Donald Trump sexism tracker: Every offensive comment in one place

Good Morning.

It’s unbelievable to me that Trump is walking the streets. From rape and attempted rape allegations, to his infatuation with the assassination of Clinton, to the recent - using money from his charitable foundation to settle legal disputes, he should be indicted for something. If this was anyone but a white man he would at the very least be taken in and questioned. But no, not Trump.

I’m sick of it. I’m just livid every time I log onto my computer and start reading.

What is more unbelievable is that people, many people are voting for him. Now, as sickening as it may be, it doesn’t surprise me that he’s got men on his side. There are men out there who just don’t want progress…who just don’t want a woman to be the leader of our country…who just can’t accept a woman holding the most powerful position one can hold in our country, and possibly being successful…more successful than most of the past male presidents. In spite of the fact that we know that when women succeed, America succeeds.

But WOMEN?! Women voting for Trump? REALLY? It is so hard for me to fathom how so many women will vote against their best interest. And no doubt we’ll hear the bitching later on if he wins. Why would any woman vote for this misogynist, sexist, racist,  fearmongering, insane, narcissistic, man?

Like what…you think if you vote for him, he’s all of a sudden going to change because he got your vote? He’s all of a sudden going to be on a woman’s side because she helped him get into the white house?  Wake up. That’s about as logical as a woman having an affair with a married man and then ending up marrying that man and expecting he’ll be monogamous with her. Yeah, right.

Trump has no interest in women except to use them as he sees fit. He has no respect for woman. As Maya Angelou said, “When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.”

Trump has shown it time and time again what women mean to him. Ladies: Don’t you think it’s time you believe him?

From The Telegraph in the UK. Evidently America isn’t the only one noticing Trump’s sexism.

Donald Trump, co-owner of Miss Universe, has been widely accused of sexism

Fat. Pig. Dog. Slob. Disgusting animal.

These are just some of the names that Donald Trump has called women over the years. Yes, a man who’s hoping to become President of the United States and presumably persuade a few women to vote for him, too.

The billionaire has been widely called out for his objectification of women – he has a tendency to criticise them for their looks – and sexist remarks.

From saying no one would vote for his former rival Carly Fiorina because of her face to saying women should be ‘punished’ for having abortions and ‘joking’ that he’d date his daughter, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

Well, if you just can’t get enough of Trump-grade sexism, you’re in luck. We’ve rounded up some of ‘The Donald’s’ most sexist remarks over the years.

To include them all might have broken the internet, but we’ll keep updating the list as more emerge. Promise.

Brace yourself…

1990: When he belittled his wife

In an interview with Vanity Fair, while he was still married to Ivana, Trump said:

“I would never buy Ivana any decent jewels or pictures. Why give her negotiable assets?”

1991: When he called women ‘beautiful pieces of ass’

Back when George HW Bush was US President, Trump spoke to Esquire magazine about the media: “You know, it doesn’t really matter what [they] write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass.”

He is currently married to 45-year old former supermodel Melania.

1997: When he said all women are goldiggers

From seminal tome, Trump: The Art of the Comeback on prenuptial agreements:

“There are basically three types of women and reactions. One is the good woman who very much loves her future husband, solely for himself, but refuses to sign the agreement on principle. I fully understand this, but the man should take a pass anyway and find someone else. The other is the calculating woman who refuses to sign the prenuptial agreement because she is expecting to take advantage of the poor, unsuspecting sucker she’s got in her grasp. There is also the woman who will openly and quickly sign a prenuptial agreement in order to make a quick hit and take the money given to her.”

2004: When he said he was irresistible to women

Back in 2004, Trump told the Daily News: “all of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me – consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected”.

2005: When he told a woman she’d ‘make a great wife’

According to one woman who appeared on the show, Trump told her: “I bet you make a great wife”.

The comment never aired on TV. Can’t imagine why – standard job interview stuff, right?

March 7, 2006: When he cracked an incest gag

According to ABC News, back in 2006 Trump said “If Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

A spokesman later said it was a ‘joke’.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 9.24.14 PM

2006: When he slagged off Rosie O’Donnell part one

It’s no secret that there’s no love lost between Trump and comedian O’Donnell. Perhaps his most notorious rant against her came on American TV show Entertainment Tonight in 2006, when he said: “Rosie O’Donnell is disgusting, both inside and out. If you take a look at her, she’s a slob. How does she even get on television? If I were running The View, I’d fire Rosie. I’d look her right in that fat, ugly face of hers and say, ‘Rosie, you’re fired.’

“We’re all a little chubby but Rosie’s just worse than most of us. But it’s not the chubbiness — Rosie is a very unattractive person, both inside and out.”

He also took a job at her love life and managed to offend the LGBT community at the same time: “Rosie’s a person who’s very lucky to have her girlfriend. And she better be careful or I’ll send one of my friends over to pick up her girlfriend, why would she stay with Rosie if she had another choice?”

2007: When he compared women to architecture

This appears in his bible of business wisdom, Trump 101: The Way to Success:

“Beauty and elegance, whether in a woman, a building, or a work of art, is not just superficial or something pretty to see.”

At least our beauty isn’t superficial, eh ladies?

2007: When he called Angelina ‘not beautiful’

On Larry King’s CNN show, Trump addressed Jolie’s falling out with her father Jon Voight, saying:

“I really understand beauty. And I will tell you, she’s not—I do own Miss Universe. I do own Miss USA. I mean I own a lot of different things. I do understand beauty, and she’s not.”

June 2007: When he pitched ‘Lady or a Tramp?’

Yes, really. This was reported to be a reality show, in which ‘out of control’ party girls were sent to charm school to learn some manners. Because, God forbid a woman should be anything but demure.

Tragically, it was never made.

2008: When he called Anne Hathaway a goldigger (sic)

When the actresses marriage broke-up, following her husband Rafaella Follierei’s financial and legal troubles, Trump told Access Hollywood:

“So when he had plenty of money, she liked him. But then after that, not as good, right?

2009: ‘The Trump rule’

Beauty queen Carrie Prejean wrote about the ‘Trump rule’ in her book, referring to the Miss USA pageant, of which Trump is co-owner. She claimed that the billionaire had the girls parade in front of him, so he could separate those he found attractive from those he didn’t.

She wrote: “Many of the girls found this exercise humiliating. Some of the girls were sobbing backstage after [he] left, devastated to have failed even before the competition really began . . . it was as though we had been stripped bare.”

November, 2010: When he asked men to rate women

According to a report in the New York Post, former female contestants on the show complained that Trump consistently objectified women.

Mahsa Saeidi-Azcuy claimed: “So much of the boardroom discussion concerned the appearance of the female contestants—discussing the female contestants’ looks—who he found to be hot.

“He asked the men to rate the women — he went down the line and asked the guys, ‘Who’s the most beautiful on the women’s team?’ ”

Gene Folkes, a 46-year-old financial adviser, said: “I think it was most uncomfortable when he had one [female] contestant come around the board table and twirl around.”

2011: When he called breastfeeding ‘disgusting’

Trump was in court testifying in a deposition over a failed Florida real estate project, when lawyer Elizabeth Beck asked to take a break to breastfeed her three-month old daughter.

Trump and his team objected, so she pulled out her breast pump to prove it. In an incident that the Republican presidential candidate ‘does not dispute’, he walked out of the room, telling Beck she was ‘disgusting’.

2011: When he called a female journalist a ‘dog’

After New York Times columnist Gail Collins wrote about rumours of Trump’s bankruptcy, he sent her a copy of her own article, with her picture circled and ‘the face of a dog!’ scrawled across it.

April 3, 2012: When he joked about his penis

In 2012, transgender Miss Universe contestant Jenna Talackova was kicked out of the contest for not having declared her trans status in her entry (the pageant does now accept trans people). Talackova’s lawyer, Gloria Allred, angrily said that no one had asked Trump to ‘prove’ he was a man by showing his anatomy.

In response, Trump called in to TMZ Live and said of his penis: “I think Gloria would be very impressed”.

May 11, 2012: When he criticised Cher

In 2012, the singer criticised Trump’s friend and right-wing politician Mitt Romney. His response? To attack her appearance, of course.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 9.55.44 PM

August 28, 2012: When he insulted Arianna Huffington

Huffington Post editor and co-founder, Arianna Huffington is a regular target of Trump’s. But instead of attacking her liberal views, he tends to criticise her looks and make jokes about her divorce.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 9.57.04 PM

March 3, 2013 : When he made an oral sex joke

Former Playboy playmate Brande Roderick was a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice in the US. During a tense boardroom battle, she knelt in front of Trump – who takes the Alan Sugar role – to ask him whether she could be the next project manager.

After a six second silence (an eternity on TV), during which Trump presumably willed some blood to return to his head – he said: “It must be a pretty picture. You dropping to your knees”.

Because isn’t that woman’s place in the boardroom – on her knees?

May 7, 2013: When he blamed sex assault on cohabitation

Rather than, say, questioning why so many assaults go unreported or why so few perpetrators are brought to justice. Nope, it must be down to the fact that women and men just can’t share the same living quarters.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 10.01.32 PM

2015: When he did a u-turn on abortion

Having previously supported the pro-choice lobby, Trump has now changed his stance on abortion to fit in with the Republican party.

He’s also said he’d be willing to shut down the US Government to defund non-profit reproductive health organisation Planned Parenthood.

He told the Des Moines Register in April: “In thinking about it over the years, I’ve had instances, and one instance in particular, a friend had a child who they were going to abort, and now they have it, and the child is incredible. And the man, he changed his views also because of that.”

April 7, 2015: When he called Arianna Huffington ugly part two

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 10.03.17 PM

April 16, 2015: When he said Hillary couldn’t ‘satisfy’

…and therefore couldn’t satisfy America, in a thinly veiled reference to his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Where most of Trump’s sexist tweets remain, this one has mysteriously disappeared from the social media site. His office said one of the 10 staff who runs his Twitter account was responsible.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 10.06.37 PM

August 8, 2015: When he used the word ‘bimbo’

Kelly recently hosted the first Republican debate of the US Presidential campaign and gave Trump a tough time over previous accusations of sexism against him (really, we can’t imagine why).

After the debate, he responded by seeming to call her a ‘bimbo’ on Twitter.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 10.08.21 PM

And in a later CNN interview suggested her questioning was a result of her menstruating: “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.” Trump has denied this was his intention.

trump-kelly-large_trans++qVzuuqpFlyLIwiB6NTmJwfSVWeZ_vEN7c6bHu2jJnT8

Megyn Kelly and Trump

August 16, 2015: When he called Heidi Klum fat

In an interview with the New York Times, Trump said of the German supermodel: “Heidi Klum. Sadly, she’s no longer a 10.”

In response, Klum posted a video on Twitter in which she wore a t-shirt with ‘10’ written on it.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 10.11.06 PM

September 9, 2015: When he insulted Carly Fiorina

Fiorina is the former Hewlett Packard boss and Trump’s Republican candidate rival. According to Rolling Stone, he said: “Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that?

“Can you imagine that, the face of our next next president? I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not supposed to say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

November 10, 2015: When he insulted Fiorina part two

Trump singled out his female Republican rival for a dressing down, ignoring the fact his male counterparts were also talking over one another.

His comment – “Why does she keep interrupting everybody?” – was immediately called sexist on social media.

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 10.12.50 PM

At least, this time, Trump managed not to respond on Twitter himself or call the woman in question a ‘bimbo’. #Winning.

March 30, 2016: When he said abortion was ‘punishable’

Trump caused mass outage after advocating ”some form of punishment” for women who have abortions if the practise is banned (which it likely will be if he gets his way).

The Republican front-runner said he has “evolved” on the issue of abortion. He was pro-choice for years before changing his position and backing a ban.

He believes the Supreme Court ruling legalising abortion should be overturned, and that individual states should be allowed to ban it. His campaign said he believes abortion should be legal only in instances of rape, incest or when the life of the mother was at stake.

“There has to be some form of punishment,” he told MSNBC, referring to women who would seek to defy the ban.

Trump reversed his position two hours later, with a statement saying that he would punish doctors who performed abortions but not the women themselves. Well that’s alright then.

May 8, 2016: When he called Clinton an ‘enabler’

After Clinton criticised his stance his stance on women’s issues, Trump hit back the only way he knows how: by accusing her of being an “enabler” of her husband’s affairs by destroying the lives of his mistresses.

At a rally, he said: “Bill Clinton was the worst in history and I have to listen to her talking about it?” he said in Eugene, Oregon. “Just remember this: She was an unbelievably nasty, mean enabler.

“And what she did to a lot of those women is disgraceful. So put that in her bonnet and let’s see what happens.”

And on May 17, Trump tweeted:

Screen Shot 2016-09-21 at 10.19.30 PM

May 18, 2016: When he ‘apologised’ to Megyn Kelly

Nine months after suggesting Fox presenter Kelly was on her periods, after she took him to task over previous sexist comments, the Republican candidate apologised. Or tried to. When asked about calling Kelly a ‘bimbo’, Trump replied: ”did I say that? Excuse me.”

But he couldn’t resist adding another jibe: “Over your life, Megyn, you’ve been called a lot worse, wouldn’t you say?”

Charming.

!!!!!

So Ladies: Heard enough? Do you believe him now? Vote him in and I’m sure this is just the tip of the iceberg for what we can expect. Only then, it’ll be too late. He’ll have power.

Readers: And we all know he’s said more sexist comments since this write was published. Have any to add? Post it in the comments below.

Fat. Pig. Dog. Slob. Disgusting animal.

Hmm..I’d say that describes Trump quite well.

Thoughts? Blog me.

  1. NY Post Says:

More than half of men regularly make one mistake in bed which could be ruining their love life.

A new sex survey found that men who bolt the minute sex is over are killing the joy for their partners.

It found that a post-coital cuddle boosts women’s sexual enjoyment by 30 percent. In fact, it is as important to a woman’s pleasure as foreplay, according to recent research from the Sex Information and Education Council of Canada and Trojan condoms.

But 53 percent of men skip snuggling and get straight out of bed.

The study’s author Robin Milhausen, PhD, said that snuggling is the “easiest” way to improve your relationship.

She told Men’s Health: “It’s a really important, but often missed, opportunity for connection.”

But it’s not all bad news for men. The survey also found a cuddle after sex made them feel better too. It also boosted the chances of a repeat romp in the near future.

  2. NY Post Says:

Liberal firebrand Sen. Elizabeth Warren is warning Hillary Clinton not to fill her White House and administration with Wall Street bigs.

“I know that personnel is policy, but let me be clear — when we talk about personnel, we don’t mean advisers who just pay lip service to Hillary’s bold agenda, coupled with a sigh, a knowing glance, and a twiddling of thumbs until it’s time for the next swing through the revolving door, serving government, then going back to the very same industries they regulate,” Warren (D-Mass.) said in a Wednesday speech at the Center for American Progress, according to the International Business Times.

“We don’t mean Citigroup or Morgan Stanley or BlackRock getting to choose who runs the economy in this country so they can capture our government,” she added.

Clinton has ties to all three financial institutions, IBTimes reports. Employees of Citigroup have given $176,311 to Clinton this election cycle, a BlackRock executive held a big fundraiser for the candidate, and Morgan Stanley vice chairman Tom Nides worked in the Clinton State Department and has been rumored to be in the running for a high-profile job in a Clinton White House.

Warren endorsed Clinton in June, saying, “I am ready to get in this fight and work my heart out for Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States — and to make sure that Donald Trump never gets anyplace close to the White House.”

But her remarks Wednesday also suggest she’s ready to make sure Clinton’s White House is in line with her values, should the Democrat win the November election.

  3. Gary Says:

Its a really bad situation when the police shoot a man. He seems unarmed and this shooting uncalled for.
Then you find out he was armed.
Then you find out he was armed and there is a vest video, but it stopped working halfway through.
Then you find out the police found drugs in his car.
Then you find out the other police videos didn’t show any gun or any aggressive behavior.
    …….
Then the media and police wonder why no one believes them except people pre-disposed to believing them.
If there had been a police video where it clearly showed all the things the police are claiming, then we could trust them.
    But over and over…
    * no video.
    * video shut off
    * video partially shut off
*video exists but it’s part of a ‘legal action: and can’t be shown.
It’s happened so many times now that reasonable people don’t believe the Police anymore which sucks.
Because every cop I know and every Supervisor I know are some of the best and most ethical people I’ve met, and I know a lot of them.
    This is bad

  4. Lisa Says:

White me are voting color when they vote for trump, white women are voting ignorance when they vote trump.

  5. Jonathan Says:

Gary#3, When you have gotten used to getting away with the line ” don’t believe what your eyes tell you, wait until I tell you what you are seeing,” long enough, you think you shit doesn’t stink.

Ergo you lie in the face of truth with impunity. I question your sincerity or sanity if you are saying EVERY supervisor and especially every cop you know are some of the best and most ethical people you know.

  6. Kendra Says:

Gary#3, I guess it boils down to your qualifications of “best” and “ethical.”

If they are as low as I expect to allow you to make that statement, then I can see you saying it.

  7. Sonya Says:

Gary#3, do you actually expect us to believe the police found drugs in the victim’s car? But even if they did, does that justify murdering him?

  8. Patricia Says:

Gary#3, so what if he was armed? As long as he didn’t threaten the cops with it, why was he shot much less murdered?

You can do better than that. I know you don’t believe those cops, but I question your ethics if you say all the cops you know are the most ethical people you know.

We are basically talking about high school diplomas with a license to kill. They hardly will not reflect the averages of racists, and criminal elements in the general population at large.

Based on percentages alone, you must know some cops who are racists and/or criminals. Which would bring to mind just how high your ethical principles are.

    Just sayin.

  9. Rebecca Says:

Today at school, our staff decided we needed to press pause and create a space for kids to share their thoughts and feelings in response to the killing of Mr. Crutcher. I was part of facilitating three small group discussions throughout the day: a fifth grade group, a sixth grade group, and a seventh/eighth grade group. I want to share what I experienced with the kids today, because I am convinced that if you can put yourself in the shoes of a child of color in Tulsa right now, you will have a clearer understanding of the crisis we’re facing and why we say black lives matter.

    1. I look at the wide-eyed faces of the fifth graders surrounding me: 10 and 11 year olds, waiting to hear what I had to say. I tell them we will read a news article about the shooting together so we can all be informed. As I read, the students busily highlight and underline parts that stand out to them: Fatally shot. Hands raised. “Bad dude.” Motionless. Affected forever. I finish and I ask them, “What are your thoughts?”

They answer with questions. Why did they have to kill him? Why were they afraid of him? Why does [student] have to live life without a father? What will she do at father daughter dances? Who will walk her down the aisle? Why did no one help him after he was shot? Hasn’t this happened before? Can we write her cards? Can we protest?

As the questions roll, so do the tears. Students cry softly as they speak. Others weep openly. I watch 10 year olds pass tissues to each other, to me, to our principal as he joins our circle. One girl closes our group by sharing: “I wish white people could give us a chance. We can all come together and get along. We can all be united.” Let me tell you, these 10 year olds are more articulate about this than I am.

We agree to love one another, to take care of one another. I tell each of them that I am white and I love them and they matter to me.

    2. The group of sixth grade girls that surround me are either red-eyed or withdrawn. They sit next to Mr. Crutcher’s daughter in class. They are her friends. Nearly every student has a tissue as we read the article together. When I open the floor for discussion: silence. It hurts to talk about. It hurts to think about. It hurts.

I fight the urge to fill the dead air with my voice. A few quiet words are whispered about sadness and unfairness, but the rest of the time is spent wiping eyes and hugging one another. It becomes clear that no one else is in a place to speak. I give them the space to process silently. Then I tell them, “We have different skin colors. I love you. You matter. You are worthy. You are human. You are valuable.” Shoulders shake harder around the circle. I realize that this is the first time all year I have affirmed my love for them.

The rest of the cafeteria is hushed. The sixth graders are quiet. The tragedy lives and breathes among them. It could have been their father. Boys are scattered across the cafeteria with their heads buried in their shirts. A girl who just moved to Tulsa from New Orleans because her father wanted to “escape the violence” is choked up as she speaks in the group next to mine. When we come back together whole group, one boy is still crying as another rubs his hand on his back soothingly.

    3. These students are older– thirteen and fourteen. They are hardened. They are angry. Some students refuse to hold or look at the article. The speak matter-of-factly. One says she feels like punching someone in the nose.

Another student says, “I used to read about this happening and think, oh that’s sad, and then kind of forget about it. But this happened so close to home. It feels real now. I take 36th St N to and from school everyday. It happened right by my house.”

“What made him ‘a big bad dude?’” a boy asks. “Was it his height? His size–” I look at the boys in my circle, all former students of mine. They have grown inches since their first day in my class. Their voices have deepened. Their shoulders broadened. They all nod their heads in agreement at the student’s last guess– “The color of his skin?”

I share this story, because Mr. Crutcher’s death does not just affect the students at my school. I share this story, because we are creating an identity crisis in all of our black and brown students. (Do I matter? Am I to be feared? Should I live in fear? Am I human?) We are shaping their world view with blood and bullets, hashtags and viral videos. Is this how we want them to feel? Is this how we want them to think?

I share this story because I spent the last two years teaching kids that we write to interact with and understand the world, that our voices matter and that our voices deserve to be heard.

I share this story, because while I could never capture the articulate things kids said or the raw emotions students shared today, my privilege requires that I speak. I ask that you read. I ask that you use whatever privilege or platform you have to speak. I ask that you put yourself in the shoes of black and brown children growing up in a world where they see videos of their classmate’s father shot and bleeding in the street.

I ask that you love and love hard.

  10. Mary Says:

Gary#3, enlighten me. How ethical is it to allow a person you as a law enforcement officer just shot lie in the street and bleed to death?

I’m sure you believe none of your cop friends who do that and if they did none of your supervisor friends would condone it.

Yet, it happens all the time. I guess just not in the place where your friends and associates reside.

  11. Nia Says:

So in court today, a young brother was there because he got two tickets 1 for not producing registration for the vehicle he was operating, and the other for not producing his driver’s license at the time he was pulled over. The prosecutor dismissed both tickets. The judge asked “did you have your license in the car “? Young man : “yes”. Judge: “So why didn’t you give it to the officer when requested”? Young man : ” I refused to reach for it. It was on the side of me and I was NOT reaching for it “. YOU COULD HEAR A PIN DROP IN THAT COURTROOM….. DEEP!!! *Sad that’s what it comes to when young black men are in these situations*

  12. Toni Says:

Not to leave the subject you started the day with Michelle.

Trump is obviously not qualified to be POTUS. But most of white america is voting color as is so often said here on your blog.

This white woman is voting logic and not trump. Hilary it is time to kick some ass. I hope the dems take back the Senate so she can nominate and get the SCOTUS justice she wants appointed to the court.

  13. Delores Says:

Michelle, I agree in every way with everything you have said. Many of my girlfriends have stated they intend to vote for trump.

I ask them why, most are just following their male relatives and friends lock step. God I can see why some on this blog think that most white women are as dumb as dirt.

  14. Alycedale Says:

I tend to agree with NY Post#1, that’s why I insist that any man I have sex with doesn’t leave my bed until he eats my pussy good. I tell him I believe in the Second Coming of The Lord, and the miracle starts here, right now in my bed.

  15. Social Butterfly Says:

I agree Michelle, I don’t understand how women can support Trump. Did you see this statement posted today by one of his female campaign chairs, Kathy Miller?

One of Donald Trump’s Ohio campaign chairs has a very unique, revisionist view of American history that she is proudly sharing with the world.

Mahoning County campaign chair Kathy Miller, who is white, told the Guardian that there was “no racism” in the 1960s and if black people fail in this country, it’s their “own fault.”
“If you’re black and you haven’t been successful in the last 50 years, it’s your own fault. You’ve had every opportunity, it was given to you,” she told the Guardian.

“Growing up as a kid [in the 1960s], there was no racism,” Miller adds. “… I never experienced it.”

Ah, yes. Much like gravity, ultraviolet light and dark matter, racism doesn’t exist unless you can see it with your own eyes.

“I don’t think there was any racism until Obama got elected. We never had problems like this …” Miller says. “Now, with the people with the guns, and shooting up neighborhoods, and not being responsible citizens, that’s a big change, and I think that’s the philosophy that Obama has perpetuated on America.”

She doubles down by adding that black children “had the same schools as everyone else” (false), extra benefits to go to college that “white kids didn’t have” (gross oversimplification of affirmative action), and that lower turnout among black voters is due to “the way they’re raised” (voter turnout in Ohio in the last two presidential elections was higher among black voters than white ones).

“When do they take responsibility for how they live?” Miller demands.

The video is worth watching if only for the expression on the face of the poor interviewer, who at one point nicely asks Miller if some might find her comments offensive.

“I don’t care,” Miller says. “It’s the truth.”

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/sep/22/trump-ohio-campaign-chair-no-racism-before-obama?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_b-gdnnews

The ignorance is just outstanding – which is in line with the mentality of all of his supporters, IMHO. She is an embarassment to women.

  16. Social Butterfly Says:

Alycedale, thank you for putting a smile on my face. That was funny!

    /SB

  17. Social Butterfly Says:

Wow, happy to say I just read that Oklahoma prosecutors are going to charge Betty Shelby with murdering Terence Crutcher. Fingers crossed that this doesn’t get dismissed and the family gets justice and financial support for their suffering.

    /SB

  18. Social Butterfly Says:

the charge is for manslaughter, not murder. Sorry for the misinformation.

    /SB

  19. Alycedale Says:

Social Butterfly you have made my day so many times. It’s all good Honey.

I bet we would have been down if we had met during my young days. I’m lucky I can converse with females whose opinions I admire and respect.

  20. Mimi Says:

Trump gets a white boy pass when he pats that ass.

  21. Bill Says:

Hands clearly in the air, walking slowly in a non-threatening manner, obviously obeying police commands….that looks like a straight-up roadside execution to me.

And some people wonder why other people have such a distrust and dislike for Law Enforcement. I’m white AND a former LEO and this makes me angry as hell!!! This should NEVER be tolerated on our streets.

  22. Thomas Says:

If you would like to commit murder without any accountability while earning top wages and a unbelievable pension package (50% of last yrs salary) , then my friend you need to join the most powerful crime family in country the police union.

I cut out articles from old newspapers that I find underneath old linoleum floors during home renovations. I have an article It was found in a 1940’s newspaper SUSPECT SLAIN “ACCIDENTALLY” IN PATROL CAR.?

houston, tex.. may 14th(AP) — A 35 yr old man was shot to death yesterday while police were taking him to headquarters for questioning in a criminal attack of a white girl.

Police inspector joe clark said the shotgun he was carrying accidentally discharged when the patrol car hit a “big bump” he said. the blast struck the prisoner, L C THOMPSON, a negro in the right side killing him instantly.

Officers said thomson was placed in the back seat of the patrol car after his arrest, his hands handcuffed behind his back. Clark, a 18 years on the police force, was covering him with a gun.

Deputy sheriff george hilton said thompson’s body was identified by the girl as that of the man who assaulted her and robbed the service station where she was visiting two teenage attendants. the two youths suffered slight stab wounds in the robbery.

    THAT STORY SOUNDS SUSPICIOUS
It seems that law enforcement hasn’t changed its policy on committing murder, if there is an investigation, all they need to say to others in the (union)justice system is they were in fear for their life.

Not long ago police were targeted by a sniper killing 5 and wounding 7 officers, the president went on tv and says we know there’s evil in the world that’s why we need police.

What do you do when the evil in the world turns out to be the police?

When you see the police commit murder of unarmed people just about every day? the government is powerless to stop the abuse of power.

But when black athletes protest this atrocity by not standing up for the national anthem everyone gets their panties in a bunch.

Officer shelby should be charged and convicted of 1st degree murder, Everyone of the police involved in this crime needs to be charged and convicted with giving false statements to the public (saying he was reaching into the car).

It sets a hell of an example to the children that are affected by these murders. I doubt when they grow up they will ever have any respect for authority.

Why should they, when they see that white america winks at the racist thugs with badges when they murder unarmed blacks.

  23. Wyatt Says:

damn now you need to pray your damn car does not break down if you are a black man. i am glad i am white. but if that is not and execution i do not know what it.

it seems to me with all this killing’d s going on over the past few years of un-armed black men they would be more cautious. but know it shows if she said it’s my turn .

our congress is destroying american and our protect and serve is trying to start a damn race war. folks we do not need outside terrorist coming in here we seem to have to many homegrown .

this lady cop should be charged with first degree murder for this cowardly execution. the man’s truck was broke down why was he treated like a criminal instead of a citizen in need of help ?????

  24. Kenneth Says:

I have but one question… Who do we call to protect us from the Police departments across this nation? Oh that’s right, we have no protection from the thugs with guns and badges.

  25. Sham Says:

The department did not release video from Shelby’s own cruiser. A department public information officer said that none exists, because Shelby had not turned her camera on manually and never switched her roof lights into the mode that automatically activates the camera.’

Yeah; THAT’S not fucking suspicious as fuck, or anything.

    Jesus.

  26. Mich Says:

Blue lies matter. These pigs should be bacon. Garry McCarthy should join them at the slaughterhouse.

  27. Steven Says:

More cowardly cops. How do these sissies get onto the force?

The man “looks like a bad dude”. That is code for “we have a gorilla encounter”. Shameful!

  28. Laura Says:

I was all prepared to villify the cop but he kept walking with his hands up im guessing after they told him to stop and he didnt. He then went to his drivers side window and the hands came down and that is when one shot and one tased cause he was gonna reach in are they suppose to hope its for an id? He was commanded to stop id say and didnt and put his self in the situation. He was not shot with his hands up look at the video. They came down when he got by window.

  29. Breacher Says:

I agree that this could look bad. But has anyone stopped to ask the question why was he walking back to his vehicle with an officer instructing him not to?

If someone, ANYONE is pointing a gun at you why would you do the opposite of their instructions? Has anyone considered what he did or said that concerned the officer enough to draw her gun?

From the video I saw he didn’t follow instructions and was so set on getting back inside his vehicle that it cost him his life. You have to ask the question what was so important in that car that you ignore someone pointing a gun at you telling you to stop. What was he going to retrieve… a gun, knife, bat, licenses, registration? Here’s my suggestion, if you scare someone (anyone) bad enough they point a gun at you, don’t continue to scare them to the point they shoot you.

The officer may be completely in the wrong but give her the benefit of the doubt until she’s proven guilty. We afford criminals that basic luxury.

  30. Jim Says:

appears to me he is walking away from cops, even if his hands are up he is resisting arrest by walking away from them then he reaches into his vehicle and at that point I am sure they are screaming at him to get his hands up but dosent! Best case scenario, stop resisting and go home alive!

  31. Jesse Says:

Ok, so the issues here are. #1 the cop didnt taze him fast enough. #2 the cop shouldnt have shot and instead told the other officer to taze the guy. and #3 which i cant help but laught at. Once again we have someone NOT FOLLOWING COMMANDS BY AN OFFICER and walking to a vehicle and reaching inside of it, for what? a gun? they dont know!

You know the #1 reason why this guy is dead? You know the 1 thing he could have done to STILL be alive, right or wrong? it was FOLLOW the commands DONT walk to your vehicle and DONT reach inside.
You want me to recignise the cop shouldnt have shot(YET) Then you all need to recognize that had he followed orders he would be alive.

This will only get worse and the upcoming generation doesnt think anything matters but their opinion. Well guess what, A cop fearing for his life isnt going to care about YOUR OPINION when he kills you for fear of his life. He may end up in jail but you will STILL BE DEAD.

So right or wrong is it worth it to push them and dont do what they say? Is being dead and proving you were right(that you wernt really a threat) worth losing your life? The hell is wrong with you people!

  32. Timothy Says:

This police officer is another victim of the racism encouraged by obama-boy, lynch-mob and the black lice matters crowd. I notice that tinkle progress did not publish the video from the police helicopter that showed this thug dropping his hands and reaching into his vehicle before he was shot. He had ample warning and chance to comply with lawful orders of a police officer, Well, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmIfTEZRBko

  33. Irene Says:

All you racists coming on here trying to excuse this murder by saying he was reaching into his vehicle are lying because you know that they victim’s car window was closed.

That’s why it had blood on it. The victim’s blood you LSOS. If she was not planning on murdering him, why did she turn off her body cam and not activate her car lights so that the car cam would come on?

All you racist apologists leave those facts out.

And why is it only unarmed blacks keep getting murdered? And while you are speculating on why the victim was walking towards his car, how do you know that he wasn’t following orders to do so by the cop who was setting him up to be murdered.

It has happened before and only a bystander’s tape put the lie to the thug with a badge’s statement.

You racists line up to justify the murder of unarmed black men because you are the vermin of the planet. This white woman wouldn’t give you the time of day.

  34. Tuszu Says:

Now I understand why Obama asks other countries to preserve and observe Human Rights probably because he can’t have it in his own backyard.

And from the post of some of these vile racists, he won’t during his administration.

  35. Mark Says:

Once again, someone simply doesn’t follow police commands during a stop, and gets themselves shot. Both officers MUST have thought there was a dangerous situation developing, that is why one used a taser, and one fired the gun. That being said, why weren’t BOTH officers using a taser!? At least a knee jerk reaction with a taser is usually not fatal!!

  36. Randy Says:

Do you think the officers might have told Mr. Crutcher to stop walking or not to reach into his car?

Why do you think Mr. Crutcher would continue walking away from the officers and reach inside his car?

Do you think the officers knew he was unarmed as he reached into his car?

Why would Mr. Crutcher’s vehicle have broken down in the oncoming lane of traffic and why do you make the assumption he was seeking police assistance because his car had broken down?

  37. Bee Says:

Occasionally cops really do kill totally innocent people !
    Occasionally !

Why you people are making such a big deal about this accident is just silly.

  38. Galya Says:

You know America is doomed when a terrorist can blow up two sites, have a shootout with police and walk out alive yet a black man who’s car has broken down and needs help is murdered by police with his hands up.

  39. James Says:

    They don’t listen
In almost every video of a black man getting shot he is moving his hands. The police want your hands above your shoulders until they tell you to put them down.

For some reason some niggers believe that as long as they move slowly they can reach down to open a door to get their license or whatever. In police training officers are shown videos of how fast a suspect can draw a weapon.

In any confrontation with the police listen closely, when they shout, “Let me see your hands!” they mean both hands above your head, palms forward, and stand still.

Disobey and they can legally shoot your and probably will. This will never change, no matter how many innocent unarmed niggers get shot.

  40. Alfreda Says:

Trump may have heard from his attorneys that taking donations from his Foundation for personal spending money is illegal. He also goes to court right after the election for fraud at Trump University.

There may be a lurking rape case. Not that his base or the Hillary Haters care about any of this, BUT Trump has a habit of breaking the law and getting away with it. Imagine the power of the White House in Trumpland.

  41. Gabrielle Says:

Media people should constantly ask the same question until it is answered. If one reporter does not get an answer, the next reporter should ask the same question. Don’t let anyone off the hook…

  42. Rick Says:

RICO Act for this serial fraudster who is owned by the Russian mob and FSB…. Time to shut down the ongoing Trump criminal enterprise that has bribed political figures in FL, TX and Chris Christie over the 20 million in tax saving… DON THE CON should be in the Federal Pen…

  43. Robert Says:

So, let’s see here now. Trump used his CHARITABLE foundation to pay for a quarter mil in legal fees, portraits, a trip that he never took, a Tim Tebow helmet, and an obvious bribe (and let us NOT forget the millions collected in the name of veterans who have yet to see a penny of it).

And he has the balls to call Clinton dishonest? Come on, you “deplorables”,get your collective heads out of your collective asses and smell the — whatever.

  44. Barbara Says:

Trump gives a whole new meaning to “Charity begins at home”.

  45. Sharon Says:

He is so slimy and no member of the press has the balls to call him on his lies…..they are too busy asking HC about her emails.

  46. Mike,TM Says:

The republicans have set their plan into effect to steal the State of Ohio. That plan involved ending a crucial week of early voting known as “Golden Week,” the only time voters can register to vote and cast a ballot in a single visit.

“Though a federal district court ruled in May that the cuts were “unconstitutional” and ordered the state to restore Golden Week, a federal appeals court overturned that decision in August, siding with Ohio Republicans who sought to cut this opportunity. A dissenting judge on that court criticized the ruling and argued that the early voting cut “imposes a disproportionate burden on African Americans” who disproportionately depend on that week to vote.” https://thinkprogress.org/ohio-loses-golden-week-of-early-voting-afb451f9c356#.w01o9tb0q

They talked it over with theIr 4 SCOTUS guys and were advised of enough federal appellate judges owned by the republicans who were willing to overturn the federal district court decision that cutting the week was “unconstitutional.”

The 4 SCOTUS’s justices guaranteed the republicans they could block a SCOTUS from deciding the issue since it would be a tie and hence the republican Federal Appellate judges’ decision to block the same day registration and voting which had given Obama the state both times would stand.

And so it has. OTWs in Ohio unless you want to lose that state including the members they will send to both houses of Congress, you had better get registered now so that you can vote in November. They are now moving to cut off the date you can register which will enable you to vote in November.

The republicans aren’t willing to take the chance that OTWs will vote their racist asses out.

  47. black doctor Says:

There have been many changes within the criminal justice system as a means to deter crime and to keep citizens safe. However, research demonstrates that often times men of color are treated harshly which leads to negative perceptions of police officers. The recent shootings in Baton Rouge, Falcon Heights, and Dallas have exposed many individuals and their families to incidents of police brutality that reminds us that as a society work needs to be done to improve police and community relations.

In light of these recent events, many people have witnessed these traumatic incidents through social media or participation in marches in their cities. The violence witnessed towards people of color from police continues to damage perceptions of law enforcement and further stereotype people of color negatively. In a study published in the American Journal of Public Health (Geller, Fagan, Tyler, & Link, 2014), the authors reported that 85% of the participants reported being stopped at least once in their lifetime and 78% had no history of criminal activity. What is more concerning is that the study also found that those who reported more intrusive police contact experienced increased trauma and anxiety symptoms. Furthermore, those who reported fair treatment during encounters with law enforcement had fewer symptoms of PTSD and anxiety.

    What is Racial Trauma?

In addition to the mental health symptoms of individuals who have encounters with law enforcement, those who witness these events directly or indirectly may also be impacted negatively. In an attempt to capture how racism and discrimination negatively impacts the physical and mental health of people of color, many scholars have coined the term “racial trauma” or race-based traumatic stress. Racial trauma may result from racial harassment, witnessing racial violence, or experiencing institutional racism (Bryant-Davis, & Ocampo, 2006; Comas-Díaz, 2016). The trauma may result in experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, feelings of humiliation, poor concentration, or irritability.

Effects of Racial Trauma on Communities of Color

Decades of research have noted the impact of discrimination and racism on the psychological health of communities of color (e.g., Bryant-Davis & Ocampo, 2006; Carter & Forsyth, 2009; Comas-Díaz, 2016). Although not everyone who experiences racism and discrimination will develop symptoms of race-based trauma, repeated exposure may lead to the following. According to a report on The Impact of Racial Trauma on African Americans, Dr. Walter Smith notes the following effects of racial trauma:

Increased vigilance and suspicion – Suspicion of social institutions (schools, agencies, government), avoiding eye contact, only trusting persons within our social and family relationship networks

Increased sensitivity to threat – Defensive postures, avoiding new situations, heightened sensitivity to being disrespected and shamed, and avoid taking risks

Increased psychological and physiological symptoms – Unresolved traumas increase chronic stress and decrease immune system functioning, shift brains to limbic system dominance, increase risks for depression and anxiety disorders, and disrupt child development and quality of emotional attachment in family and social relationships

Increased alcohol and drug usage – Drugs and alcohol are initially useful (real and perceived) in managing the pain and danger of unresolved traumas but become their own disease processes when dependency occurs

Increased aggression – Street gangs, domestic violence, defiant behavior, and appearing tough and impenetrable are ways of coping with danger by attempting to control our physical and social environment

Narrowing sense of time – Persons living in a chronic state of danger do not develop a sense of future; do not have long-term goals, and frequently view dying as an expected outcome

    Coping with Racial Trauma

Racial trauma or race-based trauma often goes unnoticed. These hidden wounds that adults and youth of color experience are worn like invisible weights. Hardy (2013) provides the following eight steps to heal after experiencing racial injustices in our community.

Affirmation and Acknowledgement: This involves professionals helping the individual to develop a sense of understanding acceptance of racial issues. This step is important because it opens the door for us to dialogue about issues related to race.

Create Space for Race: Creating space allows an open dialogue with our communities about race. Hardy notes that we must take a proactive role to identify race as a significant variable and talk openly about experiences related to race.

Racial Storytelling: Gives individuals an outlet to share personal experiences and think critically about events in their lives. This provides an opportunity to hear others voice how they have been treated differently due to their race and it helps expose hidden wounds through storytelling.

Validation: Can be seen as a personalized tool used to counter devaluation. This provides confirmation of the individuals’ worth and their redeemable qualities.

The Process of Naming: With the scarcity of research on the effects of racial trauma on mental health, there is of course no name as of yet making it a nameless condition. This in turn increases the doubt and uncertainty. By naming these experiences we give individuals a voice to speak on them and also recognize how they impact them. If we apply a mental health condition, individuals may experience symptoms similar to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Externalize Devaluation: The aim for this step is to have people focus on increasing respect and recognizing that racial events do not lower their self-worth.

Counteract Devaluation: This step uses a combination of psychological, emotional, and behavioral resources to build self-esteem and counter racial attacks. This helps prevent future loss of dignity and sense of self.

Rechanneling Rage: By rechanneling rage, individuals can learn to gain control of their emotions and not let emotions consume them. This is an important step because it empowers people to keep pushing forward after adversity. This may include taking steps to engage in activism or self-care strategies such as spending time with family.
