Flap Your Lips Friday
Posted by Michelle Moquin on February 12th, 2010
Speaking of flapping lips, I mean c’mon, I write about discrimination against women yesterday, and hardly anyone pays attention to the write, (except from you Shirley…oh and ZL too :) but I get kudos for the new photo. Not that I mind too much. Everyone loves being appreciated – moi included.
So speaking of appreciation…
Mike: Thanks too for the compliment but more importantly, I will give credit where credit it due and say, whether it matters or not, that you seem to be one of the men on this planet, in the category ‘a few others’ that I mentioned the other day in my write, where credit is due. I appreciate your persistency in trying to post. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be privy to as much of the happenings of the ‘right’ as you provide daily. So, thank you.
Doug, aka: The Main Dude, yeah..he’s another one that gets put in that category. He knows it. But as I said above, ‘Everyone loves being appreciated.’
Oh the topic for today yes…here it is:
Edesa: My post is about Iran today, because your comment yesterday weighed heavy on me, just as it does anytime when I read a comment such as yours. I am aware of what is going on in Iran. I have read the latest. Since I am not sure whether our media will pick it up, I am going to post what I have found.
I wish you safety and power in your pursuit, and hope that the internet will open and be a much needed tool of communication for you and the others again. I was informed of the new plan. You are in good hands. Sometimes, things have to get worse before they can get better. I know that is not easy to hear, for me as well, but know that I am with you in spirit and strength.
Iran crushes opposition protests with violence
Feb 11, 2010 - A Street Journalist
Iran’s regime thwarted the opposition’s hopes of turning the 31st anniversary celebrations of the Islamic revolution into another massive protest today.
It out-manoeuvred the so-called Green movement by swamping the official proceedings with huge numbers of its own supporters, preventing the media from covering anything else and blanketing the rest of the capital with security forces who forcefully suppressed the opposition’s relatively muted demonstrations.
President Ahmadinejad also sought to grab the headlines and divert attention from the protests by announcing that Iran had produced its first stock of 20 per cent-enriched uranium. He declared that Iran was now a “nuclear state”.
Opposition websites claimed a young woman named Leila Zareii, was killed and many others were wounded or arrested. The opposition leaders Mehdi Karroubi and Mohammed Khatami – a former president – were attacked, as was Zahra Rahnavard, wife of the Green Movement’s other leader, Mir Hossein Mousavi.
Even Zahra Eshraghi, granddaughter of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, leader of the 1979 revolution, was briefly arrested. She and her brother, Hassan, are both opposition sympathisers and she is married to Mr Khatami’s brother.
“It’s pretty clear that Greens everywhere will feel demoralised… The overall feeling is one of disappointment,” one well-placed source in Tehran told The Times last night. “The opposition miscalculated,” said another.
The regime was determined to prevent the so-called Green Movement from hijacking the biggest day in Iran’s calendar and largely succeeded.
It filled Azadi Square with tens of thousands of flag-waving supporters for the main event – Mr Ahmadinejad’s speech which was broadcast live on state television. Opposition websites posted pictures of the fleets of buses that had brought in the huge crowd and said it was given free food and drinks.
Most foreign journalists are banned from Iran. Those that remain, and their Iranian counterparts, were bussed to and from Azadi Square and barred from reporting on anything else, meaning only the patchiest information emerged from the rest of the city.
Opposition websites said Revolutionary Guards and basiji militiamen were stationed everywhere and that they moved swiftly and violently to break up opposition demonstrations.
They claimed the security forces used live ammunition, knives, teargas and paintballs that would enable them to identify protesters later and that they were beating and arresting women as well as men. They were backed up by water canon, new Chinese anti-riot vehicles and helicopters. Some, wearing plain clothes, infiltrated the protesters. The mobile telephone, internet and text messaging systems were seriously disrupted.
Mr Karroubi’s son, Hussein, said his father had to get out of his car and walk towards Sadeghieh Square, where thousands of supporters had gathered, because the roads were blocked. He was joined by other protestors, but they found their way blocked by plainclothes security forces who attacked them with knives, batons and tear gas.
Mr Karroubi’s bodyguards had to bundle him into a passing car which managed to drive him away, but not before the security forces smashed its windscreen. One of the bodyguards was seriously injured. Mr Karroubi’s other son, Ali, was arrested.
Film clips taken with mobile telephones showed opposition supporters chanting “Death to the dictator” on streets and in subway trains and ripping down a poster of Ayatollah Khomeini. Unrest was also reported in Shiraz, Isfahan, Mashad and other Iranian cities, but it was impossible to verify the reports.
It was also impossible to calculate how many opposition supporters turned out as their demonstrations were scattered. However the numbers appeared to be significantly smaller than on December 27, the holy day of Ashura, even though the Green movement’s three leaders had, unusually, urged their supporters to protest.
One protester insisted the opposition had come out in significant numbers, but “the problem was that we were not able to gather in one place because (the security forces) were very violent”.
Another said: “It means they won and we lost. They defeated us. They were able to gather so many people. But this doesn’t mean we have been defeated for good. It’s a defeat for now, today. We need time to regroup.”
Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid, deputy chief of staff of the armed forces, was quoted as saying: “The massive turnout of the nation shocked the central command of the arrogant front, including the US, England and the Zionist regime.”
Readers: Anything to add here? Comments? blog me.
Lacy: I love using spices when I cook…the emphasis is on the word ‘when’ :), and I have heard wonders about black pepper. Thanks for your post.
Sonja: Thanks for your post. I don’t have great eyesight, but I don’t do much about it. This article has opened my eyes to learning more. I know bad joke but I couldn’t help it. I hope you will always see well.

You can take that as you wish :) And Erica, you are correct – thanks for confirming Anon, ( Were you with me the other night at Harry’s?) my photo is hanging on Harry’s wall. Harry has asked me if I want to give him a new one considering the one hanging was taken quite some time ago, but I so love that photo. It is with my first dog, my beloved Bianca – so I keep it there in honor of her.
Alen: If you go there so often maybe next time peruse the wall with all of the photos – you’ll see it.
Oscar: I assure I am no cyborg, but I have to tell you, I love the line(s). Much better than the one left on my car :) So, no offense taken at all.

Lowe: It was posted a few days ago but it is always a good to be reminded.
Evelyn: ’Sweet little morsel’ – I love that especially coming from a woman. Again, love the relationship you have with your mom (Hi Ruth). Love that she is so open (be with whomever makes you happy), and evidently so are you. So is there someone special in your life? Hmm? :)
Lucky you, you get to meet Anonz. I’m ‘psyched’ for you too. :)
Ah….England…what part do you live, if you don’t mind me asking. London? In the Country? I love London although it has been quite some time since I have been there and I know it has changed so much. I would love to go back sometime. Perhaps you and I will meet someday and we’ll rendezvous with Ruth too. Now that would make me psyched.
I am so moved by the courage that women have in this world. And touched that any influence or inspiration that I offer is helping. I am honored. I know it is huge for the hijab to be removed.
Got to run – Love back to you Evelyn! And to all of my readers too….It’s Friday – Start Flapping those lips. Blog me.
Oh and Kelvin: So you want to meet for a dance and a photo? That’s not too much to ask. You’ll pay for my friends? Sweet. And my husband too? Nice. Ah…You must know I am married. And you must know that it is Valentine’s Day on Sunday, and I will be with Doug. So you won’t mind if I brought him along. Thanks Kelvin…but I will have to pass. Perhaps on Valentine’s Day you will find your Valentine. :)
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my ‘loyal’(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Peace out.
Gratefully your blog host,

At last the elective representatives of Guam are waking up. They see the impact of bringing all these white people to our island. They are learning from what the whites did to the Hawaii Islands.
The taking of the people of Hawaii’s land by the white government of America and the giving it to private white companies and wealthy white men made the white race the new landlords of Hawaii.
In the continental US, whites never allow OTWs to get back anything taken from them by a past corrupt racist white controlled municipal, state, and federal government.
Whites control the farm belt because the government gave loans to the white farmers while denying them to the OTWs. The OTWs tax dollars were being used to finance white farms at the expense of theirs. This was repeated in every industry in the United States. Only white men could prosper under a white man controlled municipal, state and federal government.
Yet, white america is fond of bragging how THE WHITE MAN built this country. As if he did it without rigging the system. Remind him of it and he will quickly accuse you of playing the race card. The rapist gets to destroy the character of the vicim to keep his actions from being examined.
The government’s favoritism towards whites and the white man in particular is not a secret. Any check of history reveals this to be true. Yet, the government makes no attempt to right those wrongs. Right up to the election of Obama, many of the same practices were being continued on the federal level.
It is safe to say that on the municipal and state levels that are still controlled by whites it continues. White men in general have no conscious. They, I believe are inherently evil. They have to be taught to treat others with the dignity and respect they expect for themselves
I think they must suffer from some type of neurosis that makes them behave that way. What other explanation can I arrive at when I have had talks with white men who I don’t believe are racists and they look me square in the eyes and say they are not aware of overt racism in the United States of America. To say something like that to me they have to be liars and I know these men they are not liars or they have to be sick in the head. Mentally incapable of feeling the angst of others when they collide with their own.
These are the same men that railed to me about the appointment of Sotomayor because they believe she discriminated against some white firemen. How quick white men are to condemn any action the government takes that they feel impinges upon their rights. But OTWs are supposed to be silent and wait until the government feels that it is ready to get relief from government giving preferential treatment to whites.
Guam’s elective representatives are waking up. Perhaps it is because they see the danger to their own jobs. When the whites bring in enough voting soldiers to tip the balance on who gets elected on this island Chamorros can kiss their jobs good by.
The election in Massachusetts woke them up. It said that whites will elect whites over any ideological debate. They elected a white man who would keep that black man in check until the White House can be returned to a white man. The only thing that matters to them is color. That is why they continue to elect 99 whites to the most powerful legislative body in the United States of America. A body which has an exclusive membership of only 100. It does not take a genius to conclude that the majority is voting race not issues, ideology or morality.
The conservative white man will non the less argue, with passionate sincerity, that if the white man wins consistently,it is because he was the most moral, proposed the best way to solve the countries problems, and had the right solutions to the issues before the electorate at that time.
I think Guam’s elective body is beginning to realize that their jobs are at stake. Their sense of their own self preservation may help us Chamorros to keep control of our birth right.
Yes, we are proud to be a part of the greatest Super Power the world has ever known. But we do not want to become the latest conquest of white america. We do not want to go the way of the American Indian and the more recent Native Hawaiian.
The federal government already owns more than a third of all of Guam. They intend to use their power of Eminent Domain to take more than half of Guam from its rightful owners. Where will it stop?
I don’t believe it will. When they have control of the seats of government, they will make Guam the 51st state and the robbery will be complete. One man one vote is democracy for whites when it gives them control of the state or government.
But if it does not they declare the winner illegitimate. That is what the disrespect and fuss is about concerning the election of a black man as President of the United States of America.
But the white press is silent about this obvious state of affairs. Like my non racist white friends, the “fourth estate” can not see racism when it does not involve a slight against the white man. It is merely “conservatism.” The joke among themselves on the rest of the races in the United States of America.
It is conservative for whites to think they are the rightful beneficiaries of the privileges government has to confer among its different races. It is liberal to think other wise. This principle is so acceptable among whites that no question about it is ever raised in their “fourth estate.”
OTWs have been so brainwashed by the acceptance that it is normal for whites to think they deserve preferential treatment that they can be conservatives without feeling the slightest concern that they are joining a party that argues, first, that whites deserve the best, and the most that government has to offer and then the debate about what it means to be a conservative can be discussed.
Whites know this. That is why the conservative is 80 to 90% white. The difference in that number is made by the number of ignorant OTWs that rush to join. Ask a republican OTW why he/she is a conservative and they will spout the party line about “less government, fiscal responsibility, strong defense of the country,” etc.
Yet the size of government always grows under a republican administration, their presidents have presided over the largest spending sprees in history, most inherited surpluses from democrats and quickly turned them into huge deficits.
Bush inherited a several billion dollar surplus and in eight years turned it into a 7 trillion dollar deficit. Real fiscal conservatism at work. I am not a republican nor am i a democrat. I am a Chamorro who will work with the party that keeps Guam for Guamanians.
I see no special benefit from a democratic party either. It is still white controlled and whites vote for keeping themselves the privileged race there also. I hope our elected officials will begin to see it that way too.

Guam says military buildup ‘flawed’
HAGATNA, Guam (Kyodo) The Guam legislature unanimously adopted a resolution Thursday urging the U.S. military and other authorities to drastically amend the planned military buildup on the island, citing many “flaws,” including the impact on the environment and the threat to islanders’ property.
The resolution also called for more information on the relocation of U.S. military personnel from Okinawa and for a town hall meeting with President Barack Obama on the issue when he visits the Pacific island next month.
According to Assembly Speaker Judith Won Pat, the legislature’s main areas of concern in the detailed plan for the buildup, called the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, include the possibility of land seizure, large-scale dredging of coral reefs and the lack of thought given to the social impact of the buildup.
The resolution was nonbinding but will be sent to Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, Obama and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, among others

LOW-SALT FALLOUT
No chef worth his/her salt uses those everyday brands of iodized salt anymore — coarse-grained kosher and sea salts have become the rage as the old-fashioned white and blue cardboard containers gather dust on supermarket shelves.
Table salt has long been enriched with iodine, but with a dual trend of salt reduction for health reasons and gourmet interest in fancy salts, there’s been an interesting, possibly worrisome consequence — reduced levels of iodine are putting people at risk for thyroid problems.
Over the years, much emphasis has been put on iodized salt as the best way to ensure you get the iodine needed for thyroid function and to prevent enlargement of the thyroid gland (an unsightly condition called a goiter). So how does all of this shake out, healthwise?
SIGNS THAT TROUBLE IS BREWING
I spoke with endocrinologist and iodine expert Elizabeth Pearce, MD, at the Boston Medical Center about the implications of the reduced iodine intake. Our sinking levels of dietary iodine aren’t only because gourmands prefer sea salt, says Dr. Pearce.
Manufacturers have decreased their use of iodized salt in processed foods. Additionally, in the 1980s limitations were placed on the amount of iodine added to cattle feed based on concern that citizens were getting too much iodine.
MAKE SURE YOU GET ENOUGH IODINE
Generally speaking, Dr. Pearce told me, the US population is not believed to be in danger of iodine deficiency — at least not yet. However, there are concerns that some US women of childbearing age may be at risk for mild iodine deficiency.
Individual levels of iodine fluctuate day to day, making it difficult to test levels reliably. Iodine studies use the median from urine sampling of a large population group to arrive at their conclusions, says Dr. Pearce. However we do know what intake should be: The recommended daily allowance for a non-pregnant adult is 150 mcg per day. Dr. Pearce adds that women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should take in about 250 mcg daily.
Curiously, either too much or too little iodine can cause hypo or hyperthyroidism with their symptoms of weight gain or loss, possibly fatigue and depression. To be sure you stay in the safety zone, you can get iodine from a multi-vitamin. Look for 150 mcg per day and make sure you check the label, since not all multi-vitamins or even pre-natal ones have it.
Or you can get iodine through dietary sources. Dairy products (from cow’s milk) are one good source — one glass of milk contains about 110 mcg of iodine. Seafood is another good source, though exact amounts vary by location and type of seafood. Seaweed is also good, but Dr. Pearce cautions that kelp, interestingly, actually has very high levels of iodine so it should be consumed sparingly. And, of course, iodized salt is still available — it even comes in a few brands of sea salts.

The republicans are rabid to stop health care. They are trying to insure that no republican representative will cooperate with Obama. This is Human Events latest bulletin.
======
Congressional Republicans may resurrect ObamaCare from the dead. You read that right… Republicans in Congress may actually fall for a political trap being set by Barack Obama designed to breathe new life into ObamaCare. That’s why it’s imperative we take decisive and immediate action to stop them.
As reported by The New York Times: “President Obama said Sunday that he would convene a half-day bipartisan health care session at the White House to be televised live this month, a high-profile gambit that will allow Americans to watch as Democrats and Republicans try to break their political impasse.”
Of course, you don’t need us to tell you that there is no current “political impasse.” That’s because ObamaCare is already effectively dead. This so-called “bipartisan health care session” is nothing more than a trap… a scheme designed to trick Republicans in Congress into helping Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bring it back from the grave.
You don’t need us to tell you that unless the politicians in Washington hear from you right now, Obama’s scheme might actually work… and you most certainly don’t need us to tell you that Republicans, in a mad and mindless rush to appear accommodating and open to compromise, may actually help Barack Obama revive his government-run health care scheme.
We simply cannot allow that to happen. Patriotic Americans like you worked too long and too hard to effectively defeat ObamaCare. And it’s up to us to make sure that it stays dead. But to do that, we must make our voices heard now, before it is too late.
Use the button or hyperlink below to send your urgent and personalized Blast Faxes to each and every member of the Leadership of the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives. Or alternately, you can send over 530 urgent, personalized faxes to all the members of the House and Senate.
Urge them to BOYCOTT Barack Obama’s nationally-televised health care dog-and-pony show. Drive the point home that the American people (Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike) have already rejected ObamaCare and we expect them to stand firm against it. Remind them that for real health care reform to take place, ObamaCare as we know it must remain defeated. And last but not least, tell them not to fall for Obama’s political trap… designed for no other reason but to resurrect government-run health care from the dead.
=========================================================
Is there any doubt the republicans are not interested in bi-partianship?

Don,
How can someone who said they were Jesus, NOT believe in Jesus? I think, what you are referring to is the fact that Jesus was an alien, rather than Christ. Therefore it is not out of line for him to say he doesn’t believe in Jesus ‘Christ’, but Jesus, sure. It is documented and noted in history that Jesus was a prophet and was crucified by the Romans.
Jesus, being an alien…The funny thing about that is that you can’t prove that statement wrong. Many of the teachings and parables that are in the bible are hand me downs from myth and other prophets of time. An alien, could have easily done what the Easter story claims…something to ponder perhaps. I don’t think god would take offense to the fact that you are trying to see the truth by looking at all of the ideas on the table. I don’t think god micromanages anyone anyway…I’m sure there are many other things on god’s plate than to micromanage someone on this one blue ball in the midst of the rest of the Universe who has a few questions. There are 6 Billion people in the world…and billions of galaxies, with billions of planets. In fact, there is more enlightened truth and possibilities to Jesus being an alien than there is to a simple belief structure that creates hatred, disharmony and mayhem throughout the world based on myths, and false beliefs. Either way, you can’t prove either right or wrong.
You said “Now I would not hesitate to take care of any non white that invaded my family’s space. I now believe people should marry their own kind. I am not a racists.” That needs a little work if you want people to believe what your saying. I’m sure your god wouldn’t be proud of that. But, then, men have turned god into whatever they wish, over the years.
You said “I am a practicing Mormon. I was a devout catholic. But I have since been reborn into the true faith.” With all of the confusion with religion in the world, it is good to finally know we have a one true faith…

Bummer! I waited for your answer. I made a small fortune during the dot.com boom. I sold an absolutely worthless company for a little over two billion dollars.
I was thinking that since your husband was so enlightened, he wouldn’t mind sparing you for a dance or two and a photo op for me. I guess I’ll spend my Valentine’s day with my mother in Las Vegas, she loves the slots.
Maybe some other time.

It is a quarter after 2 AM Saturday morning in Guam, I have been working with the youth for a better Guam and a few other Chamorro action groups who like me see the need to protect Guam from the loss of its sovereignty.
Conservatives are always arguing about sovereign states rights. But when Guam brings up its sovereign rights, we are accused of being unpatriotic. It would seem if one acts outside the interests of white america, he/she is unpatriotic.
I a too sleepy for philosophical arguments. I am writing to inform those Chamorros off the Island about what is going on here. The latest is that our representatives have awaken and some of them are showing they have a pair.
They are willing to tell the federal that enough is enough. Guam can not handle the influx to too many military people. 8,000 marines are enough!

Guam tells Japan it cannot take more than 8000 marines from Okinawa
Posted at 03:12 on 12 February, 2010 UTC
Guam’s governor Felix Camacho has told a visiting Japanese delegation that the island can’t accommodate thousands more US marines from an air base in Japan’s Okinawa.
However the Pacific Daily News reports that the governor of the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Benigno Fitial, has said he’d gladly welcome the troops.
Governors Camacho and Fitial met behind closed doors with Japanese officials and the heads of US military commands on Guam yesterday.
Earlier, they toured military installations on Guam to show the Japanese delegation how the US$6 billion their government is providing for the military buildup will be spent.
Japan is looking at whether Guam can accommodate more than the planned 8000 marines to transfer there from the current Okinawa base by 2014.
The transferral is part of a plan agreed on by Washington and Tokyo to relocate the Japan base to northern Okinawa to realign American troops in the country.
But many Okinawan officials are opposed to that, and Japan is reportedly looking at the possibility that more troops could leave Okinawa.
However Governor Camacho says that restrictions and limitations based on Guam’s land availability, resources and capacities rule it out.

I’ve often been asked, ‘What do you old folks do now that you’re retired? Well..I’m fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, and one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch , and margaritas into urine.

Hi Mischa, I’m sure other women are as pleased as I am that you stay in everyones face re: discrimination against women, but yes, a little weird that your pic got more attention that the matter itself, ah well…
OK Anonz, it is understood that Ruth has done a stellar job with the little girls of Africa – so while I understand you wanting to meet Evelyn to possibily employ her in a similar manner – sweet pea, two years later on this blog and all I get is ‘can’t meet bc I have to fix my face’ and ‘it’s too dangerous to meet’ – what’s up with that??? If you don’t mind her seeing you in person and it’s not too dangerous to meet her, there is only one way for me to take such a blow off. As always though, I wish you the best, I won’t elaborate further or address you anymore if that is your wish. I’m thankful we’ve had banter this long : )
Actually, now I have a q for Ruth: do the girls ask about their deceased family members a lot or do they tend to repress to just carry on? Curious minds need to know…
Doug, the main dude, don’t listen to Pearl, you are one fine specy of a good man. She’s just pissed bc you don’t believe in her God contruct and most religious people will feel that way, but you didn’t need me to say that. Guess I just wanted to say Hi directly, so Hi Boggzy!

I like your black and white, too, but my favorite remains your facebook photo. I have enlarged it and photo shopped it to help clear up the enlargement. I do wish you would one day publish a larger photo of it.
It is too difficult to enlarge from such a small sample. It should be at least the size of your recent B&W.

Hello, to you Lill. Thanks for giving me a get out of hell free pass! I don’t know what else I would have done…
February 12th, 2010 at 9:17 am
Kelvin,
I appreciate your recognizing my work towards enlightenment. There have been many dances over the years that I have ‘spared’ Michelle, as well as photo ops. Too bad it didn’t work out for you. Have fun in Vegas.
February 12th, 2010 at 9:19 am
Hello Child of mine. It is nice of you to mention that I don’t mind your choice of partner. Now will you show up with one? You were not supposed to mention that you would be meeting Anonz. i say this on the blog because you have opened that can of worms.
Doug, I admire the way you support your wife. You are an example for the ages.
Zen Lill
The girls have a way of keeping the thoughts of their past to themselves. So far the shrinks have not been able to crack the shell they keep around themselves.
I have not seen Anonz’s face, neither will my daughter, he is still a very private man. He has declined to allow the girls to see his face to protect them from those who would do anything to know who he is.
He plays a game with them where each time they see him he has a different face and he is always sitting so as not to give them a hint of how tall he really is.
They love his visits which have not been nearly enough. But they understand that there are “bad men” out there and he as to remain hidden to continue to protect them.
They often draw pictures of him with different faces to place in a special place we keep at our dining tables. Sometime there are 12 different pictures stacked on his plate.
I often hear one of them talking to him when she is afraid to be alone. They believe he can always hear them. I will tell them better when i feel they are ready to venture out alone. For now, they refuse to go places without at least one other girl with them, unless it is with me or Evelyn.
On the surface when they are together they are fearless, it is when they have to do things alone that they retreat into their frightened shells. I am not presuming to speak for him, but I think Anonz wants to interview my child to assure himself that she is a good influence upon them since she has become the big sister they depend on to protect them and share their secrets with.
When she comes the start to giggle and act like little mischievous kids anxious to get away from the prying eyes of their mother, that would be me. I allow them their space and it has worked out quite well.
I have tried to talk Evelyn into moving here to help me with the girls, but she refuses to leave her job. I am hoping that Anonz can persuade her to come. I, of course have a mother’s selfish reasons. I want my only child to be closer. But I will accept whatever she decides to do.
Anonz always speaks so fondly of you, I always thought that you too were secretly lovers. I hope I am not being too forward. And I certainly do not expect you to reveal anything that would put you in danger on the blog. Evelyn and I assumed that the reason he hasn’t brought you to France is because of that danger thing.
Evelyn thinks I know what he looks like and that i have promised not to reveal who he is to anyone. But the truth is I have never actually seem his real face. I thought when he talked about his face being injured to you it was code for something.
I hope my daughter blabbering didn’t up set you. That would be just terrible. Please forgive her thoughtlessness.

Howie, we are waiting for more. We have put together what we thing the portal would look like. But would tell us again. Is the triangle upright or flat and what pole does the Mariana Trench represent. Is it the top or one of the sides?
Please hurry.

Ruth, you write so kindly. I live in Mizoram. I am now 18. I would like to meet you. My mother died when I was 5. I have been moved from house to house of my relatives. When they tired of my labor they sent me to another house.
2 days ago, I received a letter from the government that a relative of my mother’s passed away and left her 1.7 million pounds. I am being fitted to go to London on the 28th of february because i am the only living relative of my mother’s line.
Could you have your daughter meet me? I would rather have you two as my family than these people here who now love me too much. I am to meet with my Solliciter and then sign for my money at the bank before I go to see my property.
May I tell my Solliciter that Evelyn will accompany us to the bank and to my property? I will not be bring any of my relatives. Since Evelyn is in England she can meet with my Solliciter before I get there and know what I am to do before I come.
You can have my inheritance, I only want to be part of your family. You do not have a son and I am a very polite boy. I read and write several dialects of Hindi, Urdu, hebrew, spanish, and english.
I am not very big so I was forced to use my brain skills to be useful enough for my relatives to continue housing and feeding me. So I specialized in the languages of their trading partners.
I can be very useful to you as a son. I know how to clean and I have been the watchful eye of the females of every household because my relatives had my testicles removed at an early age so that i would be able to perform this duty.
I know you may wish to see me first so that you may determine if I am too dark to be a son in your household. I admit I am very dark, but I could also be a sort of a son. I could pay my way. I have been reading you and your daughter for many months. I would never harm the girls. I could show them that a boy could give his life to protect them too.
If you take me, I will be always an honor to you.
your servant

Mom, I am very sorry about what I did. I just didn’t think. I know you will forgive me. I hope Anonz will forgive me too. As for working along side you, You know how much I love you and the girls, but I have put a lot into getting this job.
I need to feel that I can be a success on my own. It is very important to me to set the conditions of my employment and to control my destiny. I will not be taking any offer that Anonz makes to me.
I know he reads this blog so I am making my position known now so that he can save himself a trip should that be the only reason he is coming. If he is also coming to interview me to discover if I am a good influence on the girls.
I hope Anonz that you will not hold that one mental error against me as I have come to love the “little ones” as much as I could love any sister. And I would hate to have my visits limited.
Zen Lill, I hope my lack of discretion didn’t in anyway cause you a single uncomfortable moment.
Abhay, I love the name. I looked up its meaning. “Fearless” it said. I could use a fearless brother. I’ll bet the girls could also. I can’t speak for them, but I know your color won’t matter. Most of them are probably darker that you. Color is not an issue in this family.
I will be delighted to meet with your “Solliciter.” As for your money, one of the most important things a person should learn upon coming into a sizable sum of money is to hold on to it for a while before she/he makes any big decisions.
We are not a rich family as far as money goes, but we are filthy rich when it comes to love. We have so much, we give it away whenever we feel like it.
My job takes me to Burma(Myanmar) quite often. So I have visited the town of Saiha in Mizoram for pleasure and business. I know many people there. You can contact Pu Lalrinmawia Ralte. He will arrange everything.
Stay safe by staying close to home until you are to come to London. Mother(Ruth) has asked Anonz to provide for your transportation to London. After you meet with Pu Ralte, Anonz will arrange for one of his private jets to fly you to London as soon as you wish. Don’t worry about “getting fitted.” Neither should feel that you have to inform anyone about your travel schedule.
If you are not certain that you can make it safely to Saiha, then get on the blog immediately and tell me how to reach you. Don’t worry about giving out too much information, I will have someone there before any harm can come to you. I have already alerted the officials in Saiha to be on the watch for you. I will be speaking with them after they have received my message.
Looking forward to seeing you
Evelyn

Actually, I was writing in to rail about how the medical industry can not be trusted to give fair or unbiased information about the ability of herbs, vitamins, and minerals to help fight illness or disease.
They work for big pharmaceuticals and thats that. I found this article that practically says as much. Pay close attention to “an issue with meta-analyses –”
———————————————————————————————-
THE TRUTH ABOUT GARLIC AND CANCER PREVENTION
Traditional healers and modern scientists often see things differently, but when it comes to garlic, there has seemed to be consensus about its health-promoting properties.
So what are we to make of a new meta-analysis of 19 published studies that found no credible evidence of a link between garlic intake and reduced risk for a wide number of cancers?
While it did acknowledge “very limited” evidence linking garlic intake to reduced risk for colon, prostate and ovarian cancer, that’s faint praise indeed.
When I spoke with Daily Health News contributing editor Andrew Rubman, ND, about this surprising finding, he pointed out that an issue with meta-analyses — studies that evaluate data from numerous others to reach a conclusion — is that researchers are able to pick and choose among previous studies to skew their findings in a particular direction.
This is a particular issue with single-factor studies, when researchers look at a variable in isolation. Dr. Rubman is not saying this is necessarily the case here, but to evaluate how worthy its findings are would require careful investigation of the studies used.
It is possible, he says, that the studies showing no discernable effects of garlic used products that were relatively weak or garlic processed at high temperatures, which would diminish its healthful properties.
Dr. Rubman continues to support garlic as one among many cancer-prevention tools when it is part of a healthy diet. He told me that preliminary human studies, evaluated by Natural Standard
(http://www.naturalstandard.com/), a clinical database that evaluates evidence-based natural therapies, suggest that regular consumption of garlic, particularly unprocessed, may reduce the risk of developing several types of cancer, including gastric and colorectal. “More studies are necessary to better evaluate preventative or curative capacity,” he said.
Dr. Rubman noted that it is best to crush raw garlic to release its health-benefitting enzymes and then let it rest for 10 or so minutes to “bloom.”
Most people start a dish by heating garlic in oil, which is fine, but Dr. Rubman advises adding some at the end of the cooking process as well to ensure that you’ll get the full health value, since some of its healthful properties are reduced — even destroyed — by heat.
Another possible solution is to take capsules of cold-pressed extraction of garlic (he recommends those made by a Japanese company called Kyolic, http://www.kyolic.com/). However, with such excellent garlic in markets today, Dr. Rubman says he sees no reason not to consume it fresh in your favorite dishes.

Ruth, thank you for the long version answer to my question, shrinks do not employ a method I call ‘hug until relaxed’ – and here it is: both parties must rely on their own two feet and posture to hold them up although they are holding each other cloesly, there is a melting (for lack of a better descriptive ajective) that takes place when held for a period of time and when I’ve used it on kids, after the melting they tend to release verbally as well, the caveat: as long as the hugger is a trustable and stable person. It’s a bit deep so it’s not to be tried on acquantances or any adult that you don’t know well either. I’m sure (via your compassionate written form) that you are able to read nuance so this is especially effective when you sense/see that something is amiss with a young one, say that (I see something different in your eyes but I can’t pinpoint what it might be, come here…)often they are unable to put to words the thoughts so they remain mute, when they melt suddenly they are open to speaking and listening, it’s a fascinating process. I found it in a book about having a passionate marriage, and although I had a tough customer on my hands and it wasn’t employable with him, it has given me a tool for handling friends/family in need, my own child and possibly another male another time…feel free to try it, the floodgates do part with this so be prepared for what may follow…
Ruth and Evelyn, I would be a liar if I said the commentary didn’t bother me, it did. Thank you both for responding so quickly and so thoroughly, Ruth, esp for the long version of how the girls are doing. Evelyn, I understand that your excitement overrode your discretion in the moment, (no need to hide things from me anyway, I’m a big girl, I can handle what’s dealt me in most situations) though it wasn’t meant to make me uncomfortable by you mentioning it here, I’ve no doubt about that, and I didn’t allow it to bother me very deeply, just thought it question worthy to Anonz…enough said for now, I think.
Pater and Anna, I hardly ever read your articles without cringing at what Americans (can I say ‘old white males’?) will do to have control, have more more more and again, more control. It is reiterated here regularly (from men) about controlling this, that – oh and your woman, too. : ) Can I give a blanket apology for our fat-headed and unfathomable behavior?
Males of that control mindset – I won’t even say your paranoid bc you truly are destined to live out bad relationships that require ‘control’ bc you set them up to be that way via your attitude and bearing. There is another way to live and love but you’re too busy interpretting and adhereing to ancient ideas about what it means to love, live and be in relationship with (fill in the blank), when in fact love has little to do with control, it’s quite the opposite and it’s that lack of control (over feelings, circumstances, another persons choices, etc…) that you cannot tolerate. I feel for you (but in a snap-out-it kind of way) bc it must be hellish trying/needing to control anything/anyone outside of yourself. FYI, It’s not possible, so why not let it go, let people be and trust them to self-regulate? That goes for controlling, insubortinating, undermining OTW’s rights as well as women’s rights, your woman’s/mine/or any other female you have contact with. But you all have ‘trust’ issues (methinks it’s oedipal in origin) so therein lies the rub…ah well…
OK, have to run, the weekend is about to begin : ) enjoy yours, Zen Lill

Something went very wrong at the Mariana trench about two days ago. our husbands were on lock down for secrecy purposes. They were not allowed to go home until they were debriefed.
I was screaming at my husband because I thought he was out fooling around as usual. But he swore me to secrecy and said that the thinks they were contacted by aliens.
He said at first the government wanted to get all planes off the ground. Then only certain ones. If the liar is telling the truth for once, what’s next.
Howie where are you when we need you. Ask Carr.

Miss Evelyn:
I live in Saiha. I have done all you asked and will be in London tomorrow. I know you know all this by now but I wanted to say hello to your mother Mrs. Ruth. It was her kind words that helped me ask this kindness from you.
Thank you Mrs. Ruth.
I hope to meet you after my issues of citizenship are cleared. I found out that my mother was a British citizen.

Congresswoman Pelosi Visits Haiti
Today, I joined a bipartisan, bicameral Congressional delegation to Haiti. This delegation demonstrated the ongoing American commitment to the Haitian people – that they will not be forsaken or forgotten. First and foremost, our delegation went to pay our respects to the Haitian people who are suffering from the tragedy. It is also crucial that the House and Senate – on a bipartisan basis – have the opportunity to examine the ongoing reconstruction efforts ahead of the U.S. Congress considering long-term assistance for Haiti.
Today has been designated as a national day of mourning for the Haitian people – marking the 30th day following this disaster. The delegation assessed the U.S. government’s response to the Haitian earthquakes that struck the nation last month and surveyed the devastation left in the wake of the catastrophe.
The delegation met with Haitian government officials, including President Rene Preval and Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive. The itinerary also included visits to aid distribution sites and medical facilities, and meetings with officials from the U.S. military, USAID, the United Nations, and humanitarian organizations that are working to help the people of Haiti recover from the earthquake.
For more information on the earthquake in Haiti, including information on locating missing relatives, please visit the State Department or the American Red Cross Websites.
Celebration of Lunar New Year
The Lunar New Year is a time of celebration for Asian American and Pacific Islanders nationwide; a moment to gather with friends, family, and loved ones, reflect on the past year, and look to the future with hope and optimism. This year marks the year of the Tiger, recognized for hard work, courage, and leadership – vital characteristics as we overcome the challenges facing our nation, our economy, and our families.
San Francisco is home to one of the largest, strongest AAPI communities in the country and some of the most festive Lunar New Year celebrations anywhere. From a Chinese New Year parade to a community street fair and a Spring festival, the City will be a center of culture, joy, and diversity. All San Franciscans will be able to rejoice not only in the pageantry of the holiday but in the beauty of a growing, thriving, dynamic AAPI population.
As we celebrate the achievements of AAPIs and the significance of the immigrant experience for our city and our nation, we remember that the year of the Tiger is also the year of the census – and that all residents of San Francisco must be counted and must be acknowledged as critical threads in the fabric of American culture.
Please feel free to forward this information to your family and friends. To learn more about these efforts, to express your views, or to sign up for email updates, please visit my Web site.
Sincerely,
Member of Congress

4 F-22A stealth fighters fly to U.S. Kadena base in Okinawa
Saturday 13th February, 04:34 AM JST
NAHA —
Four F-22A stealth fighters have flown to the U.S. Air Force’s Kadena Air Base in Okinawa from Guam, base officers said Friday. The fighters arrived at Kadena on Thursday from Andersen Air Force Base on Guam.
The officers did not say why the fighters have flown to Kadena, but said they will leave Okinawa within a week. The F-22A was developed jointly by Lockheed Martin Corp and Boeing Co. It is a single-seat, twin-engine fighter designed to be difficult to detect by radar. The U.S. Air Force temporarily deployed F-22 fighters to Kadena base on three occasions between 2007 and 2009.

Amazing Folk Remedies for Colds, Coughs, Flu, More
Lydia Wilen
Joan Wilen
Not every winter illness requires a trip to the doctor’s office. The following time-tested folk remedies offer effective, inexpensive treatments for minor health complaints.
Important: Consult your doctor if your condition persists or grows worse.
COLDS
The average adult contracts between two and four colds each year, mostly between September and May. Medical science has no cure for these highly contagious viral infections, but the following folk remedies can help ward off colds, ease symptoms and possibly shorten a cold’s duration…
Garlic. Garlic contains allicin, which has been shown to reduce the severity of a cold. Eat four cloves of freshly crushed raw garlic three times a day until you have recovered.
Cinnamon, sage and bay. Cinnamon contains compounds believed to reduce congestion. Sage can help sooth sore throats. Some Native American cultures have used bay leaves to clear breathing passages.
Steep one-half teaspoon each of cinnamon and sage with a bay leaf in six ounces of hot water. Strain and add one tablespoon of lemon juice. Lemon helps reduce mucus buildup. If you like your tea sweet, add honey.
Chicken soup. The Mayo Clinic has said in its health newsletter that chicken soup can be an excellent treatment for head colds and other viral respiratory infections for which antibiotics are not helpful.
FLU
Influenza is a potentially serious viral infection. People often mistake colds for the flu. Colds take hold gradually and are not usually accompanied by severe aches or a fever.
The onset of the flu is sudden, and symptoms include fever, severe muscle aches and fatigue.
Garlic and cognac. A shot of cognac is a popular flu remedy in Germany, where it’s thought to ease symptoms and help the body cleanse itself. Garlic helps clear mucus, among other potential benefits.
Peel and dice a half-pound of garlic. Add one quart of 90-proof cognac, and seal the mixture in an airtight bottle. Store in a cool, dark place for two weeks. Strain out the garlic, and reseal the liquid in the bottle. Prepare a new batch each year.
To treat the flu: Add 20 drops to eight ounces of water. Drink three glasses a day, one before each meal. For prevention: Use 10 to 15 drops, instead of 20, per glass during flu season.
Important: This treatment is not advisable for people who have drinking problems or for children.
Sauerkraut. Sauerkraut’s concentration of lactic acid bacteria may weaken infections. Have two tablespoons of sauerkraut juice or about one-half cup of sauerkraut each day during flu season to reduce the chances of infection.
SORE THROATS
Experiment with these remedies until you find what works best for you…
Apple cider vinegar. Vinegar is a powerful anti-inflammatory, and its acidity might help kill the bacteria that cause some sore throats. Add two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to six ounces of warm water. Gargle with a mouthful, spit it out, then drink a mouthful. Continue this until the mixture is gone. Rinse your mouth with water to prevent the vinegar from eroding your teeth. Repeat the vinegar gargle every hour for as long as your sore throat persists.
Sage. Sage is an anti-inflammatory. Add one teaspoon of dried sage to one six-ounce cup of boiling water. Steep for three to five minutes, strain, then gargle and swallow.
Lemon and honey. Honey coats the throat, while lemon can temporarily reduce the mucus buildup that often accompanies a sore throat. Squeeze one lemon, add a teaspoon of honey and drink. Repeat every two hours.
Tongue stretching. Stick out your tongue for 30 seconds, relax it for a few seconds, then repeat four times. This is believed to increase blood flow to the throat, speeding the healing process.
COUGHS
Try these folk remedies to figure out which works best for you…
Lemon, honey and olive oil. Honey and olive oil coat and soothe, while lemon reduces mucus. Heat one cup of honey, a half cup of olive oil and the juice of one lemon over a medium flame for five minutes. Turn off the heat, and stir for two minutes to blend the ingredients. Consume one teaspoon of the mixture every two hours.
Vinegar and cayenne pepper. Cayenne pepper contains capsaicin, a proven painkiller, while vinegar serves as an anti-inflammatory. Add a half cup of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of cayenne pepper to one-half cup of water. Add honey if desired. Take one tablespoon when your cough acts up and another tablespoon before bed.
Horseradish and honey. Horseradish can help loosen mucus, while honey coats the throat. Grate one teaspoon of fresh, peeled horseradish into two teaspoons of honey. Consume one teaspoon every two to three hours.
Ginger. Ginger is an anti-inflammatory that contains gingerols, which provide pain-reducing and sedative benefits. Chew a piece of fresh, peeled gingerroot when you feel the cough acting up, usually in the evening before bed. Chew until the ginger loses its kick.
Licoric-root tea. Licorice relieves the pain of irritated mucous membranes. Drink licorice-root tea as long as your cough persists.
Note: Don’t try licorice root if you have high blood pressure or kidney problems.
