About this time last year I wrote an article about an organization ‘Stop The Spray’ which is a non- profit, founded to give a voice to those opposing the spraying of harmful and senseless pesticides in the Bay Area, to rid the area of the Light Brown Apple Moth.

Well, it’s that time of year again and the spray is about to happen again, unless we do something about it. If this concerns you, as it does me, take 15 minutes today and make some phone calls and make your voice heard.  The letter below explains exactly what to do – thank you. Thanks Tracey for the info!

Dear Friends,

As you have heard, the apple moth environmental impact report has been released and the program is much the same as before, with aerial and ground spray and other chemical and environmentally disruptive treatments.

Here are 6 things you can do now to stop the spray.

We are updating our website regularly with new information on the EIR and efforts to stop the program: www.eastbay.stopthespray.org

Thanks for your support,

Nan

1. Call USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack and ask him to reclassify the light brown apple moth to non quarantinable status and stop the LBAM program now.

- phone: 202-720-3631 is the main line for the USDA. Ask to leave a message for Secretary Vilsack.  OR EMAIL: agsec@usda.gov

*Talking points for calls/emails below after #2

2. Call California Department of Food and  Agriculture Secretary A.G. Kawamura and ask him NOT to certify the apple moth EIR and to stop the LBAM program now.

- phone: 916-654-0433 OR email:akawamura@cdfa.ca.gov

*Talking points for calls/emails:

-the state environmental document on the program has just come out and includes the possibility of aerial spray of large populated areas of California

-the moth has been intercepted in CA since 1984, but the state can point to only 1 questionable incident of possible apple moth damage in the past 26  years

– the program is an enormous waste of taxpayer money in hard economic times

3. Call your local city councilmember or county supervisor and ask that the city council or county board immediately send a letter to Secretary Kawamura asking him to delay certification of the Environmental Impact Report (which could be certified as soon as Thursday, Mar. 4) until public hearings on the program are held in all affected communities.

*Model letter from City of Albany attached to this email.

4.  Call your state and federal representatives and ask them to support federal reclassification of the moth and ending of the apple moth quarantines and eradication program, and tell them that the eradication program is a complete waste of taxpayer money.

* some key contacts at end of this email

5.  Call the state departments of Public Health, Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, and Pesticide Regulation and ask them to contact Agriculture Secretary Kawamura to request that he not certify the environmental impact report until the full formulas of the apple moth pesticides, including the adjuvants or so-called inerts, are disclosed (and for good measure add that you think this program is a complete waste of taxpayer money).

California Department of Public Health:   Mark Horton. Director    916- 558-1700 [ASK TO LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR DR. MARK HORTON] mark.horton@cdph.ca.gov

Department of Pesticide Regulation   Mary Ann Warmerdam, Director  916-324-1452    mwarmerdam@cdpr.ca.gov

Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment: Joan Denton, Director   (916) 322-6325    jdenton@oehha.ca.gov

6.  Call or email the office of State Assemblymember Sandré Swanson and express your appreciation for his introduction of AB 1721, the School Healthy and Safety Protection Zones Act, which would establish pesticide spray safety zones around schools across the state.  Mr. Swanson’s office needs to know BY NEXT WEEK that we support his efforts, especially from residents of his district: Oakland, Alameda, and Piedmont.

Since 2006, LifeLock has promised in television and newspaper advertisements that it would protect customers from ID theft, but a complaint from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and 35 state attorneys general said the company over-promised what benefits it could provide.
The company’s $10-a-month subscription service provided some benefits, but “this was a fairly egregious case of deceptive advertising,” said Jon Leibowitz, the FTC’s chairman. “They promised protection, and they didn’t deliver.”
LifeLock’s service, focused on fraud alerts for new accounts set up in a customer’s name, could not protect customers from several types of ID theft, including misuse of existing credit accounts, Leibowitz said.
The company also told customers it encrypted their personal data and shared it between employees only on a “need-to-know” basis. However, LifeLock did not use encryption for personal data, the FTC said. The company’s system was vulnerable to attacks, the FTC alleged.
LifeLock is pleased with the settlement, which sets advertising guidelines in the ID theft protection industry, the company said. “We welcome federal and state efforts to regulate our industry, because doing so helps to protect consumers from the risks of identity theft,” said LifeLock Chairman and CEO Todd Davis in a statement.
More than 75 percent of LifeLock customers who enrolled in the first 18 months that the service was offered are still customers, Davis added. The company has prevented more than 5,000 fraudulent credit applications since it rolled out a new generation of its service in October, the company said.
“Because of LifeLock’s marketing efforts over the years, many more Americans now know of the risks of identity theft,” he said. “More than one and a half million consumers rely on us 24 hours a day to help protect their identities.”
One LifeLock TV ad showed a truck driving around a city with Davis’ Social Security number written in large numbers on the side of the truck. Davis was later a victim of ID theft.
One of LifeLock’s ads said its service prevented ID theft from “ever happening to you. Guaranteed.” But the FTC knows of “several hundred” LifeLock customers who were victims of ID theft after subscribing to the service, Leibowitz said during a press conference in Chicago.
“There is nothing you can do or purchase that will provide you with a 100 percent guarantee against being a victim of identity theft,” said Lisa Madigan, attorney general for Illinois. “But that doesn’t mean you should do nothing.”
U.S. residents can take several steps to help protect themselves against ID theft, including getting a free credit report once a year, Madigan said. But LifeLock sent prospective customers letters warning them they were at risk for ID theft.
“Don’t be scared into spending your hard-earned money,” Madigan said. “This is the typical tactic of scam artists.”
LifeLock, despite promising it would pay up to $1 million for any ID theft losses suffered by customers, did not pay out-of-pocket expenses that customers incurred in trying to resolve ID theft problems, Madigan said.
The company will pay $11 million to the FTC and $1 million to the states to resolve the complaints, the FTC said. The FTC money will be used to reimburse LifeLock customers, Leibowitz said.
LifeLock will stay in business, but must make clear to customers the limits of its protections, Leibowitz said.
The fraud alerts that LifeLock placed on customers’ credit files protected only against certain forms of identity theft and gave them no protection against the misuse of existing accounts, the most common type of identity theft, the FTC said. LifeLock’s service also did not protect customers against medical ID theft or employment ID theft, in which thieves use personal information to get medical care or apply for jobs, the FTC alleged.
The fraud alerts that LifeLock used to protect its customers can also be thwarted by ID thieves, the FTC said.
New account fraud, the type of identity theft for which fraud alerts are most effective, comprised only 17 percent of identity theft incidents, according to an FTC survey released in 2007.
LifeLock also said it would prevent unauthorized changes to customers’ address information, that it constantly monitored activity on customer credit reports, and that it would ensure that a customer always would receive a telephone call from a potential creditor before a new account was opened. Those claims were false, the FTC said.

You tell them Howie. Very eloquently spoken. Most of the people who support Anonz are horny women. I see him as an arrogant greedy unfulfilled man. He thrives on violence. So of course he’s out risking his life. What does he have to live for, he’s got almost all the money in the world and no woman to show for it.

He’s reduced to trying to seduce Zen Lill on a blog. The women get on your case for pointing out that he should use some of that money to make the world better. When my sister started ended all her arguments with me with “You’re no Anonz” I asked our mother what the hell she meant.

She told me to check out this blog. I have been reading if for six months off and on. Michelle you are a democrat slamming republicans. I’m an independent. To me neither party has any integrity.

The problem wit Obama is he has no balls. He tries to work with the republicans. He is like all the democratic presents before him except Clinton, totally without the killer instinct.

If Bush had had the kind of Congressional minorities that Obama has he would have rammed through any legislation he wanted. At this time during the Bush administration

At this time during the bush administration he had only 7 appointment held up. Obama has over 200. If the democrats had tried that with Bush, he would have told them that he would make all 200 appointments during recess.

What does Obama do? He tries to kiss republican ass and allows them to get away with it. I am giving my vote to the republican party in November because I want leadership that is strong.

My sister and Anonz can kiss my ass.

Unfortunately I do not live in California anymore, but I do remember the Mediterranean Fruit Fly and Spraying Malathion all over the place to protect California‘s agriculture which took place in the early 1980’s if I remember correctly.

The “MedFly” was the target and citizens had to breathe in the Malathion, which stuck to everything and also caused automobile paint to corrode.

People protested but the planes and helicopters took off and did their spraying anyway.

I wish you luck trying to stop it.

    Doug The Main Dude:
When you say “Nicely put Howie, nicely put,” does that mean that you agree with my take on Anonz? Or are you just saying that my comment was nicely put? Could you please answer in more depth?

I appreciate your openness with someone who is not politically correct on this blog all the time.

Thanks for the kudos. It seems that it is politically incorrect to imply or say anything negative about this Narcissistic Megalomaniac, Anonz on this blog.

I believe that both Democrat or Republican, the President is just a puppet for the Elite Billionaires who control the World and want a ‘New World Order’. They will probably get their new World Order in which the United States and the rest of the World will be directly controlled by these few Elite Billionaire Megalomaniacs.

There will be Super Rich and Super Poor. And the Wealthy will be our Royalty — commanding us to do their dirty work or the National Guard will be brought out to smash our heads and imprison us.

I believe President Obama is trying to do everything possible to change things for the better, but the foothold that Republicans have on us for the past 30 years make it nearly impossible.

We do not Agree on all things, but one thing is certain — the 4% Elite will remain the Elite. To hell with the 96% of the rest of us.

  6. Health Info Says:

ARE YOU A TYPE D PERSONALITY?

You’re probably aware of whether you tend toward a type A or type B personality, since those labels are part of our lexicon. What you may not know, however, is that there is a third type — type D — and it’s not a great category to find yourself in.

The D stands for distress, and a growing body of research links this personality type with a variety of health risks and even early death — so it may be especially important for these inhibited and gloomy folks to do everything they can to lighten up.

Remember Eeyore — the sad, self-conscious donkey character in Winnie-the-Pooh? To my mind, he is a perfect illustration of the type D personality. He always expected the worst and therefore, that’s what he usually got.

Traits associated with this personality type include social inhibition, a negative self-image, depressed mood, hostility, tension, chronic anger and a tendency to overreact to stressful events.

    TYPE D & DEATH RISK

It’s already known that having this type D personality elevates risk for people who have had heart attacks, cardiac bypass surgery and/or stent implants.

In new research from the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands, scientists set out to determine the impact of these characteristics on people with a common condition called peripheral artery disease (PAD), a circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs. People who have PAD have four to five times greater risk for heart attack and stroke.

Researchers asked 184 patients (average age 65) diagnosed with PAD to fill out a 14-item personality questionnaire to assess character traits, such as negativity and social inhibition.

They rated statements such as “I would rather keep people at a distance” and “I often find myself worrying about something” as false or true on a scale of zero to four. During the next four years, 16 patients (9%) died — six of cardiovascular disease, seven of cancer and one each from emphysema, pneumonia and acute pancreatitis.

After factoring in other variables such as age, gender, diabetes and kidney disease, investigators learned that those with type D personalities were more than three times as likely to have died as those who were Type A or B.

    HOW DISTRESS RAISES RISK

There are numerous pathways linking this particular personality type with poor health outcomes, I learned from study coauthor Johan Denollet, PhD, a professor of medical psychology at Tilburg University. Some are physical, other behavioral. For instance, Type D individuals tend to…

Experience chronic anxiety and negativity. Living in such a state has a variety of physical effects on your body, none beneficial.

Chronic stress drives up levels of inflammatory proteins called cytokines, which leads to increased oxidative stress and contributes to disease.

The adrenal glands respond to stress by pumping out cortisol, the hormone that helps us meet perceived threats. Having high and prolonged levels of cortisol in the bloodstream causes serious problems, including blood sugar imbalances, reduced immunity, slower wound healing and increased abdominal fat.

Have poor health habits. Research has shown that people with type D personalities often neglect their health by eating improperly, not having medical checkups and being sedentary.

Are unlikely to be proactive in seeking medical care. Perhaps because they are unable to express their emotions and are tense, insecure and uncomfortable in social situations, type D individuals are often slow to seek the medical help they need.

In one study, type D patients with chronic heart failure experienced more cardiac symptoms and worried more about them than other people but, paradoxically, were less likely to discuss them with health-care professionals

. Other research demonstrates that heart failure patients with “inadequate consultation behavior” face a six-fold increased risk for impaired health.

    WHAT CAN HELP

Generally speaking, you can’t change your personality — but if you recognize these traits in yourself or a loved one, there are plenty of things you can do to address the issues and minimize the impact on your health.

For example, Dr. Denollet notes that type D personalities are more likely to experience anxiety and depression — and points out that these can be managed to a significant degree with counseling and/or medication. Other strategies include…

Adopting healthier lifestyle behaviors, such as better diet and regular exercise.

Participating in programs or counseling to conquer addictions, such as smoking or alcohol abuse, or to improve social skills and learn to relax.

Using techniques such as guided imagery, breathing exercises, meditation, tai chi and yoga to help manage stress and mood and learn to control anger and hostility.

While you can’t change who you are, if you have a type D personality, you can take these concrete steps to make yourself healthier and, I’llbet, happier.

You are another male jealous of Anonz. How many horny women in the same room with you are interested in you? Yeah, the jealousy is reeking.

So you think a man gets money so he can have women? Typical male response. One of the reasons Anonz is admired by women on this blog is that he is not the typical male.

“He thrives on violence.” Could be interpreted to mean Envy from a man who himself is afraid to put his life on the line for a cause he believe in. Maybe not.

Why should Anonz use his money to “make the world better?” You don’t use your vote to do it. It is far easier for the “independents” in America to vote for the candidate that is not a republican since they are the party that is more closely tied to the special interest, and the party that is against health care, control of the financial industry, and military industrial complex.

If you can’t spare a vote that cost you noting bus some time at the polls. You are going to support the republicans because you “want leadership that is strong.”

It doesn’t matter that that “strong leadership” puts us in wars that are for profit; gives the banking industry carte blanche to loot the powerless customer at every opportunity, and to give tax breaks to the rich and corporations to send our jobs overseas. Under a non regulated financial industry, the number of millionaires is up 16%.

Why would you support a part that is basically shutting down the government to get back into power. Your reaction is to reward that party with your support and vote.

What do you think Anonz is doing? He is telling stupid people like you to get a clue. Vote for the other party. Vote for the party that is trying to regulate the people who are robbing you.

You like most stupid men see strength in arrogance that springs form knowing that you constituents are too stupid to understand that you are scaring them and selling out to special interest.

So while you are not willing to give your vote to the party that is fucking you up the ass because you smell their testosterone, you expect Anonz to give his hard earned money to you just because.

Your sister has you pegged right, “you’re no Anonz!”

I know that Anonz is real. He saved the lives of my family and many others of my village. You have a right to your opinion and in your country you can express it without fear of death.

You have that right because of people like Anonz that will put their lives on the line to guarantee you continue to have that right. Today he puts that same life on the line to give us one more of life so that we may hope to be one tenth as free as you are.

I have met him bloodied and severely injured, yet he refused to allow us to hide him in an area that the UN had designated a safety zone.

He said that if he or his men entered the area we would lose our safety status. He had gotten injured by putting his self and his men in front of a band or renegade arabs who were killing infidels. To them infidels are anyone non arab or non Muslim.

He saved us but he was injured and several of his men lost their lives. We carry pieces of the parts of his jeep as mementos of his bravery and respect for what he and his men did or us.

We love America because he has shown us that America stands of right. The right to live free of harassment by those who would differ with our choice of religion or race.

    Kill This Bill

    Dear Readers,

It has been over a year since President Obama announced his plans for comprehensive health reform.

Since the announcement, as Americans learned more and more about the Democrats’ health care bill, opposition to the left’s plans for big government health care have grown and grown.

It started with the explosion of outrage at town hall meetings over the bill’s cuts to Medicare to pay for new bureaucracies and programs.

It gained steam when Americans realized the frightening potential for “death panels” when you give government the power to deny care based on budgetary concerns.

And it reached critical mass when the corrupt manner in which the bill was being shoved through Congress was exposed to the American people.

However, despite all the polls showing that Americans want Congress to scrap the current bill and start over, it is now clear that Democratic leaders are bound and determined to ignore the will of the people.

President Obama has called for the House of Representatives to pass by March 18 the same bill the Senate passed in December.

We must stop this bill from passing.

We DO Need Real Reform, but NOT This Travesty of a Bill

To be clear, I passionately believe America’s health care system is badly in need of reform.

I founded the Center for Health Transformation seven years ago as a unique collaboration of doctors, hospitals, and industry leaders dedicated to developing a 21st century, personalized, intelligent health care system.

In this column, and in op-eds and books, I have written repeatedly about common sense, market-oriented solutions that would save lives and save money.

I have always put the focus on solutions when it came to health care because when it comes to an issue that means so much to so many Americans, I believe solving problems must rise above political posturing.

I have even taken heat from fellow conservatives for cooperating with leading Democrats to achieve health reforms we agree on, like greater use of health information technology. In fact, there are even some specific elements of the bill — like payment reform to reward quality care — with which I agree.

However, as someone who has dedicated the last decade of his life to fixing what’s broken in America’s health care system, and has reached across party lines to do so, I regrettably have to say that this bill will do vastly more harm than good.

It will raise the cost of health care for everyone through crushing new taxes.

It will reduce benefits for millions of senior citizens without fixing the underlying structural problems of Medicare that are leading the program towards bankruptcy.

It will put government bureaucrats at the center of our health care system, not doctors and patients.

Furthermore, as Mark Steyn and others have noted, if this bill becomes law there may be no going back from a more statist, more bureaucratic, more left-of-center political culture that would mean the demise of America as a unique civilization.

Don’t Let Speaker Pelosi Be the Only Voice Your Congressman Hears

So it all comes down to one final vote.

If Speaker Pelosi succeeds in twisting enough arms and making enough promises to get the votes she needs, President Obama could sign the left’s big government, big bureaucracy health bill into law the next day.

Right now, Speaker Pelosi has the ear of skeptical members of her caucus.

She’s trying to make your member of Congress forget about the unpopularity of the bill in their districts.

She’s distracting him or her with the siren song of Washington fundraisers and other big party politics.

Speaker Pelosi would have your representative listen to Washington insiders rather than you.

We need to break through the Washington bubble and remind Congress who is in charge.

Call your Member of Congress today.

Tell him or her to vote against the left’s big government health care bill. Then call all your friends and family and ask them to do the same.

Together we can kill this bill once and for all.

    Your friend,

    Newt Gingrich

    ========================
If Obama stops his stumping before the vote on health care, he could lose because the republicans and the $500 million advertising campaign by the health care industry has already convinced the majority of americans that the bill is going to be bad for them.

Oh dear, all the hoopla about Anonz again, I try hard not to comment about politics and Anonz here but I will today…Freda thanks for the starter program, you are so right on I cannot help but elaborate.

On a personal level, Ernie, just for the record, I am quite sure Anonz could have whatever woman he’d like, the fact that he has chosen to express a mutual admiration, respect and attraction with me from time to time is not exactly what I’d call ‘reduced to seducing women on blogs’ but you have at it with that opinion, we’re all entitled to one of those. I’ve also no intention of getting personal re: your bevy of lusting counterparts or the size of your… – ability to understand what would make a man like Anonz tick. And since you haven’t been reading for long, let me just state that a long time ago, I made mention to Anonz that he could give his bills away for all I care (although hanging on to 5-10M works for me, wouldn’t him want to be a streetperson just to prove something to me or anyone else) he set me striaght on that note re: why would I wnat to change him (he’s not trying to change me, a valid point, no?) and why would he give away his right to earn ridiculous amounts of money bc we’re too busy voting for moronic not to mention majorly hypocritical white males called rethugs (and men making 6 digits who think for half a sec they could be a player like Anonz by voting republican, ha, that’s like Mischa said yesterday, ‘they follow them like puppies…pathetic, grow a pair for heaven’s sake) that’s just my personal two – on a political level, he has stated (have you not read with clarity) that we are being fleeced by him and his ilk bc of who we vote for (uh, duh, that’d be ‘independents’ like you voting repug), I am also an Indy, so no offense to that part but why and how could you vote that way knowing that you lining not just yourself but everyone else up for more fleecing?

Is it so hard to believe that Anonz has the nobility most men only get to witness at the movies and secretly wish they could be like? But rather than just cop to it, you all come on here and make jeallous claims about him, OK there are women who write in simply ‘I love you’ and ‘you make me wet’ and all that, and that’s all well and good bc you know what, a man like Anonz who is out there with his ass on the line all the time is fucking super sexy, admit it, even when he writes in with a quickie on OPEC (which, Ernie, btw, that info should concern you more than the mans’ persona) does it not occur to you that he risks his life to send us info like that and other info people just cannot get via our bought and paid for news media? I blogged on that last year, check it out, every major news agency and media outlet in the stinkin’ world is owned by a handful of elites (there they are agian) and guess what, you get what info they want you to have, they even through in some cool ‘insider’ stuff so you think as an American that we are privy to more info than the rest of the world, please…open your eyes and ears.

Howie, I am in agreement with most of what you say but on this one, I don’t see and maybe bc I can keep my male ego out of it (I have ovaries and do not weave my female ego into what is reported here) where Anonz is any of the names/labels you and Ernie (and other men) feel so comfortable throwing around, now the part I do understand you taking issue with (and I admit sometimes I wish it were easier to take over here also) is the rubbing our noses in it but don’t you see that that’s what he’s doing, trying to get you to see…he’ll always make absurd amounts of money, but until we decide to snag back our right to pick who serves us and where in politics it’ll continue, what diff is it whether it is him? would it feel any better if T Boone Pickens wrote in and said I’m fleecing you also and I’m keeping at it till you vote differently?

I think I’ll stop now bc I really have to work to stay just ahead of my personal fleecing – check in later, Zen Lill

    My Sweet Lilly

I seldom have the time to read articles that mention my name. I mean no disrespect to the many who are much too complimentary to me and the precious ladies who have expressed their personal opinions. Please accept my sincere appreciation for your well wishes.

I would like to give a special thanks to the people of Darfar. You risked everything to drag me out of that jeep. I am speaking for all of my men when I say thank you with all our hearts. Some of us would never have made it without your bravery. I wept when I saw those starving kids pulling my men from those exploding vehicles.

We will return and keep returning until you can return to your homelands. What I did was from instinctive reaction from my military training. You are the true heros, because what you did was from the instinctive reaction of the good heart. If I measure up to that, I will consider myself the lucky one.

My Sweet Lilly you are the lioness every man dreams about. Thank you for taking my cause as your own.

As you pointed out, I see no reason for me to step aside from the profit trough and allow someone else to take my place.

Rather than complain about us feeding at the trough, remove it.

Destroy it by; (1) insisting that special interest groups not be allowed to lobby congress. (2) Out law PAC’s political contributions (3) get your Congress to fix the opinion rendered by the bought and paid for 6 of the Supreme Court who ruled that corporations can spend as much as they want on political issues and candidates.

I can now buy any candidate in either House. I can influence any law to my benefit. I can influence you and most americans to believe what I wish about any issue. Your crooked Supreme Court gave me the right to spend any amount of money to influence the passage or any issue.

Criticizing me may make you feel good, but it has no affect on anything I do. Voting to eliminate the people who keep the likes of me from being regulated would be effective in stopping me from profiting at your expense.

But I have no fear of that because you secretly envy the money and power I have. You dream of being one of us, so you allow us to have unfettered access to to the profit trough.

Sure I have more money that I will every be able to spend, but if you are too stupid to regulate me, and too stupid to make me pay my fair share of taxes, and if you continue to allow me to set up corporations with all the rights of a living person, I WILL CONTINUE TO GET RICHER AT YOUR EXPENSE.

And unfortunately, I will continue to brag, boast, be in your face about your STUPIDITY. Deciding whether to rant against me or to vote against me will determine whether you will wise up or remain a mat for me to wipe my feet on as I stroll to that feeding trough.

My 83 year old mother started voting again so she could vote for Hilary. I have been trying to get her to try a computer so that she would not be so alone. She has outlived all her relatives except me.

So about a year ago shortly after the election, I introduced her to Michelle’s blog. She liked it but not enough to make her want to get her own computer. She was content to wait until I came over and let her catch up on the one’s she missed.

She occasionally commented on articles written by you and she would passionately defend the things you said. So I decided to make a collection of your comments on Michelle’s blog to show her.

For the first that i remember I lied a little to her, I told her that I did not have the time to find all your contributions, but I was giving her the ones I agreed with. Within 4 days of reading your comments, she called an Apple store and ordered a computer. She asked the Senior for Seniors organization in our neighbor to help her learn to use her new apple.

My mother is now using her computer to do so many things, I actually am amazed. She has made friends and she is emailing me whenever she gets those religious pass me on spams with rage that has brought back that personally I grew up with.

Anonz she absolutely loves you. I know she will recognize me so mom aren’t you glad I lied to get you to get your computer.

I was so angry when Hilary that refused to vote in the Presidential election. How I wish I could take that back.
My anger stemmed from my feelings that I would never live to see a woman President.

Where your anger with Anonz comes from I don’t know. But I would ask you if you read unemotionally Anonz’s comments.

Take his last one. Anyone would weep from his words. They come from a part of the human essence that defies selfishness.

His message is simple. Stop me if you don’t like what I am doing, but don’t ask me to stop it because you don’t like it.

I can see why he is coveted and loved my this blog. He is a Paladin.

  20. Oscar Says:

Just this once I will agree with the women on this blog. Anonz has and is challenging us to regulate him and the faction he represents.

Our anger and attention should be to accomplish just that. Regulation of all the people and businesses that are part of the financial sector.

It does no good to throw verbal stones at Anonz. If we threw real stones and killed him, some other greed bastard who take his place.

He is not my favorite guy. But he is correct when he states that the US supreme court has made it possible and legal for him to buy any politician he wants.

Hell he can force a politician to do his bidding by telling him that he would spend a few hundred million supporting the opposition if he didn’t vote as he wanted him to.

How many of us would not change our minds for tens of millions much less a hew hundred million dollars?

For that kind of money I’d change my vote. It is not like the people deserve any better since they consistently support the republican party.

HOW TO BE A HAPPY DIETER: HIGH-CARB WEIGHT LOSS

Must a weight-loss diet make you feel grumpy and deprived? Not if you eat certain kinds of foods, says Australian research scientist Grant D. Brinkworth, PhD.

In a year-long study, Dr. Brinkworth explored how two popular types of diet affect mood, with regular scheduled assessments at eight, 24, 40 and 52 weeks. He gathered 106 overweight and obese adults, average age of 50, and randomly assigned them to one of two diets.

The first was high-fat, low-carb — à la the Atkins diet… while the other was exactly the opposite — high-carb, low-fat. Both diets counted calories and allowed dieters to eat within the range of 1,400 to 1,700/day.

At the end of the study year, members of both groups had lost, on average, 30.2 pounds — enough to please most any dieter. But how did the dieters in the two groups feel?

    MOOD AND YOUR FOOD

Using three different assessment tools, researchers found that both groups showed improved mood at eight weeks, but the good feelings continued throughout the year only for the high-carb group.

Indeed, at the end of the year these men and women remained happier than the high-fat dieters who, though they had succeeded in losing as much weight, had returned to their pre-diet low spirits.

When I contacted Dr. Brinkworth about his study, he told me that both groups were told to follow the diets precisely for the first eight weeks, but after that were allowed to make some food exchanges so they could enjoy some (though limited) flexibility and choice.

Overall, the high-fat group was allowed more than twice as much beef, chicken and fish, plus full-fat dairy products (versus reduced or nonfat for the high-carb dieters).

On the other hand, high-carb dieters had far more foods to choose from and also were allowed to eat what lots of us call “comfort foods” in the form of a potato three times a week, pasta or rice four times a week, and beans or lentils twice a week.

    WHY? SOME THEORIES

Dr. Brinkworth says the exact mechanism for how foods affect mood is unknown, but one possibility is that a very low-carb diet is a substantially different way to eat for many people, and repeatedly denying themselves the carbs they’ve enjoyed over the years affects mood.

Another possibility — carbs can increase mood-enhancing serotonin concentrations in the brain, compared with eating additional fat and proteins which has the opposite effect. However, Dr. Brinkworth says the study didn’t measure this variable.

The “take-home”? Pay attention to how you feel so you’ll be more likely to stay with your diet. Dr. Brinkworth told me that people who are used to having comfort foods should factor them into their weight loss plan in small amounts, while those who love a good steak can and should work that preference into their diet as well.

Even voting for someone different won’t change anything until we eliminate Lobby groups, have term limits, and serious campaign finance reforms installed, and more. That probably won’t even change anything. It will affect some things, but what must change is the system itself that is at fault. The apex underlying problem which faces the entire planet. The monetary system. This system, which is based on debt and interest has created the largest slave, and indentured servitude the world has ever seen. No other system, government or party comes close. As long as corporations can act like humans, except with no empathy or conscience, things will remain as is, no matter who you vote for. There will be slight changes every few years or decades, but things will return to “the norm” of corruption.

Back in the American slavery days the plantation owners had to take care of their people(?) as they were an investment, tools so to speak. House them, feed them, keep them healthy. In today’s day the people have to take care of themselves. The corporations have become the slave owners. The people work for the institutions that they then pay for their same services of housing, food, and health. In essence becoming indentured servants on a global scale. There used to be a time when one could raise their own food and eat. Now, with Mansanto, Cargil, ADM and others we have become slaves to their seeds and corporate industrialized farming. All created through a debt based system designed through the global banking system, the World Bank, the IMF and such.

As long as this society runs on a system that is based on debt and interest this world will be forever corrupted and include an elite and low class. Which ever class you are in now, odds are you will stay there. Play the lotto…

When the Treasury can print money from nothing, and out of that printing debt is created in such a multiple fashion to infinity, and as long as there are people in the world to socially stifle using debt creation the world will remain as it is.

What must be understood is that Anonz is simply privy to be of the small group (maybe 100-1000 people on the planet) with the capability to manipulate the system itself. They will do so by writing and rewriting the rules of the game to their benefit. He says to elect people that will stop this, however, in a debt based system they will always find someone who will sell their vote their way.

The system that must change is the monetary system. The financial systems from the Fed, to the IMF, to the World Bank on down through the various other entities and governments of the world that perpetuate the global indentured servitude. They are tied to the monetary system. It’s not even the dollar, as that is also a simple near valueless ingredient that will be replaced with another currency at some point.

As long as our society is structured from a negative based, or debt based structure, no one is free, not even the markets themselves. Not even Anonz. Although, his prison to the system is much different that anyone else.
