The NRA’s Love Affair With The AR-15, Weapon Of Choice For Mass Murderers, In 22 Tweets

shutterstock_158885486

The powerful AR-15 is becoming the weapon of choice for mass murderers.

It was used at Sandy Hook Elementary, where Adam Lanza killed 27 people, including 20 first graders. It was used in San Bernardino, where Syed Farook killed 14 people. And it was used in Orlando, where Omar Mateen killed 49 people.

The weapon, originally intended for military use, is capable of…   Click here to read more.

This Is The Gun That Committed The Deadliest Shooting In U.S. History

gunads-740x474

How was Omar Saddiqui Mateen able to carry out the deadliest massacre by a single gunman in U.S. history? By bringing “America’s gun of choice” into a closed and crowded space.

Orlando police recovered an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle at Pulse, the gay nightclub that Mateen chose as his target. He reportedly bought the AR-15 and a handgun legally within the last few days.

Without the semiautomatic rifle, which allows a shooter… Click here to read more.

The Role Of Toxic Masculinity In Mass Shootings

AP_16164616853058-1024x682

The man who committed the deadliest mass shooting by a lone gunman in U.S. history had a history of domestic violence and disrespecting women, according to people who were close to him. The emerging details about Omar Mateen fit into a bigger and often overlooked pattern of violence in this country, in which crimes against female partners often escalate to crimes against greater numbers of people.

Mateen, who opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando early Sunday morning — killing 49 people and wounding 53 others — used to abuse… Click here to read more.

‘We normally sell two a day, today we are selling up to 15 an hour’: Georgia gun shop reports soaring AR 15 sales while Pennsylvania dealer has sold 15,000 since Orlando massacre.

    sick.

    /SB

  2. Reberta Says:

Social Butterfly, sick is the exact word I use when I am working with the white racist bastards I have to associate with every day to make a living.

How I wish the terrorist would come and go to their neighborhoods and wipe the sick bastards out. I wouldn’t say a word if I thought they were only heading to white neighborhoods.

Sorry to say it, but those sick bastards keep those killing machines in my neighborhood. Hardly a day goes bye and I don’t hear gun fire somewhere in my neighborhood.

The white boy politicians are taking blood money from the gun industry to keep those killing machines on the street.

That shit about the 2nd Amendment is just rhetoric used to placate tiny dick white boys.

Please ISIS come here. You won’t have any trouble buying the weapon you need to slaughter these white devils. And if you show sincerity in just killing them and their little bigot-to-bes, you will get no trouble from most OTWS.

We are almost to a person sick of their sick shit.

  3. Jacqueline Says:

Michelle, I read them as you suggested. The psychosis behind white men’s sexual insecurities has gone from acquiring big trucks with big wheels to acquiring guns that can kill faster than the one before.

Killing machines have become acceptable because white boys with self image issues about their tiny peckers feel they need them to be a man.

So the rest of the country has to suffer a death by a gun in our country every 17 minutes.

  4. Aldopho Says:

I get no satisfaction seeing anyone killed. But I am starting to rap my head around hoping for the next massacre to occur in one of their neighborhoods.

  5. Eldridge Says:

This is exactly the kind of separation among fellow Americans ISIS is hoping to foster.

We need to as Americans come together to solve this gun problem. What is wrong with outlawing a gun that is merely used to kill en masse?

I would like to own a hand grenade, but it would be foolish for the government to allow me to.

Assault rifles are far to dangerous to allow them to be owned by civilians.

  6. James Says:

As a law enforcement office, I am very worried Social Butterfly#1, to learn that that many assault weapons are being sold.

One day the police may wake up to be totally out gunned.

  7. Lucy Says:

Social Butterfly#1, so many of my friends and relatives are trying to buy those AR-15s it is scary. When I ask them what’t the rush. Most say the fear the government will outlaw the purchase of them so they are buying one now.

My cousin got a loan to help her husband get his. My father has three, yet he too has gone out and purchased another one and 1,000 rounds of additional ammo for them.

  8. Janet Says:

What are we to do? Can we elect enough good minded representatives to get some sensible gun laws passed?

  9. Steve Says:

Me I agree with Aldopho#4, let’s hope the next massacre occurs in one of their neighborhoods.

  10. Alfonso Says:

Why can’t the people get some backbone with their sense? Hilary should be leading by 20 to 30 points against trump. I get it that most of my race are voting color and don’t care what donald says, but it is not in their best interest to put a man in the white house that is as dangerous as trump is.

He is ignorant, lies whenever it is convenient for him, couldn’t care less about the state of the country. He is in this race to make money for his businesses.

  11. Ivan Says:

You Americans love your guns. You white ones love gathering together to tell each other how much better you are than your minority country men.

The men want to control the women with their hypocritical religious claim to righteousness. The women want to be treated equal without having to go to the polls and voting for the females who will give it to them.

Your police want to get more power to spy on and arrest you. Your government is dysfunctional because one party refuses to cooperate unless they get the White House.

The only thing your country can agree on is that they agree on nothing, but the belief they are the Greatest Country on the planet.

Geez, if that is so, the world is fucked. Or as Social Butterfly#1, said “sick.”

  12. Danielle Says:

I don’t think if the next massacre occurs in an all white neighborhood anything will change. Withe people love their guns way more than they love their children or family members.

What should happen is that the leaders of the NRA and those Congress men who refuse to take a stand against assault weapons should fine themselves or their family members the victims of ISIS terrorists.

Now that is something I could get behind. ISIS go to their heavily guarded neighborhoods and unleash your AR-15s. Do your damness. I for one wouldn’t turn you in if you came in and took care of business and slipped out back to your country.

  13. Themla Says:

Add my husband to the list who has just issued his “man card.” He is so proud of his shiny new AR-15. He called our 2 sons over to look and hold it. Guess it won’t be long before they go and get their “man card.”

  14. Cynthia Says:

My husband and brother-inlaw have been proudly displaying their new A$-15s. My brother-inlaw has a list of the 49 names it killed and their pictures tacked above the gun rack he has his displayed in.

I asked his wife to ask him to take it down because I didn’t want my children seeing that. She said I need to have more respect for my country’s 2nd Amendment and my race.

I asked her why she had to bring politics into it. She said we are in a fight for the survival of the white race in America. We need to come together to ward off this ungodly incursion of the breeds into what God and white men started, these United States of America.

I left her home, and I don’t think I nor my children will ever go back.

  15. Doris Says:

Machine killing Guns and donald trump are destroying my faith in my country. Michelle, what can we do?

I don’t see a solution. If Hilary wins, the republicans will treat her as they are doing Obama now. Nothing will change.

  16. Carmen Says:

Most of white america is just plain bat shit crazy. My boss just asked us to contribute to donald trump’s campaign. He has 19 employees. 7 of us are hispanic, nine of us are female. What the heck is he thinking?

What does trump have to offer us? He is asking us to accept a small automatic deduction each pay period that will be donated to trump’s campaign until the November elections.

I would kill the bastard if he takes a nickel out of my paycheck for that racist fool.

  17. Jennifer Says:

EVERY 17 MINUTES AN AMERICAN DIES AT THE HANDS OF A FIRE ARM!

Are you fucking white boys bat shit crazy or what?

  18. Julie Says:

White men think they can blast their way back to the top of the heap. I would like to tell them they are still at the top of the heap and the blasting they are planning to do will drive them to the bottom.

Stop letting your tiny penises control your psychic.

  19. Julie Says:

Here is Conan O’Brien’s reflection on guns.

It’s hard to believe a show that occasionally features a masturbating bear could have the most poignant response to the deadliest shooting in the U.S. that occurred in Orlando, but that’s what happened Monday night.

In an uncharacteristic plea to his audience, Conan O’Brien called for America to do something about semi-automatic assault rifles.

I have really tried very hard over the years not to bore you with what I think; however, I am a father of two, I like to believe I have a shred of common sense, and I simply do not understand why anybody in this country is allowed to purchase and own a semiautomatic assault rifle.

It makes no sense to me. These are weapons of war, and they have no place in civilian life. I have tried to understand this issue from every side, and it all comes down to this:

Nobody I know or have ever met in my entire life should have access to a weapon that can kill so many people so quickly.

These mass shootings are happening so often now that lamenting them afterwards is becoming a national ritual. I do not know the answer, but I wanted to take just a moment here tonight to agree with the rapidly growing sentiment in America that it’s time to grow up and figure this out.

“Conan” airs weeknights at 11:00 p.m. ET on TBS.

To help those suffering in Orlando, Conan implored people to donate at the GoFundMe page set up for victims of the shooting.

UPDATE: One of the weapons used by the Orlando shooter was initially reported as an AR-15-style semi-automatic rifle. Officials are now reportedly saying that weapon was actually a Sig Sauer MCX. According to The Washington Post, that doesn’t change much.

  20. Matthew Says:

If more law abiding citizens were allowed to freely carry, they’d most often be able to minimize the effects of crazed people. Mass shooting seem to happen in gun free zones.

  21. Lydia Says:

America is being held hostage by a gun advocacy group so that NOTHING gets done. We owe it to our KIDS to stop this madness.

The NRA has way too much power and influence…enough to stop any legislation on gun control. Our politicians are bought and paid for by gun lobbyists.

Michelle has the right idea. Go to the polls and vote those criminals out.

  22. Rene Says:

Matthew#20, it was a night club- meaning alcohol, cramped space, flashing lights, not the best place for everyone to be armed and firing.

If all the “good guys” in that club had been armed, the death toll would have been far worse. I will never follow the logic of “arm everyone and this won’t happen.”

That is the spiel of the NRA because they are being paid by the gun manufacturers to put guns in as many hands as they can.

  23. Steve Says:

Lydia#21, Anyone supporting an assault rifle ban is the reason nothing gets done. If you propose enough pointless legislation in reaction to national events, people aren’t going to support the good legislation you suggest every so often.

  24. Mark Says:

Matthew#20, there was an armed off-duty police officer at Pulse. He did not prevent the slaughter of 49 people. This argument, made by the bloody NRA and parroted by gun-huggers everywhere, has never been proven to be correct.

We do know without a doubt that when the Brady Bill was in effect there were no mass murders using military style weapons in America.

The CONServatives have sacrificed hundreds of American lives to payback the donations from the bloody NRA. It’s time America returned to the time when AR-15s were not available and they were not being used to slaughtered dozens of Americans.

  25. Adolph Says:

Steve#23, why is supporting an assault rifle ban unreasonable? How is it “pointless legislation”? For certain if he shooter could not have purchased an AR-15 or any other assault, this mass killing by a killing machine would not have occurred.

What seems to be “pointless,” is getting people like you to understand that in order to allow you and your ilk to have ownership of these type of guns the rest of have to live in fear of one of you using one to mass murder us.

  26. James Says:

Matthew#20, I remember a recent incident in Arlington Texas where the shooter was leaving the scene with no fatalities when one of your good guys with a gun tried to be the hero and was shot dead.

  27. John Says:

No designated drivers at that night club to defend themselves?

  28. Kelly Says:

Law abiding citizens have been able to get carry permits and to easily buy guns for quite some time.

    It’s. Not. Helping.

  29. Irene Says:

Matthew#20, there are no gun free zones in America because guns cross freely to places from other places without security checks. The problem is that there are too many guns.

Btw; if arming people makes us safer, then why do we have so many shootings as we are the most armed nation in the world? The facts prove you wrong, that carrying makes you more likely to get hurt by a gun.

Read up on how Australia got rid of most of their guns…it has been a huge success. Also, that NRA argument about arming people has been debunked for years, so why do you keep repeating it like their shill?

  30. Guy Says:

Michelle’s idiot followers: Our right to bear arms will not be infringed upon by you. Our right to defend ourselves from future governmental tyranny will not be abridged. Too bad there weren’t more concealed-carry citizens in that club. Things might have turned out very differently. The police were ineffective in stopping this slaughter, weren’t they? Stop whining about more gun legislation and learn how to defend yourselves. The horse is out of the barn people. There are millions of AR-15 style weapons in the hands of responsible citizens, so get over it, and figure out how to defend yourself in the event you are ever caught in the middle of a terrorist attack.

  31. Jim Says:

Rene#22, I wouldn’t arm everyone at a bar, but I would a theater, a state office building, and some higher-level schools. Soft targets (those where no one is armed) are the favorite targets of these hating cowards.

  32. Michael Says:

Rene#20, Mathew#20, is not thinking. Look at what his scenario would require.

First, he seems either not to know or opted to omit the fact that there WAS an armed off-duty officer on the premises who engaged the shooter.

But for his gaggle of armed civilians actually helping the situation to make any sense (it doesn’t), these citizens would first have to be at the same level of training and coordination, the sound with have to be cut and the lights immediately turned on.

They would also have to be similarly equipped as the shooter since he had the equipment to get off multiple shots to the limited number they would have with a carry gun.

And…..they would all have to be sober as a judge and then have to (in unision mind you), have the situational awareness to immediately discern who was the assailant(s) and not shoot another potential victim by mistake.

Yeah, that sounds a real ideal situation you’ve got going there Matthew, or Guy#30, or Jim#31.

  33. Kate Says:

Guy#30, I hope you get killed in a terroist attack. Better yet, someone you care about so you have to live with your stupid gun loving views.

  34. Jung Says:

To those of you here advocating more guns. The answer to crazy people getting guns is not letting even more people have guns. Good people make mistakes too, good people can get crazy too.

  35. Steve M Says:

You liberals and your logic on conceal carry. More guns means more death. Wrong, more carrying means less death.

  36. Joe Says:

You liberals need to get someone to teach you to defend yourselves so you won’t be sheep.

  37. Ryan Says:

It is time that this country deals with the issue of firearms. People don’t need these types of weapons and the arguments against such weapon bans make no sense to me. This guy went and bought this weapon legally. More guns on the street is not the answer.

  38. Rick Says:

You liberals fall into a trap that is common with people that share your view…”People don’t need…” We do not live in a need based society. If we did then we could say “People don’t need a house larger than 2 bedrooms…” “People don’t need a SUV or minivan, they only need a car…” It maybe being picky but the need argument drives me up a wall.

  39. Andrew Says:

Rick#38, With all due respect, you are providing a faulty comparison here

  40. Lisa Says:

Rick#38, – what a ridiculous equivalency. These guns are designed to kill humans. The maximum number of humans in the shortest amount of time.

They are not a hunting or sporting gun. They are designed and meant to KILL. They are weapons of war.

The line has to be drawn somewhere and the line should be on semi-automatic assault rifles which is WHY THEY WERE BANNED in the first place until the NRA and their paid for politicians decided to LIFT the ban.

They also voted against keeping suspected terrorists on the “no fly list” from being prohibited from buying weapons! This is insane!

Our politicians are bought and paid for by the NRA — Enough! Time to take our country back from the insane gun huggers!

  41. Matthew Says:

When the 2nd amendment was drafted, the citizenry could bear whatever arms they wished, cannons, muskets, whatever the government had those they ruled over could have.

Where are we now? Law abiding citizens are afraid to exercise their rights when quite often they could’ve minimized the effects of a treagedy like this. When open carriers thwart crimes, it is never reported.

  42. Alberto Says:

Michelle you can argue this thing about regulating guns or banning assault rifles, but these gun fanatics will never give up. I insisted that regulations won’t do anything and these people are going to get guns anyways.. I told them true, but can we at least make the process little bit harder than a simple background check?

  43. Mike,TM Says:

Mattew#41, -That “parity with the government” nonsense immediately falls apart when you realize that technology has made “parity” with our government impossible a long time ago.

Are you suggesting that a private citizen should be able to procure a laser-guided drone equipped with Hellfire missiles? Because that’s what “parity with the government” looks like.

You guys never think your arguments through; It’s truly amazing. And sad.

  44. Billy Says:

Mathew#41, if open carriers thwarted crimes so much as you are implying, the NRA, and nuts like you would be naming them and the occasions every time it did. We all know about them.

The reason we don’t know about it is it rarely if ever actually happened. I see you keep avoiding it, but let me remind you that there was an open carrier at the club. He was the armed security guard. He was also a trained off duty police officer.

The armed security traded shots with the terrorist in Orlando. You fail to mention that, there was a “friendly” gun there. But it didn’t prevent the guy with the bigger more powerful gun from carrying out what he intended to do.

It is shameful of you to keep making these kinds of silly arguments. If only the well equity militia was at hand …. They were, they’re called the police.

  45. Jeff Says:

Handguns and shotguns. 10 rounds or less. If you can’t protect your home or kill a deer with that, you have no business being anwhere near a gun.

Guns are not toys. Semi-automatic assault rifles have exactly two purposes: 1) shits & giggles, and 2) killing massive numbers of people.

The 2nd Amendment didn’t have “shits & giggles” in mind when it was drafted.

  46. Jacob Says:

Once again, here we are as Americans discussing how we should take away a right from our Constitution, not talking about radical Islam and its influence.

This is what the terrorists want. To change our lives. Liberals are falling right into their hands. Good for you.

  47. Dick Says:

Sorry Jacob !! Common sense trumps the 2nd Amendment. The First Amendment gives us Freedom Of Speech but we have outlawed Child Pornography !! Common Sense !!

  48. Jeremy Says:

Jacob#46, even if you want to read it as well regulated militia means anybody owning just about anything, there is the issue that it might be wrong and the damn constitution needs an amendment to correct it. It has happened before, they are called amendments. It’s not easy, but it just takes enough people being pissed off.

  49. Bill Says:

Julie@19, I don’t think the Gun Lobby (aka. NRA) wants to see this sort of notion catching on. Watch them try to get Conan fired (by Trump if no one else).

  50. Curtis Says:

Liberals, this notion has ben around for decades. You nor anybody else will ever be able to disarm the American population, without a war.

  51. Brian Says:

You, leftists. What matters is that people are dying NEEDLESSLY because of assault rifles. You’ll always disagree, and I’ll always know that you’re kind of stupid.

  52. James Says:

Good luck Michelle with getting sensible gun legislation passed. If 26 people being hauled out of an elementary school didn’t move the needle, do you really think a bunch of gay guys and a few straight people being scooped up in hefty bags will make a difference?

The only people who care about this( some are cheering it) are the ones reading these articles, Michelle. About 500 people in a nation of 300 million. The only places with flags lowered are government buildings and that is because the president told them to do so.

If people can’t be bothered to lower their flags for a few days, it is doubtful this makes a beans worth of difference to them.

  53. Jim Says:

No one but me seems to be talking about proactively attacking the root cause – hate. Almost every gun owner in the country owns their guns because of fear of being unprotected from these haters. Everybody accuses haters on the other side; no one is trying to reduce the hate-filled rhetoric. Obama’s speech is just another example, deflecting blame from the administration which had multiple opportunities to do something about this before it happened and onto gun owners who had nothing to do with it. All this to further the agenda that the people must have no way to remove a dictatorial administration, no matter how oppressive. Kinda makes you wonder what he really has in mind.

  54. Robert Says:

I agree with you Mike, TM#43. There actually is a rationale for allowing civilian ownership of assualt weapons. I don’t agree with it and neither do most other Americans.

Unfortunately it resonates with a small but vocal minority that is cynically supported by the NRA acting as a surrogate for firearms manufacturers who reap tremendous profits from military style gun sales. It rests on the belief that the Second Amendment protects the rights of citizens to defend themselves from a tyrannical government.

If that argument was ever valid — and it might have had some credence in the immediate post colonial period when muskets could be used to fend off other muskets — it is now both foolish and dangerous.

  55. Zen Lill Says:

To all the males who were in favor of George WPs response … While I don’t condone getting mega-drunk at any party, it happens occasionally … why wouldn’t you choose to put her in a cab home or put her in a room to sleep it off, or are you so led by your angry inch that you know cannot get full consent from any woman so you creeper your way into the panty of an unconscious woman.

Hello that is not getting laid, look down at your own inadequacies and try to think again with your much much bigger head. With all of your predator attitude and lack in the packing heat department, you wouldn’t even know if YOU got it good let alone give it good. Bet you all get rave reviews by the ladies lolol (NOT)

Females be warned, these A-holes are out there and they’re not stopping, did you hear the smug and pathetic entitlement?

    Alycedale, absolutely perfect response.

    Luv, Zen Lill

  56. Zen Lill Says:

Ps I have shot all types of handguns and automatics also, there’s no question in mind that it isn’t needed under any circumstances … It actually freaked me out how fast the bursts fire. No Need!! No question. End of story. Yes you can kill with regular handguns but there’s just no comparing.

Murders will still occur, full on massacres would stop.

  57. Eamon Says:

Zen lill, Banning guns will not change a person psychologically who wants to inflict harm on others. They will come up with new ways to do damage. Answer me this, will you then make nails, pressure cookers and fertilizer illegal so bombs cannot be made like the ones used in Boston? The people who need to “grow up” are the people who think taking away someone’s rights as an American will solve anything. Guns exist, they kill people when there are used with that intention. If you wish to solve the problem try to understand the people who commit these heinous acts so you can prevent this from happening in the future.

Rest Peacefully to all of those who lost their lives in this horrible tragedy. My heart goes out to the families.

  58. Wanda Says:

    I read this:

NewsOne Now panelist Ali Velshi, journalist and former Al Jazeera and CNN anchor, said we are “doing a disservice trying to drop a veil of simplicity over something that is complex.”

“This has at least three or four layers of complexity, whether it’s homophobia, whether the guy himself was gay, this business of pledging allegiance to ISIS, which any of us can do in a phone call that requires no communication or plotting…does that mean that it’s ISIS inspired or does that mean that [because] I say so?”

Velshi continued, “ISIS is going to have a lot of complexity around this too,” because the extremist group is anti-gay and it is being reported that Mateen was a “closeted-gay” man.

“It does us a disservice – and some of the time it comes from the media – it does us a disservice to rush into what we think this is,” he said.

“This is probably multi-faceted and we won’t solve it if we decide to label it just one thing.”

  59. Bob Says:

Eamon#57, So your solution is do nothing to stem violence? You are messed up. And like the moment of silence in the House by that bought and paid for Ryan, your “Heart” going out to the families means nothing if you are not willing to do something to prevent a similar tragedy.

You and the vote for hire Congressmen are a match made in Hell. You get to keep your guns with your phony conscious of sympathy, the Congressmen get to keep their pieces of silver with their phony moment of silence.

  60. Bob Says:

Oh, and Zen Lill#56, I agree with you 100%. “There is no comparing.” People that do this aren’t born messed up. So anyone can snap. You can’t generalize who will do these things.

Keep the tools for doing this out of people’s hands. Just like bomb materials are hard to get so should weapons of mass destruction.

  61. Charles Says:

I’ve spoken with a number of people in my area of the South who are great fans of AR and AK type rifles. Many of them have never shot anything else. As such, they see these kinds of rifles as “nifty” pop-guns and really cannot appreciate their inherent lethality.

As a Marine veteran, we were trained to use the selective fire version of the AR family (M16A1) and were encouraged to use it in semi-automatic mode to conserve ammunition in a combat situation.

Anyone who says the semi-automatic (civilian) version of the AR is not a military weapon is delusional. It can deliver a higher rate of fire than any of the battle rifles used by the US in WWII. It should NOT be in the hands of civilians.

Likewise for high-capacity semi-automatic pistols like the Glock which can take a 30 round magazine. Frankly, this kind of firearm is even worse than the AR due to its size and ease of concealment.

  62. Allen Says:

First things first get the CORRECT Info, the weapon used was a SIG SAUER MCX, Designed for the SPECIAL FORCES, and a 9mm Block. Had to. Be some reloading time to throw a bottle, glass anything so maybe he could have been rushed. Can’t stand or lay there for three hours.Pray for the injured painful and costly.

  63. Zen Lill Says:

Would agree with Charles I did forget to mention the glock, spot on call.

Eamon, you already got told so I won’t elaborate further.

    - ZL

  64. Nigel Says:

The gun nuts will always come up with some reason why they should be allowed to own those killing machines. a And who cares what name the manufacturers use to disguise the fact they are killing machines.

According to the logic of the gun nuts why stop at machine guns, maybe we all should be allowed to walk around with bazookas, granades, rocket launchers, and tanks (tanks are cool by the way).

The rich people can get a F-16 fighter jet, or maybe some mini A-bombs, cause you never know when you will have to protect your family.

  65. Ruth/AF Says:

Sensible people are wasting their time trying to reason with these gun nuts. Michelle has the right solution, get the republicans out of office.

Getting the republicans out of office will lead to getting money out of elections, get gerrymandering out of elections when a liberal Supreme Court says it’s unconstitutional, get civics classes back into schools so they are educated on how to be citizens and not compete Trump baffoons who fall for his crap.

  66. Fumi Says:

The problem with Americans (besides the whole me, me, me narcism crap) is we don’t respect the gun as tool for survival, as a weapon of last resort.

A lot of Americans worship the gun. This goes far beyond weekly trips to the shooting range. If the only tool you have is a hammer then every problem becomes a nail.

Frankly, most Americans, especially conservatives, are far too immature to be allowed to own weapons.

These shootings are proliferating and getting worse each and every time. It’s just a matter of time before someone we know, someone we love is gunned down by some god crazy whack job from (insert religion here).

So save your prayers, because that’s a big part of the problem here. God doesn’t give a rat’s ass. Praying isn’t doing a damn thing, you’re praying for your own beneift not for anyone elses.

This problem is not going to solve itself. Time to grow up, America. No civilian needs to own an assault rifle. And the NRA can go f^%k itself with a loaded shotgun.

  67. Anthony Says:

Plenty on the left care. They want better economic standing for the poor via better education and living wages. While not a perfect fix it would certainly help a lot. Conservatives are also against these solutions.

Other countries have figured out the gun violence issues we just refuse to adapt them. Sounds like we want to pay lip service without lifting a finger.

I’m with you Ruth and Michelle, get the bought and paid for, gerrymandering, voter suppressing republicans out of office.

  68. Paul Says:

If we make buying guns half as hard as we do for women to get a legal abortion we’d save hundreds of thousands, evrery life is precious as the anti abortion folks say….

  69. George, WP Says:

Just heard that Obama want us to turn in all our firearms.. said we should go and light up some legal weed and start tweeting each other. He says Hillary will take care of us just like those folks in Bengazi.

Oh, and if we do see someone doing some bad thing just download the Survivor app and vote them off the island…. you silly Lemings… PS Florida isn’t a Utopia either

  70. Doug Says:

We have grown up about gun control. It is just that our House of Representatives is gerrymandered in place and beholden to the gun lobby.

  71. Alycedale Says:

When you read the comments of the gun nuts most of them imply how tough they are, i.e -”you can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hands,” they’er the ones who are going to protect their families from foreign invaders, and my all time favorite they need those powerful guns to protect the people from the tyranny of government.

The truth is most are a bunch of sniveling cowards, who probably did everything they could to get out of military service. The others are delusional idiots who think the sophistication of the US military can be overcome with a few automatic rifles and hand guns. Again not that any of these cowards would stand in front of incoming rounds.

Most are like the mass killers who use these weapons to murder others, they are only brave as long as they are the only ones doing the firing.

Logic won’t work with a person whose motivation to have the guns is disguised by lying quips that imply bravery, and manliness. Just do as Ruth/AF, Michelle suggests and others here have suggested, get the republicans out of office.

Get out and vote for Hilary so she can appoint a SCOTUS that will remove money as a vote, and limit campaign input of it. Then SCOTUS can tackle the disgusting gerrymandering the republicans use to stack the House and give them Senators who couldn’t win an honest election otherwise.

Let the people really choose their representatives and the republicans will be out as a party. That one third of the country will be regulated to a place racists, religious fanatics, and idiots should be which is out of places and offices where they would be in charge of anything important.

  72. Taqiyya Says:

Was Omar really inspired by ISIS”? Is it yet clear what Omar’s real connection to ISIS was? Some people have suggested that his pledging loyalty to ISIS was simply a ploy to mask his homosexual desires.

  73. Zen Lill Says:

I was waiting for someone to bring up Benghazi, and of course it was…

Do you really believe that there wasn’t more to that story that simply cannot be exposed? Then you’re a simpleton, when a story is incomplete and you’re waiting for apologies you’re just sticking your head further up where the smell is familiar. Just because you want the truth (your version of that truth that would further your cause to vote for a buffoon) it doesn’t mean you’ll get it for a variety of security reasons.

This is another story republican men love to tell themselves along with its your right and privilege to violate women who are unconscious … I suggest you take your meds in a regular basis you’re starting to get very predictable.
