Good Sunday Morning! Happy PRIDE!
It’s been happening all over the country. Have you been CELEBRATING? How will you LIVE IT UP today?
Here’s the deets for San Francisco:
Art meets politics in a fleet of floats, vehicles, and marchers along Market Street during the San Francisco Pride Parade, one the nation’s largest LGBT events, starting at 10:30 am on Pride Sunday.
Bring a rainbow flag and come cheer on dykes on bikes, bears in straps, trannies in gowns, and others from SF’s colorful LGBT community.
The parade is the culmination of a month of Pride-themed events in the city, leading up to an all-out celebration for Pride weekend with the Pride Festival in Civic Center Plaza.

Blog me!
George, WP: Lol. Butch?! That is the first time anyone has ever called me that. What a hoot. I will have to add that to my list of “interesting” terms men have given me.
As far as the rest of your write, it ain’t gonna happen. Mark my words. Watch this space.
Lewis: Ditto.
Devin: My pleasure. I thought it was pretty cool too. Are you in the field?
Justin: It is a sad state of affairs when you think retirement is close only to discover in your older years that you must continue to work in order to survive. I have several friends who are leaving the state because they just can’t afford it anymore.
Barack Obama: How delightful to see your name here! Thanks for all you do! You are the best, Mr. President!
Anna/Guam: I HOPE that you enjoyed PRIDE!
AH: Welcome back! So nice to see you here. What a kick that you went and saw “Hamilton” – that must’ve been so interesting. YOU are a big hit ya know. :) I’m looking forward to seeing it. Although it would be more thrilling to hear it straight from your mouth. :) Oh, I cannot sign off before saying thank you for all you did. Please give a big hug and hello to Adam and Bita for me.
That’s it for now. Peace out.

I know a lot of Chamorros read this blog. So those of you in the states and some of you who do not stay fluid on the island here is the latest concerning Decolonization of Guam.
—————————————-
A former United States congressman says it’s imperative that the Chamorro people are at the centre of Guam’s decolonisation process.
A decolonisation committee, established by Governor Eddie Calvo, is expected to submit a report within weeks about whether to proceed with a plebiscite in November’s election.
If the vote goes ahead, Guamanians will select one of three options — pursue the possibility of becoming the 51st US state, free association with the US, or full independence.
Robert Underwood, who is now the president of the University of Guam, said there have been difficulties in working out how to include the native population in the process, but it is essential.
Dr Underwood said the Chamorro people have been living under both Spanish and American occupation since the 1600s, and they need to finally have a say on the future of their homeland.
“When you have a colony how do you decolonise it? Do you include everybody who showed up because they are a colony or do you try to sort out who are the people who really have primary claim?” he said.
“And so in the case of Guam I think the case is pretty clear that it is the Chamorro people who have primary claim over this process.”

Stay alert people. We need this.

Thanks for the mention Michelle. Yes, we are doing research in that area. I will get back to you on some stuff the article didn’t mention.

Love the article Michelle. I have to tell you after the massacre, gays in orlando have been buying guns like crazy.
What is happening to this world?

Michelle, I hope you succeed in helping Hilary get to be POTUS. Here in Taiwan, we have our first female leader. On May20, 2016, President Tasi Ing-wen took office.
The excitement you showed during the times we Girlz of Taiwan formed our club around your blog helped us get excited about having a woman for president. So we formed grass roots elements all over Taiwan to work to get her elected.
She has already showed that she is as tough as any man. She has stood up to China’s saber rattling better and defied China’s attempt to force Taiwan to accept the principle that Taiwan is part of China.
She is in a tough battle as she struggles to reverse three consecutive quarters of economic contraction amid waning global demand for Taiwan’s exported goods.
But the Girlz are behind her 100%. You have our best wishes and support Michelle.

It is well known that California has an urgent need for housing options that are affordable and accessible – particularly for our growing aging community. We also know that supply is simply not keeping up with demand.
Senator Wieckowski and the Bay Area Council have come up with an innovative approach to assist our communities with providing affordable housing for low and middle income families.
On Wednesday, June 29, the Assembly Committee on Local Government will vote on SB 1069 (Wieckowski) which simplifies the process of building Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) – also known as ‘granny flats’ – by easing regulatory burdens like providing exceptions to parking requirements if the ADU is within a half mile from public transit and reducing the time to approve or deny a building permit application from 120 days to 90 days.
We need you to act today! Please contact your state Assembly Member and ask them to vote “AYE” on SB 1069 to ease barriers to building ADU’s and increase the availability of affordable housing in California.
Sincerely,
Christina Clem

The stepped-up security surrounding San Francisco’s LGBT pride celebration has caused two honorary grand marshals and a health clinic that serves sex workers to withdraw from the event’s signature parade.
The executive director of the Transgender, Gender Variant, and Intersex Justice Project, Black Lives Matter and the St. James Infirmary said Friday that they are pulling out of Sunday’s parade to protest the heavy police presence and metal detectors that will be present weekend.
The security measures were put in place following the massacre of 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando two weeks ago.
TGI Justice Project Executive Director Janetta Johnson says the measures make LGBT people who have been mistreated by police feel less safe and are at odds with the parade’s theme, which is “For Racial and Economic Justice.”

But great fun was had by me and all my friends.

The crowd went wild when President Obama dined at a San Francisco restaurant last night.

I agree Michelle, it’s not enough to beat Trump. We have to beat the Party of Trump. And the only way to do it is by taking away their Senate majority.
I hope you can convince enough millennials to get off their asses and vote. The old racists whites like my parents are geared up to “make america great again.”
I faced my mother when she was out of the influence of my father and asked her if she was actually going to vote that buffoon. The woman said she was because blacks have gotten too uppity.
I don’t know any blacks, but if I were getting mistreated on a regular basis by the police and the whites were always dumping on me, I would be upset too.
It is terrible the way some whites (old and many of the young also) want to hold on to the days when OTWs were discriminated against by law.
Trump is just saying out loud what most whites are thinking.

The parade was great! The weather cooperated and the people just had fun.

Michelle, we had a great gay pride parade here in Sonoma County.

Next year some of you folks up in San Francisco should hustle on down to see what we in San jose do.
It was off the hook!

Michelle, I went to the culmination of Frameline, the San Francisco International Gay Film Festival. It was very exciting.
Next year you should mention it along with your article like this. More than 250 films are presented during this 10-day cinematic event, with many of the key screenings taking place at the famed Castro Theatre, an icon of the city’s gay community.

Michelle I came down from Sacramento to attend the SF parade. But folks you should come up to Sacramento for the Gay Parade we throw. It is usually done before the SF one.
This year the date was Saturday, June 4, 2016. It is usually a few weeks before your San Francisco Gay Pride event.
Tickets cost $10. The festival comprises vendors and booths featuring local GLBT-friendly businesses and organizations, an Art Zone, and entertainment throughout the day – performers this year included headliners Wilson Phillips, RuPaul Drag Race star Bob The Drag Queen, and many others.
Next year join us.

Gay Pride in SF was great as usual. I just wish some of you would come down to Santa Cruz for the Santa Cruz Gay Pride Festival takes place about 2 to 3 weeks before your SF Gay Pride parade.
It is at Cathcart, Cedar, and Lincoln streets. The festival, which has been going strong for more than four decades, is preceded by the Santa Cruz Gay Pride Parade, and led by Dykes on Bikes, Cheer San Francisco, and the parade’s grand marshals. The parade runs along Pacific from Church to Cathcart.
Michelle, next year I will send you notice way in advance. We love your blog and know if you mention it SF will come.
Love you and all you do to make this world better for all of us.

Zen Lill, did you make it to the states? I was hoping you’d make it to SF for the festivities. I brought some friends who I gave pictures of you to so they could help me find you.
I’m not a stalker. Some of the girls that were helping me were wanna be Girlz. We just wanted to meet you personally.

The Gay Pride festivities aren’t over. We have a Oakland Gay Pride parade in mid-September.
Just across the bay from San Francisco and sharing a border with the liberal university city of Berkeley, the city of Oakland (population 414,000) – long a major shipping and manufacturing base – has undergone a major renaissance in recent years.
As the cost of living has risen in San Francisco and other parts of the Bay Area, many have moved to Oakland, and neighborhoods throughout the city – from Rockridge to the north to downtown to Lake Merritt, to historic Jack London Square and the waterfront to Alameda – have seen an influx of new transplants, including many LGBT residents.
Increasingly compared with the alternative arts and indie culinary scenes of Portland, Austin, and Brooklyn, Oakland is very much a city to watch, and a fun place to explore.
If you happen to be in the area in autumn, you can also attend a relatively new (now in its sixth year) LGBT event, Oakland Gay Pride, which takes place this year in mid-September 2016.
The date hadn’t been confirmed as of this writing, but based on last year’s calendar, it’ll likely be around the second weekend of the month.
