Really what more is there to say? Obama clearly won again.

We went to a speakeasy last night to watch the debate. I had never done something like this before. And I have to say it was a ton of fun to be in the energy and feel the synergy. It was obviously an Obama crowd. Funny thing is, I just assumed that everyone there was voting for Obama.
We were talking with our friend Paul and watching MSNBC on the big screen, while sipping on beer and munching on popcorn. And they were showing the daily news…McCain, and Palin spouting her lies about Obama and his terrorist connections. Then I realized that we were speaking pretty loudly and freely about how tired we were of the rhetoric and lies from both of them. And then I looked around, thinking that I was at some democratic convention…and that this was a party pushing Obama event, when I finally said to myself, “Ah…Michelle, this is the debate – there’s probably republican voters here too.”
Was I wrong. I don’t remember who stepped out first onto the debating floor, but the moment McCain entered, the crowd booed and hissed – no one held back their feelings. And of course the opposite happened when Obama walked out -there was whooping and hollering. It was obviously a very strong democratic crowd…of course we were watching it on MSNBC. (Did I catch a glimpse of people, possibly republicans sneaking out?) CSPAN was showing upstairs in another part of the theater, and my guess is there were McCain fans up there, if any.
However after last nights debate how could anyone still want McCain to run our country? I mean if you really, truly wanted the best for the people and our country, you would vote for ‘that one’. Those two words I am sure McCain regrets saying said it all; as if he thought Obama were nothing more than a piece of shit. Oh how I love debates so much more than well thought-out and planned speeches. You get to see and hear the true feelings of candidates. The real truth always shows face somewhere. And don’t you think his racism showed up too when he was answering the question from the black man in the audience? You know when he belittled him by saying something like, “You probably had never heard of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac until…” ! Wha’at? Are you just assuming McCain, that this man is just a dumb uninformed black man? Did anyone pick up on that?
Really what more is there to say? Obama clearly won again. Keep talkin’ McCain….Keep talkin’ Palin…the more you spout, the more you’re out. Out of the White House that is.
Hello AH: Ya know, you had me in tears this morning when I read your comment. I cannot even imagine from your viewpoint how disappointed you must be in your beloved country. My guess is when you imagined what this country would be like in the future you imagined something totally different. It is nothing like I imagined either. How did we end up like this?
I have always been a positive person, thinking the best of people and their intentions and thinking that I was giving and being my best too. But my eyes have been opened wide and my heart has been closing in protection. Thankfully, my new found site has lead me into taking action, but is it too late? I don’t want my heart to close nor do I want to feel what I feel towards those that have and are destroying our country all in the name of racism and greed. It only perpetuates that which is out there. I feel overwhelmed in everyday decisions over my life and those of our country. I don’t know what is priority anymore as everything is so important for our survival. The only thing I can focus on is getting Obama in the White House, like he is our only chance for survival as a nation. I feel like I am putting all of my eggs into one basket and I know how dangerous that is.
But really, I believe after everything that you have said and everything that anonz has confessed, we have no other option. Obama is our only savior. I don’t like to put so much of my faith into him, but at this point from all that I know, he is the only one who can turn this around if that is even possible. I just hope that the majority of Americans will put their greed and racism aside and do what is best for our country and really the world. Is that possible? If not, we are on a most undesirable road to nowhere.
Readers: This is not just about us anymore; it is about our place in the world and how our position as world citizens affects the rest of the world, and how our Presidential decision will affect how the rest of the world views us. It is clear that the rest of the world is looking to us. They are relying on us to come through because although they may not like that we have been the world’s leader, they know that the downfall of the US will have a huge impact on them as well. Why do you think my blog is rampant with comments about how stupid Americans are? Our overseas citizens are shouting for us to wake up – get smart. They want Obama in office as badly as we do.
Anything you want to say? Blog me.
Peace out and always….
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle

Michelle,
I have the feeling that, due to the nature of our two party system, we have to rely on the only one of the two. I do feel blessed that in this dire time of need for transition that Obama has shown himself. I could feel that this would happen when he spoke at the convention in 2004. I would have voted for him then!
When Obama takes the office of President, you might take heed in the statements that he has said, you are not voting for me but you are voting for America. This country is still the country that when the people decide to empower themselves there is no stopping. If the people want change to the government, now is the time to make it happen. The tipping point to turn the tides has come. There is a paradigm shift that is happening throughout the world and it is time that America wakes from their golden slumber to make the world that AH envisioned it to be.

Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye
Once there was a way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

We don’t love America, but we do respect the potential that your country has. We can see that it is needed to lead by example. It is a place where anyone in Europe, Asia, or Africa can look to to find an image to be proud of.
If America can live up to its promise of opportunity for all who will work for it, the rest of the world will follow where she leads.

Ireland thinks that the US needs some honest people running their government. Aren’t there any sane white men available? McCain is senile.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:44 pm
I am a southerner who will not vote for the boy. But I will not vote for McCain either.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
I am from the midwest and I will not vote for a black man for the office of President of the United States of America. I am forced to vote for McCain even though I feel that he doesn’t have a clue how to fix this mess.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
I think my state will not vote to elect a black man. I can’t see any reason to hand over this country to those people.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
My family owed slaves. I could never vote to put one in the White house.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
Are you people crazy? Put the nigger in. Why vote that asshole who picked that stupid bitch as his running mate.
October 8th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Help me see what people see in that airhead Palin. I could have voted for McCain, but not with that moron a heartbeat away from the presidency.
October 8th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Sarah Palin will talked about like a dog when this ticket loses. The republicans eat their young.
October 8th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
Oh whoa or oh dear, take your pick…sorry to hear these sentiments, looks like we might have an asshole for president but at least he’ll be a white asshole??? And you’re all OK with that, seriously? And with Sarah Palin representing American women? eiyiyiyi is all I can say bc I am so not OK with that. And I’m a little disappointed with the serious amount of prejudice, Obama happens to be a well educated individual, but the color does him in? I mentioned it during our convo today, Misch, but I’ll either be living by the beach if O gets in and on a flight to an undisclosed location maybe Bali, maybe Hanoi/Saigon maybe elsewhere In Asia/Europe if it’s McCain. I’m practicing my ‘eh’ and wondering where I’m going to get a maroon cover for my passport, going Canadian in Asia if McCain is in.
Not much time today, just wanted to mention an interesting video on my site today, ‘shift happens’ click through on Zen Lill

I can’t get on this blog. What is wrong with you americans? Why are you so concerned about picking a candidate just like you? Are you so stupid that you would put a man in the White House who is as stupid as you are?
Get a clue! Bush is that man. Look what he did to the economy of the world.

STENGLER MEDICAL MYSTERY: SICK HOUSE SYNDROME
Sometimes what promises to be a dream come true falls short for mysterious reasons. That is what happened to Melanie, who had moved to California from the snowy Midwest in her mid-twenties. Now at age 60 she felt as if she should have it all — she had recently retired, had a home near the beach and her mortgage was just about paid off. Life should have been great, but it wasn’t. Melanie didn’t feel well — she was constantly fatigued, often depressed and prone to upper respiratory tract infections. In fact, she hadn’t been feeling well for about five years, and though she’d been on many courses of antibiotics, it was getting worse with time.
Melanie had seen her regular doctor often enough in those five years, both for check-ups and to try and cure her symptoms. However, her test results always came back as normal and the doctor would say the same thing he always said — since the tests didn’t show anything “wrong,” there was nothing he could do for her. Fed up and concerned that her health would deteriorate further, Melanie decided to try a different approach. She called Mark A. Stengler, ND, for a consultation, to see if naturopathic medicine could provide an answer.
ND TAKES A WIDER VIEW
Since the lab tests he ordered also didn’t show any abnormalities, Dr. Stengler decided to investigate Melanie’s environment. She had told him that she lived near the beach. This made him immediately suspicious about the possibility of mold, which is always a problem in buildings located near a body of water. If she had a sensitivity to mold spores, Melanie would be vulnerable even to a seemingly minor mold problem. When he asked about her home, Melanie told him it was about 20 years old and that, well, yes, some of the walls did have a bit of mold. In fact, she admitted, she had recently spotted some on her couch as well.
That was all Dr. Stengler needed to hear. Melanie’s symptoms were consistent with mold-induced “sick building syndrome” and immediate action was in order. He felt she was likely suffering from the toxic mold in her home and allergic symptoms to it. First, Dr. Stengler advised her to schedule a home assessment by a company specializing in mold assessment. In addition to a visual inspection, these companies do the following:
• Assess for moisture problems and leaks.
• Culture visible mold and/or do air sampling to identify mold type or determine presence of mold.
• Treat mold with bleach to destroy it. It’s safest to have professionals take care of this for you… but if you choose to do it yourself, never mix ammonia or other cleansers with bleach because combining these creates toxic gases.
• Remove any porous materials such as wallboard and ceiling tiles that mold has penetrated.
In Melanie’s home, the company found much more extensive mold contamination than even she had anticipated. In addition to the visible mold on the couch, mold had grown on several rugs, parts of one wall and most of her curtains. The contamination couldn’t be cleaned up — everything had to be removed.
TREATMENT CHALLENGE
Dr. Stengler’s next challenge was threefold: To help Melanie decrease her sensitivity to mold spores… to detoxify her system from mold mycotoxins… and to strengthen her immune system. To accomplish all of these goals, Dr. Stengler put her on an herbal liver formula of milk thistle, schizandra, green tea and dandelion root… antioxidants, including the supplement NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine), vitamins C and E… and a homeopathic mold desensitization formula. The liver formula helps with detoxification. NAC increases glutathione, a potent antioxidant that reduces inflammation and quenches free radicals and also supports detoxification. Mold homeopathics help to desensitize an oversensitive immune system to mold. She was also instructed to take oregano oil as an antifungal. (Note: Oregano oil is very powerful so it is best taken under professional supervision.) In addition, Dr. Stengler advised her to avoid eating simple sugars and junk foods to further buttress her immune system.
With Dr. Stengler monitoring her progress, including side effects related to the “die off” of mold due to her treatment regimen, Melanie gradually and steadily improved over the next few months. Six months later, she said she was feeling pretty much like her old self again. It has now been three years since her first visit to Dr. Stengler and Melanie tells him that she is indeed living her dream, in her mold-free beach house.
SICK BUILDING ADVICE
Sick building syndrome is described by the EPA as “situations in which building occupants experience acute health and comfort effects that appear to be linked to time spent in a building, but no specific illness or causes can be identified.” That certainly was the situation Melanie was facing, said Dr. Stengler, noting that the issue has become quite common. Mold is one source of the problem. Others can include sensitivities to an array of allergens including dust, dust mites and cleaning products in buildings where the ventilation systems are inadequate or not properly maintained. More than 20 years ago a World Health Organization Committee report suggested that up to 30% of new and remodeled buildings worldwide could have problems with indoor air quality.
Dr. Stengler notes that people with “unexplainable” symptoms that include assorted respiratory challenges as well as bloody noses, dizziness, nausea, headaches, difficulty with focus, fatigue and increased sensitivity to odors should consider whether the building where they live or work might be the culprit. If your symptoms lift when you leave the building, consider that a sign. Immediately report the problem to your supervisor, landlord or whoever else can take steps to resolve the problem. Prolonged exposure to these apparently invisible toxins can require a long recovery period, and is best avoided by taking quick action.
