Blog Biz
Posted by Michelle Moquin on March 17th, 2010
Good morning everyone. So many topics on the table this morning. We’ll see what I feel like chatting about, but Blog Biz first.
I need to address some of the articles/comments that are being posted. I know that many of you are just trying to get a presence on my blog and really any opportunity to post, if even just once. So you might not be paying attention to the end result: the formatting of your article.
I don’t know about any of my readers, but if any of you are like me, I have a real difficult time reading long paragraphs, in addition to no spaces between the paragraphs. So much of the information that all of you post is so terrific and informative, but I can tell you now, I am not reading half of them because of the presentation. It is visually overwhelming.
Yesterday I went in and cleaned up some of the articles by making the paragraphs shorter – those of you who posted the originals may have noticed. Note: I did not edit. I only shortened the paragraphs and added spaces between them. And FYI, I did this very haphazardly – it was strictly for visual purposes.
But I can promise you that is not going to happen again. I have barely time to edit my own writes, changing my grammatical errors and misuse of words. So reformatting your articles so that I can read them just isn’t going to happen.
My suggestion, in your excitement and anticipation of seeing your writes on my blog, is to take a bit more time and make sure that what you are presenting to me and my readers is readable. Please when you copy and paste, check your formatting and make the appropriate changes before you post. Michael’s write was a great example of easy to read, good formatting.
It is no good rushing to post your very important and informative article onto my blog, and then not have it be read because it is too difficult to read. People read and take in information differently now then we used to. Let’s be conscious of that so that our efforts go the distance. Okay? Enough and probably more than enough said.
Secondly, ‘Waiting in Moderation’ means that your comment is accepted but you have too many links attached to your article. I only allow one link per comment - this prevents spammers from getting in and posting. If you attach more than one link your comment will go into ’Waiting in Moderation’ and it will only be posted when I check my blog and ‘accept’ the comment. Note: I am not on my blog all day, so it could be in ’Waiting in Moderation’ all day until the evening when I check. However, I do check this section daily.
Michael: As I mentioned, your write was a pleasure to read, not only from a visual perspective but more importantly from a content point of view. Talk about having a good grip on reality. You are very insightful in your observations.
I agree with your assessment on Obama’s actions and have said a few times myself that Obama knows he needs to secure the 44% of the white votes to secure his second term where he can and will really kick ass. But never have I articulated it so brilliantly, or taken it to the depth that you have. Thanks for taking the time to do just that and for voicing your views and opinions so concisely. I look forward to more from you.
Well…I’ll leave the chatting up to you – That’s it from me today. Carry on as usual…
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my ‘loyal’(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle

Your article about Henritta Lacks brings back to mind the loss of my brother to a heart transplant. He was a forced volunteer. The doctor that removed his heart said that he died in a car accident.
My brother was 17 at the time and could not drive. We were too poor to have a car. Many young men and women began to have suspicious accidents that spared their hearts. All seemed to have pre-signed papers donating their body parts to science.
Earlier disappearances that began some twenty years back had alerted most African moms to advise their children not to sign any such documents to prevent them from being murdered for their body parts.
Often employers would trick the illiterate into signing such documents along with other papers that allowed blacks to travel through white only neighborhoods on their way to work.
Every country that was under white dictatorship used black children’s body’s at will to gain experience in various transplant operations. White doctors would fly in from all over the world to participate and learn how to do the different kinds of transplants.
We were treated no different that the Jews were by the Nazis doctors. The only difference is there are no records that show their cruelty to our people. The rest of the white world has a vested interest in helping the murders to keep their secrets.
The only record that remains is the grief of the living for the loved ones lost to white indifference to the lives of OTWS.

You have been so right about the things you notice. I read that the President of Taiwan stayed on Guam at least an hour supposedly waiting for his plane to refuel.
——————————————————
Taiwan President To Make 1 Hour Refueling Stop On Guam Monday
Guam – President Ma Ying-jeou will make a one-hour refueling stop on Guam this coming Monday,
the same day that U.S. President Barak Obama arrives.
The time of the arrival has not been revealed, but last weekend President Ma said he would be gone by the time that President Obama arrives and they will not meet.
President Ma is on a week-long trip to the 6 Pacific Island nations that grant diplomatic recognition to Taiwan.
He’ll also make another refueling stop on his way back on Saturday March 27th.
According to a report on focustaiwan.tw, Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Timothy Yang said his 90-person entourage will make a 60-minute stop Monday.
Read the posting on focustaiwan.tw
Ma’s first trip to the Pacific since he assumed office in May 2008 will take him to the Solomon Islands, Palau, the Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Nauru and Tuvalu from March 21-27.

FDA takes aim at serving sizes
The feds won’t go after common dangerous drugs… or toxic chemicals used in food and drink containers.
But the Food and Drug Administration will go after food… Sort of.
Don’t get too excited–they’re not taking long-overdue action against toxic additives and artificial sweeteners, or finally realizing that all the diet advice dished out over the years has been flat-out wrong and unhealthy.
That would be a little too much like doing real work, and we know how much bureaucrats hate real work. Besides, just like the feds need to bow to Big Pharma and kowtow to the chemical giants, they wouldn’t dare risk their food- industry friendships.
So they’re going after serving sizes, finally recognizing that the amounts of food used on nutritional labels don’t come close to what most people really eat in a single sitting.
Talk about screwy priorities. Of all the food and drug problems out there–and there are quite a few–I don’t think this would even make the first page of anyone’s list.
We can all agree that the serving sizes used on food labels are hopelessly unrealistic… take the Oreo cookie. One serving is just three cookies. For “Double Stuff” Oreos, it’s two cookies. Do you know anyone who quits at two cookies?
And how many people really get four servings out of a pint of ice cream? Most of us are lucky if we can avoid eating the whole thing in one sitting. If you want some laughs, take a look at comic Brian Regan’s view of serving sizes.
But let’s be completely honest here–the real problem isn’t the serving size. It’s what we’re serving ourselves in the first place, like those Oreo cookies. The only truly healthy serving of those is zero, but changing the label information isn’t going to stop any real-life cookie monsters from turning a pile of Oreos into a plate of crumbs.
Most of us who have unhealthy eating habits don’t need to change how much bad food we eat… we need to reinvent our dinner plates, before the junk on it kills us. Calorie counting works–eat less and you’ll lose weight, it’s pretty simple–but it’s only a successful long-term strategy for the small percentage of people with great discipline.
Everyone else ends up frustrated on those low-fat calorie- counting diets. After a while, that frustration turns to failure when they give up and revert back to the same bad eating habits that got them into trouble in the first place.
That’s what makes a low-carbohydrate diet ideal for so many people–there’s no real need to count calories or worry about portion sizes if you’re strict about keeping the carbs–especially sugar–off your plate.
And since the best low-carb diets are based on fresh meats and vegetables, you don’t have to worry about interpreting labels–because there are no labels to interpret.
If calorie counting isn’t for you, maybe it’s time to skip all that math and talk to your doctor about switching to a low-carbohydrate lifestyle.
It’ll work for you and it’ll work for the teen in your life – but here’s one thing that won’t: Diabetes drugs. Keep reading…

Here is the attack on the AARP by the right because they said that the Health Care legislation makes sense.
—————————————————-
Did you know…. If you’re a conservative and belong to the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), .you’re actually funding Barack Obama’s radical agenda to change America into an all-powerful Socialist State.
Sure, as a member of AARP you receive some great benefits: discounts at hotels, motels, movie theaters; automobile service, reduced insurance etc.
As one conservative Republican boasted:
“I joined for the discounts. The first time I stayed in a motel, the membership paid for itself.”
But, you also get something else in the bargain – an army of lobbyists whose agenda is almost identical to that of the AFL-CIO, Ralph Nader and the liberal wing of the Democratic Party.
Barry Rand, AARP’s left-wing CEO, contributed $8,900 to Obama in 2008; the very man pushing the most radical agenda ever proposed by an American president.
Essentially, Rand is also thumbing his nose at folks like you.
Did you know that AARP also supports ObamaCare which calls for drastic cuts in Medicare benefits?
Did you know that AARP supports the death tax? Did you know that AARP supports a variety of other left-wing causes?
But most importantly, did you know you don’t have to give your hard-earned money to AARP… did you know your hard-earned money doesn’t have to go to an organization that supports the radical left-wing agenda?
Now you have a choice. You can rip up your AARP card today and join Conservative50Plus, an organization that can offer you many of the same benefits as AARP and you can know that your hard-earned money will go to an organization that supports your agenda.

Solar-powered sex
If you’re looking to bring some fire back to your sex life, there may be no better source of all-natural heat than the sun.
I’m not being cute… there’s emerging evidence that the sun may help improve testosterone levels in men–boosting not only the desire, but also the ability.
Austrian researchers found what appears to be a link between vitamin D production and testosterone. In a study of 2,299 men published in Clinical Endocrinology, the researchers found that men with the most vitamin D also had the most testosterone.
Not only that, but the two hormones–yes, vitamin D is a hormone–rose and fell together with the seasons, peaking in August and bottoming out in March.
In other words, all the sex drugs in the world may not be as effective as something that’s literally out of this world.
That’s something to celebrate… because sex drugs are a mistake. I’ve told you before about some of the problems with these meds: headaches, vision problems, hearing loss, difficulty breathing and–of course–those notorious and painful prolonged erections.
Those drug-inducted erections that just won’t go away are called priapisms, and require a trip to the emergency room. Needles and even scalpels are often involved in the treatment–trust me, it’s a risk you don’t want to even think about, much less take.
Especially not when you have other options.
If you’re already fairly robust–congratulations. You’re most of the way there. If you find you need a boost to get things working the way they used to, get some sun and eat more food with zinc. If you still need some help, see a natural doctor about testosterone injections.
If you’re out of shape, you have a little more work to do. Sorry, but there’s no magic pill–you’ll need to eat better and get yourself moving again before your sex life is really ready for a comeback.
But once you get healthy, you’ll be surprised at how many parts start working better… including your manhood.
As I told you just a few weeks ago, sex doesn’t just feel good. It has real health benefits, too. Men who have sex more often even have a lower risk for heart attack and heart disease.
So whether it takes a little more time in the sun or some extra work getting yourself back into shape, get it done so you can get back to doing it.

Howie:
The amazing thing is that if Heniretta Lacks were a white woman, She would be known worldwide. But as usual the Whites don’t want to encourage the OTWs, especially black Americans, that they have made any significant contribution to the human civilization.
And then there is the question of how she really died, if the body given to the family was really hers and whether she had cancer or that the constant removal of her body tissues caused her death.
Remember the syphilis experiments on all those black men. This was about that time. It appears we were being used just as the Germans used the Jews, as disposable experiments to improve the lives of white people.
Let’s not forget that heart transplants began in South Africa with black people dying with such good hearts that they made for many trial transplants. No one is telling how many white doctors from all over the globe went to South Africa to learn first hand how to do a heart transplant.

Explain to me again why the Ukraine is interested in Guam.
==============================
Valeri Chechelashvili: GUAM has very serious prospects
Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. “I have not had an opportunity to hold discussions with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich on GUAM prospects. First of all the new government should be established. After the new government is formed in Ukraine we will hold discussions with the new foreign minister about the prospects of GUAM. Only after that we can know the priorities and opinion of Ukrainian President,” GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili told APA’s Georgia bureau. Secretary General said GUAM’s relations with Ukraine will remain normal.
“No serious political force in Ukraine doubts the country’s course of European integration. If it hadn’t been so, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich would not have paid his first visit to Brussels,” he said.
Valeri Chechelashvili underlined that he seriously assessed GUAM’s prospects.
“We have gained great achievements and will improve the relations more. We will implement new projects. It first of all includes development of free trade zone, activation of struggle against organized crimes, development of joint tourism potential. These projects have already produced their positive results. The program adopted in the Baku summit paves the way for the development of the relations. We will activate our work more in the world,” he said.

THE BRAIN-SHRINKING DIET
Not only can the foods you eat affect the size of your body, they also can affect the size of your brain. That’s what researchers discovered when searching for a connection between food and Alzheimer’s disease. Researchers in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK recently conducted a mouse study investigating four types of diet to see if any of them triggered brain plaque formation, the hallmark sign of Alzheimer’s that also leads to brain shrinkage. What they discovered came as quite a surprise.
The mice, which had been bred with a vulnerability for developing Alzheimer’s, were divided into four groups, and each fed one of the following four diets…
Standard commercial mouse chow (58% carbs, 29% protein, 13% fat)
A high-fat/low-carb version of the chow that was standardized at 60% fat, 30% protein, 10% carbs
High-protein/low-carb chow (60% protein, 30% fat, 10% carbs)
High-carb/low-fat chow (60% carbs, 30% protein, 10% fat)
BRAIN FOOD
After 14 weeks, researchers studied the brains of the mice. Previous research had shown that a high-fat diet increases the amount of amyloid beta protein (the main constituent of Alzheimer’s plaques) in the brain, and this study found that, too — but interestingly, this did not translate to an increase in plaque itself. Another finding was that the high-protein/low-carb diet was associated with a tendency to lose nerve cells from the hippocampus, the area of the brain where memory resides. That’s interesting in itself — but what really astonished the scientists was that in the course of the 14-week study, the brains of the same high-protein/low-carb group of mice had shrunk. They weighed 5% less than the brains in all other groups.
The lead author on this study is Sam Gandy, MD, professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and a neurologist at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx. Dr. Gandy told me that it isn’t unusual for people’s brains to shrink very slightly (less than 1%) as they age, but the 5% brain shrinkage as seen in this group of mice is a considerable decrease. Dr. Gandy told me that how problematic this is depends on what part of the brain was diminished. He said that his team plans to study these findings further — including whether the type of protein eaten makes a difference. In the meaintime, keep your diet properly balanced. Weight loss at the cost of brain volume is not a good trade-off.

Guam – SNAP, a national support group for victims of sexual abuse by Catholic priests, is sending a representative to Guam.
In a release, Joelle Casteix says she will arrive on Guam on Monday evening, March 22, the same day that President Barak Obama is slated to arrive.
Casteix is the Southwest Regional Director of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAPNetwork.org), the nation’s largest and oldest support group for men and women who have been sexually abused in religious organizations.
She began doing work for Guam’s sex abuse victims when numerous men from Guam reached out for her asking for help.
The release states that Casteix is fulfilling a pledge to help child sex abuse victims on Guam.
When she is hear, Casteix says she will:
– hold confidential support group meetings,
– schedule drop-in hours for concerned victims and supporters, and
– organize public events to draw attention to and foster an open dialogue about the issue of child sex abuse in the Archdiocese of Agana.
Casteix says she is a survivor of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. She plans on having at least one confidential support group meeting for survivors of clergy sexual abuse on Tuesday evening March 23 at 7:30 pm (location TBD), where victims can find fellowship, support, healing and empowerment in a confidential peer environment.
In addition, she plans on hold confidential “drop-in” hours for survivors and supporters who are unable or uncomfortable attending a meeting.
“It’s time for Guam’s survivors to know that they are not alone, the abuse was not their fault, and that they can get empowerment, help and healing,” David Clohessy, SNAP National Director said. ”We’re just sorry that it has taken us so long to visit Guam and start the process.”
Casteix also plans two to three media events and will attempt to post information about SNAP in churches and community centers.
More information on times and locations of events and meetings will be released as they become available. Survivors with questions about events, SNAP, or confidential support group meetings may contact Joelle Casteix at (949) 322-7434, jcasteix@gmail.com or visit http://www.SNAPnetwork.org.

One would think the archbishop would have his hands full rounding up the abusers and helping the abused.

India consul general on Guam
by Heather Hauswirth
Guam – The Consul General for India working out of the San Francisco Consulate Office, Susmita Thomas, is on island for what she says was meant to be a courtesy visit as Guam falls under her jurisdiction.
Thomas met with Governor Felix Camacho for an hour this morning and discussed the numerous opportunities and potential for developing a partnership between Guam and India as the military buildup gets underway.
“In the discussions that took place this morning we had a very good identification of the potentials for both sides the fact that there was a need for Guam, which is developing rapidly now under a particular scheme coming to force that needs a lot of manpower especially technically qualified English speaking manpower,” said Thomas.
Thomas says she has extended an invitation to the governor to go to India with a trade delegation.

I got this Steve Forbes letter. The repubs are going for a twofer. First they scare us into believing in a labor take over. Then they hit us up for a donation.
Why the right supporters are so afraid of Labor is mind boggling. I can understand the corporations and big businesses stand. But what I can’t wrap my mind around is why the party regulars are willing to vote against the unions that support their cause in the work place.
It seems the same people who can be duped into fighting preventing insurance from ripping them off can be duped into voting against their own best interest on a variety of other issues.
Must be that white neurosis Michael told us about. That is one powerful disease.
Mike
I know this is a long con letter You don’t have to read it all after a couple of lines you’ll get the gist. I printed it all for accuracy. I wouldn’t want them to later say that I alter their bullshit.
=============================
Dear Concerned American:
“I owe these unions.”
President Barack Obama couldn’t have stated it any more clearly.
And after spending a cool BILLION dollars to put their political cronies in positions of power in Washington, D.C., the union bosses couldn’t agree more.
They want PAYBACK.
After all, Barack Obama and the rest of Big Labor’s allies have already promised, “What Big Labor wants, Big Labor GETS!”
That’s why it’s vital you sign the survey below putting yourself squarely on record OPPOSED to the union bosses’ Card Check Forced Unionism Bill — and the rest of Big Labor’s agenda — IMMEDIATELY.
You see, you and I may not have much time.
Now that Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat has flipped and the union bosses see their massive union-label majorities slipping away, they are pushing harder than ever to pass the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill before the 2010 elections.
That’s why it’s vital you act today!
As you know, if “Card Check” passes, workers would no longer be able to vote for or against union boss “representation” in a secret ballot election.
Instead, the union bosses would intimidate workers one-on-one — or three-on-one — into signing so-called “union authorization cards.”
And, of course, Big Labor has yet another ticking time bomb hidden in the “Card Check” legislation.
If the union bosses can drag out negotiations with an employer past 90 days by making outrageous demands, Obama Administration bureaucrats will have the power to use this so-called “problem” as an excuse to write a new labor contract and force its terms and conditions of employment upon those workers.
So you see, not only does Big Labor want to strip workers of the right to a secret ballot but also of the right to vote on their own contracts as well!
That’s why your immediate help is so vital.
You see, Big Labor has another trick up its sleeve to make doubly sure “Card Check” is rammed into law.
And that’s a “Trojan Horse” version of the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill that’s supposedly harmless if you believe the laughable stories coming from Big Labor’s mouthpieces in the national media.
But don’t be fooled.
The “Trojan Horse” version is every bit as damaging to American workers, jobs and our fragile economy.
Plain and simple, this is nothing more than a ploy by Big Labor to trick fence-riding Senators into caving in and jumping on board.
In fact, quoted in the People’s Weekly World — an overtly COMMUNIST publication — the AFL-CIO’s Director of Legislation said there would be NO CHANGES “that would undermine the basic thrust of the bill.”
That’s why it’s important that you sign this survey IMMEDIATELY.
Should “Card Check” pass, this dangerous power grab would:
*** Force millions of additional working Americans to pay union dues under the threat of losing their jobs, filling Big Labor coffers with hundreds of millions of forced-dues dollars;
*** Dramatically increase the wasteful work rules, hate-the-boss propaganda, slowdowns and bitter strikes that shut down businesses and destroy jobs, ensuring that even more plants are closed and more jobs are shipped overseas or lost forever;
*** Enable Big Labor to pump even more campaign cash into the coffers of its radical, tax and spend politicians like Barack Obama who, in turn, will look for even greater ways to increase the union bosses’ forced-dues empire.
That’s why I’m counting on your help IMMEDIATELY.
You see, a Capitol Hill aide was quoted recently admitting that Harry Reid is planning to move “Card Check” to the floor and get it passed before anyone can mobilize against it.
So we can’t wait. We have to mobilize NOW.
The good news is the National Right to Work Foundation has developed a massive plan to spread the word about Card Check and the rest of Big Labor’s schemes.
Educational programs. Grassroots mail. Newspaper, radio, and TV ads.
The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation will use your survey to prove to the media and the politicians that Big Labor’s powergrab is bad policy and very politics.
But the Foundation will do so much more than just put politicians and the media on notice with your survey.
The Foundation will alert the American people of the dangers of Card Check and Big Labor’s power grab through a co-ordinated email, mail, phone, radio and even TV campaign.
National press conferences will be held showing workers in danger of being herded into Big Labor’s corral and the American people fighting for their workplace freedom.
You and I and the Foundation together can rally support to defeat “Card Check” and prevent the expansion of Big Labor’s power.
But that’s all VERY expensive — especially since everything is “last minute.”
That’s why it’s vital you act TODAY!
And that’s why, in addition to your signed survey, I hope you’ll agree to make a generous tax-deductible contribution to help stop the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill.
After signing your survey, please make a generous tax-deductible contribution to the Foundation of $100, $50, $25 or even just $10 or $5.
This is not a battle you and I can afford to lose.
I’m convinced that with the Foundation’s plan to educate Americans about the dangers of Card Check, you and I can stop Big Labor’s agenda in its tracks.
But we don’t have much time.
Please sign this survey and make a generous tax-deductible contribution of $100, $50 or $25 to help defeat Big Labor’s Card Check Forced Unionism Bill.
And if that is too much, please consider chipping in with a donation of $10 or even just $5. No matter the amount, every donation will go a long ways toward defeating Card Check.
Please, it’s vital you act TODAY!
Sincerely,
Steve Forbes
P.S. With their hand-picked majorities quickly losing popularity in Congress, the union bosses are moving fast to pass the Card Check Forced Unionism Bill before the 2010 elections.
That’s why there’s not a moment to waste!
Please sign this survey demanding your Congressman and Senators OPPOSE Big Labor’s Card Check Forced Unionism Bill before it’s too late.
After signing your survey, please also make a generous tax-deductible contribution of $100, $50, $25 or even just $10 or $5 to the National Right to Work Foundation — IMMEDIATELY!

Federal Delegation Coming For Close Look At Guam’s Infrastructure Needs
Guam – A high level White House Delegation is coming to Guam next week to look at the infrastructure needs related to the military buildup.
According to a release from Speaker Judi Won Pat’s office, the delegation will be led by Nancy Sutley who is the Chairwoman of the White House Council On Environmental Quality. Among those accompanying her will be representatives from U.S. EPA, and the Department of Defense, Agriculture and Interior.
Won Pat’s release states that Sutley has asked “to meet with the Guam Legislature to hear the views of the Senators, and better understand the impacts the military buildup will have on the island.”
The meeting with the legislature is scheduled for next Tuesday at 3:30 pm and it will take place in Speaker Won Pat’s office.

Let’s hope that they mean business.

How to beat the booze the morning after
The Irish used to say the best cure for a hangover was to bury the poor, pained victim up to his or her neck in moist river sand.
??With St. Patrick’s Day almost here, we have to give some respect to the Irish when it comes to drinking. But when it comes to curing a hangover? Not so much.
??Of course, river sand is clearly an old folk remedy… but it’s much harder to sort truth from fiction with modern hangover cures and beliefs.
??Take, for example, newer alcoholic drinks that come infused with hangover-fighting nutrients. The idea is that it’s somehow safer to overindulge in these… or at least be easier on the body the next day… but that remains to be seen.
??In any case, you probably shouldn’t be picking your drinks based on any supposed nutritional benefits or additional vitamins. After all, drinking is by itself a healthy activity – as long as you choose your booze in moderation. Once you cross that line, though, you’re risking a rough morning-after no matter what you drank the night before.
??But since many people know that and enjoy a good bender every now and then just the same – especially on March 17 – here are a few tips to help you get back on your feet the next day:
??Start with your vitamins… especially the B complex, potassium and vitamin C. You can add more vitamin C throughout the day until you feel better. All three of these essential nutrients help you to rejuvenate more quickly… and replenish what the excess alcohol stole from your body.
??Plain old water is one of the best remedies for hangover, since dehydration goes hand-in-hand with crapulence. Some people have a glass of water for every couple of stiff drinks they have throughout the night. Just be sure to keep drinking the water long after the last call for alcohol and throughout the following day.
??Sleep is also a great hangover cure, but only if you can snooze long enough. Since your body’s metabolism slows during sleep, a short rest can do more harm than good – so try not to drink heavily when you have to wake up early. But if you can doze well into the morning (or longer), you can buy your body some precious recovery time.
??Once you’re up, eat a good breakfast – ideally a BLT with a Virgin Mary. The potassium in the tomato juice, carbs in the bread and protein in bacon can all help speed the pace of your recovery. One British study last year found that the protein in bacon is quickly converted into amino acids, which then replenish the neurotransmitters depleted by your binge.
?If you don’t have any tomato juice handy, try a potassium- rich banana.
??There are a few things that definitely won’t help – like burying yourself in moist river sand… or gobbling down painkillers. No matter how bad the hangover feels, drugs like aspirin and acetaminophen won’t help the situation.
Alcohol can even intensify these meds – making the side effects worse and further stressing your stomach and already overworked liver. ??A cup of coffee is a great way to start most mornings… but not the morning after.
Caffeine won’t help sober you up and won’t help you fight a hangover. Like alcohol, caffeine is a diuretic… and as I mentioned earlier, one of the keys to recovery is keeping that water in your body. ??
Finally, the best way to avoid a hangover is to skip the alcohol altogether… but where’s the fun in that, right?

I am a court reporter. I thought you would like to hear just how stupid those lawyers you hire and put so much trust in are.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This is from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are supposedly things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters.

HI Mischa, thank you for this, I always feel remiss if I skip some articles but frankly spome are either visually annoying or don’t get to the point fast enough, I’m an east coaster by origin, so I’m a little imptaient when it’s about cutting to the chase : ) I try to work on that all the time though so I’ll make best attempts to read to whoever fixes up the visuals, how’s that?
Marie, I always read your quips from ‘Disorder in the American Courts’ some I’ve heard before but the above one made me laugh out loud. Years ago, a boss where both my boyfriend and I worked came up to me all frustrated and said, ‘where’s Mark?’ I said, ‘I don’t know it wasn’t my turn to watch him’ he laughed, calmed down a titch, but was in a hurry and asked, ‘well when was the last time you saw him and what was he wearing?’ : ) I said, ‘a half hour ago in bed and he was naked, and yes, we were both late, I just shower faster.’ My band of kindreds who overheard were all laughing too hard for my boss to get too angry…
Nelson, hey I’m not a calorie counter and I seriously eat well but when I look at a cookie box I just calculate how many calories are kin the whole box and work backward from there, I’m so not into deprivation and it takes all the stress out of the sitch.
Joel, great article and this I have researched bc I as a female with needs have a vested interest in this ; ) get your Vitey D (sun, no sunscreen for at least 15 min a day, an hour is fine if you have olive skin, and in winter supplement with lemon flavored cod liver oil), exercise is always good for the libido but I will suggest this: take all the L amino acids (look em’ up, L-argenine, L-taurine, etc…) and they are all sold together as a powder and in tablets also, take in between meals (empty stomach) and you’ll be too busy getting busy to even write in here. Check it out, I do my research…and I wouldn’t want any male suffering from all the bs side effects that accompany viagra and an older gent at the gym told me his cialus works well, um, yeah, not sure why he decided to share that info that day but hey…whatever…
Anonz, sweet pea, been thinking about you out there and in danger and not sure you’re even able to check in here at this point but I’d like to apologize for what I said a few days ago re: if I were a bills woman I’d have made it happen (a meeting between you and I) by now, yes, well the truth is, I probably would’ve and it might’ve put you in danger, so obviously you are much more caring in that way and so I’d like to just say that…I’m sorry. Btw, I’m no poet but I am still your sweet Lilly, and the Lioness has spoken… : ) God, I love that.
Viv, listen whenever things slow down for you, you know where I am, you can enter my dreams and pretend your Anonz again anytime, you can file an exit report as VivAnonZen : )
Oh btw, yersterday while I was procrastinating I thought to myself – you really should get on the phone, nobody’s gets business knocking at their door, 1 second later I got an email ‘you don’t know me but I heard great things about you from a friend who said you can dress me better, can i come over and shop?’ (hmm, let me think – YES!)
Misch, left you a vmail, tag: you’re it!
Oh Howie, did your tumor shrink or is it gone altogether or am I having a high hopes for the ‘intention experiment’ moment? Hey to Al also…the kids are stoked that you’re having 8 hours of sleep, I suggested it in there for me, and guess what, 6 nights in a row now, going for a week…I am truly amazing on real sleep, so much energy, have to keep this up! I love it!
It is 80 degrees and gorgie today, going to get my kid and go blading, get some vitey D! Luv, Zen Lill

Hi Zen Lill,
Unfortunately, I just had a consultation with my Surgeon on Tuesday. He told me about the procedure he would use — cutting open my sternum (Breast plate) and removing the tumor. He will also be removing a second one a few inches away.
First I must have a PET Scan to see if there are any other tumors hiding. Then Surgery is scheduled after the first week of April. Being Jewish, I want to experience one more Passover Seder on the 29th of March — it may be my last. It is my heritage and the food is gluttonous.
I will be Hospitalized for four or five days to recuperate. It will hurt 3 or 4 weeks as if I had broken a rib but the Doctor assured me he would keep me medicated and he offered a Nurse to come and clean and bandage my chest while I heal.
I asked the Doctor what the chances are that it could be malignant and he said 50/50.
That is the latest health news I have.
I am taking this very well. I am sleeping well and I am in really good spirits. I am very calm about the entire ordeal. This must be due to the vibes sent my way. I do not fear death. It is a means of ascention for me one way or another. I am only anxious about pain and suffering if I survive.
Z.L., Soon we will probably laughing about the entire situation. Then you and your ‘Super Kids’ Yoga Class can be proud of a job well done.
