“Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger

Good morning!

“Just noticing…”

  • …In case any of you were confused, silly me, I forgot to add the quote in the content of the write yestarday, a precursor to the paragraph: “Virginia Woolf said “that” 70 years ago — if you look at today’s classrooms, newspapers, films, and television not enough has changed. That’s why we are working to complete a new historic series.”

Here is the “that”, that she said, and it is a good one:

“HISTORY IS TOO MUCH ABOUT WARS; BIOGRAPHY IS TOO MUCH ABOUT GREAT MEN.”

Readers: Sorry for my mistake – did you even notice?

I am also “just noticing” that I am feeling quite lazy about writing this Sunday morning. I want to address some of you, so I’ll end my topic where I began it. Of course feel free to share anything you are “just noticing”. Blog this BABE. I’m done for the day.

Oh, but before I make a few comments and chime off, I do want say that I miss seeing all of you here though. I know it’s been tough lately, but I appreciate you reading even if trying to comment is a total drag. Although many of you got through yesterday and this morning.

Speaking of commenting, again I am “just noticing” that I have received a few e-mails from friends telling me that they don’t know how to comment on my blog.

So here it is once again guys:

Go to the Home page which is always the current day. Scroll down through my article or write, past my photo. Just beyond my photo is where it says: “No comments” or the “# of comments”, in hyperlink orange. Click on it and the page will change so that you will be able to leave a comment. Simple yes? Obviously not because I still get readers who are confused. :) That’s okay. I’m patient.

Zen Lill: I didn’t have time yesterday to comment, but well said. We all make choices. I just think that sometimes people make the choice to become parents and then totally regret it, and then start judging single people, or people who choose not to have kids, and their lifestyles. I especially love it when parents complain about how tough it is to raise kids, and then they choose to have another kid. Wha’at?! By the way, your recipe sounds delicious. I will try it soon. Thanks!

Jody: Delighted you enjoyed it. I thought so too.

Brandy: So sorry to hear about your marriage. I wouldn’t doubt if many women are in your shoes. That is certainly the lowest when one not only cheats, but then doesn’t even bother to put a jacket on it to protect his significant other from catching anything that he chooses to expose himself too. Your husband was certainly only thinking about himself and his needs. We all make mistakes when we are younger and we don’t know any better, but these days we all know better.

And if we all know better and we still have sex sans a rubber, what does that say? I hate to be blunt, but his actions, or lack there of, say volumes of how he truly feels about you. I know I don’t need to spell it out. No doubt there were hints in your marriage along the way that you are now looking back on and seeing just the man he really truly was. Ignorance is blissful, but I am sure you would rather know, would’nt you? You are better off without him. You are certainly at less risk health wise to say the least. I wish you luck and happiness in your new self sufficient life. : )

Theodore: Thanks for the offer, but all male escorts need to go through Doug. : )

Maria: Life has been more challenging lately for me, and keeping up with this blog is not easy, so thank you for the words of appreciation.

Tiffany: Ahaha! One of my faves. Happy you got a kick out of it too.

Victoria: Thank you.

Kalin: Me too. One of my faves. Unfortunately I did not make it to Bimbos. :( Happy that you enjoyed your self! Thanks too for the offer to go with me sometime to an event. And you being a girl, I can say yes. :)

Daniela: I am sorry. I can only imagine the frustration. Thanks for continuing to try. I am delighted that you read my blog every morning.

Sydney: Yep it is wonderful and it is interesting.  Congrats on loosing the weight! ZL will be delighted.

Leilani: Beauty and brains is always a killer combination. Good for you for going for it!

Heather: Oh, I wish you hadn’t done that. In the end, he won. I know it’s tough. I too am very emotional. But next time try not to act in an emotional way and do something that wil not only benefit you but the other women that he is with after you. Now as you have stated, he is probably still cheating on whoever he is with, and I will add, most likely with the same old destructive habits, sans a jacket.

And all that being said, now I am really done for the day. Signing off….

xoxo

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

Gratefully your blog host,

The 5 Words Never to Say… During a Job Interview

    Paul Powers, EdD

Job hunters greatly outnumber openings these days, so even a seemingly minor slip of the tongue can cut short your employment opportunities. The five words that can undermine your job chances…

    1. CRISIS

Job applicants often trumpet their ability to respond calmly and intelligently to workplace challenges.

Trouble is, when they use the word “crisis” to describe a past professional challenge, they send exactly the opposite message.

Epidemics and hostage standoffs are crises — an employer’s budget crunch or public relations headache is not.

Calling an ordinary workplace situation a crisis will make you seem like an alarmist — the sort of employee who will blow problems out of proportion and infect those around you with panic.

You’ll seem more poised and reliable if you instead use words such as “challenge” or “problem” to describe these situations.

    2. PEOPLE PERSON

Interviewers often cringe inside when applicants describe themselves as “people-oriented” or “a people person.”

This is like saying that your worst flaw is that you work too hard — it’s such a cliché that it will make you seem uninteresting or evasive to an experienced interviewer.

Worse, “I’m a people person” is so general and unverifiable that it tends to be offered up by applicants who have no real skills or accomplishments to discuss.

Saying something similar could cause the interviewer to subconsciously associate you with this group even if you have an impressive résumé.

If interpersonal skills are an important part of what you have to offer, find a more specific, less clichéd way to convey this.

You could identify your talent as “conflict mediation,” “coordinating teams” or “soothing upset customers.”

Cite specific examples of the times that you have used this skill successfully.

    3. CAN’T

Using negative words and phrases such as “can’t,” “there’s no way” or “impossible” during an interview could make you seem like a negative person.

Few qualities turn off potential employers faster than negativity.

If you must tell an interviewer that what he/she wants is impossible or that you need a larger salary or budget than he is proposing, find a way to phrase this in a positive way.

Example: The interviewer says that the company is looking for someone to expand its Web site, but your experience tells you that the budget or time frame being discussed is insufficient.

Rather than say, “It can’t be done,” or “That’s not going to work,” you might say, “Let’s discuss some of the options we would have for getting that done.”

Mention outsourcing certain functions… or focusing initially on only the most important elements of the project.

    4. IRREGARDLESS

It isn’t really a word at all. The correct word is regardless.

If the interviewer is a stickler for grammar, using this nonword might create the impression that you are ignorant.

Another frequently misused word that could hurt your chances is “literally,” which often is used by people who mean figuratively.

Example: “I was literally putting out fires all year.” No, you weren’t — unless you were a firefighter.

    5. FIRED

Interviewers often ask applicants why they left their previous jobs. It’s fine to say your position was eliminated in a workforce reduction or that you were laid off, but never say that you were “fired.”

Though you might consider “fired” and “laid off” synonymous, the former has a much more negative connotation — that you messed up — in most people’s minds.

Personal interviewed Paul Powers, EdD, a management psychologist based in Wellesley, Massachusetts, who has more than 25 years of experience in career counseling.

He is former chairman of the Massachusetts Board of Psychologists and was the original “answer man” for job seekers on the job search site Monster.com. He is author of Winning Job Interviews (Career). http://www.drpaulpowers.com

    Michelle:

Men stick together on their dalliances. They lie for each other and act as if it is a great thing to successfully get away with cheating on your wife or girlfriend.

It is a no brainer for them to take what is available out there from other women.

And some of them are so incredible stupid and selfish that they will do it without a condom. Not once, but over and over again.

I have represented several women who have contracted an STD from their significant others. It is an epidemic out there!

My ad vice to women is to give blood regularly. That is the best way to discover what you may have contracted from your lying partner in time perhaps to save your health from permanent damage.

    Patricia

  3. Alley Says:

    Michelle:

My experience with men is that will do whatever they think they can get away with.

My ex boyfriend cheated on me with my best friend. My first husband cheated on me with our neighbor. And my present husband soon to be ex has been leading a secret life on FaceBooK with several very young things.

I, too have gotten a lawyer. But I am the one with the most money to lose, so I have hired a private detective to shadow the bastard.

I learned of his bullshit from a friend that is a FaceBook pal of his. He wanted to hit on me and to get me to fuck him, said “Why are you so loyal to a man who cheats on you at every opportunity he gets on FaceBooK?”

I was shocked because I thought I had landed the perfect man this time. We have been married for 9 nine years and dated for 3 before I decided I could trust a man in a marriage again.

I am so hurt. I could kill the son of a dog for a father.

    Alley

  4. Sara Says:

Cheating is the issue women suffer from the most followed by mental and physical abuse from the men they trust.

My fiance cheated on me right up to the day we were to be married. My best friend a male who I had never thought of in a romantic way cried and said that he had something to tell me on my wedding day.

I had chosen him as my Bride’s Maid because he was so dear to me. My mother and sisters were livid with anger at first but they came around because they all loved him too.

My fiance was dead set against it. He said it would embarrass his family and it was unnatural for me to be so close to a man.

To make a long story short. Bruce told me that he discovered from one of my husband’s male attendees that my husband to be was cheating with a woman that would be attending the wedding. She was an old friend of his family and married to a man who was a political bigwig in his home town.

I was insane with anger. I never doubted Bruce, but I had to have more than just his word. So I asked him for some sort of proof.

He played back the tape he made of later conversations he had set up with the guy and I called the woman with a threat to tell her husband if she didn’t come clean.

She did. Crying and begging me to not reveal her as the other woman. I did as she asked. I did not wish to judge her marital situation and I was just grateful to have discovered this before we were married.

That was 7 years ago. Bruce and I have been married for 4 very happy years and we have 3 beautiful children.

But I wanted to share the bullet I dodged and to make a statement that any who know of the philandering men who cheat on their wives or girlfriends should be outed.

    Sara

  5. Stephanie Says:

    Zen Lill

I am pleased to see that you can be a woman’s advocate when you set your mind to it.

I enjoy your exercise tips and most of your comments. It’s just for a moment or two there I got the impression that you weren’t really a woman’s woman.

    Stephanie

  6. Harmony Says:

The gaul of some cheaters. My boyfriend cheated in my house with an overnight guess. He was caught by my cat who scratched his butt.

The noise woke up me up and there they were naked and exposed.

I went back to bed and kicked the asshole to the curb the next morning.

He has since been so apologetic and has begged me to take him back. To my surprise my girlfriends suggest that I should. They say he has learned his lesson.

On that I agree. He has learned to be more careful or to perhaps not do it in the home he shares with his partner, but I doubt if he has developed a character that would prevent him from cheating on me or any other woman he is with.

No, it’s over and I count myself lucky. Reading yesterday’s blog sealed it for me.

    Harmony

  7. Jodi Says:

    Michelle

My husband is so loyal that it scares me. How does one know when it is a lie?

After reading the comments here, I wonder if I should be more alert. What do you suggest I look for?

We have been married for 21 years. He is kind and seems to always be concerned about my needs. But he is very secretive about his work and his male friends are always so quiet when they come over.

Do you or your readers think that I have something to b concerned about?

    Jodi

Guam -Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo is charging the incoming GOP majority is undermining a key function of Congress by targeting ‘earmark’ spending for local projects.

Bordallo accuses Republicans in a written statement of taking away congress’s responsibility to “determine funding priorities.”

The House and Senate GOP caucuses have passed non-binding pledges to refrain from seeking funding for so-called ‘pork barrel’ projects as one way to control federal spending.

But Bordallo argues the Constitution “explicitly gives congress the authority…to pass the federal budget.”

She adds that Guam organizations would “otherwise have been overlooked” without the help to meet “critical needs.”

Bordallo points out the Port Authority of Guam received $50-million dollars–transferred from the defense department—money it did not get from competitive grants.

She charges Republican guidelines would have prevented this transfer. and despite past abuses, Bordallo argues the current Congress requires member spending requests to be made available on websites for public scrutiny.

Guam received almost $36-million in fiscal 2010 earmarks Bordallo sought. And nearly $11-million were passed by the House, but not yet enacted in fiscal ’11.

Separately, Bordallo who gives up her Insular Affairs Chairmanship under GOP control, is waiting to see whether Republicans keep or change the Subcommittee.

Her office would not say if she favors Alaska Republican Don Young—seen as a friend of the islands—as her possible replacement to Chair a new or changed panel that could be combined with the Indian Affairs Jurisdiction, or even dissolved.

And Bordallo joined other delegates—all Democrats—to back Speaker Nancy Pelosi this week to be the new Democratic Minority Leader in the new Congress.

    ONC:
CONGRESSWOMAN MADELEINE BORDALLO IS CHARGING THE INCOMING GOP MAJORITY IS UNDERMINING A KEY FUNCTION OF CONGRESS BY TARGETTING ‘EARMARK’ SPENDING FOR LOCAL PROJECTS.// PNC WASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT MATT KAYE REPORT.###

M.K. BORDALLO ACCUSES REPUBLICANS IN A WRITTEN STATEMENT OF TAKING AWAY CONGRESS’S RESPONSIBILITY TO “DETERMINE FUNDING PRIORITIES.”

THE HOUSE AND SENATE GOP CAUCUSES HAVE PASSED NON-BINDING PLEDGES TO REFRAIN FROM SEEKING FUNDING FOR SO-CALLED ‘PORK BARREL’ PROJECTS…AS ONE WAY TO CONTROL FEDERAL SPENDING.

BORDALLO POINTS OUT THE PORT AUTHORITY OF GUAM RECEIVED 50-MILLION DOLLARS–TRANSFERRED FROM THE DEFENSE DEPARTMENT—MONEY IT DID NOT GET FROM COMPETITIVE GRANTS.

GUAM RECEIVED ALMOST 36-MILLION IN FISCAL 2010 EARMARKS BORDALLO SOUGHT…AND NEARLY 11-MILLION WERE PASSED BY THE HOUSE, BUT NOT YET ENACTED IN FISCAL ’11.

  9. Holly Says:

When my husband cheated on me he said it was because I was a ball-busting-bitch.

When I caught him in the act, he was performing rectal penetration without a condom.

I asked him why he did not use a condom? His reply was that he did’t “fuck dirty bitches.”

I shot the bastard in his dick. When he rolled over in agony, I put the 22 cal. pistol up his ass and pulled the trigger.

I served 8 months in jail awaiting trial. My husband declined to testify because we were planning a criminal and civl lawsuit based on his non use of a condom during his sexual escapades and the use of family money on his women.

The district attorney(a woman) refused to press charges without his cooperation. The case was dropped with prejudice so I can’t be retried.

I don’t recommend violence. It serves only the culprit.
It is better to get financial revenge it last longer and hurts more because it cramps the style of the would be romeos.

    Holly

  10. Christina Says:

My cheating husband doesn’t know that I know that he is cheating on me. I am doing the same with his family members by choice.

I want to make the bastard suffer. So why not with a family that seems to enjoy cheating on their own. I refused to do it with the ones who have wives, though I have taped more than a few propositions they have made to me.

But that still leaves plenty of family members who are willing to poke their relatives cute wife. The amazing thing is the number who would do it sans condom if I didn’t insist on one.

What is with men? Thinking women out there should be considering that if a man will stick his naked dick into you, he will and probably is doing it to others.

    Christina

  11. Roger Says:

So it’s slam men time again on this blog. I bet if you women spent as much time giving your man the attention he needs as you do reading and commenting on this shit your relationships would be better.

It is important that you keep your children away from those beaches and that you make it a must to check on the safety of beaches on a daily basis if you have children who frequent them.

You are so correct about men who have sex without condoms. They are immature boys looking to be men because of their sexual conquests.

As for the women who sleep with men who do it without condoms, all I can say is sister you are a fool playing russian roulette with your future.

And those of you who know that the man is married, what does that say about what kind of person he is, if he is willing to expose his wife to whatever any woman has who he has sex with?

Cheating is one thing. But some STDs are fatal or can be a permanent affliction. I am glad to learn that a man can be taken to criminal court in some states for exposing his mate to a sexual transmitted disease.

Let’s put the bastards in jail where they belong. Let some horny male there use that ass.

I don’t condone cheating, but I could give a man a pass if he at least attempted to protect his mate from any medical or social implications from his indiscretion.
