San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company Recall

Good evening!
How often do I say that? Almost never. But what can I say? CW: To answer your question: I’ve been bad…very bad. And sometimes when it is that good, I can’t help but be bad.
Nonetheless…better late than never.
CBS reports that a massive infestation of rats closes a Fremont food company. This may have happened in my town but the ripple is all across the nation. I thought you would want to know so I am posting it here.

Fremont company recalls 16 products due to contamination of filth following NBC Bay Area investigation.
San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company issued a voluntary recall of 16 products one day after an NBC Bay Area Investigation uncovered a “massive rodent infestation” at the company’s Fremont plant.
The company said there are no reported illnesses connected to any of their products.
The items listed in the recall were mostly sold on the internet across the United States, according to the company.
“San Francisco Herb is working with the California Department of Public Health and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to take corrective measures and address any health concerns.”

If you have an item on the list you are supposed to destroy it. If you want a refund remove the white sticker found on the back of the package and contact Dr. Fahimeh Niroomand of San Francisco Herb & Natural Foods Company at 510-770-1215, ex. 115. 
The NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit has been working on this story for two months.
After the California health department learned of our investigation it issued an embargo of more than a million pounds of product at the Fremont plant, essentially shutting it down.
Here is our initial report that sparked this recall:
The California Department of Public Health has told NBC Bay Area News that a “massive rodent infestation” has lead the state agency to shut down a major East Bay food distributor and request that the company launch a nationwide recall. The actions came after the state learned about a two-month NBC Bay Area investigation.
The state agency placed an embargo on Fremont-based San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company earlier this month and now has requested that the natural food, tea and herb distributor recall products it has recently sold in California and throughout the country. The embargo prevented the company from selling and distributing more than a million pounds of product in California and to its online customers throughout the world.
“We found a massive rodent infestation throughout the facility including direct product infestation,” Patrick Kennelly, Chief of the Food Safety Section of the California Department of Public Health told NBC Bay Area Chief Investigator Tony Kovaleski. Kennelly said state inspectors also found evidence of “dead rodent bodies, live bodies, fecal and urine contamination on products.”
According to the company’s website, San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company has been in business for 40 years. Its warehouse facility is located in Fremont off of Highway 880, just north of the former Solyndra Plant.
Kennelly said the decision to shut down the facility and request a nationwide recall came after state health inspectors discovered a massive rodent infestation in late June, adding that his inspectors found “evidence that products in the facility had been adulterated by filth including rodent excrete and rodent urine.”
He added that state inspectors also discovered rodents burrowing into products.
“It is still a very active infestation in the facility,” Kennelly said. 
According to the state, the owners of San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company are cooperating with investigators and are expected to announce the company’s voluntary national recall in the next two days.
When asked if the actions were unusual Kennelly responded, “It is very unusual. This is a 150,000 square foot warehouse that has two stories and for us to embargo all the products in that facility because of the massive level of contamination throughout the facility, occurs very rarely.”
NBC Bay Area’s ongoing investigation began in May and in recent weeks Kovaleski contacted the owners of San Francisco Herb and Natural Food Company. The owners offered no comment and declined to review any of the information uncovered by the investigation. The owners hired an attorney who contacted the Investigative Unit at NBC Bay Area and said the company would have no comment.

Readers: This is simply sickening. Although I am delighted that somebody finally spoke up, the question I ask is, “Why did you take so long?” One can only imagine just how long these horrific conditions were present and no one did anything until now.

I agree with you CW and Robert,RT. The republican party is BAPF. Race is playing such a big part of this election that the white media allows the republicans to do anything they want to which will allow them to steal this election.
They sit silently by and say nothing about obvious tactics by the republicans to remove from the rolls those voters that would vote against the republican party.
They sit silently by and allow that unqualified romney to contradict himself in every thing he says and to manipulate the President’s words to a degree that is shameful.
We are becoming a country like the communist party was in Russia. Only race has replaced communism as the necessary to win.
My race can be truly fucked up if not pulled back from limits its men would take us. If white women don’t stand up to them in this election the country will be lost.

The GOP has simply nominated the next guy in line. He is yet another RINO who is clearly the ‘establishment get-along-to-go-along moderate candidate’ of 2012.

He shouted at me that I should have been glad that McCain would be willing to give a woman a shot “because god knows that women are not qualified to be president.”

McCain the RINO never had a chance, wandering around that debate stage muttering to himself and then later ‘suspending his campaign’ to rush to D.C. on the bank bailout, while there, did not have clue of what was going on, offered nothing, while Obama took over the meeting, have been fully prepared on what to say from his Wall Stree bank handlers.
Frontline did a special on Obama and his Wall Street buddies and how they set McCain up for the fall, and fall he did. Palin made it appear he had a chance, as many voted for her and not McCain, I being one of them. Liberals and the media want celeberties in the Oval Office, not honest people with the common touch. Mr.Smith could never to to D.C. today, let alone win anything, not with the neo Third Reichers in power.

Gov Palin was chosen as a lifeboat for a sinking RINO campaign that was doomed. McCain was the Establishment get-along-to-go-along moderate candidate.
Gov Palin had guts. She had verve. She shook things up and made to old stogies think. She was the only reason many of us even voted.
The GOP should not run for office to be loved by the New York Times or the Washington Post. They should not run with a desire to be loved. They should run to govern and manage this Republic and make it work. Bush failed in many ways because he had to be loved.

The big mistake in 2012 is having the equally hapless Romney as the nominee. It is a measure of just how bad racism is in this country that someone as uninspiring and dull as Romney can be even competitive in this race.
Governor Palin had a far more impressive record as Governor than Romney has. When Romney is defeated in Nov, perhaps the Cheneys, the Roves and the Bushes can all go back to Texas and stay there.

Romney is just a stupid white boy. I do not think Governor Romney based his comment in racism. I do believe he was genuinely making a simple economic comparison.
That being said, it does show a huge level of ignorance on his part. To compare the economy of one entity (not even a recognized nation) to that of the nation occupying it is simply dumbfounding. To further say that that difference is due to culture just digs the hole deeper.
On top of the displayed ignorance, his comment also epitomizes what I see as a huge and growing problem. That is, that more and more people seem to be unable to value themselves and their achievements by their own merit, but rather can only find value in themselves by finding someone worse off to compare themselves to.
When we measure our personal value by how many people are worse off than us, it provides incentive to make sure as many people as possible are indeed ‘beneath’ us.

“I’m always glad to get comments four years later. Look, I respect the vice president,” McCain said on “Fox & Friends” Monday. “He and I had strong disagreements as to whether we should torture people or not. I don’t think we should have.”

Given that McCain is saying openly that the US tortured people, one wonders why Obama has refused to prosecute anybody for it… although he has prosecuted whistleblowers who made it public.
