The Interview: Maddow Interviews Secretary Geithner
Posted by Michelle Moquin on March 18th, 2010
Rachel Rocks. Why is it that she asks all the questions that no one else has the guts to ask or even bothers to care to ask? I’m tired of the media tiptoeing. Rachel’s tenacious about getting to the truth. Here’s an interview that she did with Timothy Geithner, Secretary of Treasury, about his role as then head of the Fed, when the economy collapsed, asking all the questions that have been on my mind, and I’m sure yours.

Not enough? Here’s more of Maddow telling it like it is. This one’s well worth your time too.

Roy: I would love to see the photos of Obama in Australia. If you send them, I will post them. E-me.
Emily: Loved ‘the silent treatment’ :)
Onile: I will focus a write in regards to the coming elections in Darfur and make the same request from my readers. Thank you.
Lorrie: Great Suggestion. Are you on it to make that happen? :)
Kitty: I have read horror stories of people disappearing in Mexico. I am so sorry about your sister and her friends. I hope that they are found.
Yolanda: Sorry, nothing can be done. Keep trying.
Shanira: Your story has me thoroughly disgusted. White racists treat otws as if they are not people, not human and yet when it comes to their own livelihood, “Sure…I’ll take one of their (otws) hearts if it’ll save my life.” Your story is one of the many atrocities of otws that I have heard that is being hidden from the general public, not to mention when a story is told, the truth is covered up with lies.
Dr. Charles drew comes to my mind when I read your story. He was a black man, an American medical doctor and surgeon who started the idea of a blood bank and a system for the long-term preservation of blood plasma (he found that plasma kept longer than whole blood). His ideas revolutionized the medical profession and have saved many, many lives. If you google his name, every story you read will say that is it a ‘legend’ that he died from being refused a blood transfusion. The truth is, he died because a white-only hospital refused to give him a blood transfusion to save his life. Here’s one story that hides the truth:
Dr. Drew set up and operated the blood plasma bank at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, NY. Drew’s project was the model for the Red Cross’ system of blood banks, of which he became the first director. Drew resigned his position as director after the US War Department issued a directive stating that blood taken from white donors should not be mixed with blood taken from black donors. Dr. Drew strongly objected, and stated “the blood of individual human beings may differ by blood groupings, but there is absolutely no scientific basis to indicate any difference in human blood from race to race.” Dr. Drew also formed Britain’s blood bank system.
Dr. Drew died on April 1, 1950, after a car accident in in rural North Carolina. Although there is a legend that he died as a result of being denied a blood transfusion and medical care from a “whites-only” hospital, Dr. Drew got immediate medical attention, in part from the other doctors (his friends) who were in the car accident with him (but were less severely injured). Dr. Drew was admitted to a mixed-race hospital, but died after being treated for massive internal injuries. A U.S. postage stamp was issued in 1981 to honor Dr. Drew.
Can you imagine? This man’s ideas revolutionized the medical profession….saving many, many lives, and he dies because he doesn’t have access to his own brilliance, access to care, because of one reason: racist whites.
Todd: Thank you for asking and respecting my rights. And no, I do not mind you quoting me from time to time. I hope that your students enjoy them as well.
Josef: I hear you. What are you going to do about it?
Emily: Love the visual.
Health Info: Thank you. :)
Mike: People do read the bull, and it looked blocked (?) to me. It was an easy read – thanks.
Zen Lill: Thanks for the call – I had a rough day. I”m in a seminar all day today but I will try calling you.
Readers: Thank you for honoring my request.

Protect Yourself From Pharmacy Drug Errors
David Wood
At least 1.5 million patients annually in the US are harmed or killed by prescription drug errors.
Major causes: Doctors’ poor handwriting that is misread by pharmacists… distractions that cause doctors and pharmacists, as well as nurses and other caregivers — including those working in hospitals — to make mistakes.
Self-defense: Know your prescription and its purpose…
Ask your doctor the exact name of the drug and its dosage. Check the name and dosage on the label when you receive it.
Ask your doctor to write the purpose of the drug on the prescription form — the pharmacist will be alerted if the purpose doesn’t fit the name of the drug.
If your doctor sends a prescription to a pharmacy electronically, get a copy for yourself.
If a drug bottle arrives in a box or other packaging, check to be sure the label on the bottle matches that on the packaging.
Take your prescription to the pharmacist during his/her off-peak hours. Then talk to the pharmacist to verify it and to ask any questions you have.
Key: During off-peak hours, the pharmacist is more free to talk — and less likely to be rushed and could cause a mistake.
Learn about drugs that are prescribed to you from online sources.
Good sites: Drugs.com (www.drugs.com)… RxList (www.rxlist.com).
For other online sources of information about a particular drug, enter its name in the Web search engine of your choice.

The Islands around Guam will feel the heat if there is not cooperation. Let the fires begin. There will be no rain until we say there will be. From grass to forest fires. Drinking water shortages will bring cooperation or…..

Little Johnnie’s neighbor had a baby.
Unfortunately, the baby was born without ears.
When mother and new baby came home from the hospital, Johnnie’s family was invited over to see the baby.
Before they left their house, Little
Johnnie’s dad had a talk with him and explained that the baby had no ears.
His dad also told him that if he so much mentioned anything about the baby’s missing ears or even said the word ears, he would get the smacking of his life when they came back home.
Little Johnnie told his dad he understood completely.
When Johnnie looked in the crib he said, ‘What a beautiful baby.’ The mother said,’Why, thank you, Johnnie.
Johnnie said, ‘He has beautiful little feet and beautiful little hands, a cute little nose and really beautiful eyes. Can he see alright?’
‘Yes’, the mother replied, ‘we are so thankful; the Doctor said he will have 20/20 vision.’
‘That’s great’, said Little Johnnie,’cuz he’d be screwed if he needed glasses’.

Washington man electrocuted by urinating on power line
By The Associated Press
March 01, 2010, 2:28PM
An Elma, Wash., man was killed by accidentally urinating on a downed power line after a one-car crash near Montesano.
Grays Harbor County sheriff’s Deputy Dave Pimentel said Monday that Roy Messenger, 50, was not seriously hurt after he collided with a power pole Friday night. Messenger called a relative to pull his car out of the ditch.
When family members arrived they found Messenger electrocuted. Pimentel said Messenger apparently urinated into a roadside ditch but didn’t see the live wire.
Pimentel said there will be an autopsy but burn marks indicated the way the electricity traveled through Messenger’s body.

I know I may have told this story before, but I like it. I think it is so funny. Here are two related comments.
1. Comment (1) I thought this might be a contender for the Darwin Awards (and it might still be) but why would a live electrical wire be in a ditch? Lawyers might want to investigate.
2. Comment (2) He ran into a utility pole and that’s what caused the power line to be down in the ditch
3. Comment (3) Maybe because, according to the story, he collided with a POWER POLE. There are usually live wires attached to a power pole. Just saying

Q: I have all of my savings in the bank I’ve used for many years. With all of the problems in the banking industry, how do I keep my money safe?
A: Maximize FDIC insurance coverage by funding a variety of bank accounts. The coverage, previously capped at $100,000 per person for individual savings or checking accounts, has been increased to $250,000 through December 31, 2009, with the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008
– but the FDIC also now insures up to $250,000 per person in joint accounts. In addition, it insures retirement accounts for up to $250,000 and trust accounts for an additional $250,000 per beneficiary.
So a married couple could have separate individual accounts, a joint savings account, separate retirement accounts and two trust accounts — each naming the other spouse as a beneficiary — and be covered by FDIC insurance up to $2 million.
And that’s at just one bank. This procedure can be repeated at as many FDIC-insured institutions as your assets permit. Note: Changing how your name is listed on accounts does not give you more coverage.

I am a court reporter. I thought you would like to hear just how stupid those lawyers you hire and put so much trust in are.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This is from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are supposedly things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters.
