Hello…

I stayed in bed late. Not feeling well, so I am keeping it brief, and going back to bed.

A collection of photos of the people of Omo Valley, Southern Ethiopia, was sent to me quite some time ago, and I’ve been wanting to post the photos. They are now some of favorites for so many reasons.

Today seems like a good day to post one, so here it is.

This photo was taken by Hans Sylvester, and it is simply stunning. Enjoy! More photos and background on these incredibly beautiful and creative people later.

Readers: This is it for me today. But I’ll be back tomorrow and respond.  Blog me with whatever is on your mind.

Happy Chanukah!

Thanks for the reminder Anonymous

Peace & Love: You know what to do with it…

xoxo

  1. General Info Says:

Women Need to Save More for Retirement Than Men

Women need to save more for retirement than men. Reason: After retirement, women live an average of 22 years, compared with 19 for men.

Women must save an additional 2% a year for 30 years to make up for that difference. But: Women often start saving two to four years later than men do, on average, and women invest less — 7.3% of earnings, compared with 8.1% for men.

One-quarter of women do not contribute to company-sponsored retirement plans at a high enough level to take advantage of the company’s matching funds.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling so well this morning, Michelle.

The picture was beautiful. And I wish to thank you, too, Anonymous.

    Tis the season.

  3. Evelyn Says:

Thanks for thinking of me Michelle. You are always in my prayers. I look forward to your blog every day. Harris says he owes you his happiness.

Yes, he has proposed. I am soooooooooooo excited!

Who would have thought that a daughter listening to her mother’s advice to read a blog would have had more affect than her telling her to be more receptive to the solicitations of her suitors would have had better results?

How my life has changed. It is incredible! I was an only child. Now I have 13 little sisters. They love Harris and I love them.

I have asked Harris for us to wait for 2 more years. He threatens to blog you to bring me to my senses.

You are in our conversations a lot. I can’t wait for the girls to start reading you when they turn 18. That could happen in less that 6 years for some.

I wish you and Doug(Lucky Main Dude) the best. And you are definitely invited to the wedding. Harris says all expenses will be covered. You money is no good in France.

He has agreed to get married there so that my sisters can attend as bride maids. If you two agree to come we will send you details 6 months before the day.

I would love for you to come at least a month before my wedding so that we could get better acquainted. Doug could join us for the last week, if that is alright with you two.

With all the possible excitement your coming to France could possibly generate, we may need some lead time to get the logistics down.

Harris and I want it to be as private as we can arrange. But he says he will not agree unless you allow him to cover ALL your expenses.

Please say yes Michelle. Harris is about a mill or two short of being a billionaire so he won’t miss the money. Besides he is such the mogul that he will most certainly find a way to write it off his taxes.

I know, I know, I’m marrying the enemy. But in my defense, he told me he worked for the company. He never let on that he OWNED the company.

But as mother always said, you can love a rich man as well as a poor man.

Funny how that turned out. Anonz has mother and the girls living so lavishly that most think I am supporting Harris. I tell my friends that he is probably marrying me for my mother’s money.

I still can’t believe that I am in love with a pale, very pale red headed man. But I do love him so very much. You will love his sense of humor. All my friends adore him.

All’s not great under our tent. It seems that I didn’t fare as well in his family’s eyes. But that is a story we will have in private when I see you. Please say yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You made it all possible.

    Love you

    Evelyn

Michelle the boys of Greece wish you a speedy recovery. Oh heavens Evelyn, you have been taken off the market.

  5. GT Says:

The quest is on to discover when and where the wedding will take place. Here in France the web is abuzz avec des posibilities.

We will certainly be looking forward to your coming here. Bonjour Michelle et et peuvent vos expériences de voyage être fantastiques.

    GT

  6. Zen Lill Says:

Misch, feel better soon : (

Ruth, now I know why I asked for a story, thank you very much. I agree with your last sentence. I miss the knowledge anonz was always willing to share no matter how much I sometimes hated hearing it and of course I miss the personal A-Z banter – ah well, I just send a little ZL luv out there to wish a full recovery. Not much else matters without your health.

Evelyn and Harris. I wish you the very best : ) although Evelyn I think your a smart one for wanting to hold off on a date for awhile, real love can wait till you’re good and ready. I’m the worst at the delight factor right now, I will only commit to running a party every five years with a banner reading ‘yes we are still together’ on it, sigh, I wish I felt otherwise but I do not. You font seem easily swayed so I don’t think you’ll read too much into that. : ) that was with no offense to your specific choice, Harris sounds like a fine pick.

    Luv, Zen Lill

  7. Zen Lill Says:

Love the picture, the tribal make up and intricate hair, beauty comes in many forms, can’t wait to see more. -ZL
