Make Every Day A Day of Thanks
Posted by Michelle Moquin on November 26th, 2009
Good morning.
Today is Thanksgiving in America. (Yesterday in Guam – Anna & Peter: I hope it was delightful! Hafa Adai. :) Today is the day for expressing what we are thankful for in life…it is a day for giving thanks to all that you feel grateful for. It is also a day for friends and family to get together share expressions of gratitude….and basically pig out….or turkey out...or, as in the case of last night – both!
Yes, we went to our yearly pre-Thanksgiving feast that friends of ours have hosted for the past seven years. It is always a fun time and this year we were all grateful to be sans kids so that everyone could share their best dirty, adult joke. It was a hoot, the highlight of the party, and a new addition to the yearly tradition.
But funning and food aside, and respectfully not addressing Thanksgiving historically, I enjoy Thanksgiving because it can remind us just how blessed we are even in today’s economic climate. It can remind us that even today, we as Americans need to realize the abundance that we have, and especially in these difficult times for many, what is really important in our lives.
So, why not recognize today, a day of giving thanks, and make the daily practice of being thankful and giving gratitude, habitual? I believe that if you make every day a day of thanks…it can have a dramatic effect on one’s attitude and perception of the world….that we all need to be thankful for all that we have, and all that we are, no matter how different and diverse.

Ruth, Evelyn, Zen Lill: Thank you for your admiration and recognition, and most of all your understanding and support.
Geraldine: I read only what you posted and did not see the photo. My only comment is the acceptance of the degradation of women in general across the world is sick and yes otw’s experience the worst of it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Gratefully your blog host,
