Romney: “LSOS”, “Twit”, “Mittastrophe”**…What Else?

Good morning!

This is a great comeback to Romney’s lies about what Obama really said about building a small business.

Jon Stewart Slams You-Didn’t-Build-That-Gate In Romney, Fox News’ Faces (VIDEO)

“You really want to hang your entire campaign on a willful, out-of-context misunderstanding?”

Yes… yes, he does.

If the 2012 election can be likened to a war, then each news cycle is a battle. Actually, that’s probably a terrible way to look at it, but that’s not stopping either campaign or their respective media mouthpieces. To wit, Jon Stewart took a look on Wednesday’s show at You Didn’t Build That-Gate, and how Romney and Fox News have milked Obama’s phrasing for all its tea-party-rousing worth.

Clearly, in his Virginia speech, President Obama was making a point about the way infrastructure supports business and the interconnectedness of the economy and government with personal success and hard work. But, you see, he accidentally said “that” at one point when he meant “those.” So release the hounds.

Jon Stewart doesn’t cotton to that, though: “Making a big deal out of a misstatement is a great way to win a news cycle… But this ain’t a gaffe and Mitt Romney’s not having a little fun with it. This deliberate misstating and misrepresentation of Obama’s position is now the centerpiece of Romney’s campaign.”

It’s almost like taking Romney’s “I like firing people” statement out of context and using it against him. (Although, one could argue that the phrase “I like firing people” is slightly less obscured by being taken out of context than “you didn’t build that.” After all, that could be anything: a road, a business, a sandcastle, a Death Star…)

But in case one doesn’t grasp the real problem with this kind of campaigning, Stewart underlines his point: “Mr. Romney, hanging your attack on a person’s slight grammatical misstep is what people do in an argument when they’re completely fucked and know they have no argument.”

Indeed. Watch the clip above and let us know if you think this kind of campaigning is going to pay off for Romney in the long run.

*L*S*O*S*

Readers: Romney has nothing else to run on except his lies. Can you think of any other names that describe this wannabe president?

Anonymous: Your comment cracked me a smile.

Zen Lill: Good description of the twit Mitt. This is the best that the PTP’s can do. Perhaps like, she who must not be named, twit will get a gig on FOX when this is all over. I see it in the stars  - that’s where all the LSOS’s eventually go.

Anne: I am always shocked when I see a comment from a woman in support of Romney, especially if you have been reading here. Now a man voting for him, I can understand, but a woman? I encourage you to really look at the choices you are making for yourself and your sisters.

Anonymous: Hahah! Great visual.

**Lisa: I don’t know if you coined “Mittastrophe” but I love it, and of course I had to use it. Thanks!

Connie: Nicely said.

George: I suspect you have a tiny dick.

Ooh that is a good place to end – That’s it for me. Your turn. Blog me.

  1. Brittany Says:

Michelle the Jon Stewart video calling Fox on manipulating Obama’s speech to produce the lie is an example of what Robert, RT has been saying about my race.

He has been saying that one third of the White Race is just plain rabid racists, that would be the ones who did the dirty deed of editing the tape to produce the lie. That definition would also include Fox and other racist media outlets, and individuals that carry the lie with the intent of deliberately distorting what Obama actually said.

Robert, RT has been saying that the second third of my race are the ones who look the other way when that rabid racist third does the things they don’t have the nerve or will to do. That would be the third making up the Main Stream Media, and individuals who refuse to call the manipulated videos what they are. They know that the lies Fox and other racists are disseminating every day are not honest or even dishonest opinions but lies made up from distortions and outright manipulation of actual facts.

Then there is the last third of my race, like Jon Steward, who call the lies what they are. Every day I ask my self which one of that third will I belong to at the end of this day.

I am safe from ever belonging to the first one third because I am no racist. But it is a struggle to stay out of the second third because I occasionally just want to get along with my racist relatives, friends or acquaintances.

Hence, I say nothing to the racist(s) in our midst who stereotypes one OTW or other with some racist remark, or knowingly passes on a lie about something concerning a particular OTW.

I am getting better. But I want to thank those like Jon Steward that remind us of what it means to be a human being rather than just part of a racist pack of animals.

    A big fat LSOS mitt-stake?!

  3. Human Events Says:

    Dear Fellow Conservative,

If you have a sensible head on your shoulders, you probably don’t support Barack Obama.

But have you traced the roots of your distrust? Are you well-informed about President Obama’s past, the secrets of his presidency, and his plans to lead us down a liberty-destroying, socialist road?

November is right around the corner. Now is the time to start learning.

As political debates abound this year, the future of America depends upon educated, intelligent conservative thinkers. You may know you support the conservative values of Mitt Romney. You may strive to argue against Barack Obama’s vision. But do you know why? Have you discovered the root difference between these two men?

    Now, finally, you can.

Before time runs out, Human Events wants to offer you our best books about Barack Obama. With no obligation to buy another book, ever, we’re encouraging you to browse our website. You’ll see that no book is priced higher than $5.95.

You know that reelecting Barack Obama will send America into a four-year-long downward spiral. Now, you can learn why. And you can share that knowledge with all your conservative friends.

Most of these books come from the Conservative Book Club Main Selection. They are the cream of the crop. All are hardcover editions unless otherwise noted, and all reveal the disturbing truth about Barack Obama.

At Human Events, we’re devoted to you first. That’s why we’ve extended this offer exclusively to you. But soon, we’ll extend this offer to other readers. So take advantage of this limited-time offer while you can.

Don’t wait! Take a look at this amazing array of truth-telling books…

Gangster Government: Barack Obama and the New Washington Thugocracy
    by David Freddoso

    List price $27.99
    Our price $5.95
    You Save: 80%

“Gangster Government”: columnist Michael Barone invented the phrase. President Obama has perfected the practice. And, in this stunning book, best-selling author David Freddoso provides the much-needed exposé of an administration that has brought Chicago-style corruption and strong-arm politics to Washington.

Laying bare the backdoor deals, threats, and pay-to-play schemes Obama uses to push his policies on unsuspecting voters, Gangster Government proves that Obama is more concerned with protecting his friends and punishing his enemies than doing right by the American public. Freddoso exposes Obama’s corrupt union ties, his attempts to transfer the property of groups that are out of favor to politically favored groups, the pork and boondoggle of his economic policies, and more about the sleaze and corruption of the Obama White House.

  4. Kate Says:

What works in white dominated America doesn’t work in the rest of the world. It’s about time these white supremacists figured out the Industrialized world is a lot smarter than their Fox audience and we don’t listen to hate propaganda from hate mills like Fox.

    Kate

  5. Tom Says:

Does anyone wonder why the Fox and Freaks are looked upon with such contempt? What could be the difference if Romney DID (God forbid) win the election? What’s would he do, invade Great Britain? “They better back off.” Oooooohhhhh, scary.

  6. Owl Says:

Romney London stumble flips foot in butt!

  7. Anne Says:

Myth Romney foreign policy experience :

    1. Romney “has been especially vague about how many U.S. forces he would keep in Afghanistan” and has no detailed plan for our engagement in the country.

    2. Romney’s campaign said “real Americans” don’t care what Romney’s Afghanistan policy is.

    3. Before Osama bin Laden’s death, Romney said he wouldn’t go into Pakistan if we had bin Laden in our sights and that it was “not worth moving heaven and earth” to find bin Laden.

    4. Romney pledged “to do the opposite” of what President Obama has done for Israel, which includes record-level security funding.

    5. Romney called Russia, a strategic partner of the United States on vital issues, America’s “number one geopolitical foe.”

    6. When asked how he’d approach going to war with Iran, Romney has said he’d defer to his lawyers: “You sit down with your attorneys” so they can “tell you what you have to do.”

    7. Romney has said that bringing all our troops home from Iraq was “tragic” and that it was a “naked political calculation.”

    8. Romney “fled down a hallway and escaped up an escalator” to avoid answering a reporter about his position on the NATO mission in Libya.

    9. Romney called the fading power of Venezeula’s leader Hugo Chavez a serious threat to our national security.

    10. Romney’s campaign said President Obama was not doing enough to protect Czechoslovakia — a country that no longer exists — from “the Soviets.”

  8. Noah Says:

It is interesting to note that even the Brit conservatives realize that the American GOP has been taken over by the extreme right wing.

  9. Brad Says:

It appears the U.S. has lost all sense of pride in it’s country or they would publish a statement saying Mitt is just a citizen with no idea of how foreign or domestic policies work and is taking advice from the Neo Cons who ran the failed Presidency of Bush.

  10. Kim Says:

It will only strengthen his bond with American Conservativess and T-Baggers, The ones who vote here in the U.S. He talked down to the british and they love it.

  11. DB Says:

I bet even mitts mom didn’t really love him, she only did it cause she had no choice.

  12. Joe Says:

OvenMitt might as well stay over there, because when he returns we’ll resume the call for his

    TAX RETURNS
    TAX RETURNS
    TAX RETURNS
    TAX RETURNS
    TAX RETURNS

  13. John Says:

Once we oust the very vulnerable democrat senators, who currently preside in conservative states, come November and take back the senate, Harry Reid will finally be muzzled.

It may seem like a long time from now, but 100 days isn’t really very long at all! We have the votes now that we have a way to stop the ignorant niggers, spics, and nigger lovers from fucking things up at the polls.

It’s always so laughable when people like Harry can’t understand why nobody will compromise with him. I wonder why???

  14. CP Says:

Romney, in a rush to brag about his Olympic credentials, insults one of our greatest allies.

Romney needs a handler in the worse way. Being President DOES require some tact and some basic understanding of humans.

  15. Lewis Says:

He was trying to brag that he did a better job of running the winter olympics. He is the rich kid in school who would look at your toys and go, “I have a better toy than yours!” He can’t stop himself. Its a lifestyle!

  16. EL Says:

He is the rich kid in school who would look at your toys and go, “I have a better toy than yours!” He can’t stop himself. Its a lifestyle!

  17. Peter Says:

Total Political Poppycock. Romney did not insult anyone. All made up by the yellow jounalist working for the so called Press of Britian.

He just stated a fact that had been appearing in the British press for several weeks. Hey Harry why not spend your time working up a budget and do something productive. I know that is a real joke.

  18. Henry Says:

How strange that Obama, Reid and Pelosi think they can run the world and criticize the

condition of everybody’s backyard, yet they cannot take care of their own backyard!!!

Reid’s Las Vegas is bankrupt, Pelosi’s San Francisco is bankrupt, and Obama/Emanuel’s

Chicago has turned into the murder capitol of the US.

  19. Anne Says:

Don’t panic America…We know over here that this idiot isn’t going anywhere near the Whitehouse….We Brits admire and respect Americans but not this fella…

  20. Anonymous Says:

lets all chip in and buy romrom a oneway ticket to planet Krijo. Good eating Tsarmi or Tsarme.

  21. Chloe Says:

Well to be fair and no offense to the US bloggers. America did elect George W. Please please don’t give Mitt the votes to sit in the White House.

  22. anonymous 2 Says:

Chloe, that is not quite correct. It took the Supreme Court to put him into office. Then, a President with an active war on their docket tends to be re-elected…

  23. CW Says:

The fix is in. It would take the military to get this country out of the hands of the bills. Too bad they control (own) them as well. The GOP are just puppets that answer to a higher authority, $$$$$$…….

I will still cast my votes, but see little chance of defeating those theiving, LSOS’s. Maybe civil unrest could be the answer, I don’t know. I do know that this will not be an honest, above board election. It is already bought and paid for.

Racism has this country divided and will be the reason if this nation falls. I say “if” as though it hasn’t fallen already. The US is in the hands of an evil force, as is the rest of the planet for that matter.

I have not given up hope, but things are looking very grim for our future. Perhaps our visiting friends could set things right, but I do not believe this is on their agenda.

All I can say is do not give up, UNITED we have a chance. Divided, well, forget about it….. We cannot fight the LSOS’s, while busy fighting amongst ourselves. We are being controlled and are acting exactly how those in power would want us to act, like shleeple.

    And how is your day?
