Valuable Words Worth Repeating

Posted by michellemoquin on September 21st, 2008

Good Sunday Morning.

Like I said before a few days ago, maybe not everyone reads the comments on my blog.  However, yesterday’s comments from Anonz and AH, are valuable words worth repeating just in case you didn’t and even if you did, they are worth reading again. Therefore I am posting them again here.

Anonz, our personal ‘deep throat’ republican writes in as often as he can, (that is when he is not running for his life) and informs us of inside intelligence that only a well-connected repub would know about our government and their well planned corruption. He has been a major player himself. We are grateful to hear from him and learn even if what he reveals is more disturbing than one could even imagine.

Anonz’s comment:

The new republican argument will be if Congress had practiced true “conservatism,” then we wouldn’t be in this mess. The republicans will attempt to put the blame on the people themselves. You will be hearing it was the people’s fault for buying homes they could not afford.

There will be no mention of the removable of regulations that were in place to prevent those types of loans. No one will mention the suspension of the regulators whose job it is to police the institutions that have regulations to protect the public from unsound speculation with their money.

But if you think the 1.7 trillion bail out will save your investments or this country from serious consequences, think again. Have you asked yourself where the government is getting all this money to bail out these crooks with?

The answer is simple. They walk over to the Treasury and print it, then force it citizens to accept it as something of value. The citizens of the USA are then forced to accept it for their goods and services. This works fine as long as the worthless paper the money is printed on is used only in the USA.

However, other countries want real value for the US paper dollar. They come to the US Treasury with it and demand real concrete value for all those US dollars they have accumulated. This is when the shit hits the fan.

The USA has to pay what it can and ask them to hold the rest of the debt for an interest that they can agree on. That ’s like anyone else trying to get an extension on a debt they can not pay. If they accept, those countries become creditors of the USA. Countries like China, All the major oil exporting countries, Canada, Russia, japan, and a host of other nations are all holding IOUs from the US Treasury.

If they decide not to continue granting credit to the US and demand payment, our entire economy as we know it could collapse. The only reason they haven’t done it to date is because the dollar is the standard currency used to purchase petrodollars.

Ironically if Sadam Hussien had been allowed to switch to Euros, we as a nation may not have experienced this calamity. But he was slated for murder and the invasion of his country was the vehicle picked to loot the National Treasury. When it is over the entire $4 trillion that the plotters estimated they could get away with will have been accomplished without a single plotter going to jail. Hell some of us will go down in history as saviors of this debacle.

Anonz

AH, is our man from the past. And that is about all I will say except when it comes to banking, he is the ‘one-in-the-know’.  You can say he pretty much started it all.

Hello AH: It is really good to hear from you. Thanks for the very enlightening information that you posted.  I especially liked your analogy with the credit card company. You have voiced your explanation in laymen terms making it easy, even for someone like me to grasp. I appreciate that because I am sure that there are many readers who find all of this confusing and complicated.

Now the question is, we have this information, what do we the people do with it? A class action lawsuit against our government? And what about the lenders…if it is THEIR fault, because THEY were irresponsible and didn’t do THEIR do diligence, is there a case for class action lawsuits against the lenders?

As far as the Wall Streeters, as I mentioned yesterday, I say we let them fall; the same treatment that the average person is getting.  No Bailout.

AH’s comment:

I do know a little something about banking and investment financing. So I would like to weigh in on this matter about the federal government rushing in to save the American people’s way of living as they have come to know it.

What your government and the pundits are telling you about how dire this situation is is all lies.

It is a ploy by the rich to cover their bad financial judgments at the taxpayers expense. The only way they can pull it off is to scare the average American into thinking that if the government doesn’t bail out the multimillionaires and billionaires that the whole system will collapse. THAT IS NOT TRUE!

The true financial situation of the country is this. The super wealthy financiers have extended themselves too far by betting more money on a pot than they have to cover the bet. A modern analogy may be:

If you kept charging against a credit card because you could continue to make the minimum payments, you could continue to charge until you; 1. reached your credit limit or 2. arranged to get the credit card company to increase your credit limit.

But, it the company raised the minimum or checked your financial behavior and subsequently lowered or stopped your credit limit, then you would have to start paying or go bankrupt.

That is what happened to the those rich company owners. They over reached their financial capability to meet the minimum payments on their debt. If this happened to you, the government would not step in and rescue you. So why are they doing it for these super rich people and how are they justifying it to you to get you to go along with the scam?

The why they are bailing out the super rich is simple. The super rich are them or their bosses. How are they justifying bailing them out now that’s the easy part for them. They scare the masses.

How? By telling them:
A the financial system will collapse if these companies are not bailed out; and
B. convince the average person he was also complicit in the cause of this debacle because he tried to purchase a mortgage that he knew that he couldn’t afford.

A. The first lie:
Lets examine what the average person has to risk losing:
1. His bank account.
2. His mutual fund or money market account;
3. His 401K or other retirement investment;
4. His ability to borrow money;
5.His employment because his employer can’t borrow money. That’s it folks. That’s all the risk the average person has in this pot.

At first glance it seems like it is what the scare propaganda is saying is correct the system will collapse if the government dosen’t bail out the super rich. But wait! There is another simplier solution to solving the average person’s loss in those five areas which were caused by the greed and unsound financial risks of the super rich. Later I will explain how they got away with doing it in the first place.

A. The truth:
1. The average person with a $100,000 on deposit has no risk of losing a penny. His money is insured by FDIC. If he has more, then he should have been more careful.
2. Mutual funds or money market accounts. – The federal government can step in and guarantee the protection of a reasonable amount of the average person’s investment in those areas up to $100,000. If he has more, he should have been more careful. He can always sue the Funds for mismanagement.
3. 401K’s and other individual retirement options. – They can be protected up to a certain amount without giving anything to the super rich who risked these people’s money recklessly.
4. Availability of money for borrowing. – The scare tactic that banks won’t lend money is just that. Banks will lend money, that’s their business. If they don’t, remember how these same crooks remind you that this is a capitalist system not a socialist one, then rest assured that a capitalist venture will arise whereby some new business will start lending money to fill the void. There is no need to rescue the fat cat who risked too much because of greed and now his band has to fold, that socialism. The same socialism that he cries when some politician proposes to give you universal health care. He is trying to convince you that socialism by government to help him is okay but not to help you.
5.Employment – Employment is always in danger. If the owner dosen’t manage his business properly, the employees will lose their jobs. Jobs will not be lost because the company can not get a loan. See 4. above.

B. The second lie:
The “experts” are dispatched to convince the average person that people who tried to buy a home that they couldn’t afford was a contributing cause to this debacle. Common sense should tell you that that is not true.

B. The truth:
It is the lending institution that determines whether the person they lend money is capable of repaying that loan. No one can just take out a loan or mortgage. He must qualify according to the rules set up and administered by the lender. If the lender is irresponsible when it comes to making loans, it is not the borrower’s fault. It does not matter how easy the government makes it for the lender to lend you money, if the lender lends money to a person or business that his do diligence should tell him that the borrower can not pay back, it is the LENDER’s fault.

This absolves the average person from any responsibility for this debacle. It is the sole responsibility of the rich trying to get richer. If they had succeeded they would be arguing that the government shouldn’t be penalizing them for taking risks and being successful.
So having taken those risk and FAILED, why should the government suddenly turn socialist and pay off their losses.

I promised to tell you how they got away with all their risky investments using the public’s money.

First let me say that one of the chief purposes of government is to protect the people from foreign threat and domestic threat.

Under protection from domestic threat comes the requirement of government to protect the public for company, institution, and corporate abuses. This is done by the government setting common sense regulations in the form of laws that protect the public from actions that would recklessly endanger the public’s money when it is being managed by private businesses for profit.

I see you have talked about some of the characters that participated in the dismantling the common sense regulations that were originally set up to protect the public. Unfortunately America is bet by a bunch of savvy crooks who are adept at convincing the average greedy person that he too can become rich if government DEREGULATES businesses and allow them to deal with the public competition will protect the public. This disingenuous piece of logic is proposed on the bases that the people are sophisticated or knowledgeable enough about finances to protect themselves and their investments from the crooks.

The second thing these republicans have done is to go behind the public’s back and restrict the enforcement of even the minimal laws set forth by the government to regulate these industries. Like I have heard before. If there is no police the crooks will run amok. Some businesses were caught short because they believed that the government was policing the regulations that were in place.

The crooks knew that the government was not policing any regulations because they are the super rich who got the government to prevent the police from enforcing the regulations. Now the government is being used to reward those crooks with taxpayers money.

AH

    EUCALYPTUS OIL FOR WINTER DISCOMFORT

Eucalyptus is one of my favorite scents… the clean, fresh, invigorating smell reminds me of a spa and I also find it offers relief for assorted common ailments. This essential oil is a wintertime must-have for me — I keep products and sprays containing it in my medicine cabinet to spray into my shower and inhale when I have a cold. It can also be used topically to provide relief for sore and stiff muscles, sprains and strains, and can be soothing when applied to the temples for tension headaches. Simply put a drop of diluted eucalyptus oil on your temples and massage lightly.
For advice on how to use eucalyptus oil safely and effectively, I called herbalist and ethnobotanist David Winston, RH, AHG, author of several books on herbals including his most recent, Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina and Stress Relief (Healing Arts).
    CLEARS THINGS OUT
According to Winston, two of the best ways to use eucalyptus oil are topically and in boiling water to form an inhalant, to break up chest and head congestion. To clear out congestion, drip a few drops of the essential oil into about an inch of boiling water and make a steam tent over your head with a towel. Or, you can buy vaporizers made to be used with essential oils as an alternative for inhalation. There’s also the old cure-all Mom used to rub onto your throat and chest to relieve cough and congestion — Vicks VapoRub, which contains lots of eucalyptus oil. Another idea is to make tea with eucalyptus leaves. Drink four ounces of tea three times per day.
Topically eucalyptus can be used to ease muscle aches and pains, sprains and strains. Put two or three drops of the pure essential oil in eight ounces of olive or sesame oil — this is great as massage oil, in addition to being an effective topical analgesic. You might notice when you first apply it that the oil feels warm and then a cool sensation kicks in — that is part of the oil’s ability to down-regulate the sensation of pain, says Winston.
    LOTS OF USES
Also try swishing a few drops of the oil in your mouthwash to ease bad breath or periodontal disease. Because eucalyptus is antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory, it not only helps to mask the odor or discomfort, but also helps cure the core problem. Again, be sure to use only very diluted oil for this. Pastilles with eucalyptus oil as an ingredient can be an effective antidote to bad breath or a sore throat. Winston likes Olbas pastilles. For liquid body soap with eucalyptus oil, that has natural antibacterial properties, try Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps.
There are, of course, some precautions. Herbalists don’t recommend eucalyptus for those with inflammatory or gastrointestinal diseases, kidney problems or liver disease because it can exacerbate symptoms — though some experienced naturopathic physicians might use it for these problems. Most eucalyptus preparations are too strong for the tender skin of children under age four — and be sure never to allow eucalyptus oil near their faces or noses either. Eucalyptus, like most therapeutic agents, can interact with some medications, herbal and dietary supplements so it’s safest to only use after consultation with a doctor.

    Michelle

I am back from a parallel universe. The events on the planet were so similar to the one presently on the planet earth I will share them with you if you wish.

First the test: I feel that if the test holds true, then we can discuss telling your readers about the wars, natural disasters, and social events that are in store for them.

The test: On the parallel planet earth, let’s call it earth-2, Obama won the election with 53% of the popular and three hundred something ( telling the exact number may violate some alien edict, I am as yet not aware of) electoral votes.

The pundits were quoting that no republican has won the Presidency without winning Ohio. Obama won it with 52% of the vote.

The Democrats gained at least 3 seats in the Senate and 10 in the House.

Come back to me and I will tell you: what nuclear disasters occurred and where; Where the terrorist will strike and how much chaos Americans will suffer because of it; what natural disasters to expect around the globe; whether palin will win reelection in Alaska; the incredible effect Obama’s election has on the world politic; who kills who in the world of politics; and much more.

While there I scanned a decade from 2009 to 2018. I can not go back to the period, but I took notes. Shall I tell you where you and Doug will move to?

    Adam

  3. AH Says:

    Michelle

I went with Adam. Obama won by three hundred forty ? electoral votes on that planet. But being a human, I noticed a significant difference that Adam missed that could skewer those results here.

However, I will give him his thunder. So I will also wait.

  4. Doug Says:

The sad part of all of this is that due to the greed and power of those elite people in Anonz’s club (no offense Anonz, just the truth) that have created this strategic mess(for not only the U.S. economy, but the global economy, and the huge profits for themselves) something still needs to be done. I do applaud Pelosi (and you Anonz) for her persistence and insistence(at this point) in telling Bush that he must include in the bailout proposal issues that help the people of America and not simply the corporations.

This whole issue is simple really…it goes like this:
Paulson was discussing this morning, on Meet the Press, that these actions are being done for the American people…uh-huh…So, Paulson can you tell us how much is really going to be “needed” for this bailout? “Not at this time. We set a point of $700 Billion. We may not need that much, but it is also possible that we may end up asking for more!” He also stated that they are allowing foreign banks and corporations in on this in order to help this pass through more easily and expeditiously…In other words, the money that these rich crooks are stealing from the American tax payer will be able to be used to buy the REO’s off of the bank books by these same people’s offshore companies without taxation implications. Then this will free up the necessary funds for the banking institutions to begin to lend again in order to help stimulate the economy instead of them hoarding their money to make sure they can stay afloat if nothing were to be done… Then, these offshore corporations, owned by the insider elite crooks, can then offer this real estate that they bought for pennies on the dollar away from the banks to the public at the now retail level. Despite the fact that the loans on this real estate is currently backed now by the socialist government programs called Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, that we the taxpayers own…is something we can call “Feddie”!! So, we are going to be buying back what we already own? Um… our loans, meaning the loans that the taxpayer is responsible for through the Freddie and Fannie bailout is also being sold back to the people again so that they can pay again?…So, what has been accomplished? In reality, nothing has changed, excepting the fact that the banks get to write off all of their losses and the people are stuck with their bad loans, again, and a huge tax burden. But, they can buy those same houses back with their money they aren’t getting from their jobs that they are losing. Oh, but the people will feel better now that they have been rescued by this brilliant scam and will begin to be more comfortable and spend and borrow again.

    Simple, right?…uh-huh…

The brilliance of this Ponzi scheme is that there must be a solution to this problem regardless. It is a given at this point that there will be some big money makers through all of this as Anonz has stated. But there must be something done in order to stimulate the economy as it has nearly come to a standstill in so many respects.

And, on top of this, if the American people don’t see through this scheme and vote for McCain, he will maintain Bush’s tax programs and actually reduce taxes for the rich (to help stimulate the economy)…uh-huh…

My god, truth is better than fiction!

  5. Anonz Says:

    Michelle,

AH’s commentary was still very good. Here are some additions AH would have made if he knew how truly stupid the average American is about his money:

    A.The Truth 1
if one has more than $100,000 to deposit in a savings account. He should know to put the balance up to $100,000 in a different bank company so that he could continue to take advantage of the FDIC guarantee.

There were some type-0s in AH’s that could change the meaning of his point. I dn’t know whose typo it was, but here are some corrections I found, respectively:

Under protection from domestic threat comes the requirement of government to protect the public for{from} company, institution, and corporate abuses.
    My second typo correction:

Unfortunately America is bet{beset} by a bunch of savvy crooks who are adept at convincing the average greedy person that he too can become rich if government DEREGULATES businesses and allow{s} {competition between the businesses to} protect the public.
    Clarification is needed here:

Some businesses were caught short because they believed that the government was policing the regulations that were in place.
I would like to add there is another criminal wrinkle to this puzzle. Many companies that appear to to be losing everything aren’t. Rather, the few at the top are still as rich as ever while the rest of the company has lost everything. To accomplished this the books aren’t cooked just flipped.

An example: Lehman Brothers and AIG

Using AH’s method of explanation, I will try to explain this scam simply. Company A loans borrower Bill $10,000. He goes to an insurance entity, Company B to purchase insurance in the event that Bill does not repay the loan.

Company B will not take the risk unless it checks out Bill’s credit worthiness. Based on that information, Company B will decide whether to accept the risk and what it will charge A for taking the risk.

The point is twofold: !. the original mortgage loan has just created new business and thereby new jobs. 2. There is a second check on Bill’s ability to repay the mortgage which protects the lending system for everyone involved.

The scam forms when Company A forms his own insurance company within his company. Then Company A purchases that insurance policy on Bill’s ability to repay from his own in house insurance company.

Again the point is twofold: Company A separates his in house insurance company from Company A so that his in house insurance company can default on paying the insurance policy if Bill doesn’t repay the loan to his company A and no one will be the wiser.
Now Company A can lend to anyone because his in house insurance company will sell him insurance on all his loans. I will do this without anymore check than Company A does to give Bill the loan in the first place. That is how the “sub-prime” loan was conceived.

Here a crooked mortgage lender can create a loan that appears to be a good investment, that is insured by an independent insurance entity. Using this scam, he can sell it to an unsuspecting buyer and make money even if it tanks.

Now I will leave it to you to figure which owners made a bundle on the appearance of losing everything. Was it Lehman’s or AIG? Hint: Look for the company who used its own insurance company to insure its loans and then defaulted on paying the claims its company had on those loans.

In the investment business there are so many inventive ways to rip off the public. That’s why government regulation and police to enforce the regulations are needed to protect the public.

    Anonz

  6. Anonz Says:

    Doug

Don’t be fooled by the claim that the market is in chaos, or that the economy needs stimulus. That is part of the scare tactic.

Consider they are telling you about the volatility of the market. The big two day swing in the market was nothing if you examine it logically.

A simple answer: One a loss of 500 points in one day is a very small % of today’s market. There have been many bigger losses in the market in the past.

Think Doug! What is the market difference in profit and loss between the big loss one day and the huge gain the next? Answer, about 34 points. Since when does anyone get upset over a market swing of 34 points?

This is just a ploy by the republicans to scare the democrats into giving them absolute control of the $700 billion dollar bail out. They will promptly divide it up between the Anonzes of the world and continue ripping the small investor and the American people off.

    THERE IS NO CRISIS!

There is a drive to make the American people believe the economy is in dire jeopardy to get them to force the democrats to give the bush administration total control over how the $700 billion will be used. The democrats want to include provisions to give relief to people about to lose their mortgages and to insure that the owners and leaders of these defaulting companies don’t benefit from this bail out.

The republicans need to force the democrats to give them the money without those provisions. They will kill even more companies to force the issue. These are the same companies that fired tens of thousands of American workers and gave their jobs to foreign companies.

THERE IS NO FINANCIAL OR ECONOMIC CRISIS. This is a ploy to burden any new administration with a debt so huge that it will not be able to launch any social health programs or tax relief for the middle class.

The bush administration intends to dole out every penny of the $700 billion before the new administration takes office. They also intend to pile up as much new debt as it can on the incoming new administration as it can. Wait until it becomes knowledge the military commitments the bush administration intends to leave the new administration with.

Thanks Anonz for the elaboration. Nice.

Wow, lots going on here at MM…

Mischa, Lisa from Philly is here : ) she said to say hello, she just took off to attend the Emmy’s, she looks like Marissa Tomei, I told her to just walk up to an usher and say, ‘dead on, balls accurate’ (fr My Cousin Vinny) to lose those ‘noboby’ nosebleed seats they bought, hahaha…Her hub almost gave me his ticket until he realized that the 2 of us would be trouble and would definitely be invited to an after party and stay out all night ; ) smart man, he he, although why he didn’t want to just serve up brekkie to two women in gowns is beyond me : )

Anonz, AH, anyone (?) want to tell me how to explain to Repubs stuck on this talking point – ‘well congress and the house have a democratic majority who stand in the way of any good repub regulating process at every turn, in fact Dems always get in the way of anything/all the good things Repubs try to do’ – hmmm, I try to just go Zen silent but it ticks me off that they maintain some kind of silly moral superiority in this regard. I have started to just laugh and say, ‘can we just talk about Jesus walking on water instead?’ bc it’s kinder and better comic relief than saying, ‘oh f**k off, would you?’

Melinda in Oz! wow, Mischa you are around this world BABE, let’s go on a world tour, do you like the way I included myself in there? hahaha…knowing Mischa personally has always been a fun privilege (I never take friendships for granted either), it’s so cool to see her so widely acknowledged.

M in O, I have been to Perth and Margaret River in Oz only, when my best pal in Singapore moves back to Sydney next year I will get there again to tour around. I loved Cottesloe Beach and you are right, your blokes are rough, too chauvinistic for my taste, though they flirt nice with the accent, hahaha. I have a male BFF who is Kiwi and I have to straighten him out about his chauvinistic attitude with his girlfriend at times, he’s like my bro so I can kick his ass like that and he actually listens, but not all men are that open to listening/being attentive/meeting women’s needs as opposed to only their own, but now I clearly see that if they are not into doing that then they can just FRO (f**k right off) as far as I’m concerned. I don’t see any reason to tolerate bad or negligent behavior anymore, I’m too nice for that BS, and if a man can’t see that, well then, sorry to hear it and bu-bye now : )

It’s so simple really: happy wife (woman), happy life : ) – right?

Now about your personal q’s: why would I have you and your mates on? I have to say, online or off-line I would NEVER ever toy with any man’s affections/feelings that way, and certainly not one as special as anonz, he is my esteemed sweet pea after all.
Is there something you don’t know? Not playing stupid here, but, what do you mean exactly? If you’ve been reading here for awhile I think you know the Anonz-Zen LuvFest goings on, yes?

I’m touched that I have fans in Oz, how cool is that?! I love Aussie women : ) you all just tell it like it is and I love that, much more straightforward than most US women and you don’t spend so much time yakking about looking good and losing weight, etc…that s**t bores me, can’t we just roll with eating right, exercising here and there and shutting up about fine lines bc they’re not such a bad thing, and if they are, then zip it and get it handled, no need to talk it to death, am I right?

Back to anonz, I would say we have a mutual admiration, respect and affection for each other and due to the fact that we have not met in person I would use ‘en’ words to say, speaking only for myself (but you did not ask anonz and btw, why not?? why me?) – I would say I am enamored? enthralled? enticed? but…en la amour…? Well now, that requires some fairly extensive personal contact, yes? no?

Mischa, Anonz, AH, such great info, thank you for saving me hours of research although I do like to double check this info (no offense but I don’t just do the total trusting thing so easily anymore, sorry…) and will work on that while I have a few hours free right now.

    Ciao, Zen

  9. Zen Lill Says:

    One more thing…so sorry…

anonz (and Misch), I know you probably won’t mind but since 2/3 of my readership comes from somewhere else, would you mind if I educated on my blog as well? People so enjoyed and appreciated the ‘sweet pea monologues’ that I know they’re probably thirsty for more knowledge and with this election coming up quickly why not flood the blogosphere with some good info? Let me know. I could use a few days off to take care of some personal biz also.

Misch, thanks for your comment on my site, I can relate to the tears, and the car did not cost an arm just a few fingers : )

anonz, thanks for the Lehman/AIG company A/company B analogy, that was a complex situation simplified so even I can understand it : ) although it’s horrifying and this doo-doo just keeps getting deeper, it’s getting depressing bc how would Obama be able to change any of this serious looting anyway? Ciao bello, ZL

  11. Doug Says:

    Anonz,
I understand and am aware that the economy is not is such a chaotic situation, I have been stating this for a while, as well as the proof of this past week and the nature of the stock market fluctuation of only a few points overall.

But the market is run also by emotion. The average Joe/Joan is feeling that there needs to be something done, simply do to the fact most people are in a paralysis mode with things, based on the mis/disinformation with the administration and their press core. Also, no one (bank institutions) is doing much with their money right now. Banks aren’t really lending, excepting to 720 FICO and above with 20% down…mostly. And the loans are very basic with rare stated income or fancy bells and whistles…This gives the facade to the average person that things are far worse off than they seem. Rates right now are at their nearest lows, and people still are not going out and getting money. They are feeling that things are crashing and are too unstable to make any major decisions. Although, now is the perfect time to be buying real estate and getting into loans with such great rates…

The fact that the economy is so directly influenced by the emotion of the populace. And the populace is directly influenced by the emotions of the market. This becomes a self perpetuating situation with either direction of where the market may be going. It could just as easily coincide with the “Irrational Exuberance” that the market had going on before the system crashed. Same thing but different public perception.

But then when one adds into this mix the Repugnicant manipulation and corruption to the market there is a stranglehold that takes place regardless of whether the market is actually well or not. In a free market society, as the market itself is a living organism of such, if the market (or consumer) is unstable to the environment and uneasy with the situation, the economy will begin to close down whether the actual dynamics of the market are healthy or not simply due to the emotional baggage that the consumer is bringing to the table.

Without stabilizing the emotions of the consumer the market would still eventually fix itself, but with an election outcome to control and the timing of the situation at hand, the Repugnicants will make this play hereby creating the negative self perpetuating downward spiral that has to have a bandaid thrown on it or the actual time line for the fix will be like Japan and last a decade or more…

  12. Doug Says:

    AH,
I guess I should have addressed the previous entry to you(?), as I was mistaken by the byline and the final signature…

Man, I would so enjoy a sit down with you…I’m a big fan!!

  13. Health Info Says:

Exercise has also been correlated with increased telomere length. That’s something you should covet mightily, because the length of your telomeres (the narrow caps at the ends of your chromosomes) pretty much determines how long you’ll stay healthy.

  14. Joe Says:

I see white house trying to scare us with another 9/11 to spook the congress into granting them control over the financial markets.

  15. Nattie Says:

I’m a Russian visiting New York for a few months. I came here with my father. He is putting together a loan program for a business idea he has back home. It is scary back home. Many russians are suffering because of the war in Georgia. It seems that our bond market has lost about 50% of its backing from foreigners because of Russia invasion of Georgia. My father like our leaders blame the republican party for provoking Putin into entering Georgia. Now we are here looking for a loan in a market that the republicans have made a nightmare for the American people. My brother says who are these people who keep voting for these republicans. My father says that americans are such stupid bigots that they would rather live in shit than have a black man in the white house. He is so angry all the time. He says that the shitty americans spent so much time angering the world about Russia’s communism while practicing the most barbaric from of racism imaginable.
I love America. I think that the cold war helped Russia to become this crooked democracy that we are. It may take another 50 years for us to have an honest democracy, but right now its still better than under communism. Looking at the state of America’s democracy I can see how difficult it is to remove the crooks.

    Nattie

  16. Mark Says:

Joe you are so right. The country is in a lot of trouble. My family is so rabid about Obama being black that they can’t get behind the change he wants to bring to this country.

    Mark

  17. Cindy Says:

    Joe

Here in Miami I experience the same attitude. I am almost embarrassed to be white. How can we whites continue to justify supporting a man just because he is white. My friends, business associates, family, and neighbors are gathering to form a force to make sure that that moslem does not get into the white house. We know that we don’t really believe Obama is a moslem. We use the word moslem to mean nigger.

In every meeting the word moslem is said with such hatred that it makes me sick. These are people who will stoop to any crime in the polling place to prevent the “moslem” from getting in office.
    Cindy

  18. Sophie Says:

I’m from Michigan, Joe. But it’s the same there. I am now in San Francisco, Ca. What a difference a zip code makes. Bigotry is so systemic in places there that the people think that it is their god given right to be better than what they call OTWs here.

I’ve been here for three years and it took Obama’s run for the presidency for me to acknowledge my latent racist attitudes.

    Sophie

  19. Sophie Says:

    Joe

God bless you for saying what needs to be said. My family hates blacks and they have never come into contact with one. They call Obama an ungrateful nigger because all this country has given him and his people he would pay us back by trying to be it president. I am ashamed of being from Pennsylvania.

    Sophie

  20. Jack Says:

Please people, I’m white and I am not voting for the “N” because I don’t think he is qualified. I don’t care about his color. Just because we whites want some experience in the white house doesn’t mean we are racist.

    Jack

  21. Susan Says:

My family hate blacks, but I think they will hold their noses and vote for obama because they are tired of supporting the republicans. When I say my family I mean my mother, sister, brother and father. My grand parents haven’t been told because my parents say that they would disinherit us if they knew that we were considering voting for a n.

Obama can’t help that he came out black. He could have been born white. His mother was white. I say give him a chance. The white part of him could come out.

    Susan

Don’t buy the argument that this crisis was caused because of the government trying to make sure that everybody in America could own a home. This was caused by greed.
