Saturday Satire

Good morning!

Lia: I don’t laugh as much as I’d like to about anything these days. Sometimes I think I’ve lost my sense of humor, which is not something I want to lose. So when something strikes my funny bone, like you just did, I’m so grateful I still have it. Laughing out loud. Thank you for showing me I still got it.

Steve: I couldn’t help but respond because I’m laughing out loud at your comment too. So thank you. I love the way you think women aren’t fit to judge men in politics. You’re probably one who thinks men are better at making decisions over women’s bodies too. I agree with ZL, go stroke, and I will add, that tiny thing between your legs, at home in private, thanks.

Yesica: Yes!

Since I’m in that kind of mood this morning, here’s something else to keep you laughing into this holiday weekend. It’s hilarious in a unsettling kind of way. 😅 From the Daily Kos:

Jimmy Kimmel shows how some people will fall for any ridiculous lie about Hillary

The way that propaganda works is that once people develop a certain perception of something, it is very hard to disabuse people of that opinion. A case in point has played out over the primaries this season with Hillary Clinton. The general belief by many is that Hillary Clinton is a manipulative, cynical veteran of politics who is interested in her own power.

Depending on what side of the political spectrum you fall on this perception, while based in many good bits of evidence, it’s seemingly exaggerated when you compare Clinton to virtually every single liberal moderate politician in America. Bernie and Hillary voted on the same things 93 percent of the time. We don’t need to have a pie fight about that. That’s a fact.

Once again, I’ll note that I voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary and that too is a fact. Jimmy Kimmel Live took on that perception in a piece that they occasionally do called “Lie Witness News.” The premise is that they ask people about something in the news, in this case the recent release of more (mostly) unremarkable personal email server emails from Clinton. The humor comes in that they ask people, while leading those people with more and more outrageous “facts” about what was revealed in the news.

Some of the jokes are cute:

Can you believe how many Nigerian Princes she responded to?

To considerably more sinister:

What did you think about the fact that she accepted Osama Bin Laden’s LinkdIn request?

In every case, the people being interviewed lie by saying they heard, or read or know, about these “facts.” In every case, they say things like “it doesn’t surprise me,” and “I can believe it.” The point in the end is that whether or not Hillary Clinton has done anything wrong, or the degree to which she has done things wrong, matters not at all to someone who is ready to apply this general brush of corruption and ill intent on her.

It’s also funny.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

Michelle, Happy I could do a little something for you. You enrich our lives everyday with your dedication to making the planet better for us all.

I would love to be a Girlz.

  2. Zen Lill Says:

Hi Mischa, lol at your addition to my comment. Have at it, Steve, (if you can find it ; )

I have a friend who would like to be a girlZ, are you seeking more right now?

    Happy long weekend, Zen Lill

  3. Margaret Says:

The whole idea is to make the female not be a viable choice.

  4. Nora Says:

Those people think it is not a lie if they believe it.

  5. Lucy Says:

People get their minds made up for them by the media and they stick to it.

  6. Charles Says:

I am convinced that Ms Clinton is the best candidate running. The problem with a Clinton presidency is that as long as the republican control Congress obstructionist politics will continue apace, if possible worse than what we have now.

Thus Michelle is speaking the truth, loud and clear. The Left must go to the polls in droves and give the Lady COATTAILS. Without it we are doomed as a nation to more of this republican nightmare.

  7. Irene Says:

If the dems are going to take back the Congress they are going to have to HAVE principles and then stand up for them. If we get the same Democrats who dissappeared into the woodwork in the 6 months following Obama’s election it will not matter.

  8. Butler Says:

I agree with your sentiments Charles#6. The only thing the republicans recognize is stalemate and just say no.

  9. Sephen Says:

Charles#6, If she’s the “best candidate running”, we are in dire straits.

She’s under investigation by the FBI for violating mulitple federal laws. With even a cursory understanding of document security it is apparent that BY HER OWN ADMISSIONS she is guilty. Her excuses do not withstand scrutiny.

  10. Terrance Says:

Let’s get rid of that whole bunch of republicans. They are sucking us dry.

  11. Dave Says:

Charles#6, Yes I agree with Michelle. Absolutely! Democrats must show up for off-year elections.

  12. Troy Says:

The Senate and the House make up the Congress. The United States Congress is the bicameral legislature of the federal government of the United States consisting of two houses: the Senate and the House of Representatives.

If more people understand a little more about politics maybe we can motivate them to get out in the off-year elections and vote.

  13. Sarah Says:

Although I do believe strongly in a two party system, We the people need to vote in congressional members that do their job.

None of this obstruction, not agreeing & hate that the republicans have put into place with the Tea party crowd.

  14. Stephen Says:

No matter WHAT the Democrats do, they won’t retake the House in our lifetimes: State legislatures and governors have seen to that through their conspiratorial (through ALEC) redistricting of every Red State in the nation, based on the 2010 census.

Even though the process is being challenged in state after state–usually to the Republicans’ disadvantage-we’re only years away from the 2020 census. And here we go again!

  15. Glenn Says:

Justice is HRC being sworn as president.

  16. Troy Says:

Democrats are never looked into deeply, they think they are above the law.

  17. Rick Says:

Elizabeth Warren (in my opinion) is exactly what we need to “shake up” D.C. Vice-President will not serve us in the right capacity. She will be overshadowed by Clinton.

Chief of Staff or Scty of State may be a good spot. She can be seen at these positions. The Democrats have to take back the majority of the House and Senate, otherwise we may have another 4 to 8 years of stalemate.

  18. Dick Says:

Warren sold out by endorsing clinton and showed her true colors. Too bad because I had hope for her. Oh Well!

  19. Olga Says:

Dick#18, Why, by endorsing her party’s nominee? The most capable and qualified candidate from either party in at least a generation?

  20. Frank Says:

Hilary is on the payrole for the Royal Saudi Family Than again you “wise guys” refuse to accept that both major party leadership has sold the Republic to the highest bidders.

  21. Everett Says:

If Hillary does indeed become President, then I will be very happy to have obstructionist Republicans in the House and Senate. She will not be able to do any negative outcomes for the country, as the Republicans will stop her, hopefully.

That is the positive outcome, anyway, for a Hillary presidency. She can hopefully, keep Bill on a short leash and stop using her own personal computer server. And, when she finally leaves office, watch the moving van. This, from a Democrat!

  22. Delores Says:

Frank#20, Your analysis is as bad as your english. First the english lesson.

When in doubt about using than or then, try using your common sense of sound that is the true basis of their difference. “Then” again works better sound wise than “than” does in that spot. Notice how and when ‘than” should be used. Trying to be “proper” in the face of common sense makes people choose wrongly when they substitute “than” for the correct use of “then” in a sentence.

Your clue is if it sounds ridiculous when you make the substitution for “then” with “than” and read it aloud, it is. Now you too can be a “wise guy.”

Now for getting your facts straight lesson: – Dubya and the Bushes are personal friends with the Bin Ladens. He let them get out of the USA pronto right after September 11, 2001. He also let Osama escape at Tora Bora.

The Orange Donald also has ties to many non-democratic countries. He needs the cheap slave labor to produce his cheap crapola.

Now don’t you feel better being a “wise Guy” here too?

  23. Allen Says:

Everett#21, We’ve already had 8 years of obsructionism, And you want another 8 years? Give me a break!!!

  24. Danny Says:

Everett#12, you are what is wrong with the USA. You will not compromise.
Obstinacy has no place in government, because it hurts everyone, including your own self.

  25. Alexus Says:

If Clinton had an ounce of integrity, she would choose Warren as a running mate, but her Wall Street backers will not support Warren, and HRC – as we all know – takes her orders from Wall Street.

Trump is the second worst presidential candidate ever… he is a bigot, he’s superficial, egomanical, and just plain stupid. However, there is a candidate worse than Trump – worse because her political cynicism knows no bounds, she’s bought and paid for by Wall Street, and is a symbol for hegemonic US power.

She has never seen a war she didn’t like, and she has voted for every imperial war the US has waged to plunder resources for corporate wealth. She is totally lacking any principles, and is basically a reverse Republican.

Reagan and other Republicans that followed got the American people to vote against their economic interests by promoting socially conservative causes. HRC is doing the same thing, but in reverse – she’s using progressive causes – gay rights, women’s rights – to push an economic and military agenda that is global in nature.

I think she’s terrifying because she’s smart and cunning, whileTrump is scary because he’s so stupid. I prefer to risk on the stupidity card rather than smart and evil.

  26. Jack Says:

No matter who we end up with, the US is going down the beaten path rather we like it or not. It will serve the American ego well to see this nation go down the toilet. History has shown us plenty of nations being flushed, yet not one that has withstood the test of time in the lime light.

  27. Joe Says:

Democrats would have you believe that some one of low intellgence can run a 10 billion dollar successful business. Very dishonest people.

  28. Kerri Says:

jack#26, People have been predicting doom for our entire existence. Empires have fallen but America is not an empire. It is a republic. The question is how long it will it take?

You infer it will happen in the next four years. I think your doom and gloom prediction is untimely. It is how religion has controlled the masses for centuries. By constantly predicting the END is just around the corner. Not going to happen in the next four years.

  29. Brenda Says:

Joe#27, Joe, if you are talking about Trump he is not worth $10 billion and his businesses have not been a success.

The money he has made is by not paying the hard working people he contracted with and the ones he has scammed out of their savings. NEVER TRUMP!

  30. Dee Says:

Brenda#29, You are misinformed. Trump has employed more people that are well paid and more women in high offices with high pay than you seem to know about. Time to look into the real Donald Trump instead of just respouting the same old liberal rhetoric.

  31. Glenn Says:

Joe#27. When Daddy gives you millions and a business to start with it don’t take a lot of intellegence to be sucessful

  32. Steffi Says:

Dee#30, Brenda#29, has it right, which is precisely why your Dear Leader won’t release his tax returns. All other candidates did so months ago.

  33. Otto Says:

Dee#30, Actual billionaire Mark Cuban looked at Trump’s holdings and says that Mr Trump is NOT a billionaire. That’s why he never did and never will ‘self-fund’ his campaign.

That’s why his businesses keep going bankrupt.

  34. Jana Says:

So, Dee#30…just where did YOU learn about the “real” Donald? Yeah, we thought so..from what he told you!

  35. Allen Says:

Dee#30, How about the casino he bankrupted? 1st, how do you bankrupt a casino? 2nd, what happened to all those now unemployed casino workers?

  36. Crystallite Says:

Interesting factoid I came across today :

On Friday, June 24, in the aftermath of the shocking Brexit vote, the Dow fell 600 points and the world markets were pummeled.

That date is seven years, seven months, seven weeks and seven days since September 29, 2008, when the Dow experienced its biggest single-day drop of 777.7 points, or 7 percent.

  37. Zen Lill Says:

I’m all for warren fr Potus and Hilary as VP but Warren is way too smart for that and deserves a Scotus seat or sec whichever she prefers…

It’ll all be for naught if dems F up the midterms…again…show up anc vote ALL the time or don’t bitch about what happens next…

There’s back door deals all the time, bushes w house of said is no big news, neither is it true news that trump and clintons may be doing a back door Potus deal but it’s certainly worth following the money and favor trail on this one, mark my words. Everything is more complex than it looks so you repubs can pull out your guns and give Hils both barrels but if the best the GOP has got us trump you’re just gaslighting yourselves (& trying to convince dems to do the same, no thank you : )

Let me ask what sounds like an unrelated question…if you were looking to take your business to the next level and you needed 10M and you found out the point of origins in the funding was a deeply republican and basically a bunch of old white haired repub men, what would you do? Take the funding and go be successful or look elsewhere (likely to be another entity of similar background)?

Curious to know what you think…

    Luv, Zen Lill

  38. Zen Lill Says:

Sorry for predictive text typos and I hope I didn’t misuse then or than : ) ZL

  39. Zen Lill Says:

Argh…that should say ‘trump and Clinton may very well be doing their own back door deal and T will call in favors when Hils is in office’ … Just sayin’ …

  40. Joan Says:

Wow!, What if you are right Zen Lill?

  41. Zen Lill Says:

Joan, unfortunately I have had contact with many manipulative people of lower income and extremely high income it’s not hard to predict wait and watch – ZL
