Good Monday Morning! And to my U.S. Readers: Happy Labor Day!

Keeping it light and low key today. Well maybe not low key…The first lady is rockin’ out with James Cordon of The Late Late Show, + Missy Elliott.

From the Huff Po. Watch it!

Michelle Obama Uses ‘Carpool Karaoke’ To Highlight Pressing Global Issue

In between belting Stevie Wonder, dancing to Beyoncé and delighting in a surprise appearance from Missy Elliott, first lady Michelle Obama brought up a serious message during her appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden”: the importance of educating girls around the world.

While participating in a “Carpool Karaoke” segment, Obama told the show’s host that she launched a Snapchat account to document her recent travel to Liberia, Morocco and Spain. The goal of the trip was to highlight her Let Girls Learn initiative, which she launched last year to educate more girls. Globally, more than 62 million girls are currently not in school.

“So much could be corrected in the world if girls were educated and had power over their lives,” Obama said. “My message to kids here is, don’t take your education for granted, because there are girls around the world who would die to get the education that we have. They would do anything. They would move mountains to make it happen. I want our girls and our boys here to be aware of it, I want them to come along on this trip with me, and Snapchat was a good way to hook them in.”

Through the Let Girls Learn, thousands of American Peace Corps members stationed across the globe now get training in gender and girls education. The program works with multiple government agencies and outside organizations to invest in and elevate programs that directly impact girls in at-risk areas.

The first lady wrote about the importance of the initiative in The Wall Street Journal last March.

“The research is unequivocal: Girls who attend secondary school marry and have children later, and they have lower maternal and infant-mortality rates and lower rates of HIV/AIDS,” Obama wrote at the time. “Every additional year of education can increase a girl’s earning power by 10% to 20%; and sending more girls to school can boost an entire country’s economy. National-security experts have even noted that educating women can be a powerful tool to fight extremism, violence and instability.”

🎶♀♡

Readers: I am soo going to miss our first lady. Michelle Obama is just the best FLOTUS. With over 46 million video views, I’d say she’s going to be missed by all. #LOVEHER.

Let Girls Learn:

Let Girls Learn is a United States government initiative to ensure adolescent girls get the education they deserve. Around the world, girls face complex physical, cultural, and financial barriers in accessing education. As a girl grows older the fight to get an education becomes even harder. Her family must be willing to pay school fees. She may have a long, unsafe walk to school. She may be forced to marry. And she often lacks the support she needs to learn.

Yet, we know that educating girls can transform lives, families, communities, and entire countries. When girls are educated, they lead healthier and more productive lives. They gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to break the cycle of poverty and help strengthen their societies. It’s time to Let Girls Learn.

Such a wonderful movement. If you want to learn more about Let Girls Learn, click here. If you want to get involved click here. Thank you Michelle Obama for all of your efforts in support of our girls!

Off to go play. I hope you are all doing the same!

Peace & Love.

Our father checks our hymen almost every day to ensure our value is still intact. I am kept to replace our mother who died in child birth. I serve my father and 3 brothers sexually. Please get us out of here.

How to Transform Your Diet for Rapid Weight Loss

    by Dr. David Williams

How to Transform Your Diet for Rapid Weight Loss
Learn which foods to eat and which to avoid if you want to effectively lose weight fast

Whether a rapid weight loss diet is low in carbs or high in protein, whether it comes from Hollywood or Scarsdale—they all have one thing in common: they don’t work for most people. Here’s why.

A diet that’s extremely low in calories makes your body think it is being starved. In response, your body reduces its basal metabolic rate (BMR), or the base amount of energy it burns for essential processes like breathing and generating body heat.

This drop happens very quickly, within the first day or so of a significant drop in caloric intake. The bottom line is that no matter how much you cut calories, your body will compensate by ratcheting down the number of calories it needs—so you don’t gain anything by eating less.

But it doesn’t end there. In addition to lowering your BMR, your body also begins storing any additional calories it receives over and above your new BMR in the form of fat.

This is a protective mechanism intended to help build up energy reserves. To store this extra fat, the body not only increases the size of existing fat cells, it also increases the number of fat cells you have.

Weight Loss Diet Changes That Maintain BMR

To lose weight effectively and without lowering your BMR, you need to eat certain foods regularly—and that includes fresh, wholesome, organic foods that have low glycemic index (GI) values. You also should be avoiding certain high-glycemic diet devastators, like sugar.

GI is a rating system that compares the way various foods influence your blood sugar levels. The scale runs from 0 to 100, with pure sugar, or glucose, rated at 100. The closer to 100 a food is rated, the more it affects blood sugar levels.

Eating high-quality, lower glycemic foods helps to keep your blood sugar levels stable and lessens cravings so you can lose weight. The following categories of food have lower GIs and should become staples in your diet because they provide solid nutrition and energy while supporting weight loss efforts.

    Whole Grains
    Vegetables
    Fruits
    Legumes
    Nuts
    Dairy
    Fish
    Poultry
    Lean Meat
    Whole grains

Whole grains contain fiber, protein, carbohydrates, and fats, as well as an abundance of vitamins and minerals. They are also an excellent source of lignans, which are plant chemicals that can naturally moderate your hormone levels and contribute to healthy weight loss.

    Vegetables

All vegetables have health benefits, but the one group of veggies that truly stands alone is cruciferous—broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, kale, bok choy, turnips, mustard greens, and rutabagas.

These vegetables are phytochemical powerhouses. Phytochemicals are chemical compounds in plants that protect them from the ravages of the environment, such as ultraviolet rays, oxygen, insects, and fungi.

    Fruits

Eat locally grown fruits in season whenever possible because they’ll have the most health-promoting antioxidants and vitamins. Dried or frozen fruits are another option, but stay away from canned fruit, which is usually loaded with sugar.

    Legumes

Legumes include beans and peas—like chickpeas, lentils, and navy beans. Legumes are a great source of protein, especially when combined with whole grains. They are also high in fiber, and their complex carbohydrates are broken down slowly in the body, which helps with blood sugar regulation.

    Nuts

Walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, macadamias, pecans, and Brazil nuts, in particular, are high in fiber and loaded with essential fatty acids—“good” fats that are packed with health benefits.

Eating nuts can improve your blood lipid profiles, reduce your risk of heart disease, ward off depression, and boost your weight loss efforts. In one diet study, when almonds were substituted for complex carbohydrates, weight loss increased and waist circumference decreased. Those eating three ounces of almonds a day for six months lost 18 percent of their body fat, compared to 11 percent in those eating complex carbohydrates.

    Dairy

An overabundance of dairy products are significant contributors to high cholesterol, heart disease, and even (ironically) bone loss. Also, many people have difficulty digesting dairy foods. But, if your system can handle dairy and you like it, you can add some dairy products judiciously to your eating plan. Make sure to also include soured milk products, like kefir and yogurt, which add all-important healthy bacteria to your digestive system.

    Fish

When it comes to high-quality protein, fish is near the top of the list. And fatty fish—like mackerel, lake trout, herring, sardines, albacore tuna, and salmon—are high in beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. Make sure the fish you eat is fresh-caught, not farmed. Farmed fish are fed on grains and grain byproducts, which drastically reduce their healthy fatty acid content.

    Poultry

If you prefer meat in your diet, then add the occasional poultry serving to your meal plan. Stick to free-range birds fed organic feed whenever possible. They’re not only healthier, but tastier, too.

    Lean Meat

Red meat offers protein and iron, it is also high in saturated fat. If you want to eat the occasional piece of red meat, stick to lean cuts of pork and beef from organic fed livestock.

  32. Dafne Says:

Michelle, even in Israel where women serve along side of men in combat we have a religious sect that uses god as the authority to make men our bosses.

Fuck that, I have a military rifle and I know how to use it

  33. Christine Says:

Women everywhere are being denied access to education so that men can sexually abuse them. Our entire history as women has been about denying us the knowledge about our bodies so that we will not desire what men will give their lives, reputation, and wealth for, sexual gratification.

Thank you Michelle for reminding us that what we don’t know Will definitely hurt us if men have anything to say about it.

  34. Zen Lill Says:

  36. Fembot Says:

I just say this. I’m outraged. This is NOT acceptable.
    —–
Heather Watson, a 32-year old mother and Baker County, Idaho, resident has been ordered to serve a 7-year prison sentence after receiving several indecent exposure citations for breastfeeding her 6 -month old daughter in public.

According to Heather’s husband, Rick Watson, his wife had received a total of 6 indecent exposure citations for breastfeeding their daughter Caylee in public. Heather most recently was arrested by officers at a nearby public park. According to police reports and statements from Watson, she had been sitting on bench supervising her 3 other children, age 2, 5, and 7, as they played with other children at the park when her baby become fussy and needed to be fed.

Idaho is currently the only state that has yet to pass a law allowing mothers to breastfeed in public without the consequences of indecent exposure. The only protection that nursing mothers have in Idaho is Jury Duty exemption. A Moveon.org petition was created by The Idaho Breastfeeding Law Coalition in effort to bring the state up to speed with the remainder of the states throughout the country that protect nursing mothers, however despite the petition’s 4,821 signatures, there is no indication that Idaho is anywhere close to passing new legislation.

In addition to serving a maximum 7-years in prison, because Watson was charged with multiple counts of indecent exposure, she will be required to register as a sex offender and will be placed on the National Sex Offender Registry.
