Bye Bye 2009…

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 31st December 2009

Good Morning!

First of all I want to say Happy New Year to all of my readers who partied hard last night bringing in the New Year ahead of us here- I hope that you were safe and had a ton of fun!

Secondly, I am excited to report that if you haven’t seen the Huffington Post this morning, let me be the first to tell you that the article I posted yesterday about ‘moving your money to community banks’, is the headliner. I am so excited that people are heeding this advice and taking immediate action.

Zen Lill: Yes, I am speaking to those too that only have checking accounts to pay their bills, so you will not get any wrath from me :)  You don’t have to have a lot of money to move it from one of the biggies to a local community bank. It seemed pretty obvious to me if one read the article and watched the video, but hey some people only see what they want to see.

On a side note, I wanted to thank you for recognizing my continual efforts and support for women. I appreciate your thoughts and comment.  I hope that your stop doing list goes well for you. But remember one can still be zen and change the way one does things. As always be gentle with yourself. Your ‘ways’ have served you well in the past; and it seems they don’t work for your present life now. The fact that you recognize this is half the battle in making the changes you want to make. Let me know how I can support you in any way.

So..Back to the topic at hand….

And as Thomas pointed out: ‘Seems easy enough to me!’ Yes Thomas - It is easy.  Thank you for your comment. You obviously saw the obvious and are heeding the message – Me too! Until you chimed in, I was beginning to wonder.

Anna: I wanted to get back to you from the other day. No worries. I know that if someone wants to track me down there are ways. Not that I feel you tracked me down :) I just don’t worry about things like that. Believe me though, I do keep in mind the mantra “Trust in Allah, but tie up your camel!”

Anyway, no, I did not receive what you sent me, I’m sorry. I am aware that if my blog is difficult to access, then other means to connect with me are probably compromised too. I don’t know when you sent it but I will keep an eye out over the next few days. Maybe luck will be on our side. :)  Happy New Year! I hope that you brought in the new year well last night!

Sandra: You made some very valid points. You remind me of me. You seem to ask a lot of questions and you make good sense. And your comment, ‘Greed made him blind to common sense.’ is a common problem. Greed is strictly for the moment. Common sense stretches into the future. ‘What else can he do’, you ask?  He can stick with you – Your husband is lucky to have a wife that cares and can point our these things to him when his greed gets the best of him.

Anon: Your Thanksgiving Tiger was cute, very cute. :)

Mike: In regards to your article from Sue Lowden, thanks for posting it. I never seem to make the time to find and read articles such as the one you posted. It’s enough to keep up and support the issues I want to support. But it is always helpful to  know what scare tactics are being touted, so thank you.  And they have been at full bore. It is never ending. Keep posting them here, if you can. I appreciate it, and I’m sure my readers do too.

Readers: I’m going to end my post with wishing everyone a wonderful, celebratory, eve of the new year, filled with all that you desire it to be. We have a new year coming and I love it, because it is the mark of new beginnings. Bring it in big, and be safe whatever you do. You are all in my thoughts…

Lots of Love…

The Day After…

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 26th December 2009

Good morning everyone. I hope that Christmas, however you celebrated with whatever traditions, or not, :) was all that you hoped it would be and more.  I had a wonderful time with my family as I do every year.

This morning however, has been challenging for me. I usually have something that I want to say, or a topic that I want to post. But today…today, my mind feels unfocused and a little chaotic. I think I will just ‘be’ with it, not judge it or try to figure it out. I’ll simply honor this moment, and let you do all of the chitchatting. Okay?

So, I am just going to say hello, “Hello” :),  post a photo that makes me smile, and sign off. As always, feel free to chat amongst yourselves. The lines seem to be ‘open’. (?)

With love,

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle

This ‘N That Chitchat

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 3rd December 2009

I have missed just chatting and responding, so there is no topic for today, just my opinion…

Tiger is just a man who puts another stake in the heart of the term’ family man’ – They’re coming out of the woodwork lately “Family man” – hmm…more like an oxymoron – don’t you agree? My take on it Linda, is that their aren’t many men who can proudly wear the badge ‘family man’. Tiger is just another man who got caught, and many  (not all!) men that claim they are a ‘family man’, just haven’t got caught yet.

Men get married for lots of reasons – just like women. I agree with ZL:men like marriage bc it ensures that their woman isn’t sharing…” Although women do cheat too. I also think many men get married so they can know they have a least one woman where they can spread her legs whenever they please. Ya know like ‘money in the bank’…it’s always there. I don’t think there’s too many men that get married with the ‘plan’ that they’re going to cheat, but I don’t think the thought, ‘I’m never  gonna  tap on some on the side’ ever enters their mind. It’s just the way it is.

And women who love to play with married men, such as yourself(?), are not the kind of women I respect. I have said it before and I’ll say it again. Women have the power here. If women didn’t mess around with married men, married men wouldn’t have the opportunity to mess around. Period. It’s a simple as that. And another thing for those stupid women who do, and think they’re going to be ‘the one’  to capture him and turn him around…you know prevent him from cheating on her. Uh huh, yeah right. Good luck with that. That’s my two.

Oh…Speaking of family….no Kalika Moquin is not a cousin of mine, although it was fun to see my name in the news. So you can quit wondering now. :)

ZL: Sorry to miss you yesterday. I hope that your meeting went well. Let’s keep trying ok :)

Anna and LLwayway:  That story is so disgusting and brutal. Maxima – thanks for posting the story in its entirety.  These women had been bound, macheted, shot and buried in a mass grave. It is believed that some were raped. None of them had underpants on and they even believe that some were buried while they were still alive.

Why is this happening? I ask again over and over, What is wrong with these men? Why are women’s lives of such little value? It upsets me to no end, and at times, I feel bound and shot and buried alive trying to scream for someone to listen, and stop the violence and the killing. Where is the love for women?….You’re right Jenna, There seems to be no end to the things men will do to women when given the opportunity.  What can we do to change that? Doesn’t it feel that the treatment towards women is getting worse or has the internet just made it possible for the stories to reach us when in the past we were left in the dark?

Billy:  As always, your little diddlies make me smile. Here’s one for you with a nod to all those politicians out there: “In democracy its your vote that counts. In feudalism, it’s your count that votes.”

Burt: They are everywhere but unfortunately not here for the time being.

Roy….oh Roy? Are you available to comment or are you too busy running up and down from your ship to respond? Earthlings are asking. I feel a little stress coming from you. Perhaps I can assist. I did receive a response from the e-mail that I sent. Hmm…on well…such is life.

Sharon: I am not familiar with Lou Sabini but I bet my good friend Elliot is. I’m not sure if Elliot reads my blog these days. He is a busy man, working on his book and teaching at the University – all about films and in fact his last semester was all about comedies. What a coincidence. Maybe he’ll be reading, chime in, and give us his two.

Liz: I love my older brother. :)

Anonz: It’s obvious you have all the money. But if anyone should have all of the power, “Let It Be Me”. Who else could I trust? :)

Peace out.

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle

Blog Update

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 25th November 2009

Good morning. Is anybody out there? It has been sooo quiet these past couple of days. Oh well…onto business.

I have been trying to avoid blogging what I am about to blog today but it has gotten to the point where I must.  And as I begin to write this, I just want to delete it and forget about what I need to say, and continue blogging as usual. But I can’t.

It is a challenging time for me, (as I am sure it is for many of you), and personal matters that I have been putting off need to be addressed and made a priority. Unfortunately this means that my blog is going to have to play second to a few other things in my life….starting tomorrow. :)

I have always gotten up in the morning and happily headed straight to my computer, putting the important things in my life second to my blog, and unfortunately my personal life and health have suffered because of it. I am blaming no one; it was my choice then, as it is now. I just need to reexamine and prioritize some things in my life that I have been pushing aside, and are now begging for more time and attention.

But don’t worry; I will still be blogging everyday, and most likely posting in the AM. I can’t imagine not tuning in here everyday! So…this is the deal: I am just going to limit my research and writing time to suit my present personal demands. Which means I will most likely just be reprinting articles, and posting videos that are of interest and important to me, and spending less time writing personally and addressing your comments, in the body of my posts. You can handle that – no big deal, right?

I have always appreciated your dedication to tuning in here daily! And know that you can count on me to be here daily too. That I committed to a long time ago and will keep my promise. :)

That being said, I encourage you to continue commenting and posting your articles of interest. This is your blog too, and many readers look forward to the comments and articles that other readers post. I will always read your comments and posted articles, however, I just won’t be as interactive as I usually am. I will certainly make a comment to those commentators that I am inspired to address, but I will not be addressing most of you like I have in the past. (In fact I’m going to have to force myself to stick to this temporary way of blogging so that I will address my personal needs :) Are you cool with that?

I am hoping that you will stick by my side through this period and  be compassionate and understanding while I go through this transitional time. I only foresee this happening for about a month or so, but it could be longer. I, of course, will keep you posted.

I don’t think this change will be that drastic. I mean c’mon, I’ll still be here every day and so will you.  Are we good?

Good. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts, concerns…what ever. Blog me. In the mean time…here’s a little humor for your enjoyment:

Peace out.

michelle

This ‘N That Chitchat

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 16th November 2009

Good morning everyone! How was the weekend? Don’t you love the photo above? Makes me want to play and snuggle with my love – how about you?

Anyway, I am just going to check in today, say hello and respond to a few of you, and then check out. Okay with you? Hope so, because I can tell you I am beat from an intense boot camp weekend; but so worth the 10-hour days – learned so much.

Apolinario: Welcome! Thanks for posting your article. I am a big boxing fan, but have been so out of touch in that sport, that I don’t even know about your champion Pacquiao, aka “Pacman”! Congrats to him though – loved the story!  Hafa Adai.

Hi Evelyn: I am delighted that you find my blog interesting ‘all the time’ :) It is not easy, I can tell you. And there are days that I so want to sleep in and not even think about my blog. I have to say it takes priority over things in my life that it shouldn’t, but that’s my issue, and my choice.

Thanks for posting your article. I am planning on doing more Chinese herbs in the very near future. A few age related things are exposing themselves and rearing their ugly heads. You are probably too young yet, but believe me it is no party. Oh…and go visit your mother. I am only saying this because I am sure my mother is wishing I would go see her too. :)

Hi Ruth: I can’t say that I have ‘meaningful communication’ every week with my mother, but we do speak at least once week. Not enough for her though  – My mother would love it if I called every day, but I am just not like that. As much as I have a great relationship with her, and love her dearly,  we will never have that daily phone chat that some of her girlfriends have with their daughters. As far as her being proud of me?…to a certain degree she probably is. My mother always wonders why I am not more successful. It gets to me every once in awhile. TMI? Perhaps I’ve said enough on this subject. :)

Afsoon & Fariba: Madaline has her orders and knows what she can and can not do. I wish you peace and safety.

Johnston: I guess I’ll let the Newt ad, and all of the other right-wing ads still run if so many of you are finding it valuable. Hey did you see the ad on Palin and her upcoming interview?

Llana: Good luck in quitting!

Readers: I know this was very brief, but I need to catch up on some personal priorities.   Hopefully tomorrow I will be back on track. Have a fab Monday!
