Tuesday Talk

Posted by michellemoquin on 24th September 2008

We’ve been talking politico a lot on this blog, giving it more time than I thought I ever would. Most of it has been in regards to the candidates, and of course we’ve been enlightened in many ways to say the least , but there are other things keeping my mind occupied these days too.

I’ve talked about my passion for the animals many times. The livelihood of animals is always on the forefront of my mind and although I haven’t been so verbal here lately, I have been busy.  Last weekend I worked the farmers market informing people about Prop 2.  And last night,  I donated a couple of hours, ( and volunteered Doug too: ) making phone calls at the Democratic office downtown confirming voters support of Obama and the democratic party, and informing them on Prop 2.  And lastly, ending the call with the voters confirming that they will vote Yes on Prop 2.  It’s a California thing, but an important one.

So what is Prop 2? Prop 2 is simply a very modest measure to ensure that farm animals are treated humanly by giving them more room to stretch their legs, turn around, lie down, or spread their wings. Simple, and really not much to ask for. Thankfully everyone I spoke to thought the same. It felt good to give my time to something that is important to me.

I don’t have much time this morning to elaborate but I promise it won’t be the last time that I bring this up.

I just have to add before I sign off, that waking up this morning and reading the comments between anonz and Tom…well I am not sure what to say. Doug and I talked briefly this morning. I don’t know what is worse…getting fucked, not knowing what and how it is happening or how to prevent it….or getting fucked and having a play by play account of it all and still not know how to prevent it.  Ignorance is bliss but I think I’ll choose the latter.

The image of a game board comes to my mind.  This world is really just a big game board and the name of the game is ‘life’.  The prize, the motivating factor, is money and the overwhelming desire to attain as much of it as one can. There are a few major players, (the bills) and the rest, well the rest, are just insignificant in the big picture of it all.  Sure, they players need to get as many insigs as they can on their team but really they are just pawns to play with and use as they see fit. The one with the most money wins. The funny thing is, is that the game never ends because no amount of money is ever enough. And the game continues…

Readers: As always, feel free to comment. I’m outta here…

Are you wired for sex?

Posted by michellemoquin on 31st August 2008

Talk about taking the romance and spontaneity out of sex…not to mention getting a bit tangled in the cord….there is a new device for women out there all in the name of better sex. Better? Well like I said the cord might get in the way but if a more intense orgasm is what you’re seeking, this little device may be for you. Now before you get excited, this orgasm aid won’t give you one, sorry you’ll need your other play toy, either the ‘man’ or the ‘vibrator’ for that ‘area’,  but when you’re ready to start moaning,  you might end up screaming. Hmm…I’m starting to like this.

Not sure I buy it though, but this is how it works:

Just hook up the electrode pads of the ‘Slightest Touch’ to your ankles  (Yes both of them – Oh, this is getting quite complicated.) and when it’s your ‘turn’, you’ll get an extra boost in that pleasure zone: A painless electrical pulse travels up the leg’s nerve pathways to the pelvis, creating peak arrousal. Supposedly ‘Slightest Touch’  multiplies, intensifies, and basically improves your climaxes. Okay…now we’re talkin’. Believe it or not this started out as a failed prototype for a foot massage.  Hmm…I wonder what they were doing while testing out this foot massage? Oh…but we’re not done here. You need to do one more little thing before you actually engage in sex using this sex aid: They suggest…downing one of those sport drinks. You’ve got to be kidding – Really? Now, this is just getting too weird.

What happened to just good ‘ol straight, kinky sex? Well I guess if your orgasms aren’t thrilling you and leaving you totally satisfied, or if  they haven’t been making you moan and shudder in ecstasy, this little device just might come in handy. Or perhaps…you need to work on your sex life with your mate…or as a last resort, find a new man. But for me, no.  I think I’ll stick to the basics…besides, I’ve never been good with cords….Silk scarves? Now we’re talkin’ :)

But hey, if this sounds like something you would enjoy, it might be worth it. For a hundred bucks you’re guaranteed to have the most incredible orgasms you have ever had, or your money is fully refunded. Okay, so maybe it is worth a try eh? If you purchase one – Blog me – I’d love to hear if it really works. :)

Hi Anon, Doug, ZL: Oh I wish this was a joke. I agree with all of you, and the more I learn about this woman, the more I think, this is preposterous. Is McSame going insane? And why isn’t anyone questioning his sanity – or are they?

Anon, thanks for bringing up her animal tactics. I was aware of her hunting activities but not about the bounty on wolf legs. This makes me ill.  I had to dive deeper and see what the heck is up with this woman in this area. Stay tuned.

Hello Fatemeh:  Thanks for the personal email. Again, no apologies are necessary. I understand; it is a very sensitive subject. Peace.

SP* for VP – Wha’at?! I know, Sarah Palin*, I had never heard of her either.

Posted by michellemoquin on 30th August 2008

Again, Let me say that I am not saying that all muslim men are violent brutes. Did I ever say that? I’ve worked with a few muslim men in Asia, and not one showed me any signs of disrespect, and I was their superior at the work place. They were perfect gentlemen, and a delight to work with. And why get on my case? It was the muslim women who wrote in screaming about their men, and hatred for them, not me. And dear Cruel Secretary….before you like Fatemeh start putting words into my mouth, I am well aware of the atrocities that many men of many color, and lack thereof, around the world commit. I am not sitting here eating bon bons with my thumb up my ass reading Cosmo. You obviously haven’t read any past posts where white men were getting their share.  Women abuse is rampant and I will say it one last time….It is not just reserved for the muslim men in this world. (Hell, for all I know, Fatemeh could actually be a muslim man posing as a woman.) Men in all cultures have been abusive. I am not singling out any one group nor am I lumping them all together and calling all men abusive. Are we on the same page now?

Hmm…You know, I have to stop.

I am feeling defensive and I feel my ego rising, and I don’t want to go there. We could keep bantering back and forth with these attacking attitudes, point by point, and I still feel we would get no where, so I am going to graciously bow out or at least take a breath and leave my egoic emotions to rest.

Okay, as I read back on my posts, perhaps in my excited passion to help, my emotions interfered and I did not choose my words wisely, articulating myself clearly. I feel I am not being heard, and my thoughts are, you are feeling the same way too. Perhaps in wanting those in need to know that I have heard them, I neglected to give equal time to  those that just wanted to be heard too.  It seems I have given the impression that I have chosen sides when I have just given more time to those that asked for support. No opinions were discounted intentionally, I just chose to give more focus to those that supported what I was bringing to light. I am not attached to any side of the story, and if I could ‘decide’ the story, the one I’m shedding light on wouldn’t be it.

My feeling is that the information, the side that no one wants to talk about, the side that is too painful to discuss, the side that people would rather not hear, needs more light shed on it for it to sink into people’s lives and have more of an impact than page 10, in the bottom left-hand corner of some newspaper. There is of course the other side, there always is, but that was not my focus. Perhaps, it deserves some equal time too.

Racist? No. But, perhaps if you had just tuned into my blog you might come to that conclusion since I have been riding pretty hard on the muslim man, but if you have been reading my blog for over the past year you would see that the majority of the brunt has been given to the white man in defense of the OTW’s (other than whites). And not just in the abuse of women but abuse on a global level in regards to not only women, but people, animals, the environment.

Sexist meme? – Not sure what that is but I rescue dogs not women.  Rescuing animals have always been my passion. It has never been my passion to rescue or to save women. I have a large readership. My goal to help women has been to bring these subjects to light on my blog and to discuss ideas, and collaborate.  As I mentioned I don’t know what to do but bringing it to focus is the first step.

I guess what disappoints me the most over the past few days is that egos have gotten in the way, judgement has raised it’s ugly head, and good intentions have been overlooked. And because of this we women are not connecting.  Maybe this discussion is too sensitive to have over the internet where misconceptions can easily be made.  There is no intonation to be heard, there is no facial expression to be seen, and this topic is just too close to heart, too personal, and we have not gotten up close and personal enough.

It is obvious that where we stand now, we are women of different cultures and backgrounds that are challenged when we try come together via a common purpose, where clear communication and understanding is paramount,  and realizing where support is needed or even desired.  Although I may not know much about the everyday details and lives of many, what I do know is that women abuse is widespread…..and I will continue to learn, to write about it, and support women where support is wanted. And lastly, that we have a long way to go.

So, I am going to put my ego aside and really look at what all of you have written. I am humbled by this experience. I have learned much, and I am grateful.  Mostly I have learned that I need to learn more. Thanks for participating and being a voice for many.

So…onto my topic for the day:

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSBgH_wf5bc&hl=en&fs=1]

Yes, it is still the focus of women but actually one in particular: Sarah Palin, McCain’s pick for VP.  I knew nothing of this woman and when I researched her, I discovered that she has been the Governor of Alaska for only two years. And before that, she served two terms on the city council of Wasilla, Alaska, (population 6,700) and two terms as mayor/manager of Wasilla, Alaska.   And prior to that, a political reformer and hockey mom.  Hmmm….

How can McCain  point out over and over again of Obama’s lack of experience in foreign policy and defense matter, and then pick Palin as his VP with even less experience? Ah…actually none. Obama’s ‘lack of experience’ has been the republicans strongest argument against him. Could they be shooting themselves in the foot and blowing their chance at the presidency? I certainly hope so.

Nothing personal against this woman, but speaking strictly business, a month ago in an interview, Palin dissed the VP position stating that it didn’t seem ‘produuctive’ and that she didn’t even know what the VP did.  Well hopefully she won’t get the chance to learn on our dime and time.  Palin is a conservative, pro-lifer, who would be right up there supporting McCain in overturning Roe v Wade -  that in itself is scary enough and my reason for not wanting her in.  She also believes that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.  So much for Gay rights. I would expect that coming from a conservative. Well, it’s obvious she’s the ticket they feel they need in order to score those white conservative women votes.

But does she really think she can handle the job? Do you? Like I said, Hopefully we won’t have to find out.  Can you imagine if McCain became President and died and Palin became the President running our country?  We can be rest assured if McCain gets voted in, an assassination would never take place.  I know it’s a stretch,  but could that be part of his motivation of choosing her besides the obvious above?  I wouldn’t put anything past the Republicans. Oh, but that’s right, the ones who rip the people off daily, and strip us of our rights and privileges don’t get assassinated or even put in jail for their crimes. (yet.)  No, the JFK’s and the MLK’s, the ones who fight for the people, they are the ones who get assassinated.

Where Obama is fighting for the people, stating, ‘it is not about him, it’s about the American people’,  McCain shows us blatantly, ‘it’s all about him’….and his cronies of course.

Thoughts? Blog me.

What do women really want?

Posted by michellemoquin on 27th August 2008

Good Morning!

I am going to try and keep it light today…it has been gettin’ heavy…too too heavy for this woman this morning. Not that writing about heavy subjects isn’t needed or important,  but today, I need a break.  However, since we have been on the subject of women – Guys, I hope that you’re not getting bored ’cause you shouldn’t – I love talking about men just as much but lately I haven’t heard of any man getting raped or bludgeoned to death by a woman- you? If you hear of this happening to any man, please blog me so that I can congratulate the woman – Aahhahaa!! Oh gawd…I am really being bad. I really didn’t mean to be sarcastic this morning or mean to my male readers. I really do love men. I know that there are many decent men out there – I guess the female abuse in this world is really getting to me.

Anyway, so as I was saying….Since we have been on the subject of women,  I thought that I would continue with a little story that you may or may not have read. It does include a pretty cool dude so that’s a hat tip to you decent men out there.

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur’s youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question?….What do women really want?’ Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch’s proposition to have an answer by year’s end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer. But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first. The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur’s closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.  He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur’s life and the preservation of the Round Table

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur’s question thus: ‘What a woman really wants’, she answered….’is to be in charge of her own life.’

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur’s life would be spared.  And so it was, the neighbouring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful mai den the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day….or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.

(Oh I’m diggin’ Lancelot big time!)

Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Now ..what is the moral to this story?

The moral is…..

If you don’t let a woman have her own way…. Things are going to get ugly.’

Okay, so we can all have a good laugh but seriously look at that statement: ‘What a woman really wants is to be in charge of her own life.’  It’s true. I want to be able to make my own decisions in regards to my lifestyle, my finances, my body, my thoughts, my what ever. AND…I want to be supported in my decisions. Simple, yes?

Hey ZL:  As you said yesterday,  I said it above and I will say it here:  There are decent men out there. I’m married to one. But….here comes the but….why aren’t the decent men doing something about the atrocities that are happening to many women?  I know I didn’t want to get heavy today, but when men are so disrespectful and downright nasty to their women in any culture, where are the decent men backing these women? In war time, men will do anything to save their fellow comrades…but where is their presence, their courage,  during the war on women

You know what I would love to see? I would love to see a man in any culture start an organization for women, run mostly by men who want a better world for women…maybe women are on the board giving direction but the men are the ones doing all of the leg work, fighting for those that they love. How admirable. Maybe it would be called, ‘Men for Women’ or ‘Men In Support of Women’- How cool would that be?

Hello Fatemah:  My Pleasure :) So…what are your feelings on this? You say that ‘men are socialized to believe that is is their right as men’.  And yes, western men like to play that game too.  Why aren’t the decent Muslim men putting their foot down and standing up for these women that they love? Why aren’t they teaching their sons, the new generations, how to respect, love, and appreciate women? To honor their choices and desires? Maybe they are and I just don’t know it. Are they?

Maybe if the decent ones were doing something to counter these atrocities, clearing up the ‘bad rap’ that their bad brothers depict, they would get some air time in the media. Are these decent Muslim men really treating their women decently, or are they just seen as acting decent because they don’t commit the atrocities that the perpetrators do? Is there some truth to this? Are Muslim women really getting what they want out of life? Are needs different between the many cultures? I know the challenges are.

Ugh…The article from Sepia Mutiny just drives me crazy. Why is it that a son can dishonor the family but the wife of the son gets killed?! Is there no accountability here or is it always the woman at fault? This Izzat is a bunch of crap.

Fatemah, you and your ‘triple threat’ sisters do have a hard line to walk. Excellent article – Honest and revealing. My utmost admiration goes out to you. Thanks so much for visiting and joining in on this important hot topic, and for including some suggested reads. I too am hungry to learn more and understand, and you have been really helpful to me and obviously my readers.

Readers: Did you read Fatemah’s article? A very articulate and enlightening read. Don’t be shy – give us your two.
