Wonderful Women Of The World

Good Sunday morning!

I have no idea how I found this Wonderful Woman of the World. Probably flying down a rabbit hole.

From WBEZ in Chicago:

One Block, Zero Shootings: How One Mom Is Building Community In Englewood

af5a8bfb-fb29-41c9-a2ae-f070a10139e7

Community members on the corner of 75th and Stewart in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood on a recent summer evening.

Last year, a woman was shot and killed on 75th and Stewart in Englewood. Most people have that moment when enough is enough. This was Tamar Manasseh’s.

Manasseh lives in Bronzeville, but she grew up in Englewood. Right after the murder, she decided to organize Mothers Against Senseless Killings, orĀ M.A.S.K.

It’s a mom patrol that camps out on the block of 75th and Stewart every summer afternoon into evening as a form of violence resistance. The moms wear hot pink shirts and black hats. R&B and hip hop music blast from speakers.

I visited the moms on a recent afternoon.Ā There’s a barbecue grill going and bottled water off to the side. Lawn chairs set up. A CTA bus whizzes by on 75th Street.

Around 5 p.m., it’s a peaceful summer scene in sweltering hot weather. The sun is far from setting.

This is Manasseh’s second summer on the block. She said coming out here daily restores her faith in a city that seems besieged by violence.

ā€œThis is the most uplifting thing going on in the city right now because you see all this negative stuff over and over again every day,ā€ Manasseh said. ā€œAnd I see it and I say I left 75th and Stewart and none of that was happening. I was in Englewood and none of that was happening. It really restores your hope in humanity.ā€

Manasseh said you can measure the success: first, by the crowds, which vary day to day but can number in the dozens. But there’s something else, too.

ā€œThis is not a dangerous corner to be on. It’s not like that anymore. [This was] one of the most dangerous corners in Englewood.ā€

According to police statistics, this summer the block hasn’t seen one shooting, although crime still happens in the area. Manasseh said she has no plans to stop coming out.

Tamar Manasseh walks down the street during a recent gathering. She started Mothers Against Senseless Killings last year to patrol the block of 75th and Stewart. (Andrew Gill/WBEZ)

ā€œThis isn’t just about stopping violence. It’s about building community,ā€ she said. ā€œYou want to know your neighbors. When you know your neighbors people don’t die. That’s how that works.ā€

The gathering is mostly children. They frolic outside and get a free dinner. This night it’s chicken, potatoes and broccoli wrapped in aluminum foil taken off the grill. There’s a side salad, too, that some of the kids turn their nose up at.

This and accusations of cheating at the beanbag toss game are the biggest sources of drama.

At least until recently.

Manasseh and the other mothers station themselves each day in the same spot in front of a large courtyard building.

Some of the children play in the courtyard as the moms set up on the sidewalk.

A group of kids line up for dessert as the sun starts to set. (Andrew Gill/WBEZ)

Recently, the owner, who doesn’t live in the building, told police he wants everything and everyone to move.

Perry Management Corporation owns and manages the property. A representative of Perry ManagementĀ told me they got reports that a cab driver and cable technician refused to come into the building because of the crowd.

I had to push back and say that’s just individuals’ own stereotyping. The gathering is lively but not negative.

But the representative said she wouldn’t want that type of gathering in front of her house.

Manasseh was called to the local police district, where she said she was told the moms had to leave that spot, but that they could move to the vacant lot across the street.

She was angry.

ā€œIt’s about the quality of the lives of the people in the community. Perry Management clearly doesn’t care about that,ā€ Manasseh said. ā€œBut there are lot of people who come into areas like this, they buy property dirt cheap and they really do exploit the residents in these areas because they feel these people can’t do any better. They aren’t going to say anything. They’re not going to complain. So they can get away with whatever they want to do. They can do whatever.ā€

So Chicago police brokered a compromise: they said the moms could finish out this summer season on the sidewalk, but next year they would have to move their summer festivities across the street, to a lot which they could purchase.

Manasseh said she had to promise the city, police department and the building owners she would never ever set up again in front of the 75th and Stewart courtyard building.

ā™€šŸ’ŖšŸ½āœŒšŸ½&ā™”

Readers: What an inspiring story about an amazing woman who truly cares about her community thriving and surviving. She’s keeping the streets safe and you’ve got idiots in her community, the owner, who is benefitting but doesn’t give a shit because he doesn’t live there, and he’s probably white. Really, there is nothing but positiveness about what is happening here.

Manasseh has transformed her community by committing to making her neighborhood a safe place. And this is the thanks she gets. It angers me too. I HOPE that she gets the funding or is able to raise it so that she can take purchase the lot next door and continue with her much needed cause.

I have a feeling that if this Wonderful Woman of the World can stop violence in her neighborhood with love, compassion, and her fierce drive and commitment to protect children, and uplift her community, she can do anything.

Perhaps, our beloved President Obama is reading and can lend a helping hand.

Ma Qin: How delightful. No doubt Zen Lill is smiling from ear to ear. Happy to hear you are well. :)Ā ZL: You have quite the loyal following!

Lois, Nadeen: Please spread the word. Thanks!

Sandra, et al: Made my day too. I confess it wasn’t my find – A friend sent it to me.

Hank, et al: Civics really needs to be taught well in our schools so that kids really learn. And the importance of it needs to be thoroughly stressed so that when they become voters they can make smart informed choices at the polls.

Carla: Wow. I haven’t heard from you and Jorge in a long time. I wasn’t sure you both were still reading. There have been a few comments from a “Carla” this year but wasn’t sure if it was you or not. Delighted that you are still here. I thought about you both from time to time. Happy to hear you are both happy. Did you enjoy the Summer Olympics?

Yeah…you were angry. I understand, I was too. No abandonment; just did what a girl needed to do. I’m sure you understand. Happy to be back though with my girlz and of course all the readers.

Thanks for the sweet thoughts and consideration. I am honored and I would if I could. :)

I read aboutĀ Rousseff. I am so sorry. I haven’t caught up on all the details yet, but yep, true – Men are devious and many more things too. I HOPEĀ it doesn’t happen to Clinton as well when she becomes Madam President. I’ll do my part. I hope everyone else does too. Thanks for saying hello. Please don’t be strangers here. My best and lots of love to you and Jorge. ā¤ļø

Alice: I’m so sorry to read your comment. That must be tough. I HOPE the big bro realizes his privileges and the blatant bias towards his little bro and is sticking up for him. Don’t regret your decision. I think both of your boys will be just fine, and together because of their differences, they can really do some great things. I don’t know…I sense a book being written.

That’s it for me today. The blog is open, again

PS: Ooops. If you caught a glimpse of my blog this morning, that was a mistake. I wasn’t finished yet. 😁 I set the write to post at 9:00 AM instead of 11:00 with the intent to wake up and complete it before 11. Oh well. You got a sneak peak at a work in progress. Kind of like a back stage pass only much less exciting. :)

Blog me.Ā

Happy Sunday!

Peace & Love. šŸ’œ

You are one sick some of a bitch. Then again what can one expect from a hypocrite claiming to be a christian.

  2. Claire Says:

Fembot Says: “…and utah last, where scores of women are forced via religion to share one man, but have no entitlement to flipping the gender equation on that marriage arrangment.”

What do you expect from a male controlled country? They know that mormonism is a cult devised to enslave women by limiting their education to keep them ignorant to their rights.

The national legislatures that come from that state are disgusting pedophiles who laugh at the justice system because they have engineered an entire state to use as their sexual playground.

  3. Dale Says:

Perry#38, tell the christians in the path of Hermine that its ok to touch downed power lines and drive in the flooding because jesus christ will protect them. See how that works out.

  4. Carla Says:

Michelle, the Olympics was great for those with the money. It was not so good for the those without. Crime was at an all time high and drugs just got worse.

Jorge, makes a lot of money now. He has put us in the top echelon of the wealthy here. Don’t ask. But he hates what has happened to our country. It is for sale to the highest bidder.

The environment is for sale and hence the rain forest is being destroyed at an alarming level. The police murder squads are killing abandoned children at will. We find their bodies all over the place.

Brazil is just a pay-to-play country.

I fully understand your decision, we as a family had to make some tough decisions for our survival. Thankfully Jorge was able to make them for us.

I usually take the lead on family decisions but this one required the use of the kind of violence I am not capable of. Thankfully Jorge has no such inhibitions.

I have been keeping this inside for a while I hope it doesn’t gross you out. Your blog helps because it reminds us that others have to deal with the greed of the rich and the ramifications of that greed too.

  5. Hank Says:

Perry you had it right. Hopefully a lot of liberal animals die in Hermine’s wake.

  6. Mervin Says:

from Earthquake to hurricane and tornadoes and brush fires,,, when you mock God and play global warming and fracking and approved LGBT and abortion, His wrath will not stop and only pain and sorrows will follow you all your lives.

This blog does all those things.

  7. Eric Says:

Mervin#6, JESUS CHRIST LIVES IN MY COLON

  8. Tina Says:

Does anyone know the pronunciation of “Hermine”? I have heard several, including “are-main”.

  9. Craig Says:

Michelle, what a waste of time. Who cares about a bunch of niggers.

  10. Abraham Says:

    Tina#8, Her-Mi-ne

  11. Shelly Says:

I have never met a liberal that can justify the air they consume

  12. Neil Says:

Praise Hermine. Praise Her. My strength and my redeemer.

Glory be to Hermine and to the holy fallout as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

    Amen Amen Amen Amen

Almighty and everlasting Hermine, who came down among us to make heaven under Earth, lighten our darkness. Oh Instrument of God, grant us Thy peace.
Almighty Hermine Who destroyed all liberals And created angels Behold her glory

  13. Tina Says:

Abraham#10, That’s what I thought. News people never say it that way.

  14. James Says:

    Wouldn’t it be “er-MI- ne” ?

  15. Miller Says:

    Tina#8, It’s He-Mine. The “r” be silent.

  16. Neil Says:

God does work in mysterious ways. At least some of the hispanics and blacks in the path of the storm will get that long awaited and long needed bath.

  17. Ted Says:

Pray for the God fearing people on the East coast. It’s the coast where people who work for a living are..If it hit the west coast..who care’s. We just loose some tree huggers.

  18. Tina Says:

James#14, Apparently some think the H is silent, and the vowels are pronounced like other vowels.

  19. Ira Says:

The hurricane will cause power outages. Air conditioners will not work. Global warming will end. So there will be no more hurricanes. The polar bears will be saved. God works in mysterious ways.

  20. Barry Says:

With any luck at all, the hurricane will leave our national monuments intact, but wipe the rest of Washington DC off the map.

    Goodbye, niggers

  21. Vivian Says:

Wow!, sometimes Michelle, I wish you would censor some if these sick racist bastards.

  22. Olga Says:

Hatred is a heavy burden to carry. I feel sorry for conservatives. Even a weather story brings out hatred and racism, so sad.

  23. Alycedale Says:

Vivian#21, I’m certain you mean well, but Michelle should start censoring. It is a good thing that people learn what is in the hearts and minds of others.

That means the good and the bad.

  24. Owen Says:

    Nothing angrier than a Liberal.

Of course, having Hillary as a candidate explains that.

  25. Sam Says:

If Hermine swept the White House with the Obama’s in it out to sea, the loss would be a gain for America.

  26. Noah Says:

I agree with you Alycedale#23, the world needs to know that sick bastards like these racists exist amongst us.

  27. Theo Says:

Sam#25, Most Americans disagree. With Obama’s popularity he’d win a third term if he could run.

  28. Ollie Says:

A hurricane story, time for conservatives to spew hatred and racism. So pathetic.

  29. James Says:

How is there any money for Federal Disaster Assistance when Obama is spending it all to bring Middle-Easters here that hate us and give them welfare?

  30. Thelma Says:

James#29, Take a civics class, or pay attention when your blog hostess is giving you one. Federal monies are budgeted by Congress. For specific purposes. It’s not a general fund.

  31. Scott Says:

Thelma#30, So the 400+million ransom money came from which fund.

  32. Thelma Says:

Scott#31, Money we owed Iran. No one disputes that. It’s their money.

  33. Molly Says:

    Thelma#32, We owed Iran nothing!

  34. Rutger Says:

No hurricane will do as much Damage to America as Hillary Clinton would do.

  35. Thelma Says:

Molly#33, Claims who? Other than the alt right. Even the GOP agrees we owe them money – it’s theirs – money we seized or was awarded them by international agreement and courts.

  36. Ellen Says:

Rutger#34, Your opinion. More Americans hold a differing opinion than agree with you.

  37. Ryan Says:

Ellen#36, So you support criminals?? Can’t believe you’d want to put a criminal in charge of your future!!??

  38. Ellen Says:

Ryan#37, Since she hasn’t been proven to have committed any crimes….yes, she used bad judgement about the whole situation.

I’m not falling for the email hype. Clinton is the better of the two candidates. If it was almost anyone but Trump as the GOP nominee, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. She’s the lesser of two evils.

  39. Donald Says:

Has our ape in chief left his golf course yet?

  40. Molly Says:

Ellen#38, Er, no! What part of “careless disregard” did you not understand?

  41. Stark Says:

Donald#39, he will once the wind picks up. He has a beer summit to go to.

  42. Alycedale Says:

    It’s Sunday.

    Obama is president.

    Life is good.

  43. Thelma Says:

    Molly#40, Is that a crime?

What part of “she hasn’t been convicted of any crimes” did you not understand?

  44. A Concerned Jew Says:

This can only happen to the Jewish People. We are not considered real people to most of the world — we are considered “low lifes” that should be wiped out like a disease.

They do not realize how much Jews had to do with the world becoming civilized and creating laws to live by to keep Humans above mere animals which have no guidelines to follow. They also forget that Jesus was Jewish and he is the Son of God to all Christians.

He was good enough to fill the role of Messiah and Son of God, yet he was a Rabbi who was taken to the cross during a Passover Seder which is a Jewish ceremony.

Humans forget things when it is convenient. That is what all problems stem from . . . history repeats itself because Humans forget so quickly.

It certainly is disgusting. If it were any other religion, Facebook would have intervened and removed the crap which incites hatred and murder of a Nation of People worldwide.

  45. Lloyd Says:

Concerned Jew, I agree. We should all voice our concerns about this kind of hatred.

  46. Zen Lill Says:

I luv it, leave it to a woman to create community…I hope she gets the funding to get the parcel across the street to make it happen.

…and I see it’s off to the races with the racists here, seriously, I’m all for reincarnation, because I want all men to come back as a woman, and esp all outspoken white males to come back as a minority woman, guess you’d be a whole lot more empathetic to almost everything then, now would’nt you?

…you spout your BS bc you don’t ever even have to cop to white privilege….even I do that, I know I automatically get preferential treatment as a white woman in many situations, and awarded an extra heap of ‘how can I help you’ just for being tall and blonde, I acknowledge it, why can’t you?

Mischa, grinning ear to ear sounds like fun and I’ll do that as soon as I’m done being jaw dropped gobsmacked, lol…you have made it so, commander, so I thank you.

…and I thank MaQin, Leondrea and Lien-hua for clarifying…and to Zenlillies of Paris and Les Filles de Zen Lill of Marseille…

Lien-hua, while I can understand the thought process of creating characters for entertainment and engagement factors, I can only say I know Doug, AL & Howie, and myself are real, so Darcie was correct. I assume Alycedale and /SB are are as well, MIke TM I assume is Anonz’s mouth piece (and ear piece) here since he’s usually off somewhere saving the world from itself. Mischa is for sure is real.

I’m amazed and yet I want no one to feel slighted, ever, send in the 228 other names and I’ll be happy to reach out here (and add them to my private notebook. I wrote each name in my writing yesterday so as not to forget each one and bc writing out names keeps you real to me)…

#28 Olllie, yes, correct, pathetic, agreed.

#44 ACJ humans forget easily, too true. It is our downfall and unfortunately, the Jewish peoples’ fallout.

    But… Hmmm let’s see….some accomplishments people seem to forget…
the great thinkers: Albert Einstein, Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, all jews…
not to mention YOUR health, here’s the science and medical info: Jonas Salk created the first polio vaccine, Dr. Abraham Waksman coined the term antibiotics, Casmir Funk, a Polish Jew, pioneered a new field of medical research “vitamins.”, Dr. Simon Baruch performed the first successful operation for appendicitis., Dr. Paul “Magic Bullet” Ehrlich won the Nobel Prize in 1908 for curing syphilis., Dr. Abraham Jacobi is considered America’s father of pediatrics., Dr. Albert Sabin developed the first oral polio vaccine, and jews have gven much more in business and finance worlds 9* my #1 theory about why jews are ā€˜hated’ so much, they are very good at business/finance) and the list of accomplishments goes on…
Jealousy creates a lot of hatred and criticism.

I wish Facebook could help you. Mark Zuckerberg could be open to helping you with that cause.

    Luv, Zen Lill

  47. Vincent Says:

Concerned Jew, facebook should be taken to task for allowing hate speech to proliferate in its online community.

  48. Ben Says:

get real cryfags you mock jesus you mock Christians But Noooo not the Jews Get real who cares you put porn everywhere but don’t tell the truth & insult the jews Get real jews

  49. Norman Says:

    Concerned jew,
Instead of trying to regulate FB, just let it be but don’t use it. FB is not a good place anymore, we just need to let go of our addiction to it. Spend you precious time elsewhere. It is the best protest ever.

FB leadership will need to make a choice and decide if what they really want is a reputation of the ā€œhost of hatersā€. Free market will do it’s job if we let it. There are people out there who are smarter and richer than Mr Zuckerberg.

Someone will create a better social network that will be actually usable and fun. It is just a matter of time. It happens to everything and to everyone. It will happen to Zuckerberg too. He made FB for money, nothing else. So the very thing that made FB possible, will kill it. It a law of the free market.

Unregulated markets work just like jungle. As long as there is a bigger animal around, the smaller and weaker ones are doomed – sooner ot later. Once the animal becomes a host of too many parazites, the animal is weakened. Hates are the parasites – they will either kill FB or be eliminated

  50. Sam Says:

Norman#495, Where is this elsewhere? Most of these services started in the Bush era when the economy was good and new things were being tried.

FB was originally a garage project and now it’s a big monolithic Jewish ran organization and we need a HUGE cleansing.

I pray to Mother Earth that the Jews either shape up or ship out.

  51. Wayne Says:

I hope you have thick skin, Mr Zuckerberg, because there is a sizable campaign out to defame you – on your very own social media website.

Given that you have a high profile, it is expected to come with the territory that you’ll be on the receiving end of a number of unjustifiable attacks. And for that reason (amongst many others) some reading will completely (and deliberately) miss the points that I am making by writing this.

But being a high profile character is no excuse whatsoever to be misrepresented and attacked in such a manner as I and many thousands of others have observed.

However, of course,I am not talking about pages which occasionally grumble about unwanted or misunderstood changes to Facebook. I am not even speaking of those who convey their strongly held disagreements with you and your policies via satirical means. People are still by and large entitled to exercise their freedom of speech whether it be factual or not.

What I am referring to is an open, unwarranted and deliberately cruel and inhumane attack on you, your character and everything you believe and stand for on a personal level and they are flaunting it on your site in the belief that you will do nothing about it in spite of your stand against such behavior.

There is a semi-organised yet exponentially growing and influential network of people who not only disagree with you- they hate and utterly loathe you and will not hold back from proselytizing that sentiment.

In fact, that is the stated purpose of many of these pages in their ā€˜about’ section or even as the title of their pages themselves! From the pedestrian ā€˜I hate Mark Zuckerburg’ to the more colourful ā€˜Mark Zuckerburg, son of a slut should be raped and die’ these pages only exist to bring misery to you and those who care about you.

I am confident that you would agree that such pages are not covered under ā€˜freedom of speech’ and as such have no place here.

I realise that the above are bad enough, but sadly, it gets much, much, much worse- many going into sordid and pornographic detail.

Furthermore, I regret to inform you (if you weren’t already aware) that many hundreds if not many thousands are not content in creating vile communities of libelous and deceitful defamatory debauchery. They are targeting your friends and family.

These same people have gone out of their way to learn who likes your page and ā€˜troll’ them. Of course in the past, it was a simple matter to block them, but now they are exploiting a simple yet gaping loophole in your attempts to eliminate hate speech: the ā€˜like’ system.

As long as they do not post anything, they can create the most horrific names and display them for all to see without fear of repercussion with a single click of a mouse…and they often do it to each and every post on a page.

By now, many readers must be wondering how this could be, considering all the time and effort you and your team have put into your ā€˜reporting’ system in recent history. Again, I regret to inform you that a good number of those whom you have employed to handle these reports don’t do their job- at least consistently:

Even when a page unequivocally states that its very purpose is to ā€œhateā€ and malign Mark Zuckerburg and its content reflects this in no uncertain terms – if and when reported, this isn’t always considered ā€œhate speechā€, according to the official Facebook feedback.

Even when a page is explicitly pornographic, detailing lewd and perverse sexual situations that they imagine doing to Mark Zuckerburg – if and when reported, this isn’t considered pornographic according to the official Facebook feedback.

Even when threats of violence or even death against Mark Zuckerburg or your followers are displayed textually or graphically as the very theme of their page – this, too, for an inexplicable reason is not considered to be a violation of the Facebook terms of service.

For that matter, the question is begged why a page entitled ā€œMark Zuckerburg should have been aborted with a rusty clothes hangerā€does not register as being an example of abusive spam when it ā€˜likes’ every post on a page called ā€˜The Mark Zuckerburg Appreciation Societyā€?

For some who have read this far, this is news for them and simply won’t believe that this is true. After all, this kind of deviant, anti-social behaviour is clearly antithetical to the purpose of Facebook and as such would never, ever be allowed- especially to someone who is respected as much as Mark Zuckerberg on his own website.

To those, I would respond: do a Facebook search for yourselves- if you can stomach the content- even a simple investigation will yield many more than you would have imagined and they have been active and spreading like a malignant tumor for a number of years without concern of being shut down.

One last caveat however: when you search for these flagrant hate pages which are clearly in violation of the Facebook Terms of Service – change Mark Zuckerburg to Jesus Christ.

  52. Dafne Says:

Concerned Jew, WHY WASTE TIME OBJECTING TO FACEBOOK HATE?

ZUCKERBERG TOSSED HIS JUDAISM LONG AGO, MARRIED OUT, WENT PUBLIC AND WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT?

A PERFECT FORUM FOR JEW HATRED TO BE SPEWED DAILY UNDER SO-CALLED U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTIONS.

  53. Andrei Says:

Could the reason be that Zuckerman doesn’t want to be considered too ā€œJewishā€? So, like the Hollywood Jewish moguls of the 30’s and 40’s, who shied away from condemning Nazism, Zuckerman wants FB to maintain an appearance of ā€œimpartialityā€. If that is the case, FU!, Zuckerman.

  54. Linda Says:

Concerned Jew, We all should object to anti-Jewish groups and Muslims who attack Israel’s existence or who assert Jews are evil.

  55. Blake Says:

I agree with you Concerned Jew. The facebook is full of terrible the double standards when it concerns slandering the Jews … The same thing happens on YouTube.

I’ve started making videos combating all the hate. Most Jews will look the other way from what anti-Jews say, but if someone who is not educated reads the stuff these haters post, it may get them to start thinking all the lies as well.

  56. Jessica Says:

Well done Concerned Jew bringing attention to the need for FB to take down hate speech pages. There are so many haters who make the same claims on Israeli online FB pages and no matter how horrible their posts are (Israel should be annihilated, etc) FB rarely removes their comments no matter how many times they get reported.

  57. Josephine Says:

Let’s get this in perspective, hate postings against individuals and groups in the social media is the new sport for psychopaths.

Governments all across the world (including the USA where the First Amendment is misinterpreted and abuses) must take immediate action. In a recent TV programme in the UK, a reporter questioned an (anonymous) hate-mailer who enjoys insulting and denigrating people he has never met.

It was chilling. There have been suicides of young people in the UK who were targeted with hate messages, how can governments stand by and allow this to happen?

  58. Sandy Says:

Concerned Jew none one of this surprises me! Yahoo has the same if there is a story on the Middle East. I made a complaint to Yahoo through a friend in LA and that seemed to help at the time. But it seems to be everywhere.

But if you make a comment about Muslims, they get up in arms about it. And they feel so hurt! Especially in the UK where I live. We are not allowed to be be racist towards them but it is OK to slag off the Jews, the Christians, et al, over here.

There is that Muslin woman in London at the mo who has been told to take her veil off in Court. If she wants to keep it on, then go back to the Middle East. That is what I think.

  59. Tarik Says:

All humans, regardless, of religion, ethnicity, race, etc., are so egotistical to thank that any one group or person is better than another.

Bottom line of all of this ranker and hatred boils down to this, if we were so different from one another, we would never be able to conceive and have children together.

  60. Fred Says:

Is Mark Zuckerberg Jewish ??? How could he stand by betraying his own people by doing nothing about the untrammelled hate mongering on Facebook.

Surely as he invented & conducts Facebook the must be some mechanism to delete the hate messages like they would child pornography.

  61. Debra Says:

Please Concerned Jew tell us how to make our voices heard.

  62. Wallace Says:

Someone ought to publish The Protocols of the Elders of Islam which can be found in the Project document found at a villa in Campione Switzerland by Swiss authorities not long after 9/11 and from the document submitted in the Holy Land terrorist financing case entitled ā€œAn Explanatory Memorandum On the General Strategic Goal for the Group In North Americaā€ The group is the Ikwhan or the Muslim Brotherhood.

This is their strategic goal in their own words: ā€œtheir work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ā€˜sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.ā€

The Project Document sets up a one hundred year plan for world domination by the Muslim Brothers.

  64. Efram Says:

Concerned Jew, Zuckerberg is the archtypical self-hating anti-Semitic Jew. What do you expect? Vermin such as he infest the darker and evil regions of this world.

It would be a simple thing for him to stop this, but he does not want to. He takes some sick perverse pleasure in seeing Jews, and only Jews, denigrated, hated, libeled; and would undoubtedly rejoice at Israel’s destruction, G-d forbid.

It is a pity that so many sub-human examples of excrement, such as the low life Zuckerbergs, continue to thrive in this world.

  65. Hanna Says:

Efram#64Unfortunately Zuckerberg is not the only one. He is not self-hating, only one of the intellectuals who wants to be popular. Sadly, there is Jew and Israel-bashing in the air (instead of love).

  66. Jon Says:

Funny thing is, those like Zuckerberg miss the point.

When the Nazis, or their present-day incarnations, come for the Jews, it won’t be Zuckerberg who decides whether or not he’s Jewish – it’ll be the Nazis.

Many wealthy and influential assimilated and self-denying Jews in pre-war Germany learned this the hard way and paid the ultimate price for their complacency.

  67. Anonymous Says:

WRONG, MEANING JEWS PLAY GAME OF CHESS ON GLOBAL SCALE, WHERE they SOMETIMES USE EACH OTHER AS PAWN[S] TO SACRIFICE: WHY ? DISTRACTION, SO THAT THEIR PREY OR VICTIMS DO NOT FIGURE OUT THEIR GOAL: 2 TEST U. 2 TEST WHAT ABOUT U ? 2 TEST YUR COMMON SENSE 2 FIGURE OUT OBVIOUS.

  68. Max Says:

It is not possible to hate Jews but love Jesus. Jesus was a circumcised and bar mitzvahd Jew. He preached love of neighbor just as love of self.

But when he, together with his disciples armed with whips, broke the law by attacking the money changers, he was arrested and put on trial.

He then insulted the court by refusing to speak in his own defense, and only then was he turned over to the Romans. No one, not even his disciples, thought at that time that Jesus was a God, or the son of God.

Hating Jews must include the people who conceived him and educated him, and Jesus, as well.

  69. Lisa Says:

it’s so sad that people want to hate that little small land and it’s people. they’re a blessed nation and people because they’re god’s chosssen.

We have the same privileges and promises as them if we would choose to except his son jesus christ as our lord and saviour.poor little country i stand and pray dailey for isreal.

  70. Jullian Says:

The only really effective means of dealing with these problems is to be beyond reproach. Antisemitism makes this very difficult. But there are areas that the Jewish people could address physically and culturally.

One is the impenetrability of the religious divide on the Judaic side – the historical tradition of non recognition of converts. Hardly any other religion imposes this, and it is percieved as racist.

Thus when the public percieves a discrepancy between muslim and Judaic standards of living in and around Israel ,they also see an impenetrable racist barrier, and they simply do not understand it.

Another is Israeli and Jewish closeness to the Conservative Right in politics. Israel was once regarded as a shining light in the area of progressive social change. That perception is largely lost

The third is the settlements – disapproved of internationally from grass roots to UN level

These are issues for the Israeli and Jewish people to think about. Many of your friends worry about the company you are keeping, and ultimately that is what much of the Facebook disapproval is based on.

If I were to make a suggestion as to how you might proceed it is to re-examine the very core of your culture – a Reformation in fact.

And perhaps only a non-Jew would be cheeky enough to suggest it, it is time for a new Talmud – an assemblage of recent and progressive writings, a reopening of the basic theological debate.

A more open and accessible Judaism might well find an echo in the will of others to help protect the peace and the friendship we all crave. Judaism is one of the sources from which western society has evolved, together with Greek philosophy, Roman Law, the Enlightenment, the modern social democratic movement. And yet access is largely shut off to that source that underlies both Christianity and Islam.

You can view the challenges in many ways and they are indeed diverse. But one of them is the desire of peoples to be one humanity, and not many.

This is the voice that is needed to drown out those other voices. Censureship alon, albeit desireable will do little but provide another target for unthining prejudice and rage.

  71. Paul Says:

Lisa#69, Thank you so much for your prayers & sentiment.

Exodus 4:22 ā€œThen you shall say to Pharaoh, ā€˜Thus says the Lord, ā€œIsrael is My son, My firstborn.ā€

  72. Caroline Says:

Julllian#70, Interesting perspective. What would you have advised the Jews of 1930s Europe do to prevent being the targets of prejudice and rage? Convert?

Abandon their businesses among non-Jews? Stop intermarriages? Would that have accomplished the goal of being ā€œbeyond reproach?ā€

Got news for you: converts, intermarried, forsaking businesses, integrating, keeping to ourselves, fighting back, being humble – none of it worked!

While ā€œJudaism may be one of the sources from which Western society has evolved,ā€ anti-Semitism from Western society is one of the sources from which modern Israel has evolved.

And for your additional info, identification with conservatism has much more to do with the efforts of the political right than those initiated by Jews, but should this matter, really?

Political position is now a justification for hatred? Are you telling us it’s time to ā€œbehaveā€ ourselves to avoid our victimization? Not only are you woefully misinformed, your cheekiness is downright disgusting.

  73. Ron Says:

Concerned Jew, People hate mostly for one simple reason – It makes them feel as though they are superior to whatever it is that they hate.

Also, early education plays a role, and something that is taught in early childhood is rarely questioned. Instead, it is believed to be truth.
