Good Morning.

It’s unbelievable to me that Trump is walking the streets. From rape and attempted rape allegations, to his infatuation with the assassination of Clinton, to the recent - using money from his charitable foundation to settle legal disputes, he should be indicted for something. If this was anyone but a white man he would at the very least be taken in and questioned. But no, not Trump.

I’m sick of it. I’m just livid every time I log onto my computer and start reading.

What is more unbelievable is that people, many people are voting for him. Now, as sickening as it may be, it doesn’t surprise me that he’s got men on his side. There are men out there who just don’t want progress…who just don’t want a woman to be the leader of our country…who just can’t accept a woman holding the most powerful position one can hold in our country, and possibly being successful…more successful than most of the past male presidents. In spite of the fact that we know that when women succeed, America succeeds.

But WOMEN?! Women voting for Trump? REALLY? It is so hard for me to fathom how so many women will vote against their best interest. And no doubt we’ll hear the bitching later on if he wins. Why would any woman vote for this misogynist, sexist, racist,  fearmongering, insane, narcissistic, man?

Like what…you think if you vote for him, he’s all of a sudden going to change because he got your vote? He’s all of a sudden going to be on a woman’s side because she helped him get into the white house?  Wake up. That’s about as logical as a woman having an affair with a married man and then ending up marrying that man and expecting he’ll be monogamous with her. Yeah, right.

Trump has no interest in women except to use them as he sees fit. He has no respect for woman. As Maya Angelou said, “When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.”

Trump has shown it time and time again what women mean to him. Ladies: Don’t you think it’s time you believe him?

These are just some of the names that Donald Trump has called women over the years. Yes, a man who’s hoping to become President of the United States and presumably persuade a few women to vote for him, too.

The billionaire has been widely called out for his objectification of women – he has a tendency to criticise them for their looks – and sexist remarks.

From saying no one would vote for his former rival Carly Fiorina because of her face to saying women should be ‘punished’ for having abortions and ‘joking’ that he’d date his daughter, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

Well, if you just can’t get enough of Trump-grade sexism, you’re in luck. We’ve rounded up some of ‘The Donald’s’ most sexist remarks over the years.

To include them all might have broken the internet, but we’ll keep updating the list as more emerge. Promise.

Brace yourself…

1990: When he belittled his wife

In an interview with Vanity Fair, while he was still married to Ivana, Trump said:

“I would never buy Ivana any decent jewels or pictures. Why give her negotiable assets?”

1991: When he called women ‘beautiful pieces of ass’

Back when George HW Bush was US President, Trump spoke to Esquire magazine about the media: “You know, it doesn’t really matter what [they] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”

He is currently married to 45-year old former supermodel Melania.

1997: When he said all women are goldiggers

From seminal tome, Trump: The Art of the Comeback on prenuptial agreements:

“There are basically three types of women and reactions. One is the good woman who very much loves her future husband, solely for himself, but refuses to sign the agreement on principle. I fully understand this, but the man should take a pass anyway and find someone else. The other is the calculating woman who refuses to sign the prenuptial agreement because she is expecting to take advantage of the poor, unsuspecting sucker she’s got in her grasp. There is also the woman who will openly and quickly sign a prenuptial agreement in order to make a quick hit and take the money given to her.”

2004: When he said he was irresistible to women

Back in 2004, Trump told the Daily News: “all of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me – consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected”.

2005: When he told a woman she’d ‘make a great wife’

According to one woman who appeared on the show, Trump told her: “I bet you make a great wife”.

The comment never aired on TV. Can’t imagine why – standard job interview stuff, right?

March 7, 2006: When he cracked an incest gag

According to ABC News, back in 2006 Trump said “If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

A spokesman later said it was a ‘joke’.

2006: When he slagged off Rosie O’Donnell part one

It’s no secret that there’s no love lost between Trump and comedian O’Donnell. Perhaps his most notorious rant against her came on American TV show Entertainment Tonight in 2006, when he said: “Rosie O’Donnell is disgusting, both inside and out. If you take a look at her, she’s a slob. How does she even get on television? If I were running The View, I’d fire Rosie. I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers and say, ‘Rosie, you’re fired.’

“We’re all a little chubby but Rosie’s just worse than most of us. But it’s not the chubbiness — Rosie is a very unattractive person, both inside and out.”

He also took a job at her love life and managed to offend the LGBT community at the same time: “Rosie’s a person who’s very lucky to have her girlfriend. And she better be careful or I’ll send one of my friends over to pick up her girlfriend, why would she stay with Rosie if she had another choice?”

2007: When he compared women to architecture

This appears in his bible of business wisdom, Trump 101: The Way to Success:

“Beauty and elegance, whether in a woman, a building, or a work of art, is not just superficial or something pretty to see.”

At least our beauty isn’t superficial, eh ladies?

2007: When he called Angelina ‘not beautiful’

On Larry King’s CNN show, Trump addressed Jolie’s falling out with her father Jon Voight, saying:

“I really understand beauty. And I will tell you, she’s not—I do own Miss Universe. I do own Miss USA. I mean I own a lot of different things. I do understand beauty, and she’s not.”

June 2007: When he pitched ‘Lady or a Tramp?’

Yes, really. This was reported to be a reality show, in which ‘out of control’ party girls were sent to charm school to learn some manners. Because, God forbid a woman should be anything but demure.

Tragically, it was never made.

2008: When he called Anne Hathaway a goldigger (sic)

When the actresses marriage broke-up, following her husband Rafaella Follierei’s financial and legal troubles, Trump told Access Hollywood:

“So when he had plenty of money, she liked him. But then after that, not as good, right?

2009: ‘The Trump rule’

Beauty queen Carrie Prejean wrote about the ‘Trump rule’ in her book, referring to the Miss USA pageant, of which Trump is co-owner. She claimed that the billionaire had the girls parade in front of him, so he could separate those he found attractive from those he didn’t.

She wrote: “Many of the girls found this exercise humiliating. Some of the girls were sobbing backstage after [he] left, devastated to have failed even before the competition really began . . . it was as though we had been stripped bare.”

November, 2010: When he asked men to rate women

According to a report in the New York Post, former female contestants on the show complained that Trump consistently objectified women.

Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy claimed: “So much of the boardroom discussion concerned the appearance of the female contestants—discussing the female contestants’ looks—who he found to be hot.

“He asked the men to rate the women — he went down the line and asked the guys, ‘Who’s the most beautiful on the women’s team?’ ”

Gene Folkes, a 46-year-old financial adviser, said: “I think it was most uncomfortable when he had one [female] contestant come around the board table and twirl around.”

2011: When he called breastfeeding ‘disgusting’

Trump was in court testifying in a deposition over a failed Florida real estate project, when lawyer Elizabeth Beck asked to take a break to breastfeed her three-month old daughter.

Trump and his team objected, so she pulled out her breast pump to prove it. In an incident that the Republican presidential candidate ‘does not dispute’, he walked out of the room, telling Beck she was ‘disgusting’.

2011: When he called a female journalist a ‘dog’

After New York Times columnist Gail Collins wrote about rumours of Trump’s bankruptcy, he sent her a copy of her own article, with her picture circled and ‘the face of a dog!’ scrawled across it.

April 3, 2012: When he joked about his penis

In 2012, transgender Miss Universe contestant Jenna Talackova was kicked out of the contest for not having declared her trans status in her entry (the pageant does now accept trans people). Talackova’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, angrily said that no one had asked Trump to ‘prove’ he was a man by showing his anatomy.

In response, Trump called in to TMZ Live and said of his penis: “I think Gloria would be very impressed”.

May 11, 2012: When he criticised Cher

In 2012, the singer criticised Trump’s friend and right-wing politician Mitt Romney. His response? To attack her appearance, of course.

August 28, 2012: When he insulted Arianna Huffington

Huffington Post editor and co-founder, Arianna Huffington is a regular target of Trump’s. But instead of attacking her liberal views, he tends to criticise her looks and make jokes about her divorce.

March 2, 2013: When he slagged off Rosie O’Donnell part two

March 3, 2013 : When he made an oral sex joke

Former Playboy playmate Brande Roderick was a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice in the US. During a tense boardroom battle, she knelt in front of Trump – who takes the Alan Sugar role – to ask him whether she could be the next project manager.

After a six second silence (an eternity on TV), during which Trump presumably willed some blood to return to his head – he said: “It must be a pretty picture. You dropping to your knees”.

Because isn’t that woman’s place in the boardroom – on her knees?

May 7, 2013: When he blamed sex assault on cohabitation

Rather than, say, questioning why so many assaults go unreported or why so few perpetrators are brought to justice. Nope, it must be down to the fact that women and men just can’t share the same living quarters.

2015: When he did a u-turn on abortion

Having previously supported the pro-choice lobby, Trump has now changed his stance on abortion to fit in with the Republican party.

He’s also said he’d be willing to shut down the US Government to defund non-profit reproductive health organisation Planned Parenthood.

He told the Des Moines Register in April: “In thinking about it over the years, I’ve had instances, and one instance in particular, a friend had a child who they were going to abort, and now they have it, and the child is incredible. And the man, he changed his views also because of that.”

April 7, 2015: When he called Arianna Huffington ugly part two

April 16, 2015: When he said Hillary couldn’t ‘satisfy’

…and therefore couldn’t satisfy America, in a thinly veiled reference to his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Where most of Trump’s sexist tweets remain, this one has mysteriously disappeared from the social media site. His office said one of the 10 staff who runs his Twitter account was responsible.

August 8, 2015: When he used the word ‘bimbo’

Kelly recently hosted the first Republican debate of the US Presidential campaign and gave Trump a tough time over previous accusations of sexism against him (really, we can’t imagine why).

After the debate, he responded by seeming to call her a ‘bimbo’ on Twitter.

And in a later CNN interview suggested her questioning was a result of her menstruating: “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.” Trump has denied this was his intention.

August 16, 2015: When he called Heidi Klum fat

In an interview with the New York Times, Trump said of the German supermodel: “Heidi Klum. Sadly, she’s no longer a 10.”

In response, Klum posted a video on Twitter in which she wore a t-shirt with ‘10’ written on it.

September 9, 2015: When he insulted Carly Fiorina

Fiorina is the former Hewlett Packard boss and Trump’s Republican candidate rival. According to Rolling Stone, he said: “Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that?

“Can you imagine that, the face of our next next president? I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not supposed to say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

November 10, 2015: When he insulted Fiorina part two

Trump singled out his female Republican rival for a dressing down, ignoring the fact his male counterparts were also talking over one another.

His comment – “Why does she keep interrupting everybody?” – was immediately called sexist on social media.

At least, this time, Trump managed not to respond on Twitter himself or call the woman in question a ‘bimbo’. #Winning.

March 30, 2016: When he said abortion was ‘punishable’

Trump caused mass outage after advocating ”some form of punishment” for women who have abortions if the practise is banned (which it likely will be if he gets his way).

The Republican front-runner said he has “evolved” on the issue of abortion. He was pro-choice for years before changing his position and backing a ban.

He believes the Supreme Court ruling legalising abortion should be overturned, and that individual states should be allowed to ban it. His campaign said he believes abortion should be legal only in instances of rape, incest or when the life of the mother was at stake.

“There has to be some form of punishment,” he told MSNBC, referring to women who would seek to defy the ban.

Trump reversed his position two hours later, with a statement saying that he would punish doctors who performed abortions but not the women themselves. Well that’s alright then.

May 8, 2016: When he called Clinton an ‘enabler’

After Clinton criticised his stance his stance on women’s issues, Trump hit back the only way he knows how: by accusing her of being an “enabler” of her husband’s affairs by destroying the lives of his mistresses.

At a rally, he said: “Bill Clinton was the worst in history and I have to listen to her talking about it?” he said in Eugene, Oregon. “Just remember this: She was an unbelievably nasty, mean enabler.

“And what she did to a lot of those women is disgraceful. So put that in her bonnet and let’s see what happens.”

And on May 17, Trump tweeted:

May 18, 2016: When he ‘apologised’ to Megyn Kelly

Nine months after suggesting Fox presenter Kelly was on her periods, after she took him to task over previous sexist comments, the Republican candidate apologised. Or tried to. When asked about calling Kelly a ‘bimbo’, Trump replied: ”did I say that? Excuse me.”

But he couldn’t resist adding another jibe: “Over your life, Megyn, you’ve been called a lot worse, wouldn’t you say?”

Charming.

So Ladies: Heard enough? Do you believe him now? Vote him in and I’m sure this is just the tip of the iceberg for what we can expect. Only then, it’ll be too late. He’ll have power.

5,300 Wells Fargo employees fired over 2 million phony accounts

Accounts earned bank unwarranted fees

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)

Everyone hates paying bank fees. But imagine paying fees on a ghost account you didn’t even sign up for.

That’s exactly what happened to Wells Fargo customers nationwide.

On Thursday, federal regulators said Wells Fargo employees secretly created millions of unauthorized bank and credit card accounts — without their customers knowing it — since 2011.

The phony accounts earned the bank unwarranted fees and allowed Wells Fargo employees to boost their sales figures and make more money.

“Wells Fargo employees secretly opened unauthorized accounts to hit sales targets and receive bonuses,” Richard Cordray, director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, said in a statement.

Wells Fargo confirmed to CNNMoney that it had fired 5,300 employees over the last few years related to the shady behavior. Employees went so far as to create phony PIN numbers and fake email addresses to enroll customers in online banking services, the CFPB said.

The scope of the scandal is shocking. An analysis conducted by a consulting firm hired by Wells Fargo concluded that bank employees opened over 1.5 million deposit accounts that may not have been authorized.

The way it worked was that employees moved funds from customers’ existing accounts into newly-created ones without their knowledge or consent, regulators say. The CFPB described this practice as “widespread.” Customers were being charged for insufficient funds or overdraft fees — because there wasn’t enough money in their original accounts.

Additionally, Wells Fargo employees also submitted applications for 565,443 credit card accounts without their customers’ knowledge or consent. Roughly 14,000 of those accounts incurred over $400,000 in fees, including annual fees, interest charges and overdraft-protection fees.

The CFPB said Wells Fargo will pay “full restitutions to all victims.”

Wells Fargo is being slapped with the largest penalty since the CFPB was founded in 2011. The bank agreed to pay $185 million in fines, along with $5 million to refund customers.

“We regret and take responsibility for any instances where customers may have received a product that they did not request,” Wells Fargo said in a statement.

Wells Fargo has the highest market valuation among any bank in America, worth just north of $250 billion. Berkshire Hathaway, the investment firm run legendary investor Warren Buffett, is the company’s biggest shareholder.

Of the total fines, $100 million will go toward the CFPB’s Civil Penalty Fund, $35 million will go to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and another $50 million will be paid to the City and County of Los Angeles.

“One wonders whether (the CFPB) penalty of $100 million is enough,” said David Vladeck, a Georgetown University law professor and former director of the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “It sounds like a big number, but for a bank the size of Wells Fargo, it isn’t really.”

Wells Fargo confirmed to CNNMoney that the 5,300 firings took place over several years. The bank listed 265,000 employees as of the end of 2015.

“At Wells Fargo, when we make mistakes, we are open about it, we take responsibility, and we take action,” the bank said in a memo to employees on Thursday.

The CFPB declined to comment on when the investigation began and what sparked it, citing agency policy. “We don’t comment on how we uncover these matters,” a spokesman said.

As part of the settlement, Wells Fargo needs to make changes to its sales practices and internal oversight.

Customers are fuming. Brian Kennedy, a Maryland retiree, told CNNMoney he detected an unauthorized Wells Fargo account had been created in his name about a year ago. He asked Wells Fargo about it and the bank closed it, he said.

“I didn’t sign up for any bloody checking account,” Kennedy, who is 57 years old, told CNNMoney. “They lost me as a banking customer and I have warned family and friends.”

“Consumers must be able to trust their banks,” said Mike Feuer, the Los Angeles City Attorney who joined the settlement.

Feuer’s office sued Wells Fargo in May 2015 over allegations of unauthorized accounts. After filing the suit, his office received more than 1,000 calls and emails from customers as well as current and former Wells Fargo employees about the allegations.

Wells Fargo declined to say when it hired a consulting firm to investigate the allegations. However, a person familiar with the matter told CNNMoney the bank launched the review after the L.A. lawsuit was filed.

Even though the Wells Fargo scandal took place nationally, the settlement with L.A. requires the bank to specifically alert all its California customers to review their accounts and shut down ones they don’t recognize or want.

“How does a bank that is supposed to have robust internal controls permit the creation of over a half-million dummy accounts?” asked Vladeck. “If I were a Wells Fargo customer, and fortunately I am not, I’d think seriously about finding a new bank.”

Good morning!

Ok, I know publishing these pictures is usually something only republicans would do. The republican party has proven over and over that there is no low they won’t go to in order to win a point or election. They have no shame and apparently no empathy for the angsts of others.

I say the republicans, because although it is mainly the politicians of their party that resort to this type of despicable behavior, the obvious conclusion is they do it because their constituents reward them for it. So to you republicans who attempt your usual false equivalency arguments with “see the Democrats do it too,” I say NO, we are just retaliating in kind.

This may be too deep for your logic, but reacting to disgusting behavior in kind is not the same as initiating it in the first place. So…Let me put it to you in terms you will understand. Shooting someone that attempted to shoot you is NOT the equivalency of initiating the action of shooting someone. Got it?

Republicans have disgraced the Clinton family at every opportunity from body shaming tactics to accusing Hillary of murder. Trump also claimed Ted Cruz’s father was involved with the assassination of President Kennedy. And when questioned by Megyn Kelly about comments he made denigrating women, he didn’t deny that he made them. He reacted by attacking Kelly.

So…I’m going to be the Dem that has the warrior womb, and give this creep a little of his own medicine back. And I am happy to be the one to do it. Trump’s been doing this disgusting stuff for years beginning with the Obama birth certificate crap. To those who for whatever reason feel this is a tiny penis too far, I suggest you remind yourself that the republicans have rewarded this malicious, vilifying creature with the nomination for the office of POTUS.

It is not as if the republicans did not have candidates with the political, intellectual, economic, and foreign policy experience to choose from. Yet, they chose the idiot with the most vitriolic traits, a creature who has no low. If you have ever wondered how a Hitler could get in power, you are witnessing the how in your own time. I don’t know about you, but to me that says more about the people choosing than it does about the candidate chosen. Therefore any pretentious, moral, or ethical objections by any republicans will be treated with the concern their hypocrisy deserves.

The most common trait of bullies, is that they can’t handle receiving the disgusting shit they dish out so readily to others. So to you, “the Donald,”  you Lying Sack Of Shit, “How do you like it now?”

Good morning!

Did you watch the Commander in Chief Forum last night? What did you think?

Here’s a few things I noticed. For one, Matt Lauer was all over Clinton by opening up the conversation telling Clinton that this wasn’t the forum to attack their opponent. Clinton didn’t “attack” Trump – she pointed out “facts” about him.  (Trump doesn’t speak factually. He just goes on and on about the plans he has but can’t seem to talk about them – ugh, maybe because he has none!)

And did you notice how Lauer gave Trump deference and didn’t ask Trump not to attack his opponent, Clinton? And then when Trump attacked Clinton, and Obama, and the generals in the military, Lauer didn’t stop him.

I also noticed Clinton made a big mistake when Lauer tossed her a softball.  He asked her why she voted for the war in Iraq and then changed her mind. Unfortunately, Clinton blew it there. She should’ve said what Trump has been saying all along. “Bush lied, and the Republican party knew it.”

All Clinton had to say was, “I was lied to just like the rest of the world – there were no weapons of mass destruction – Bush lied. Look at all the lives lost because of it.” But she didn’t and it was a big missed opportunity. She could’ve garnered some votes on that one – Too bad. Hopefully she’ll learn from it and next time nail the republican party.

Lastly, Lauer knew Trump lied about supporting the Iraq war (Trump says he opposed the war way before the invasion, {He’s such an LSOS} but facts say he didn’t.), but Lauer didn’t say a thing…he just moved on to the next question. Wha’at?! As the Huff Po stated, Lauer Cowers. Yes, he did. Lauer’s no different than the rest of the media: “…reporters have repeatedly let the Republican presidential candidate tell a revisionist version of his past stance without pushing back on the claim.” 

I’ve said all I want to say right now. No doubt you’ll all have more to add. Me? I’m going onto today’s topic.

Trump claims he knows more about ISIS than our military. Uh huh. He also thinks he knows everything about missiles. Right.

Donald’s Nuclear Negotiating Fantasy

The billionaire was once convinced he could cut a magnificent nuclear weapons deal with the Soviet Union.

In the 1980s, Donald Trump became a global symbol of wealth and success who was planning to build the tallest skyscraper in the world. But the one deal he really wanted to cut was an arms reduction treaty with the Soviet Union that would take nuclear missiles off the Cold War’s battlefield. It’s now clear that Trump knows quite literally nothing about nuclear weapons, but then he fantasized going toe-to-toe with the Russkies at the nuclear bargaining table.

“It’s something that somebody should do that knows how to negotiate and not the kind of representatives that I have seen in the past,” he told the Washington Post in 1984. “It would take an hour-and-a-half to learn everything there is to learn about missiles…I think I know most of it anyway.”

Three years later, growing even more alarmed about Libya and other rogue nations getting the bomb, he told author Ron Rosenbaum that he was indeed working with the Reagan White House on nukes. “I’m dealing at a very high level on this,” he said.

Trump was frightened about the spread of nuclear technology—he seemed at one point during the interview to suggest the United States should bomb France to keep it from selling nuclear know-how—and worried about the deal-making skills of American officials. “They have no smiles, no warmth; there’s no sense of them as people,” Trump complained. “Who the hell wants to talk to them? They don’t have the ability to go into a room and sell a deal. They’re not sellers in the positive sense.”

“I used to laugh when I thought back on Trump and me in [the 21 Club] talking nukes,” Rosenbaum wrote for Slate this year. “I’m not laughing anymore.”

Hey Does Anyone Find Roger Ailes’ Recent Career Trajectory Puzzling, Or Is It Just Me?

I don’t know if anyone noticed, but he went from being ousted at Fox News under scandal to advising a presidential campaign.

Over at Daily Intelligencer, Gabriel Sherman has a fresh account of the banishment of Roger Ailes from the Fox News Channel, focused mainly on the women at Fox who meticulously built their case against the infamous network head in response to years of sexual harassment. You can revisit many of the gory details of the case: the snide sexist comments, the way Ailes treated his female talent as objects for his on-demand titillations, and the retreat to intimidation whenever one of Ailes’ victims dared to stand up to him. All in all, it paints the picture of an ouster that was justly deserved.

Here’s an interesting side detail to this whole story, though. Ailes went from being forced out at Fox News under a grotesque, career-ending scandal to ― hey, let me double-check this … oh, yeah, here we go ― advising a presidential campaign.

That’s like … fffffucked up, man! I think that maybe more people should talk about this?

Of course, many people have noted that Ailes has ended up in the advisory orbit of GOP presidential candidate and sewage-poisoned log flume Donald Trump. One can’t help but notice this because, of late, the Trump campaign has seemingly made a mission of collecting many of the right wing’s more diabolical characters, “Pokemon Go”-style.

Trump traded up friend-to-dictators Paul Manafort for the dick-to-his-friends Steve Bannon, who apparently nurtured a rancid corporate culture of his own over at Breitbart News. More recently, Trump added Citizens United hatchet-man David Bossie to his camp as deputy campaign manager. They join ranks that include famed “dirty trickster” Roger Stone, trench-mouthed adviser Carl Paladino, and the perpetually hanging on hanger-on Corey Lewandowski, whose relationship to the campaign ― maybe he’s in, maybe he’s not ― seems to depend on the wind direction. (Recent acquisition Kellyanne Conway is the seasoned professional who’s been tasked with extracting a functioning, professional campaign from this rogues’ gallery ― that is, if she has any time left between all the occasions Ailes asks her to “give him a little twirl.”)

So, yeah, maybe it’s easy to lose a Roger Ailes in that sketchy wilderness, but one would think that the fact that Ailes got tossed from the news network he led to prominence after it came to light that he’d been routinely terrorizing his female employees might make it just a little bit harder. (Harder still, when you factor in the allegations he was using shareholder money for what amounted to prostitution, the “black box” espionage operation he set up within Fox, and the massive settlements he paid out to keep all of this quiet.)

Strangely however, the fact that Ailes’ workplace scandal ― the very thing that made it possible for him to advise the Trump campaign in a formal capacity in the first place ― doesn’t seem to come up all that often, and when it does, it never comes with any sort of accompanying comment noting that it’s really, really messed up that the guy went from his specific sort of tawdry downfall to the inner circle of a presidential campaign, or that this is the sort of hire that most presidential campaigns try to not make at this stage of the game.

The New York Times, in its initial report on Ailes’ involvement with the campaign, very quickly notes that Ailes was “ousted … over charges of sexual harassment.” But the same piece moves quickly to suggest that for Ailes, “being connected with Mr. Trump’s campaign could be a form of redemption after he was pushed out of the powerful network that he helped build.” Leaving aside the fact that the Trump campaign seems to the planet’s least likely repository of spiritual salvation, how would this work? It would seem that Ailes’ path to “redemption” would necessarily include a raft of apologies and the making of substantial restitution to the women he abused.

“Still,” writes the Times, “Mr. Ailes’s involvement is certain to stoke controversy.” Not if you suggest that his involvement might lead to redemption it won’t!

CNN’s Brian Stelter, pointing out the strange way the Trump campaign seemed to not want to make its embrace of Ailes known ― endeavoring to distinguish Ailes as an adviser to Trump, but not to the campaign ― notes Ailes’ ouster and provides the understatement: “The distinction is significant because Ailes is a subject of controversy.” I’ll say! And attendant to that controversy is the fact that Trump actually defended Ailes during the swirling scandal. “I can tell you that some of the women that are complaining,” said Trump, “I know how much he’s helped them.” Sure, sure.

“It makes a certain sense,” writes The Atlantic’s David Graham, “that ― as The New York Times reports ― Roger Ailes, the recently ousted Fox News chief, is advising Donald Trump ahead of the presidential debates.”

But, does it??

“Whatever his failings,” Graham writes, “Ailes knows his way around TV and salesmanship.”

I mean, the whole fact that he made a practice of sexually harassing his on-air talent maybe suggests that these skills aren’t as amazing a commodity to a campaign as one might have previously imagined. Moreover, I’m having a really difficult time picturing a conversation between Ailes and Trump in which Trump accepts the premise that Ailes knows more about how to perform on television than the candidate does.

By far the oddest story on the Ailes-Trump team-up comes from The Washington Post’s Callum Borchers, in a piece titled, “Why Donald Trump and Roger Ailes are so cagey about their relationship.” Based on that headline, you’d think that this explanation would be very quickly and capably rendered, because of the rather obvious reason they’d need to be so cagey.

Per Borchers:

Now, CBS News reports that Ailes participated in a debate prep session Sunday. If the TV titan is assisting Trump, why so cagey? Why wouldn’t the two men just say they are working together?

A few explanations come to mind.

Well, there’s the one explanation ― the one! ― that comes to mind, sits there in the mind, pecks at the mind, demanding attention from the mind, that will only finally get on up out of your mind and leave you alone when you acknowledge it. What are these “few explanations?”

1. “These are media-savvy men who understand that restricting information keeps the press interested.”
2. “Another possible reason is that denying basic, factual truths is just a thing Trump does. It doesn’t even have to be bad stuff, necessarily. He just seems to get a kick out of telling journalists that their accurate reporting is actually wrong.”
3. “It’s also worth considering the possibility that Ailes is the one who wants to keep his work for Trump — however informal — on the down-low … On the other hand, Ailes’s jumping aboard the Trump Train could tarnish the accolades he and Fox News received early in the GOP primary for tough coverage.”

Callum! Bruh! Don’t overthink this! They are being “cagey” because Roger Ailes watched his career go up in flames after he sexually harassed a bunch of his employees and then Trump turned around and gave this scoundrel a safe harbor.

“At first glance, it seems silly for Trump and Ailes to be so secretive,” writes Borchers, “But the closer you look, the more it makes sense.”

Okay, in the first place, this piece actually fails to make sense of it. But more importantly, the whole arrangement is what looks, at best, “silly.”

Right now, the Trump campaign should be working to make inroads with women voters. Ailes’ presence on the campaign makes that harder. Right now, the Trump campaign wants to keep attention away from his own sketchy workplace behavior. Ailes presence on the campaign makes that harder. The Trump campaign may want to make more hay out of Bill Clinton’s various sexual pecadillos ― something Trump has been signaling all year that he’s prepared to do. Ailes’ presence on the campaign … well, I’m sure I don’t need to underscore this.

There’s really only one way in which Ailes joining the Trump campaign can possibly make good sense, and that is if what we know as “the Trump campaign” is now in transition from a legitimate presidential candidacy to ― which is perhaps the most credible theory of what Trump is up to. In that context, joining forces with the ousted Ailes makes sense. The two men might very well be able to construct some new media venture on the backs of their combined talent and the teeming fanbase that Trump has acquired on his presidential run. (”Roger Ailes presents the Trump News Network: the global leader in Title IX complaints!”)

Let us reiterate, for the record: Roger Ailes, a man who was forced from his job running the world’s most successful news channel due to the fact he was a serial sexual harasser, has straightaway gone to work as an adviser to a major party’s presidential campaign.

That’s altogether bonkers, right? We can agree on that, can’t we?

It’s just probably something worth mentioning, on occasion.

Snopes.com says it is false. Don’t feel bad; it happens to the best of us. I know your intentions were good. In this crazy world, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was true.

Still…I signed with Moveon.org, NOT to fight women for being prosecuted for breastfeeding, {Did you read it?} but because… Idaho is one of only two states that does not provide protection for a woman’s right to breastfeed her child anywhere she is able to be. Breastfeeding women are often discriminated against and harassed for trying to do the best thing for their children. We need to protect the rights of our mothers and babies and help support a strong breastfeeding relationship.

I think it’s super important that mothers are supported. As mothers they have a right and a duty to make sure that their babies are being fed when needed. And they should feel comfortable wherever they are, and free from being discriminated and harassed. Who can’t agree to that? Sign the petition. Thanks.
