Obama Has A Plan….Give Him A Chance

Posted by Michelle Moquin on March 2nd, 2009

Hi DNSR!: Good to hear from you again. Recession zin? Pray tell, what is that? :) I have heard about these orphanages and I am grateful for them. These elephants need protection and family. Thanks for commenting. Now…what else can you report? Especially about the LTTE…I and inquiring readers such as Shelia want to know.

Lance: Funny you should mention Viviane Castro – I saw the photo of her with Obama on her thigh – very cool. And if I were Michelle Obama,  I wouldn’t worry for a minute about a stained dress showing up in the white house. He is definitely not a Clinton.

Anna:  I read the article that you posted, along with your comments. I really do not know much about the history of Guam except that it is a US territory, ceded to the U.S. by Spain. No wonder you/they feel as you do. Your comment peaked my interest. Hmm…Perhaps I feel an article brewing. Anyway, good luck in the pageant! Keep us updated.

Miki: I NEVER take a day off. I am always here. You say, ‘No way to treat the troops.’ Hmm…exactly what are you saying? As far as the naysayers: They don’t bother me – it makes the banter interesting. But you are correct – they must find something interesting here or they wouldn’t keep coming back. You say you love my blog – maybe they do too.

Robert: Nice to see that I am not the only one requesting that the ‘anons’ pick a name. If I was going to be anonymous, it is much more fun to have a name than just be an anonymous anonymous. :) We’ll see if anyone takes your advice. If not, we’ll live with it.

As far as the rest of your comment, I agree, if even half the stuff Anonz has told us was true, we had better get in the game.

Aybak: I agree with you. Men are especially attuned to their own needs. Whereas women are inherent care givers. I appreciate the differences between men and women and what they bring to the table. What I don’t like is when actions from either sex have an affect on my livelihood or the livelihood of others. Other than that, live and let live.

And you raise a very valid question.  The ‘Do unto others…’ always comes to mind with questions like this. It is a simple mantra but one that not many pay attention to.

Zen Lill:  I got your phone message too. I think I will be available late afternoon on Wednesday.  I look forward to reading your draft or collaborating one with you.  Good luck with the new job! How did the open go yesterday?

Cleo, Brooke, Linda & Frank and anonymous ( yes all 3 of you): And I will add: Do not bank with Chase either. They totally screwed me with escalating rates and at that time I had excellent credit.   And yes it’s true, if you have good credit and pay monthly, on time, you will be in good standing, and the rates most likely will not go up.  But the moment you screw up, they hit you with the late charges, and ridiculously increased rates. Some people are just not responsible and pay late, or miss monthly payments consistently.  They deserve to have their rates increased. But the ones who are truly responsible and have made payments on time and their credit is in good standing, should be given a break. Shit happens some times. And in these time a lot of shit is happening.

I do know that the best thing to do is communicate with them immediately, the moment you are aware that you may have trouble making a payment.  Whenever I have screwed up I have been able to have the late charges removed. But again, I make a call and when they see that I have a good record, they usually work with me. Unfortunately this is not true for all banks. I have dealt with ones who won’t budge at all. The present is like nothing we have dealt with before.

I don’t know about all of the credit cards that you all have, but mine have given me 1 month to 3 months to either close my accounts or accept their new rates.  Luckily, I have pretty good credit  – not excellent like I used to, but who does anymore? So when I got letters these letters telling me that my rates were going to be raised unless I locked in the current rate by closing them, I of course closed them.  But I am with you, CUT YOUR CARDS UP! I don’t use mine anymore. I am just paying them off. I can promise, that if I ever use a card again,  I am paying it off monthly or else I will not use it.  The funny thing is, we used our cards to help our businesses grow, not for frivolous desires. As I look back, part of me wishes we did use them for fun – at least we would have great memories. :)

Doug said to me the other day, ‘Why don’t we all just stop paying on our credit cards?’ – And he meant EVERYONE. These banks are getting bailed out and we the taxpayers are the ones who are going to have to pay for it, not to mention the late charges, and high interest rates.  Could we have an impact with the banks it we all refused to make one more payment on our credit cards?

AH:  Good to hear from you again.  What you say about the banks makes so much sense. But I still ask, ‘Why do the banks continue to be so greedy with us, the credit card holders, the taxpayers, the ones that that are bailing them out? Are they not taking enough from us already? I ask this rhetorically as I know the answer, but it still continues to baffle me that the greed does not end…that the greed is literally bankrupting our country.

I believe that President Obama has a plan too and I totally back him. We voted him in and I trust he has our best interest at heart. I read and hear that many do not agree with his plan, but I too agree that we must give him a chance. He is the first president that has set out and is doing what he promised he would do. He is setting a new precedent on so many different levels.  I have faith that he will clean house.

Got to run.

Gratefully your blog host,

High Roller Frank Scoblete on the Seven Big Gambling Myths

    Frank Scoblete

In casinos, the odds are always against the gambler, but the odds grow even more dim when gamblers hold erroneous beliefs about the games they play. Seven of the most common — and costliest — gambling myths…

Myth 1: Higher-limit slot machines offer better odds, so they’re a smarter play. In major casinos, the quarter slots typically return about 91% of the money bet… the dollar slots, 94% to 95%… and the $5 slots, upwards of 95%. But in this case, the better odds are not your best bet. The 91% average return on the quarter slots means that over time, you’ll lose an average of 2.25 cents per play, assuming that you risk just one coin at a time. The 94% to 95% return on the dollar slots translates into an average loss of five to six cents every time you insert a coin, so you’ll lose your money more than twice as fast. And with $5 slots, you’ll lose an average of at least 25 cents per play — more than 10 times as fast as with the quarter machines.
Reality: It’s true that, statistically, you stand to win most at the highest-limit machines, but unless you have lots of money that you can afford to lose, the only time it’s wise to move up to the dollar slots is if you have been playing the quarter slots three quarters at a time. At an average loss of between six and seven cents per pull, you would be better off switching to the dollar machines — assuming that you restrict yourself to a single dollar coin per play.
Warning: The worst slot odds are on “progressive” or “linked” machines that offer escalating jackpots, up to six figures or higher. These machines typically return only 85% of the money bet.
Myth 2: This slot machine is due. Some slot players continue to pour money into slot machines that haven’t been winning on the theory that the machines are “due” to hit. Conversely, players who have won money on a machine sometimes continue to play, thinking that the machine is “hot.” Still others believe that when all the symbols for a big jackpot appear in view, but not in line, the machine is close to a major payout.
Reality: What a slot machine has done on past spins has absolutely no bearing on what it does on future spins. Each spin is independent and random.
Myth 3: Single-deck blackjack gives gamblers a fighting chance against the casino. At a typical casino blackjack table, six or eight decks of cards are shuffled together. But now many casinos also offer single-deck blackjack, where only one deck is in play at any given time. With just 52 cards to account for, it seems easier for gamblers to calculate their best strategies.
Reality: The casino has structured the single-deck game so that it’s harder than ever to beat the house. At a normal blackjack table, the casino pays three to two when you get blackjack — $15 on a $10 bet. At single-deck tables, the payout is only six to five, or $12 on a $10 bet. That lower payout means that over time, even if you are able to win a few more hands because you have kept track of the cards that have been played, you can expect to lose your money nearly three times as fast as you would at a multi-deck table.
Myth 4: Play the trend at the blackjack table. Gamblers like to search for trends, even where none exist. They’ll bet more at the craps table when the dice are running “hot” or bet a number that has hit a few times on the roulette wheel, though a modern wheel in a major casino is extremely unlikely to be biased.
In general, betting the trend in the casino is no worse than any other bet, but blackjack is an “antitrend” game. Example: When a lot of small cards have been dealt, there are fewer small cards left to be played, making it smarter to assume that the trend will reverse.
Reality: At the blackjack table, betting the trend is a costly mistake.
Myth 5: If I can win in poker games with my friends, I can win in the casino or online. In casinos and at online gambling sites, you’re not just playing against the other players at the table — you’re also playing against the “rake,” the house’s cut of anywhere from 2% to 20% of winning pots. And unlike in home games, you’re not playing against people you know, so you can’t expect to read your opponents. Online, you might even be up against pro gamblers using computer programs and teamwork to up their odds.
Reality: The best way to survive is to play tighter than you would at a friendly home game, folding most hands and risking your money only when your opportunities are greatest.
Myth 6: Fast play is good play. At table games, experienced gamblers typically make quick decisions and become frustrated with novice players who move slowly and drag down the pace of play.
Reality: It’s in a gambler’s best interests to move slowly. Not only does slower play give you more time to think, it reduces the number of hands that you’ll play on a given night. Because the odds are in the house’s favor on every hand, fewer hands played means greater odds that you’ll walk away a winner — or at least that you’ll lose less. The only downside to taking a little time is the dirty looks you’ll receive from the dealer and your fellow gamblers. If you’re at a casino with friends, play at the same table, so you won’t feel outnumbered and bullied into fast play.
Myth 7: Comps are a way to “win” at the casino. After you sign up for a rewards card at a casino, you might earn complimentary meals, show tickets — even hotel rooms. Many gamblers view these comps as a way to recoup their losses at the gambling tables. Casinos view them as a way to keep gamblers happy as they lose money.
Reality: When you receive great comps, it means that based on how you’re betting, the casino expects you to lose a large amount of money.

Personal interviewed Frank Scoblete, New York-based author of at least 20 books on gambling, including Casino Gambling: Play Like a Pro in 10 Minutes or Less! and The Craps Underground (both from Bonus). He spends more than 100 days a year at casinos and runs the popular Golden Touch Advantage-Play seminars. He maintains a craps Web site at http://www.goldentouchcraps.com.

  2. George Says:

No body’s saying it so I’m going to say it. Rush speaks for us the besieged white man. He is totally correct when he says that conservatism needs NO fixing. The Constitution put the America White Man in charge of this country. I want to conserve that dictate.

White women who can get behind that get the fuck out of the GOP. We don’t need you. Go suck a nigger dick. Mud people in the Republican Party, if you can’t get behind that take your inferior asses and get the fuck out.

We are America. I, too, hope that nigger falls on his face. Rush Limbaugh knows what is right for America. He will be proven right. Stick that up your ass Miichelle.

    George

  3. Suz Says:

Finally a white man with balls. You are so right. This is our country. The mud people have destroyed what it took us 200 years to put together. Mr. Limbaugh speaks for all God fearing white people who love their country.

The Bible says the man is the head of the household. Lesbians like Michelle and Zen Lill are trying to lead this country into hell. White women need to stand behind their men. They are be attacked on all sides.

  4. Anonz Says:

I have been informed by one of my agents that I have received several hundred million dollars from AIG. They are paying off policies that bet that the little guy would default on his mortgage. Sounds honest doesn’t it? Here’s the way the scam works.

A bunch of speculators buy pieces of your mortgage and then immediate take out an insurance policy with AIG that will pay in the advent that you fail to pay. The scam is in the fact that the speculators take out insurance only on those mortgages that have been rigged to prevent the buyer from being able to continue paying his mortgage pass a certain date. How is that done you ask?

An unsuspecting home buyer is sold a home that is packaged so that his mortgage is initially affordable because he is only paying the interest or part of the interest on the loan. Later in the life of the loan he will be hit with having to pay all of the interest or part of the principle or he will be hit with increased interest on his mortgage.

Anyone of those events will trigger an eventual foreclosure of the marks mortgage. If it is questioned, just say the mark tried to buy more home than he could afford. Who’s going to check to discover that we rigged the presentation to make the mark think that he could afford what we were offering.

I say “we” although I never sold a home, because all the players of the scam are interconnected. We know who is selling sub prime loans, who is scamming buyers into purchasing a future foreclosure, who is hiding the truth about the future interest rates.

Hell, if we missed a scammer or two, we would be notified by then that they had some mortgage pieces to sell. Oh did I mention that we blew up the value of some of those mortgages so that we could insure the eventual default for the full monte.

Now AIG and other insurers are paying off those crooked insured schemes because its your money. Tens of billions will be paid out in the next few months. We will be laughing all the way —not to any of those banks though.

Don’t get angry with me. You voted for the Party that deregulated the industry to make it possible to rip off the country for a trillion dollars. You voted for the Party that fired most of the SEC regulators and handcuffed the rest to allow their cronies to fleece the America people in general and the honest investor in specific.

If I see others getting theirs because of a system that is designed to allow for unchecked greed to flourish, I am going to get as much as I can first. Even now many of you are supporting the Party that openly says they hope the President of the United States fails if it means they won’t get reelected or that their conservative principles will look bad, or that a black man will succeed were a white man failed.

I will make several hundred million more dollars over the next few months as the insurance companies begin to pay off on one of the grandest scams since the bush boys ran a similar one in the 80′s.

The market knows that the fix is in and that the key boys in place will pay off their partners before Obama realizes that they have been had. Oh somebody may go to jail. Probably someone on no importance. Who cares I got mine.

  5. dnsr! Says:

I guess wars generally begin with gentlemen like Anonz craving money or absolute power no matter the cost for some reason, perhaps to make themselves feel better about their little pee pees. They amass forces of destruction or use others to pervert, corrupt and kill anything in the way of their insatiable greed and then rationalize their insanity blaming it on something or someone else like the “Bush Boys”.

The LTTE ruthlessly eliminated all other Tamil leadership then ruled the north through force and total intimidation. Apart from holding all civilians virtually hostage, they use children as young as eight for canon fodder, forcing families to give up at least one child to fight or else they all face death. The latest figures in December 2008 indicated 6,288 child soldiers in combat, comprising 3,809 boys and 2,478 girls. The Tigers have vowed to fight to the death and now that troops are moving in for the kill, they say they want a ceasefire but they refuse to lay down their arms. The government can’t figure out how they are being resupplied, by air and sea – some suspect aliens or maybe even Anonz could be behind it. If so, could you order it to stop, sir? The situation is dire.

  6. Cyndi Says:

    Dnsri

You have my sympathies concerning the plight of the Sri Lankans. However, I don’t think your assessment of Anonz is spot on.

He is a gentleman, yes and he does have money. But I don’t think one can equate the desire to enrich one’s self with the beginning of a war.

Wars don’t generally begin with “gentlemen” however facetiously you may have meant it. Wars begin with men who have convinced enough people that they know what’s best for them. Those people then follow blindly into hating or fearing whomever your “gentlemen” says should be hated or feared.

Wars like the two we have gotten ourselves into were started by a group that were greedy and who believed that an world philosophy could be effected by force of arms.

But long before that they were accepted by many people who saw an opportunity to make a lot of money if they followed these people. The “Bush Boys” were elected by and reelected by those people.

The environment of greed, was enjoyed by all those people who participated in the feeding at the trough. While they were so engrossed in satisfying their greed, the “gentlemen” slipped into their grab for absolute power.

The Anonz’s of the world may or may not be interested in amassing money for money’s sake; they may or may not be interested in having “absolute power.” But they most certainly believe if anyone is to have all the money and/or all the power it should be them.

So as I see it, they enter the game that is being happily played by all those people who put the Bush Boys into office and strive to rise to the top.

To blame the player who wins the game for starting the game is a bit short sighted. It dooms one to having to experience a repeat of the game. “Hate the game not the player.”

These two wars were not his to start or stop. They were the American people’s. They can not “rationalize their insanity blaming it on something or someone else like the ‘Bush Boys.” The American people, we, have to accept the responsibility for allowing those crooks to do what they did.

The Anonz’s simply profited by our greed, racism, xenophobia, and religious zeal to force others to accept our moral beliefs.

As for the LTTE and their war with the rebel faction led by Colonel Karuna, both sides have their outside supporters who are in it for the money.

As for Prabhakaran, he is without a doubt a beast. His use of children is so cruel as to be inhuman. But the rest of the world looks past their need for help.

Americans were too busy electing business friendly politicians who would not regulate so as to enable the quick buck. Greed by many is the true culprit here. Any attempt to lay it at the feet of those like Anonz who played the system better than most is ludicrous.

Rush Limbaugh just got a contract renewal worth close to $400 million —

Everything he has been saying this year – and continues to say – is really nothing more than his attempt to justify that morbid excess.

  10. Anonymous Says:

Of course Rush wants the economy and the environment to fail. Then his black shirted dittoheads can run around saluting, goose stepping, book burning and beating the crap out of anyone who disagrees with them. Didn’t anyone out there study history?

  11. Anonymous Says:

Yes, some people did. They tend not to listen to talk radio or to rant/rave at any opportunity, but they’re out there. The history of democratic Germany’s fall into fascism should receive more public discussion, it should be on TV, should be taught in schools. That is the only way to prevent it from happening again, which is exactly where this country is headed unless the “Republicans” and “conservatives” get their act together and reinvent their message.

  12. Anonymous Says:

Rush is necessary for the GOP. All the white, lonely, disaffected voters driving along the interstate must know whom to hate and what to think. If not given the daily pablum by Rush, our countries’ problems may be thought of as our own instead of belonging to illegal aliens, welfare moms or some other scapegoat. Rush’s rudderless, thoughtless drivel is necessary for a rudderless party that has run out of ideas..

  13. Anonymous Says:

We don’t really know what Rush Limbaugh “believes”, just what he says. Does he really believe the nonsense he rants every day, or is it a clever device to get his angry white man audience into an addictive frenzy of hate? He has to play to his audience; his pay depends on the regularity, and predictability of his audience–so it is not a reliable “bias-free” gauge of what he believes.

He helps Obama by being a shill, basically, never having run for office himself or done anything useful. He can’t announce a favorite too far in advance, lest his choice go down in flames and bring further discredit on himself.

  14. Anonymous Says:

Rush has enabled many people to have Materialism as their true God. To change this mindset ,we are going to need some major emphasis on the teachings of J. Christ . To this Secularist, he is still the best hope to save us.

  15. Anonymous Says:

It is true that the real god of America is money and the power that goes with it. It has been this way for some time. Your point about the teachings of JC is well taken however most churches would not recognize the real Christ spirit if he walked on the water of their baptismal founts. JC would be rolling over in his grave if he were still in it.

  16. Mickey Says:

Hey, I thought the aliens gave us JC. We earthlings made up our own version. Our version involves a heaven of golden gates. Or pearly. Either way we have moved into a heaven that rewards us with riches.

Tina says men run the earth. She says we should avoid them, then yesterday she said you need to get laid to fully have the earth experience. I have been so excited by the things i have seen and done so far.

One of the best is the way these units eliminate. We ingest things that taste, then we expel the stuff in solid or liquid form. I can’t tell whether I like the ingesting or the elimination better.

I mean earthlings no harm, why is it that if I am discovered they will harm me? The girls let me read the blog today. I am told that I can talk to you through this medium. I want to stay longer than the 30 days. The girls say I have to leave with them. I say why not allow me to stay. I am learning very fast. So can I stay?

    Marni

Sir can I ask you why if humans do not eat humans. Tina said they don’t. Why do humans eat animals that don’t eat humans? Tina says some of the packages we eat come from other living animals. I asked Tina, she said thats just the way it is.

  19. Doug Says:

Rush Limbaugh should be jailed for spewing treasonous rhetoric. He is saying that he wants our country to fail, and the GOP is saying that Rush is more Amerikan than Obama?! What a bunch of idiots. But, this “fat bastard”, drug addict, who has become the moniker for the right wing, hides behind the freedom of speech. That same Constitutional freedom to which Bush whittled away at during his eight years of destroying our Constitution, economy, and the world. I am not surprised that he is having difficulty finding speeches, and money for his library. Especially when he hated reading his dailies, read books to children while the book was upside down…and some people still think this guy has a brain…he is not only scary, but the modern Scarecrow.

I am amazed at how many people still think these fucks have any sense.
