My mind is empty….Could it be the calm before the storm?
Posted by Michelle Moquin on October 13th, 2008
Hey there…
I woke up this morning and my mind was blank…for once. How delightful. I have finally reached the goal that I have been striving for…the ability to empty my mind of thought. It actually feels quite peaceful and certainly less stressful to not have random thoughts continually buzzing my brain. Hmm…will it last?
Lately thought has been the leader keeping me awake at night and busy during the day…I just wish thought would get off my back and stop bugging me about trivial matters that in the big picture of my life, really don’t matter. Ask and you shall receive -no complaints from me…my wish was granted.
Oh…I can hear you now, ‘What are you talking about Michelle?’ Absolutely nothing, and I am loving it. For once I have nothing to say. Could it be the calm before the storm? If so I am ready for it.
Is there nothing that you want to say too? By all means say it. As always, I enjoy hearing from you. If not, it’s Monday, be easy on yourself. It’s all good. There is always another day…

Why are women supporting Palin? She is as bad as any terrible male candidate. She is a liar without concern for the intelligence of the people she is lying to.

Evidently 10% of the voting public does not have an ID because they do not drive and do not travel out of the country. An estimated 20% of blacks and other minorities do not have IDs. So the ID restrictions are aimed at denying those people their votes. I don’t know if there is time to make sure those people all get IDs beforehand, as that would be a solution to counteract the planned disenfranchising of these voters, but it is a thought.

You probably won’t publish this. But I have to say that women who don’t support Sarah Palin are traitors.
Women need to support each other

Time to make sure AN ADULT has TIME to get an ID? I’m 48 yrs old…I’ve had 32 long years to come up with a valid ID…to assert that someone may not have enough time to THINK in advance that they might need a valid ID to vote in a particular state is outrageous…I suppose, in the type of government we are destined for…an Obama run government, we will, for the next presidential election, first bus the people to get a valid ID, then bus them to a place for voter registration, then bus them to the voting booths, then bus them all back home…did I mention, we could blow their noses for them just as we pull up to the curb in front of their homes?
I find it very difficult to believe that 10% of the voting pop…wait a minute, voting population…you mean the general population of the U.S….legal and illegal residents…now that makes sense…but not 10% of registered voters….no, I would say that 99% of registered voters, who are LEGAL U.S.citizens DO HAVE a valid ID.

I see your point if we’re living in California where I live or you living in Texas where undocumented people live in large numbers. But in middle America where illegals would stand out like a sore thumb. They don’t vote there because they want to be on the down low in order to keep their jobs at the meat packing plants in Nebraska and Iowa. But denying some poor person who lives in Detroit, Kansas City, Chicago, etc. the right to vote because their address on their state ID doesn’t match is going too far. I suggest using the address on their latest police report since most people (Black or White) living in the inner city have been arrested or at least stopped by the police for questioning. They have lived in these neighborhoods all their lives, and probably have moved many times since their state ID was issued to them. I live in Silicon Valley, but I am from Omaha. The only illegals there work at the meat packing plants that at one time was primarily a job that Black people had. Many of the older members of my own family were meat packers. I think this ID thing is elitist. It denies voting rights to people who were born and lived here all their lives. I think a birth certificate, welfare, or county ID should be enough. The birth certificate proves birth place.

If Govt issued ID’s were free (and you didn’t have to spend three hours at the DMV) I wouldn’t be too pissed off. But ID”s costs between 10 and 25 in most states. So, you move, money, move again, more money. Why do you have to pay for a constitutional right?

The reason Palin can be so comfortable lying to her supporters is because she knows that she is talking to morons. They are people who support candidates who lie to them all the time because they have no respect for the dumb shits.

Mike, you are the reason women think about turning gay. What a pig! Speaking of pigs, what are you taking Al? I liked you. Is there no really honest men out there?
Are we women forced to accept the claims of men who pretend to believe in the equality of women until the woman shows she has an opinion that they differ with.

I have been trying to voice an opinion on the many things that you write about for months. I never get on. Today you passed and I am trying to get in.
If I do, all I can say with no topic to discuss is HELLO Michelle,, YOU ARE MY HERO!
PS. I love you too, ZL.

Could you Anon’s take a number or something. It would help us to respond to the shit you write in about.
To the Anon who proposed that every adult should have an ID, I say f**k you. Why should the citizens of a free country have to have an ID if what they do does not require one.
The last time I checked this is a country of the people by the people.

You are a troll. You give real men a bad name.
Michelle, pay no attention to the creep, but a new picture every once in a while will be appreciated by your male readers who are admirers of beautiful women with matching minds.

Are you insane, or just too stupid to know what you are saying?
Why would a woman support a woman over a man just because she is a woman? We may be women, but we want the same thinks that men should want from our political leaders.
We want honesty. Being a female doesn’t excuse lying, ignorance, or incompetence by a politician.
If all things were equal, I would support the female over the male. But for you to suggest that we as females support a woman just because she is a woman is stupid, inane, and the reason men think they do not have to take women or the ERA movement seriously.
You have more to offer than just your plumbing. You have a brain, use it.

Are you ashamed of what you are saying, or too gutless to take critique?

My hope is that when Obama wins the election he launches an investigation on the abuses of power the Bush administration has perpetrated against this country.
It needs to be shown out that crimes against our constitution will not be tolerated.

Consider Market Mood When Picking Stocks
Richard Stice, CFA
Dunham Large Cap Growth Fund
Wall Street can be fickle. The same company can be popular when investors overall are in one mood and unpopular when their mood shifts. Fund manager Richard Stice cites Walgreens as an example. Its stock jumped in 2002, when investors were looking for so-called defensive stocks amid an uncertain outlook for the overall market. Then in 2003, even though Walgreens’ financial picture remained steady, its stock price lagged behind other large-cap stocks as investors sought more aggressive investments. The lesson: Consider the market’s mood along with a company’s growth prospects when picking stocks.
Here are some of Stice’s favorites for the current market, which is tending to favor large-cap growth stocks with big overseas exposure…
McDonald’s Corp. (MCD). Strong growth in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East and Africa has helped fuel big jumps in revenue for the world’s largest fast-food chain, which is based in Oak Brook, Illinois. In the US, the chain has been helped by new items that range from premium coffee to snack wraps and extended late-night hours. McDonald’s 2.5% dividend yield is also attractive. Recent share price: $58.54.
Cameron International Corp. (CAM). This Houston-based company supplies parts to oil drillers. Even if oil prices back off from recent levels above $90 a barrel, demand from countries with rapidly growing economies such as China should keep drillers busy. Also, Cameron uses long-term contracts to lock in prices. Recent share price: $86.06.
