heart disease.

And the summer season—when local fresh fruits and vegetables are readily available in most parts of the country—is perhaps the best time of year to give your diet a “nutrient boost.” With a little creativity and a trip to your own garden and/or your local farmer’s market or grocery store, you can easily add more foods to your daily diet that not only taste great, but also help protect your health. My favorite nutrient-packed summer foods…

    Fresh flowers.
You may have never thought of this, but fresh blossoms of nasturtium, violet and calendula make a great addition to greens or potato salad. Not only do these flowers make your dish look beautiful, they also contain minerals, such as potassium and magnesium, and beta-carotene—key nutrients that promote heart, bone and muscle health.

    My advice:
Add six to eight of the fresh flowers mentioned above (look up photos of the flowers online so you don’t mistakenly eat a different variety that may not be as safe or tasty). Flowers taste a little bitter but nicely complement certain greens—for example, I like violets on spinach.

    Heart-healthy ice pops.
You can make your own anthocyanin-rich ice pops by freezing the fresh, unsweetened juice of purple or red fruit. To ensure optimal freshness, make your own juice.

Anthocyanin, the pigment in grapes, blueberries, raspberries and pomegranates, helps improve blood vessel health, which benefits your entire body. Studies show that anthocyanin can help prevent heart disease and cataracts and reduce inflammation.

    My advice:
Buy an ice pop tray or use an ice cube tray and add a few frozen cubes to your water or iced tea.

    Parsley pesto.
Two tablespoons of chopped parsley contain ample vitamin C and all of your daily vitamin K requirement. Caution: You may need to use less parsley if you take a blood thinner—too much vitamin K may interfere with these drugs.

Parsley pesto—a blend of parsley and basil, olive oil, pine nuts or walnuts and Parmesan cheese—is a delicious way to get more of this nutrient-packed food. My advice: Make a traditional pesto recipe with half parsley and half basil. Serve on pasta or rice or as a dip.

    Sun tea.
Summer-harvested peppermint, which aids digestion, is delicious prepared as sun tea—a great alternative to sugary beverages. My advice: In a glass jar filled with three quarts of water, add about 12 well-rinsed six-inch peppermint stalks (leaves and stems)—or eight bags of your favorite herbal tea—and three tablespoons of honey. Seal it and set it out in the sun for six hours.

    Watermelon.
Watermelon is an absolute nutrient powerhouse. It contains lycopene, vitamin C and beta-carotene—all of which help prevent cancer and promote immune health. My advice: Choose the dark pink or red-fleshed varieties of watermelon for the greatest nutrient boost.

She is past president of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a contributing editor to The Alternative Advisor: The Complete Guide to Natural Therapies and Alternative Treatments (Time Life).

  11. Craig Says:

Matthews pissed off Priebus — who had zero answers for very legitimate questions. I don’t always like Matthews’ bombastic style, but on substance he’s spot-on.

More in the media need to hold these people’s feet to the fire like this. But most are gutless or secretly against the black man being held up as an example of serious competition for the loft place we white men have held without necessarily earning it.

    Craig

  12. Anny Says:

Chris Matthews behavior was low class gutter trash. And Joe and Mika sat there while a colleague berated a guest without allowing him to answer. This was about as low class as you get -even for a cable news channel.

  13. BH Says:

Thank you Chris Matthews. This is not the time to allow the GOP machine to cater their filth as a plan. They have made all kinds of bogus claims about our president that are totally untrue; yet, they will just smooth it over like they are trying to pour a soda onto a raging fire.

Why don’t they do like John McCain and clear up the facts. Barack Obama was born in the United States and is our president rightfully and truthfully. If you want to remove him from office, use the election and not some bogus claims that are truly meant to be offensive to him and to his supporters especially people of color.

  14. Ida Says:

Reince Priebus is the same guy who said this morning on CBS that they should “prosecute” President Obama for not fulfilling his promise to the American people and that blood is dripping from Obama’s hands.

The host didn’t blink as this sick shit was being advocated.

He uses violent and insidious imagery in his language and he calls himself chairman of the RNC.
