Was I not just talking about this the other day?
Here’s an e-mail that I just received yesterday. I encourage all of you women out there to support women more than you ever have before (Men too!) – And the Supreme Court is a good place to start. There is presently only one woman, and Supreme Court, Justice Ginsburg is ‘lonely’ – Let’s stop complaining about our system and take more control. Help get another woman into the Supreme Court…after all Ginsburg needs some company.

Women make up 51% of our nation’s population. (See, I wasn’t making it up:)
Yet only 17% of the seats in Congress are held by women. Only 3% of corporate CEOs are women. And just one out of nine Supreme Court justices is a woman. (Oh this is really sad. We need to get on it!)
President Obama can change that. (Oh yes he can – but not without our help!)
Since Sandra Day O’Connor‘s retirement from the Supreme Court four years ago, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been the sole female Justice.
Now, with Justice Souter’s recent retirement announcement, President Obama has a chance to nominate an intelligent, well-qualified person to the Supreme Court — and I believe that person should be a woman. (Me too! Me too!)
We need a Supreme Court that is more representative of all Americans, so that its decisions better reflect the diversity of life experiences and points-of-view in America. (Gee, do ya think?! Yeah!)
Last Tuesday afternoon, I had the chance to talk with Ed Schultz on MSNBC about why I think it’s so important that President Obama nominate a woman. I told him exactly what I told you: In a country where women comprise 51% of the population, yet only one-in-nine current Supreme Court Justices are female, the court needs to better represent the diversity of this country. In short, the Court needs another woman. (I’m with ya…keep going!)
However, as I told Ed, of course that’s not the whole story. Just any woman won’t do. (Boy don’t we know this – Palin proved this point big time) The next Justice needs to be smart, well-qualified, and a strong progressive voice. (A woman of mettle in my mind :) And there are plenty of women who meet those criteria. (But, of course!)
As Justice Ginsburg has said, there are certain intrinsic insights a woman, as a woman, brings to the bench. If we want a Supreme Court that is truly relevant to Americans, then those views and life experiences must be represented. (So true – you go girl….tell ‘em how it is!)
When asked recently how it felt to be the only woman on the Supreme Court, Justice Ginsburg simply replied, “Lonely.” (Ahh…we need some sisterhood happening in our government big time!)
It’s time to change that. (Yes! Yes! Time for change!)

Yes...’Says’ said a lot and much I agree with too – he/she made some very valid points and pointed out some pretty strong facts. And I agree, the repugnicants love to distract but I think the American people are onto their games more so than ever before. The Grand ‘Ol Party is ending, the players are tired and there’s no party favors left to hand out…Or is it just my wishful thinking?

When you said, “Don’t count on bush, cheney, or any of the administration’s other criminals serving any time either. Consider, if a Supreme Court justice feels secure enough to steal an election that results in bush being made President by his ruling, then is there any ruling he would not feel secure making to achieve a situation that he wanted.”, you hit the nail on the head. There is nothing bigger than stealing a presidential election – everything after that is really a piece of cake. But the games have got to end. And in light of my write today…Like you said, we need to appoint judges that will empathize with the spirit of the law as well as the letter.

Hi Mischa, excellent write today, thank you for doing this bc now it is done, I emailed my edited version of your letter already and forwarded the email that follows to all the females and astute males (real men) in my address book. So – done : ) and let’s hope Obama does the right thing.
Yep, that day rolled around and while I knew it would likely be a drag, I didn’t expect it to leave me so silent. Several concurrent occurences were at play though, I also went into full mourning mode due a friends’ parent being very ill, he’d asked me many q’s re: the days, weeks, months leading up to my own father’s death. It was interesting, not sure I’d ever had that convo before and at the time I thought – great, I can finally tell it without wanting to cry – but uh, let’s say it didn’t help the general mood, I was also researching the women around the world details and trust me that is horrifying (and there is way more to come on that subject, Obama ands everyone else is getting no rest!) and then that date, but it’s ok, I am as emotionally and spiritually resilient as they come : ) would love to talk to you anyway, and soon, so much more going on than just that…I love learning my life lessons, now if I can stay alert and pay attention so I don’t have to repeat them : )
On a lighter note, saw the Star Trek movie – twice – we had an earthquake 15 minutes before it ended, everyone ran out except a huge black man and me, then they threw us out and I had to see it in full again, it was alright with me, bc the eye candy is just as good as the movie, Chris Fine is exactly that : ) ooowww! & he’s on the cover of Men’s Health – oh Lord. But, all 3 of em’ – Kirk – Spock – & McCoy – mmm, it’s an extravaganza! I want to go into deep space NOW!

Guam- For several weeks now, all inbound passengers coming from the Asian region to Guam are being subjected to 100% inspection checks at the Guam International Airport.
Customs & Quarantine Director Dennis Santo Tomas says documented evidence shows a 25% increase in illegal items coming into the island than in previous years. He mentions that narcotics, weapons and agricultural items are associated with the rise in contraband. Santo Tomas doesn’t know when the 100% inspections will end, but says the agency is hoping to repair scanning devices and acquire new ones to augment the efficiency of those inspections. He asks for the community’s patience in the inspections because the agency is trying to keep Guam safe.??Santo Tomas adds the new scanners will most likely be federally funded and will assist in detecting metal objects, liquids and unusual cargo from Guam’s ports of entry

FEELING GUILTY ABOUT CARB INTAKE? WALK TRIGLYCERIDES AWAY
Not that I advocate throwing caution to the wind… but if you absolutely must indulge in that big pasta dinner, make a point of taking a walk before or afterward. A new study conducted at Loughborough University in Leicestershire, United Kingdom, indicates that walking at a brisk pace for a half hour may be just what you need to offset the carbohydrate kick to your cholesterol profile.
DAILY EXERCISE & TRIGLYCERIDES
The study examined whether daily exercise can reduce triglycerides in the blood, which rise along with the dietary ratio of carbohydrates to fat. The research was motivated by a public health movement in the UK encouraging people to alter their diet from their current typical caloric intake of 40% fats, 45% carbohydrates and 15% protein… to 30% fats and 55% carbs, leaving the protein at the same 15% level. Reducing fat is good, of course, but the problem is, when the ratio of carbohydrates to fats in the diet goes up, it raises triglycerides (also called triacylglycerol or TAG), especially immediately following a meal. According to study coauthor David Stensel, PhD, senior lecturer in Sports and Exercise Sciences at Loughborough, “This may negate the claimed cholesterol-lowering benefits, since elevated triacylglycerol concentration after meals is a risk factor for heart disease.”
Researchers recruited 14 study participants (male and female) between the ages of 45 and 65 with no history of heart disease or metabolic disorder, who were not taking cholesterol medication. None engaged in regular vigorous exercise and the women were all post-menopausal.
Each subject rotated through three four-day trials of different diets: the standard UK diet… the new “recommended” UK diet… and the recommended UK diet plus daily exercise. During the “recommended diet plus exercise” phase, subjects made daily lab visits at their own convenience for a 30-minute walk on a treadmill at a self-selected brisk pace (averaging about four miles per hour). The other phases did not include any exercise, beyond that inherent in daily living activities. On the last day of each phase, all subjects came to the laboratory and spent a day resting, eating meals of the type they were assigned at the time, and having periodic measurements taken of their resting respiration and metabolism and blood samples drawn to assess overall impact on cholesterol and TAG levels.
WALK IT OFF
As expected, TAG concentrations did rise after meals for both phases with the changed diet, but especially in connection with the higher carbohydrate diet. The good news was adding exercise offset the carbohydrate-linked rise in TAG levels.
It is ironic that a diet that is better for you because of the lower proportion of fats can also pose a problem, says Dr. Stensel. But this study shows that 30 minutes of brisk walking every day can fix the problem of the higher TAG levels typically associated with added carbohydrates. So if you are going to eat those carbs, make it a point to step up that stroll.

I just made it to earth. I like it so far. My name is Tony. It is an earth name. I have not spent much time in the simulator. I prefer to learn as Adam suggested, from the indigents.
Zen Lill, I am going to attend the Star Trek movie. I would like to do it with a human. This will be my first attempt at viewing your celluloid in a dark room.
Azza lost contact with us about a week ago. So I have decided to take the risk and visit earth. I want to see what your mothers are like. How you communicate with your child. On my planet we have no fathers, it is a unisex planet. Mothers who give birth to males are isolated until the child has reached maturity. It seems that they are afraid that she will give birth to more.
Men had practically destroyed our planet I am told so they were banished to planet that was adapted to be able to support their life forms. I will go their when I reach maturity in 783, 000 of your earth years.
My mother committed me to the Emperor’s care because he promised to change the policy of exiling the males on her planet. I was to be the prototype to show the females of my planet that we male could learn to be socially responsible.
But now I am with Azza. I love her because she is wonderful. That means good in everyway. She allows me to maintain an open dialogue with my mother. We miss each other because we are all we have. My mother’s planet will not allow her to have any more children because she gave birth to a male. Mothers on my planet usually birth 21 children during their fertility period.
I miss the warmth of her presence. Azza was always around to provide that warmth. But now that she is gone, I am lonely in a way that only Adam seems to understand. I seem to have become useless in the intellect response department. That would be the role I am to fill up here. They ask me questions and provide the answers.
I had been working on the code the Emperor is using to maintain entry and exit through the web. But lately my mind involuntarily continues to drift back to my mother. I miss her.
Adam suggested that I come to earth with him. The others objected so I remained up here. But now some have relented and said that I could go down, but not with Adam. I hesitated because I wanted to be with someone who understands my mother.
I am going down because I know that Adam is down there and he will find me. My mother said that she knows that I will be okay. So hello earthlings. I can’t wait to see your mothers.
Zen Lill, you are a mother and a girlz, i would be delighted if you would take me to see Star Trek. I don’t yet know where Los Angeles is, I hope it wasn’t the place I tried to enter and shook up. I am adjusting the lander that I am using to enter the coordinates inputed.
As I said before because of my missing my mother, my usual intellectual smarts is a bit impaired. I hope Adam will help me adjust this lander. It can cause your underground plates to shift if not adjusted properly as it approaches atmospheric cloaking.
I am not up on who is real or who is clone. So if you are clone Zen Lill, I will understand your reluctance to see me. Even if you aren’t I know that mothers have much time to be with their child.
I have adjusted to my suit. So I will start again on entry. If you feel the shake in the next 6 hours it will be me unless someone shows me how to adjust the lander.

I do have a q based on watching that movie, when one ship enters a black hole and the other one enters seconds later, the first ship experienced a 25 earth year delay, and for the second ship it felt like seconds, is that just normal occurence of ‘time’ out there? How extraordinary, wild and cool that very thought is…if you could elaborate on that time travel phenomena I would love to hear a story…you know, when you’re done reprimanding Tony. Seems he could use some ‘tough love’ learning/discipline/mothering, send him over : ) I can handle it.

I am watching The Ed Show. Ron Paul was ranting and raving about the constitution and the rule o law. I for one am tired of white men pontificating about “constitution,” and the “Rule of Law.”
Where was their concern about the Constitution and the Rule of Law when they were illegally putting american Japanese citizens into concentration camps without due process. Where were the good justices on the Supreme Court bench who winked at their incarceration.
Where were these fanatics when they were enacting Jim Crow laws to keep the OTWs out of opportunities to share in our “Constitution” and “Rule of Law” protections? They were busy giving themselves Affirmative Action benefits
Where were these white men when they were using the “Constitution” and the “Rule of Law.” to keep white women in their place. That place was “chattel” according to their version of the “Constitution” and the “Rule of Law.”

Daily we hear the pundits asking what is the matter with the republican party? They are calling President Obama a socialist, muslim, and every vile name they can. They call the democrats derogatory names.
My answer is look to who these white men are appealing to. They are appealing to the racist neurosis in white people. Whites who suffer from this neuroses will accept any precept to abandon supporting an OTW or white woman over a white man.
Hence they are willing to entertain cheney’s crap about torture helping to keep America safe. Never mind that it is illegal. The same logic appeals to the whites the republican party is appealing to.
Never mind that the candidate may be the better person, is he or she a white man. Don’t be surprised at the rise of the republican party. The same white people who elected bush to two terms are poised to abandon the black guy for any white man that is a bit plausible.
Racism is a neurosis among white people. It is what’s allows them to consistently acquit white cops that brutalize, maim, and kill OTWs. It is what allows white to give white avowed racists, bigots, and hate mongers an opportunity to have their say on in all our forms of media. But then act in union to prevent any OTW who has may a similar sentiment against the white race.
The media has ostracized OTWs like Rev. Wright while giving David Dukes not only their “free speech” rights to preach their hate to the nation. Hell they can even run for high elective office and get elected.
Whites have no problem electing their racists, bigots, and hate mongers to high office. While demanding that OTWs throughly repudiate any OTW who would dare to call the shit that they do to OTWs disgusting.

Susan and Robert you are so right about white men and their hypocrisy. They scream about Bonds needing an asterisk because he took sports enhancement drugs.
Look at swimming. They have invented swim suits that prevent water from clinging to the body thereby eliminating drag. That alone should gain a asterisk. Spicks swam in his skin which comes with drag. If you put him in a dragless suit he would dust his competition.
Phelps suit prevents drag, doesn’t weigh him down since it retains not water, reduces friction, and a host of other benefits due to technology. These deserve an asterisk. Every swim record broken in the last 10 years has been done by a white person wearing an engineered suit. Some have produced air pockets so as to shoot the person along on a cushion of air.
As in everything they attempt most whites cheat. They seek to give themselves an unfair advantage over the competition. Yet, they are the ones who scream the loudest when an OTW seeks to use the some of the same methods to even the playing field.
Less not forget it was Mark Macquire who started hitting so many home runs because he was so saturated with steroids that his body to on grotesque shapes. His ankles became so big that he could not stand. Where was the screaming? Then!
No they gave him rewards and parties. He kept hitting more home runs than Sousa until he decided to take steroids to even the playing field. Along comes Bonds and he too realized that without the chemical suit that Mcquire was wearing(steroids) he would never be able to match Mcquire’s batting record.
So he took steroids to even the playing field. It two unequal athletes take the same physically enhancing drug then the superior athlete will remain the superior. That is what happened. On steroids Bonds was better than those white boys taking steroids.
So he set better records than his white counterparts on steroids. Of course the white boy couldn’t have that. Not an equal playing field. So Bonds has to get an asterisk.

I just finish watching a video of a police chase on Anderson Cooper 360. He was interviewing a cop who trains other police officers how to restrain suspects.
The video showed a high speed chase in which a suspect sideswiped a police officer while trying to evade police. His van turned over and he was ejected. He was knocked out from the ejection. Five police officers descended upon him and proceeded to beat the shit out of him with clubs and their fists.
They were subsequently fired. The insult was the officer who was being asked about the incident claiming that the beating may have been justified because of the rush of adrenaline the officers were experiencing because of the experience.
The lame, inept follow up questioning by Anderson allowed the cop to be an apologist for a bunch of thugs with badges.

I am a white man. George you are a disgrace to the human race. America is a country that has not always lived up to its ideals. But that was then. Today, I teach my 2 boys and little girl that their daughter is entitled to every opportunity they are. I also teach the three of them that the same applies to others.
I was not, but my parents were probably guilty of some forms of discrimination against people of color. I can not live my life for what they may have done. I will not teach my children to live their lives for what they may have done. I do teach them to respect everyone’s right to the constitutional protections this country affords them regardless of their race, or religion, or sex.
When they are older I will teach them to respect the right of others to be gay. We are practicing Catholics. But we are not slaves to a illogical dogma.

Mendy, I just watched that episode of Anderson Cooper’s interview with he New York state police trainer. Listening to that guy, I can now understand why so many OTWs despise the police. His statement “It is preety clear that as soon as the police officers see that he is not resisting they leave.

Q: A friend of mine was shocked to find he owed a significant tax bill on his “tax-exempt” municipal bonds. How can this happen?
A: Possible ways…
(1) Only interest earned on tax-exempt bonds is tax exempt. If bonds appreciate in value and are sold at a gain, taxable capital gain results, just as from any other appreciating investment.
(2) Some tax-exempt bonds pay interest that is taxable under the rules of the alternative minimum tax (AMT), a tax computation that hits more taxpayers each year. These bonds generally are so-called “private activity bonds,” issued to support projects (such as sports stadiums) that benefit private parties. Check the AMT status of bonds with their issuer before investing.
(3) Tax-exempt bonds are often purchased at a discount, with the amount of the discount taxable as ordinary interest income. Also, not all municipal bonds pay federally tax-exempt interest.
