No Sign Of Sisterhood Here
Posted by Michelle Moquin on July 2nd, 2014
Good morning!
In light of the recent SCOTUS ruling with Hobby Lobby, here’s a clip From MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell.
*****
Readers: The FOX guy is a total LSOS idiot. But what really caught my attention most, what was most revealing to me, was the lack of support amongst the four FOX women sitting there who just giggled and said absolutely NOTHING, as he carried on about Beyonce. They knew none of what he said was true about Beyonce and said nothing.
O’Donnell explains how easy it is to disprove this guy and goes into depth of how wrong he is but he only briefly mentions how the women don’t challenge what is being said about Beyonce…he doesn’t go into any real depth of what it really means. Perhaps because he’s not a woman he doesn’t realize what their silence is truly saying to us women.
I get it. I totally see it. No sign of sisterhood here.
These four FOX women are the perfect example and the real reason why women are where they are in this country, and in the political arena. They sit their lockstep behind this FOX guy who isn’t even a political reporter – he’s basically getting his 15 minutes of political analysis fame, along with no doubt a hard-on from “impressing” these four, while making a complete idiot out of himself.
Which makes this even worse that these four are just sitting there with their pasted smiles and locked lips, saying nothing to this obvious idiot of a man. If we can’t get women to speak up and challenge this stupid guy about something that is so easy to disprove, so obviously bunk, what chance are we going to get them to challenge any man and speak up about something important that can truly affect our future?
In this case, “locked lips will sink ships.” Because if we women don’t start using our smarts and our voices, and woman up, we are going to sink to levels that we never thought we would see again. And yes, we have no one to blame but women such as these…and ourselves if we too act like them.
Ladies: We need to speak up and stick up for our sisters, no matter what race or age.

one quick comment about yesterday’s post and why it’s great to be living in California.
—
Contraception coverage will still be available to California employees of Hobby Lobby and other private family-owned businesses who object on religious grounds – despite Monday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision.
The ruling appears to have left intact a 15-year-old California law called the California Women’s Contraceptive Equity Act, signed by Governor Gray Davis in 1999.
“It ensures that insurance companies must provide coverage for a variety of FDA-approved contraception,” says Planned Parenthood chief counsel Beth Parker.
She says the California law survives the U.S. Supreme Court ruling, and it covers employees, spouses and dependents – even teenage daughters – with exemptions only for self-insured and non-profit religious employers.
What it doesn’t cover are co-pays. “So as a result, even though women can get health care coverage of contraception in California, they now may have to co-pay for it,” Parker says.
A bill at the state Capitol would require co-pays to be covered as well. It passed the Senate earlier this year and is now in the Assembly.
The Alliance Defending Freedom, one of the plaintiffs’ legal groups, declined comment until it can review the Supreme Court ruling’s effect on the California law.
——
I didn’t think Gray Davis was so great a governor at the time, but I appreciate his taking action on this issue.

Overwhelming responses to yesterdays post and good, that company is pathetic and now everyone knows it so do not shop there! ever. It won’t change their stupid and hypocritical thought processes but it will hit em’ where it hurts, tell your friends, too.
This idiot on the FOXS news was thinking he was hip n cool referring to a 6 year old Bey song, he can’t hold a candle to Bey (obviously never listened to any lyrics from her songs either) but wtf was up with the giggling instead of calling him out, are they that out of touch also?!
USA IWG (too bad I’m already a girlZ though let it be known I am ready for xtra duty anytime : ) just sayin’ commander

White women are the reason the country is so fucked up. They allow white men to dictate to all women disparagingly. They are the reason that until the demographics change, nothing will really change.
This pathetic species elect white men to office and then beg them to treat them as equals. Remember the ERA debacle? It was black women that started the push for equality. They saw their men gaining because of the blacks (men and women) struggle to get white men to share the opportunities this country has.
They realized that they would benefit disproportionately in whatever was won in the struggle because white women had been content to be chattel even after they got the vote.
Black women were always wiling to make their men’s struggle for equality theirs. They expected their men to side with them when the struggle became one to gain women theirs.
Shirley Chisholm showed white women the direction. When we got the message, we listened to white men who told us we were better because of the color of our skin. Hence we abandoned our sisters for the pat on the head of our men.
The result is what we have today, fractured women camaraderie. White women have always been easy to divide and conquer by our men. Once they divided us from the source of our courage, determined black women, the Cause (Equality for women) was lost.
That video is a composite of what happens in America by white women from white men every second of every day for all women because of the weak, inane stupidity of most white women.

…this kind of shit is the same reason the GOP is going to lose again in 2016. I guess contraception, healthcare and equal pay are things that women don’t deserve? wtf.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:19 am
How did a room full of women not correct that misogynistic comment? Why should any woman depend on a man? Why can’t she be self sufficient? What is wrong with a woman who wants to be independant and treated equally with men?
Seriously. Someone explain why that’s unreasonable.

Republicans love alienating voting blocs.

The Beyonce voter is the typical know nothing who knows more about the tattoos on a celebrity than they do about what the government is doing or the bills being proposed.

Typical faux journalist on the News Corp payroll — short on insight, long on incite.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:24 am
I wish I could find the rest of the clip, I am very interested to what they had to say.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:24 am
The life of Julia website was an Obama campaign creation. The concept that a demographic wants a paternalistic government to care over them through their entire life is not just a figment of right wing imagination.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:25 am
Marissa#10, I was seriously thinking the exact same thing. I would hope that every single one of those women are not so dense that they couldn’t see that as incredibly insulting.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:26 am
How is insulting them going to get them vote GOP? This guy doesn’t know how wooing voters actually works.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:26 am
Thank god I can get married someday and my husband will fix all my problems! I don’t know what the poor lesbians will do….
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:27 am
Lauren#12, I’m not so certain. These kinds of comments are unfortunately all over the FOX News Network.

‘Single ladies depend on government not their husbands’ and you people wonder why I delight in killing the bastards.
White men are a species mother nature intended to die of natural causes. The Sun was designed to kill them off. Unfortunately, we have to do what god fucked up. One bastard at a time.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:34 am
* [new] ‘single ladies’ Id say what I think she really (12+ / 0-)
means by that but the nanny police will get me.

Whitney#17, don’t blame white men for accepting the ignorance of white women. Why shouldn’t we benefit from their need to be lead? As for killing us off, bring it on bitch.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:37 am
Yes, because “hey sluts, keep your legs closed or suffer the consequences” is such a persuasive voting-winning message.
I’m starting to get a pretty good Todd Akin/Richard Mourdock feeling about the upcoming Senate election. These people really just cannot help themselves.
Ed FitzGerald for governor Of Ohio. Women’s lives depend on it. http://www.edfitzgeraldforohio.com/

Obviously he doesn’t listen to Beyoncé because the shoes on my feet, I bought’em; the clothes I’m wearin’, I bought’em; the rocks I’m rockin’, I bought’em; ’cause I depend on me. And if I wanted the watch he’s wearin’, I’d buy it. I depend on me.
And now I have to listen to Beyoncé on my way home from work…
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:38 am
keep this up GOP base if you want to beat Hillary it’s working lol!
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:39 am
Male fox host: “DAMMIT, I’ve been telling you moronic broads there is no war on women.
When will these sluts figure it out?”
Female panelist: “Why does Obama continue to keep black women down? Find out tomorrow…”
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:39 am
I’ll be damned if all my hard earned money goes to all these lazy, scumbag single women! Us men work hard and you women clean the house and cook dinner while we smoke cigarettes and get drunk off of scotch.
That’s just how it is, always been. So he’s right – if you’re not cooking and cleaning for a man, you’re just sucking up all of the taxpayer’s money and spending your welfare checks on match.com memberships and dollar store make-up. I am not paying for it! GET A MAN !!! THIS IS THE 1950s!
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:41 am
So women don’t get paychecks? “They depend on government because they’re not depending on their husbands.”
Either they depend on government – OR they depend on husbands???
Thanks Democrats! My Obamacare is permanent coverage no one can take away – and saving $3,000 is nice too.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:41 am
John#24, Which is pretty much their mindset. NO MORE “MADMEN” for them! Wait; let them continue to watch it, while we all actually VOTE IN REALITY!

I don’t need a husband to buy myself stickers at hillarybeyonce2016.com
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:44 am
What a fucked up blog you have Michelle! It’s no more than propaganda (and really stupid propaganda) for the low to no information crowd. Plus I’m not sure the you know the difference either.
If you can’t name both your Senators, your Governor and you Representative in Congress (and I’m sure 99.99% of your blog can’t), do us all a favor and stay home in November.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:44 am
Typical of Fox News (and I use the term News very loosely). As long as try are broadcasting the GOP doesn’t stand a chance of winning anything.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:45 am
I consider myself to be relatively conservative, and this made me want to vomit. Fox often has that effect on me.
July 3rd, 2014 at 7:49 am
Greg#28, and just who would the “us” be. White men no doubt. And of course that lot is very educated. The fact that you could make that statement about those that comment on this blog shows why the idiot could make the statement he did on fox.
White men for the most part are ignorant bigots who can be lead by crooked politicians and the devious !% by tell the morons they are better because of the color of their skin. That in light of the fact that white men are getting their asses kicked in every instance in which they have not allowed the contribution of OTWs and white women to assist them in their endeavors.
Truly ignorance.
