The Trump Files: Donald’s Nuclear Negotiating Fantasy

Good morning!
Did you watch the Commander in Chief Forum last night? What did you think?
Here’s a few things I noticed. For one, Matt Lauer was all over Clinton by opening up the conversation telling Clinton that this wasn’t the forum to attack their opponent. Clinton didn’t “attack” Trump – she pointed out “facts” about him. (Trump doesn’t speak factually. He just goes on and on about the plans he has but can’t seem to talk about them – ugh, maybe because he has none!)
And did you notice how Lauer gave Trump deference and didn’t ask Trump not to attack his opponent, Clinton? And then when Trump attacked Clinton, and Obama, and the generals in the military, Lauer didn’t stop him.
I also noticed Clinton made a big mistake when Lauer tossed her a softball. He asked her why she voted for the war in Iraq and then changed her mind. Unfortunately, Clinton blew it there. She should’ve said what Trump has been saying all along. “Bush lied, and the Republican party knew it.”
All Clinton had to say was, “I was lied to just like the rest of the world – there were no weapons of mass destruction – Bush lied. Look at all the lives lost because of it.” But she didn’t and it was a big missed opportunity. She could’ve garnered some votes on that one – Too bad. Hopefully she’ll learn from it and next time nail the republican party.
Lastly, Lauer knew Trump lied about supporting the Iraq war (Trump says he opposed the war way before the invasion, {He’s such an LSOS} but facts say he didn’t.), but Lauer didn’t say a thing…he just moved on to the next question. Wha’at?! As the Huff Po stated, Lauer Cowers. Yes, he did. Lauer’s no different than the rest of the media: “…reporters have repeatedly let the Republican presidential candidate tell a revisionist version of his past stance without pushing back on the claim.”
I’ve said all I want to say right now. No doubt you’ll all have more to add. Me? I’m going onto today’s topic.
Trump claims he knows more about ISIS than our military. Uh huh. He also thinks he knows everything about missiles. Right.

The billionaire was once convinced he could cut a magnificent nuclear weapons deal with the Soviet Union.
In the 1980s, Donald Trump became a global symbol of wealth and success who was planning to build the tallest skyscraper in the world. But the one deal he really wanted to cut was an arms reduction treaty with the Soviet Union that would take nuclear missiles off the Cold War’s battlefield. It’s now clear that Trump knows quite literally nothing about nuclear weapons, but then he fantasized going toe-to-toe with the Russkies at the nuclear bargaining table.
“It’s something that somebody should do that knows how to negotiate and not the kind of representatives that I have seen in the past,” he told the Washington Post in 1984. “It would take an hour-and-a-half to learn everything there is to learn about missiles…I think I know most of it anyway.”
Three years later, growing even more alarmed about Libya and other rogue nations getting the bomb, he told author Ron Rosenbaum that he was indeed working with the Reagan White House on nukes. “I’m dealing at a very high level on this,” he said.
Trump was frightened about the spread of nuclear technology—he seemed at one point during the interview to suggest the United States should bomb France to keep it from selling nuclear know-how—and worried about the deal-making skills of American officials. “They have no smiles, no warmth; there’s no sense of them as people,” Trump complained. “Who the hell wants to talk to them? They don’t have the ability to go into a room and sell a deal. They’re not sellers in the positive sense.”
“I used to laugh when I thought back on Trump and me in [the 21 Club] talking nukes,” Rosenbaum wrote for Slate this year. “I’m not laughing anymore.”

Yes, Michelle I did notice that Lauer didn’t ask trump not to attack Hilary. Actually he seemed to be okay with trump not answering any questions put to him. He seemed content to allow trump to defect any answer with an attack upon Obama.

Michelle, I wouldn’t worry about Lauer being easy on trump . Hilary needs to use other people’s credibility to help her. For example there are about 126 republican security experts that say trump is unqualified to be POTUS.
She needs to start citing these people. No republican cares what she says about trump.

Michelle I am so embarrassed by the narcissism of my race that would support a totally unqualified person to be POTUS in order to retain their white privileges.

She noted that Trump said to Howard Stern on the air and after, which I heard that Trump supported going into Iraq at the time, which is true and on record tape. Hillary said she supported, but also admitted that in hindsight it was a mistake when more is known.
What is bizarre is Trump was talking about our military being like a Roman Legion or the Nazi by taking the spoils in Iraq and claiming all the oil for ourselves……this has never been the way our military has ever worked, we are not a mercenary force.
Trump is in it for the money. He is playing these bigots to profit from his run. He doesn’t expect to win. If he does it will be just another bonus

Michelle, thanks for this eye opener. Hilary was a clear winner for her on every evaluation point – the debate will be entertaining – all he had was talking points from all his rallies – “make America great again” means nothing.

I’m old and did not dare tune in because I was afraid I would have a heart attack watching these two “pretenders to the throne”strut and pose and do everything possible to obfuscate their plans for the future of our country. We deserve better…we deserve so much better. They will have to add a space on the ballot for “other” or, “none of the above.” Voters must get rid of the two political parties which created the demise of our once great democracy.

linton repeatedly and effectively gave pointed, clear answers with several specific examples of her knowledge of the problems discussed, her experience with and knowledge of the roles of key agencies in those problems, what she has already done and what she will do to solve these important issues. She has the experience, the knowledge, the solutions.
Trump repeatedly with great confidence and conviction said nothing of value. “I have a plan! A big plan! To use other people’s ideas for a good plan as I see fit” are the ramblings of a person who know little to nothing about the issues being discussed. On rape in the military “something has to be done” is not a solution, a plan nor evidence of competence as commander in chief.
Do any of you actually hear what this guy is saying? It is basically “blibbity blah bloop” with a lot of confidence. It is iof no value. Clinton absolutely showed her competence ability, knowledge, honesty and willingness to take responsibility for –look at the big picture— the very minor mistakes she has made. She won by a landslide.

Trump has loans from criminal elements in Russia and Manafort connections to the Ukraine their politics and shady multimillion dollar business deals and was sued for money laundering and scheming by the former prime minister of the Ukraine!
Trump has heavy loans from China!
Trumps opinions on women disrespectful comments and his misogynist attitudes and now acts like he’s going to solve the conflict with men and women in our military! As opposed to what Hillary would do being the first woman president!
Trump an unprepared uneducated uninformed totally unqualified person to be President! If by chance he does win ( OMFG!!! ) he will dole out the work to everyone else, and stay in Drumpf tower because the White House “isn’t up to his standards”.

If he wins the election, which I seriously doubt he will, much blame should be given to reporters who can only count the number of days since Hillary held a silly press conference and the email and Clinton Foundation non scandals.

It’s ironic that if Trump were Russian, and he were to praise Obama over Putin and criticize Putin at every turn, he would never be heard from or seen again. Maybe he should move to Russia and he could see first hand how wonderful it is there.

Putin did not use a word that means “intelligent” but merely “flamboyant”.
What Trump’s camp claims is “brilliant” is simply a bad translation.
Someone could curse Trump in other foreign languages and his staff would know nothing of it.
I consider Trump’s utterances all the odor and impact of «pet du rat».
