‘Just Noticing’: Observations Of A Blogger

  • Just noticing…that it seems that some of my readers are afraid to post to my blog.

What’s up with that? I will remind them once again that it is easy. They can post anything under an alias or without any name in the name block, and remain completely anonymous.

That being said, I will try to accommodate for a period.  So you know who you are, here is your article that you e’d me.:  ”The Truth…” This is where I start all my talks. I like to know that  you can hold your own in the crucible of the world opinion.

Truth Has Fallen and Taken Liberty With It

By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS

There was a time when the pen was mightier than the sword. That was a time when people believed in truth and regarded truth as an independent power and not as an auxiliary for government, class, race, ideological, personal, or financial interest.

Today Americans are ruled by propaganda. Americans have little regard for truth, little access to it, and little ability to recognize it.

Truth is an unwelcome entity. It is disturbing. It is off limits. Those who speak it run the risk of being branded “anti-American,” “anti-semite” or “conspiracy theorist.”

Truth is an inconvenience for government and for the interest groups whose campaign contributions control government.

Truth is an inconvenience for prosecutors who want convictions, not the discovery of innocence or guilt.

Truth is inconvenient for ideologues.

Today many whose goal once was the discovery of truth are now paid handsomely to hide it. “Free market economists” are paid to sell offshoring to the American people. High-productivity, high value-added American jobs are denigrated as dirty, old industrial jobs. Relicts from long ago, we are best shed of them. Their place has been taken by “the New Economy,” a mythical economy that allegedly consists of high-tech white collar jobs in which Americans innovate and finance activities that occur offshore. All Americans need in order to participate in this “new economy” are finance degrees from Ivy League universities, and then they will work on Wall Street at million dollar jobs.

Economists who were once respectable took money to contribute to this myth of “the New Economy.”

And not only economists sell their souls for filthy lucre. Recently we have had reports of medical doctors who, for money, have published in peer-reviewed journals concocted “studies” that hype this or that new medicine produced by pharmaceutical companies that paid for the “studies.”

The Council of Europe is investigating the drug companies’ role in hyping a false swine flu pandemic in order to gain billions of dollars in sales of the vaccine.

The media helped the US military hype its recent Marja offensive in Afghanistan, describing Marja as a city of 80,000 under Taliban control. It turns out that Marja is not urban but a collection of village farms.

And there is the global warming scandal, in which  NGOs. the UN, and the nuclear industry colluded in concocting  a doomsday scenario in order to create profit in pollution.

Wherever one looks, truth has fallen to money.

Wherever money is insufficient to bury the truth, ignorance, propaganda, and short memories finish the job.

I remember when, following CIA director William Colby’s testimony before the Church Committee in the mid-1970s, presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan issued executive orders preventing the CIA and U.S. black-op groups from assassinating foreign leaders.  In 2010 the US Congress was told by Dennis Blair, head of national intelligence, that the US now assassinates its own citizens in addition to foreign leaders.

When Blair told the House Intelligence Committee that US citizens no longer needed to be arrested, charged, tried, and convicted of a capital crime, just murdered on suspicion  alone of being a “threat,” he wasn’t impeached. No investigation pursued. Nothing happened. There was no Church Committee. In the mid-1970s the CIA got into trouble for plots to kill Castro. Today it is American citizens who are on the hit list. Whatever objections there might be don’t carry any weight. No one in government is in any trouble over the assassination of U.S. citizens by the U.S. government.

As an economist, I am astonished that the American economics profession has no awareness whatsoever that the U.S. economy has been destroyed by the offshoring of U.S. GDP to overseas countries. U.S. corporations, in pursuit of absolute advantage or lowest labor costs and maximum CEO “performance bonuses,” have moved the production of goods and services marketed to Americans to China, India, and elsewhere abroad. When I read economists describe offshoring as free trade based on comparative advantage, I realize that there is no intelligence or integrity in the American economics profession.

Intelligence and integrity have been purchased by money. The transnational or global U.S. corporations pay multi-million dollar compensation packages to top managers, who achieve these “performance awards” by replacing U.S. labor with foreign labor. While Washington worries about “the Muslim threat,” Wall Street, U.S. corporations and “free market” shills destroy the U.S. economy and the prospects of tens of millions of Americans.

Americans, or most of them, have proved to be putty in the hands of the police state.

Americans have bought into the government’s claim that security requires the suspension of civil liberties and accountable government. Astonishingly, Americans, or most of them, believe that civil liberties, such as habeas corpus and due process, protect “terrorists,” and not themselves. Many also believe that the Constitution is a tired old document that prevents government from exercising the kind of police state powers necessary to keep Americans safe and free.

Most Americans are unlikely to hear from anyone who would tell them any different.

I was associate editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal. I was Business Week’s first outside columnist, a position I held for 15 years. I was columnist for a decade for Scripps Howard News Service, carried in 300 newspapers. I was a columnist for the Washington Times and for newspapers in France and Italy and for a magazine in Germany. I was a contributor to the New York Times and a regular feature in the Los Angeles Times. Today I cannot publish in, or appear on, the American “mainstream media.”

For the last six years I have been banned from the “mainstream media.” My last column in the New York Times appeared in January, 2004, coauthored with Democratic U.S. Senator Charles Schumer representing New York. We addressed the offshoring of U.S. jobs. Our op-ed article produced a conference at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. and live coverage by C-Span. A debate was launched. No such thing could happen today.

For years I was a mainstay at the Washington Times, producing credibility for the Moony newspaper as a Business Week columnist, former Wall Street Journal editor, and former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury. But when I began criticizing Bush’s wars of aggression, the order came down to Mary Lou Forbes to cancel my column.

The American corporate media does not serve the truth.  It serves the government and the interest groups that empower the government.

America’s fate was sealed when the public and the anti-war movement bought the government’s 9/11 conspiracy theory. The government’s account of 9/11 is contradicted by much evidence. Nevertheless, this defining event of our time, which has launched the US on interminable wars of aggression and a domestic police state, is a taboo topic for investigation in the media. It is pointless to complain of war and a police state when one accepts the premise upon which they are based.

These trillion dollar wars have created financing problems for Washington’s deficits and threaten the U.S. dollar’s role as world reserve currency. The wars and the pressure that the budget deficits put on the dollar’s value have put Social Security and Medicare on the chopping block. Former Goldman Sachs chairman and U.S. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson is after these protections for the elderly. Fed chairman Bernanke is also after them. The Republicans are after them as well. These protections are called “entitlements” as if they are some sort of welfare that people have not paid for in payroll taxes all their working lives.

With over 21 per cent unemployment as measured by the methodology of 1980, with American jobs, GDP, and technology having been given to China and India, with war being Washington’s greatest commitment, with the dollar over-burdened with debt, with civil liberty sacrificed to the “war on terror,” the liberty and prosperity of the American people have been thrown into the trash bin of history.

The militarism of the U.S. and Israeli states, and Wall Street and corporate greed, will now run their course. As the pen is censored and its might extinguished, I am signing off.

Paul Craig Roberts was an editor of the Wall Street Journal and an Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury.  His latest book, HOW THE ECONOMY WAS LOST, has just been published by CounterPunch/AK Press. He can be reached at: PaulCraigRoberts@yahoo.com

Readers: Only one ‘just noticing’ today, but nonetheless this article is filled with interesting observations. Any comments or any to add? Blog me.

Po: I missed your comment yesterday. Thank you, but I do not know how much I am helping; I hope more than I think. Our country can be just as corrupt, only our politicians and those in power do it covertly. Our lives, unlike yours, are not threatened at the polls. No, we peacefully punch our vote, elections are surreptitiously stolen, and our lives are threatened through legislation. Thankfully our past elections were not the status quo, and things are looking up for the American people.

And hopefully your election in the coming weeks will not be either. I hear Anonz is there – I believe he has a personal interest in smashing the status quo. I have a feeling he will know best what to do. I wish only a better future for you, and the rest of the people of Darfur. Be safe.

Mike: The tea baggers. But I know you knew that. :)

Don’t Give Up

Readers: This one’s for all of you.

Bob: Real life is funny indeed.

Mike: All that keeps coming to my mind is EVERYONE deserves good health care coverage. What kind of person is a person who refuses that privilege to ANYONE? It is really quite simple when one looks at it logically: Basically the Republicans and anyone not supporting reformed health care, is voting against EVERYONE having that privilege. Plain and simple. Why would any decent person not want health care for EVERYONE? Obviously, many people are unfortunately ‘not decent’ people.

Viv: Speaking of the obvious…when will humans get a clue? As Doug pointed out, ‘They are acting like they can kill a bull with a squirt gun…’. Thanks for keeping us in the loop of the happenings. As always, I enjoy hearing from the TAO in any manner.

Orgun: I have to say that I agree with your cousin. Women are in the position now where change can happen. The men you are alining yourselves with need to fight for your freedoms, your equality, as if they were fighting for their own. It will not sit well with Madaline should the men not stand by their word to support the women, as they said they would do. Be strong….don’t give up.

The Now Of Tao

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 21st January 2010

I discovered this article and I felt what I read held some truth for me…maybe it will for you. At least for those of you that Twitter…and FaceBook……rapidly texting…and IM’ing….Wow – There is a huge world out there that communicates in small sentences.

But how much are we actually connecting? Are these means of communication superficial as they first appear to be, or can these short little written blurbs and blurts to our friends and loved ones, and yes even strangers,  actually be deep and satisfying dialogue? And if not, why not? Can there be the Tao in Twitter? I think there can, but you tell me.

The pithy can be powerful. Consider the comedian’s one-liner, a haiku poem or the once-revolutionary telegram. Similarly, one of the most useful tools within Buddhism is the use of short statements that potentially transport the listener or reader. Here’s an example from the Zen tradition: “The finger pointing at the moon is not the moon.” In other words, if you are looking for the real thing (here, the moon) don’t get stuck on the tool that points the way (the finger).

The pithy can be powerful and this digital age–with its almost-instantaneous and tsunami-like communication of texting, tweeting and instant messaging–is perhaps the ideal medium for the brief and powerful message. Without doubt, there is merit and great convenience to the almost-immediate and almost-always accessible. Those of us who use these options know how convenient it is to text “I’ll be there in five minutes” or to send a quick love note (I’ll leave that to your imagination!) or to get an update on a company or personality we are following. Moreover, among many other possibilities, the digital realm also offers us extraordinary opportunity for education, cross-border communication, social engagement and non-violent activism.

I think we also know that these types of communication burden us sometimes: even more we need to respond to (and quickly), even more we need to read, keep up on and know. Ugh! These speedy means of messaging–as well as social and business networking–are also conducive to mindlessness, distractibility and other unintended counterproductive side effects. Vicki Rideout of the Kaiser Family Foundation pointed out recently that she is concerned about how the widespread use of these virtual means by kids will impact their capacity to focus and concentrate.

Not unlike other forms of instant gratification, it turns out the new media rarely satisfies us for long. We are still left wanting more and–with each wave of technological innovation–wanting it faster, sooner, quicker. Dr. Larry Rosen, a psychology professor at California State University, anticipates that “the newest generations, unlike their older peers, will expect an instant response from everyone they communicate with, and won’t have the patience for anything less.” That should make us pause, both for our kids and ourselves. Pause if you can, that is.

Like our thoughts, the tools of the new media are good servants but poor masters. These days, you just can’t believe whatever you think!

Despite the potential of floating adrift in a sea of interpersonal communications, we often remain lonely and isolated, our deeper inborn need for intimacy not satisfied.

My students now often ask how they can use these terse, digital conversations in a way that deepens (not deadens) their lives.

Here’s an excerpt from a text dialogue with a student:

Student: Why am I more lonely now, with twitter, texting, IM’ing, networking?

Lama SD: Where’s the heart in this hardware? Problem in twittering not new — it’s about how we use technology. Tao Te Ching 24: “He who rushes ahead doesn’t go far”

Student: What do mean by heart in this hardware?

Lama SD: Look deeper. Life is relationship. Make every (digital) encounter meaningful, and every word, character, space count.

Student: Can u b more specific?

Lama SD: Slow down. Breathe. Reflect b4 responding. Become aware of what you are doing as you are doing it. Unplug from tech for some time every day. Go topless (w/o laptop).

Other students wonder how to integrate the spiritual into our daily technology-ridden lives. Can there be a deeper dimension in twittering, texting, chatting and instant messaging? The Tao Te Ching—itself a small, poetic volume of pith and profound statements—may be relevant here. The Tao Te Ching, quoted above, teaches us how to experience harmony amidst diversity, peace amidst cacophony and shows us how to be there while getting there: being right here (and now) wherever we (think we) are going.

Virtual dialogue with another student:

Student: How does texting, etc. relate to the spiritual path?

Lama SD: We r the hand inside the Muppet of technology. Tao is the hand inside our hand. Don’t have to get into the flow, Joe, cuz its flowing thru u right now.

Student: So Tao is inside my hand as I type?

Lama SD: Yes!

Student: Why don’t I feel it then?

Lama SD: It’s there whether we feel it or not. Not feeling it cuz Tao-Now is obscured by smalltime, temporal now.

Like driving, we are never where we are sitting in the car, but are always way ahead of ourselves. We are losing our souls, rushing to get someplace—virtually or otherwise—and then we get there and we still want to be somewhere else. This sums up what it is like to be trapped in the now of linear time, the time of past, present and future.

The spiritual traditions speak of another Now (with a capital “N”) which is beyond time and animates that which is bound by time (another way of explaining the Tao).

Digital communications are always time-bound, stuck in the temporal now. But just like everything bound in the now, they too can potentially be portals to the (spiritual) Now.

The good news is that once we awaken to the spiritual Now which is always flowing through us (and most deeply IS us), this spiritual Now can infuse everything we do in the now-of-time, including texting and twittering.

And once we wake up into the Now of the Tao, we realize that the digital world of “almost”—almost instantaneous, almost-always-accessible—-is a world of great distance. Once we inhabit the NOW, this same world –our digital lives and our daily lives– are transformed and we know the peace and deep satisfaction that the spiritual traditions all point to.

The zen of Now Available to all But few awaken. The secret of Now is being fully present now. This! Here! Can be the Tao in twitter.

As we text and tweet, as we drive and eat remember that nothing matters as much as we think it does; and yet, mysteriously enough, everything—-every word, letter, gesture and space—-actually counts.

Leave room for the Tao of Nowness.

************

Readers: For those who are into this quick type of messaging, being present and in the NOW (a nod to Eckhart Tolle) seems to be the key to finding the Tao in Twitter..in texting...

Love that last line: Leave room for the Tao of Nowness. Not to mention how it rolls mellifluously off of one’s tongue. And hey how about ‘unplugging and going topless’. I definitely need to do that more often – you?

Hi Amita: Nice to hear from you. I’m sorry that you are having a tough time in Israel. But I am sure that the training you are doing in the military would make you a fine candidate to be a girlz. The world is large but the universe is infinite. If you want to be a girlz you’ll need to not be frightened by that. :)

And I too would like to rid this world of violent men, whomever uses physical force, to kill, to control others, or to gain unrightfully, where ever they are. Where you have men who use violence for whatever reason they feel the need, we have those thankfully, however unfortunately due to circumstances, that feel the need to reciprocate with violence in order to protect us. It is the way it is. I wish that we could come up with another way to resolve our differences besides waging war on each other. And killing all of the men at will is not the answer.

Hang in there Amita, and be strong. My thoughts are with you.

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle

I have a few mantras, or affirmations if you will, that I say to myself every morning. One of them is: “It’s easy to be happy”. I just love the way it rolls off my tongue. I say this because happiness really is ‘a state of mind’. I know…I know…not exactly what you want to hear, but it is true. One ‘chooses’ to be happy…But hey, whatever helps to get one there is always welcome.

While perusing the net this morning, I came across this article written by best selling author Gretchen Rubin, whose most recent book is called The Happiness Project. Hmm…a project to attain happiness. So, I checked it out. I’m all about creating more happiness in my life. Who isn’t?

In this article Gretchen talks about her book and 7 surprising truths about what makes us happy:

In my new book The Happiness Project I describe the year I spent test-driving the wisdom of the ages, the current scientific studies, and the lessons from popular culture about how to be happier — from Aristotle to Thoreau to Seligman to Oprah. Here on the Huffington Post, I’ve recounted some of my adventures and conclusions in pursuit of happiness.

I’m describing my happiness project, but of course, the point of The Happiness Project is to encourage you to start your own happiness project. I’ve heard from many readers who have tried my suggestions themselves — such as keeping a daily one-sentence journal, making their bed, or joining a group — to happy effect.

To take just one small example, I’ve written about my idea of the abstainer/moderator split: when it comes to resisting temptation, some people find it much easier to abstain altogether, while others do better exercising moderation. (Here’s a quiz to tell you which camp you’re in.) Abstainers and moderators judge each other harshly; abstainers think moderators constantly cheat, and moderators think abstainers have a rigid, unhealthy attitude.

Neither way is the right way to resist temptation. As with many aspects of happiness, it’s a matter of knowing the right approach for you. I myself am an abstainer — like Samuel Johnson, who observed, “Abstinence is as easy to me as temperance would be difficult.” When you recognize your own nature, you’re better able to devise a happiness project that works for you.

One woman commented:

Learning that I am an abstainer … has been a great boon to my happiness. Knowing myself better helped me make the choice to give up sugar and flour all together. I have found it much easier to stick to my resolution when abstaining totally. Plus, I have lost 45 unwanted pounds over the last several months. And that is a certainly a happiness booster!

Before I started my happiness project, I certainly didn’t realize I was an abstainer, and it surprised me to discover that it was far easier for to give up things altogether than to indulge every once in a while.

In fact, as I used myself as guinea pig to test various theories about how to be happier, I discovered several things that surprised me. The most effective ways to pursue happiness were sometimes counter-intuitive.

1. Do buy happiness.
Well, maybe money can’t buy happiness, but spent wisely, it can buy things that contribute mightily to happiness. Some of the best things in life aren’t free. To be happy, we need to feel loved, secure, good at what we do, and have a sense of control. Money doesn’t automatically fill these requirements, of course, but it sure can help.

2. Don’t get organized.
When I faced tackling the intimidating piles of clutter in my apartment and office, my first impulse was to run to a supply store to buy lots of organizing gizmos. Then I realized — no! My first task was to get rid of things that I didn’t need or didn’t work. The most important tool in my clutter-clearing arsenal turned out to be trash-bags. (Here are 27 bonus tips for keeping your house in order.)

In many cases, after sorting through a pile, I found myself left with nothing to organize. Conquering clutter is a happiness booster because for most people, outer order contributes to inner calm.

3. Do let the sun go down on my anger.
In the past, I’d always conscientiously aired every complaint before bedtime. Studies show, however, that the notion of “anger catharsis” is nonsense. Venting anger related to minor, fleeting annoyances just amplifies bad feelings; not expressing anger often allows them to dissipate.

4. Don’t insist on “the best.”
There are two types of decision makers: satisficers seek to satisfy certain criteria; maximizers seek to make the best possible decision. Once satisficers find a tent or a watch that meets their requirements, they buy it; maximizers want to find the best tent or the best watch. Maximizers tend to be less happy than satisficers, because they agonize over their choices. I often remind myself of one of my favorite Secrets of Adulthood (cribbed from Voltaire): Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

5. Do embrace the fun of failure.
Positive psychologists tell us that challenge and novelty are key elements of happiness. Studies show that people who do new things — learn a game, travel to unfamiliar places — are happier than people who stick to the familiar. When I tested this proposition, I figured it wouldn’t be true for unadventurous, routine-loving me, but to test it, I launched a blog. True, the novelty and challenge of my blog initially often brought me frustration and anxiety, as I had to face failing at multiple tasks until I figured them out, but mastering those tasks made me extremely happy.

6. Don’t practice “random acts of kindness.”
We’ve all been urged to practice random acts of kindness — pay the toll for the next car in line, feed a parking meter, buy a stranger a cup of coffee. And studies do show that if you commit a random act of kindness, you’ll feel happier. However, the person who is the beneficiary of your random act probably won’t feel happier.

Research indicates that many people reacted to receiving a random act of kindness with — suspicion! It’s not the kindness of the act that’s the problem; it’s the randomness. We’re on guard when we don’t understand a person’s actions. Of course, it’s always nice to be nice, but if you want to boost other people’s happiness as well as your own, practice non-random kindness. Help a co-worker who has a tight deadline. Let someone with a few items cut in front of you in the check-out line. If you look, you can probably find enough opportunity for non-random kindnesses to keep you busy.

7. Do “fake it till you feel it.”
Although we assume that we act because of the way we feel, we often feel because of the way we act. An almost uncannily effective way to change my emotions, I discovered, was to act the way I wanted to feel. If I feel resentful, I act thoughtful. If I feel lethargic, I act energetic. If I smile, I feel happier. One experiment showed that people who used Botox may feel less angry, because they aren’t able to make angry, frowning faces! Although it may seem insincere at first, controlling your actions is an effective way to change your feelings.

Have you been surprised by something that did – or didn’t make you happy, contrary to your expectation?

Gretchen Rubin is the author of The Happiness Project–an account of the year she spent test-driving every conceivable principle about how to be happy.

Readers: Does any of the above resonate with you? I can say one thing…an abstainer, I am not. I am definitely into moderation. The only time I abstain is when there is a time limit. For instance I have done many cleanses in the past 10 or so years. If it requires that I not eat sugar for a month or two – no problem. No sugar for the rest of my life – no way.

Also, number 3 was a bit surprising, but true in some ways for me. Recently I have let some things go that I thought were more major and they did dissipate leaving me feeling no charge at all.

I could say more but I’d rather hear from you. Blog me.

Zen Lill: I knew you would enjoy the Rune that I pulled. It is perfect isn’t it? How lovely that you were out at the cliffs taking in the sun and sending it out into the world. There was none here to speak of but I envisioned it nontheless. I miss watching the whales and dolphins migrate at this time of year. Doug and I haven’t done that on new year’s day in a long time.

Hellooo 2010…Wholeness, Life Forces, And The Sun’s Energy

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 1st January 2010

Happy New Year!

Whether you call it ‘twenty ten, ‘two thousand ten’ ’2K10′, ‘two o, one o’, or whatever else, it is a new year, that is for sure. And being that my fave number is ‘three’, and all of the symbolism around the number three, I think it’s gonna be a wonderful year for me, and all of you too.

Remember when I pulled a Rune? I blogged about Runes back in March of last year. I decided to pull one this morning again for our beloved planet. I pulled the Rune Sowelu, Wholeness, Life forces, The Sun’s energy.

Sowelu stands for WHOLENESS, that which your true nature requires. It embodies the impulse towards self realization and indicates a path you must follow, not from ulterior motives, but from the core of your individuality.

Seeking WHOLENESS is the spiritual warrior’s true quest. And yet what you are striving to become in actuality, is what you by nature already are. You must become conscious of your essence and bring it into form, express it in a creative way. A Rune of great power, making life force available to you, Sowelu marks a time for regeneration right down to the cellular level.

Although this Rune has no ‘reversed position’, there is a reason for caution. You may see fit to withdraw, to retreat in the face of  pressing situation, especially if events or people are demanding that you expend your energy now. Know that such a retreat is a retreat in strength, and that it can indicate the need for a voyage inward for centering, for balance. Timely retreat is among the skills of the Spiritual Warrior.

At the same time, for some this Rune counsels opening yourself up, letting the Light into a part of your life that has been secret, shut away. To accomplish this may call for profound recognition, for admitting to yourself something that you have denied.

There is a prayer known as the Gayatri that embodies the spirit of Sowelu. Address the Sun in this fashion:

You who are the source of all power,

Whose rays illuminate the whole world,

illuminate also my heart

so that it too can do Your work.

While reciting the Gayatri, visualize the Sun’s rays streaming forth into the world, entering your own heart, and then streaming out from your heart center, back into the world. This is a powerful, life enhancing prayer.

Again, there is caution here not to give yourself airs. Even in a time of bountiful energy, you are required to face and vanquish your refusal to let right action flow through you. Nourish this capacity, for it is a mark of true humility.

Practice the art of doing without doing: Aim yourself truly and then maintain your aim without manipulative effort. For by our own power we do nothing. Even in loving, it is love that loved through us. This way of thinking and being integrates new energies and permits you to flow into wholeness, which is the ultimate goal of the Spiritual Warrior.

After reading the meaning of this Rune Sowelu, I was so excited. Could there have been a more appropriate Rune to pull for our beloved planet than one that represents Wholeness? Wholeness for the planet, and all of its inhabitants – how beautiful.

I have always been a big fan of the Sun as you know. :) The Sun graces us all no matter where we are on this planet. If you believe in the power of collective intention, as I do, we can all address the Sun with the above prayer…the Sun’s rays streaming from our hearts back out into the world. I just love this.

And a gentle reminder….let’s heed the warning of remaining humble throughout – there is no ego in this spreading of love and joy etc…we are only portals through which these Sun energies flow through us, out into the world, creating Wholeness.

Readers: I think creating Wholeness is a wonderful new year’s resolution for our planet and all. What do to you think? Can you be part of the collective intention of Wholeness, by addressing the Sun? Also, how does the Rune Sowelu apply to you, if at all, personally? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Blog me.

Have a beautiful first day of a new year! Let’s make it a grand year – Okay?!
