Good Sunday Morning!
I thought that I would post this video that Doug sent me from the community of dipdive. Zoe Kravitz is the mastermind behind it and I think it is brill….so inspirational. I thought you, my readers would enjoy it. Perfect for beginning the week on a high note.
Hi Doug: Oh I wish he had said that to McCain. That would’ve started the debate off with Obama in the power position, and McCain with his undies in a bundle or is it ‘Depends’? Oops that was mean and disrespectful…Hmm…kind of like the way he acted towards Obama.
Hi Zen Lill: Thanks for the sweet wishes!
Nora, Ling, Songa, Edward: It is hard to disagree with you and most of your comments. When I try to be an outsider looking in at all of this, it is embarrassing how we are viewed. Yes, many Americans are stupid. I was talking to my aunt yesterday who is 80 years old and she had basically the same words to say about Palin and McCain and the fact that Americans are so stupid. Hearing the words, ‘Americans are stupid’ coming out of her mouth surprised me, but she was so correct. Hmm…I have to say, hearing the words ‘Americans are stupid’ used to bother me. Now I am getting used to it rolling off of my tongue. It is a fact that can not be denied.
And let’s hope that what Anon II, the ‘Whistle Blower’ said about voter fraud won’t happen. The repubs have proven that they will try and do anything to hold their position of power….another thing to react to, another thing to try and prevent. It is starting to feel like a war between the two parties and the little bag of tricks are being pulled out one at a time. Let’s hope that we’re not stupid enough to put McCain and Palin in the White House or worse yet, do nothing, if they end up there because of voter fraud. Time to smarten up or we will really be screwed.
Okay…I am ending it here.
Readers: Feel free to chat amongst yourselves as you wish. See ya on the flip.
Gratefully your blog host,

MALE DEPRESSION CONNECTED TO SIBLING RELATIONSHIPS
The range of sibling relationships is really quite amazing. I see and speak to both my siblings often, but I know people whose contact with their brothers and sisters is limited to once or twice a year. I also know some who dislike their siblings so much they completely avoid them, even though the actual fighting is ancient history. Until recently little research had been done on the impact of these relationships on your health, but now a study has found that sibling struggles from long ago may have lifelong impact. A new and provocative analysis of data collected many years ago takes an important step toward understanding a largely ignored aspect of child development and later mental health — the important role that sibling relationships during childhood can have on an adult’s emotional state. Researchers at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital analyzed long-term data on 229 men and made a startling discovery — the men who were not close to any of their siblings as children were at significantly greater risk for major depression as adults.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
For the study, researchers analyzed data collected from men recruited between 1939 and 1942 in their sophomore year at Harvard. Internists, psychiatrists, psychologists and anthropologists did initial assessments of the group, chosen because they had no mental or physical health problems and were likely to become successful adults. These men also filled out questionnaires every other year… and were re-interviewed at ages 25, 30 and 50. They continued to be followed with questionnaires up to the present time. The findings: By age 50, 26% of the men with poor or distant sibling relationships had developed major depression. When poor sibling relationships were coupled with a family history of depression, risk of depression increased to 30%.
I called Robert J. Waldinger, MD, associate professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and lead author of the study. Acknowledging that the research merely scratches the surface of complex family dynamics since there are many variables the study didn’t look at, he said the troublesome sibling relationships were typically described in one of two ways — either there was constant conflict and/or they were distant and had no close feelings. There was no indication that these men had depressive personalities when the study started, he says — indeed, they appeared to be bright, healthy, normal people. And, the finding that men who were close to at least one sibling were less likely to suffer later depression suggests that a positive relationship with siblings may be somewhat protective in terms of mental health risks.
FULLER UNDERSTANDING OF FAMILY DYNAMICS IN ORDER
As to the study implications, Dr. Waldinger notes it’s impossible to say anything definitive about these findings, including that if you fought with your siblings you are headed for a depression. What the study does make clear, he said, is that scientists, child development experts, psychiatrists and parents need to pay more attention to the nature and impact of sibling relationships. Where professionals have long plumbed the depths of parent-child relationships, it appears the time has come to pay closer attention to other family dynamics — and the baggage sibling struggles might produce that people drag into adulthood.

You are doing what needs to be done. I too am one of those officials who is tasked with cheating minorities out of their right to vote. I will not be voting for this ticket. It is completely un-american. This party has become a win-at-all-cost-by-any-means party.
The democrats better take seriously the by any means part. I ‘m certain that I am not the only one telling them what is being planned. We have judges, governors, senators, congressmen, cops, volunteers and poll officials trained, ready willing and able to “save gods country for white america.”
If the dems don’t get their shit together this race is lost.

Your blog has been a topic among republicans for some time now. We know that it is being monitored by Homeland security for dubiously declared reasons. So if we are to write to it we have to go to a computer store (preferably an apple store) to write to your blog.
I am absolutely stunned at the number of americans who are willing to break the law to insure a win for our party.

so what would all of you: anonz, anonl, ll, lll & lV suggest Dems do to get their ‘shit together’ if repugs will just take care of winning at all costs anyway? What if anything can be done? How about a professional high level shacker to counter the ‘voter fraud’ I can supply some names…let me know…
& Homeland Security?? Why would they monitor here as opposed to monitoring and shutting down mass media like the outspoken yet truthful Bill Maher, and the usual airwave suspects…?
Is Michelle swaying the smart masses to anything – no – she’s providing info and hosting a blog that invites inside info ala anonz and others to say their piece while allowing people of other countries to chime in with their opinions.
As you can see GWB and the GOP (garbage and poop) saw to it that people the world over think we’re stupid. I think he is. I think most Americans stopped reading and thinking in 8th grade and are basically stupid. & Most repubs are so smug and stubborn that they hide behind their party line and their stupidity very well, oh wait, that is until they threw Palin into the mix so they can show the world how seriously stupid we all must be. She’s a joke…and Tina Fey of SNL in her latest skit – which was delivered using Palin’s answers verbatim in the Katie Couric interview, that shouldn’t make people laugh, it should make us angry.
Don’t get me going, I could rant this all day and I’ve got things to do : )
Oh and to the racists’ commenting, Mischa’s way to sweet to say it, I’m not, get your heads out of your ‘superior’ white male asses. You’re no better than anyone else, believe it.
So tell me, anon’s/anonz, what’s HS going to do, take Mischa’s readers names off the voter registration list? Or – what???

Lady Lilly
I will leave the other Anons to answer your other questions as I have a conflict of interest in telling the sheep how to avoid being fleeced. I feel the telling them that they are about to be fleeced is duty done.
But as I have said in the past when Her Sweetness beckons, her Sweet Pea should respond.
Homeland Security is like your local police it is a very politicized organization. Politics’ biggest influence is money. Those with money and political connections are practically immune from the police, especially if they have republican connections.
Hence, “mass media like the outspoken yet truthful Bill Maher, and the usual airwave suspects…?” who have advertisers and who contribute to both parties are not about to be bothered by Homeland Security.
Homeland Security is used as a Gestapo wing of the republican party. They can use its unchecked authority to wire tap, spy on in any way anyone or thing the office deems is in the interest of national security, and take any action the office deems is necessary to protect the national security of the USA. Basically the same rules the Gestapo operated under.
Spying, kidnapping, torture, murder, etc, etc…. is all good and legal under Homeland security’s charter. It is illegal to even know what is in the charter. The charter even makes what the members eat top secret if it is deemed to be in the interest of “national security.”
Presently it is estimated that Michelle’s blog has a bigger international audience than either Bill Maher or the US national media. It will eventually be shut down.
Perhaps it is time you took that ride too Michelle.
Some of these hicks have been brained washed as the nazis were. They believe in religiously keeping the fatherland white. They are willing to die for this belief. Fanatics are fanatics. It does not matter what country is the source of their influence.
On the bail-out. Since the republicans are frothing at the mouth about this bill you can bet that the rich that controls them are complaining about what is in it. The republicans who were the cause of this debacle because they deregulated the market and insisted that it be left to police itself are now trying to distance themselves from the band-aid that could help.
They are also being paid to stall as long as they can so that us billionaires can buy up as much of the market for pennies on dollar as we can. This is an absolutely fantastic time to buy stocks. There will never be a chance to buy into such big corporations for so little as there is between now and the time the bail-out becomes a reality. There is an orgy of buying going on!
As for the voter fraud. The republicans have hedged their bets by making sure they have control over the software that will count the votes. Since most of those computers have no paper trail, there will be no way for anyone to dispute the count they will give you.
They have prepared the public for a difference in who the public says they voted for and the eventual tally by saturating the public psyche with the belief that most white voters will lie about voting against a black candidate.
Actually Obama has successfully bridged that gap. Many white voters intend to vote for Obama. So much so that the “Bradley Affect” spiel had to be launched to act as a cover for the landslide that is predicted that Obama will get if the vote is not tampered with. This election would a landslide for Obama if not tampered with. McCain might take 4 states.
Presently, the party is guaranteeing McCain that if he can keep the polls close, they will give him the office of president. It is my guess that Palin will eventually end up being the President. McCain has been lying to the press about the true nature of his health.
Palin will present the type of leadership that Bush and Reagen did. That would be none. Their handlers will be running the country and she will be nothing more than a talking head.

This is just sick. It makes me ill to read the calm and strategic means that is in the tone of you anymore, Anonz. I find it hard to fathom, perhaps because I give a shit about other people, and the world, as well, (not to diminish the details of your Darfur experience and such), but Jesus! There is such a discrepentcy in character. I simply cannot see how, (as you know how-and you cannot deny- you actually should be dead and are not!!) that you simply keep on doing what it is you do do to the detriment of the stupid public…and that is not re-public…why do you think you are still around able to write on this blog?!…because other people gave a shit about you, that’s why…
The cop out statement that if you don’t do it someone else will simply shows a lack of character to me. Why you cannot take your knowledge and rise above the fray, to create a better world than what we have is beyond me. Maybe that’s what is old money…it’s mold money…
As you stated, “I will leave the other Anons to answer your other questions as I have a conflict of interest in telling the sheep how to avoid being fleeced. I feel the telling them that they are about to be fleeced is duty done, ” simply defies the logic of someone who has stated that they are trying to find their other side…the compassion or…perhaps it was left in Darfur…
Don’t get me wrong, I may be totally off on this, but words, as my blog yesterday expressed, are important.
If I am wrong on this, and your ulterior motives have yet to reach the surface, I apologize. But, if there is not ulterior motive in all of this, and your fleecing is just that…fleecing…I just wonder how you and yours sleep at night?
September 28th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
Oh sweet pea, I hate to agree with Doug but babe you are sounding a little ‘callous’ lately, what’s up? We all know or at least, I know, you are capable of so much more. You snapped me out of it, using many words but ‘callous’ was amongst them, that was many moons ago, so now I’m asking you, are YOU willing to snap out of it and not be callous?
And yes, you could’ve and should’ve been dead not so long ago, have you forgotten???
I know you are who you are – but what’s wrong with choosing a new path?
As always you have the benefit of the doubt from the Zen Lady Lilly, please show the side of you that earned you the honorable and noble status of sweet pea : )
Mischa and Doug, my doggie boy Ziggy passed away a few hours ago. I’m sad…he’ll be missed.

Doug
It is so easy to give up something you don’t have. You don’t have billions nor the power that goes with having it. If you were in my shoes and knew what I know because of my money, power, and experience attained as a result of acquiring and maintaining billions, you would have seen man in all his weaknesses. They all have a price. Those that are willing to die for country or some religious belief have been bought by some ones ideology, so they too have a price.
Only those willing to sacrifice all for another without regard to whether or not they will be remembered as heros or receive their reward from some god who is observing their noble sacrifice have no price.
What would you risk for your principles if you had it to risk? Would you risk, your reputation, morals, money, life? How far would you go to be able to look yourself in the mirror daily and see a person that you could respect.
Frankly I owe nothing to those who by their own greed, racism, indifference or religious intolerance daily inflict incredible hardships on those around them. They deserve fleecing.
From my side of the fence, the less power these people have to use against those less fortunate is a good thing. If you feel the need to help them, by all means do. Just don’t volunteer my money or life.
If you must know, I will continue to fleece those sheep. They will not do anything to stop me. They admire me for amassing my huge fortune. They aline themselves with the republican party to gain access to an opportunity to make that elusive fortune for themselves.
Hell, man part of the allure of the republican party is to hold out the carrot of success that can only be achieved by deregulating the markets and allowing the markets to govern themselves. They want the markets to run rough shod over the weak and uninformed. They believe that they will be among the informed and hence make money off the less fortunate (fleece the sheep).
These are people who would not know the difference between socialism or a hole in the wall. They just repeat the talking points that we give them so they can have access to the “big money” their greed blinds them to.
The republican party is a tool to make its leaders super rich not the greedy, racist, religiously fanatic members. They are but our private sheep. I repeat they deserve fleecing. These are insensitive hypocrites who will force a woman to have a baby and then call it socialism if the government that has forced her to have the baby is asked to now help that baby get medical assistance.
Tell me again why I should sacrifice one dollar of possible profit to enrich those sheep. As for those who do not fit in that category. Most are indifferent or don’t participate in their electoral process.
There is an old proverb that says give a man a fish, he eats for one day, teach him how to fish and he can feed himself. I find it typical that those who do not have what he is asking another to give up is so benevolent with the other person’s assets.
How generous would you be if I asked you to share your home with all the homeless that you meet. Your home is just as valuable to you as my billions are to me. Give up a room or two to the homeless. Give a few dollars to those that you meet everyday on the street.
Or, you could get busy organizing your community into a political force to deal with the local problems in your neighborhood. It is obvious to me that you have not gotten involved politically in your neighborhood. If you had you would be too angry with the greedy, hypocritical, racist, religious fanatics that place themselves between you and your lofty goals to have time to lecture me.
Those me first people use the government to take advantage of those that have very little. They elect representatives that promise tax breaks to the super rich because they expect to one day join us in those ranks. They could care less about the sheep below them. So why should I be concerned about the sheep below me?
My Sweet Lilly
I don’t see punishing those that prey on others as callous. I have seen how far those people will go if the government will allow them. You had better believe that if we could get the government to return to its ways of the 60′s, white america would for the most part allow it.
Sure there would be some whites who would find it very uncomfortable, but they would not put their lives on the line to prevent those OTWs that they are today friends, lovers, or related to from having to suffer the degradation that would accompany the return to the Jim Crow laws of those times.
Until you have been asked to do more than opine nobly and you have met the test to your satisfaction, your commitment should be a touch circumspect.
I appreciate all the help that I have been given. But with or without it my actions would have been the same and they will continue to reflect what and who I believe deserves that kind of commitment they get from me.
Lady Lilly, maybe I can not live up to the noble expectations that you have set for me. I can only say that I must answer the call of my own conscious in this arena. It is not one for the faint of heart.
We who play hard, play hard.
Anonz
Doug, it is naive to think that “knowledge would create a better world.” If all it took was knowledge, we would have a better world by now. It is not just the knowledge we need. It is a leader who arrives at the right time, with the right set of values to effect a change by his/her persona and unwillingness to be bribed.
Obama has yet to be tested by me in the bribe department. If he makes it to the White House, he most certainly will be tested. His 40 days in the dessert will arrive and the Devil will be there with all sorts of temptations.
September 29th, 2008 at 7:52 am
The people would have been better served by the government setting up a federal bank to loan money directly to the people and leaving the business sector to continue getting their loans from the private sector.
They republicans would not have stood for this because people like Anonz would have been against it. The big money boys are consolidating the banks into their personal pockets. The feds aren’t making the anti-trust checks that would prevent one or two people form owing all the banks.
Investment banks have now become regular commercial banks. This is going to mean that the Anonz’s of the world will own a piece of everything. The multi-billionaires are playing monopoly on a real board.
The average investor who supported the republican party’s “leave the markets alone” policy because they believed it would make investing profits better for them are the ones who will lose the most on their market investments. The Anonzs of the world have eaten their lunch.
Anon III
September 29th, 2008 at 8:05 am
I’m with you Anonz. Why feel sorry for the greedy bastards that supported the republicans to make a profit at their fellow citizens expense. This is about those who cared about only their desire to get rich, to own a bigger piece of the pie.
They support the republican trickle down theory because they expected to be high up in that trickle down chain. They were willing to allow a bigger piece for the billionaire so that they could get some for themselves to hell with the little guy at the bottom.
The market will drop like a rock today until the billionaires begin to divide up the cheap bargains. It is the greedy fucking preppies that you can blame for this debacle. It was a classic sting. History and the movie industry will have block busters telling this true story. It won’t be told until long after the guilty have happily passed away.
Bob
