Palination
Posted by Michelle Moquin on January 9th, 2009
I had a few minutes to watch the news last night for the first time this week. I have been in training for a new job (Did I mention that?) and the hours have left me a busy girl with little time for fun. Anyway while eating a delicious dinner made by Doug, I was able to relax (?) well…at least catch up on the happenings in politics.
Did I say catch up on the happenings in politics? Let me rephrase that…Catch up on the gossip in politics…the drama, because that is what it felt like. I’ve always like MSNBC and the Keith Olbermann show but last night I think their on-the-scene reporters decided to take a day off. Keith kept repeating the same information over and over. Meaning, each lead up to his topic gave so much information that by the time it came to him reporting it, there wasn’t much more to report. AND…it was all about Sarah Palin.
I still can’t believe that she is in the media as much as she is. You have to hand it to her though, the things that come out of her mouth are not quite news worthy because guess what? She still can drop my jaw. Yes, she still has the power to dumbfound me with her quirky looks and even more so, her stupid remarks.
Just who is her audience? Well…speaking of stupid…we have all discovered lately just how stupid the average American can be. Or at least I have. So…Last night I watched Palin make a comment to her audience: The stupid Americans out there. It seems that Palin seems to think that if she had been a part of the Democratic party running for office she would’ve gone much further.
Does this woman ever think before she speaks or is she just counting on her audience to not think? I mean how can one say that she can just ‘switch’ parties when never before have we had such a strong distinction between the parties. When almost everything Obama stood for and wants to accomplish is the exact opposite of the past 8 years, not to mention McCain’s same same goals….you know..the man she was running beside? Does she really think that her values and all that she stood and fought for would’ve been accepted by the Democrats? I mean what is going on in that little mind of hers? She says this so matter of factly like she’s switching sides on the baseball team.
Oh Sarah….you once and for all need to be palienated from politics – better yet…go start a talk show and hone your audience -they are certainly out there just drooling for your kind of speak. You can call it ‘Palination’…cause we know you are dying to be the dictator of your own small country.

RUNNER’S “HIGH” STRENGTHENS HEART
It’s well-known that regular exercise promotes cardiovascular health, not to mention health overall. Not only does it convey significant physical benefits — greater strength, flexibility and stamina — a good workout also releases natural feel-good chemicals that are associated with the sensation described as a runner’s high. Now researchers have connected the dots, discovering the mechanism by which this good feeling helps protect against heart attacks.
BORN TO RUN
During exercise, the body releases chemicals that are natural morphine-like substances called opioids, notes Eric W. Dickson, MD, associate professor and head of the department of emergency medicine at the University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine. Working with rats in a laboratory setting, he and his colleagues set out to determine the relationship between exercise, opioid release and cardiovascular protection. All rats had freedom to move around, but those that ran on treadmills experienced less heart damage from heart attacks than those that didn’t. The running group was on the treadmill for 15 to 25 minutes a day for five days. However, when some of the exercising rats were injected with the chemical naltrexone, which blocks opioid receptors, those that ran sustained heart attacks of the same magnitude as the rats that did not. This suggests that the release of opioids during exercise is a direct contributor to its cardiovascular benefits (at least in rats).
AIM FOR A MILD BURN
Although this particular study focused on running, any regular aerobic exercise is sure to give your heart a healthy boost. Choose activities you enjoy — whether bicycling, tennis or salsa dancing — so you’ll be more apt to stick with it. Dr. Dickson says that your goal should be to feel a “mild burn” in the muscle group you are working. It is this mild burn that stimulates the endogenous opioid release that appears to help prevent heart attacks and strokes.
Additionally, he emphasizes that virtually everyone can benefit from some level of exercise. Even in heart failure patients who can barely walk, Dr. Dickson prescribes gentle, supervised workouts that include two-pound dumbbell curls and over-the-head (military) presses — once again encouraging them to push till they feel that mild burn. Of course, before starting any new exercise program, always consult your doctor to determine the regimen that most safely and effectively meets your individual needs.

Oh dear God, must we see more of her? wasn’t she embarrassing enough the first time around?? Oh, OK, give her a show, doesn’t matter, I have little time for ‘prime time’ talk TV shows anyway, I record what I want and if I get to watch it I consider myself lucky. This woman reflects NOTHING about me as a female/US woman, her weird inarticulate homey style might appeal to some numbnut women but I’m not running with that crowd, ever…
Good luck with your new gig, Mischa : )

Zen Lill
A bit formal for a guy who is smitten by the ink that drips form the lady’s pen. I wanted to start off with genuine thanks for your thoughts. I am always open to your opinions because I know that they come form a sound head and I hope a more than just a little concerned heart.
I am extending my thanks to Madaline and her commander Michelle. If I may, Madaline, I love your outfits, you really know how to dress for conflict.
Michelle, I understand the logic.
If I may return to my Sweet Lilly for a moment, I would like to say I am looking forward to returning to the country we love and share. I still have some unfinished business here. It has been sidelined by those in our government who wish to insure they do not face incarceration in Obama’s coming investigation of how the last eight years went.
Later today after I have had some time with my men, I will reveal some interesting details about that regime. I am personally looking forward to the confrontation. Let’s hope a more honest frontal attack will be forthcoming.
We were ambushed by a rogue American black ops team. They were fully supported by satellite technology and under specific orders to take no prisoners. When I tell my story, I will not take any either.

Adam & AH
Thanks for the heads up. Couldn’t agree more. Watch me spin it. And hell yes, I will keep my piece. Why not, it is a drop in the bucket(miniscule) compared to what they are leaving office with.
Anonz
PS. Just saw your entry Sweetness. – Au Contraire! You do have something common with Sarah. You, too, have the ability to get others to follow you. The difference being you have somewhere to lead them.
I can think of a particular place or two, or three, I’d like to follow you. It is a astonishing treat imaging being able to have an interesting conversation before and after having the carnal desires sated.
I can find a bit of symphony for the mentally intimidated men that read you, and wonder if they could fake it long enough to make it to ecstasy. Oh what we enraptured will do to hold you for even a brief moment in our arms?
Dazzle on my Sweet, let the dream continue.

I am still trying to get in to write about your last topic. Who controls who gets in?

…and I was just going to post my blog and go to bed, glad I stopped by here for a peek : )
Anonz, sweet pea, you’re welcome, I’m pretty intuitive and that day that I asked Maddie to check in on you I woke up and just felt – not right – and so I’m very glad to hear from you now. Yes, I’m pleased you recognize my sound mind and of course I care what happens to you out there, is there any doubt about that?
Look forward to the update about what happened if you care to share. If you change your mind about having Maddie’s protection I’m sure she would oblige and wear a combat ready outfit (was she nude again?!) – that’s my wish but your choice.
Thanks for the palin compliment, that was sweet and I appreciate the sentiment.
You tell me when your returning and I’m sure our conversations and anything else will be most noteworthy : )
Aaah, re: the men who read my blog, it’s mind-boggling, and has left a few reeling. My blog, I found out yesterday, has provided fodder for chatter at several South bay holiday parties this season, I did not attend any – been underground – or so I thought. Hmmm, and I’m thinking I must know ‘Lurker’ he commented on my ass, hahaha
On that note, babe, I lifted a poem from this blog bc I loved it, apparently it was on the side of a meteorite (?!) and it’s dedicated to you from me, you’ll be digging pen and ink I think. I’m telling you here, did not write Anonz there, you still carry a bit of notoriety with a few pals and I’m in evasive answers mode ; )
I’ll also say this: I’m relieved you’re alive and well and I truly hope you stay that way, sweet pea, please watch your back, closely…
Oh and Nadia, wherever you are, Azir is back and it looks like he is responding to a very old comment of yours, whatever, check it out under yesterday’s entry if you like…
Goodnight and pleasant dreams, Zen Lill
