“O” Stands For “Order” And….
Posted by Michelle Moquin on January 28th, 2009
Whew – What a day yesterday! Who opened the flood gates?!
Did I not mention that ‘order’ was on its way? Yep…’O’ stands for ‘order’ and for ‘Obama’. I truly believe that if Obama was not president, our planet, not just our country, would perish. And from what the TAO has informed me of, if Obama was not president, they most likely would let us destroy ourselves regardless of the fact that we are a cattle planet. So, whether you ‘believe’ or not…we have reason to be more thankful than we will ever know. I, myself was ready to leave this popsicle stand if it were not for Obama. Thankfully he is president. However, we too must do our part. Speaking of…
…To all of you out there who just hate seeing a black man succeed, hate the fact that Obama, a black man, is the one who can inspire change in this world…..hate knowing that a black man has risen in power….to those of you who would rather see the destruction of the world than let the black race get ahead and shine…..I know how difficult it is for you sociopaths (Yes, that is what I consider you) in this world - I am speaking to you John, Charles, and all of those racists who hide behind the title of ‘conservative’…it is time that you and your ideologies take a hike. The private party for the white people is over. We’re mixing it up now.
Yes, there is a new president in town and he’s got a pair bigger than you’ll ever have.
~~~~~~~~
Hi Robert: Welcome. It’s good to be intrigued. I found your comment ‘interesting’. You are a black man yet you refer to ‘the boy’ – am I correct to assume you mean Obama? Hmm…I look forward to hearing more from you. I wish you luck in getting in.
Hello Abaan, Chaghcharan, Jyoti, Jeevika, and Anonymous: Yes, Obama will be a president of many firsts. His concern is for the world, not just the US. When he says that he wants us to be world citizens, his inclusive actions back up those words. He walks the talk. He is an inspiration to the entire world. If people have a tendency to follow…if we need someone to lead us, he is the one.
Hi Dafne: Is this the same Dafne that has commented before. If so…welcome back. Where did we find him? Who knows, but he is certainly a gift.
Do I sound like a woman obsessed with Obama? Is he our modern day Jesus? Whether you believe in God or not, is there anything wrong with having a strong faith in someone? Yes he is one man, but he is one extraordinary man. Why not believe that he can do amazing things? Why not believe in the power of one? I believe in collective thinking. I believe that if we all have faith, and believe, AND participate, we can make the changes that we desire in spite of those around us that would rather see us impoverished…that would rather hold us down and controlled, than strong, alive and abundant. Let’s take a chance…step out of our comfort zone, and ‘believe’. What harm could it bring? But more importantly look at all that is possible if we do ‘believe’.
Hello Paul: Thank you. :)
Anonymous/Secret Lesbian: Ha! You make me laugh. I hope that someday you will reveal your true self and be free from the restraints of society and family. Accept yourself as you are and others will accept you too. And if they don’t, fuck ‘em. Life is too short…Live it as you desire. When you do, come find me and I will give you another hug and this time it will be in celebration of you being you. :)
Hello fans in New Mexico and the honorary, ‘girlz’ of Kentucky: Thank you for the birthday wishes – sending love back to all of you.
Hello Zen Lill: Welcome back! love that ‘life sentence’ – too funny. I am off today. I will call you.
Ohh…I would love to address all of you today but I need to go. I’ll check back in as usual tomorrow and we’ll chat some more.
Enjoy your day!
Gratefully your blog host,
OLDER WOMEN AND HIV: WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW CAN HURT YOU
It’s common to think of the risk for sexually transmitted diseases as just a problem for young people — and it’s also wrong. While media campaigns encourage younger folks to practice safe sex and get HIV testing if they’ve taken chances, new research makes clear that resources also need to be focused on educating the older set about risk — particularly women.
I recently read that Lisa Bernstein, MD, and a team of researchers at Emory University School of Medicine, had assessed the knowledge of older women about sexual transmission of the HIV virus. Though this was a particular population of inner city women of low income and educational status, I realized as I was reading the findings that their story had relevance to lots of women I know. What you don’t know can hurt you — especially if you are sexually active. Those with multiple partners are clearly at risk. Sadly, as headlines have revealed all too often, people may wrongly believe they are in a monogamous relationship when in fact a partner’s infidelity has put them at risk.
In the study I was reading, researchers found that the majority of women were at moderate or high risk and didn’t realize their risk status. Three-quarters considered their risk level to be low, but Dr. Bernstein told me that more than half (55%) were actually at moderate or high risk. “That’s a big difference between their perception and the reality,” she noted.
LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF RISK
In this study, researchers asked 514 women (patients at a medical clinic that provides free or low-cost health care) nine questions to test their awareness about the risk of HIV transmission and prevention, assigning one point for each question answered correctly. Not a single participant knew the answers to all nine questions and the average knowledge score was just 3.7 — not even half. The most frequently identified source of information on the HIV virus and how it is transmitted was television. The women weren’t hearing about HIV from their doctors. “Health care providers aren’t talking to these women about HIV,” Dr. Bernstein said when we discussed these findings.
When researchers asked the study participants whether they would be interested in being tested that same day for HIV, only 22% said yes. Most cited as the reason for their lack of interest that they didn’t feel they were at risk. “The less they knew, the less they wanted to be tested,” said Dr. Bernstein.
Given that the study was done at a clinic in an inner-city hospital, socioeconomic status was a factor. Even though some of these women now practice safe sex, many had engaged in high-risk behaviors and most had never been tested. Their risk factors include having had sexual intercourse with a high-risk male partner in the past or having more than six sexual partners since 1978. There was clearly a major disconnect between perceived and actual risk.
STUDY HAS BROAD IMPLICATIONS
The important finding from this study relates not to the personal histories of these women but to the broader implications, said Dr. Bernstein. “Older women are an overlooked population. They are still sexually active yet they haven’t been the target of media attention and their health care providers aren’t talking to them about HIV.” With stories in the news about the infidelity and dangerous practices of even people in long-term marriages, it’s evident that doctors need to start educating older people about being tested for sexually transmitted diseases. “Even though older Americans haven’t been the target of the educational efforts on sexually transmitted diseases, they should be — because they, too, are at risk,” says Dr. Bernstein.
The RNC just elected as their chairman a man who belongs to a WHITE ONLY club. So you, kiss-ass OTWs, who are republicans please tell me why you want to be part of a party that is telling you they only want whites.
Michelle, You are a white girl (that’s not a bad thing) so I will educate you a little on black talk. If we say “that’s my boy or he’s my nigger” that is an endearing expression between the two parties. Blacks give no white man the power to determine how we address each other.
The office of the US Presidency has now entered an arena like the other previous arenas segregated by whites for their exclusive use. My meaning?
When college and professional sports was an all white boy(not endearing) privilege the only means of comparing the extraordinary accomplishments of the athletes participating in the sport was with the performances of those allowed to play the sport.
The white boy had the “great” sport feats all to themselves. It is obvious today that America was watching events played by white men unaware that they were playing like boys pretending to be playing a game for men. Those segregated sports played by white boys became a man’s game when the sport became integrated.
They facts show that in every sport the white boy’s so called extraordinary feat was little more than an extra effort for the OTW that was allowed to play the sport. Men were showing the boys how to play a game they had allowed only themselves to play while pretending to be men.
OTWs showed the boys; how to take a jump shot, how to dunk a basketball, how to run fast break, and how to play the game rhythmically and turn the sport of basketball into a ballet performed by graceful big men with a ball.
OTWs showed the boys how to hit, field and pitch a baseball like men. It was an OTW (Flood) who broke the slave hold the owners had on the players and created “free agency.” He showed the boys what it meant to have a pair of man sized balls between their legs.
OTWs showed the boys how to play the game of football like men. They showed that a game could be dominated my a MAN playing defense. They showed that a MAN could run fast enough to match the arm of a strong quarterback. This gave the sport a wide receiver’s graceful ballet along the sidelines as he hauls in a 40 plus yard bomb. A MAN showed the boys how to take a ball and run threw, over, or around an opposing player and look nifty doing it.
OTWs showed the boys how to box. A MAN showed the boys what happens when a boy gets hit by a MAN with boxing gloves on. A MAN showed the boys that he could turn boxing into a graceful art in the ring.
It took a MAN to show the boys how to take control of his sport. Ali gave the boxer the power over a sport that the boy boxers allowed the promoter and trainers to control to their detriment. Men play with their balls, boys play with their mouths.
OTWs showed the boys how to play golf. Only Tiger Woods and ViJay Singh have won the $10 million golf prize. They are the only golfers to reach $60 million in PGA Tour career earnings.
Now that an OTW has integrated the previously segregated field of US Presidents, a MAN has turned the Executive Branch of our government previously played by boys into a man’s department. A MAN showed the boys how to campaign for the office. A MAN showed the boys how to make the office one of personal service rather than personal advancement. A MAN brought ethics to the office by removing the control special interest and lobbyists had over the Executive Branch of government.
There will be many more records of the boys broken by the MAN now playing the game. But as with the OTWs that first entered the boys’ segregated sports arena, there will be lots of cheating by the refs, hazing and threats by the bigots. there will be many obstacles placed in his path by white boys who want the records set by boys to remain as benchmarks for the world to gawk at. But as in the previous desegregated arenas the men will prevail over the boys.
When this MAN’s term is up his accomplishments will be compared with the 43 boys that came before him. The intimidated white boy will continue to keep holding out the records set my boys playing boys as benchmarks to measure those participating in a true man’s arena.
White men playing in today’s sports are men competing against other men because the boys among them were sent home.
It will be from the whites and OTWs that come after Obama that a true comparison to his accomplishments can be made. The other 43 white men were merely boys playing at being President. The boys will, as they have done in the other arenas, continue to hold up the actions of those boys as a benchmark to measure Obama’s accomplishments with. But when a field is segregated to a particular group all the group can do is claim that what they are doing is the best or the worst that that group can do. There is no control by which to judge there accomplishments by other qualified participants.
Yet, we are forced to hear the white boy exclaim the greatness of the boys that played in their segregated arenas. Someone needs to explain to them that the greatest boys highs school team would lose to any college or pro team of the same sport.
So let me reluctantly be the one.
White men of America please refrain from continuing to tell us how great the players or teams were in arenas that were segregated for exclusive participation by you. And to the more dense of you, that would also mean the Office of the President of the United States of America.
Robert you have just caused the biggest fight in this family in our 31 years of marriage. My husband read your tirade and went berserk. He threatened to call his Senator and complain about the blog. He sent copies to Mr. Limbaugh and several conservative column that he reads and writes to regularly.
After listening to him rant and rave for about an hour, I told him that I agreed with him. Our 17 year old son read it and asked me why we didn’t at least put asterisks on the records of the white athletes that played in segregated years of that sport. My husband’s response was that the niggers should be happy that we let them play along side white men. And he predicted that the nigger would be as ungrateful for being elected president as the drug taking niggers and wetbacks that play sports along side white men.
My son just smiled and went up stairs to call his friends and tell them about your column. I hope you can not be found.
Barbara.
Robert,
Your words are to the point, true, and verified through history. I will say that the black male, and female, has changed sports, globally, to become much more challenging, athletic, competitive, and exciting. It’s funny, based on your observation of sports, which I agree with, yet the “experts” doing the play by play and announcing are mostly the wanna-be’s white boy.
It’s funny of the arrogance of the white man in Amerika today, as it relates to your article. It seems that the field that is dominated by white men now, business, is the last bastion for the OTW to reach to top of. This might be quite a struggle, but it will be a breath of fresh air, as it relates to your description of the changes in sports.
As we see now, the main thing white men are doing in our financial world is fucking everyone. And that is done with a small set of balls. Maybe it is penis envy that is the reason Detroit continues to make large vehicles…that is another topic…
Doug I will wager that you are a white man with a big dick. I say this because you are not intimidated by the color of the individual. Unfortunately, that is not true of the majority of the white males on both accounts. Your comment about their fucking up the financial status of this country is right on.
The republican party is the party whose policies have caused this recession. Yet, they continue to offer the same tax benefits to the wealthy at the expense of the poor and middle class. It is telling that 55% of whites that voted for McCain and the fact that all of the repubs in the Senate and house now got re-elected by their constituents.
It either says that the whites that voted to return people who have no problem re-distributing the wealth from the middle class to the wealth via huge tax credits to that class are stupid or race means more to them than their personal welfare or the state of the country.
I would like to hear your take on the OTWs and white women who are driven to be members of the republican party. It is hardly a secret that the party is white oriented and anti women’s rights.
I think I understand the need of some OTWs to react according to the “stockholm syndrome” and try to be part of a party that oppresses them. But I can’t understand white women who join a party that refuses to acknowledge a woman’s right to equality.
Repubs are the party that was against a law to allow women to sue for the right to equal pay. Now that Obama has signed a law to give them that right their argument is the new law will cause a flood of lawsuits. Even if this were true, whose fault would that be? Would these same people redefine the law against murder if there were in their opinion that their were too many murder trials.
Yet the would reward the criminals in the case of men who deprive women of equal pay because their crime would produce too many court cases. Who are the whites that continue to reelect these bigots?
Robert I’m a black woman who has been reading this blog for over a year. You are not the first to arrive at your point of view. This is an equal opportunity blog. You need to go back and catch up. Go to Zen Lill’s blog she also has an excellent woman’s point of view. It isn’t all about having a pair of balls.
I find it incredible that so many people fail to recognize the quality of this administration- it’s desire and action to create transparency, fairness and public oversight, plus the fact that action has replaced hogwash virtually instantaneously. It’s an exceptional administration and deserves full support.
I am a life-long republican in fundamental concepts, which unfortunately seem to be lost on the current GOP. Bad enough that a few media commentators want Obama to fail, but for republican congressmen to block the efforts of the administration with political gamesmanship is outrageous, lacking both honor and patriotism. This isn’t difference of opinion or constructive debate- it’s obstruction.
I respect the President for his generous efforts to bring the republicans in congress on board to create a stronger team- but one also needs to know when to leave certain players on the bench. As the old saying goes, Lead, Follow- or get out of the way. I hope the president will soon decide that the republican obstructionism has no place on the field, and just ignore them.
Only a fool wants the plane he is on to crash…
In order to prove that the pilot he doesn’t like is a failure.
Well said. Obstructionism is the lamest form of action a politician can take and it usually comes across to the public as very childish. Not very long ago, the Democrat party seemed equally childish in their powerless tantrums, but at least they had the advantage of actually caring about people, the world, and liberty. What moral advantage can the republican party claim since on just about every level imaginable they have sacrificed their own values for the sake of political expediency.
Yeah! i now find myself agreeing with two black men. We whites know that the mantle “conservative” means racist. We know that is the CSA’s secret password. It means come join the people who believe that it is liberal to believe that all men and women are entitled to equal justice, opportunity and freedom.
I, and thousands more Americans, am just nauseated with the Republican party For eight long years, Democrats were left completely out of the loop when it came to any attempt to have a bi-partisan government. President Obama came with the olive branch to them with the most inclusive move yet, and not one, not one, spineless piece of crap Republican would compromise their imagined status to vote with him to save this country.
I’m through. Even on a local level, I’ll NEVER vote for any slithering spineless obstructionist. Republicans are things of the past! White, soft and pudgy has been’s.
