Good morning! So fab to see all of you here!
Danielle: Thanks for the xoxo – right back at ya.
Zen Lill: Now, I didn’t say I wasn’t a fan of Kutcher’s bod – oh no….big fan. I was strictly talking that thing between his ears. I don’t know enough about that body part, his brain, to comment but he is certainly good eye candy, no doubt. I trust Demi knows how to pick em, so I guess what he’s got between his ears is as good as what he’s got between his legs. I’d leave a piece of me on him if he was available and I was a single girl. :)
I get your point about the issue of ‘slavery’ being a ‘sidebar’. Kutcher was named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. When I read that he used twitter to strike up conversations, and send positive message to the world, I was intrigued. I think it’s great that he does have it there, but I think it would have more of an impact if he was twittering those same articles and making personal comments about them. But it’s a start. I have yet to check out Demi’s twitters.
Linda: No, am I not trying to make it appear that Zen Lill has any special powers. I have lots of issues with people getting on to comment, and the TAO basically control the flow so that people are able to chime in. Otherwise the site would crash with so many people trying to post their two. The numbers are huge, and they vary depending on the topic. My international readers, especially women, are blocked, and the TAO helps out so that they can have a voice here too. I think I have said enough. All I will say is that it is very complicated.
Ynez and Trish: Isn’t her site cool? And she herself is even more rockin’. I love her vibe and the way she expresses herself. Her writes are just fun and inspiring, and as she says, ‘seriously helpful’.
I feel lately that I am so busy posting other articles of interest that I have lost some of my sense of fun on my blog. I used to have more, ya know…where I would just write about, ‘A day in the life of…’ I have a tendency to get too serious sometime but there is a lot to be serious about – there is also a lot to laugh about.
But, no I don’t want it to be all about me – hell no, but I am ready to throw in more doses of fun to the writing recipe again, and mix it up real good. Ah…so I’ll forget trying to find balance, that saying is so overused- As Danielle says, “Balance doesn’t exist, proportion, however does.” I like that. I’m going for a huge proportion of fun…every now and then. :)
Anyway, I kind of went off….I want to address your comment: I would like to say that Zen Lill is the golden key, and although it might appear that sometimes she is, I regret to say that she is not the reason it opens up, although the idea of it is fun. :) Danielle got in yesterday all by her beautiful self, Marcus got in first the day before and started up the conversation, and the day before that, ZL commented and no one else did, when I know that you all were trying to. So…hey, it might be easier for all of you if ZL was the lucky key, but then we would have to depend on her to chime in early everyday, and we all know she’s a busy gal. Like I said, the TAO is the gate keeper, and it is complicated. And to be fair, there is no editing done – all is random, just like the universe. Hey, but if we want to pretend that ZL is the golden key, and give kudos to her, I can do that too. :)
Carl: I loved reading your comment about your sisters, but I just as much loved your support of them and women in general. You sound like a real cool guy. Your mother did good in raising all of you. And I’m happy to hear that your sisters are successful in politics – we need more women power in politics. “Hello” to your sisters – I hope you’re reading. :)
Mary: I am so sorry to hear about your sister and the outcome of her situation. Unfortunately it doesn’t surprise me. What gets to me the most is that the military promotes itself as being a team...and working together as a team….you know, all of the camaraderie. And yet, somehow the camaraderie gets forgotten or pushed aside when all of that testosterone is flying around. Sadly, rape in the military is not a small issue.
Women who choose this type of field, women who love it, as your sister does, have to endure so much more than most men in the military. Yes, PTSD is something that many have to deal with, and that is enough in itself. But women have the added stress of rape by the men they are supposed to trust, not to mention the lack of support of the military in handling rape and pregnancy.
Abbie: ‘Real life unfiltered’ – that is definitely it. It used to bug me too when people didn’t comment on my write, when I put so much energy and time into articulating myself so that I was clear in my thoughts. But like many things in life, I had to let it go…my blog has a flow like no other, and I like it that way. Perhaps that is why I personally write less and attach many articles to my write. I don’t have to spend as much time stressing over whether what is going on in my head is articulated well on paper – or in this case in cyber script. :) Hmm…it just dawned on me that perhaps that is also why I feel that my sense of fun…which is a large dose of me, has been missing. I guess I just had a small epiphany.
Anyway, back to you…thanks for all you do. You hold quite a challenging position in young girls lives, but I bet the rewards are grand. Thanks for the recognition, but I would definitely add your name to that lineup too. :)
Hafa Adai Anna
Minnie: Yippie! Thanks for helping to bag the bag – plastic that is. :) And congrats on losing all of that weight! I think ZL needs to write a book.
Helena: I have no answer to that question, and I have not heard any rumor. But if you want my opinion, I would stick with filtering your own potable water. I am hoping that the good water filters available, will still be able to continue to do their job. But who knows? The water situation in regards to the oil spill, is a disastrous mess. In addition, I trust my filter a lot more than I trust bottled water.
Vina: Not if I can help it. Like men, not all women have got it going. Palin was proof of this. And it’s not okay for women or anyone to dis Latinos. What it says is that we have our work cut out for us.
Irene: Hahah!! Great visual of you in the bathroom, but at a hotel? Really? Ah…the things we girls do for a little privacy. Congrats on the scholarship, and most of all, the attitude. You will need it at college.
FYI: The ‘bitch’ part I’ll take. As far as man-hating? Yep some men, I will admit, I do dislike. Do I hate? Hmm…I hate what some men do, but to hate them in general? No. Even to hate a man, I have to know him personally to feel that kind of strong dislike. Your father just hates that I point out the truth about some men. It’s because they have nothing else to say. The man-hater stamp has no affect on me, and it won’t be the last time someone wants to tattoo that moniker on my forehead.
Chris: George and Sonny are always welcome here. If they chose to not chime in, it isn’t because I scared them off. If men who support women are wimps in your mind, so be it- I love wimps. Obviously you got in and you’re no wimp. I have nothing else to say to you.
anon: I have to laugh; not at your story, but because I googled ‘spirit of Lopez’ thinking I was missing something, and then I realized that ‘Lopez’ was probably the name of your boyfriend. I read your comment right when I woke up and my brain was still sleeping.
I really don’t know how to answer your question. Your story is quite unique (I would think, but I’ve heard everything on this blog)I am glad that you are off meth, but feeding your beau to the pigs that you consume is just too sick. Can you just give up pork for a while? You know….say you’re sick of it? Not that I think his spirit is going to stick around and haunt you, but really….c’mon, you just can’t eat that pork.
Got to run now peeps…peacin’ out…
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my ‘loyal’(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle
