The Democratic Convention: Thoughts Of Day Two

Good morning!

Blog Business:

I am sorry for the late post but I had to deal with some business first. I had a slight panic this morning when I went to read my blog and it was not available. When I clicked on my blog in the Bookmarks Bar, the url changed from my blog address to basically “my host server/suspended”. After a quick phone call and a very long wait, I was informed that my blog had been hacked into from the back end. Thankfully it was easily solved and precautions were put into place.

However to protect my readers and your personal information, I suggest that anyone who writes in on my blog to go in and change your master password on your computer. Use letters, numbers, and symbols for your password to give you maximum protection. You can bet I will be doing the same.

Okay, business done. Any questions, please ask.

Like many of you I am sure, you all watched the Democratic convention last night. And we all saw Clinton, Bill, blast the repubs. Okay so it was way longer than planned but I was mesmerized by his words. Were you? Simple said, his speech was exceptional. And I especially liked when he spoke exposing the lies and obstruction of the greedy ‘ol party.

It just shows us once again, that whatever needs to be said to get the black man out of office will be said by the repubs. Thank you Bill Clinton for taking the time to respond with such eloquence, and support our beloved president.

I am so sick of the repubs and their lies and excuses. Whatever they want to use they will use. Whatever logic they want to throw at us. Whatever need to be done will be attempted. It’s all about race. Everything else we hear is bull.

The republicans and the pundits keep saying the same same thing over and over: “We need a businessman in office.” Not once has these words ever been spoken before. Not once has there ever been a businessman running our country. We never elected one before. Not one. But now that there is a black man running our country, the pundits, say we need a businessman, to be president. Now people can use the excuse, “We aren’t going to not vote for him because he isn’t white, we aren’t going to vote for him because he isn’t a businessman. ” Another line of BS.

Before they would say, “We’re voting for him because he is the more “serious evangelical”. But Obama is evangelical, so now religion doesn’t matter.

Before they wanted a better military president. We want McCain. Obama has proved that he is, so now that doesn’t matter anymore.

Before, they wanted foreign experience. McCain had foreign experience. Obama didn’t have any. We aren’t going to not vote for him because he isn’t white, we aren’t going to vote for him because he has no foreign experience. But now, guess what? That doesn’t matter; they want Romney/Ryan who have no foreign experience. Now, it’s no longer important to have foreign experience.

Before, it was okay if you didn’t like the president, as long as you respected the office. Now that Obama is in office, the office doesn’t matter anymore. There is no respect. Look at all the disrespect toward Obama, the criticism. But if a white president got back into office, believe me they’d be going back to “Let’s respect the office”. The same announcers and pundits who get away with everything now will start saying “Let’s have respect for the office”, if a white man gets back into office.

Remember…Whatever they want to use they will use. Whatever logic they want to throw at us. Whatever need to be done will be attempted. It’s all about race. Everything else we hear is bull.

Mike, TM: No doubt this is but one of the many surprises they have for Obama. Thanks for telling us. I don’t look forward to learning more of their sick surprises, but knowing, so we can prepare, is much better than being left in the dark, so thank you.

Cynthia: Speaking of obstructionism and the agreement you spoke of. It was 15 white guys who made that agreement to let the country go down. They didn’t bring any white women in – just 15 white men. They plotted it and set it up and made the senate and the house follow suit – kill any plan the president has to help the economy. They did.

Why is nobody talking about an entire political party who got together and agreed to sabotage the nation  in order to win the White House back 4 years later? In other words, the plan was, for 4 years we are going to screw this country economically so bad, and they did it. But why is no one talking about it?!

Instead everyone wants to talk about Obama taking us into socialism. Wha’at? It is incredible to me that an entire party agreed to this sabotage plan, followed through with it, and continues to do everything in their power to make it further happen, until they get back into office, and no one is talking about it. I realize I am repeating myself, but it needs to be said over and over because it is just insane.

Readers: How I wish Obama would talk about this tonight. I know it would be a big move but my opinion is he needs to make it public, because there are so many who don’t know this and who need to know.  To me that would give him the presidency. If I was a voting republican and I heard that 15 white men had planned to sabotage my country, the caring, logical thing would be to immediately change and vote for Obama. I’d be crazy not to. To put in power those who care more about their own greed and self interest than the betterment of the country would be insane.

But the media knows about this and is not talking about it as if it is no big deal. But it is a big deal, it is true. If the media doesn’t have the balls to address this, I HOPE Obama does. The repubs are bringing out anything and everything to ruin our country and take back the White House. Its our time to respond and make sure that they don’t.

Here is something wonderful in prep for Obama’s speech tonight. From Maddow’s blog:

In advance of President Obama’s convention speech tonight, his re-election campaign unveiled a new video this morning called “Promises Kept.” It features promises from his speech four years ago, highlighting Obama’s follow-through.

I love it.

Peace & Love…blog me.

Top Three Ways to Lose Weight

Lots of people go on diets, but only a fraction of them are successful.

Why is it that some dieters meet their goals while others don’t shed any pounds—or shed them and then gain them back almost immediately?

Researchers recently analyzed dieters over the course of one year—and then they looked at who lost the most weight and which strategies those people had in common.
It turned out that the people who whittled their waistlines most shared three particular tactics.
And, I must say, they’re very simple!

    DIETING DOS & DON’TS

    The three tricks were…
    1. Keep a food journal.
    2. Don’t skip meals.
    3. Avoid eating out.

Curious to know why these three methods worked best, I called the study’s senior author, Anne McTiernan, MD, PhD, a researcher at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and a research professor at the University of Washington Schools of Public Health and Medicine, both in Seattle.

First, she explained how the diet in the study worked. Participants (who were all overweight) were instructed to eat between 1,200 and 2,000 calories a day.

They were given a “food journal” in which they were told to record their daily eating habits, and they were also asked at the end of the study to fill out a 120-item questionnaire about how well they stuck to their diet.

After analyzing the food journals, the questionnaires and how much weight each person lost, the researchers discovered the three shared strategies of the most successful dieters.
Let’s learn more about each one…

A FOOD JOURNAL GIVES YOU AN EDGE

Dieters who used the food journals lost, on average, six pounds more than those who did not. Why does keeping a journal help? Dr. McTiernan said, “It’s about accountability—knowing exactly how much you’re eating.”

In other words, it’s harder to fool yourself into thinking that you’re making healthy choices when you have to write it all down.

To keep an effective food journal, Dr. McTiernan said to record everything you eat and the calorie content of the foods. That includes side dishes, toppings and second helpings! It includes eating out, too.

If you don’t know the calorie content of a dish, look it up online. (Many restaurants post nutritional information on their Web sites or you can use http://www.CalorieKing.com).

Whether you use a notebook or a smartphone app (such as Lose It! by FitNow), make sure that you record your food either during the meal or immediately after, so you don’t forget.

By looking at the journal at the end of the day, you’ll know whether you’re under or over your daily calorie limit. (Your daily calorie limit depends on your age, height, weight and gender and how much weight you want to lose—to get a ballpark idea, click here, and for an exact amount, talk to your doctor.)

    DON’T SKIP MEALS

It’s tempting to skip a meal now and then, but ironically, the practice often leads to weight gain, not weight loss. The reason, Dr. McTiernan said, is that skipping a meal may make you so hungry that you’ll overeat during your next meal. In the study, women who didn’t skip meals lost, on average, about eight more pounds than women who did.

    THE DANGERS OF DINING OUT

Nearly everyone eats out now and then, but the research showed that the less you do it, the easier it is to lose weight. For example, participants who ate out for lunch less often than once a week lost, on average, five more pounds than those who ate out for lunch at least once a week.

Dr. McTiernan said the figures show that it’s much easier for dieters to go off track at a restaurant, where high-calorie dishes may be irresistible.

It’s also harder to know how those dishes are cooked, so unless the restaurant posts the calories on the menu or online, it’s more difficult to know exactly how caloric the meal is.

Plus, portions are usually much larger at a restaurant than what you’d serve yourself at home. So eat under your own roof—or eat food you’ve brought from home—except on special occasions!

Source: Anne McTiernan, MD, PhD, researcher at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, Washington. Her study was published in Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

We who work for Anonz feel that since “Health Info” hasn’t felt the need for full disclosure we should do it for them.

The are wholly owned by Right leaning companies. That does not mean that their health advice is bogus. I does mean that if their is a question of taking the side of the Pharmacy Industry over facts that could clause a profit loss, PROFIT will prevail.

And they are anti- ACA or as they call it Obamacare.

  3. Jacob Says:

Michelle, you have named the crime of treason by the republicans which was to obstruct the President on every attempt to right the economy.

I wish somebody during the DNC Convention will really push on this obstruction. Call out Rep Ryan for his inauguration night meeting with 10 other influential House Reps to plot to obstruct and defeat the President mere hours after he was swore in.

This is the case that needs to be made in order to let the people of this great country know the depths some people will sink to in order to further their personal gains.

    Jacob

  4. Lilli Says:

I came across this old article because I was wondering if this was a historic first – are there any historians out there?

That an opposing political party would sacrifice jobs for millions of Americans, and sabotage economic recovery from a deep recession, all to discredit a sitting president? It is nauseating.

Why aren’t we talking about this more? It makes me sick to watch all these hypocrites talking about how Obama has “failed” when no president has ever had to deal with this depth of hatred.

I think it’s racism at its root.

Coulter is part of the cadre of conservative talkers who are, quite simply, the worst people in the world.

  19. LLoyd Says:

America is one of the few industrialized world places where a judge can obtain the office, by either getting election or appointed without any credentials or training as a justice at all.

In Europe, the judges are required to graduate from a judgeship school. They are required to be politically unaffiliated, and appointments are done by a commission, not by a governor or a president. Our justice system is really ameturish and reeks with corruption.

It is ripe for corruption and the “Citizen’s United” decision by STARK has set a course in that direction that has already born fruit fruit for the Insurance Industry and other corporations in six states.

Decisions that used to favor the citizen now abruptly have changed to favor the corporations that donated to the judge.

There seems to be no embarrassment in the incredulousness of the verdict. They just look at the individual and decide in favor of the corporate interest that paid for them.
