Constance Wu Slams Matt Damon’s Great Wall Film for Perpetuating a ‘Racist Myth’

Good morning!

Josie: I’ve read stats on black men being incarcerated but not much on the women. Much of what you posted was all new news to me. Thank you for enlightening me. Absolutely horrific. This needs to be in the media more.

Helena 1, Juanita, Cynthia, Anonymous, et al:  Thanks for posting some really good reminders (delighted some were past blog comments that stuck with you till this day) about white privilege and just who truly is the beneficiaries of Affirmative Action. Good stuff worth repeating.

Rebecca:  You know me well. :)

Patty:  Sorry you have trouble being the first. I have no control of that. As you can see it is not always regulars who post the first comment. Just happy you are here commenting too.

Danielle:  My pleasure.  Thanks, I’m with you – I would most like to meet Michelle Obama too, not to mention her darling husband, who fascinates me. :)

Doris: Right? Let’s not focus on that. So sick of the media saying this and that about her. Also, get off the fact that she’s not as warm and fuzzy, or relatable, or authentic, blah blah. They scrutinize her so much more than a man, down to her looks and how she dresses. Hell, I’m in the style business and everyone I dress tells me they want to be more relatable and authentic to the world It’s not the easiest thing to be when you aren’t in the limelight 24/7 so you can imagine how Clinton feels when all eyes are on her.  I want to focus on her talents, her commitment, her tenacity to hang in there when hate surrounds her. What about her ability to work across party lines, stay strong under pressure, her years and years of support of women and girls. Sorry no man is going to be as a strong of a supporter when it comes to the rights of women. 40 years in politics. I’m putting my trust in her.

Gwen: I have no doubt. I’d like to read that book. I say, “Write it.” Hmmm… Just read your added comment. Interesting that “…her biggest beef with white men was that they discriminated against her because of her sex...” yet she believes that “…OTWs are not as civilized as whites,“ if I’m understanding your comment correctly.

Terri: Ditto on much of what you said. I have way more to say here and perhaps I will later.

Frankie: I definitely see that as a good thing. I supported Obama’s goals as they were my goals too, along with many others in this country that supported him. And yes, I will admit that I too wanted Obama for a third term. But as I know that is impossible, I totally support Hillaryit is her turn now. And quite Frankie (Corny but I couldn’t resist :),  I like that Hillary is continuing the process that Obama started. That is the problem that we come across when parties switch back and forth in elections and agendas are changed, real change is hard to advance.

Skipping around today, and Alycedaleyour comment caught my eye. First of all, thank you. Secondly, I was just reading an article, one that I decided was going to be my write for the day. Sometimes when I have time I read the comments on a particular article just to see what their audience is thinking. During my reading I came across exactly what you brought up: “Symbolic Annihilation.” Interesting. We must be on the same thought wave.

That was a new term for me so I “googled it” as you and the person who left the comment suggested.

Here’s the write from Vulture.com:

BURN IT ALL DOWN AND LET’S START OVER

Constance Wu Slams Matt Damon’s Great Wall Film for Perpetuating a ‘Racist Myth’

29-great-wall-constance-wu.w529.h529.2x

Constance Wu isn’t here for your excuses, equivocations, or apologies for Matt Damon’s upcoming film, The Great Wall, in which he stars as a heroic dragon-slayer defending the Great Wall in ancient China. (No, really.) “We have to stop perpetuating the racist myth that [only a] white man can save the world,” Wu writes in screenshot of her Twitter drafts. (Side thought: Is Twitter drafts the new Notes app?) “Our heroes don’t look like Matt Damon. They look like Malala. Ghandi. Mandela. Your big sister when she stood up for you to those bullies that one time.”

She doesn’t mince words when she says that Hollywood needs to step up and do better. Wu told Vulture something similar about executives who say that they “try,” when she said, “Boo fucking hoo, a lot of shit is hard. Care more, make it matter.” Wu isn’t about to let Hollywood executives off the hook:

Rather, it’s about pointing out the repeatedly implied racist notion that white people are superior to POC and that POC need salvation from our own color via white strength. When you consistently make movies like this, you ARE saying that. YOU ARE. Yes, YOU ARE. YES YOU ARE. Yes, dude, you fucking ARE. Whether you intend to or not. We don’t need salvation. We like our color and our culture and our own strengths and our own stories. (If we don’t, we should) We don’t need you to save us from anything. And we’re rrrreally starting to get sick of you telling us, explicitly or implicitly, that we do.

And yes, that goes for the “money” argument:

Money is the lamest excuse in the history of being human. So is blaming the Chinese investors. (POC’s choices can be based on unconscious bias too) Remember it’s not about blaming individuals, which will only lead to soothing their lame “b-but I had good intentions! but…money!” microaggressive excuses.

After all, actors of color should have the chance to make box-office bombs — just like white ones!

Think only a huge movie star can sell a movie? That that has NEVER been a total guarantee. Why not TRY to be better? If white actors are forgiven for having a box office failure once in a while, why can’t a POC sometimes have one? And how COOL would it be if you were the movie that took the “risk” to make a POC as your hero, and you sold the shit out of it?!

Here’s the full statement:

Screen Shot 2016-07-30 at 10.46.00 AM

And here is what I found in the comments section of this write from someone named “Johnny Division:”

There is a word for these kinds of limited opportunities – it’s called a “Glass Ceiling.”

And as long as we are stereotyped and underrepresented in the media, we are generally seen in the public eye as a monolith (and less as individuals). There’s actually a word for that in the social sciences: “Symbolic Annihilation” (Google it), hence why we can’t get more complex roles – Hollywood thinks it’s too “unreal” for the general public.

Did you know the very first international male sex symbol EVER – was an Asian man? His name was Sessue Hayakawa, of the silent era (1910s/20s). He was the first, and to this very day, the LAST – internationally recognized male Asian sex symbol. Obscure today, he was as huge and mainstream as Chaplin! A DiCaprio of his time; his roles were mainly forbidden heartthrobs, and dashing villains – the essence of “tall, dark and handsome”.

His career went to shambles as Yellow Peril ideals/propaganda (anti-Chinese immigration and anti-Japanese WW2 sentiments) and anti-miscegenation laws set in (if you were non-white, you could even lose your citizenship entirely for marrying an Asian man). It was about this time that many of today’s Western stereotypes against Asians were born from and continue today… and to this day, Asian women are fetishized, while Asian men are portrayed as geeky nerds/martial artists, asexual/desexualized, short, and the butt of small penis jokes… imo, it contributes to why Asian men are the least desirable in interracial relations (but notice how that all goes out the window with non-Asians who absorb Asian media like anime, J-rock/Kpop, etc), and otherwise never get leading heroic roles (unless martial artist, of course). There has never been another Hayakawa since.
Some TV shows are fixing it today (like The Walking Dead), but movies are still a farcry behind.

*****

12:02 PM Readers: Oops PS…I forgot to add in my commentary.  In response to Wu’s comment, “We have to stop perpetuating the racist myth that [only a] white man can save the world,” This continues to be perpetuated, and yet we know that in reality this isn’t true because it was only about 8 years ago that a black man, Barack Obama saved the world from a financial meltdown. He did that in spite of efforts by a determined racist bunch of American politicians planning to sabotage his every effort.

An act of treason by anyone against a sitting POTUS if that POTUS were white, but this hero saving the world is black. And yet no one has been arrested for treason even though it is widely known that the republican party’s main goal was to bring Obama down with little care for what happened to the country in doing that. Does that mean it didn’t happen or that perpetuating the myth that only a white man can save the world means history can’t recall it that way? At least as long as the white man controls what history accounts.

What say Wu? (Lol – bear with me – Looks like I’m in that kind of mood today) Agree with Johnny D? Other comments?

Blog me.

Peace out.

  1. Zen Lill Says:

That’s good googling, could use its own day here.

It’s ridiculous that ‘big bank’ actors are always white guys (freaking bored me to tears)
and this one is just downright insulting as hell, there are plenty of sexy Asian men who could
Do justice to the role and should since it is China (I watch Chinese tv since I’m trying to learn the language, and they could pick any number of actors thriving there)

    ***As if…
white men luv to believe they’re most sexy but seriously very few are…
They think their cash covers all their inherent flaws and we just should focus all our energy on worshipping them. And many box of rocks women do : l ugh.
    meanwhile look around you.

    Luv Zen Lill

  2. Lois Says:

Damn, I was trying to be the first to say what you just said Zen Lill.

  3. Will Says:

Sorry Lois, we can’t all be first. Unless our initials are ZL, maybe.

  4. Will Says:

Sorry Lois, we can’t all be first. Or not.

  5. Will Says:

    Sorry for the double post

  6. KIA Says:

Michelle, we solved the spam problem. Too bad it isn’t as easy to solve the obvious racist assumption that only white males can save the day.

  7. Zen Lill Says:

I think me bring first today was a matter of timing.

I just left my two cents on Election 2016 on previous page so I refreshed and popped over to read/write while I had time.

  8. Zen Lill Says:

Being** sorry about predictive text typos

  9. Liz Says:

This white girl wishes a white man hadn’t given up his starring role as POTUS because Obama sucks.

  10. Doris Says:

Michelle, thanks for acknowledging my comment. If more people catch on to the media’s handling a woman candidate as opposed to the deference they give to men, this would be a fairer race.

Also I have done the male bit 44 times, what so bad about giving a woman a chance.

  11. Paula Says:

Liz#9, Oh and what you wouldn’t give to suck that fine black man’s dick.

  12. Anguó Says:

I’m just waiting for all the excuses why this one is the exception to the white wash by Hollywood.

  13. Christine Says:

I’ve been saying for months that I am afraid of a Trump Presidency. This guy knows nothing about what a President should be knowledgeable of on day one; he has a hair-trigger temper, and we will be lucky if he doesn’t start WW III.

  14. Mark Says:

Christine#13, I’m still in shock at how he responded to the DNC critisim. How can people not realize how unblanced and insecure he is. This guy should not ever have any power to wage war.

  15. David Says:

If she didn’t take such a role, she wouldn’t have a job at all…and no voice. Good for her!

  16. Eric Says:

Like Keanu Reeves in “47 Ronin”, Damon is only a -symptom- of the Hollywood Racism disease when studios try to kiss up to Asian markets by doing “Asian” stories”.

The idea that studios have to put a white actor that Westerners will “identify” with pales in comparison to the fact that, as most of us learned in school, the Great Wall was NOT built because of monsters.

(In fact, modern socialist China is secretly -ashamed- of the Great Wall–since it’s a big reminder of the days of tyrannical emperors and the noble workers worked to death building it and buried under it–but at least it generates tourism.

I suspect this will be another little cultural problem studios didn’t take into account when counting their “worldwide grosses”, like not realizing that China doesn’t like law-breaking caped vigilantes or comedies about ghosts.)

Japan’s original story of the 47 Ronin was a historical epic and didn’t have spider demons in it, but when Hollywood takes on an Asian story, they’re interested in cultural mythology, period…Who wants somebody else’s history that happened to some other weird foreign country?

And reportedly, the script that Zhang Ziyi and the Chinese co-producers signed on for was going to be a historical battle epic, until the American producers wondered whether there were any mythological Chinese Titans to build the wall against.

  17. Mitchell Says:

We need Bourne to save us from more of Wu’s crybaby BS.

  18. Katie Says:

Zen Lill Nice reply, you just beat me to it! :-)

  19. Joseph Says:

Mark, He shouldn’t have any power to walk to the grocery store unchaperoned!

  20. Julio Says:

Face it white males support trump because they think like him.

  21. Greg Says:

So it’s automatically racist to cast a white man in a movie that takes place in China? That’s ridiculous. If the movie contained racist comments, or depicted people with stereotypical accents, etc. then maybe I could see your point.

But this just looks like envy.

  22. Norman Says:

you get 2 for 1 with Clintons! And 2 liars, no less!

  23. Lee Says:

Didn’t take long for the apologists to start posting.

  24. Steve Says:

    The GOP currently holds…

248 out of 440 seats in the House

54 out of 100 seats in the Senate

    31 out of 50 Governors

70 out of 99 state legislative chambers.

The White Man Rules! So why can’t the movies reflect that.

  25. Chad Says:

The only person that will FIGHT for all Americans Rights! The only person that will put America 1st- Donald Trump!

  26. Chad Says:

    Also,

    Debt?
    Terrorism?
    Lack of National Security?
    Police Officers as Targets?
    Law inforcement under attack!
Race Relations at their worst in history! FORCED POPULATION OVERLOAD!

  27. Vinny Says:

Chad#25, Make sure you enroll in Trump U. get a diploma on conning and a cutout with Trump but you need to max out your credit card.

Make a deposit on a Trump condo, you will get a glossy brochure and a bankruptcy letter suitable for framing.
Then make sure you sign a contract to do some work in a Trump project, then you will get stiffed and sued for shoddy work.

  28. Sonja Says:

Who would you rather try to work with to solve a complex problem? Who possesses the nuance of thought necessary to negotiate with other countries in a way that is most beneficial for all?

Who is better prepared to try to make this democracy work the way it is supposed to for all of us? Just asking.

  29. Mary Says:

The repubs are always bragging about how business wise the Rump is. The Rump who has numerous bankruptcies, nearly a billion in loan defaults, and has basically been forced out of his own real estate company due to mismanagement isn’t careless??

  30. Kris Says:

Chad#25&26, The numbers don’t lie. Thanks for this post.

  31. Rucker Says:

Liz#9, Pissy because you didn’t think of it first, are ya?

  32. Judi Says:

Why all the concern over what disgusting things trump is saying about his competition? Have you forgotten the last two elections and all the names hurled at Obama?

  33. Brian Says:

You can’t win an election against an incumbent if you don’t make things look bad. Trump’s problem is that he doesn’t follow up and say how he’s going to do better.

He just spouts nonsense like, “We’re going to start winning again. We’re going to win so much you’ll get tired of winning.” It’s that kind of jibberish that costs him credibility.

  34. Zen Lill Says:

17 Mitchell typical response to a woman bringing up a good point that your self righteousness cannot handle.

21 Greg again your not seeing the underlying point.

There are days I wish I could change places with s white man to see what it’s like to live with all that oblivious self righteousness, must be interesting to live in that altered reality … Women who lock step with you must’ve been born without their 3D eyeballs bc going along with and support all that nonsense that sounds like your almost offended is just shake my head mind boggling.

I’m not saying you need to agree with everything written here, sometimes I don’t but at least expand your minds to see things from another’s’ point of view

It is the defining marker of maturity (and that could be the ish, many men esp in US are really grown up boys)

    Luv yaz nonetheless ZL

  35. Kent Says:

I liked this when I read it. Don’t support someone who wants to block single payer or any kind of government-funded health care, will repeal the ACA, get rid of Medicare, thinks insurance shouldn’t cover birth control, doesn’t believe in funding stem cell research, supports school vouchers for church schools and pre-schools (which siphon off taxpayer dollars to religious schools in a profound violation of the constitution), wants to abolish the Department of Education, supports the gun lobby, opposes the economic stimulus which every economist showed is what the country actually needed (and which brought the country back from the brink), doesn’t understand that a country operates with debt –it’s part of how trade works and also how you fund programs of benefit to the citizens, with the realization that they’ll pay you back with their skills (the way a family funds their children’s college education), fails to understand the basic economics of the country, has no understand how global trade works and how we need our trading partners (wants to abolish all trade agreements)….?

Look at his actual platform, his history, and what he has actually said and what he actually stands for. Consider that a vote for a small third party candidate isn’t a “protest” but a wasted vote that will favor Trump.

Then look at Hillary’s, and Hillary’s level of experience and qualifications. She’s spent her entire life fighting for you and your rights, and knows how to get things done. Don’t let Karl Rove manipulate you into what he wants you to think. He’s not looking out for you.

  36. Terri Says:

I’m tired of hearing bernie folks saying their conscious forces them to support the Liberation candidate. A vote is thrown away on him…he doesn’t stand a chance.

If the Libertarians want to be the third political party, they need to start at the local level and build up…not try to take the top and work down.

  37. Chris Says:

This would be fascinating, if Trump wasn’t throwing the election to his “family friends”, the Clintons (who he donated to in the 90s…are Americans really this thick? they know each other, well!). It’s a total farce, I don’t believe anything Trump or Hillary say: they want to win, neither one has a vision to fix what’s broken in this country. Just more hate, fear, and confusion.

Zen Lill, you nailed this one.

  38. Jennifer Says:

Terri#36, I agree anyone switching to the Libertarian Party is “proudly” wasting a vote. How noble of you! How very elite and privileged!

You don’t care about the Supreme Court nomination or continual funding for Planned Parenthood or the environment or health care – oh right, you prefer Johnson who is for the top 1% and who would never ever get elected no matter what! If you hate the two party system, then work WORK to change it – start by working towards drastic campaign funding changes, ending gerrymandering and eliminating the electoral college – there can be no third party elections without those changes.

  39. Kathy Says:

I think you should review the actual plans and policy initiatives Hillary has offered. And if you watched the DNC — there was not hate, fear, and confusion being espoused.

Cynicism is so easy and it’s a rejection of complexity — and a nihilism and anarchy are a choice. Be careful what you wish for!

  40. Sandra Says:

    Go Hillary!!! 󾍘🏻󾍘🏻󾍘🏻
Keep fighting for our wonderful Country!!! 󾓬󾓦󾓬󾓦
Please continue on with the goals that Obama would have done (if he could have served a third term), keep fighting for every American, every race, every child… for everything you and this terrific country stands for…. Diplomacy!!!!! 󾓬󾓦❤️󾬓

  41. Maryanne Says:

Chris#37, The problem with conspiracy theories like that is that they forget all the other people who had choices.

Bill Clinton did encourage Trump to run. He thought it would be a great practical joke on the Republicans. Why the heck would he — or anyone with a brain — expect Trump to get this far? The Clintons didn’t pick the other hopeless wannabes. They didn’t direct the GOP to turn the whole thing into a hatefest to nominate the Craziest One of All.

It’s all like saying that there was a plot to sink the Titanic. Sure it was going too fast and didn’t have enough lifeboats and the so-called watertight bulkheads were badly designed. But who put the iceberg there?

  42. Chelsea Says:

A long time ago, my mom became famous for saying that it takes a village to raise a child. I hope it was clear Thursday night why I am so proud to be her daughter, and so grateful she is Charlotte and Aidan’s grandmother. I know from the bottom of my heart she will make us all proud as our president.

It turns out it takes a village to elect a president, too. And you’re a part of it.

I’m so grateful to everyone who helped my mom become the Democratic nominee this week — the volunteers who made phone calls, knocked on doors, and all who donated.

Thank you to everyone who wakes up in the morning determined to make somebody else’s life better, and for working with my mom because she shares that same drive.

    Thank you.

Guam bill: Child sex abuse victims could sue at any time

HAGATNA, Guam —Guam is on its way to becoming the first U.S. territory to allow victims of child sex abuse to sue their perpetrator at any time, without restriction, on retroactive cases.

As of Friday, there was no opposition to a bill that would remove time restrictions for suing child sex abusers. A public hearing on the bill is scheduled to resume Monday.

“We cannot continue to expect the church to fix itself in this regard,” Chalan Pago resident Gerard Taitano told senators on Thursday. “We must hold child sex abusers and their enablers accountable for their actions. Serious moral, legal and ethical questions arise whenever a prosecutor cannot adequately indict child sex predators or their enablers.”

Other U.S. jurisdictions are considering expanding or eliminating statutes of limitations on rape and child sex abuse, because of high-profile sex abuse allegations, including those involving members of the Catholic church.

In Guam’s case, the recent allegations involve the archbishop, the highest leader of the local Catholic church. The alleged sex abuses, according to his accusers, happened when Apuron was still parish priest at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Agat during the 1970s.

Sen. Frank Blas Jr.’s Bill 326-33, in its substitute form, says the intent is to remove the current section requiring “certificates of merit,” as such information would have a chilling effect on those sexual abuse survivors who choose to seek justice against their victimizers.

    ‘World is watching’

Five individuals have publicly accused Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron of molesting or raping four altar boys when he was parish priest in Agat in the 1970s, drawing national and international media attention. The spotlight grew bigger when the Vatican temporarily removed Apuron from the daily administration of the Guam church because of the sex abuse accusations.

“Senators, whether you know it or not, the whole world is watching,” Tim Rohr said at the public hearing.

Rohr said Apuron is a member of a very powerful and well-financed international organization, which has wrought heartache and destruction in dioceses around the world.

“The fact that it is a bishop who stands accused of these horrors, and that a major figure of the Roman Curia has been assigned to Guam in his stead, has heightened world attention on what is happening right here, right now, and in this room,” Rohr said.

“The Vatican will finally see that this hiding and moving and secreting about of those who abuse and ravage and rape our children will not only be tolerated but will be pursued and prosecuted and punished by every possible legal means,” Rohr said. “Senators, the world is watching and waiting to see if you are ready and willing to stop these monsters.”

    Could file claims

The substitute bill gives child sex abuse survivors a chance not only to seek justice for the acts that have scarred them, but also allows them to file claims against institutions and organizations and other individuals who have engaged in a conspiracy to cover up those acts, said David Sablan, the president of the Concerned Catholics of Guam.

“The passage of this bill and its enactment into law will be justice served, albeit years later,” Sablan added.

Annabelle Cruz, a social worker and former administrator of the Bureau of Social Services Administration, which includes Child Protective Services, said she was compelled to share her thoughts with senators in light of recent events. Cruz said many professionals engaged with the topic are involved after the fact.

“Policymakers, educators, humanitarian organizations, religious groups and others must partner with us so that we can effectively address and help prevent the victimizing of our most vulnerable citizens, our precious children,” she said.

    ‘Failed to stop it’

Rosa Cruz Santos, a resident of Yona and a parishioner at Nuestra Senora De Las Aguas Catholic Church in Mongmong, said there has been much wrongdoing in the handling of child sex abuse in the church.

“When it has happened and we do nothing about it, this too is wrong because we failed to stop it,” she said.

Recently, the Archdiocese of Agana revised its policy in handling allegations of sex abuse involving the clergy by requiring the archbishop to recuse himself from proceedings when he is the one being accused of abuse. Previously, the archbishop decided whether an accusation would be investigated, even if the accusation was against him.

The Legislature’s Judiciary committee, headed by Sen. Frank Aguon Jr. will continue the public hearing at 10 a.m. Monday. The committee substituted the bill to ensure the language is consistent with the intent of lifting the statute of limitation for child sex abuse cases.

The Judiciary also sent written testimony on the substitute bill, which it said “controls the statute of limitations period for civil claims arising from child sexual abuse.”

    Accusers testify

During Thursday’s public hearing, three former altar boys who accused Apuron of molesting them in the 1970s testified in support of Bill 326-33.

Another man also testified, telling the senators that his older brother, as a 9-year-old altar boy in the 1970s, was raped by Apuron. He said he kept his brother’s secret for 38 years. His brother died 11 years ago. In May, their mother came forward, saying before her son died in 2005, he told her that Apuron molested him.

Apuron hasn’t been charged with any crime. He denied the accusations of child abuse against him and threatened to sue those who publicly accused him of child molestation. He remains archbishop of the Archdiocese of Agana. Local church officials said they don’t know where Apuron is.

Four Apuron accusers filed a $2 million libel and slander lawsuit against Apuron, the Archdiocese of Agana and up to 50 other people for calling them liars after they publicly accused Apuron of child sex abuse.

    Allegations:

Roy Quintanilla alleges archbishop molested him as a child
Mother of deceased man accuses Apuron of molesting son
Walter Denton accuses accuses Guam’s archbishop of rape
Roland Sondia goes public with abuse allegations against Apuron

Michelle, I wish we had a “Michelle” in China. America doesn’t know how fortunate they are to have two such great women as You and Hilary Clinton.

Everyone in your country should “want to focus on her talents, her commitment, her tenacity to hang in there when hate surrounds her. What about her ability to work across party lines, stay strong under pressure, her years and years of support of women and girls.”

  45. Lydia Says:

Only a woman will truly understand what it means to be a woman competing in a white male dominated America.

White women need to take a page from the OTW book on Obama. Give someone other than a white male a chance to be POTUS.

When someone suggests that a womb doesn’t qualify you for POTUS, remind the bastards: 1. it qualified to carry and nurture his/her ass for nine months; 2. it qualified to bring his/her ass into this world, & it qualifies to be his/her mother.

If it qualifies to be his/her mother, it damn sure qualifies to be considered along side the credentials of any man to be POTUS.

Then look the asshole straight in the face and ask what qualifications donald trump has other than being a dick with a dick.

  46. George, WP Says:

Here’s a good read for you liberal bastards who think that bitch has a chance to be president.

Dinesh D’Souza’s new book Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party will debut at #2 on the New York Times bestseller list, capping off an incredible week in which D’Souza’s accompanying feature film Hillary’s America also became the highest-grossing documentary of 2016.

The book and film present the shocking hidden history behind Hillary Clinton’s rise to power. While Clinton took the stage in Philadelphia this week to formally accept her party’s nomination at the Democratic National Convention, readers and theatergoers around the nation were learning about the shady backroom Democrat dealers who taught Hillary Clinton her particular brand of corrupt party politics—and how she and her supporters plan to utterly transform America.

Step by step, scene by scene, D’Souza proves that not only is Hillary Clinton a liar and a criminal—who would have been indicted for mishandling classified information on her secret email server had the Democratic Party not closed ranks around her—she is also the culmination of her party’s deliberate and stunning plot to redistribute wealth and political power to the liberal elite. If Hillary Clinton is elected, no more will America be a land of opportunity. Instead, it will be a land of rapacious crony capitalism, run solely for the benefit of friends of the Obamas and the Clintons and the Democratic Party.

“I get it,” Hillary Clinton said in her convention speech. “Some people just don’t know what to make of me.”

Actually, Dinesh D’Souza knows exactly what to make of Hillary Clinton—and he’s letting the whole country in on the secret.

Get the New York Times bestseller Hillary’s America now to find out how to stop Hillary Clinton from destroying the country once and for all.

  47. Carla Says:

D’Souza is an Indian uncle tom milking the racist, misogynistic, and or religious fanatical whites for every dollar he can get.

    Here’s his take on feminism.

The feminist error was to embrace the value of the workplace as greater than the value of the home. Feminism has endorsed the public sphere as inherently more constitutive of women’s worth than the private sphere. Feminists have established as their criterion of success and self-worth an equal representation with men at the top of the career ladder. The consequence of this feminist scale of values is a terrible and unjust devaluation of women who work at home.

So you can take his opinion of Hilary Clinton with that proverbial grain of salt.

Beautifully put Lydia#45. Yes, Michelle, “Sorry no man is going to be as a strong of a supporter when it comes to the rights of women. 40 years in politics. I’m putting my trust in her.” that is obvious on its face.

  49. Hafiz Says:

D’souza is an uncle tom we in India are delighted to be rid of. He was an apologist for the colonization of India. His justification of that and his justification of anything the white man does is sucking up to the point of self hatred because he is not white.

He is so proud to be accepted by the whites in America that he doesn’t see he is but an apologist for the white racists. They love his acceptance of the white man’s colonization of POC.
    ———————————–
In the second chapter of What’s So Great About America, D’Souza defends colonialism, arguing that the problem with Africa is not that it was colonized, but rather that it was not colonized long enough. He supports the European colonization of India and other countries, claiming that Christian colonization was a good thing for India because it was a way for Indians to escape the caste system, superstitions and poverty.[48][49]
