This ‘N That Chitchat

Good morning!
Happy Monday – I HOPE this week is off to a good start. Nothing to post today – I just want to respond to some of you.
Lis: The news in Syria is not good. I HOPE your friend and her family were able to get out safely.
Marianne: Happy to hear that you were safe amongst the craziness.
Molly: I believe I posted this quite some time ago but it is a good one to revisit. Thanks for sharing.
Rebecca: Would you like to nominate Bloomberg as a new member of the LSOS Club?
Elizabeth: It seems from the accounts of readers who were there, and just common sense, the cops really didn’t seem to care who was in their way when they started shooting into the crowd. They were just anxious to pull the trigger.
Dimah: My heart goes out to you and all the women there. The situation is not good for women no matter who is in charge. My HOPE is that miracles will happen. May you stay strong and safe.
Lauren: Isn’t it interesting how your friends say that many OTWs are merely voting color. Not that I feel they are – Clearly Obama is the best and only pick for president. (I don’t need to go into the details – we all know the reasons) But interesting to make a comment like that when they are clearly merely voting color – the white man Romney. But typical hypocritical response from repubs.
Happy to hear that you are making the intelligent decision to vote for Obama. It is girls like you that can have a huge impact on your girlfriends to do the same same. Thank you for your concern. I am well aware of what the repubs intend to do. I plan to do my best and I expect the rest of the country to do their part as well. We women of this country can make this happen if we stick together and vote for what’s best for all – We need Obama and flowing coattails. Are you with me?
Ralph: We may have come along for the ride but soon we discovered the ride sucked. We’re ready for a bigger and better ride, and no tiny dick prick is going to prevent us.
Melissa: Sounds pretty typical of republican rhetoric. Although I don’t exactly think it is funny. It is dishonest at best and dangerous at worst, if Romney lands in the White house. What would be funny is if you exposed these LSOSs and told the truth. The world would be watching – go for it.
Kimberly: I know exactly what you mean. Good luck in the dating world. From what I have heard from my single girlfriends who have been on the dating scene for awhile, they reach a certain age, they lose their tolerance for dating. I have just begun – wish me luck.
An Alien 1: I realize that you have already gotten some good advice, minus the “simply have a bite” comment. I like Jill’s comment - please do feast on the disgusting men if you’re going to eat anyone. I don’t see why that wouldn’t be within the operating parameters of the Emperor.
Yes, like Polyana said, I do think you are watching porn, or perhaps a movie where couples were “swinging”? Non the less, I think Polyana had some good advice, and it would be what I would suggest as well. From what I hear about alien love, it seems it is like no other. Perhaps she is seeking out other suitors because you are not available to her when she wants you or perhaps she is afraid your time will be up here and she’ll lose you. In any case clear conversations are a must.
Zen Lill: Yes, never enough time. Hugs to Elke. :)
Larry: Happy to hear that in the midst of your work, you are enjoying yourself and still reading. I wish you success.
LL: I rarely catch that show. And I haven’t been so hot on Matthews for awhile. I don’t think he’s been a true and truthful Obama supporter. But thanks for bringing it up and thanks to Lois for posting. I did find the segment and watched it. Right on Matthews. He was relentless and rightly so. I tried to post the video here, but couldn’t, so here is the link.
Oh and did you catch, Mika’s ending comment, thanking Priebus, and then saying thank you to Chris Matthews – “I think”. What do you mean “I think”? I like that Matthews got hard and truthful, exposing these racist LSOSs – we need more conversations/confrontations like this. Mika should be delighted, but I don’t know much about her and what side she truly stands on when it comes to punching that ticket. Please someone enlighten me. Thanks.
Peace out.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

The Queen of Clean’s Amazing Stain-Removal Tricks
For Counters, Carpets, Furniture, More
No matter what household miracles a cleanser promises, certain stains appear destined to become permanent fixtures in our décor. These unsightly spots resist our best efforts to scrub or spray them away, whether we’re using a popular product or great-grandma’s homegrown concoction. Before throwing in the paper towel, you might do well to try these effective ways to remove seemingly immovable spots on counters, carpets, furniture, walls and appliances.*
THE KITCHEN
Countertops.
On porous granite or marble countertops, tough spills, such as wine and tomato-based stains, require quick action for the best results. Immediately blot up and spray water on the spot, then cover the area with a paste of baking soda and water that is the consistency of thick pancake batter. Cover this poultice with plastic wrap for 24 hours, then remove and wash with mild dish soap and water. Reapply if the stain isn’t gone.
For especially difficult stains that are resistant to the baking soda poultice, especially stains that you have not dealt with immediately, try 3% hydrogen peroxide, first testing a small, discreet area for possible discoloration of the stone.
Fold a piece of cotton gauze so that it is roughly the size of the stain, and saturate it with the hydrogen peroxide. Place the pad on the stain, then cover with plastic wrap and secure the edges with painter’s tape. Leave a plate or other heavy object on top for 24 hours. Reapply if necessary. Wash off well when done.
On laminate countertops, which are especially prone to coffee, tea and wine stains, try a mixture of cream of tartar and lemon juice as thick as pancake batter. Rub gently in a circular motion, letting the mixture sit for an hour if necessary. Again, test in an inconspicuous spot first.
For especially tough stains, nail polish remover or paint thinner may work, but if either one touches the counter seams, it can damage the glue. To avoid scratches, never use steel wool or abrasives on the counter.
On a wood counter, for a heat mark (a white mark where a hot object drew moisture from wood), massage petroleum jelly into the mark with your fingers, let it sit overnight and then wipe it off in the morning. If the mark is lighter but not gone, repeat the treatment. If this doesn’t work, consider the following, but use extreme care.
Lay a folded towel over the spot, and press with an iron on the medium-hot setting for about a minute. If the mark isn’t disappearing, turn to the steam setting on your iron and go over the towel again, alternating between steam and no steam. Caution: Keep the iron moving, and keep it on the towel.
Stainless steel appliances may look impressive, but they pose a huge cleaning problem—their finishes easily becoming smeared. Trying to clean them with soap and water can build up residue. After much trial and error, I found two methods that work.
CLR Stainless Steel Cleaner, a quick spray-and-wipe product, leaves a streak-free shine and removes fingerprints. http://www.Jelmar.com
For mix-it-yourselfers, wring out a microfiber cloth in a solution of 50% warm water and 50% white vinegar. Wipe down the stainless steel surface, and quickly buff with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
THE BATHROOM
Shower. Soap scum on glass shower doors can pose a tough problem. To clean, rub on some undiluted liquid fabric softener, let it sit for about an hour, apply more softener, then rub with a gentle scrubbing sponge. Wash with liquid dish soap and water, then rinse and buff.
To remove soap scum, mold and mildew from plastic shower curtains and liners, put them in the washing machine with regular detergent and two cups of white vinegar. Add several old towels, and run them through the regular wash cycle. When the wash is done, gather the curtain in a towel to avoid dripping water and rehang in the bathroom, stretching it fully to dry.
Toilet.
Waterline ring can be a stubborn, nasty eyesore. To clean, shut off the water at the toilet tank and flush.
Then spray on white vinegar, and sprinkle on borax. Rub the line with a piece of very fine drywall sandpaper. Turn the water back on, and flush.
Tile and grout.
Try one cup of borax, two cups of baking soda and one-to-two cups of hot water. Mix to pancake-batter consistency, then scrub on tiles and grout with a brush, and rinse well when done. Make sure that the brush is soft enough to avoid scratching the tile.
CARPETS AND BEDS
Rugs and wall-to-wall carpeting attract all manner of stains.
Pet urine is probably the number-one carpet stain problem, and I have found a particularly helpful product.
Pee Whiz, a lightly scented, natural product, digests the protein in pet and human urine, which is necessary to remove the stain. (Disclosure: I sometimes am paid to appear at events to speak about Pee Whiz, but I began using it years before I started doing the endorsements.) First, blot up as much urine as possible, then spray on a heavy dose of the
Pee Whiz.
Wait a few hours, blot, then lightly spray again. For old, deep urine stains, apply the product heavily. After a few hours, extract the product with a carpet-cleaning machine. Note: Pee Whiz also works on food, vomit and feces stains, and can be used on beds.
Food.
For food on carpets, keep a bottle of club soda handy. When you have a liquid spill, pour on club soda and blot with a paper towel or cloth. The carbonation will lift the spill to the surface, and the salts will reduce staining. Keep applying and blotting until you see only clear water on your towel. Place a large pad of paper towels on the spot, and stand on it until the area is mostly dry, then gently brush the carpet.
Red wine.
White wine not only pairs well with fish, it also works on red-wine carpet spills. Pour white wine on the spill to neutralize the red wine and blot well. Follow by pouring on club soda and, again, blotting thoroughly.
For any sort of set-in carpet stain, try one cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and one teaspoon of ammonia. Saturate the stain, let it sit for a few hours, then blot. If the solution releases some of the stain, continue to treat until the spot is gone.
Caution: Never mix ammonia and chlorine bleach.
WALLS AND FURNITURE
Walls.
Young children often leave their creative marks in unexpected places. For felt-tip marker on hard surfaces such as furniture and plastic, rub firmly with a clean dollar bill. This often will remove the spot entirely.
Using washable crayons can prevent problems. For regular crayon on walls, spray a paper towel with WD-40 lubricant and wipe off the marks. Wash with warm water and liquid dish soap, then rinse.
To remove kids’ stickers from walls or other hard surfaces, heat the sticker with a blow dryer, pointing it at an angle to the sticker. Use a dull edge—a credit card or putty knife—to gently peel up the sticker.
If you have soot on the wall near a fireplace, don’t touch it with water. Instead, use a dry dirt-and-soot-removal sponge to erase the soot. You can find these at most hardware stores.
Furniture.
Have water rings on wood furniture? Add a little salt to a glob of regular mayonnaise, work it into the ring in a circular motion for a few minutes and leave overnight. Wipe it off in the morning. If there’s improvement, keep at it until the mark is gone.
*With any cleaning method that you are trying on a particular surface for the first time, always test an inconspicuous area to make sure there are no adverse effects that outweigh the benefits.

Michelle, you were correct in your assumption concerning the cops firing on civilians at the Empire State building in NY. They just unloaded in the direction of that guy. Innocents be damned, they were just firing madly.

I will be sure to remind my human love that I am not jealous and I do not wish to impede her developing a human companion as I am here at the leisure of my commander. Should my place be better suited elsewhere I will be sent there.
I would not wish her to suffer in any way because of my absence. So her making a human connection that she can count on is a necessity.

Doesn’t being #1 make Fox News THE “Mainstream Media” outlet? I think a lot of people watch it for the sheer entertainment value of seeing how blatantly Republican their “fair and balanced” coverage can get.
Maddow and others do something similar for Democrats on MSNBC, but really Fox is in a league of its own because so much of its hard “news” (as opposed to commentary) features the same agenda-driven shading of what is chosen to be covered and how that is presented.
It’s kind of like watching a Saturday Night Live skit, except for the potential repercussions. People whose main source of information is Fox News are (statistically, speaking) more poorly informed than those who watch no news at all. And they vote. That makes watching them a real guilty pleasure.
August 27th, 2012 at 11:10 am
I liked this post, Wish I had said it.
—————————–
Fox is laughing all the way to the bank. You guys are a dream come true to them. The bigger the lie the more excited you get… Throw in a couple of lip glossed women and a car chase or two and you’ve got your audience.
You never fact check, with a reliable source. You’re intellectually challenged but you get to vote and they have think tank designed just to figure out what motivates you and it works. Authoritarian Followers – afraid of your won shadows, needing guns and such to protect yourselves from all the scary stuff out there. Pathetic.
August 27th, 2012 at 11:16 am
t is people like you liberals that have drank to much Obama Kool-Aid. I do not expect you to change your minds. I just hope you get lost going to your polling place or just do not vote.
Or that someone figures out how to prevent you from voting or to not count your vote. It would be doing the country a great service.
August 27th, 2012 at 11:16 am
How in the world does the GOP come up with these guys who are the face of the party? Mitt Romney is plastic man and Reince Priebus look exactly like Pee Wee Herman with his mannerisms and looks. Wonder if he’s a peep show guy, too?
August 27th, 2012 at 11:18 am
Is Matthews still on the air? I didn’t think anyone watched msnbc anymore. But in a way that is a good thing, Matthews blundering comments and anger attitude only help the Republicans cause.

I’m curious. How does that work? You said you want your human lover to have a human lover but you still want her to be your’s while you are here? That sounds like what we call an open relationship. So assuming it were open, your female lover would tell her human lover about you. How would she explain you? Or are you expecting her to keep you secret?
And what would motivate her to give you so much deference when you are probably just going to go away? Why wouldn’t she just stick with her human lover? We have an expression here, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

It’s sick, it’s sad and it’s scary.
The press are giving a pass to policies an attitude more suited to the Taliban just to keep the Republican party competitive.
I hope whatever bribes they’re recieving are worth it.
Speaking as someone who has treated rape victims, these men are MONSTERS and there can be no he!! hot enough for them.
August 27th, 2012 at 12:24 pm
Mary, I don’t feel that I have a right to make any demands upon my “lover.” I have not lied to her. She knows that I am military person. Ergo, I go where and when I am sent.
Of course I want her to be with me while I am here, but I wouldn’t demand that she make a sacrifice for my wishes. She is free to make her life as best she can for herself. I will support her in whatever that choice would be.
I am not sure what you mean by an “open relationship.” But if by it you mean that we both see who we wish, I would not think that is the definition that applies. I don’t have a desire to form a relationship with another earthling. I certainly would tell her that is not something I would do even if she asked me to.
As for what she decides to tell her lovers, that would be her decision. How she explains me would be up to her. However, she knows that I would not be obligated to prove to anyone that I am an alien. Probably, I would do the contrary.
As to what would motivate her to give me anything is something that she would be privy to. If she preferred birds, then I would accept her decision.

Michelle, I live in Camden. My city is planning on eliminating its entire police department at the end of the year. To go with a new Metro Division of the Camden County police.
While others claim it is an union busting move, I see it as what no one ever says is that crime is a function of poverty and economic disparity. The police always claim to be the entity that keeps us safe and in cases like Camden where violence is rampant the police make excuses as to why.
Police do not keep anyone safe, they show up after the crime and file the paperwork. No matter how many cops there are in an area if the people there are struggling to survive there will be violence and property crime. Camden doesn’t need police it needs jobs that pay people living wages.
August 27th, 2012 at 12:37 pm
This might be a good place for Obama to test out his Security Force that will be better funded than the US Military.
August 27th, 2012 at 12:38 pm
States should have to pay for the police forces of their cities, same goes for schools….there are two kinds of cities…ones like NY and Philadelphia which are anchors – all neighboring commuters communities should contribute to the cost of running the cities….and those who have been abandoned by the suburbs….like Camden….where those least able to pay taxes remain and taxes are outrageous on the few who can afford to pay.
August 27th, 2012 at 12:39 pm
Privatize, that is music to the ears of every Republicans. Private companies means higher taxes for the little guy…see all you unbelievers…that is how they do it…tricky devils.
If they have their way we will have to pay just to pull in and out of our driveways. Imagine trying to find your check book to pay the privately owned fire department while your house turns to ash before your eyes because they only work on a cash first basis…it is possible.
August 27th, 2012 at 12:43 pm
There is nothing decent or civil in the attempts by certain Republicans to depict President Obama as somehow un-American, and to date Governor Romney has not done nearly enough to dissociate himself from the nastier, unquestionably mean-spirited personal attacks on President Obama that emanate from others in his party.
August 27th, 2012 at 12:45 pm
So when are you going to directly speak out against Obama and Biden demonizing the wealthy?
In the interest of full disclosure, I’m firmly in the poor camp.
August 27th, 2012 at 12:58 pm
Republicans can’t stand more than anything else being presented with cold hard facts to go against their “superior sense” of “how they feel”. Because as we all know, the GOP operates off of “feelings” above all.
August 27th, 2012 at 1:04 pm
I read this and said they want to demonize Obama and destroy him.
==============================================
“We are seeing one of the worst examples of a lack of honor, integrity and discipline associated with a unit that previously had a blank check with the admiration, respect and gratitude of Americans like no other. The US Navy SEALs.
Larry Bailey, a retired 27-year veteran of the Navy SEALs who founded the anti-Obama political group Special Operations Speaks is at the forefront of this disgraceful and disrespectful behavior towards the President. A proud and self proclaimed Birther, this “quiet professional” said “If there were a jury of 12 good men and women and the evidence were placed before them, there would be absolutely no question Barack Obama was not born where he said he was and is not who he says he is.”
His lack of shame went on to include insulting the President by saying “Obama was a socialist who was raised by communists”. I can’t emphasize how sad of a day it was for the Special Operations community when these comments were made.
Enter his buddy, former Navy SEAL Ben Smith, a spokesman for the OPSEC Education Fund. A group that pays for ads against the President. Some of his comments regarding a sitting American President are as follows; “You are an Imposter, You are a Muslim (Cassius Clay, Lew Alcindor, Barry Soetoro), You are the Manchurian President and may you go back to the country you were born in when you are deposed you little, little man (and take all your communist sympathizers with you),” Smith wrote. “You insult everything that was considered American. May you and your administration be a lesson to history and your posterity be lost to the rebirth of AMERICAN PATRIOTISM!”
All of this sanctioned and co-signed by the Republican party. But wait a minute? What happened to the GOP cries for “respecting the Office of The President above all else”? In classic Republican hypocritical form and their rabid attempts to win at all costs, the rules have been thrown out of the window in order to succeed.
Interestingly enough, the crux of a lot their complaints stem from not wanting to give the President his proper credit for the Bin Laden mission. They want the mission to have happened, but just want to erase it from the books when it comes to being a win for President Obama as well as America. Actually, the military and America yes, President Obama no. In a move that former Secretary Robert Gates described as ” gutsy” Gates said, “I worked for a lot of these guys. And this is one of the most courageous calls – decisions — that I think I’ve ever seen a president make,”. But somehow, the “Republican only SEAL team” wants to re-write history by writing our President out of it in an effort to emasculate his efforts to be re-elected. In their Republican selfishness, at the expense of the countless others who have the highest degree of integrity in everything they do and represent the ultimate in not being selfish as all.
Adm. Bill McRaven, head of the U.S. Special Operations command, said, “At the end of the day, make no mistake about it, it was the President of the United States that shouldered the burden of this operation, that made the hard decision,” But just like their Birther claims based on “how they feel” instead of irrefutable facts, we have these outrageous positions continue despite the truth. They have done more to show the “sickness” of hate in the last five years than what we’ve had the pleasure of NOT knowing in the former twenty.
If the Bin Laden mission would have failed. It would have been an epic failure shouldered by the White House and President Obama’s name would be featured in big bright lights scrawled across the middle of it. As was the case with the Iran hostage rescue failure. It was viewed as a failure of the President at that time.
And so now we have the exact opposite that has resulted in the highest degree of success possible. No loss of American lives and total loss of lives for the people who were the objective of the kill mission. But nothing in the way of true credit given to this President in conjunction with the credit afforded our CIA and military assets?
Luckily, there are counter forces in the military, highly respected both current and retired who have spoken out against their behavior in a tremendous way. I give them all the credit in the world. They are the finest example of consummate and consistent professionals who favor neutrality and poise instead of diving into the shallow end of the pool of GOP hate.
As written in my piece yesterday, “Hate is the Life Force of the GOP”, once again, because they are a party of doing things based on “how they feel” more than facts, and as we know, the “feeling of hate” is so strong, they couldn’t help themselves even if it causes the worst self inflicted wounds in the history of the Special Operations Military community. Feelings that decimate the ability to feel any sense of shame or embarrassment might I add. Just like when you look back on that dysfunctional relationship with your girlfriend/boyfriend and say, “I can’t believe I took that from him/her in front of everyone like that!”. Because you (thought you) “loved” that person, you were oblivious to being treated like a fool and embarrassed in public. The same goes for when you do things based “on the feeling” of “hate”. And so in absence of shame, you have comments like the ones being made by these men who have proven themselves to be the tip of the sword in every other way. As a result, I guess it further provides a psychological profile into just how strong and destructive hate can be. And how it won’t hesitate to destroy a reputation, hard work or image that you may have worked your entire life to build.
Ultimately, it serves as the best reason why we should stay away from it. And the GOP as well.”

‘Legitimate rape’ is great birth control.
So says Todd Akin, and he oughta know.
If we are raped we can rest unafraid,
‘Cause we can’t get pregnant if forcibly laid.
Our female bodies are clever that way,
We only get pregnant when we say ‘okay.’
Doctors have told him, so it must be so,
The stork only comes if we don’t say ‘No!’
Rape won’t make babies and that is a fact;
There’s no global warming; the Earth’s really flat.
We heard it on FOX News so it must be true.
Well, Mr. Akin, we say ‘F*** YOU!’

Personally, I am sick of the Main Stream Media saying that Romney has 60% of the male vote when what they mean is he has 60% of the WHITE male vote.
Ella
August 27th, 2012 at 10:41 pm
Ditto Ella. I would only add the same goes for Tom Brokaw when he pretends that he wasn’t sure that Romney had ulterior motives when he made the joke about where he was born.
I guess you just can’t get a tiny dick white boy to be honest. If what Romney said wasn’t a nod to the claim that Obama wasn’t born in this country I’m not the true daughter of my racist LSOS daddy who swears that he is voting for the mormon because he is the best for the country.
This is the same man that was foaming at the mouth against Romney when he was running against Newt. My father thinks Newt is the Second Coming.

at their very core they have absolutely no respect for women.
Not her body, not her mind, and no way has she the right to choose what happens to her.

Medicare is law… they want to change it. Roe v. Wade is law …they want to change it. The Clean Air and Water Act is law….. they want to change it. Glass- Steagall Act was law … they got rid of that.

Can we not find a program to retire these members of congress? These greedy puppets aren’t here for the american people. They are only here for GREED and profit, wake up, PLEASE!
Romney and clowns are speaking freely and they really sound stupid. Romney says public dollars are wasted on education and you wonder why romeny will cut education (teachers) and hire more admin into the education system, why teach safe sex just out law abortion ..
2012 abortion and plan parenthood is an issue. Yet white women will vote for that sexy beef cake running mate.

So Much For Respecting The Office of the President:
The kind of disrespect that we’ve seen by the GOP is beyond anything ever recorded in the history of modern day politics. In fact, the kind of disrespect we see for The Office of the President is probably beyond anything ever done in the history of our nation.
The secret service reports more death threats with this President than ever recorded by the secret service for any President since they started recording threats.
When President Obama was running for office, there were racial epithets hurled daily. Same against him during the McCain campaign. That continues even after he’s been elected.
Next we have the groups of overtly armed men at his rallies and speeches because “it’s their right to bear arms”. Suddenly, the nerve to do the outrageous becomes the norm.
The tiny dick white boy is scared white women will see more in the black man that they are willing to throw the fate of the Nation to pieces of BAPF shits like Romney to get the picture of the black man out of the eyes of the white woman.
Pathetic!
