The Revolutionary Image Of Iran Is Different…She Is Young, Educated, And Modern

Posted by Michelle Moquin on June 24th, 2009

I was listening to NPR yesterday and of course the topic was the much talked about, Iran. I didn’t get the chance to listen to much of the interview and honestly I do not know who Terry Gross was interviewing; I just know he was some political analyst. But really, who he is, is not that important for what I want to say.

He did bring up something interesting, and I wanted to share it with you. Maybe you have heard or thought about this before…maybe not.  I know I have been focusing much more on the post election happenings, as before this revolution I had known only very little about Ahmadinejad and even less about Mousavi.  In fact I was more inspired by Mousavi’s wife than Mousavi himself, which is the reason why I know anything about Mousavi, period.

Anyway what this analyst said was that this revolution has given much power to the Iranian people…it has inspired the desire for more change than if Mousavi had won to begin with.  Without this analyst saying that Ahmadinejad stole the election,  his point was basically that Mousavi has more power with the people now, post election, than he did when he was running, pre election.

It wasn’t that the people supported Mousavi as their new president, it was just that they so passionately did not want Ahmadinejad in the presidency anymore. And if Ahmadinejad really stole the election, (which I believe he did), he basically shot himself in the foot because Mousavi has more of the people supporting him than he did previously.  The people are outraged and the horrific violence against them is adding even more fuel to the fire in their bellies.

Do you agree?

As I read about Iran, even the revolutionary image of Iran is much different than 30 years ago. Then,  revolutionary Iran was all about the middle-aged bearded men – that was the image. The revolutionary image today is very different, and Neda is the face that inspires them. I can’t help but think of Neda Soltani, still.  She is the symbol of women in Iran: young, educated and modern.  From the stories that we have read…from the images that we have seen….from the Iranian women who have written in here,  women are playing an incredible role in the streets. And thankfully Madaline has been there to support them in their desire for equality.

So check this out: Sixty percent of university students In Iran are women. It is the women who are leading  the path to change. Since the 1979 revolution, women have really been stripped of their rights, and they have suffered the most.  Women are considered and treated as second class citizens. This we know.  Yet ironically because of the Iran / Iraq war, where many young men spent their lives on the battlefield instead of in school, women became more educated than the men. They are far more advanced because of their schooling. and yet they are considered inferior to men and as we all know, they have less rights than men.

This revolution, in my opinion, is their chance not only use their brains, and it seems their brawn as well is needed to bring about the change that they so desire.  As I write this I am so inspired by their strength and courage. This stealing of the election was probably the best thing that could’ve happened for the Iranian women. If Mousavi had won fair and square, changes may have been made but would women really get the chance to express their real need for change…would their hope for equality be  within reach?

Thoughts? Comments? You know what to do.

Peter: Sorry for the late reply. If you want to e-mail it to me, I would be happy to post it for you.

Emma: I’m not sure if some people see my blog differently than others. Obviously you have experienced that. I have been informed that my blog is being messed with, which is why I have to be careful of what I write, or who knows if it will be shut down. I don’t want to lose this connection to and for everyone.  However, I did find two comment that were waiting for moderation, and I was able to post them yesterday ( sorry forgot to mention that)

Readers: Take note:  As I have mentioned before, if you have more than One (1) url attached to your comment it will go into moderation. And if I am at work all day it will not get posted until the evening.

Zen Lill: I agree with you too. I have never had a desire to meet the president. But it would be one of the greatest highlights of my life if I could meet president Barack Obama. I would just love to sit and chat with him about everything and nothing. I love his sense of humor.

Nikki: My pleasure. :)

Anonymous and A:  The Iranian men are going to have to change in order for Madaline to help them. It is plain and simple. Everything that Madaline says makes sense right? Of course men would not feel that death is preferable to the life they have – they have a good life. Now it is time for the women to feel the same way. The fact that they don’t says that they are willing to die than to go back to being second class slaves to the men.

Peace out…..

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle

Hi Mischa, good topic and yes Mousavi has gained more power vis-a’-vis this election process, it has empowered women, so along with Madaline’s help, they are making historical change in Iran, and it’s being seen around the world, excellemnt for other global sisters to see in my opinion. FYI, in the US it’s 50% of women in university and the percentage going for masters/PhD’s is gaining momentum also. Men will find out very soon who’s a second class citizen…

Howie, thanks for taking out G, I have no need to add anything to the convo, you said it all…notice I did not even type out his name, bc there won’t be any further conversation with a male like that (big diff between males and men, one just happens to have a dangling appendage, the other has much much more – which G will just never possess).

Penny, if you would like to be a receptacle for carrying babies and obeying your man, that is your choice. I have a child also and I love and would take a bullet for my kid – however – that is not the sole purpose for women (or me) in this life. But, then – I have serious depth and substance, how about you?

Women of this blog, you see how this is…? As long as women, Western or from any other culture, buy into this male (see above definition) dominated way of life, we will not gain ground in government or anywhere else. These women really believe that women should be treated as is, bc, well bc their man says so (and apparently their God also, who is a male also, whadya know?!) – I respect the entity and mythology of God, by whatever name you’d like to call that deity, but please…women, think for yourselves, stop sucking up the spoon-feeding of bullshit, and only you can take responsibility for that.

Where’s the Tao group whoever is on duty? Just curious, how’s Anonz? Safe, sound, and happy I hope, a quick report would be nice, thanks.

Robert, no two from you lately, you OK out there?

My blog today: ‘Einstein stated…and I couldn’t agree more’ og btw, if this blog is ever shut down tune into mine, I’ll get word from Mischa on what to do next…

    …and I’m outta here…! Luv, Zen Lill

  2. Al Says:

    George,
You really are a sic pup. ZL thinks there is some hope for you (nice of you to give him that much credit ZL, and normally, I would tend to agree).
But, George I am afraid you are too far gone for any Earthly help. You are a disgrace to human race.
There are about a million ways to insult you George (you are such an open target), but then that would make me almost as bad as you are.
I, unlike ZL, do not hope to see you get better. I hope that you never, ever get a son, you would no doubt try to fuck-up his head as bad as yours is (if that is possible).
And it is a good thing your sister, I mean wife and kids got away from you.
You wish you had half the character of a man like Howie, and the world would be a better place if you were in the reservoir tip of your daddy’s Trojan or a stain on a pillow case.
Oops there I go. Do not reply to this comment, as I know that there is no use in arguing with a sick mind, and George you certainly take the cake on sick minds.
I would suggest you listen to Doug, and get back on your meds.

    Michelle,
I have overstepped my boundaries with you last week, and for that you have my sincerest apologies. Still I can not understand why you would want to alienate any ally to women’s equal rights, male or female. Many men do treat women terribly, but not all, and not me.
I get it, and I am with you girls 100%. No woman should be anything less than equal to any man “across the board”.
I tend to put women a little higher, but hey, that’s just me.
I do hold a very high regard for motherhood, but women still should have the right to choose regardless of what anybody else wants, and that right to choose has been used as a political tool for far too long.

    Polly-Anna (AKA Zen Lill),
It’s me Al with ice cream on top, yes I have been quiet for a while. Didn’t have much to comment about other than how shocking some of the comments I have been reading have been.
What is currently happening in Iran, shows that the women and men protesting have much courage, and are desperate for a better way of life.
Seeing Neda murdered and her fathers grief really got to me as well.

Theocracies absolutely suck and in my opinion are the very worst form of government that there is. Especially a Theocracy which keeps women down.

  3. Health Info Says:

    BALANCE TRAINING HELPS PREVENT FALLS

Every day is a balancing act… how true, especially as we age, since losing balance is often what causes dangerous falls. The simplest motions, such as walking, standing, reaching and lifting, require balance skills that many of us take for granted until we are challenged by injury, illness or simply the aches and pains of aging. Surprisingly, even those who exercise regularly may have muscle development that is out of balance, as I learned after a recent ACL injury. Exercise specialists recommend balance training, along with aerobic exercise and strength training, as an integral part of a regular fitness routine at every age.
To learn more about balance training, I spoke with Juan Carlos Santana, MEd, CSCS, director of the Institute of Human Performance in Boca Raton, Florida. “Balance training teaches you how to stabilize your body by engaging your muscles and joints,” he explained. Even those who exercise regularly can still have muscles that are “out of balance” and unable to support you from all angles. Balance exercises are easy to incorporate into your life, no matter what your age. In fact, Santana has taught them to his 75-year-old mother. “She always eats her lunch standing at her kitchen counter. About a year ago, I taught her to do balance exercises while she eats her lunch,” he said. “Now, in between bites, she holds on to the kitchen counter and does single-leg balance exercises and mini pumps.”
    USE IT OR LOSE IT
Balance exercise is important for everyone at every level of fitness, including elite athletes, patients recovering from illness, and, of course, seniors. As with all forms of exercise, how much you need depends on your fitness level. For people in good shape, daily life likely provides a lot of balance movement. Those who are less fit need to do more. In other words — use it or lose it.
In order to be effective, each balance repetition should be done in a slow and fluid motion, at a rate of about four to five seconds per repetition. Begin by holding onto something or use your arms in the exercises for security and added balance — but eventually try to perform balance exercises without support. Fix your eyes on a point straight ahead (e.g. a painting or light switch on a wall). Maintain good posture, keep your core tight and bend knees slightly while doing the exercises. When you can successfully perform them in a slow and controlled fashion, start to speed up the movement. This will help develop a quick reaction when you need to move fast to maintain balance, for instance when you start to slip on a wet floor.
    WHAT TO DO
Here are some exercises: Begin with both feet on the floor, hip-width apart and do five squats, trying to get a little lower each time. Once you master the squats, which may take about a week, progress to balancing on a single leg. To progressively master the single-leg balance, gradually go from being assisted (holding onto something) to unassisted (letting go and balancing on your own). After mastering the single-leg balance, progress to single-leg pumps (i.e. mini squats on a single leg, with upper body upright). Start with five repetitions of each exercise and work up to 20 repetitions. This type of balance training can eventually be performed every day. Cut back on the frequency if you feel pain or see swelling. Here are some additional suggestions and variations for balance training…
    • Stand upright on one leg for 15 to 30 seconds (most people find this is a challenge). Now do it on the other leg.
    • Stand upright on the ball of one foot for 15 to 30 seconds, then the other.
    • Stand upright on your right leg while slowly “writing” your initials on the ground with the left foot in front, to the left and behind you. Do not put any weight on the left foot while you are moving it over the surface of the ground. Now switch legs and do this with your right foot.
    • This next exercise can be performed on any 12- to 14-inch grid, such as floor tiles, or you can draw the grid on a sidewalk or driveway with chalk, as you used to do with hopscotch. Stand with your right foot on the line where four tiles intersect under your arch. It does not matter which direction you face. Now, touch the center of each of the four tiles that meet under your right foot with the first toe of your left foot. Take four to five seconds to move from target to target to ensure you are moving slowly and maintaining control of your body. Feel free to bend your right knee and rotate your hips as necessary to accomplish the task. Do this clockwise and counter-clockwise, with each foot, until you reach the point where you don’t need to plant your moving foot for balance — then proceed to the next level.
    • Set yourself up the same way and then try to touch the outside corners of the same tiles you’ve just touched at the center. When you succeed at this, try touching the center of each of the tiles surrounding the previous four tiles. For those of you who still need to be challenged further, try touching the outside corners of those tiles.
    BALANCED WORKOUT SCHEDULE
Try to practice balancing about five to 10 minutes per day, three to five days per week. You can use this type of exercise as a prelude or conclusion to recreational activities such as golf or tennis. This light protocol also makes a great warm-up for walking or running. After mastering this simple progression, you will be ready to partake in even more difficult balancing exercises.
Equipment like rockerboards, foam rollers, balance disks and large stability balls can add challenges and interest by providing an unstable environment on which to practice balance, Santana noted. But, don’t experiment with these devices when you’re home alone… and also, make sure you have ample space so you won’t hit your head in the event you take a tumble. When using apparatus, always start supported, by holding onto a wall or a rail with your hands. Then let go with one hand before trying no hands — keep in mind that these balance toys are not as easy to use as they may seem.
As with any exercise, begin balance training slowly and carefully to avoid injury. It’s risky to go too fast, too soon. If you don’t know how to do an exercise, ask a fitness professional. For more information, visit the Institute of Human Performance Web site at http://www.ihpfit.com.
“Balance training is a lifelong exercise,” says Santana. “Once you’re good at balance, it’s yours for life, and you need only a minimal amount of balance training every day to maintain it.”

Source(s): ??Juan Carlos Santana, MEd, CSCS, is director and CEO of the Institute of Human Performance in Boca Raton, Florida. His training methodologies have been successfully applied to the full spectrum of the population — youth, geriatric, rehabilitation and elite athletes. Santana is a frequent lecturer and author on human performance and functional training. He currently consults for various governmental agencies, educational institutions, college and professional sports teams, and sports equipment manufacturers. Contact him at http://www.ihpfit.com.

Anonymous #20 from June 24 (“I Am The Proud Owner of Two” Post) You are too shy to give your name to your stupid comment. I wouldn’t either if I were you. Penny, #22 and 23, you too are a pure racist. You hate anyone who is not like you. This comment goes out to both of you narrow minded hate mongers.

George is not quoting any Bible, he is a Racist like you. There is no other way to interpret Light and Dark being God and the Devil. It is not a racial comment and never was meant to be.

You Mormons who commented believe in the stupidest religion that a White Man could ever come up with. Joseph Smith was an American who wrote his Holy Book of Mormon in the 1830′s in Ohio. He and his followers were attracted to the idea of Polygamy. He wanted many wives so he started a new ‘Religiion’. He was thrown out of the Mid West and wound up in Salt Lake City in the Utah Desert where no one would interfere with his warped practices. I believe he wound up shot in the ass, so I guess he was a ‘holy’ man.

You consider yourselves the descendants of Hebrews 600 years B.C. but you miraculously turned White. For your information, Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi who’s ‘Last Supper’ was the celebration of Passover — a Jewish Holiday. If you hate Jews, you hate Jesus. Make up your minds.

‘Mormon’ — another way of saying prejudice. How could anyone believe in this nonsense?

If your religion showed any signs of Love and Tolerance it might have some merit, but to consider yourselves unique and pure while OTW’s are Satan’s spawn is ridiculous.

You should call yourselves “The Church of Latter Day Demons”

Hey Al wit ice cream : ) hahaha…!

You called it, PollyAnna (sounds better than ‘deluded fool’) but I’m better now, and the stronger ZL will prevail from this point on with males like G. No wonder why I perplex people sometimes, I can be ‘feisty, fiery and intense’ when making a point about anything of import to me and then I cut major slack for an obvious whackjob like G, you have to wonder why would I do that?? I think it’s a leftover (teenage?) delusion dream in which we all get a 2nd, 3rd or 4th chance to do it all again…and lose the weird baggage…ah well, it was a nice thought…

But – oh man, the ‘…reservoir tip of your Daddy’s trojan’ had me LOLing – along with ‘stain on a pillowcase’ – nice turn of phrase(s) there ; ) I guess he’s been told now…frankly I don’t give a flying f**k whether he takes his meds or not, I just hope he doesn’t get to produce any other children. I feel sorry for the 2 already here, I hope their mommy is stashing cash for their therapy bill.

    ZL,
Nothin’ wrong with a little compassion. That is a very good human quality. Ole G is most definitely not gonna change anything, he seems to be too proud and happy with who and how he is, and loves his bigotry. Hates his meds, but loves to be a bigot. As far as I am concerned “G”, your case closed.

Howie, you are the most articulate when you put your mind to it. You go to the jugalar. When you don’t you merely ramble selfishly and whine. I like the Howie I hear today. It is awesome!

Zen Lill glad to have you back. If Michelle loses her blog I will cry myself to sleep for a several nites then I’ll check out your blog for my fix.

Al, you make me laugh so hard some times that I pee on myself. You know how to frame an argument without committing to a side.

I am a republican. My mother in-law says that that makes me suspect of cheating on her daughter. She says that if you follow any of the top republicans for two to three weeks you will find a pedophile, philanderer, a man guilty of incest, and or one who is guilty of taking bribes from lobbyists, special interest or big business.

What an inditement of my party. I take heart that at least it is still the white man’s party. My wife says that may be the problem. I long for the day I could kick her ass with impunity.

No, I was just joking. I long for the day people would understand if I smacked her one for sassing me. She is 48. We have been married for 27 years. I have cheated on her maybe 9 times in 27 years. If you knew my wife, you would find that hard to believe. But since I am a deeply religious man I have managed to keep my needs to a minimum.

I don’t think she has cheated on me. She knows that I would kill her if she did. Her mother has always been an asshole. If her husband wasn’t the chief of police when we got married I would have knocked a few teeth out of that smart mouth of hers.

Shit, I could tell her how many times her husband bragged about all the black poontang he had taken when he was coming up through the ranks. He used to delight us with the stories he told about raping pretty black snatches before they got stretched out by big horse dicks. The younger the better he said.

He used to cruise coon neighborhoods and drag young black girls into the back seat of his police car and fuck the living daylights out of them. Then he would drive while his partner hit it. They would take the little coon back and tell her if she said anything they would come back for more and they’d bring her mother along for the ride.

He said he never had any trouble from the jigaboos. They understood him and he kept them in their place for the city. He almost talked me into becoming a cop considering all the benefits, ha, ha, haaaaaaaaa.

But I haven’t told the old foul mouth bitch about her husband while she dumps on me. Anybody else married to her shit for brains daughter would have cheated on her way more that 9 times.

I am a republican and a practicing Christian. I am not a racist. I believe that minorities have a right to live in America as long as they recognize who made this country what it is.

    Roy

  9. Sandra Says:

    Howie

Thank you for your insightful input to the Mormons. My husband has been trying to convince me and our family to join the Mormons. They come knocking on our door twice a week. Pretty boys in black suits with those holy books of Mormons.

I love my race as much as the next person, but I agree with you Howie, how inane is that story? One would have to suspend all common sense to buy into it. Or be so self deluded about the importance of their race that they can’t see the bulls**t for wanting to believe that they are better than everybody else because of their race.

I am proud to be white but, I don’t believe that I am better because I am white. I agree with you Howie. If I love Jesus, and I do, I can not possibly hate Jews, and I don’t.

Thank you again for setting my husband straight. I showed your comment to him and he started googling every little assertion you made.

This man wouldn’t check on the s**t in that Mormon book when I suggested it to him. But he was claiming that he was checking because that’s what he would tell his students at the university to do.

What a hypocrite. He did it because he was trying to find an error in you statement. He could not. So now he is stuck looking like a fool. He sheepishly asked me if I showed it to our four grown children. I said Yes.

Now he knows that they will see him as the fool I do. I teach bio chemistry at the same university so I know revered my husband is at his place of employment. He needs the comeuppance.

Thanks for the blog on Guam and our coins. It is so nice to meet people here in Portland that now know that Guam is part of the US and that we have a coin.

You have done more for us guamanians here in Portland than anyone before you I am aware of. We are now on the map here.

Gov. Sandord is another republican hypocrite who has been caught cheating on his wife. This was a man who went on record condemning everybody in public life who had an affair.

I think Roy’s wife has a point. Yes, the dems cheat too, but they don’t go around claiming to be morally superior to the repugs. Roy your party does. They claim to be the moral right. From the bible belt.

If this is the example of what comes from the bible belt, I don’t want to see what to expect from hell. The really scary thing is that the press down there supports their hypocrites by not publishing what they know about the sleazy behavior.

This is another example of the bigotry of most of the other 43 presidents of the US.

WASHINGTON — On Jan. 22, 1973, when the Supreme Court struck down laws criminalizing abortion in Roe v. Wade, President Richard M. Nixon made no public statement. But the next day, newly released tapes reveal, he privately expressed ambivalence.

Nixon worried that greater access to abortions would foster “permissiveness,” and said that “it breaks the family.” But he also saw a need for abortion in some cases — like interracial pregnancies, he said.
“There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white,” he told an aide, before adding, “Or a rape.”

On Dec. 9, 1972, Nixon talks to Colson about the appointment of building trades union leader Peter Brennan as secretary of labor:

NIXON: “The idea, they finally think the appointment of a working man makes them think we’re for the working man.”
    COLSON: “That’s precisely it.”
NIXON: “They talk about all the tokenism. We appoint blacks, and they don’t think we’re for blacks. Mexicans. They don’t think we’re for Mexicans. But a working man, by golly, that is really something.”

It does seem that we whites have a easy time putting in racists and pretending that we don’t know that they are racists.

My son said that it is very convenient that my generation is still lying about the lengths that whites went to to continue our dominance of this country.

I have to admit that his shows that those who knew about these tapes hid them from the america people to preserve Nixon’s image at the expense of the OTWs.

Here in New Orleans 7 police officers have just been cleared of any wrong doings after shooting a young black man 14 times. 12 of them were in his back.

The young man was visiting his family from Houston. He was the first death in New Orleans in 2009. He was murdered in the parking lot of his family’s home.

How is this different from the death of Neda? I am white but I can not condone this behavior.

If you think thats something just wait till we get the real low down on Bush and Cheney. Nixon is a light weight when it comes to dirt, when the dirt GWB and dirty cheney did in the dark come to the light maybe we will have the pleasure of seeing them on trail for treason or war crimes, at least war profiteering. I for one cant wait for a lot of truths to come out, I’m only 62 I can wait till I am 82 if

Nixon: If only the Jews would behave….
    By Eric Fingerhut · June 24, 2009
Another release of Richard Nixon tapes, another recording of the former president saying negative things about Jews. So what else is new?

Tuesday’s batch of 150 hours of recordings included a 20-minute February 21, 1973 conversation between Nixon and evangelist Billy Graham, an unappealing sequel of sorts to a conversation they’d had the previous year about Jewish control of the media.

This time, they’re primarily talking about Jewish opposition to Christian evangelical efforts, which they both agreed would make Americans turn against the Jewish community. Nixon seems to believe that if the Jews simply “behaved” themselves, there wouldn’t be any problems.

“Deep down in this country there is a lot of anti-Semitism. All this is going to do is stir it up,” said Nixon.

Graham agrees, responding that anti-Semitism in America is “right under the surface” and that this will bring it “right to the top.”

Nixon continues, “Anti-Semitism is stronger than we think. You know, it’s unfortunate. But this has happened to the Jews. It happened in Spain, it happened in Germany, it’s happening — and now it’s going to happen in America if these people don’t start behaving.”

A little later in the 20-minute conversation, Nixon says there’s nothing he wants to do more than to be a friend of both Israel and American Jews, but says that he will “have to turn back a terrible tide here if they don’t get a hold of it themselves.”

“They better understand it quick, because there are elements in this country, not just the Birchers, but a lot of reasonable people that are getting awfully sick of it.” The term Birchers is an reference to members of the extreme right-wing John Birch Society.

When Graham talks of how many leaders “in the church are shaken by this” because they have “been the most pro-Israel” and are now “being attacked,” Nixon says about Jews that “it may be they have a death wish. You know that’s been the problem with our Jewish friends for centuries.”

Graham then starts discussing how “so many” Jewish young people “are turning away from Judaism” and that’s “scaring” Jews “to death.” He specifically cites “Jews for Jesus” efforts on campus as “frightening” Jewish leaders and leading to an overreaction.

The most distrurbing portion of the conversation comes when Graham appears to blame Jews for pornography.

During one of their exchanges about the need for Jews to behave, Graham interjects, “The Bible talks about two kinds of Jews. One is called the synagogue of Satan, they’re the ones putting out pornographic literature, they’re the ones putting out these obscene films.” Nixon then interrupts to talk about articles in Time and Newsweek magazines that he apparently believed to be inappropriate.

Roy, you are hilarious!! When you stated that you are a deeply religious man! Classic! I loved the line where you say you’re not a racist…you should go into comedy! You would have had me on the floor if you would have also said you are not a sexist…That would have put it over the edge…stop, it hurts to laugh so hard…

Now I understand why there are so many commercials about drugs we never knew we needed…Roy, you forgot to take yours.

  19. Al Says:

    Marget,
Please stop laughing so hard, you’ll dehydrate yourself. Remember to drink lots of water.

    Roy,
Your mother-in-law is correct in all of her assumptions.
Your quote “ I am a republican and a practicing Christian. I am not a racist. I believe that minorities have a right to live in America as long as they recognize who made this country what it is.”
WTF is this bullshit? You are terribly racist and sexist, you recognize those facts of course.
And here is another fact you might like to recognize. The republican party has made this country what it is today. A country that is not taking an interest in it’s citizenry, with the worst health care for an industrialized nation, run away political and corporate corruption, high unemployment, and likely to go bankrupt while the likes of you are stuffing their pockets at every opportunity.
Yes, you are a republican alright, but a practicing Christian?
What are the Christians practicing these days, the inquisition is over, your priests are still molesting young boys, Jim and Tammy have flopped?
I am happy to hear that the Christians are still practicing, maybe they’ll get it right some day.
