Good morning!

With so much going on all the time it is a challenge to decide what to blog about because there is so much that needs to be said ever day. I got so hooked into “love and the present moment” yesterday, which hey, is not a bad place to be, that I didn’t even acknowledge nor even say “Happy 40th to Roe v Wade,” a very important topic for us girls.

Unfortunately, not all of us girls feel the same same about having control of our bodies because there were many supporters out there routing for Romney this past election. Ugh – Can you imagine if that man was the man?

Thankfully there were many women with a head out there that used the brain inside it. To give gratitude for Roe v Wade and to all, especially the women who prevented Romney from becoming the man, this one’s for you – Thanks Rachel.

Rachel Maddow Celebrates Roe v. Wade On Its 40th Anniversary (VIDEO)

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Rachel Maddow honored the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade on her Tuesday night show.

The MSNBC host sent two of her producers to women’s clinics in four different cities to interview the only doctors in various areas who were performing abortions. She wanted to know why these doctors, despite the threats from anti-abortion activists and pressure from anti-abortion law makers, continued performing abortions.

Doctors described how the number one killer of women in their child-bearing years used to be complications from abortions. That’s no longer the case since Roe v. Wade passed forty years ago.

“The legacy of Roe is not that there became a country named America in which there was abortion and there hadn’t been abortion before. The legacy of Roe is that women very very very rarely die from abortion in this country anymore, and they used to die from it a lot,” Maddow said.

Maddow also criticized anti-abortion lawmakers for what she called successfully eroding the legacy of Roe v. Wade by limiting access to abortions at the state level. According to NBC News, “Eight states now require women seeking abortion to have ultrasounds, after Virginia lawmakers passed a measure in 2012. Three states also enacted laws that require abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a local hospital, which can deny them for a variety of reasons.”

******

Readers: Living in California it is hard to imagine residing in one of those 4 states that have only one abortion clinic, and the extreme hardship that a woman has to endure living in those states, when going to get an abortion. It is amazing that although we have the protection of Roe v Wade, we also have these states where it is so challenging and stressful to get an abortion, you might as well say that that abortion is illegal.

I HOPE that you all watched this video because it is so distressing that women have to endure going through such hardships to make a decision about their bodies which is not an easy decision to make. And that hypocrites that preach the sanctity of life, are so threatening in these states that doctors and those that want to help, work in fear of threat to their lives, to open up more of these abortion clinics to help women.

Imagine the entire country like this. This is something that could happen if republicans had it there way. We women will have to continue to fight to keep what is our rights so that our rights are not taken away again. Are you with me?

Blog me.

Zen Lill: Thanks for the call! I am sorry we haven’t connected yet. I am preparing for a workshop tomorrow so I will work on taking a moment to give you a call today. Thanks for posting Dr. Mercola. It has been awhile since I visited his site. This write was a good one. Happy to hear you are healthy and doing well.

Howie: Right on. Nor I. I cannot remember if I have ever even had one. And I don’t get sick either. I HOPE all is well with you.

Social Butterfly: I haven’t seen you here in awhile. Are you still reading? How are you?  I HOPE all is good with you too.

Peace out.

Man are these Republicans becoming an enemy of the people. I am hoping that they will eventually fade away, as nobody but a fool or a theif would vote one into office. I know wishful thinking, but everything they propose is bad for Americans. Only the very wealthy elite benefit from Republican idealogy.

Four states, four very large states have only one abortion clinic. Essentially making it such a hardship for women seeking abortion that the trip alone may make it impossible for many to access these lone and far away abortion clinics.

I don’t know what they are trying to prove, but I would guess that none of these Republicans give two shits about any aborted fetuses, or about anyone else other than themselves, and those who will put money in their pockets. The nerve of these knuckleheads.

There is not much I could add to what Rachel Maddow had to say other than all women have my full support when it comes to women’s rights.

  2. Zen Lill Says:

Oh boy, wasn’t going to mention it, though you brought it up, Al, (hi : ) but the FB pages are loaded with Repug women, argh, dissing Obama and healthcare, etc…it’s like watching live action ‘Fight Club’ only the first rule of fight club is you don’t talk about fight club, oh well. I refrain from engaging with them, there’s no point. They’re so deep in hypnosis of the GOP that there’s no way out for em’ not really…

Hi Misch, whenever, I am around…

    Luv, Zen Lill

  3. HOWIE Says:

    Michelle:

The world is a strange place and people are just plain nuts as far as a species on this planet.

Many good people fought for the right to end a pregnancy by abortion. It came to a head 40 years ago with Roe vs. Wade in which abortion became legal in the United States.

Can you imagine that it was ever illegal? Why should Women have to fight for the right to end a pregnancy? It is as if they are aborting the baby Jesus himself. A fetus is a fetus and a child-bearing Woman is alive and living on this planet in the prime of her life. What gives this unborn fetus more importance than a Woman who was already born 20 or 30 or more years earlier?. Like Rachel Maddow said: “The legacy of Roe is that women very rarely die from abortion in this country anymore, and they used to die from it a lot.”

There are many circumstances in which a Woman could want to have an abortion. Being impregnated by Rape, Incest, or having a life-threatening illness which would kill the Mother.

Fanatics will go so far as to murder Doctors or Family Planning workers to try to accomplish some holy crusade by committing murder which is the reason they are against abortion in the first place — they consider it murder.

The earth is overpopulated to begin with. We haven’t the natural resources to sustain a population of 6 to 7 Billion souls. Why do lawmakers want to bring more babies into the world? — as if it were a mission from God himself. They have made it more and more difficult to get an abortion already and would love to reverse the decision of Roe v Wade.

No Woman should have to fight for the right to keep living if there is something inside them they wish to remove for whatever reason — be it cancer or an unwanted fetus. It is their right as a human to have this procedure done.

Try not to allow lawmakers to squelch the ability for Women to have abortions in this country.

    HOWIE

Thanks Howie for showing men the way.

  5. HOWIE Says:

    To My Israeli Friends:

Congratulations to the winner of your election, Bibi Netanyahu.

I would have voted for him if I were an Israeli citizen. He is a good leader of the Nation of Israel.

    Hi Michelle (and everyone).

Somebody told me I should check your blog today. How sweet you gave me a shout out. It warms my heart to know you are thinking of me! <3

I do still read your blog but I have to admit I've been super busy and don't get to visit quite as regularly as I used to. Hopefully things will slow down a bit in a few more weeks and I can return to a more leisurely lifestyle and visiting your wonderful blog more often. I'm sure I've been missing good stuff!

I hope 2013 has been treating you well, Michelle. Have you gotten settled? We're overdue to hit the town and make some fun happen! Call me soon and let's set something up. xoxo

  7. Janet Says:

Michelle, my husband is one of those white “Men” who loves his gun. Today we were watching a commercial where a man came on and said “I have low testosterone, there I said it.”

My husband smiled and looked at me and said, “I’m going to look into that.”

I wanted to say “I’d love to hear you say, I’ve got a tiny dick, there I’ve said it.”

Damn, does he know that his wife is just dying to fuck a tiny dick with extra testosterone. Men, they are truly clueless.

  8. Ira Says:

Thanks Howie, I voted for him.

  9. JH Says:

Howie, BiBi won but he didn’t get the majority he needed to control the government. Maybe now he will be forced to work with the Palestinians.
