Bush wants to create an attack on America, and Obama’s economic plan to rebuild America

Posted by michellemoquin on September 19th, 2008

Well, I finally read Anonz’s comment from Wednesday, and I thought that I would re-post it just in case you hadn’t read it:

Michelle

I hope you can warn as many people as possible that the bush administration is trying to provoke an attack on the American people. They are using the CIA to accomplish this goal.

The CIA is presently sending missiles into the homes of suspected Al-Qaeda leaders. They are targeting and killing the women and children of suspected members. The hope is that it will make them so angry that they will launch an attack in the US.

The bush administration see this as a last ditch effort to catapult national security to the forefront to help McCain.

So far they have bombed and killed 171 men women and children with their “smart” bombs. They will be launching missiles on another 243 women and children of suspected Al-Qaeda members. The missiles will be primed to hit the homes of these women and children merely to get their families to attack the US in time for the election.

Chaney has been informed that he will be prosecuted for lying to the Congress of the US to deceive them into authorizing an illegal war. They have to win this election. Their state operatives have been given orders to start procedures to disenfranchise OTW voters in key states.

Bush’s father has told him that the family will not help him if he continues to back Chaney. They want to remain in the good graces of the Saudis and they do not want the embarrassment of having a family member accused of war crimes.

This is going to get UGLY.

Anonz

All I can say is I am blown away and yet not. To provoke a war in order to secure ones position, ones place in office, is down right horrific. It is simply amazing to me what people will do in order to remain in power. Power of what? A world that is falling apart country by country in order to attain this sought after power, control.  Why is absolute power so narrow minded…so blind to seeing the big picture?

If I were extremely wealthy, one in a major power position, I would strive to keep those that weren’t as fortunate as me as happy as possible. I would want for them to feel proud about the work that they do. Not everyone has lofty goals and there is nothing wrong with that.  After all, it is the majority of people in every day life positions: the garbage men, the waiters, the bank tellers, really the people in service, that make life easier for everyone.  Let those people feel proud for whatever work they do by giving them advantages and benefits so that they can live a happy, healthy life, doing the work that makes others happy and healthy; doing the work that many others don’t desire to do.

What good does it do when those people who normally employ those positions are unemployed and struggling to survive.  Doesn’t it make sense for the people in power, those who are the wealthiest, to want the everyday person that makes their lives so much easier to be employed, paid well, with benefits, and proud of their work? Are those that have so much, whether it be control, power or wealth, so insecure of losing it all, so afraid that someone will take over their position, or god forbid acquire more than they, that they can’t see that the destruction and livelihood of the common person will inevitably affect of their posh lives? I just don’t get what they don’t get. Our economy is regressing. We are becoming a community that is separate and fragmented. Maybe those in power just all want to be kings while the rest are pauper peasants. It’s sickening to me.

Greed is like cancer: In order to survive and grow, it inevitably destroys its host, that which supports its livelihood, resulting in its own death. Crazy huh?

I am so grateful to those that employ jobs that I would never desire for myself. It gives me the opportunity and the support to strive for something more. I never take for granted those that do the real tough jobs in this world. I appreciate those that make my life easier.  Why would I not want the best for them? When people are happy it is contagious.  And on the other side, when they are not, well that is contagious too. Depression breeds depression. When people are unemployed and not happy they resort to actions that they might not take otherwise.

So, moving on…

In light of the past few days, I wanted to post the most recent video from our next president Barack Obama. It is his economic plan. Unfortunately the video is so new that it is not available on youtube yet, so click here to see it.

He addressed many important issues but to me what stood out the most is when he said that we need to bring a responsible end to the war in Iraq.  We are putting billions of dollars every day into  Iraq, rebuilding their country when we should be rebuilding ours. Right on. We need to invest in the livelihood of America.  I believe his plan. McCain could care less how long we are in Iraq, meanwhile the Bush badmin are rescuing the corps and leaving the average person who’s losing their homes and now their retirement plans to fend for themselves. McCain will be the same same.

Hi Debra:  Thank you so much for posting ‘White Privilege, White Entitlement & the 2008 Election. Tim Wise is right on in his assessment. Talk about bigotry running the gamut. When you lay it out that way, point by point, how can one not see how privileged whites are, how otw’s are treated as second class.

Readers:  Especially those who are voting for McCain…tell me this has touched you in some way. Tell me that you’ll really think about what is right for our country. See outside of your own self needs, your own pocketbook.  Look at the state of our economy; look at the issues and remember that prosperity for everyone makes this world a better place for everyone.  Obama has a plan to improve the state of our economy. To read it click here.  What is McCain’s economic plan? He has been supporting deregulation for 2 decades; now all of a sudden he wants to regulate – he’ll lie as much as he can just to get the votes. Lastly, if you feel that you aren’t more well off then you were 8 or even 4 years ago, then you can expect more of the same same from McCain.

We have one man: Bush and his cronies who wants to destroy Americans. McCain is and will be no different. And then you have one man: Obama who wants to restore and empower Americans.  To me the choice is crystal clear who should be president.

Gratefully your blog host,

Bush is using the present crisis to milk as much power from the Congress as he can scare them into giving him. First he wants to cover up the big give-away he did yesterday. Then he wants to be able to bail out all his cronies and punish his enemies. He can do this by choosing what sub-prime loans to save, what to save first, what to ask for from the company for the government to accept the company’s debt and finally what to pay the company for that debt.

If the Congress gives bush unrestricted power to make all these changes without oversight, the balance of money financed power will shift significantly.

Despite the apparent straightforwardness of the President, they are planning to use a situation they caused because of their personal greed to make sure that they do not face jail time for their entire illegal activities while in the White House.

The bush administration deregulated the investment rules to enable everyone in the investment community to get a part of any single mortgage loan. Then they reduced the police that would regulate and enforce the new rules that they put into effect to ensure those rules were obeyed.

The present day financial melt down was caused by the republicans’ policy of “let the market police it self, just deregulate and stand back.”

The republicans changed the rules that were set under the Clinton administration and fired or reigned in the people that were charged with enforcing the rules.

Simply put today’s crisis was caused by republican rule changes that permitted: multiple sharing of an individual mortgage loan; new rules allowing the mortgage industry to sell a mortgage to anyone without the checks and balances under the Clinton administration; practicing socialism when it comes to saving big business and telling individuals this is a capitalist system.

Without common sense rules, oversights and a regulatory system with teeth to enforce those rules and oversights the crooks will feed on the people’s money. Even I know that this easy theft can not go on without us having to answer for it on a global level.

Mutual funds will get the same treatment that FDIC gives to individual bank accounts. That is not a bad thing if the rules that go with that guarantee are sensible and that they are enforced.

    Dangerous Medication Risks for Seniors

    Robert N. Butler, MD
    Mount Sinai School of Medicine

Modern medications are so powerful that they both save lives and endanger them. After age 50, just when people are most likely to take several medications prescribed by multiple health professionals who often don’t communicate with each other, they become increasingly vulnerable to adverse drug reactions.

Reasons: Aging slows recovery… diminished liver and kidney functions result in altered metabolism and excretion. Also: Reapportionment of fat and lean body tissue changes drug distribution.
Surprising: The drugs most commonly implicated in adverse drug reactions are time-honored medications prescribed for chronic conditions.
Examples: Diuretics (water pills), such as hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril) and furosemide (Lasix), to reduce fluid retention and blood pressure… oral anticoagulants (blood thinners), such as warfarin (Coumadin), to limit clotting after a heart attack or stroke.
    DANGEROUS INTERACTIONS
An often-quoted 1998 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that in the US, more than 2.2 million people a year have serious adverse reactions to prescribed drugs and 100,000 of them die, making drug interactions one of the leading causes of hospitalization and death. Watch out for these…
Drug-food interactions. Some labels say, “Take with food.” Which food? Grapefruit juice often triggers a drug-food interaction that may be good (helps the body absorb certain AIDS drugs) or bad (deactivates some blood pressure drugs and cholesterol-lowering drugs). Oat bran also can make blood pressure medication less effective.
Solution: Ask your doctor or pharmacist which foods might affect the actions of your medications and how.
Although taking drugs with a meal may reduce stomach upset, food may delay the drug’s absorption, alter its characteristics or make its actions less predictable. Speak up — ask whether this applies to any medication you take.
Reduced body mass and increased fat make older people more sensitive to alcohol, which interacts with many commonly prescribed drugs and many commonly prescribed sleep aids, such as sedatives and hypnotics.
Danger: Alcohol is a major ingredient in many liquid medications, especially cough syrup.
Drug-drug interactions. Prescription drugs known for interacting with other drugs include cholesterol-lowering statins, such as atorvastatin (Lipitor) and pravastatin (Pravachol), and blood pressure-lowering antihypertensives, such as furosemide, propranolol (Inderal) and clonidine (Catapres).
Self-defense: Find out which potential interactions apply to each medication you take now… and whenever a new one is prescribed, ask your doctor and/or pharmacist which drugs or foods not to take with it. Perhaps just separating the food and the drug by two or three hours would be safer.
Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs can wreak as much havoc as prescription drugs.
Examples: Antacids, antihistamines and heavy use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin). According to an estimate by James Fries, MD, of the Stanford University School of Medicine, NSAID-induced gastrointestinal bleeding sends about 76,000 Americans to the hospital each year… and kills about 10% of them.
Antacids (Milk of Magnesia, Tums, Amphojel) can reduce the effectiveness of antibiotics, such as tetracycline and ciprofloxacin (Cipro)… antihypertensive drugs, such as propranolol and captopril (Capoten)… and heartburn drugs, such as ranitidine (Zantac) and famotidine (Pepcid AC). But antacids can also increase the potency of valproic acid (Depakote/Depakene), for seizures and bipolar disorder… sulfonylurea (Glucotrol), for diabetes… quinidine (Quin-Release), for arrhythmias… and levodopa (Larodopa), for Parkinson’s disease.
The older (first-generation) antihistamines, taken widely for allergies, colds and flu, can have dangerous interactions when taken with other drugs that cause drowsiness, such as antidepressants, alcohol, pain relievers, muscle relaxants and medications for seizures or anxiety.
Examples: Brompheniramine (in Robitussin Allergy & Cough) and doxylamine (in NyQuil).
The examples listed above are drops in the bucket. Check your own medications.
    PERILOUS FALSE ALARM
Some drugs can drain certain vitamins from the body. If these vitamins aren’t replaced, resulting symptoms may mimic those of dementia or other age-related conditions.
Examples: Tuberculosis drugs can deplete vitamin B-6, leading to amnesia, and vitamin-B complex, leading to apparent senility. Seizure drugs (anticonvulsants) can deplete vitamin D, leading to hearing and walking problems and general weakness. An older person displaying characteristics that are associated with dementia may just have an easily corrected vitamin deficiency.
    MEDICATION ERRORS
More than 7,000 deaths in US hospitals were caused by medication errors in a single year, according to a major report published in 1999 by the Institute of Medicine.
As it happens, the drugs found by the United States Pharmacopoeia* to be most frequently implicated in medication errors are commonly taken by seniors.
Examples: Insulin (for diabetes)… warfarin and heparin (to control clotting, such as in cardiovascular disease)… albuterol (Proventil, for asthma or bronchitis).
This year, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) asked hospitals to start providing every hospital patient with a list of all his/her prescribed medications and instructions for taking new ones. Patients, JCAHO said, should be encouraged to show the list to everyone providing care in the hospital, at any follow-up facility and after going home.
Have an advocate — a family member or friend — with you when you’re in the hospital. Anyone hospitalized in my family is attended by a relative night and day.
Potentially fatal danger: Poor communication about meds when a patient is moved, such as from a critical care unit to a general medical unit or from one health-care facility to another… or when nurses or other caregivers change shifts.
Self-defense: If you don’t get a list from the hospital, maintain and hand out a list of your own. A free brochure is available on-line from The Joint Commission at http://www.jointcommission.org/NR/exeres/FE60C8FE-FB0F-42D8-A118-6A773CC8D1BE.htm. Also, question every drug youre given by anyone, anywhere, anytime.

Hi Mischa, this topic – what is there to say? I’m saying some of it in my site tonight so I won’t repost here.

Anonz, sweet pea, you need not think about paling in my eyes, I think I’ve followed your train of thought and change of heart pretty closely here, you will have my understanding and benefit of the doubt and ‘compassionate concern’ (if you read my blog you’ll know what that means) you’re living a double-edged life though and that must feel strange – I’m thankful for all the inside foreign policy lessons/info although lately it’s left me feeling, oh, see my blog…

I’m bummed about one thing, I always thought that it’d be cool to have money but only for the freedom it would buy you: time to travel and see the world, ability to help others, etc…but now I see that even lots of money won’t buy you that on your own terms, what a drag. It doesn’t seem like you are anymore freed by your money than poor folks are bound by their basic need for it, you do get the power though so it probably feels better…? I don’t wish for you to have it or not have it, and you’re right it would be crazy to do what, give it back? I just hope you’ll do good deeds with it, the amounts are all relative. Someone is always going to make money and usually while someone else is losing it.

EFFECTIVE NATURAL CURE FOR JOINT PAIN

At some point or another, even the least athletic among us is likely to sprain an ankle or strain something in the back. Injury to the body’s connective tissue — the ligaments and tendons that literally hold us together — is very common. The problem is that once injured, connective tissue tends to get injured again, often because it didn’t heal completely the first time. The result is ligaments and tendons that are weaker or lax, with fibers that may fail like a tattered rope, one strand at a time. Complicating matters further is that osteoarthritis often sets in after injury, limiting movement and further increasing discomfort.
Physical therapy is usually helpful of course. Though surgery can be an option, it is invasive, expensive and usually is followed by painful recovery, rehabilitation and activity restriction for months. Also it doesn’t always work. Though not exactly new, a technique called prolotherapy is growing in popularity. Less invasive and less expensive, proponents say it heals the damaged tissue, making it strong once again. The technique, also known as regenerative injection therapy (RIT) is typically performed by medical doctors called physiatrists who specialize in rehabilitation medicine or by other physicians who specialize in sports medicine or chronic pain.
I spoke with K. Dean Reeves, MD, clinical associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, a specialist in this technique. Dr. Reeves explained how prolotherapy works. Doctors intentionally induce inflammation by injecting a mildly irritating substance (usually dextrose, a sugar solution) into the tissue. This brings growth factors that create collagen to the site of the injury to strengthen the weakened ligaments and tendons. Interestingly, this important final step to the healing process may be hampered by use of pain killing medicines, such as NSAIDs, as well as by inadequate nutrition and prolonged icing, so following post-treatment instructions is important.
    MANAGING BACK PAIN BETTER
Back pain is a frequent reason people have prolotherapy. Dr. Reeves says that many believe their back pain was caused by a degenerated disk or the sciatic nerve. In fact, chronic back pain is often the result of a series of minor injuries over the years to one or more of the many ligaments and tendons that surround the spine, for example around the sacrum or lumbar spine. To treat back pain with prolotherapy, therefore, the physician will typically inject the solution into every ligament or tendon that is painful to pressure as well as those that support that structure. By treating the entire field, the doctor is likely to set healing in motion for all damaged tissue in the area. Prolotherapy is somewhat painful, though. The procedure can be done under local anesthesia for smaller areas, while for larger areas conscious sedation, such as is typically used in a colonoscopy, may be given to make the procedure comfortable. The pain usually lasts just a few days and can be managed as advised by your doctor.
Prolotherapy can also be used to treat osteoarthritis. The goal is for the injection of dextrose solution to trigger the inflammatory response to eventually generate enough collagen to heal tendons and ligaments, which stabilizes joints. This in turn allows the bones to glide within the joint rather than rub against each other, thereby reducing arthritic pain.
Dr. Reeves says that if all potentially painful areas are treated with prolotherapy, it generally takes just two procedures to see if it is working. At that point some people still experiencing discomfort will go on to have a third, and others will quit. The frequency of treatments varies from weekly to every three months but many practitioners prefer to do them two months apart to allow time for full healing.
    DOES IT WORK?
In his experience, Dr. Reeves finds that prolotherapy results in a complete cure in 30% to 40% of patients, for those with current or old injuries that have failed to respond to other methods of treatment, with another 40% showing at least some improvement. Dr. Reeves has one caveat about an old injury — in patients who have experienced pain for months or years, the nerves that transmit the sensation can begin to malfunction, becoming oversensitive. In this case, fixing the injured tissue doesn’t necessarily resolve the pain. Consequently, Dr. Reeves urges people to consider prolotherapy sooner rather than later so an injury is treated before pain becomes chronic.
Prolotherapy may not be appropriate for patients on blood thinners, depending on the size and location of the injury being treated.
Dr. Reeves says most people with a cartilage or joint injury are candidates for prolotherapy, though it works best for people who are healthy and eat nutritiously. Also, Daily Health News contributing medical editor Andrew L. Rubman, ND, cautions that in order to be successful, prolotherapy depends on having the inflammation-induced growth factors form healthy new tissue, for which certain nutritional supplements can be helpful.
Naturopathic physicians (NDs) are also trained in prolotherapy — but the only states that allow them to practice it are AZ, CA, OR and WA. However, you can add naturopathic advice by having your ND work in collaboration with the doctor administering prolotherapy, to prescribe supplements to support growth of new tissue.
    BASIC FIRST AID… REVISED
Dr. Reeves raised an interesting point regarding how we treat injuries, in general. People often take NSAID painkillers such as Motrin and Advil to ease pain and swelling when they’ve been hurt. However, soothing the discomfort this way can impede the body’s natural inflammatory response, which is intended to help heal the injury.
Therefore, even though it goes against conventional wisdom, Dr. Reeves says it is better to take acetaminophen (Tylenol) after an injury — it works by blocking the perception of pain, not stopping the natural inflammatory process. Also effective is proper use of ice and heat — using ice only when the area is hot, red and painful, and then followed quickly with heat.
