You Haven’t Seen Nothing Yet

Good Morning.
From Raw Story:
Jan Brewer calls for fewer female candidates: ‘This woman thing has gotten way out of control’
Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) argued on Sunday that too much emphasis has been placed on electing female candidates.
During a discussion on CNN about presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s possible running mates, host Jake Tapper asked Brewer if she would be interested in the job.
“Who made up that list? They didn’t put me on there,” Brewer complained. “Of course, I would be — I would be willing to serve in any capacity that I could be of help with Donald on.”
“Do you think he needs to pick a woman?” Tapper wondered. “Given how bad his numbers are with women.”
“I don’t necessarily think you need to pick a woman,” Brewer insisted. “You know, this woman thing has gotten way out of control I believe.
“And I think it’s been driven by the left,” she remarked. “Because they think that it’s going to bring them over the end. But I think people, when they sit down to vote, they vote for the very best candidate. They want somebody that’s going to represent them.”
*****
Readers: “This woman thing has gotten way out of control…” “….They vote for the very best candidate – they want somebody who is going to represent them.” Hell, all I want to say is this man thing has gotten way out of control. Right? It’s time for a woman to show what she can do.
Actually, no, I have more to say. In my opinion she’s basically saying a man is going to represent a woman better than a woman. Hell no. In all the years of men running this country I cannot agree. I can only run with Brewer’s statement if the woman representing women is Brewer herself (And a few others that I shall not name – you know the women I’m referring to) because no doubt, she clearly thinks women have their place (In the kitchen, and barefoot and pregnant to name a few), and it isn’t beside a man and certainly not in front of him calling the shots on women’s concerns, issues, and God forbid, their bodies. We’ll leave that up to men to make those decisions.
No thank you, Brewer. Been there done that. It’s a woman’s turn to take a stab at turning this country around. Brewer, if you think this woman thing has gotten way out of control, you haven’t seen nothing yet. C’mon girls let’s get out of control, and show her and all the other women out there who feel like Brewer, and take our rightful place. The time is now.

Most american white women don’t have a clue or much self respect. I know because my female friends are both white and non white. I’m a white female, but most of my friends are either asian or latina. I don’t have any black female friends.
I can say that my white females friends for the most part support whomever their males counterparts support.

I agree with Brewer. There should be less women in government, one less, her.

I can’t believe the ugly words that come out of Brewer’s mouth.

Can someone please post that video when Brewer was running for re-election and she was asked a question and sat there for 2 or 3 minutes unable to utter a word, giggling at her own rambling . the woman is a mindless, scatterbrain.

I loved this when I read it.
all Republican women are afflicted with the “Stockholm Syndrome” who identify with their patriarchal oppressors. they become enablers of their own oppression, pathetic.

Republican women like Jan Brewer think the men they support in their party will make them exempt from the restrictions they put on women.
When it turns out those restrictions they apply to other women apply to them as well they cry foul, just like Serena Joy in “The Handmaid’s Tale.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Handmaid's_Tale
————————————–
Plot summary
The Handmaid’s Tale is set in the Republic of Gilead, a theocratic military dictatorship formed within the borders of what was formerly the United States of America.
Beginning with a staged terrorist attack (blamed on Islamic extremists) that kills the President and most of Congress, a movement calling itself the “Sons of Jacob” launches a revolution and suspends the United States Constitution under the pretext of restoring order. They are quickly able to take away all of women’s rights, largely attributed to financial records being stored electronically and labelled by gender. The new regime, the Republic of Gilead, moves quickly to consolidate its power and reorganize society along a new militarized, hierarchical, compulsorily Christian regime of Old Testament-inspired social and religious fanaticism among its newly created social classes. In this society, almost all women are forbidden to read.
The story is presented from the point of view of a woman called Offred (literally Of-Fred). The character is one of a class of women kept as concubines (“handmaids”) for reproductive purposes by the ruling class in an era of declining births due to sterility from pollution and sexually transmitted diseases. The book is told in the first person by Offred, who describes her life during her third assignment as a handmaid, in this case to Fred (referred to as “The Commander”). Interspersed in flashbacks are portions of her life from before and during the beginning of the revolution, when she finds she has lost all autonomy to her husband, through her failed attempt to escape with her husband and daughter to Canada, to her indoctrination into life as a handmaid. Offred describes the structure of Gilead’s society, including the several different classes of women and their circumscribed lives in the new theocracy.
The Commander is a high-ranking official in Gilead. Although he is supposed to have contact with Offred only during “the ceremony,” a ritual of sexual intercourse intended to result in conception and at which his wife is present, he begins an illegal and ambiguous relationship with her. He offers her hidden or contraband products, such as old fashion magazines and cosmetics, takes her to a secret brothel run by the government, and furtively meets with her in his study, where he allows her to read, an activity otherwise prohibited for women. The Commander’s wife, Serena Joy, also has secret interactions with Offred, arranging for her secretly to have sex with Nick, Serena’s driver, in an effort to get Offred pregnant. In exchange for Offred’s cooperation, Serena Joy gives her news of her daughter, whom Offred has not seen since she and her family were captured trying to escape Gilead.
After Offred’s initial meeting with Nick, they begin to rendezvous more frequently. Offred discovers she enjoys sex with Nick, despite her indoctrination and her memories of her husband. She shares potentially dangerous information about her past with him. Through another handmaid, Ofglen, Offred learns of the Mayday resistance, an underground network working to overthrow Gilead. Shortly after Ofglen’s disappearance (later discovered to be a suicide), the Commander’s wife finds evidence of the relationship between Offred and the Commander. Offred contemplates suicide. As the novel concludes, she is being taken away by the secret police, the Eyes of God, known informally as “the Eyes”, under orders from Nick. Before she is put in the large black van, Nick tells her that the men are part of the Mayday resistance and that Offred must trust him. Offred does not know if Nick is a member of the Mayday resistance or a government agent posing as one, and she does not know if going with the men will result in her escape or her capture. She enters the van with her future uncertain.
The novel concludes with a metafictional epilogue that explains that the events of the novel occurred shortly after the beginning of what is called “the Gilead Period”. The epilogue is “a partial transcript of the proceedings of the Twelfth Symposium on Gileadean Studies” written in 2195. According to the symposium’s “keynote speaker” Professor Pieixoto, he and colleague, Professor Knotly Wade, discovered Offred’s story recorded onto cassette tapes. They transcribed the tapes, calling them collectively “the handmaid’s tale”. Through the tone and actions of the professionals in this final section of the book, the world of academia is highlighted and critiqued.[5] The epilogue implies that, following the collapse of the theocratic Republic of Gilead, a more equal society, though not the United States as it previously had existed, re-emerged with a restoration of full rights for women and freedom of religion.
==================================
Women in America should be careful about supporting men who claim to be speaking on behalf of god. Those men come from the same cloth of the men in our recent past who used religion to regulate women to be basically a womb with legs.

So now the pedophiles are using their expensive law firms to attempt to scare their victims into not talking. I guess the “they are attacking the Church” didn’t work so well.

The Archdiocese of Agana announced Friday it is working with a prominent U.S. law firm and an independent investigator to look into recent allegations made against Archbishop Anthony Apuron.
In a media release, the church responded to accusations made in recent days by a local deacon.
Deacon Steve Martinez, the former coordinator of a local church group charged with reviewing sexual abuse allegations involving clergy, said at a press conference Wednesday that Apuron purposely kept the archdiocese’s sexual abuse policy weak to protect himself.
On Friday, the church said that this allegation is a “calumny of such magnitude that the only avenue, which we are following, is recourse to the civil and canonical legal processes to address these intentional lies.”

I like your taste. I read it back in the 90′s. If more women read it they would be very careful how far they allow men to go with this religious shit.
Your reflection on republican expecting to be exempt from the abuse the republican party heaps upon women well put. A prime example is the clamor Fox made when Trump dumped upon Megan Kelly. She was attacked the same way that party with her assistance and support have attacked democratic female candidates.
When it came her turn she was “appalled” and expected women to rally around her. What a hypocrite. Then those same republican men made her shut up and interview Trump with soft ball questions designed to promote his candidacy.
Of course now she is back supporting the degradation of women by Trump. I suppose she is just hopping he doesn’t turn his venom upon her again.
This is the plight of republican women. They live in fear that they will say or do something that will cause the men in their party to turn upon them.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:00 am
Representative democracy does not seem to be something this woman is familiar with or cares about.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:04 am
When I read this by a stupid woman I fear for our country and Hilary’s chances. I do hope your efforts work Michelle.

..I think people, when they sit down to vote, they vote for the very best candidate. They want somebody that’s going to represent them”
I don’t agree with Janet very often, but I certainly agree here. That’s why I stood in line for hours to vote for Bernie in that farce they called a primary election in Maricopa County, Arizona.
That being said, it’s easy for her to pontificate about the “woman thing” now that she’s been governor of a state.
============================
I wanted to shout to the idiot above, who better to represent women than a woman. 44 men have had their chance. If not now when you idiot?
Is it me, or are these women idiots?
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:08 am
I thought the republican party sunk to a new low when McCain exposed the country to the possibility that Palin could be POTUS just to get the woman vote.
But the republican party supporting Trump is beyond the imagination low. At least Palin had been the governor of a State. This moron has no clue. If there can be a lessor clue that Palin had, trump definitely gets it.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:11 am
I am a republican woman. Trump is a disaster waiting to happen in the White house.
I am voting for Hillary Clinton, not because she is a woman but because she is the most qualified candidate running.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:14 am
Marsha@15
If that is the case then I’m sure you can list those qualifications. Please feel free to enlighten us with what you have learned about Hillary’s qualifications.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:15 am
KT, Oh jeez. It’s YOUR responsibility to educate yourself to Hillary’s qualifications. She is more knowledgable about the world at large than all 17 of the Republican candidate, PUT TOGETHER.
She’ll wipe Trump off the map, because there are many, many more sane and intelligent people in this country than idiots.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:17 am
Grove@17,
Why is it not the responsibility of the people that make those stupid statements about Hillary being qualified to have to back up what they say.
If she was so “knowledgeable about the world at large” why did she vote for a military invasion of Iraq? If she was convinced Saddam had WMD’s what made her think he would not use them against our troops. He used them against people that could not take him out of power, why would he not use them against us if he had them? Did Hillary not think this through or did she not care if tens of thousands of people died most of them our own troops? Did she not see that if he had them and used them against the US that he would be a hero in the Middle East? Don’t bother telling me how she was lied to by Bush. Especially if she believed the lies she should have tried to avoid military intervention that would give Saddam the impetus to use them.
There I’ve presented an argument for why I don’t think she is qualified. I didn’t take the easy way our and tell you to Google it. I stood behind what I am saying.
Now you try it if you can. Tell me what Hillary has done to show her qualifications.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:20 am
“Why is it not the responsibility of the people that make those stupid statements about Hillary being qualified to have to back up what they say.”
Clearly you don’t need an HRC supporter to list her quals, for you to then just unilaterally dismiss them. Any statement that an HRC supporter presented here concerning those quals, by your own description, would be “stupid statements”.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:22 am
KT#18
Why does someone making a general statement owe you their reasons why they are voting for someone.
And in all reality of ALL the candidates Hillary does have the most experience.
1) She does have more foreign policy knowledge than most all of them. As far as her voting for the war, she was bamboozled as well as everyone one else that voted for it. Get over it. Trump is a wild fricken card that scares the bejesus out of most people so that not option.
2) She is actually more center right than most will give her and even most of the economist say she would be LESS dangerous then Trump. Who defaults on debtors and wants to renegotiate the loans….that will certainly send the USA into tail spin! I dont know about you but I kinda like where I am at in life right now.
She not going to get us in unnecessary wars like the orange wants to do. She not going to go extreme left and and frankly her husband was a decent president aside from making bj’s a norm.
She not going to go bible thumping on us, she made mistakes as anyone does with info given at time. Who knows what you or I would have done at that time….its easy to be a armchair critic when its years past, you just dont know what you would have done with the same information.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:23 am
Mark@19,
What I consider a stupid statement is any statement that the person giving it is not willing or able to back up with an explanation.
What do you say to people that tell you Trump is qualified? Do you accept it as fact also?
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:25 am
Kt#21; You said any statement regarding HRCs qualms was stupid. You want to play word games, do it with someone else. And feel free to reply, I can tell you’re a last word freak.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:27 am
LB@20
Making a general statement should not be sufficient reason to vote someone into the white house. However I do agree with you that Hillary is as you say “actually more center right than most “. Which is what got us to the point we are now. Being center right on trade is what sent jobs out of country. Being center right is what got us involved in the longest war in our history. Being center right is why she backed a military coup in Honduras. Being center right is why she went along with bank deregulation. Basically you are saying she is “Republican lite” and I strongly agree with that statement.
As far as being “bamboozled” not all people were. In fact I don’t think Hillary actually believed it either. If she did then she demonstrated sheer stupidity by sanctioning and invasion. If she actually believed that Saddam had WMDs why would she not think he would use them if we invaded? If he was willing to use gas against the Kurds who had no possibility of over throwing him why would he not use them against an American invading army with the explicit intent of taking him out of power? It not only may have left him in power but would have made him a hero in the region. Why have we not invaded Russia in the past? Why have we not invaded Pakistan for regime change? Could it be that we actually know they have WMDs and would use them if invaded? Yes If Hillary was that gullible it is all the more reason to not elect her.
Funny I could go on for hours about all the reasons I think Hillary is “Not Qualified” but her supporters chafe at the suggestion that they should explain why they think she is. That in and of itself should be reason to question her as a viable candidate.

To be fair, any idiot could be trump.

Brewer is prime example of what’s wrong with the GOP – distorted mind coming up with delusional stuff that we all know is simply not true.
Too many women running for office? Give me a break – 16 of the 17 R primary contestants were MEN, there was only 1 woman.
Good ole Jan should slink away into retirement quickly because no one is going to offer her a VP slot.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:30 am
Jan Brewer, you are just another hypocritical republican. If you truly believe there are too many women in politics, then resign. That will be a good start.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:33 am
Seriously, Jan, I know that you are no longer governor and that you have penned this piece in an effort to get a nomination for VP on the trump ticket.
How a woman can actually feel that there are too many women in politics. I can never understand.

Megyn (how her name is accurately spelt) Kelly is furious at Fox because she has become a joke among other women for kowtowing to trump after he treated her so dismissingly.
She is out for blood now. Witness her slamming trump for provoking “threats and Vitriol” against the Federal Judge conducting his fraud case.
——————————–
Fox News host Megyn Kelly ripped Donald Trump on Thursday for his latest accusations of bias against US District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, arguing that they are not only unfounded, but potentially dangerous.
“When he does this, I guarantee you right now that this judge is getting threats and vitriol and who knows what else,” Kelly told guest Bill Bennett.
As the Wall Street Journal reported, Trump claimed that Curiel, who is presiding over civil lawsuits accusing the Republican presidential candidate’s for-profit university, has “an absolute conflict” because he is “of Mexican heritage.”
Curiel, who was appointed by President Barack Obama, was born in Indiana to a Mexican immigrant couple, which Trump says creates a conflict of interest because of his campaign promise to make Mexico pay for a wall between the two nations.
Kelly noted that Trump has also called for an investigation into Curiel because he has ruled against the real estate mogul, which she said forced her to discuss that instead of his endorsement by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI).

Please, Wilma. After Megyn, kissed Trumps ass in that piece she conducted with Trump pretending it was an in depth interview, we’re supposed to believe her now outrage?
She is part and parcel of the azzwholes who gave us the great Orange Chicken and Megyn’s ‘principles’ are like butterflies in the wind.

Can we build a wall to keep Trump’s future wives out?

I agree with you Selma#29. She is a republican hypocrite that is merely practicing selective outrage.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:47 am
You know all those Jean Claude VanDamme movies where he’s both the good and evil twin brother? Megyn Kelly must be trolling us the same way.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:50 am
Wilma@28, Sorry girlfriend you are way off here. Kelly will only criticize trump indirectly. Her recent interview was a blow job.
They, all of the media. have created a fucking monster and there is no putting this asshole back into the bottle. He will have 101 accusations and reasons to blame someone for losing. His nut jobs are going to be pissed and there will be bloodshed.
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:51 am
It’s sad to think Republicans and those who vote Republican has to tell the nation they think Trump is their Daddy and that includes Paul Ryan.
It just shows the nation and the world that the republican stands for party first while claiming “country first.”
June 3rd, 2016 at 7:54 am
Vera#33, you nailed it Kelly should have ended that charade by asking trump to unzip so she could finish that blow job.
